Amber: Oh, look at that. It's a wonderful, beautiful day. Isn't it, sweetie, huh? Today is the most wonderful day in the entire world. Yes, it is. Because today, your mommy and your daddy are getting married. Yes, we are. And you know what? Know what? That means you, me and Daddy -- we are gonna be a family. And we're gonna be a family forever and ever and ever. Yes, we are. Yes.
[Knock at door]
Amber: Who is that? Who's there? Wanna go get the door? Let's go get it. Oh! It's your Grandma Stephanie. Say hi!
Stephanie: Hello, my little sweetheart. I brought you something to eat. I didn't want you to pass out in front of the guests. And I know you still have a million things to do.
Amber: Oh, don't remind me. I -- I've been in a daze all day. I'm so happy.
Stephanie: Well, good. So is the groom. You both should be. I mean, you've waited long enough for this.
Amber: No, I can hardly believe it's actually happening.
Stephanie: The caterers are just about finished setting up. The house looks gorgeous. There's so many flowers in the living room. The minister's on his way over.
Amber: Isn't he a little bit early?
Stephanie: Well, when he called, he told me that he wanted to talk to Rick before the ceremony because you never had a rehearsal.
Amber: I don't think we actually need a rehearsal. You know. I think we pretty much know what we're doing.
Stephanie: Well, if you get stuck, you've got two old hands at marriage on either side of you.
Amber: Oh, you heard about that?
Stephanie: Well, yes. Rick told me last night.
Amber: I hope you're not offended. You know, I mean, you've been more supportive than anybody, but Rick really wants Brooke to be a part of this, so -- I just couldn't say no.
Stephanie: Well, of course you couldn't. I'm proud of both of you.
Amber: That's probably her now. She's supposed to bring over my dress.
Stephanie: Well, you come with me, my handsome guy.
Amber: Thank you. Hello?
Rick: Happy wedding day. I was just calling to see how you were doing.
Amber: Oh, why didn't you come over and find out?
Rick: Nope. I am not gonna see you until you walk down the aisle.
Amber: I can't wait that long.
Rick: And just a little bit longer, and then you'll get to see me every single day for the rest of your life.
Amber: I like the sound of that.
Rick: Yeah, so do I. I love you, Amber.
Amber: I love you, too.
Rick: Well, I'll see you later. And give our boy a kiss for me, okay?
Amber: I will. Bye.
Stephanie: I told you. He's just as excited as you are.
Stephanie: He's not coming over here?
Amber: No. No, he wants to wait till the wedding, you know, for good luck.
Stephanie: He should, not that you really need it.
Amber: I hope not. Gosh, Rick and I, we have been through so much, you know, with his mother and Deacon. I just don't want any surprises today.
Stephanie: You're worried about Deacon, too.
Amber: He still hasn't given up, Stephanie. He is determined to stop me from marrying Rick.
Stephanie: I know, but I don't want you to worry, not today, okay? He can't get anywhere near you or anywhere near this house and this ceremony.
Brooke: Honey, we've got to hurry. I have to get this dress over to Amber. Why aren't you dressed?
Bridget: I'll see you there later.
Brooke: You're not coming with me?
Bridget: No, actually. I'm going to the wedding with somebody else. I have a date.
Brooke: You have a date? Who?
Bridget: Remember that guy I was talking about? I invited him to the wedding.
Brooke: Bridget, this is a family event.
Bridget: I know. But he knows Rick and Amber.
Brooke: So you've been seeing him?
Bridget: Yeah. We've seen each other a couple times. He came to my birthday. He's a really nice guy.
Brooke: Well, why didn't you introduce him?
Bridget: Well, he's sort of intimidated by our family. I practically had to beg him to come to the wedding, so I want you guys to take it easy on him, okay? Mom, I really care about him. We care about each other, and I want you to like him.
Brooke: Honey, yes. Of course we will. He has nothing to be nervous about. As long as he cares of you and he makes you happy, that's all that really matters to us. Okay?
Brooke: I better get going. Don't be late. I can't wait to meet him.
Alexandra: Rick's little sister invited you to Amber's wedding?
Deacon: Oh, no, no, she didn't just invite me. Alex, you're looking at her date.
Alexandra: Big deal. You get in the door. The Forresters will just throw you right back out.
Deacon: No, they won't. They'll stop the wedding, and they'll give me back my son.
Alexandra: Oh, right. And why would they do that?
Deacon: It's like the man said -- "I'm gonna make 'em an offer they can't refuse." They're gonna chose between Amber and Bridget.
Alexandra: Deacon, she's just a kid.
Deacon: No, no, no. She's Eric Forrester's kid, and when he sees how crazy she is about yours truly, all hell's gonna break loose, and he will do anything he has to keep her away from me.
Alexandra: Even give up Amber and little d.
Alexandra: What if they call your bluff?
Deacon: Well, I don't remember saying I was bluffing.
Alexandra: You'd run away with an 18-year-old girl?
Deacon: Alex, she's so crazy about me, I think she just might do it.
Alexandra: But you want Amber.
Deacon: Yeah, I do, but this seems to be the only way that I can get her back. Look, I don't like the idea of this, all right? I don't want to hurt Bridget, but I'm fighting for my life here. I'm fighting for my son, for the woman I love. I'm gonna do anything I have to to get them back.
Alexandra: There's gotta be another way. If this doesn't work, you could lose everything -- Amber, little d. The Forresters will never let you see them again.
Deacon: Yeah, I know. This is pretty risky. That's why I've got to give plan "a" another shot.
Alexandra: What's plan "a"? Deacon, where are you going?
Deacon: I'm going to go see Amber.
Amber: I'm not worried, Stephanie. You know, it's just -- Brooke isn't gonna do anything to upset Rick. I just wish she could be as supportive as you are.
Stephanie: Honey, she'll come around.
Amber: See, that's just it. I don't think she ever will. I mean, you -- you accepted me into your family, and even when things were bad between us, I knew I could always come to you, because you'd be there for me. [Sighs] And here you are again. I hope you know how important you are to me, Stephanie. I admire you more than anyone I have ever met, and I can't wait to be a part of your family. I love you.
Stephanie: I love you, too, baby. You know that.
Brooke: Oh! Sorry, I don't mean to interrupt.
Stephanie: Come on in. I want to talk to you.
Brooke: No. You know what? It's okay. I can see what's going on here. Amber changed her mind. She wants you to stand up for her instead. That's fine by me. I'm just gonna leave the dress right here --
Stephanie: Stop! Stop! You're still the matron of honor. No one has changed their minds. We were just, you know, reminiscing.
Brooke: Oh. Well, that's funny, I would think you would want to avoid a trip down memory lane. I know the ride to the altar hasn't really been a smooth one.
Stephanie: Would it kill you to be pleasant? It's your son's wedding day. He loves you. He loves her. He just wants the two of you to get along.
Amber: I want that, too.
Brooke: Okay. Look, why don't you get dressed? I think it's getting kind of late.
Stephanie: Well, I think I'll leave.
Amber: Thank you, Stephanie, for everything.
Stephanie: You have your matron of honor to take care of you.
Amber: Well, I think I'm gonna get dressed.
Brooke: Amber, I really think you should know something. This isn't personal. I'm really not trying to make your life miserable. Everything I've done, I did to protect my son.
Amber: Well, you don't have to protect him from me. I love him, and I'm never gonna let anything hurt him.
Brooke: Look, I know you want to believe that, and so does Rick, but that doesn't change the fact that he really isn't ready for marriage. And if you'd be honest with yourself, neither are you.
Amber: Okay. That's not true. Rick and I are ready for this. In fact, we have been ready for it a very long time. It's gonna happen, Brooke -- today. There's nothing anyone can do to stop it.
Thorne: Did anyone order two very well-pressed tuxedos?
Rick: Hey, man.
Minister: The best man is here.
Thorne: At your service. Where's my lovely wife?
Eric: She didn't come with you?
Rick: Well, she should have been here by now.
Thorne: Well, she probably just got hung up at the house. I'm sure she's on her way.
Brooke: What am I doing here standing up for Amber? This is ridiculous.
Amber: What did you say?
Brooke: Oh. Do you need any help in there?
Amber: No, I'm fine.
Brooke: Okay. If you don't need me, I'm gonna head over to the main house.
Amber: Just keep an eye on the baby for a minute. I'll be right out.
Brooke: It's a good thing that you're too young to understand any of this. I know you love your mother, but what she's doing to my son is a tragedy, and now I'm a part of it. It's like watching a train wreck.
Little Eric: Da-Daddy!
Deacon: Come here. Come here. Oh, look at this guy. How you doing, pal? You are getting so big.
Brooke: What are you doing here?
Amber: Here we are -- after all this time, after everything we've been through. The years that we've waited for this moment. It's finally here. I just wish you could be as happy as we are. I know you're in so much pain, and you're scared of losing your son. You're angry about losing me. We were the only family he ever had.
Deacon: You promised your cousin, Becky, that you'd take care of him, didn't you? And I respect that. And you see the Forresters as the ticket to doing that, but I'm telling you, and you've got to trust me on this, Amber. They're not. And the reason is 'cause it's not their son! It's Sharpe blood and Moore blood that runs through his veins, not Forrester blood! That is not the issue anyway. It's you and me. Come on, it's our future. There's something happening between you and me, something building. Amber, we're falling in love. Why do you want to turn your back on that? I'm asking you, just stay. Do it for him, do it for me, I don't care, but do it for yourself, 'cause damn it, you deserve to have some happiness, and I want so badly to show you that happiness if you'll just give me a chance.
Amber: All he wanted was a chance. Maybe we would have been good together, but I guess we'll never know.
Brooke: Deacon, I asked you, what are you doing here?
Deacon: I came to see Amber.
Brooke: You can't. Look, I know that you're hurting. I know you miss Amber, and you miss your son, but being here is only going to make it worse.
Deacon: Maybe. Maybe not.
Brooke: I'm not happy about this, either. I'm losing something that is very precious to me -- my son's future and everything that I wanted for him.
Deacon: Yeah, well, you still seem to be a part of this crazy little circus, don't you, Brooke?
Brooke: Yes, I am, because my son needs my support, and he asked me to be here, but nobody asked you.
Deacon: He asked me. Amber told me. Brooke, he needs me. He needs me as much as I need him.
Brooke: Well, then you can spend some time with him as soon as the wedding's over.
Deacon: Well, gee, that's really not gonna work for me. Look, I've tried to play this little game by the rules you people have set up, and every single time, I wind up getting shafted. I wind up getting conned. Well, that's over and done with. I told you that I want my family back, and I want 'em back now.
Brooke: Well, there's a little problem with that. Amber chose Rick, and they're getting married today.
Deacon: But they're not married yet.
Brooke: You don't honestly believe you can stop this.
Deacon: Yes, I do. I told you before, Brooke, one way or the other, Amber and little d are coming home with me.
Eric: Rick, shouldn't you be getting ready?
Rick: I wanted to talk to you.
Eric: A-ha, fatherly advice.
Rick: Actually, I wanted to thank you. I was lying awake last night. I was thinking about the first wedding to Amber, how hard you fought it, all the arguments we had. But not this time.
Eric: You're an adult now. You don't need our permission.
Rick: I know, but Amber and I do need your acceptance. And in spite of your misgivings, you gave it to us. You didn't interfere. You let me make my own decision. I just want you to know how much I appreciate that.
Eric: You have a pretty highly developed sense of responsibility, don't you? And you're completely committed to Amber and to the baby, so I accept that. I may not agree completely with what you're doing, but as long as you believe you're doing the right thing, this family will stand beside you every step of the way.
Rick: Thank you.
Eric: You're welcome.
Brooke: Deacon, wait. You really think you can talk Amber out of this?
Deacon: Well, I gotta try.
Brooke: You really love her, don't you?
Deacon: We're two of a kind. We understand each other. I mean, she and Rick, they're like oil and water, Brooke. No matter how hard they try, they're not gonna truly be happy, okay? And this marriage, it will fail. And when it does fail, what's gonna happen to Amber? What's gonna happen to my son? What's gonna happen to your son? Give me a couple of minutes to talk to her alone, and I know I can convince her, and maybe I can save your family and mine.
Amber: It's about time you came to help me. Will you hand me that perfume over there? Deacon, what are you doing?
Deacon: I'm not doing anything. You are. Amber, you're gonna put a stop to this wedding.
