John: I'm back.
Sharlene: Yes, I see that.
John: You alone?
Sharlene: Oh. Were you referring to Grant?
John: No, not necessarily.
Sharlene: Is that why you didn't call from France? Not even to let me know your flight schedule? You were hoping to catch me at something?
John: Of course not.
Sharlene: Did you get my messages?
John: Yes. Yes, I did. I decided that a long discussion long distance wouldn't really be productive.
Sharlene: Long discussion? How about, "I'm here, I'm ok, how's the baby?"
John: Sharlene, what I have to say to you has to be said face to face, not over the phone.
Sharlene: Ok, we're face to face now.
John: I did a lot of thinking while I was away.
John: There are going to be a lot of changes around here, starting now.
[Classical music playing]
Ken: Rachel, what are you doing here?
Rachel: Looking for you. I didn't like leaving things the way we left them.
Ken: [Sighs] You shouldn't have come here.
[Turns music off]
Ken: We have nothing else to say to each other.
Rachel: That's not true.
Ken: Oh, yes, it is. Besides, I'm busy.
Rachel: Not too busy to play the dvorak.
Ken: It helps me think. Look, I don't know who got you out here, but --
Rachel: I'm not leaving until you tell me why you walked away. The real reason.
Felicia: This is it.
Sam: Felicia, are you sure you want to go through with this?
Felicia: Are you kidding? Wild horses couldn't stop me. We're going to clear your name and we're going to get it on tape. Are you ready?
Sam: Let's do it.
Mr. Levin: Miss Gallant?
Mr. Levin: Hi.
Felicia: Mr. Levin, right? It's a real pleasure, Mr. Levin.
Mr. Levin: Oh, the pleasure's mine, believe me. You know, I've never been on tv before.
Felicia: Oh, now, come on, don't be nervous. You're going to be a natural. Honey, would you check the lighting behind the desk?
Mr. Levin: Is this all the crew you brought, Miss Gallant?
Felicia: Oh, please -- Felicia. Yes, I want it to be simple and very intimate. I want to get into the real nitty-gritty of the insurance business.
Mr. Levin: Well, I hope I can do that.
Felicia: I know you can. I knew it the moment I talked to you on the phone.
Mr. Levin: Really?
Felicia: Really. And I do want to thank you for letting us do it at your office rather than the studio. It just makes it so much more, well --
Mr. Levin: Authentic.
Felicia: That's it, authentic. Well, why don't we start, all right?
Mr. Levin: Sure, sure.
Felicia: Why don't you sit down behind your desk? And -- oh, I need you to sign this release form. It's a standard procedure, please.
Mr. Levin: Certainly.
Sam: The lighting is fine out here.
Felicia: Good, all right. Shall we? Please, sit down.
Mr. Levin: Certainly.
Felicia: Ok. Oh, I am sorry. I didn't introduce you to my cameraman. Please meet Sam Fowler.
Mr. Levin: Sam who?
Sam: Fowler. And I've been looking forward to this moment for a long, long time.
[Knock at door]
Man: Delivery for Miss Olivia Matthews.
Olivia: Delivery? All right.
Matt, Reuben, Josie: Surprise!
Matt: Hey. Your personal support team has arrived.
Josie: I'm so glad you're still here. We were afraid we might miss you.
Reuben: Not bad. Better than that fleabag place we stayed in, right, Jos?
Josie: Yeah, look at that view.
Olivia: I don't believe this. This is crazy. What -- how did you know?
Matt: Aunt Liz.
Olivia: She's not with you, is she?
Reuben: Oh, no, no, no. We're not that nuts.
Matt: No, I called her to check on your audition.
Josie: And then she told Matthew that you are one of the finalists and you're going to be dancing for the ballet master today.
Reuben: And Matt told us.
Matt: And I thought we should be here.
Reuben: You know, just to hold your hand or say "break a leg" or whatever you need to get through.
Olivia: You flew all the way to New York just to wish me luck?
Reuben: Yeah, yeah, we did. Crazy, right?
Josie: Well, Matthew sprung for the airfare.
Matt: What are friends for?
Josie: Olivia, I'm so excited for you. When's your callback?
Olivia: Oh, in an hour or so.
Reuben: An hour?
Matt: An hour?
Reuben: Well, you better get yourself in gear and make some tracks, you know? You don't want to miss your big break.
Olivia: I'm not going. I can't.
Josie: You can't? Well, why? Did you hurt yourself?
Olivia: Oh, no, no, it's nothing like that. I just can't do it.
Josie: Olivia, it's nerves. I know the feeling. But once that music starts playing, you're going to be fine. Now, come on, let's go.
Olivia: No, it's more than that. I -- I just can't concentrate. I can't dance right now, that's all.
Matt: Ok. Come here, come here, come here, come here. You're upset. This has something to do with Sam, doesn't it? Ah, I knew it, I knew it.
Olivia: Look, I thought we made an agreement that we weren't going to talk about Sam.
Matt: Ok, we won't talk about Sam, but don't let him spoil everything you've worked for.
Josie: Olivia, you've been rehearsing this for months.
Matt: It's an opportunity you can't pass up.
Olivia: Look, I don't care.
Reuben: Of course you do. I mean, no other girl can dance the way you can. You're just going to hand this part over to somebody else?
Josie: Olivia, go to the callback. You can deal with whatever is bothering you later.
Reuben: Yeah, we didn't fly out here for nothing, right? I mean, we do want to see you dance.
Matt: Come on, come on, what do you say?
Olivia: I say -- we better make tracks.
Matt: Whoo! All right, ok.
Josie: I got your purse.
Matt: Grab that purse and you got the bag and --
Josie: You're going to be great.
Matt: I'll get the door. Madam, madam, madam.
Felicia: Sam, are we rolling?
Sam: Yes, we are. I have a personal interest on how insurance policies work.
Mr. Levin: Miss Gallant, please, look --
Felicia: All right, here we go. This is Bill Levin, everyone, joining us today for an inside look at the insurance business. He's going to tell us how much we need and why. Why don't we start with how you find your --
Mr. Levin: Look, I don't think we should be doing this today.
Sam: Oh, yes, I think we should be doing this today. Felicia and I have a few questions for you. Do you understand?
Felicia: I'll make this very quick. How and why do you know Evan Bates?
Mr. Levin: What do you want?
Sam: Why don't we start with a full confession, huh?
Mr. Levin: For what? I don't have -- I don't even know what you're talking about.
Sam: Oh, yes, you do. You wrote a million dollar policy for Evan Bates in my name.
Mr. Levin: Oh, you can't prove that.
Sam: Oh, yeah? We got your writing here and it's the same as it is on the policy. Think about that.
Felicia: Listen, why don't we do a special on Bill? We can take him all the way through the criminal justice --
Mr. Levin: I haven't done anything. Look, I have not done anything.
Sam: Tell me everything now.
Mr. Levin: I don't even know an Evan Bates.
Sam: Oh, yeah? Maybe we need to refresh your memory then, huh?
Evan: You know, I can't remember a more perfect fall. It seems like everywhere I look is like a postcard.
Amanda: I wonder if I should put these in water for Alli.
Evan: No, you give those to her just like that. She loves colors.
Amanda: Yeah, she's so visual. She's just like --
Evan: Like her father?
Evan: Has she been talking about him a lot since she's seen him?
Amanda: No, not that much.
Evan: Is she upset or anything like that?
Amanda: No, she's still spending a lot of time with him. She loves him. All I ever hear is, "Daddy, Daddy." Actually, she's been handling this a lot better than I thought she would.
Evan: What about you? How are you handling it?
Amanda: I try not to think about it mostly.
Evan: Is that because Sam is with Olivia? I -- I-- it just came out. I didn't mean to hurt you or anything.
Amanda: Oh, how could it? Sam and I have been over with for months. And if we weren't, how could I have signed the divorce papers?
Evan: That's a good point. It took a lot of letting go for you to do that.
Amanda: Yeah. But now I feel like I'm getting on with my life.
Evan: Well, you are. We are.
Amanda: Sam's so unpredictable. That's what keeps me from relaxing. I mean, especially when it concerns Alli.
Evan: Well, you don't think that he would hurt her?
Amanda: I don't know what he would do. You saw how weird he was when he came by here last night.
Evan: Yeah, he was pretty persistent to talk to you. I don't know about what. Has he bothered you today?
Amanda: No, I haven't heard from him.
Evan: Well, whatever he says to you, do not listen to him. Because I'm sure it's just a bunch of lies.
Amanda: Why don't we change the subject, ok?
Amanda: You realize this is going to be the last picnic for this year.
Evan: Wrong. We're going to have a lot of picnics this winter in front of the fireplace.
Amanda: Well, that sounds romantic.
Evan: It is. Now, you don't have to go back to work, do you?
Evan: Ok, well, there's something else romantic I would like to talk to you about.
Amanda: What's that?
Evan: Well, how about us going away for the weekend? Just the two of us, today.
John: Sharlene, remember when we first found out that you were pregnant? You said that I was acting more like a doctor than a husband.
Sharlene: Yes, I do remember that.
John: Well, you were right. And I have been doing that for months. Listening to you and Taylor talk about your problems and sitting on my own, pretending they didn't exist. I even got angry at you, accused you of not being honest with me. Well, I've kept some things from you, too.
Sharlene: What things?
John: My feelings. I sat back and let you do whatever you wanted to do, even when it hurt me.
Sharlene: John, I never --
John: I know that you never meant to do it. But just like you can't repress your feelings, I can't repress mine either. I was so damned supportive of you, I just swung the door wide open for Grant. Well, that, Sharlene, is over.
Sharlene: What are you -- what are you going to do?
John: Let's start with what I'm not going to do. I am not going to take a back seat. I am not going to stand by and watch another man walk off with my wife.
Sharlene: That isn't happening, John --
John: You're damned right it isn't! Because I'm just not back from France, I am here for good. This is my home. And I'm not about to leave it while you run around with Grant Harrison.
Sharlene: John, I have to see Grant. I have to keep seeing him because he holds the key to so many of Sharly's memories.
John: What about my memories, Sharlene? What about our memories? Do they matter to you at all?
Sharlene: Of course they matter to me.
John: Good. Because in order to protect them, I'm going to make sure that you never lose them or me or our life together while you're finding your new self.
Ken: Rachel, I can't get into this now. I got a rig set up two miles offshore.
Rachel: I don't deserve an explanation?
Ken: You hit the nail on the head last night. I'm afraid of commitment. Nobody can change that, least of all me.
Rachel: And so you just run away?
Ken: I'm not running from anything. I want to be here. The only thing I've ever been faithful to is my work.
Rachel: Why can't you look at me?
Ken: Rachel, give it up. I am not a nice, safe, predictable kind of guy. I am not like Mac.
Rachel: I know you're not like Mac. I don't want you try and be like Mac.
Ken: I don't believe that. Mac was the most wonderful man you've ever met. You told me that yourself I don't know how many times.
Rachel: So you're using him as an excuse? That's exactly what you told me not to do.
Ken: Well, so what if I did? Does that obligate me to be the new man in your life?
Rachel: You are under absolutely no obligation to me whatsoever. You were the one who pursued me.
Ken: You were a challenge.
Rachel: Yes. Yes, that's what you said last night. Well, maybe it started out that way, but I don't think that's all there is to it.
Olivia: Hi. I -- I thought you had gone for coffee with Josie and Reuben.
Matt: Yeah, I changed my mind.
Olivia: I changed my mind, too.
Olivia: I'm not doing the audition. I can't go through with it.
Matt: What is it? Come on, tell me, Olivia.
Olivia: It's me.
Olivia: I'm a lousy person.
Matt: Don't get down on yourself. Don't let Sam get you down.
Olivia: This has nothing to do with Sam. It's not his fault. I keep telling myself that I'm an artist. But an artist should have courage to experience life and to face truths and to deal with them. But I -- I'm a coward. The only thing I care about is myself, and I'm willing to pull anything to get what I want. I should have told Sam the truth, but I deliberately chose not to do it because I thought it would be better for me.
Matt: Looks like it wasn't.
Olivia: I was being selfish. That's it, just selfish. I am so ashamed.
Matt: Well, it looks like you learned something very important from all this.
Olivia: I guess I did. Look, I know you don't like Sam very much, but if it wasn't for him I would have given up ballet months ago.
Matt: I don't believe that. Ballet is part of you, Olivia. Ok, maybe Sam helped you see that. But ultimately it was your decision.
Olivia: No, I don't know.
Matt: Olivia, I've seen you dance and when I watch you, I forget about everything. Except the beauty and magic you convey as you move. Olivia it may not matter to you but you owe it to us to put all this self-pity aside and go in there and audition. Ok, you made a mistake. We all make mistakes. Your life isn't over. I can see how sorry you are about what you did to Sam. I'm sure he will, too.
Olivia: You think so?
Matt: Yes. And that ballet master, whatever his name is, he's going to look at you and he's going to see something. He's going to see you have a warm heart. But he can't see it if you don't dance.
Olivia: You're right.
Matt: See that? You just found out that who you are inside affects everything you do. Let's see what it does to your dancing.
Olivia: Ok. Ok.
Felicia: Sam, give the man a chance to think.
Sam: Fine, I'll help him out.
Sam: Felicia, get off of me! Levin, listen to me now. A few weeks ago, a very pretty blonde girl came to your office looking for a policy for her boyfriend. Does that sound familiar to you?
Mr. Levin: Not really.
Sam: Can it, Levin! She was a friend of mine and she's ready to testify in full detail about that conversation. Now does that sound familiar?
Mr. Levin: Look, I know my rights and I'm not saying anything without a lawyer.
Sam: Do I look like a cop to you?
Felicia: Sam, please.
Sam: I don't give a damn about your rights, do you hear me? You and Bates set me up in a scam to trash my life. Now I'm ready to do the same to you.
Mr. Levin: What do you want? What do you want?
Sam: I want to know everything that you did for Bates.
Mr. Levin: Look, I'm not saying anything and I'm not going to incriminate myself!
Sam: Fine, I'll do the necessary --
Felicia: Sam, please don't do anything you're going to regret.
Sam: Felicia, let go of me now!
Felicia: We need him to talk to get the evidence. Sam. Sam!
Mr. Levin: Ok, ok, ok! I'll tell you about Bates, ok?
Sam: Take a seat now, Mr. Levin.
Mr. Levin: Fine.
Sam: Now, you sit down, you talk, and you tell me the truth.
Mr. Levin: I told you I would and I'll tell you.
Felicia: Get the cameras.
Sam: Ok, start talking.
Mr. Levin: Uh -- a -- a few months ago, this guy Evan Bates came into my office and he said he had a proposition for me and it was going to make me a rich man.
Sharlene: So, you're moving back in.
John: As of tonight.
Sharlene: You made this decision without talking to me. But, John, I don't know -- I don't know what's changed.
John: Listen. Listen and find out.
Please. Sharlene. Sharlene, don't shut me out. The best memories in my life are of you. You used to say that, too.
Remember the snowflake ball? Remember that? It was snowing and we came back and we danced right here, right next to the porch.
Sharlene: And I wasn't even cold.
John: It was our first real date. I was already in love with you.
Sharlene: That seems like so long ago, John.
John: It was another lifetime. I was living on the boat, fighting the pain of being haunted by the past.
Sharlene: And now I'm feeling ...again.
John: Sharlene, I couldn't have fought off any of that pain without you. We used -- we used to help each other.
Remember the night in the barn? The night after Felicia's trial?
Sharlene: I finally told you about myself -- all the men. You didn't leave me, John.
John: Leave you? How could I leave you? Sharlene, I couldn't leave you. You admitted that to clear me. You put me first because you love me.
Sharlene: John, I used to think that's what love was. I'm not so sure anymore. I'm not.
John: Well, we were both surer the first time we made love in that barn. Sure that all of those ugly memories were behind us. It was so right then, we had no secrets.
Sharlene: At least none that we knew about, anyway. I had no idea how much I still had to face about myself.
John: Now we can face it together. Look, Sharlene. Look at this, look around you.
Sharlene: At what, John?
John: At this house. Look at this house. This is where I proposed to you. Or at least where I tried to so many times until I got the courage finally to do it. I remember sitting in front of that fireplace, holding you, knowing that I had the world in my arms.
Sharlene: Oh, John, John.
John: Sharlene, there are memories, shared memories in every corner of this house. Memories of us laughing and making love and being a family. I know that you have those memories.
Sharlene: Yes, you're right. I do, I do.
John: Sharlene, we have a wonderful life together.
Sharlene: We used to.
John: It's not over. And there is no way we are going to lose it. Not after we fought so hard to have it.
Felicia: Ok, "I swear the above testimony is true to the best of my recollection." All I need for you to do is sign it.
Sam: Sign it.
Mr. Levin: There.
Felicia: Thank you very much.
Mr. Levin: Look, uh, are you sure that we have to involve the cops?
Sam: Levin, I don't give a damn about you. I need your testimony to nail Bates. But a word of advice -- don't call Evan. Because if you do, your boss gets copies of everything.
Mr. Levin: Hey, hey, I'm not saying anything to anybody.
Felicia: Good, just make sure you keep it that way. All right.
Sam: Let's go. We're out of here, Felicia.
Felicia: Mr. Levin, it's been a real pleasure. Thank you so much.
Sam: Thank you. I couldn't pull this off without you.
Felicia: When Amanda reads his confession, she's going to know that Evan set you up.
Sam: And Alli will, too. Thank you, Felicia. I couldn't have done this without you. I'm finally gonna clear my name.
Felicia: Well, I think you did the hard part in there. Boy, you were pretty tough and fierce.
Sam: I don't think I could have done without you making that guy cave in, looking so terrified.
Felicia: Ha, ha. I did look kind of scared, didn't I?
Sam: You're very convincing.
Felicia: What are you gonna do now? Gonna go confront Evan or you gonna go to the cops?
Sam: No, I'm going to go see Amanda. I think it's time she learns about her lover.
Felicia: Come on.
Amanda: I can't just pick up and go away like that.
Evan: Why not?
Amanda: Well, for one thing, there's work. I have been taking an awful lot of time off lately.
Evan: Whoa, hold on a second now. Did you sneak away and go on some vacation somewhere that I don't know about?
Evan: Then you deserve a long weekend.
Amanda: What about Alli? She's the real reason that I'm hesitating.
Evan: Well, I know since she's been back, you and I haven't seen very much of each other.
Amanda: Don't make me choose between my daughter and you, Evan.
Evan: I didn't mean to. I was just thinking. Well, all right, how about a quick overnight somewhere? How's that?
Amanda: Well, there's always your apartment.
Evan: No, that's not the same. Come on, you're saying -- why don't we just do it one time? Just be impulsive, throw caution to the wind and go. It's your chance.
Amanda: Hey, that's not fair. That's making it sound like it's so easy.
Evan: It is easy. All you have to do is say yes, pack your swimsuit.
Amanda: Swimsuit? Where are we going?
Evan: Aha. Leave that up to me.
Amanda: Ok, when are we coming back?
Evan: Day after tomorrow.
Amanda: All right, that's not so bad. Alli -- Alli could handle that.
Amanda: I could rearrange my appointments.
Evan: Yes, you could. Now, could you also be ready in an hour?
Amanda: You know, it's going to take me that long to say goodbye to Alli.
Evan: No, maybe that long to get away from your safe little world.
Amanda: All right, stop teasing me.
Evan: I can't, it's a lot of fun. Now, would you hurry up and get ready?
Amanda: Wait a second, what about your things? Why don't you go get your things and meet me back here in like an hour?
Evan: I don't have to. I'm already packed.
Amanda: Well, I guess you're sure of yourself, aren't you?
Evan: Only when it feels as right as this does. Now, would you get out of here and get ready?
Amanda: Ok, ok.
Evan: Hurry up. I want to get this vacation started.
Amanda: You and me both.
Evan: Yes, you can help me. I'd like to confirm my reservation. Yeah, the 5:00 flight, Dominican Republic. Yes, the name is Bates, for two. Ok, thank you.
Matt: Yeah. It was great.
Josie: You were amazing.
Matt: [Laughs] That was the best I've ever seen you dance. You were flawless.
Olivia: It felt pretty good.
Reuben: It was really pretty.
Josie: So did they say anything? I mean, did you get the part?
Olivia: Well, they didn't tell me anything yet. But whatever happens, I owe you, all of you. If you hadn't shown up here, I would've chickened out for sure.
Matt: When do you know, when you do know, you know?
Olivia: I guess they'll call me.
Reuben: Well, then, if you're finished here then, let's take this party to the airport. I just happened to see a limousine outside.
Josie: Oh, a limo? When did you get to be such a big spender?
Reuben: Well, I'm going to talk to him and it probably won't cost us more than a cab.
Josie: Why are you so sure?
Reuben: [Chuckles] Because I am going to talk to the man.
Josie: Oh, yeah. And he'll just have to cave in and lower his rates.
Reuben: That's right, because we'll be taking the Fresh Faces girl and the next star of the Manhattan Ballet Conservatory.
Reuben: So I better get off because this guy is going to be begging us to ride in his bucket.
Josie: We'll see.
Olivia: Sit down here.
Josie: Remember the last time we were both in New York?
Olivia: [Chuckles] We were strangers.
Josie: Now we are sisters.
Olivia: It means a lot to me that you're here. Boy, a few months ago we were really at each other's throats.
Josie: Over something as silly as modeling. I realized a little too late that relationships are more important.
Olivia: Without someone in your life, nothing makes a whole lot of sense.
Josie: You're talking about Sam, right?
Olivia: It's difficult to talk about. I don't know if you would understand.
Josie: Well, I certainly don't want to pry. But if you want to talk, I'm here.
Olivia: I did something really awful. I lied -- I lied to him. I knew I shouldn't have and I couldn't help myself.
Josie: And you don't think that I would understand that? Think about what I did to Matthew.
Olivia: I know, but this is different. I kept something from him, something he desperately needed to know.
Josie: He found out about it?
Olivia: I told him.
Josie: And he flipped?
Olivia: You should have seen his face.
Josie: Olivia, the important thing is that you told him yourself. You did the right thing.
Olivia: Eventually. I just hope I didn't make things worse by waiting. I'm going to go change my clothes.
Olivia: I'll be back.
Evan: Cory residence.
Sam: Ah, Evan, you just make yourself right at home, don't you?
Evan: [Chuckles] You better believe I do.
Sam: Is Amanda there?
Evan: Uh, no, you just missed her. She's on her way to work.
Amanda: Is that Sam on the phone?
Evan: No, it was a wrong number. Are you expecting a call from Sam?
Amanda: Hilda just told me that he called this morning.
Evan: He didn't leave a message? Or is that too much for the mystery man?
Amanda: He did leave a message. Hilda thought I was at work, so she left it with my secretary.
Evan: What did he want?
Amanda: He wanted to talk to me this afternoon. He had some information for me, whatever that means.
Evan: It just means it's another one of his stunts, Amanda. Don't you see that?
Amanda: Well, we had things about Alli to discuss.
Evan: No, that's how he gets to you -- through her. He's been doing that since he came back to town. Now, would you hurry up? I don't want to miss our flight.
Amanda: Flight? Wait a second. How far away are we going?
Evan: Far enough away for you to forget about Sam.
Amanda: If he's going to cause trouble, I really don't know if it's a good idea I should go. What if he tries something with Alli?
Evan: There's going to be a house full of people here. Don't worry about that.
Amanda: I just don't feel right.
[Sighs] Evan, I'm sorry. I really can't go, not now.
Evan: Would it make you feel better if you brought Alli along?
Amanda: You would be willing to do that?
Evan: Well, sure.
Amanda: I know that's not what you had in mind.
Evan: Yeah, we'll be a family. Bring her along, bring Hilda. She can watch her.
Amanda: Ok, um, I'll try. It's kind of short notice, though.
Evan: Listen, we play with Alli during the day and we go out at night. It's the perfect vacation.
Amanda: I don't know.
Evan: We can't let Sam run our lives.
Ken: Go home, Rachel. Forget you ever met me.
Rachel: Why were you playing the music?
Ken: I've loved the music a lot longer than I love --
Ken: Look, I told you last night I do not love you.
Rachel: Yes. And today I don't believe you. Maybe it's because I don't to want to.
Ken: Well, that's your problem. You're making too much out of what happened between us.
Rachel: I don't think so. I think you do care. And that's why you won't look at me. Look at me.
Ken: I do care about you. Too damn much. You'll be a hell of a lot better off if I didn't.
Rachel: Why do you keep saying that? Ow
Rachel: What are you saying? I don't know you at all? That you're such an expert phony?
Ken: I can't argue with that.
Rachel: Then why do you want to end it?
Ken: I have a terrible track record.
Rachel: Oh, we've talked about that.
Ken: I'll just end up hurting you. I don't want to do that.
Rachel: Are you so sure?
Well, then maybe that's a risk I'll have to take.
Ken: Don't take it.
Rachel: You'll have to let me make that decision.
Ken: I should walk away now and never look back.
Rachel: Fine, go ahead. What's stopping you?
Ken: I'm not strong enough.
Rachel: Or maybe what you're feeling makes you strong enough to stay.
Ken: Just remember I warned you. Just remember that.
Sharlene: Memories aren't our whole life, John. They won't make us closer now.
John: You're wrong. I think they will if you stay open to them.
Sharlene: I have to think about now, the future.
John: Sharlene's memories are just as important as Sharly's, just as powerful. Don't close yourself off to them.
Sharlene: John, I'm not. I'm not.
John: Then why do you get so uncomfortable when I talk about them? Why do you get so uncomfortable when I talk about us?
Sharlene: John, because I'm a different person now. I can't be that woman you fell in love with. I can't go back to that.
John: You are that woman.
Sharlene: No. I'm only a part of that woman. Sharly changed everything that was between us, John, and you still won't admit it.
John: Look, I am the first to admit that our lives have changed, but that doesn't mean that I never stopped loving you. Or that what we had wasn't real.
Sharlene: Well, that's the point, John. See, I don't know if what we had was real or wasn't real. Can't you understand that? It's all I can do to handle what is happening right now.
John: Fine, fine. Because I'm here now. I'm here with you.
I'm holding you, feeling our baby grow inside of you.
I want to share my life with you, Sharlene. This isn't about the past. It's about the present. It's about the future. I love the woman you are. The real question is, do you love me?
Josie: All set?
Olivia: Yeah, I think so.
Josie: I haven't seen the guys in a while. You want to just meet them downstairs?
Olivia: Sure, we might as well.
Man: Miss Matthews, can I speak to you for a moment?
Olivia: Oh, certainly, certainly.
[Whispers] Ballet master.
Man: You have impeccable technique and you dance with great emotion.
Olivia: Oh, you have no idea how much it means to hear you say that.
Man: I wish to see you here in a few weeks to do a cameo role in our opening ballet.
Olivia: Oh, thank you so much.
Man: My assistant will call you.
Olivia: Ok, I'll be waiting. Did you hear that?
Olivia: I'm not just a student anymore. I'm going to dance in his company.
Josie: Oh, Olivia, I knew you could do it.
Olivia: Oh, wait till I tell Sam. Everything that happens to me, I keep wanting to share with him.
Josie: Well, come on, he's an artist, too.
Olivia: It's more than that. I just hope he's still speaking to me.
Josie: I'm sure he is.
Olivia: We heard the buzz in the hallway.
Josie: Olivia got a part.
Reuben: Yes, all right!
Olivia: I wouldn't have if you guys didn't drag me over here.
Matt: Well, let's drag you somewhere else. We want to celebrate.
Reuben: That's right. The limo is waiting outside.
Josie: Oh, wait a minute. He pulled it all off?
Matt: I thought this guy was going to hand Reuben the keys.
Reuben: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, let's not keep the man waiting, all right?
Josie: Why, are you afraid he might change his mind?
Reuben: Well, let's just not tempt fate, ok? Besides, I told him that the Fresh Faces girls were through.
Matt: You know, I anticipated more of a smile.
Olivia: I'm smiling.
Matt: It's better, but it's not genuine.
Olivia: It's the best I can do right now, ok?
Matt: If you weren't thinking about Sam, I think it would be better.
Olivia: [Sighs] Look, do you remember when I auditioned last summer and you saw me rehearsing?
Olivia: You said that I had great technique but that I was cold.
Matt: Oh, what did I know?
Olivia: You knew that I hadn't loved yet. And now I have and it hurts. But because of Sam, I'm not cold anymore.
Matt: Don't give him that much credit. This is your day.
Olivia: For a long time Sam was the only one who encouraged me. He's a part of this day, too, and I can't be with him.
Matt: You don't need him. You got me.
Olivia: Well, keep reminding me of that, ok?
Matt: Well, I will, because we're going to spend a lot of time together.
Olivia: Ok, thanks. What would I do without you?
Matt: I don't know, but you don't have to worry about it. Let's party, come on.
Olivia: Where are we going?
Matt: We're going for a limo ride that will knock you out.
Reuben: Hold it, farm girl. I know it's tough on you.
Josie: Does it show?
Reuben: Relax, it's not obvious. You put up a very good front.
Josie: Oh, I'm trying. I'm trying.
Reuben: I know. I know, but it's hard to fool your old manager, remember?
Josie: Yeah. Oh, Reuben, she's my sister. I want to be happy for her.
Reuben: I know. I mean, I know it's hard to see her with Matt.
Josie: I know they're just friends, but seeing them so close, it just makes me miss him so much more.
Reuben: I know, I know.
Reuben: Hey, look at it this way -- you still got me.
Josie: It always does just seem to come back to you and me, doesn't it?
Reuben: Let's go.
Josie: Let's go. Let's have a good time.
Man: Mr. Fowler. You're here to see your wife?
Sam: Yes, isn't she here?
Man: I'm afraid not. I just dropped her off at the airport.
Man: Why, she and Mr. Bates have left the country. They took Alli with them.
Sharlene: Of course I love you.
John: Those are just words. I need more.
Sharlene: Everything's happening so fast, John. Can't we take it just a little slower?
John: No. No, we can't. We have done this your way for too long. We need to be together.
Sharlene: I'm not ready yet.
John: You miss me, I know you do.
Sharlene: It's just too soon.
John: No, it's not. There's one way to find out.
Sam: Out of the country where? All right, look, come on -- I know Amanda probably told you not to tell me anything, but this is an emergency. I need to get in touch with her.
Felicia: He is telling the truth. I mean, he would never hurt Amanda or Alli. If you know where they are, please, can't you help him?
Sam: Look, don't worry about your job, I'm not going to tell anybody it was you. Tell me where she is.
Man: Mr. Bates left his itinerary by the telephone in case of an emergency.
Sam: This is an emergency.
Felicia: Thank you very much.
Sam: Here it is. All right, they left on a flight this afternoon to the Dominican Republic. Why would he take her to the Dominican --
Felicia: I know why. There's no waiting period for a divorce there.
Felicia: Yes, as soon as the papers are signed, the divorce is effective immediately.
Sam: That means Amanda can get married immediately. I got to get out of here.
Amanda: No, no, that's all right. Alli can have the regular meal. Her babysitter will just cut the food up for her.
Evan: Well, you all settled?
Amanda: Oh, yeah, they are doing great. Hilda is thrilled to be going to the Caribbean. And Alli has charmed all the flight attendants and the people in the next row.
Evan: Well, I'm not surprised.
Amanda: I'm really glad you agreed to have her come along. It makes this feel right.
Evan: Well, that's the way I want it to feel when we're together.
Amanda: Do you?
Evan: Don't you know that by now?
Amanda: Oh, yeah, I'm starting to.
Evan: I think Alli and I are going to get much closer on this trip.
Amanda: I hope so.
Evan: And now that I'm with the both of you, we don't have to hide anymore.
Amanda: Isn't that a relief? I don't have to feel like we're sneaking around or playing hooky?
Evan: Yeah, those days are over.
Amanda: I still can't believe we're doing this. It's so impulsive.
Evan: Well, I didn't know you liked surprises so much.
Amanda: Well, now you know. I do, I love them.
Evan: Good, then I'll have to arrange a few more.
Amanda: You will?
Evan: Mm-hmm, definitely. This trip is going to be full of surprises.
