Felicia: Good, you're there.
Lucas: Fanny, I hate to cut you short, but I am very busy.
Felicia: Don't you dare hang up on me, Luke.
Felicia: I could not sleep last night. I need to talk to you some more.
Lucas: I do not have the time.
Felicia: Make time. I want to see you.
Lucas: That is impossible, Fanny.
Felicia: What are you talking about? This is me, Fanny.
Lucas: Fanny, you have to understand. You have to stay out of this.
Felicia: Do not say that, Luke. I need to talk.
Iris: Hard at work, as usual?
Lucas: Iris. How did you get here?
Iris: What sort of a greeting is that?
Lucas: I just wondered how you got past all those reporters in the lobby.
Iris: With an air of impunity. Oh, and then I used my keys--the ones you gave me months ago.
Lucas: Oh, right.
Iris: Months ago when life seemed a whole lot simpler.
Lucas: What do you want, Iris?
Iris: To talk. I think it is time that you and I had that tête-à-tête.
Olivia: Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?
Vicky: I am just trying to point out to you that it would be a mistake to get involved with Sam. Amanda, gee, what a coincidence. We were just talking about your handsome husband.
Amanda: Sam and I are going home, so if anything happens with the Lucas file--
Olivia: Where is Sam now?
Amanda: Oh, that is funny. I thought he followed me out of my office.
Sam: If you've got something to say about you and Amanda, just say it.
Evan: I do not think you want to hear it.
Sam: Are you implying that you slept with my wife?
Jake: Ok, the upside is this guy can give us work--a lot of work. He is driven; he is ambitious. The problem is that he can be a pain, at least that is what they say anyway, I have hooked us up with a potential meeting with him at the loft on Monday or Tuesday, whichever is best for you.
Jake: Sure? Which is best?
Jake: Ok, I will leave it up to him. He says he wants to see our best work so I figure we should edit some of the "Brava" stuff together, and you could care less about what I am saying.
Donna: I am sorry. I'm sorry.
Jake: Donna, you have not heard one word I am saying. I am talking about clients-- potential clients without whom we would have no business.
Donna: I know they are important. I know.
Jake: And you do not want to talk about it, right?
Donna: I am just having problems concentrating on my work today.
Jake: Michael was here again.
Donna: He is trying to explain everything to me--
Jake: Trying to get you to buy his ridiculous high spy story, right?
Donna: I have bought it.
Donna: I believe what he has told me.
Jake: Why in the hell would you believe anything he has to say?
Donna: Because it all makes sense, Jake. He has been in intelligence for years. He has been working in this organization since Vietnam, and this mission he was involved with was terribly important.
Jake: Important enough to throw your marriage away?
Donna: He was trying to protect me.
Jake: Oh, and there was no better way, right?
Donna: I know. I know.
Jake: You went through hell, Donna.
Donna: Well, it is over.
Jake: That is all you can say-- "well, it is over"?
Donna: Jake, I am trying to sort things out here.
Jake: Even if this is true, you do not throw an entire marriage away.
Donna: I know. He kept things from me for years.
Jake: And you're going to forgive him for that, right?
Donna: He did not mean to hurt me.
Jake: He did not trust you.
Donna: I know he did not trust me. I know.
Jake: Why are you acting like this? Why the change?
Donna: How am I acting?
Jake: Like everything is ok, like you understand.
Donna: I did not say everything was ok.
Jake: Oh, does Michael know you signed the divorce papers?
Donna: No. I could not tell him.
Jake: Why aren't you angry? Why didn't you just throw him out of here?
Donna: Because no matter what happened, Jake, he was my husband, and I know that he still loves me.
Jake: What are you saying? Are you thinking about going back to Michael?
Vicky: Well, what a mystery. Where could Sam be?
Olivia: Excuse me.
Vicky: Where are you off to, Olivia?
Olivia: I have some things to do.
Vicky: Like find Sam and thank him for driving you over here?
Olivia: Well, if I do see him, I will thank him.
Vicky: She and Sam, I tell you.
Vicky: They have just become such good friends lately. Do not tell me you have not noticed.
Amanda: I can be reached at home.
Vicky: I would not be so cavalier about this if I were you, Amanda. These things can get out of hand, you know.
Amanda: Why don't you just mind your own damn business?
Vicky: Whoa, what an outburst.
Amanda: You live to make trouble, don't you?
Vicky: On the contrary. I was just trying to help.
Amanda: By telling me that Olivia Matthews is after my husband?
Vicky: By trying to point out something that should be obvious to you, but apparently it isn't because you think you have Sam all locked up.
Amanda: Why don't you just leave me alone?
Vicky: See, that has always been your problem. You're just too proud to take advice from anyone.
Amanda: No, no, no. You see, I'm just very careful about who I choose as my adviser.
Vicky: It is a shame, really. Because heaven knows, had you had some good advice a couple of weeks ago, you would not have made your little mistake with Evan.
Amanda: I am going to go find Sam.
Vicky: Have fun.
Vicky: Hi, you got my message.
Michael: Yeah, I did. Actually, I wanted to talk to you, myself. Honey, I have been keeping things from you for too long. I think it is time we set the record straight. I want to tell you the truth. Got some time?
Evan: You got a real bad habit of grabbing my clothes--
Sam: Answer my question.
Evan: I am getting tired of you coming after me.
Sam: Then what are you afraid of, boy? Why don't you answer my question?
Evan: I am not afraid of anything--absolutely nothing. See, I do not have to answer to you.
Sam: You are not leaving this room until you answer me.
Evan: I'm not telling you nothing.
Sam: I am sick of this. If I got to beat it out of you, I will--
Evan: You know something? You are a real jerk. You act like a jerk; you talk like a jerk--
Sam: Come on, man.
Evan: You've got to be kidding me.
Sam: You got a problem with me?
Olivia: Sam, don't!
Amanda: Stop it! Stop it.
Matt: Using red ink or black ink?
Felicia: Matt, hi.
Matt: I can always tell when you are doing the books. You get this look on your face.
Felicia: What look?
Matt: Kind of a worried frown.
Felicia: Actually, I am a little worried, but it is not about tax.
Matt: What is the problem?
Felicia: Nothing. Sit down. Tell me about yourself. Your father and I have hardly seen you.
Matt: Oh, things between you and Dad, are they ok?
Felicia: How is Josie? Have you seen her?
Matt: Yeah, I just came from trying to. She still will not let me see her. I talked to her on the phone, though.
Matt: And the surgery really knocked her out, I think.
Felicia: Oh, yeah, I am sure it did.
Matt: But nobody told her that.
Felicia: Well, I am sure the doctor must have told her exactly what to expect.
Matt: I am talking about Lucas.
Felicia: What about Lucas?
Matt: He pushed for this the way he pushes for everything with Josie.
Felicia: Honey, you know, Josie did want to become the "fresh faces" girl.
Matt: I knew you were going to defend him--
Felicia: No, I am not defending him. It is just that this surgery was Josie's choice, and Lucas supported that, that's all.
Matt: Yes, and paid for it.
Felicia: Honey, you know I have known Lucas a long time, and I know he has done some things in the past, but I believe he has changed.
Matt: What about what happened at the gala?
Felicia: I know he shot a man.
Matt: He killed a man.
Felicia: I cannot really talk about the details of that, but I--I think you'll find that it will turn out that he did something heroic.
Matt: I am sorry, Felicia. I do not think I will ever buy Lucas as a hero.
Felicia: I do know that he would never do anything to hurt Josie.
Matt: Well, it is not just Josie. I mean, look what he's doing to you and Dad.
Felicia: What? What is he doing?
Matt: Well, he is always hanging around. I know Dad does not like it.
Felicia: Honey, if your father and I have any problems, believe me, it has nothing to do with Lucas.
Matt: What does that mean?
Felicia: Nothing. Nothing. I really should not have said anything.
Matt: Well, I think it meant something.
Felicia: No, it is just my mood. That is all. Let's not talk about it, ok?
Matt: I will not talk about it if you promise me everything is going to be all right between you and Dad.
Iris: You cannot imagine what the press is making of this.
Lucas: You mean of me?
Iris: The office is being deluged with calls. They're demanding a statement.
Lucas: Well, I do not blame them.
Iris: Amanda is trying to hold them off.. Rachel even came in to help, but, uh...
Lucas: But you never expected any of this?
Iris: No, I did not.
Lucas: Iris, you do not have to beat around the bush with me.
Iris: What do you mean?
Lucas: Say what you came to say.
Iris: Well, yes, I think--
Lucas: You want my resignation. Fine, you have got it.
Iris: Resignation? Do not be ridiculous.
Lucas: I am an embarrassment to you and "Sophisticate." I know that.
Iris: You certainly are not. Do you think that is why I am here?
Lucas: Then why are you here?
Iris: To be with you. To sit down together and work out a press statement.
Lucas: You are going to back me up on this?
Iris: We are partners, aren't we? I would not have "Sophisticate" if it was not for you.
Lucas: I never figured you would stand by me on this.
Iris: Why? Because you have had a few shady deals in the past? Hell, who has not?
Lucas: Iris, this is not exactly cheating on one's income tax.
Iris: All right, so you are not the knight in shining armor, but you are not a villain, either.
Lucas: Oh, really? Tell the rest of Bay City that.
Iris: I do not care about the rest of Bay City. I care about you, and that is why we get on so well together.
Lucas: What happened last night, that does not bother you?
Iris: Yes, yes, it bothers me. It bothers me a great deal, but I believe that you shot Griffen to try and save someone who I-- who I care about very much.
Lucas: Are you absolutely certain that I did it to save Michael?
Iris: Luke, I know you. I understand you. We're a great team. We've been a great team in the past, and we can be a great team again. This is not the end. It is just the beginning if you want it. Think about it.
Amanda: What is going on?
Sam: You figure it out.
Amanda: You are fighting with somebody that's hurt?
Sam: He did not start it; I did.
Amanda: Are you all right?
Sam: I am fine.
Amanda: Here, let me help you.
Sam: I do not want your help. I want your answer.
Sam: You know what. Did you sleep with him?
Sam: I know you've said you did not--
Amanda: I do not know what he has been saying to you--
Sam: He has not said much of anything.
Amanda: I was not unfaithful to you. I love you.
Sam: What do you got to say to that, Ev?
Amanda: He does not have to say anything. I am saying it, your wife. Don't you have something to do, Olivia?
Olivia: Yes, um... good-bye.
Sam: Let's go home.
Amanda: Fine. I'm ready.
Michael: Look, the club is not something that lets you go easily, nor is it something that you get out of your blood easily. Believe me?
Vicky: Yeah, I believe that.
Michael: When Lucas came to town, I called the club. I mean, I wanted them to know. I had investigated him in the past. I did not want anything to do with him. It was not until your mother was attacked that I agreed to help them.
Vicky: So part of this whole deal was leaving Mom?
Michael: Honey, it was because of me that your mother was in danger. It just made sense to me that leaving her would take the heat off of her and off of you.
Vicky: So you just had to take up with another woman, is that it?
Michael: Look, the other woman was an agent. Arianne was my club contact. Turns out she was working both sides, but the point is, is that people saw me with her. They believed I was having an affair with her. It fit my cover perfectly. Honey, the affair, the drinking, it was all part of the cover, but I take responsibility for it. Wha--what? Do you want to say something?
Vicky: What do you want me to say?
Michael: I want you to tell me how you're feeling.
Vicky: I feel betrayed by you, that is how I feel. You explain all this, and it is like you expect me to just forget the last couple of months and how much you have hurt me.
Michael: All I wanted was-I was hoping that you would understand... and that you would forgive me.
Vicky: Forgive you? I do not know who you are. I had a father before. And he was strong... and honest. You tell me you have this whole other life. It's... I cannot trust you anymore. That is what it is. You just destroyed everything I thought you were.
Michael: Vic, your mother feels exactly the same way.
Vicky: Can you blame her? Look how much you have hurt me. Just imagine how much you hurt her. I do not know if she will ever be able to forgive you.
Donna: I have not decided yet.
Jake: I don't believe this.
Donna: Jake, this has gotten very complicated all of a sudden.
Jake: Oh, Michael, he has really sold you a bill of goods, hasn't he?
Donna: He is my husband.
Jake: So you are going to go back to exactly what you had?
Donna: No, I did not say that. I have changed a lot since Michael left me. There are a lot of things that have changed. I have a career now, and--and-- and...
Jake: What? What?
Donna: And you and I have... happened.
Jake: We made love. I told you it was incredible. You said it was the best thing you--
Jake: I see. I am supposed to pretend like it didn't happen.
Donna: Don't say that.
Jake: You would rather that I never mention it again, right?
Donna: Oh, Jake.
Jake: [Indistinct] I know. You're sorry. You did not mean to lead me on. I was the very last person you wanted to hurt. It was one night. It was very ni--am I summing it up nice, Donna?
Donna: No, no.
Jake: I have been around the block. It is ok, all right?
Donna: Jake, I thought that it was the right thing--
Jake: Shh. It was one shot. No big deal. Just forget it, ok?
Donna: Jake. You're finishing my sentences for--
Jake: Oh, that is all right, Donna, I am good at that. I am also very good at forgetting, so do not worry about it, ok? I will look back on that one night as something that I will never repeat.
Donna: I think that is probably the way we should view it at this point.
Jake: Fine. Fine, then we will move on to business. So without further whatever, I think we should discuss our possible client.
Donna: [Whispers] Right.
Jake: Well, if you are not busy--
Donna: Why don't we have a business lunch? Let me just go tell Angela. I will be right back.
Jake: I will be right here.
Lucas: God, Griffen, where is it?
Felicia: So, this is Griffen Sanders' room?
Lucas: What do you think you are you doing here?
Felicia: Well, from the looks of it, the same thing you're doing.
Lucas: I am looking for something.
Felicia: Yeah, information on our daughter.
Felicia: You should have told me about this, Luke. I mean, I had a right to know.
Lucas: This was a long shot, Fanny.
Felicia: So what? If there's the slightest chance you might have found something, you should have said something.
Lucas: Ok, ok, maybe I was wrong not to tell you.
Lucas: I apologize.
Felicia: Fine. Did you find anything?
Lucas: No, but I have not finished looking yet, either.
Felicia: Well, you are right about that. We are going to find our daughter.
Lucas: Wrong, I am going to find our daughter. You're going to stay out of this thing.
Felicia: I am going to pretend that I did not hear you say that. Now, what exactly are we--
Lucas: Fanny, I mean this.
Felicia: Stop standing there and start looking.
Lucas: Look, I want you out of my life.
Felicia: What are we looking for exactly? A document, a letter--what?
Lucas: I am serious. Will you listen to me?
Felicia: I cannot listen to you and tear this stupid room apart, can I?
Lucas: You know, Mitch wants the same thing, you know.
Lucas: You out of my life.
Felicia: Oh, that is great. And what about what I want? Does anybody ever ask me what I want?
Lucas: Well, you said--
Felicia: I said--forget what I said. I am not going to leave you, Luke. You need me right now.
Lucas: I do not need you.
Felicia: All right, I need you. Or somebody needs somebody to search for whatever it is we're searching for. So stop standing there and start looking.
Lucas: You do not get it, do you? You don't get it. You know, I could still be arrested for Griffen's murder.
Felicia: You shot him to save Michael's life.
Lucas: Yeah, well, I did a lot of other things that were not so noble. I could go to prison, Fanny.
Felicia: Did you check in the bathroom?
Lucas: Why don't you ever listen to me?
Felicia: Did you check in the bathroom?
Lucas: That is what I'm talking about.
Felicia: I will not listen to you until you start to make a little sense. Right now, the most important thing is to find information on our daughter, right? Right.
Amanda: You've hardly said a word since we left the office.
Sam: I am trying to find the right words. I'm trying to figure out a way to say something.
Amanda: What is that?
Sam: It is actually kind of simple, so I do not know why I am agonizing over it, but...I should just say it. [Exhales] Look, I am really sorry.
Sam: For making you answer that stupid question about Evan a second time, for putting you through that--
Sam: No, there is no excuse. I should have trusted you.
Amanda: Why didn't you?
Sam: Well, because of him. Because of that stupid son of a...all the problems that we have had, all the stupid things that I have said to you, all the time we have spent apart--that guy, he is trying to destroy us. He deliberately made me doubt you.
Amanda: Why? What did he say?
Sam: It does not matter what he said. The important thing is that I finally got a handle on what is going on.
Amanda: You do?
Sam: Yeah, sure. I mean, he is the one who is trying to break us up. It has got nothing to do with you.
Amanda: I really don't know if that's fair--
Sam: God, he has taken some stupid crush he has on you, and it's--he's let it rule our lives. And his. And it's--oh, it is really sick.
Amanda: Yeah--it is.
Sam: You know, I thought you had to be encouraging him. The guy, he does not need any encouragement. He almost managed to blow away everything we have, including my trust in you.
Amanda: Sam, it is over.
Amanda: It is all over.
Sam: Damn right it is. 'Cause I finally know what is going on, and it is going to stop.
Amanda: Yeah, it has to.
Sam: Ever since that creep came into your life, I held you equally responsible for what has been going on. If I had known--if I had known sooner how he is, I would not have gone crazy when I read that letter. I would not have left.
Sam: I am sorry. I would not have hurt you the way I did. I'm sorry.
Sam: It is going to be better for us, I promise you that. It is going to be over. Something has got to be done about that guy.
Olivia: Oh, you are still here. Making quite a mess, I see.
Evan: What do you want?
Olivia: Nothing. I left my scarf behind in the rush.
Evan: Well, you got to see one hell of a scene.
Olivia: Yeah, a real show-stopper.
Evan: Although I am sure it did not turn out the way you would have liked.
Olivia: What can you possibly mean by that?
Evan: Sam and Amanda leaving arm in arm. I'm sure you would have rewritten that part.
Olivia: Sam is right about you. You are a snake.
Evan: [Chuckles] Is that the way he described me? That is what I like about that guy--true intellect.
Olivia: I should never have spoken to you that day in the studio.
Evan: I thought it was a pretty fascinating conversation myself.
Olivia: Well, I know you told Amanda.
Evan: What, that you did a striptease for Sam while she was only a few feet away?
Olivia: You told her that I was after Sam, didn't you? Didn't you?
Evan: No, what I told her was the truth, Olivia.
Olivia: You would not recognize the truth if you tripped over it.
Evan: That is what I like about you. You are a real piece of work.
Olivia: You really think you are qualified to talk about the truth after what you did?
Evan: What did I do?
Olivia: Tried to make Sam believe that you and Amanda slept together.
Evan: Oh, that.
Olivia: I mean, unless-- wait a minute.
Evan: Olivia, it is time for you to go.
Olivia: Unless you were telling the truth for once in your life.
Evan: You are in way over your own head.
Olivia: That is it, isn't it? That is why you did all of this. You did sleep with her. And she lied about it.
Evan: Get out, Olivia.
Iris: Thank you for coming, Michael.
Michael: Well, I got your call that said it was absolutely imperative that I meet you here.
Iris: Yes, well you wouldn't have shown up otherwise.
Michael: You could be right.
Iris: You know, I really do need to talk to you.
Michael: All right, I just hope this is not a social call, Iris. I have a lot to do these days.
Iris: Yeah, I can imagine. From what Lucas tells me, you have been through quite a lot lately.
Iris: I am sorry, I had no idea.
Michael: Well, how could you? Exactly what did Lucas tell you?
Iris: Not nearly enough.
Michael: So, what is this all about?
Iris: Well, you know about Lucas and me, don't you?
Michael: I am sorry, I am not sure what you are getting at.
Iris: You know that we are an item, so to speak.
Michael: Yeah, it is no secret.
Iris: Well, no, and it wasn't meant to be. It is just that we have kept a pretty low profile and--
Iris: So, he is interesting, don't you think?
Iris: Yeah, unusual. You know, maverick.
Michael: Yes, I guess he's all those things. So, what are you getting at?
Iris: Well, in some ways I think you know him better than I do.
Michael: Ah, is that what this is about? You're going to pump me about Lucas?
Iris: No, I just thought that maybe there were some things that you wanted to tell me about him.
Michael: [Chuckling] Oh, I see. Well, like what?
Iris: Like...well...well, I think you still care about me, don't you? I mean as a friend. And that you would not want me to make any mistakes in regard to Lucas.
Michael: Iris, you are a big girl now, and you are allowed to make all your own mistakes. And I would imagine there's a lot of things about Lucas that you do not know, but to tell you the truth, I'm not about to furnish you with details.
Iris: Why not?
Michael: [Sighs] I will tell you one thing. You be careful.
Iris: Why do you say that? I mean, he saved your life, didn't he?
Michael: Yes, he did save my life, and I am grateful to him for that. It is just that...that has nothing to do with you. I do not think that he is a man that you should get too involved with. Iris, he is not the man he appears to be.
Michael: What? What?
Michael: Come on, tell me. What?
Iris: Well, it is just--I was just thinking that maybe Donna feels you're not the man you appear to be, either.
Matt: Whoa! Hey.
Olivia: Matthew, oh.
Matt: Only my cat-like skills saved a catastrophic catastrophe.
Olivia: Yes, I am sorry. I should have been looking where I was going.
Matt: Why weren't you? Why are you here? Why aren't you home recovering? Why am I asking so many questions?
Olivia: You are practicing to be a quiz show host.
Matt: No, no, no, I mean it. After what happened at the gala, I figured you would take it easy and let aunt Liz take care of you for a while.
Olivia: Well, listen, I love my aunt Liz, but spending 24 hours a day with her? No.
Matt: So you are ok? I mean, that was a big shock.
Olivia: Pretty much back to normal.
Matt: Normal? "Normal" normal, or normal for you?
Olivia: Ha ha. You're such a card.
Olivia: How is Josie?
Matt: Josie? Oh, she sounds ok.
Matt: Yes, she has not let me see her--yet.
Olivia: Me neither. Well, you must be dying to see her again.
Matt: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Olivia: Well, everything is all right between you two, isn't it?
Matt: Sure, sure. Sure.
Olivia: No, it isn't.
Matt: You know, Josie is great.
Olivia: But? There is a but there.
Matt: But, but, but...I am worried.
Matt: Things are changing.
Olivia: What things?
Matt: Well, that is what I am worried about. I cannot put my finger on it.
Olivia: Well, have you talked to Josie about this?
Matt: It's--see, I think it is all in my head. I mean, Josie and I have a great thing going, right?
Olivia: Well, yes, I know how much you love her.
Matt: I do. Actually, I think that is part of the problem. Because I was so crazy in love with her that I never thought that there could be problems. And now she is so different and...
Olivia: Matthew, people change. Sometimes even the deepest love between people can suddenly be lost. Gone.
Matt: Well, that--why? That will not happen to us. I will not let it. There is no way.
Olivia: Good for you. That's right. You fight for what you want.
Olivia: We all have to do that. Listen, I have to go.
Matt: Wait-Amanda. Is she here? I want--
Olivia: She left with Sam.
Matt: At this hour in the day?
Olivia: He wanted her to go home and get some rest.
Matt: Huh, talk about relationships--those two. Well, it is a great thing they're back together again, right?
Vicky: Evan? Oh. What happened?
Evan: Vicky, I would like to be left alone--
Vicky: Oh, no, you don't.
Evan: Please, I would just like to sit here by myself--
Vicky: Would you leave me if I was sitting in that chair looking like you look? What happened?
Evan: Well-Amanda, Sam.
Vicky: I figured that much.
Evan: There was an argument.
Vicky: Between you and Sam?
Evan: Yeah, Sam suspected that Amanda and I had slept together.
Vicky: The guy is a real genius. Did you tell him?
Evan: I did not deny it.
Vicky: Oh, boy.
Evan: She did.
Vicky: She was involved in the conversation?
Evan: Yeah, Sam asked her point-blank, "did you sleep with Evan?"
Vicky: And she answered point- blank?
Vicky: Woman of true integrity, our Amanda. Honest, forthright.
Evan: I tell you, Vicky...I never thought it would end like this.
Vicky: You thought she would tell him the truth?
Evan: I just thought she would see how useless it was to deny her own feelings. Deny our feelings for each other.
Vicky: You thought she would look him in the eye and admit not only that you slept together, but that she loves you more than she ever loved him?
Evan: Thanks for the compassion, Vicky.
Vicky: I am sorry. I am just trying to get you to talk.
Evan: Well, there is nothing to say. She denied the whole thing. It is as if it just meant nothing to her.
Vicky: Well, this only means one thing.
Evan: I do not want to hear it.
Vicky: She is determined to stay with Sam.
Evan: Shut up.
Vicky: When are you going to stop letting that woman do this to you?
Lucas: Come here.
Arianne: I am really not up for visitors.
Lucas: Yeah, well, I am up for a little talk.
Arianne: Look, do I have to call the guard?
Lucas: You can scream your head off. The guard just came into a lot of money. He took a break so he could count it.
Arianne: I see. You know, gray's not really my color. Do you think--
Lucas: Better lose that smile or you are in trouble.
Arianne: So are you, my friend.
Lucas: I want to know about my daughter.
Arianne: Just out of curiosity, what will you do if I do not tell you?
Lucas: You're going to prison, right, lady? I know a lot of people in prison who could make your life very interesting.
Arianne: I'm impressed.
Lucas: I do not care what you are. I want to know about my daughter.
Arianne: Look, I cannot help you. Do you have a cigarette?
Lucas: Listen, if you think I am kidding about--
Arianne: I do not.
Lucas: My daughter is the most important thing to me.
Arianne: I cannot tell you.
Lucas: Damn you.
Arianne: I am already damned! But that does not change anything. I cannot tell you anything because there is nothing to tell.
Lucas: What is that supposed to mean?
Arianne: It was a bluff.
Arianne: Found out where you were most vulnerable.
Lucas: You're lying.
Arianne: Hey, I wish I were. But what do I have to gain by lying? I simply found your Achilles' heel.
Lucas: My daughter.
Arianne: Look, all I know or the club knows is that she was lost a long time ago. It was a bluff, Lucas.
Iris: Ok, ok, Iris, you put your foot in it again. [Chuckles]
Michael: It is ok. It's all right, really.
Iris: I am sorry, really. I do care about you, and I want you to be happy.
Michael: I am sure you do. I am ok, really.
Iris: Mm-hmm? How, with Donna treating you like this?
Michael: She is not treating me any way.
Iris: Oh, that bad, huh?
Michael: I do not want to talk about this, ok, Iris?
Iris: All right. Time for a change of subject, hmm?
Michael: I think actually it is time for me to go.
Iris: Oh, come on, you only just got here.
Michael: No, no, no, no, no. Really, I must have something better to do.
Iris: Can't you stay for a little bit of lunch? The special is salmon en croute.
Michael: No, no, no. I really--I'm on route.
Iris: Ma-huh-huh. You don't want me to eat alone, do you?
Michael: Yes. Yes, yes, I do, as a matter of fact.
Iris: Michael, you do not want to be alone either. Now, come on. Just a little bit of a lunch for old times' sake, hmm? What do you say? Hmm?
Michael: Ok, maybe I do not want to be alone. Maybe I'm just feeling a little--ok, for old times' sake?
Michael: Fine. All right.
Iris: Great. Goody, goody, goody.
Michael: Goody, goody, goody.
Iris: It will be just like the old days, remember?
Michael: Ah--[Chuckling] Yes, I do.
Iris: Chilled Chardonnay.
Iris: A crusty loaf, fromage.
Michael: And thou. Yes, I remember the 4-hour lunch, as I recall.
Iris: What ever happened to those?
Michael: We got busy.
Iris: We did, didn't we? [Laughs] Do you remember that old wreck of a car, do you remember that--
Iris: ...That you bought in Nice?
Michael: That "wreck" took you around in grand style as far as I recall.
Iris: Oh, grand. Absolutely grand, yes.
Michael: Yes, well, it took you all the way to Genoa.
Iris: Yes, and our destination was Rome.
Amanda: Evan? Evan, it is me.
Sam: So I talked to her, and I sang to her, and promised her everything in the world. She finally went down. She is beautiful, though. Just like her Mom. Actually, you know, that is what we talked about.
Sam: Talked about you. How lucky we are to have you. I know how lucky I am. I love you...very much.
