Ken: Hello, Matthew. Rachel.
Rachel: What are you doing here?
Ken: I need to ask you a very important question. Um, Matthew, would you mind if I spoke to your mother in private for just a minute?
Matt: Sure. Excuse me.
Rachel: Ken, this isn't a really good time. If you had called first, if...
Ken: I can't ask this over the phone. This has to be done face to face.
Felicia: I just saw you come in, Iris, and your secretary conveniently wasn't at her desk.
Iris: So, of course, you barged right in without knocking?
Felicia: Well, I didn't want to give you the opportunity to say you were too busy.
Iris: I am too busy. I've just come from an exhausting meeting, and I'm not in the mood for a chat.
Felicia: Lucas needs help, Iris.
Iris: I know that.
Felicia: He's going through a very rough time.
Iris: Felicia, when are you going to learn to mind your own business?
Felicia: Lucas is my business.
Iris: No, I'm the one he's marrying.
Felicia: Well, I'm his friend. And like it or not, you try and shut me out, I think it could be a very big mistake.
[Knock at door]
Iris: Look, I have an appointment.
Felicia: He needs help.
Iris: And I'll give him all the help he needs. Now, please leave. I'm very busy.
Felicia: [Sighs] Have a lovely evening, Iris. Detective.
Iris: Courtney, have you made a--an arrest yet?
Courtney: Not yet, and I think there's something else you should know.
Iris: Oh, what's that?
Courtney: I don't think Evan Bates did it alone.
Iris: No, of course he didn't. There are a lot of contacts he has. It would be--
Courtney: Mrs. Wheeler, I think his accomplice was your sister.
Amanda: It's good to have you back, Sam.
Sam: Is it?
Amanda: Come on, I was worried sick about you.
Amanda: I didn't know where you were. I didn't even know if you were coming back.
Sam: Let me ask you something.
Sam: Did you really want me to come home?
Amanda: What are you talking about?
Sam: You think I was the one who stole the funds and that I set up Evan for the fall, don't you?
Amanda: Did Vicky tell you that?
Sam: What has Vicky got to do with this?
Sam: You told Vicky that you thought I was behind the theft?
Amanda: Look, there was a moment there when I thought it could have been possible that you did, yes. But I didn't want to believe that, Sam. You've got to understand.
Sam: Oh, ok, so now I have been exonerated. Is that it?
Amanda: I spoke to Mitch. He said that he hadn't spoken to you in weeks. And you told me that the night of the break-in that you had been talking with him. What am I supposed to think?
Sam: The worst, obviously.
Amanda: Sam, you lied to me about where you were that night. It's no secret how you feel about Evan.
Sam: Right. So you think I'd do that to your family, huh? You think that I could be so angry with you that I would hurt everyone in this house just to get even with you? Is that it?
Amanda: Sam, I knew in my heart that you couldn't do it. I know you.
Sam: You don't know me at all, Amanda.
Amanda: You're my husband--
Sam: I haven't been that to you for a long time and we both know it.
Amanda: You're right. And I haven't been very much of a wife, either.
[Sighs] I didn't really think that you could have been responsible for the thefts, but part of me did dread it. Basically, because I knew that if it was true, that it would be me to blame.
Sam: How do you figure that?
Amanda: Because I would have driven you to it.
Amanda: I slept with Evan, Sam. I've been lying to you about it for months.
Iris: You think my sister Amanda helped mastermind the theft from her own family's business?
Courtney: Mrs. Wheeler, when we went to Evan Bates' apartment earlier, you know, to take him in for further questioning, we couldn't, because he wasn't there, but Amanda was.
Courtney: She was nervous, I mean, agitated. And when I pushed her, she tried to say that there hadn't really been a theft at all.
Iris: She what?
Courtney: She said the missing funds were due to a computer error.
Iris: Oh, that's ridiculous. We--we ruled out that possibility a week ago.
Courtney: I believe she was trying to protect Evan Bates.
Iris: That's--that's nonsense.
Courtney: I don't have any evidence yet, Mrs. Wheeler, but I intend to find out why Amanda is so protective over Evan.
Iris: Look, this is a very delicate matter. You haven't pressed charges yet, have you?
Courtney: Are you dropping the charges?
Iris: No, of course not. It's just that I would like some time to pursue this matter myself. And, look, if I need any of your help, I'll--
Courtney: Listen, the D.A. is involved and I have been instructed to question Evan Bates. I can't pretend that it never happened or that it was never reported to my office.
Iris: I realize that. I would like to consult Mrs. Cory.
Courtney: You can consult whomever you wish. I will do the same. Listen, I am sorry. I wish I hadn't found out what I did.
Iris: Oh, hi. I--I was just going out.
Lucas: How did you know I was here?
Iris: I didn't. I'm just leaving.
Lucas: I have to talk to you, Iris.
Iris: Well, darling, not now. I've got a family crisis. Can't it wait?
Lucas: Not if you want to get married in June.
Iris: What are you talking about?
Lucas: Iris, I need your help or you're going to be the only one standing at the altar at our wedding.
Josie: Get in here.
Reuben: What's with you?
Josie: I have had it up to here, and you are the only person I can talk to.
Reuben: What's wrong?
Josie: You're my best friend, right?
Reuben: Uh-oh. Look at the time. I'll be seeing you sometime next week.
Josie: Don't you dare walk out on me.
Reuben: I hate it when you start a sentence with, "you're my best friend, right?" You want something, don't you?
Josie: Well, what's wrong with that?
Reuben: Because you never ask for regular stuff like, "can I borrow 10 bucks?" Or--or "can you pick up my dry cleaning?"
Josie: I just need you to call Matthew for me.
Reuben: He's your old man. You do it.
Josie: I have been; he won't take my calls.
Reuben: He's ticked.
Josie: And I have to get him un-ticked.
Reuben: Josie, I need a scoreboard to keep up with you two. A couple of weeks ago I'm at the Justice of the Peace with rings for you and your boyfriend. Next thing I know, you're skipping down the aisle like two laughing hyenas.
Josie: I made a mistake. Matthew's being so stubborn.
Reuben: I don't blame him.
Josie: Not you, too.
Reuben: Especially after you--what you pulled with your sister. Josie, that was really low.
Josie: She's done things to me, too, you know.
Reuben: So that makes it right?
Josie: I was kidding. It was a joke.
Reuben: Look, Jos, Matt will forgive you. Just let the boy be mad at you for a while, all right?
Josie: I hate it when Matthew's mad at me.
Reuben: Well, then get yourself together. You're starting to act like somebody I don't even know anymore.
Josie: Olivia's not the only reason Matthew's mad. He's mad at me about something else.
Reuben: What did you do?
Josie: Well, when I--I got that second marked-up photo in the mail, I--I went to Lucas. And Matthew showed up and he--he got all the wrong ideas. That's why he is not speaking to me.
Reuben: He thinks you and Lucas?
Josie: I know. Isn't it ridiculous? Reuben, I know if he would just listen to me, I could set his mind at ease.
Reuben: So what's your plan?
Josie: You'll do it?
Reuben: Lay the plan on me first.
Josie: Ok, ok. I just want you to call Matthew and ask him to go out.
Reuben: Oh, I get it. So while Matt's with me, then you show up and you say, "oh, Matthew, what a surprise seeing you." Right?
Josie: Pretty good, huh?
Reuben: I think Eve pulled that one on Adam.
Josie: I don't care. I know it'll work. He'll have to talk to me. We'll be in a public place, and he won't want to cause a scene. You know Matthew doesn't like to cause scenes.
Reuben: I just don't like this, Jos.
Josie: Come on, Reuben, we're friends. We're all friends here. You don't want to see Matthew and I apart any more than--
Reuben: All right, all right, all right. Stop harping at me.
Josie: Oh, Reuben, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Reuben: Don't thank me yet. I still don't like this. Don't know how to say no to you.
Josie: I know. I'll dial.
Rachel: I really--oh, my gosh, it's a zoo around here.
Ken: Matthew got it. You seem a little wired.
Rachel: Well, we've got some problems over at Cory and, um, and my daughter and--and her, um, husband are having--you know it's just...
Ken: Yeah, I get the picture.
Ken: No, that's ok, don't be. Uh, ok, here's my question. I came over to find out if you would go out with me.
Rachel: Go out with you?
Ken: Yeah, on a date. Remember those?
Rachel: You mean, where I come down the stairs and you're standing there with a flower?
Ken: Yeah. So what do you say?
Amanda: I never meant to hurt you.
Sam: Of course. Huh. That's why you had an affair on me.
Amanda: It wasn't an--it was--it was one night.
Sam: Oh, well, one night.
Amanda: Look, I don't have any excuses. I didn't know how to tell you. I--I'm sorry for that. I'm sorry for everything. Would you say something?
Sam: What do you want me to say, huh?
Sam: I can't.
Amanda: Sam, don't you shut me out.
Sam: I don't think you're one to talk about shutting people out.
Amanda: All right. I may not have any right to ask for anything from you, but, please, let's talk about this, ok?
Sam: What do you want me to do...ask you questions? Get all the sordid details, is that it?
Sam: I have a right to a reaction, don't I?
Amanda: Sam, you've just seemed so distant lately. I think that's one of the reasons that--that I'm telling you this, finally. I can't stand the way we've been living lately.
Sam: Well, personally, I'm crazy about it.
Amanda: I've been trying to make you understand.
Sam: Understand? Oh, I understand. My wife slept with another man. I understand. You've been lying to me for God knows how long. I understand that. How long have you been lying to me, Amanda, huh?
Amanda: Ever since my father died, I have felt so empty. When I lost him, I thought that I lost the one person that I could turn to no matter what. He was my anchor.
Sam: And what the hell was I?
Amanda: You can't replace my father.
Sam: No, you've made that very clear.
Amanda: But I needed you.
Sam: Ok, so I moved back into this house with you and our daughter, so we could help your mother through her grief. Hmm?
Amanda: And we did help her.
Sam: You argued with her. You argued with her, you argued with your brother, and you isolated yourself because of that anger of yours, and then you use that isolation as an excuse to betray me. Amanda, we all knew. Everyone in this house knew, from me to your grandmother. We knew how devastated you were by Mac's death. And we tried, we did. We tried to help you, but you didn't want that.
Amanda: I don't know what to say.
Sam: That makes two of us.
Amanda: Well, then I guess we have to make a decision, don't we? We either have to try to make it work... or we end it.
Sam: That sums it up, doesn't it?
Amanda: Do you want to end it, Sam?
Iris: Well, now what's happened?
Lucas: I haven't heard a word from that Senate subcommittee in weeks.
Iris: Oh, well, that's good. Maybe it means you're not their prime target anymore.
Lucas: No, it means that they're digging deeper, and they're not coming up empty- handed.
Iris: Are you sure?
Lucas: No, but I'd feel a lot better if I had something on Grant Harrison.
Iris: Well, like what?
Lucas: I don't know, but there's got to be something. There's a news conference today at Tops. He raised some money for a new building at the university or something. And, well, Matthew is giving the formal thank yous, and I think it might be a lovely opportunity for you...
Iris: Darling, I talked to him before. He wouldn't give me the time of day, remember?
Lucas: Well, maybe if we dangle the right carrot in front of him, he might.
Iris: What's the right carrot?
Lucas: A cover story in "Brava."
Iris: A cover? Well, he--he turned down a story. I--I--ok, a cover.
Lucas: You will do it?
Iris: Well, if you think it will help, of course I'll do it, absolutely.
Lucas: [Sighs] I hope this works.
Iris: Well, we'll give it a try. Now, I really have to go. I have to see Rachel.
Lucas: What--but wait. I have a surprise for you.
Iris: What sort of a surprise? What is it?
Lucas: Well, why don't you stay and let me show you?
Iris: Darling, look, I'd love to, but I can't. Believe me, I have to go. I'll--I'll ring you later.
Lucas: Sure, sure, sure.
Iris: Hey, keep that chin up. We'll get through this. I've got everything under control.
Lucas: Hello, this is Lucas. I ordered something to be delivered this evening. Uh, I've had a change of plans.
Felicia: Iris, I want--oh, well, you're not Iris, are you?
Lucas: [Chuckles] You don't seem too disappointed.
Rachel: You can't be serious.
Ken: I can't?
Rachel: Well, I--I stayed in--in a room above your shop for weeks and--and we stayed together in the same tent when we were out in the desert, and now you want me to go out with you?
Ken: Yeah, what do you say?
Rachel: Ken, I left Odyssey. I mean, uh, you know, I-I wanted to put some space between us.
Ken: I under--I know, I understand that. But, jeez, when we bumped into each other at that concert, as soon as that music started, I knew there was no way I was going to let you out of my life yet.
Ken: Come on, one date. If it's a disaster, we'll call it off.
Rachel: I haven't been on a date since I was--
Ken: Ok, strike date. Call it something else. Hell, we went out to dinner together and we didn't go up in smoke. So, what do you say?
Rachel: I don't think I want to.
Ken: Don't you like me? Is that a toughie?
Rachel: No, I--I like--I like you.
Ken: Yeah, and we got along in the desert ok, right?
Rachel: Well, most of the time.
Ken: And we have things in common, right?
Rachel: Besides Mac?
Ken: Yes, and you like me. You already admitted that.
Rachel: Well, I like you. I'm beginning to regret I said this, you know.
Ken: Oh, come on. There's only one choice to make here.
Rachel: What is that?
Ken: We go forward... or else we call the whole thing off right now. It's your call.
Reuben: It's done.
Josie: He's gonna meet you?
Reuben: Half hour at the Pelican, ok?
Josie: Oh, Reuben, you are the best!
Reuben: I just don't like lying to Matt like this.
Josie: Oh, he'll thank you himself one day, I promise.
Reuben: [Imitates crying] I just feel so cheap.
Josie: Oh, would you get out of here?
Josie: You don't want to be late.
Reuben: What time are you gonna be strutting in there?
Josie: I'll find the right moment when I find the right outfit.
Reuben: Oh, no. No way, uh-uh.
Reuben: Why don't you wear what you got on now?
Josie: This? I'd rather die.
Reuben: Well, it's been good knowing you.
Josie: Wait, why don't you want me to change?
Reuben: Because in case you haven't noticed, Matt is a pretty smart guy.
Reuben: So if you go strutting in there like--like Michelle Pfeiffer in spandex, I'm going to pass right out and the boy's never going to talk to either one of us ever again.
Reuben: Did you take a stupid pill this morning? The boy will know it's a setup and he'll flip out.
Josie: I promise to be subdued. No spandex.
Reuben: Or leather?
Josie: I can't wear leather?
Reuben: Go ahead, go ahead. I'm a pushover with you.
Josie: I'll see you at the Pelican.
Reuben: All right. Lock the door behind me, too. You never lock the door anymore.
Josie: Oh--oh, I will. I mean, especially with that--that nut out there.
Reuben: You haven't heard from that guy again, have you?
Josie: No, no, thank goodness.
Reuben: Good. All right, I'll see you, all right?
Josie: Ok. Reuben, I owe you one.
Reuben: Will you lock the door?
Lucas: Seems as if my plans have changed a bit. That would be fine. Thank you. Well, it seems as if you and Iris are getting very chummy.
Felicia: Oh, please, Luke.
Lucas: Well, then why are you here?
Felicia: Actually, I would like Iris to keep me better informed.
Lucas: About what?
Felicia: About the government committee, of course.
Lucas: Oh, well, why didn't you ask me to inform you about that?
Felicia: Well, as I recall, we're supposed to be avoiding each other, remember?
Lucas: Yes, I remember. Do you remember everything I tell you?
Felicia: Mmm, I try to, yes.
Lucas: Yeah. Well, there's not a lot to tell on that front, I'm afraid.
Felicia: Nothing, really?
[Knock at door]
Lucas: Mmm, not much. Excuse me, that must be for me. Ah, terrific. Wait a second. There you go.
Delivery man: Oh, thank you. Is there anything else I can get you?
Lucas: No, this is great. Thanks a lot.
Delivery man: You're welcome.
Lucas: Mmm. So, do we have enough here? What do you say, huh? Not too shabby?
Felicia: Is that for Iris?
Lucas: Well, it was, but I don't know. She left me high and dry. Hmm?
Felicia: Fresh oysters?
Lucas: Yes, flown in this morning from New England.
Felicia: And blueberry pie.
Lucas: Mm-hmm, blueberry pie.
Felicia: [Sighs] Oh.
Lucas: Why don't you join me?
Felicia: Oh, well... you know, Iris is probably gonna come back.
Lucas: No, no, no, she's not. She doesn't even know about this.
Felicia: No, no, no. I think I better get going. No, no.
Lucas: Are you afraid to be alone with me?
Felicia: Oh, can it, Luke.
Lucas: I was just worrying about wasting food.
Matt: I am so glad you called me. Josie's been calling me all day. I had to get out of the house.
Reuben: Uh, how--how've you been doing, Matt?
Reuben: That's good, that's good, that's good. You--you look good. You look--you look very good.
Matt: Thanks. You look good, too.
Reuben: Thank you.
Matt: Hey, you still studying up for those SATs?
Reuben: When I'm not running ragged over Winthrop and Winthrop.
Matt: I got a great study guide for you. Add easy 25 points to your--
Reuben: Josie, how's Josie doing?
Matt: I don't know.
Reuben: Oh, uh--you two have a fight?
Matt: You could say that.
Reuben: Well, I'm sure you two will work it out.
Matt: Well, listen, can we talk about something else? I've been cramming for finals. The last thing I want to discuss--
Reuben: Josie. Look, Josie's here. Look at that.
Matt: Hey, let's go somewhere else.
Reuben: Oh, come on, come on. Yo, Josie. Jos, come here.
Reuben: What? She's going to see us, man.
Matt: I don't care if she sees us or not. I don't want to talk to her. Do you understand?
Josie: Hi, guys.
Reuben: Hey, Josie, how you doing?
Matt: Is this your idea, Reuben?
Josie: It's good to see you, Matthew.
Matt: Who set this up? What do you--what do you two think I'm an idiot? You think this is gonna work?
Reuben: Oh, come on, Matt.
Matt: You can forget it, ok?
Amanda: Sam, come on, say something. Come on, call me names. Scream at me, do something, don't just check out. I made a mistake. I made a big mistake. But I don't want to be with Evan. I want to be with you and Alli. I want our love back.
Sam: What about what I want?
Amanda: Ok, tell me. Whatever it is, I'll do it. What do you want me to do?
Sam: I want you to be mine. Just mine. I want you to love me so completely that you would die without me.
Sam: What am I supposed to do now? I--I--just forgive you, ok? How am I supposed to do this? Just hold open my arms to you, because your love is so strong, that Evan doesn't exist for you anymore. That he never existed for you. That what you did didn't mean anything to you.
Amanda: Sam, please stop.
Sam: That when he held you, when he wrapped himself around you--
Amanda: Sam, please.
Sam: ...That you were always thinking about me, is that it? When did you start thinking about me again? When?
Amanda: Sam, I love you. I do.
Sam: Why the change? Why the change of heart?
Sam: Why are you telling me this now, hmm?
Amanda: Because I couldn't stand the way we had become. Look, I finally realized that if we were going to have any chance at all, that we had to be honest with each other again.
Sam: Is that it?
Amanda: What do you mean--is that it?
Sam: Is there anything else you want to tell me?
Amanda: Sam, what else could there be? Where are you going?
Sam: I'm going to take a walk.
Amanda: No, you stay right here.
Sam: Don't you... don't you tell me ever what to do. I can't breathe in here anymore.
Ken: All right, all right, forget that. What about tonight?
Rachel: I don't know. Sam? Sam?
Iris: Rachel, I need to talk to you alone.
Rachel: Don't you ever use the phone?
Iris: This is urgent.
Rachel: Isn't it always?
Iris: Ok, you want to wash your dirty laundry in front of a complete stranger, that's fine. Your daughter is under investigation by the Police.
Iris: That's right. They think she is an accessory to the thefts at Cory.
Ken: Why don't I wait on the terrace?
Rachel: Who thinks so? Iris, who thinks so?
Iris: You know, this is quite ironic, really.
Rachel: Just tell me what you know, Iris.
Iris: You all made such a big deal about my so-called betrayal of Daddy, and here it looks like your precious little daughter is the real criminal in the family.
Rachel: Just tell me what you know, Iris.
Iris: Amanda is in serious trouble with the Police. And it seems I'm the only one who can help her. The question is, will I?
Amanda: What are you talking about, Iris?
Iris: What on earth were you doing in Evan's suite earlier today?
Amanda: That's none of your business.
Iris: Look, the Police came to my office to tell me that you're under investigation for the thefts at Cory, along with Evan, and you tell me it's none of my business?
Rachel: Amanda, why don't you tell me what's going on?
Amanda: I was at Evan's earlier.
Rachel: Oh, Amanda.
Amanda: Courtney talked to me there.
Iris: Oh yes, that's right and you told her that these missing funds were just due to a computer error.
Amanda: It is a possibility.
Rachel: Amanda, we're talking about millions of dollars here.
Amanda: Mom, Evan was very worried about those thefts and the money missing. He was--it's the truth.
Iris: Oh yes, well, I find that pretty odd from a man who left the company under such unhappy terms.
Amanda: I don't know--I just think that we should check the computers again before we press any charges.
Iris: This is preposterous.
Rachel: Why do you think we should?
Iris: Amanda, the Police are convinced that you're an accessory or that you're covering up for Evan. Do you understand that?
Rachel: You really want us to buy that this is a computer error?
Amanda: Yes, I do.
Iris: Are you so besotted by Evan that you're prepared to go to jail for him?
Amanda: No, nobody is going to jail.
Iris: Look, you will if I don't help you.
Amanda: I don't need your help.
Iris: Oh, yes you do, little sister. And if I was you, I'd be very nice to me, because I'm the only one who can cover for you with the Police.
Amanda: You're what?
Iris: Look, I know what it's like to make a mistake in judgment. And I know that those mistakes sometimes--sometimes hurt the people you love most. I don't know why you did what you did. Goodness, most people don't understand the reason why I did half the things I've done in my life, except Daddy. He always understood, and that's why I'm going to do what he would've done. I'm going to forget about it and try and help you.
Iris: Because--because it's only money. And because it would be bad for Cory to drag this out in the open anymore than it already has been.
Amanda: I would never do anything to hurt Cory Publishing.
Iris: Oh, I wish I could believe that. And I wish you had as much loyalty for Daddy's company as you seem to have for Evan. But don't worry, I do--I do know what you are going through, and I do know what it would've meant to me to have had some--some family support when I made my mistakes. And to have been forgiven.
Rachel: Iris, I want to talk to Amanda alone.
Iris: Just one more thing. As of now, Rachel, any debt I owe you, consider it paid in full. Oh, good night.
Rachel: Sit down. Suppose you tell me what's been going on?
Amanda: Evan did steal the money.
Amanda: But he put it all back, every last cent of it.
Rachel: Are you absolutely certain about that?
Amanda: Yes, because I'm the one that helped put it back.
Rachel: I don't believe this.
Amanda: Mom, I did this so that it would all be over. The money is back. There's no bad publicity, and I'm never going to see Evan again. That's it, it's all over.
Rachel: Amanda, you think because you put the money back, it's over? Everything's going to be fine? What's the matter with you? Amanda.
Sam: Let her go, Rachel.
Matt: Look, this isn't going to work, so why don't the two of you go somewhere else?
Josie: You haven't taken my calls.
Matt: That's right, Josie, I haven't.
Josie: If we don't talk about this, we're never going to work out our problems.
Matt: Maybe I don't want to work it out. You ever think of that?
Josie: No, because I know that's a lie. I love you and I know you love me. You're just--just disappointed in me right now.
Matt: Disappointed? I've been--I've had it up to here with you.
Josie: I did what I did because I'm afraid. I'm afraid of losing everything. You know how important my career is to me.
Matt: Spare me the number about your career.
Josie: And then--and that fan. That fan--he's following me around and he's sending me marked-up pictures.
Matt: Hey, why don't you tell Lucas?
Josie: I'm terrified.
Matt: Tell Lucas. Maybe you can wear his bathrobe, or whatever the hell you were doing over there in the first place.
Josie: The reason I went to Lucas--
Matt: I know why you went to Lucas.
Josie: ...Was to get his sympathy.
Reuben oh, boy.
Matt: What are you talking about?
Josie: I'm trying to be totally honest with you. Lucas hasn't been giving me work in weeks. I thought this fan thing-I thought it would make him feel sorry for me. I--I thought it would help him notice me again.
Matt: That's sick, Josie.
Josie: Maybe, but it isn't what you think.
Matt: And you letting her sweet talk you into getting me down here.
Reuben: I know it was low, Matt. I just don't like seeing you two fight. And she was pretty insistent.
Matt: I'm sure she was, Reuben.
Josie: Even though we've been fighting since I got here, it's a lot better than not being together at all.
Matt: Josie, you can't have it both ways. I think you made your choice.
Josie: Then I guess I better go.
Matt: I think you should.
Josie: Would you mind driving me home? Olivia is not there and I'm scared to go home alone.
Josie: Thank you.
Matt: Why not?
Josie: Good night, Reuben.
Reuben: Good night, Josie. Good luck, farm girl. You're going to need it.
Felicia: This is nice, Luke. This is really nice.
Lucas: I'm glad you approve.
Felicia: I do approve. Except, you know, the place--it's not exactly perfect.
Felicia: Uh, the corkscrew, we don't have one.
Lucas: Oh, in the top drawer under the tissue box.
Felicia: I should've known. Gee, Iris has a real sweet tooth, doesn't she?
Lucas: Yeah, I know.
Felicia: I mean, there must be 5 pounds of chocolate in here.
Lucas: [Chuckles] Well, Iris likes to be prepared.
Felicia: For what? You could choke a horse with this much chocolate.
Lucas: Fanny, Fanny, Fanny, thanks for joining me.
Felicia: Well, you know, really didn't want the food to go to waste.
Lucas: Well, you know, I thought it could go either way, to tell you the truth.
Felicia: Well, friends I'd like us to be and friends do eat together, don't they?
Lucas: Sure, sometimes on the floor of one of the friend's fiancee's office.
Felicia: Well, it's a crazy world, and crazy things happen.
Lucas: Yeah, it sure is.
Lucas: It's too bad this stuff doesn't appeal to you.
Felicia: [Chuckles] It's wonderful. It really is wonderful. I can't believe that Iris actually passed this up.
Lucas: Well, she didn't really pass it up. See, I ordered it all as a surprise, and then I don't know, some emergency came up and she had to leave and...
Felicia: Didn't you tell her what she'd be missing?
Lucas: No, I didn't. I wonder why.
Felicia: Good. Well, you know, if I--if I gain 10 pounds on this, it's going to be your fault.
Lucas: [Chuckles] I'll take the rap.
Felicia: You know, your fiancee thinks that I should stay out of your life, you know that?
Lucas: Does she?
Felicia: Mm-hmm. And when I'm feeling very guilty, I think maybe she might be right.
Lucas: Iris is a very intelligent woman. But she's not always right. And on top of that, if she ever tells you to stay out of my life again, tell her she'll have to answer to me.
Felicia: Isn't that funny? You know, that's exactly what I told her you would say.
Lucas: Yeah. I'm glad you are here with me, Fanny.
Felicia: I am, too. It's fun.
Lucas: Yeah. You know something?
Lucas: Everything's going to be fine.
Sam: You know, too, don't you?
Rachel: About Amanda?
Sam: And Evan? Did she tell you herself?
Rachel: Yes. She said that she would tell you.
Sam: That she did, that she did.
Rachel: I know how you're feeling.
Sam: Oh, man, nobody can know how I'm feeling.
Rachel: She regrets it, Sam.
Sam: That's what she says.
Rachel: She's very confused right now.
Sam: Is that supposed to make me feel better, Rachel?
Rachel: Sam, I would've done anything I could to keep this from happening. But I'm her mother, I cannot judge her. I can only help her through this mistake and--and forgive her. Can you do that for her, too?
Sam: Forgive her for trashing everything that ever meant anything to me?
Rachel: Mac forgave me, Sam, and we went on to have a lovely life together because he did that.
Sam: I'm not Mac.
Rachel: But you love her, Sam. In spite of everything she's done, in spite of all the betrayals, can you just turn your back on those feelings?
Sam: You want to know something, Rachel? I don't feel a thing. Funny, isn't it? Not a damn thing.
Rachel: Oh, Sam.
Sam: Not a thing, Rachel.
Amanda: What are you doing here?
Ken: Looking for you.
Amanda: Did my mother send you?
Ken: Go back in there and talk to her.
Ken: Because she's worried about you, and so am I.
Amanda: You don't even know me.
Ken: No, but I know your mother and she matters to me.
Amanda: Well, I certainly can't talk about this to you.
Ken: Fine, but talk to her. Don't you see what you're doing to her?
Amanda: I'm not doing anything to her.
Ken: She has been agonizing over you ever since the day I met her.
Amanda: Just leave me alone.
Ken: Look, you think you can handle this on your own, but you can't. You're leaving a trail a novice could follow. Your mother sees it. She wants to help you, but you won't let her.
Amanda: I can take care of myself.
Ken: No, you can't, Amanda, and it's obvious, now more than ever.
Amanda: How dare you?
Ken: Look, I don't know the details. I don't want to know the details. But if you're keeping your mother out so you can help this Bates, then you're making a very big mistake.
Amanda: Just who do you think you are?
Ken: Just somebody who is trying to help.
Amanda: Well, you can cut the fatherly tone because I'm not buying it. I know exactly what you're up to.
Ken: What am I up to?
Amanda: You're trying to weasel your way into this family in any possible way that you can think of. Well, it's not going to happen--not as long as I'm around. I'm going to make sure that you never belong here. My mother will never love you like she loved my father.
Josie: Well, here we are.
Matt: Everything looks ok.
Josie: Could you just check inside first, please?
Matt: What the heck is...
Josie: What is it?
Matt: Just stay in the hall, Josie.
Josie: Be careful, Matthew.
Matt: Just stay in the hall, will you?
Matt: It's ok, no one's here.
Josie: Oh, thank goodness. What are you doing?
Matt: Calling the cops. What else?
Josie: Don't do that.
Matt: Josie, your apartment was broken into. You have to call the Police.
Josie: We--we don't know anything's missing yet.
Matt: That's not the point.
Josie: Matthew, it's--it's that fan and he's doing this for attention. If we call the Police, he--he'll keep doing this to get noticed.
Matt: You think the fan did this?
Josie: Don't you?
Matt: I don't know; that's why we have to call the Police.
Josie: Matthew, no. No one's here now. Ok? I'll change all the locks and I--I promise I'll be careful.
Matt: Josie, this is too close to home. What if you'd been here?
Josie: I know. Would you hold me? Please?
Rachel: Did you find her?
Ken: Yes, but it didn't go very well.
Rachel: I'm not surprised.
Ken: She thinks I'm trying to make points with you by going after her.
Rachel: She's not going to listen to anyone tonight.
Ken: Especially me. She let me know in no uncertain terms what she thinks of me.
Rachel: She doesn't trust anyone right now. Not me, not you, not herself mostly.
Ken: I told her she was making a big mistake.
Amanda: She is making several.
Ken: I mean not letting you help her. If I was in trouble, I'd want you in my corner.
Amanda: Oh, I don't think I'm much help to anyone these days.
Ken: That is where you are very, very wrong. Trust me. I'll come by tomorrow and see how you're doing. Will that will be ok?
Rachel: Yes, that would be nice.
Ken: Try and get some rest.
Rachel: All right. Good night.
Ken: Good night.
Mac's voice: You've never disappointed me, Amanda.
Amanda's voice: No, and I never will.
Amanda: For the first time, I'm happy that my father is dead. He would've been so ashamed of me. I would've ruined all of his dreams. Just like I ruined yours, and my mother's, and Alli's, too, if I'm not careful. It's really over, isn't it? We don't have a chance, do we?
