Sam: What do you mean you lied to me? About what?
Olivia: Please, Sam, don't hate me.
Sam: How could I hate you?
Olivia: I have a feeling it will be easy once you hear the truth.
Sam: Olivia, whatever it is, just tell me.
Olivia: You were right about the insurance guy.
Sam: Bill Levin?
Olivia: Yeah. I -- I got him to admit that Evan bought the million dollar policy on Amanda in your name.
Rachel: We've welcomed her into our family and into our lives, and we're hoping you will do the same thing. Paulina Cory.
Rachel: Well, we hope you'll get to know her, because she's a very special person.
Matt: Of course, she is, she's a Cory.
Paulina: I -- I don't know what to say.
Rachel: You don't have to say anything, it's your party.
Amanda: Welcome to the family, Paulina.
Paulina: Thank you, Amanda. Becoming part of this family has made me happier than I ever thought possible.
Ada: Well, let's go pour some champagne and welcome the newest Cory.
Cass: Great idea, Ada.
Evan: Let's go.
Iris: Oh, yeah.
Jake: Congratulations, Paulina. Shall I make the first toast?
Paulina: Don't you dare say a word.
Jake: Well, there's only one thing that will keep my mouth shut.
Paulina: You'll get your damn money.
Jake: Tonight, Paulina, or I cry fake. Excuse me.
Vicky: I am not made of ice! I have feelings!
Ryan: That's it, that's it. Now, scream and holler until you can't scream anymore.
Ryan: Come on, just like this. [Screams]
Ryan: No, louder, louder. You got more, come on.
Vicky: I do not! I'm trying to --
Ryan: Come on, get out loud.
[Ryan and Vicky scream]
Vicky: Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. [Chuckles]
Ryan: Wow. When you let go, you really let go.
Vicky: You had this all planned, didn't you? You -- you deliberately brought me out here to howl at the moon.
Ryan: I had to.
Vicky: You had to?
Ryan: Yeah. I saw the look on your face when you stormed into the Cory mansion.
Ryan: You were about to drop a bomb on your sister.
Vicky: Oh, so you just thought you had to rescue her.
Ryan: No, not Marley -- you.
Ryan: You weren't thinking with all of your circuits, so I had to get you out of there.
Vicky: Mm. And kidnapping is your -- is your specialty, right?
Ryan: Only as a last resort. Uh, but in your case, a word of warning definitely would have been useless.
Vicky: My hero again.
Ryan: I'm not doing so bad so far.
Vicky: And now you're gonna pat yourself on the back?
Ryan: Mm-hmm. Let's see -- one save on horseback, one save in Marius' hideout --
Vicky: Yeah, and then this -- teaching me to scream my lungs out in a mud hole. Ah, romance. Are all of your dates this much fun?
Ryan: Well, why don't you stick around and find out?
Vicky: Well, you seem to know what I need.
Ryan: We're a lot alike.
Vicky: No, we are not.
Ryan: Yes, we are.
Vicky: No, we -- no.
Ryan: Look, when I was growing up, I used to get a lot of -- get into a lot of trouble, too. I would -- for being so noisy.
Vicky: Oh, yeah?
Ryan: For getting into arguments, for, um --
Ryan: [Sighs] Asking all the wrong questions.
Vicky: For, um, not being enough like your brother.
Ryan: No, I couldn't even be myself without making people go nuts.
Vicky: Pretty frustrating, isn't it?
Ryan: Yeah. And when I couldn't take it anymore, I'd come to a place just like this --
Ryan: Near our house. And I'd wait for a train to pass overhead. And when it did, I would curse out my parents and I would curse my life.
Vicky: Did it help?
Ryan: Well, it didn't change my parents.
Vicky: [Chuckles] Oh.
Ryan: But, yeah, afterwards, I always felt a hell of a lot better. You know what?
Ryan: It still works.
Vicky: For you.
Ryan: No, no, for you, too. Do you feel a lot better?
Vicky: I, um, I feel dirty. I -- I want to get out of here.
Ryan: Wait, where are you going?
Vicky: Uh, just anywhere away from you, Ryan. You're much too dangerous.
Matt: Let me guess, Jake bugging you again?
Paulina: No -- no, actually, he was telling me how lucky I am. But I already know that.
Matt: Oh, well, good.
Ada: Ok, if the guest of honor won't come to the party, the party will come to the guest of honor. Have a bit of the bubbly, you two.
Matt: Why, thank you, grandma.
Ada: You look so beautiful. You had any supper yet?
Paulina: Oh, Ada, I'm too nervous to eat.
Ada: Well, then let's drink to the first of many good times we'll have together.
Paulina: I hope there will be more.
Matt: Oh, there will be. This family loves parties.
Matt: Wait a minute. Excuse me, could I have everyone's attention for a moment, please? Ooh, gosh, that certainly does work, doesn't it? [Laughter]
Matt: I think it's about time that we had a formal toast to Paulina. Mac, your father, used to take care of the toast. And I hope nobody minds me stepping in here.
Ada: You're doing fine. Just go ahead, Matt.
Matt: Thanks. Uh, I know Mac would be proud of you. He'd admire your beauty and determination to stand up for who you are. We're just getting to know you -- something Mac didn't have the pleasure of doing. Maybe you can get to know him through us, all of us here. He was a wonderful man and a wonderful father. To Paulina.
All: To Paulina.
Matt: To his daughter.
Amanda: To my sister.
Paulina: I never dreamed this day would come.
Marley: Well, I'm glad things worked out for Paulina. Now she has a family and a future.
Marley: So it will be easier for her to accept not having you.
Felicia: So, Iris, where did you park your broom?
Felicia: Well, you look a little bit like the wicked witch going for Dorothy.
Iris: Oh, go find your old flame.
Felicia: There is nothing between Luke and me, Iris.
Iris: Are you having qualms about having a husband and a lover now? How conventional.
Felicia: Why don't you lighten up, ok? Go join the party.
Iris: There's nothing for me to celebrate. This whole evening's a travesty. You're just all too stupid to realize it.
Cass: Well, it's done now. Paulina is officially a Cory.
Cass: For Rachel's sake, I hope it all works out.
Frankie: So do I.
Rachel: All right, everyone, the music has started. There's dancing on the terrace, so go out and enjoy.
Paulina: Rachel, could I please speak with you alone for a minute?
Rachel: Yes, certainly.
Rachel: We'll go in the library.
Marley: Can we go now?
Jake: Now? It's just starting to get fun. Let's go out on the terrace and dance.
Marley: No, Jake --
Jake: Come on.
Marley: Jake --
Sam: Let me get this straight. You went to Levin and you told him you needed a policy for your boyfriend?
Olivia: Yes, and I asked him for the same kind of favor that he did for Evan.
Sam: And he wasn't suspicious?
Olivia: He was at first, but I told him that I would pay him very well.
Sam: And he went for it?
Sam: How long ago was this?
Olivia: Do you remember the day that I told you that I had spoken to his office and he had left town? It was then.
Sam: But that -- no, that was weeks ago, Olivia.
Olivia: I know.
Sam: [Scoffs] I don't believe this. You kept that evidence from me. You call that helping me? You know how much that meant to me.
Olivia: I know it was wrong.
Sam: Olivia, you are the one person I thought I could trust. The one person to get me through this mess.
Olivia: I was afraid that if I told you the truth, that I would -- I would lose you.
Sam: Lose me, no.
Olivia: I was afraid that you would go back to Amanda. You wouldn't need me anymore.
Sam: So you lied to me?
Olivia: I thought that if Amanda found out what a creep Evan really is, she would leave him and come running back to you.
Sam: Evan, of course. [Sighs] He's behind all this, isn't he?
Evan: Would you stop thinking about it.
Amanda: I wish I could.
Evan: No, I never should have told you about Sam and Olivia.
Amanda: I don't know why I'm so surprised.
Evan: You're hurt, aren't you?
Amanda: It's weird. I'm not jealous. I feel double-crossed. He cheated on me. This whole time he's been fooling around with Olivia. And I've been feeling so guilty because you were in my life.
Evan: That's because you only saw the good side of him. And not until now did you see the real Sam.
Amanda: How could he fool me like this?
Evan: Because you're too busy blaming yourself. Now, just stop it. You get on with the divorce. In a couple months, this whole thing will be behind us.
Amanda: Well, I'm really looking forward to that.
Evan: Listen, I got a great idea. Why don't we forget about Sam for a night. Let's dance, ok? Just hold on to me.
Frankie: Hey, you two. Are you having a private party or is the dance floor open?
Amanda: It's open.
Cass: Shall we, Mary Frances?
Amanda: I should really go inside and find Paulina and my Mom and be a good hostess. Excuse me.
Paulina: This is the most beautiful party. I can't thank you enough.
Rachel: Oh, good. I really enjoyed arranging it. I wanted it to be a very special evening so you would never forget it as long as you live.
Paulina: Oh, well, I won't. Rachel, I wanted to ask you something. It's a favor, really.
Rachel: Do you remember when you first came here, Paulina?
Paulina: As Steven's nanny? Yes, of course.
Rachel: You should have told us then who you really were.
Paulina: I know. I -- I wanted to get to know you first.
Rachel: Never lie to me, Paulina. You must always be honest with me.
Paulina: I, um, I wanted to ask you if there was --
Rachel: You know what I thought at first? I thought you came here looking for the Cory money.
Paulina: And now?
Rachel: And now I think you've come here to try and find yourself.
Paulina: I'm glad you feel that way.
Rachel: I hope you begin to really treat this as though it were your home, as though we really were your family.
Paulina: You're the kindest person I've ever known, Rachel.
Rachel: You never knew Mac.
Paulina: No. I wish I had.
Rachel: Now, what did you want to tell me?
Matt: Where's my -- there she is. There's my date. I feel like dancing.
Rachel: You've interrupted, young man.
Matt: Oh -- oh, I'm sorry.
Paulina: No, no, no, that's quite all right. Look, I just wanted to say thank you, and I wanted to make sure that you're happy with your decision.
Rachel: You know I am. Now, go on, dance.
Matt: You're sure?
Paulina: I'm gonna enjoy my party.
Matt: Playing some great music.
Jamie: Has anyone ever told you what a great dancer you are?
Stacey: I have worked late so many nights that I -- I didn't even know I knew how to dance anymore.
Jamie: You're a natural.
Stacey: No, I think maybe you're a very good partner.
Jamie: That's something I've always admired about you, Stacey.
Stacey: What's that?
Jamie: You know how to have a good time.
Stacey: I know a lot of lawyers would disagree with you on that account. Hey, I wish you didn't feel so down tonight.
Jamie: No, I don't, really.
Stacey: Yeah, you do, really. What, do you think I don't know?
Jamie: I'm sorry.
Stacey: You know, I was thinking about the dark ages -- back when you and I were engaged. Hell, we should have just tied the knot. Maybe we should have saved a lot of emotional grief and everything.
Jamie: We stayed friends.
Stacey: Yeah, that's true.
Jamie: And right now I need that more than anything.
Jake: We can go as soon as I talk to a few people out here, all right? I'll be right back.
Donna: Every time I see you, you're alone. Where's Jake?
Donna: Mingling? I don't see how he can do that. Half the people here won't even speak to him.
Marley: Don't -- don't try and cause trouble, Donna. Jake and I are setting a wedding date tomorrow. He's going to be my husband again.
Matt: I thought I was leading.
Paulina: I'm sorry.
Matt: You seem kind of jumpy. Are you ok?
Paulina: I'm great. I'm just excited, that's all.
Jake: Mind if I cut in?
Matt: Well, I don't know. It's up to Paulina.
Paulina: It's all right, Matt.
Matt: If you say so.
Jake: Thank you.
Matt: I'll be right over here.
Jake: Thank you. [Sighs]
Paulina: I wish you'd stop shadowing me.
Jake: Unless you want to blow your cover all by yourself, you better act like you love this.
Paulina: I hate you.
Jake: I can deal with that. I saw you talking to Rachel earlier. Did you get your check?
Stacey: Oh, here's Jake.
Jamie: With Paulina.
Marley: Excuse me.
Ryan: You know, that's a really good way to break an ankle.
Vicky: You -- you have a better way out of here, why don't you show me, ok?
Ryan: Why do you want to leave?
Vicky: Um --
Ryan: I thought we were having a really good time.
Vicky: Yeah, but all good things must come to an end, right?
Ryan: Why don't you tell me why you think I'm so dangerous.
Vicky: I -- I have to explain that to you?
Ryan: Yeah, you do.
Vicky: Um, I am, um -- I'm starting to feel attracted to you.
Ryan: Oh, no, not that.
Vicky: No, Ryan -- Ryan, please, don't make fun of me. I need someone who is completely different from me, someone who is stable and -- and good and patient --
Ryan: Someone who's safe and predictable --
Ryan: Like Jamie Frame.
Ryan: You really do believe all that, don't you? No wonder your life is so messed up. Jamie never understood you -- never can and never will.
Vicky: Oh, really?
Vicky: And when did you get to be such an expert on -- on Jamie?
Ryan: Because he had you and he let you go.
Ryan: He doesn't get high marks in my book for that.
Ryan: I never would have made that mistake.
Vicky: Which was the mistake then, having me in the first place or letting me go?
Ryan: You know what I'm trying to say. Besides, I think Jamie's and my tastes are oceans apart.
Ryan: For starters --
Ryan: I never would have gone for a woman like Marley.
Vicky: Well, you would be the first.
Ryan: No, I'd take fire and ice over warm and gentle any day.
Vicky: Get me home.
Sam: Tell me, Olivia, what did he say to you to get you to lie to me?
Olivia: He told me that you were using me.
Sam: And you believed him.
Olivia: He told me that my relationship with you was a one-way street. Sam, it's always been hard for me to believe that you really cared for me.
Sam: Tell me, Olivia, did he try and get you to help him to set me up again?
Olivia: No, no, I would never do that. He just warned me to keep quiet if I knew what was good for me.
Sam: Just that?
Olivia: I'm not keeping quiet anymore. I couldn't live with this lie one more second. Sam, I do care for you so much. I know -- I know you don't believe me right now.
Sam: I don't know what to believe.
Olivia: I'll make it up to you. We'll go back to Bay City. We'll find Bill Levin. We'll tell the cops and we'll tell Amanda everything.
Sam: No, you are the one person I thought I could trust through all this. You alone, the one person to get me through this whole sick mess, and you let me down.
Olivia: Don't leave like this.
Sam: I know what I have to do now.
Olivia: Where are you going?
Sam: I'm going to destroy Evan Bates before he destroys me completely.
Olivia: Let me come with you. I can help you.
Sam: Your kind of help I don't need.
Amanda: What's going on?
Jamie: I'm not sure, but Jake just cut in on Matt and Paulina.
Stacey: Jake sure gets around.
Amanda: Did you hear what they were saying?
Jamie: No, but I don't think Paulina is comfortable.
Amanda: Maybe somebody should cut in, you know?
Stacey: Not me.
Rachel: Hey, you guys. I thought you would be dancing.
Jamie: Mom, look over there. Does Paulina seem happy to you?
Rachel: Why is she with Jake?
Amanda: Excuse me.
Donna: [Whispering] What's everybody whispering about? [Normal voice] Oh, Jake. I should have known. I don't understand him. First he flirts with this girl. Then he fires her. Now he's dancing with her. I don't know why he bothered to come tonight in the first place. He's obviously making her uncomfortable.
Jake: You haven't answered my question.
Paulina: Let go of me, Jake. You're holding me too tightly.
Jake: I want my money.
Jamie: I'm cutting in, Jake.
Jake: Actually, Jamie, I'd like to finish this dance.
Jamie: It is finished, right, Paulina?
Paulina: Excuse me.
Jamie: What are you up to now, Jake?
Jake: Oh, I was just having a friendly little dance on a beautiful autumn night. Till you interrupted, that is.
Jamie: Leave Paulina alone.
Jake: Mind your own business.
Jamie: This is my business. It's my house.
Jake: Your Mommy's house, you mean.
Jamie: I think it's time you left, Jake.
Marley: Excuse me, is something wrong here?
Jamie: I've just asked Jake to leave.
Jamie: I'll let him explain. Jake, we're waiting for you.
Marley: Jake was invited to this party -- you have no right to tell him to leave.
Jamie: I'm sorry, but I think Jake realizes he has outstayed his welcome.
Jake: You sure this isn't a personal thing, Jamie?
Jamie: Oh, don't push me, Jake.
Rachel: Jake, you've ruined Paulina's evening.
Jake: Rachel, I just asked her to dance.
Rachel: You broke her heart, Jake.
Jamie: I've asked Jake to leave. It was my idea.
Rachel: I think that was the best thing.
Marley: I -- I can't believe you would -- you would say that. Jake didn't do anything, Rachel.
Rachel: Paulina left this room in tears.
Marley: It is not Jake's fault that Paulina cannot handle her feelings. I can't believe you would be so unfair, Rachel, or so rude.
Donna: Darling, this is Paulina's party. Don't make a scene.
Marley: Well, now, you of all people would blame Jake no matter what happened here.
Donna: Well, what did happen?
Marley: I don't -- nothing happened. Jake, I don't want to stay here any longer, can we please go?
Jake: Marley why don't you stay.
Marley: I --
Jake: No, I think I am the one that they want to leave.
Marley: I don't -- I don't want to stay here. There's nothing for me here. Please, can we go?
Rachel: Well, that was unfortunate.
Donna: Jake loves to make trouble.
Jamie: I hated to make a scene, but Paulina couldn't handle him.
Donna: No, no, no, you did exactly the right thing. No question about it.
Stacey: Paulina, it's all right. Jake is gone.
Matt: I'm sorry. I should never have let you dance with him. And you didn't have to be polite to him.
Stacey: You want to go outside and get some fresh air?
Paulina: No, I'm all right, Stacey, really. Why don't you go join Jamie?
Stacey: Are you sure?
Paulina: Yeah, I'm fine, really.
Stacey: Ok, honey.
Matt: You're not fine, are you?
Paulina: No -- no, I'm not. Can I talk to you, Matt? Come on.
Marley: Well, I'm certainly glad that's over with. I didn't want to come here in the first place.
Jake: You're right, it wasn't such a hot idea.
Marley: What happened? What happened? Jamie and Rachel practically threw you out the door.
Jake: Jamie started the whole thing.
Jake: He hates my guts. You know that.
Marley: Jake, they said Paulina left the room crying. Now, what really happened?
Jake: Marley, I thought I could mend some fences by dancing with her. She freaked out.
Marley: And -- and so Jamie and Rachel blame that on you?
Jake: Jamie came rushing over, and -- and she started screaming. I mean, he played right into it. I mean, he believed that I was the bad guy. I knew the girl was messed up, I just didn't know she was messed up that bad.
Marley: Well, so I suppose that Rachel and Jamie completely overreacted.
Jake: No, it was Paulina's big night. They had to stick up for her. Let's not talk about this, all right? I don't belong at these swank parties anyway.
Marley: I thought you said it was good P.R.
Jake: You're right, I did. But every time I go to these things, I -- I get the feeling that people are looking at me like I have dirt under my fingernails and grease on my shirt or something.
Marley: Oh. Maybe it would help if you would stop thinking about yourself that way.
Jake: I've tried. Listen, Marley, I've been on the outside all my life.
Marley: You -- you haven't with me.
Jake: I know that. When I'm with you, I feel like I have a chance. You know, if you hadn't been there tonight, I would have probably punched Jamie's lights out.
Marley: No, that would have done a lot --
Jake: But I didn't. You see, I'm changing. I am gonna get people to respect me, as long as I have you by my side.
Marley: Jake, I've always believed in you.
Jake: I hope you mean that. You know, without you, nothing makes sense.
Marley: Well, you've got me for the rest of your life.
Jake: I needed to hear you say that.
Marley: It was just one party, so don't make such a big deal out of it.
Jake: You know, you're right. I think I'm gonna go inside and make a couple of apologies.
Marley: Do you think that's really necessary?
Jake: Well, it couldn't hurt. You stay here. I'll be right back, all right?
Cass: What is going on between Paulina and Jake?
Stacey: I don't know.
Cass: Well, he's a lot more to her than just her ex-boss, but I canít figure out what.
Frankie: Well, that's not for lack of trying. I've been watching you watching him watching her all night.
Cass: Something is going on with those two.
Iris: [Slurring] Look, I know there's no love lost between us, all right? But I can tell -- I can tell you're not too thrilled about this adoption thing.
Cass: I never said that, Iris.
Iris: I -- it's all right. You're an intelligent man, I know. I think you should do the family a favor, right? Check into this Paulina thing, I mean, really.
Cass: Rachel's already done that.
Iris: Oh, so little orphan Annie suckered you, too, right?
Cass: It's done, Iris. Go easy on that stuff, will you?
Cass: I think it's time we headed over to Tops for a brandy, don't you?
Frankie: Yes, I do.
Frankie: Why don't you get Rachel so we can say good night, and I'll find Felicia.
Cass: Good, you're on.
Ken: I hope I'm not too late. For the party?
Paulina: It's been an emotional night for me.
Matt: Is that all, I mean, besides Jake?
Paulina: Well, there is something else.
Matt: What? You can tell me.
Paulina: I just -- I hate talking about my problems. Your family's been so wonderful to me.
Matt: Paulina, you are family. We tell each other our problems all the time.
Paulina: Well, it's awkward. You see, I need money. And -- well, I was wondering, now that I'm a Cory, do you think that the banks would loan me some money?
Matt: Why? I mean, you're getting your inheritance in a couple days.
Paulina: Yeah, I know --
Matt: At least part of it.
Paulina: But I have some debts. And now that everyone knows I'm a Cory, it's embarrassing, you know, to owe people money.
Matt: Are you serious? That's it? Talk to my Mom, she'll help you out.
Paulina: No, I really -- she's been generous enough and I hate to ask --
Matt: Talk to her. She won't mind.
Paulina: I really want to handle this myself, Matt, you know?
Matt: Believe me, it'll be --
Rachel: Are you feeling better?
Paulina: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.
Rachel: Well, grandma wants to cut the cake.
Matt: Mom, talk to Paulina for a second.
Rachel: About what?
Matt: Well, she needs cash before her check comes in. She needs it right away, and she didn't want to talk to you. And I said that's crazy, that you'd be happy to write her a check, right?
Rachel: Yes, yes, of course I'll write a check for you. I'm sorry, Paulina. I didn't stop to consider the fact that you're not working any longer and you have expenses you have to cover. I'm sorry that your own check didn't come through for tonight. How much do you need?
Paulina: Uh --
Rachel: Well, now, let's see. Cass said that you were looking at apartments and so you'll need money for that and for furniture. And I expect you'll want a new fall wardrobe, so how is that?
Paulina: Thank you.
Rachel: Good. You mustn't be shy about asking for help, Paulina. That's what families are for.
Matt: That's what I told her.
Rachel: Did Jake spoil this evening for you?
Matt: He almost did.
Rachel: Well, that part of your life is over with. You know what's important about that, Paulina? It's important to find out what kind of a person someone is before it's too late.
Remember that. Now, let's go join the others.
Paulina: Thank you, Matt.
Matt: I know my Mom can be intimidating, but she's really very kind.
Paulina: She's the best. I know that. Look, um, I have to fix my makeup. I'll be in in a few minutes.
Matt: Ok, ok, hurry up, though.
Paulina: Right. Ok, all right. [Gasps]
Jake: Good work. I'll take that. Sign the back.
Paulina: How did you get in here?
Jake: The back.
Paulina: Now get out of here.
Jake: Not so fast. This is just a down payment. I'll expect the rest when you open that great big bank account of yours.
Paulina: You're gonna regret this someday.
Jake: I don't think so. This is a good deal for both of us.
Felicia: Well, Ken, we weren't sure you were gonna make this party.
Ken: I had a few doubts myself.
Frankie: Rough flight?
Ken: Actually, I've been on route since early this morning.
Ken: Hi, Rachel.
Rachel: Hi. Oh, I was worried. What happened?
Ken: It's a long story.
Rachel: Um, excuse us. So, you made it to Nova Scotia.
Ken: Yes. Getting there was no problem. I almost didn't make it out.
Rachel: What happened?
Ken: I was opening up a new dig site in a cave just north of the main excavation. I triggered a rock slide.
Rachel: Was anyone hurt?
Ken: No, but I made it out just in time.
Rachel: I knew something was wrong. We were trying to get hold of you all day.
Ken: All the lines were down. I'm sorry, I couldn't get word to you.
Rachel: Well, the important thing is you're here now. Paulina will be very pleased.
Ken: Oh, where is she?
Rachel: She's in the library. It's been quite a day.
Ken: Has it?
Iris: [Slurring] It certainly has, and it's not over yet. Cheers.
Ken: Ah, I see what you mean.
Rachel: Oh, here she is.
Ken: Sorry I missed your big moment.
Rachel: She was lovely. Everyone was very impressed.
Ken: Did it live up to your expectations?
Paulina: Well, I was a nervous wreck at first, but the Corys helped me get through it. They've been incredible.
Ada: Hey, do I have to eat this cake all by myself or what?
Felicia: Oh, I can sacrifice myself. What about you two? Come on.
Cass: For a friend.
Ken: I need to see you in private. Can you get away?
Paulina: In a few minutes.
Ken: I'll meet you at the gazebo.
Vicky: [Clears throat]
Ryan: Are you gonna tell me what -- what you were going to say to Marley tonight before I stopped you?
Vicky: You -- you mean before you carried me out of the room.
Ryan: Yeah, are you gonna tell me?
Vicky: No. No, it's much too personal. But if it -- if it makes you feel any better, you did the right thing. I would have ruined a lot of people's lives by saying what I wanted to say.
Ryan: Ok, I'll accept that.
Ryan: But I hope one day you can trust me enough to know that you can tell me some of your deep, dark secrets.
Vicky: What, and spoil my air of mystery?
Ryan: No, you could never lose that, Vicky. I don't think the person has been born yet that can understand you completely. However --
Ryan: I'd like to try.
Vicky: Would you?
Ryan: Because you are the most complicated --
Ryan: Beautiful --
Ryan: Infuriating woman I have ever met.
Vicky: In that order?
Ryan: Right now I'd say, um, beautiful is first.
Vicky: Why don't we go take a shower?
Ryan: Just what are you suggesting?
Vicky: We could take a shower and then find out what happens.
Ryan: It's a very tempting offer. Are you sure that's what you want?
Vicky: Did anyone ever tell you that you talk too much?
Ryan: Many people.
Vicky: They were right.
Ryan: Your skin is so soft. Oh, and you still smell so good.
Vicky: That's -- that's the benefit of -- of expensive perfume, it lasts.
Ryan: That's not all it does. You are an incredibly desirable woman. And I have to go home now.
Ryan: Uh, yeah, it's -- it's time to call it a night. It's been an incredible night.
Vicky: Uh, I -- I can't believe you're doing this.
Ryan: Yeah, I can't either.
Vicky: [Scoffs] Good night.
Stacey: Boy, when I interviewed Paulina, I never imagined this would happen.
Amanda: I don't think any of us did.
Ada: Except maybe Paulina.
Stacey: Yeah. Well, anyway, tell Paulina I said good night. I looked for her earlier with Jamie, but I couldn't find her.
Amanda: I think she just went out to get some air with Ken.
Rachel: She's very glad that Ken is back. She was worried about him.
Ada: Paulina isn't the only one.
Evan: Oh, hi. Would you just excuse me just for a minute?
Evan: This party is almost over. Why don't we get out of here?
Evan: Come on, we'll go back to my place.
Amanda: No, not tonight.
Evan: Look, I'll make you forget about Sam, Olivia, everything. We can shut the whole world out.
Amanda: I can't. I mean, what about Mom and Paulina? Paulina might want to talk to me.
Evan: Well, then talk to her tomorrow.
Amanda: You have an answer for everything, don't you?
Evan: Matthew can talk to her. Ken's back, so your Mom can talk -- I'm sure they have a lot of catching up to do alone.
Evan: I'm just pointing out that you're not needed here tonight, ok? I got a big bed at home --
Amanda: Do you?
Evan: Yes, that I would like to share with you if you'd like to come back with me. Don't say no, come on.
Amanda: I can't leave just yet. There's a couple of things I have to do. And I've got to tell Mom where I'm going, ok?
Evan: It's getting late.
Amanda: I wonder who this could be. Sam.
Sam: Amanda, I was hoping you'd be here. There's something I need to tell you right now.
Paulina: Where the hell have you been?
Ken: I would have been here earlier, but I ran into a --
Paulina: Save the adventure story, Ken. I've been trying to reach you everywhere.
Ken: I'm sorry, kiddo. I know you must have been going crazy.
Paulina: That's the understatement of a lifetime. You were gonna get the money?
Ken: The money is no problem.
Paulina: You got it?
Ken: I'm going to be paid outrageously well for my work in Nova Scotia.
Paulina: Ah, going to be.
Ken: But that's not the point. Listen, I thought about this a lot. We can't give in to Jake.
Paulina: You think we have a choice?
Ken: Paulina, this is gonna be the Bermuda Triangle of money. He'll blackmail you for years. We have to tell Rachel everything. It's the only way.
Paulina: There's something you haven't thought of.
Paulina: Jake can't tell anyone what he knows about us unless he's willing to admit how he got his information. I don't think Marley will be too impressed, do you?
Ken: What, he was desperate for money? That's not enough to keep him quiet.
Paulina: Uh-uh, that's not what I'm talking about. He's crazy about her. And she's rich. Unless nothing and nobody wrecks his plan, he'll probably be marrying her next month. And she's a lifelong gravy train.
Ken: Rachel deserves to know the whole story.
Paulina: I'm in too deep, Ken. I've come this far, I'm not going back. Everyone believes I'm Paulina Cory. Only you, Jake, and I know the truth. And that's the way it's going to stay.
