Donna: Mr. Sanders' performance--received with standing ovation--was later overshadowed as he staggered onto the stage. Early reports suggest that Mr. Sanders was shot by a man known only as Lucas from the balcony box occupied by Bay City millionaire, Michael Hudson. Mr. Lucas' motives are unclear at the present time.
[Knock on door]
Donna: Who is there?
Donna: Michael, why where you banging so loudly? It is rude.
Michael: I don't care.
Donna: What are you doing here again?
Michael: I want to talk.
Donna: I don't have anything to say.
Michael: Donna, don't be stubborn, all right?
Donna: Michael, I do not take orders from you anymore. You chose to shut me out. You cannot expect me to let you back in just because the time is right for you.
Michael: Donna, we still love each other. That has not changed. Has it?
Amanda: That is the official statement at this time, Daniel. I am sorry. Look, we have no comment. I have another call. I really got to go. Thanks. All right. Amanda Fowler. Yes. At this time, we really don't have enough facts to be able to take a position one way or the other. I know. This is very important. But at this time, we really do not have--
Rachel I will let you know. Phillip, there is no comment. All right?
Amanda: As we have any further information, I guarantee that. Thank you.
Rachel: Any word from Vicky?
Amanda: Not yet, you know she should be back by now.
Rachel: Well, she has got to let us know something. We cannot hold off the press forever.
Amanda: I am so glad you're here, Mom. Iris is not returning my phone calls.
Rachel: You're doing fine. Don't underestimate yourself.
[Phone buzzes] Yeah? Yeah, ok. I will handle that. I will be right there. Bye. That is Jackson in legal. He wants to talk to me about Lucas. So, um, listen--
[Phone buzzes] Oh, forget it. I will talk to you later.
Amanda: All right.
Rachel: Sam called a while ago. He is on his way and he loves you.
Amanda: Yes, Wendy. No, no, no. Do not worry about it. You keep putting the calls through. I want to handle them myself. Thanks.
[Knock on door]
Amanda: I am so glad that you--
Foreman: Come on, people let's go! Don't walk! Move, move!
Stacey: You have got to stop the blasting! Don't you understand there are people inside?
Foreman: I cannot get through. That was only c
Reuben: When is the second charge supposed to go off?
Foreman: Any second.
Stacey: Oh my God!
Foreman: I cannot stop it now.
Stacey: Cass, this whole place is going to blow, man.
Cass: I'm going to get her out of here.
Cass: I can't see her.
Derek: Frankie? Frankie? Frankie?
Cass: I still cannot see her.
Derek: Keep looking.
Cass: Frankie? I found her. Frankie? Frankie?
Derek: Cass? Cass?
Cass: Frankie? Hey, Frankie. It is me. I am here. Are you ok? Frankie, talk to me. Frankie?
Sam: Hello. Are you ok?
Olivia: Sure. Come in.
Sam: So Liz still buys this rag, huh?
Olivia: Oh, she bought 20 copies of that one. Any publicity is good publicity. That is what she said.
Sam: She is worried about you. We all are.
Olivia: I am fine. I just cannot get the picture out of my head; that is all.
Sam: What picture?
Olivia: Griffen, falling in front of me. I will never forget it.
Sam: Did you get any sleep last night?
Olivia: I am ok.
Sam: Olivia, you have to talk about what you are feeling. If you don't, keeping it inside is not going to do you any good.
Olivia: I would talk about it if I knew how I feel. He was right in front of me. I saw him, and... he was... dying.
Sam: I know that must have been awful.
Olivia: I finally got aunt Liz to leave me alone for a few minutes. She is trying to turn the whole thing into a publicity stunt for my career.
Sam: She means well.
Olivia: Well, I told her to forget it because my career is over anyway.
Sam: Whoa, whoa. Wait a second. What happened at the gala last night has nothing to do with your career.
Olivia: My so-called mentor got blown away last night.
Sam: So what? You will find someone else.
Olivia: Do you want to know the worst thing I have been thinking?
Sam: Sure, lay it on me.
Olivia: This is really low.
Sam: I think I can take it.
Olivia: Why did it have to be then? Why did he have to die while I was dancing?
Olivia: Isn't that disgusting?
Olivia: Not one of the papers mentions me.
Sam: There were a lot of other things going on.
Olivia: Well, Anna Kissinger in "The Daily Herald" reviewed Griffen's performance.
Sam: She did?
Olivia: Yes. Do you know what she said about my performance?
Olivia: "The program was cut short due to Mr. Sanders' death shortly after he left the stage in triumph." That is it. Nothing about me at all. Not even a "Ms. Matthews performance, though promising, came to an untimely end due to a dead body falling at her feet during the climax of her piece." Don't you laugh.
Sam: I am not.
Olivia: Yes, you are. This is not funny.
Sam: I came by to see if you were okay. I think you are ok.
Olivia: I am giving up dancing. I am going to sell real estate or something.
Sam: That is not funny. Do not joke about that.
Olivia: I am not joking. I should not be on the stage. I will bet you any money that dead bodies do not fall on lady realtors.
Sam: All right, all right. Come here. You want a review. I will give you a review. Olivia Matthews was wonderful. You have so much to offer, and it would be a crime if you gave up before you had even started.
Olivia: Why do you care so much?
Sam: I guess I'm selfish.
Sam: I do not even want to think about never seeing you dance again.
Amanda: I thought you were somebody else.
Evan: Who? Sam?
Amanda: No. Vicky. She is supposed to be coming back from the police station right about now with some news.
Evan: Well, I am sorry to disappoint you, Amanda.
Amanda: You know, I cannot keep holding the press off forever.
Evan: Oh, it seems to me that you would be good at that sort of thing by now.
Amanda: And what do you mean by that?
Evan: Don't tell me you don't think about me. You don't think about the night that we spent together.
Amanda: Evan, don't start. My mother is here today--
Evan: Oh, that's right. Just go along like nothing has changed, but everything has changed, Amanda.
Vicky: Whoops. Looks like I have done it again.
Amanda: Vicky, what did you find out?
Vicky: Lucas shot Griffen Sanders because Sanders was about to kill my father.
Amanda: Why was Sanders going to kill your father?
Vicky: I do not know. I am trying to track him down so I can find that out.
Amanda: Ok. Vicky, look, we really have to make some kind of statement here to the press.
Vicky: Well, you are going to have to hold off for a while, Amanda. My father was almost killed. You are not commenting on any of this until I talk to him and find out if he's in any danger.
Evan: She does have a point, Amanda--
Amanda: Stay out of it, Evan.
Vicky: Look, I will talk to my father, then you can call your press conference, all right? Now, here's some--
Amanda: I am glad your father is ok.
Vicky: Thank you, so am I.
Rachel: Oh, Evan, I need to speak to you. Can I use your office?
Amanda: What is the problem?
Rachel: That is between Evan and me. Excuse me.
Foreman: Come in, unit two. Come in. Can you hear me? Do not, I repeat, do not detonate the next charge.
Sharlene: I just heard. They think that Frankie is in there?
Stacey: Cass thinks that she is in there, so he and Derek went in looking for her, but this guy can't get in touch with the guy who is setting off the charges.
Reuben: Hold on, I think he just did.
Foreman: That is the confirmation, unit two. Do not detonate. They heard me. They are stopping.
Stacey: All right. I am going to go.
Foreman: No. Over my dead body.
Stacey: Why not?!
Cass: Frankie? Come on, Frankie. Talk to me. Frankie? You're going to make me drag you out of here, huh? [Coughing] Come on, Frankie. Come on. [Coughing]
Derek: Cass? Cass? Frankie?
Cass: It is ok, Frankie.
Cass: We are coming. Are you there?
Cass: Hang on, Frankie. Hang on. [Grunts]
Derek: Cass? Cass? Frankie? Talk to me, man. Oh, man. Oh.
Cass: Give me a hand, Derek.
Derek: Hey, man, is she all right?
Cass: I do not know. She is still unconscious.
Derek: Give me her feet.
Cass: Come on, Frankie. Come on, we got to get you out of here. Hold on to her, and I will get down and pick her up.
Derek: All right.
Cass: All right?
Cass: Be careful.
Derek: [Whispering] Frankie. Frankie, wake up.
Cass: Hold on.
Derek: You got her?
Cass: No, not yet. Ok, we have got to get her out of here.
Derek: Now, man. I'm not sure they're through blasting here.
Cass: Derek, she is so still.
Cass: I do not know if she is still breathing. Frankie?
Stacey: My brother and my boyfriend are in there. They're looking for someone who might be hurt. They have been through two dynamite explosions. I am going in there, and you are going to call the paramedics, got it?
Foreman: That building might as well be held together with toothpicks, lady. Those two blasts were to the foundation.
Stacey: It is still standing.
Foreman: And it may fall in at any minute. Come on, let's go. Get those saws out of the way. Move over the rest of that equipment out of the way...
Derek: You got her, Cass?
Cass: Yeah, just clear a path for us.
Derek: Is she coming around yet, man?
Cass: No, but at least she's breathing.
Derek: Hey man, watch out. Come here! Get the lead out will you, Cass?
Cass: Ok, let's go. Frankie, we're going to get you out of here, all right? Just hold on, ok? Hold on a little longer, Frankie.
Derek: Come on, man.
Cass: All right.
Foreman: The paramedics are on their way. So are the cops.
Stacey: Well, they just better be here in time.
Foreman: That is the best we could do, I am sorry.
Reuben: Hold on, that is them. That is them.
Stacey: They got out!
Sharlene: Oh, Frankie. She is not moving.
Reuben: I told you they were in there. I told you.
Foreman: Come on. Come on, help them out. Hey, where do you think you are going?
Donna: I cannot take all this in at once, Michael.
Michael: Donna, will you promise you will just think about what I told you?
Donna: Of course, I will. But you have to go now. I have things to do--
[Doorbell rings] ...
Donna: And I am expecting somebody.
Michael: Come on, I thought you had to be at work. I will get that. I will get that, all right? John?
John: Mike. I have been calling all over trying to find you.
Michael: Sorry, I was with the cops most of the night, I've been here a couple of times; I've been all over the place.
Donna: Hi, how are you?
Donna: I told John that I would give him as much information as I had since you have been keeping him in the dark also.
Michael: Look, John, I meant to tell you. I wanted to tell you. I wanted to tell both of you.
John: I find this whole thing really incredible. The whole time you were in 'Nam, you were doing intelligence work?
Michael: I was recruited over in Vietnam.
John: And now?
Michael: Well, you do not just leave once you join up, John. I mean, you ought to know that.
Donna: Michael has been very loyal to his spy friends. That is why he had to lie to me and to you and the whole rest of the family.
Michael: You have not listened to a word I have said, have you?
John: Mike, you've kept a big secret for an awful long time. Give us a chance to let it sink in.
Michael: I did not want to lie to you, John. I did not want to lie to either of you. I hope you know that.
John: So the whole time you were in 'Nam, you were more than just a chopper pilot, huh?
John: You were working for government intelligence?
Donna: And you did not trust any of us with that information.
Michael: Oh, please. Come on, John, you know how it is. Would you tell her, please? I did not have any choice.
John: I figured you must have had a reason for doing the things you have been doing.
Donna: That is it? You're just going to accept all of this?
John: Come on, Donna, I did not say that. You two are going to have to work this out on your own.
John: What I think about it really doesn't matter.
Donna: Fine, well, I am going to just go upstairs and bury my head back in the sand where it belongs. You two boys reminisce.
Donna: I cannot talk about this anymore.
Michael: Thanks for backing me up.
John: I said I believed you, Mike. I did not say I agreed with you.
Michael: What does that mean?
John: I know that they must tell you to keep things secret, but we're talking about Donna.
John: She loves you.
Michael: She has never kept a secret in her entire life.
John: Oh, no, no, no. Do not drag me into that. I am not about to sit here and pass judgment on Donna. Ok? I have got a few questions of my own.
Michael: I bet you do.
John: Why did Griffen Sanders want to kill you? Why did Lucas kill Sanders?
Michael: If I tell you, you cannot tell anyone I told you, all right?
Michael: The club wanted me to nail Lucas.
John: The club?
Michael: It is sort of a name for the organization that I am with.
John: Well, what is the deal with Lucas?
Michael: Lucas was a part of a major drug-smuggling cartel.
John: What? I do not believe this. At least he is behind bars.
Michael: No, he is not.
John: What do you mean he is not?
Michael: He is not behind bars. He saved my life.
Michael: At the gala. Griffen Sanders was part of the cartel, too. Lucas killed him as Griffen was getting ready to kill me.
John: I don't understand. Why would Lucas protect you?
Michael: I guess Lucas hates the cartel as much as I do. At least, that is the way I am beginning to understand it.
John: And Griffen was part of the cartel.
Michael: Excuse me. Hello?
Sharlene: Michael? Hi, it is Sharlene. Is John there, please?
Michael: Yes, just a minute please. John? It is Sharlene. She sounds pretty upset.
John: Sharlene, what is wrong?
Sharlene: Listen, there has been a terrible accident where they are building the new arts center.
John: What happened?
Sharlene: Frankie was inside when they started blasting the building.
John: Frankie? Is she...
Sharlene: Cass just carried her out.
John: Listen, I will be right there.
Sharlene: No, wait, John. The paramedics are getting ready to take her to the hospital. Would you just meet us there please?
John: I will be there in 10 minutes. Are you ok?
Sharlene: I am fine. But, John, she has been unconscious for a long time.
Stacey: Are you sure you are ok?
Derek: Yes, I am fine.
Stacey: How about Cass?
Derek: He just kept looking after Frankie. I don't know if he is ok or not.
Cass: Please. You have to be ok. She moved!
Reuben: Yeah, Cass, let them put her in an ambulance, ok?
Cass: Frankie, can you hear me? Frankie? Frankie, can you hear me?
Frankie: You look like hell, Winthrop. When was the last time you took a shower?
Olivia: You are really serious about all this aren't you?
Sam: [New York accent] How many times do I gotta tell you that I love to watch you dance and I think... [Normal voice] You are incredibly gifted.
Olivia: I guess I just like hearing you say it.
Sam: Well, I am not the only one who feels that way.
Olivia: Oh, yes. I am besieged with calls from well-wishers.
Sam: Come on.
Olivia: You are the only one who thought to say anything. It is like everyone is embarrassed or something. You know what? You are my only friend.
Sam: I am sure that is not true.
Olivia: You are the only one who sticks with me no matter what. Even Matthew has given up on me.
Olivia: It does not matter. You are the best thing about my life. Here, I mean, in Bay City. And I could not be happier for you.
Sam: For me?
Olivia: Well, you seem so settled now that you and Amanda are back together again. Sam, I care about you. I want you to be happy.
Sam: I need to go pick up Amanda. She has been at work all night long.
Olivia: Because of the shooting?
Sam: Yes. Listen, you take care, ok? Call me?
Olivia: Is Rachel over there?
Sam: Yes, I think so. Why?
Olivia: Could I come with you?
Olivia: Well, she went out of her way yesterday to be very nice to me at the luncheon and I wanted to thank her before she goes back to Park Ridge.
Sam: And here I thought I was the only one who liked you.
Olivia: If you do not get moving, I am going to break your other leg.
Sam: Well, I am glad to see you are not quite so strung out.
Olivia: Being with you helped, Sam. It always does. Now, I will just be a minute, all right?
Sam: Ok. Hurry up.
Olivia: All right.
Vicky: You are just dying to go in there, aren't you?
Amanda: I thought you were going to go find your father.
Vicky: Gee, I hope your Mom did not find out about you and Evan. That would be terrible.
Amanda: You wouldn't dare.
Vicky: Take some advice from someone who has had experience in this area. If you don't want people to know everything you are feeling, you've got to learn to stop wearing your heart on your face.
Amanda: I am going back to my office.
Vicky: I have one more thing to say to you.
Amanda: What do you have staked in this?
Vicky: Evan. He is my friend, like you used to be.
Amanda: That was before you lied to my brother.
Vicky: Like you are lying to your husband. Evan taught you something about yourself. Maybe it is something you don't like.
Amanda: And what is that?
Vicky: You are just as liable to get caught by your passions as I am. Let Evan go. Do not ruin his life.
Amanda: What we did was a mistake. I let him go. It is him. He is the one.
Vicky: Is it? I will not let him get hurt any more than he already is.
Amanda: Are you threatening me?
Vicky: Let's just put it this way. You get Evan out of your life and out of your system--really out--and nothing I can say or do can hurt you at all.
Amanda: You just want Evan, don't you?
Vicky: What do you care if your little roll in the hay was just a mistake? Get over him, Amanda. What your mother knows or does not know will be the least of your problems.
Rachel: I wanted to talk to you about Amanda.
Evan: What about her?
Rachel: I have been very concerned about this business with you and Sam and Amanda.
Evan: Rachel, if you are referring to the fight I had with Sam--
Rachel: Yes, I am referring to the fight at Christmas. I was very worried about that. I thought that that would mean I would have to let you go and possibly let Amanda go.
Evan: I am glad you didn't.
Rachel: Amanda has been under a great deal of pressure since her father died.
Evan: I know that, Rachel.
Rachel: I was afraid she was going to lose Sam because of it and because of the pressure you were exerting on her.
Evan: Well, I want Amanda to be happy.
Rachel: Yes, I know that. That is why I wanted to thank you.
Evan: Thank me? For what?
Rachel: Sam and Amanda seem to be getting along better than they have in a long time. And I know part of that is your doing, and I know it was not easy.
Evan: No, it was not easy.
Rachel: I have a great deal of respect for you, Evan. I am glad I did not have to take drastic measures.
Evan: Yes, me, too.
Rachel: While I am away from this company, I want it to be in the best of hands. I also wanted Sam and Amanda to have a chance to heal their marriage, and thanks to you, I think we are achieving both those goals.
Ronnie: Hey, hey, hey. I hear a building fell on you.
Frankie: Oh, it was not that tall. I am fine, but nobody is listening to me. I do not need this high-tech skateboard.
Cass: Is she going to be ok?
Ronnie: Seems like she's going to be fine, but John is inside. He is going to take a look at her, but I think you are going to have to take--let go of her hand first.
Cass: Oh, I am sorry.
Ronnie: That is ok.
Cass: You do exactly what John tells you; no arguments, all right?
Frankie: Yes, sir.
Cass: I will be right here.
Ronnie: Ok, guys, let's move it.
Frankie: Take care, sweetie.
Cass: I got it.
Sharlene: Cass, sweetheart. I do not know how I am ever going to thank you.
Cass: Oh, Derek did most of it. He got us out of there.
Reuben: Well, Stacey got the guys to stop blasting.
Derek: You were good, too. You know, you really know how to create a diversion.
Cass: It is kind of warm in here, isn't it?
Stacey: Are you ok?
Cass: I just want to make sure that Frankie is all right, you know? She was out for so long. Ronnie, is she okay?
Ronnie: Oh, yeah, John says she has got some bruises, but she will be fine. Look, she's going to be raising hell before you know it.
Reuben: Hey, man.
Stacey: My God, do something. Cass?
Reuben: I got him, I got him.
Stacey: What just happened?
Ronnie: Over here, Derek.
Frankie: Cass? What is wrong with him? What happened to him?
Sharlene: He heard you were all right, and he just seemed to give in.
Frankie: What is wrong with him?
Sharlene: He is all right. Frankie.
Frankie: It is all my fault. He has been trying to tell me about Griffen for weeks, and I would not listen to him. Sharlene, it is all my fault.
Sharlene: Frankie, come sit down.
Frankie: I should have known something like this was going to happen to him.
Sharlene: Just sit down. You're in no--sit down. Sit down. Honey.
Stacey: Cass, you're going to be ok. You're going to be ok.
Derek: He is. He is. Stacey. Stacey, he's just exhausted. I am sure of that. He is going to be fine.
Stacey: Thank God you were there. He might not have made it out of the building.
Derek: No, no, no. He is the one that got Frankie out of the air shaft.
Stacey: I was so scared that none of you guys were ever going to make it out of there.
Derek: I am fine. I am fine, and so will Cass be. I just wish I could have gotten my hands on that Griffen.
Stacey: Cass was right. He was right all along...
Officer: ...Sanders' body like that.
Stacey: Officer, excuse me. Are you're talking about Griffen Sanders?
Officer: Yeah, the coroner's van never made it to the morgue.
Stacey: What happened?
Officer: I will tell you one thing. That body did not walk away on its own.
Stacey: What in the world does that mean?
Donna: Where's John?
Michael: Sharlene called. He had an emergency at the hospital. He had to go.
Donna: I was hoping you would be gone by now.
Michael: Donna, I'm not going to leave.
Donna: Why not?
Michael: I am not going to leave until I am sure that you understand.
Donna: I do.
Michael: Do you believe me?
Donna: I believe you. Finally, after all this time I believe that you are telling me the truth.
Michael: Well, thank God!
Donna: Michael, it is not that simple.
Michael: Why? I mean, if you believe I told you the truth, why don't you believe I had a good reason for doing what I did?
Donna: You said that you did not love me anymore. You said that you had chosen somebody to take my place. Do you have any idea what that made me feel like?
Michael: I did that to keep you safe. Do you have any idea how much it killed me to say that to you?
Donna: Would you do it again?
Michael: I am not going to have to do it again.
Donna: Just hypothetically speaking, would you do it again?
Michael: Donna, they were going to kill you.
Donna: So you would do it again. You still would not trust me.
Michael: It is not a matter of trust.
Donna: Michael. You think that I am some little idiot who does not have the brains to keep her mouth shut. You don't look at me as a help mate or a partner--
Michael: I did not tell my own brother.
Donna: I have gotten very good at being independent. You laughed me out of your business. I am running a business on my own.
Michael: So wait a minute. What are you saying?
Donna: I am saying that maybe we had problems before you left. Michael, I waited my whole life for you, letting everybody take care of me. And then when you came back, I let you take over where my father and my brother left off. I never did anything for myself because every man I ever loved told me I was not up for it.
Donna: Let me finish. I am not flighty. I am not stupid. And I am not helpless. And as much as it might pain you to hear me say this, I think that your leaving me was probably the best thing that ever happened to me because I survived. I ran this house. I took care of our son. I ran my own business. And I realized something in all of this--that nobody ever believed in me the way that I have come to believe in myself.
Michael: No one could be happier about that than me. Donna, I did what I thought was best. I did what I did out of love for you. I love you, Donna.
Donna: I know you do. But that is not enough anymore.
Amanda: Is everything all right?
Amanda: Oh, God--
Evan: Relax, Amanda. Your mother thinks I'm a saint. You should feel very proud of yourself.
Amanda: Proud of myself?
Evan: Yes. Your mother, she thanked me.
Evan: See, she sees how happy you and Sam are, so she thanked me for letting my feelings go about you so you could live your life. Isn't it touching?
Amanda: That is what she wanted to talk to you a--
Evan: Yes. Are you relieved?
Evan: But yet you can still go on lying.
Amanda: I would not be able to face her if she knew the truth.
Evan: What--do I embarrass you that much?
Amanda: No, I embarrass me that much. I am not blaming you for anything.
Evan: When did you get so good at lying? How do you look at yourself in the mirror every morning?
Amanda: I have a family, Evan. It is a lot harder for me.
Evan: Than it is for me? Is that what you're saying?
Amanda: Can you honestly say that you're proud to tell the world what we did?
Evan: Yes, I could tell everybody that I love you.
Amanda: Evan, shut up.
Evan: No, I love you. And I am tired of lying about it and I am not going to do it anymore.
Amanda: If you love me, will you stop doing this to me?
Evan: What the hell are you talking about? Doing what?
Amanda: If you love me, then help me do what I know is right. This never should have happened. As far as I am concerned, it will not happen again.
Sam: What won't?
Vicky: I really love it here. I cannot tell you how happy it makes me.
Rachel: Oh, good. I have been checking up on you. I get raves all up and down the line.
Rachel: Yes, really.
Vicky: Well, thank you, Rachel. That means a lot to me.
Rachel: Have you had enough time for Steven?
Vicky: Always have enough time for him, especially now that Jamie's in Europe.
Rachel: Jamie says his trip is doing him some good.
Vicky: Good. I have not heard from him.
Rachel: Is that hard for you?
Vicky: Well, we just had our first anniversary, and we are already divorced. It hurts, yes.
Rachel: Sometimes life does not turn out the way we think it ought to. But when it is different, sometimes it is better.
Vicky: How do you mean?
Rachel: Just that life has a lot of surprises--at least I have found it to have. Olivia, sweetie. How are you?
Olivia: I am fine, thanks. I just wanted to come by and thank you again for the luncheon yesterday. It was very nice of you.
Rachel: It was my pleasure. How are you holding up?
Olivia: Well, I was pretty upset this morning, but I talked to a good friend, and he made me feel much better about things.
Rachel: Well, I'm glad you have somebody to talk to. You are very talented. I hope you know that.
Olivia: Thank you.
Rachel: If you will excuse me, I have some people I have to see.
Vicky: Of course.
Olivia: Thanks again, Mrs. Cory.
Rachel: You are welcome, sweetie.
Olivia: She is very nice, isn't she?
Vicky: It was especially nice of her not to mention that Sam is the friend that has been helping you so much.
Olivia: I do not know what you are talking about.
Vicky: I know what you are doing, Olivia. I invented the game you're playing.
Olivia: The game?
Vicky: She may buy it, but I do not. I know what you are doing, and I suggest you stop.
Olivia: What is it that you think I am trying to do?
Vicky: Sam and Amanda are in love. They have a history and a kid. Do not try to mess with that.
Olivia: What does any of this have to do with you?
Vicky: Just stay away from Sam, little girl. You may get more than you bargained for.
Olivia: Just a second. You cannot talk like that to me and then just walk away.
Vicky: Watch me.
Vicky: Takes one to know one, doesn't it?
Amanda: There was a delay in production. Evan took care of it, and they promise it won't ever happen again.
Sam: Ok. So, I came to take you home.
Evan: It is 11:30 in the morning, Sam.
Sam: And she has been in here all night. She needs her rest.
Evan: Well, unfortunately, we are in the middle of a crisis.
Sam: Oh, I am sure you can handle it, Ev--
Amanda: I'm going to get my things, ok?
Amanda: Just let me take this phone call, and I will be ready to go. Amanda Fowler.
Evan: You must be real proud of yourself. You have got Amanda right where you want her.
Sam: She agreed to go, Evan. I did not see her put up a fight, did you?
Evan: Well, she really could not say no to you. You intimidate her so much.
Sam: You are so full of--
Evan: That is why she let you move back.
Sam: And what is that supposed to mean?
Evan: You see, she still does not know what she wants, but she has not had a chance to make up her own mind because you keep threatening that you're not going to come back.
Sam: And what do you mean by that?
Evan: Sam, when are you going to wake up? Open your eyes and face reality.
Frankie: John says it is not terminal.
Cass: I guess. How are you feeling?
Frankie: I am fine.
Frankie: Thanks to you.
Cass: It was no big deal.
Frankie: No, not much.
Cass: I hate to tell you I told you so, but this should teach you to listen to me.
Frankie: I owe you one, Winthrop.
Cass: I don't know how long I have to stay here. But I know what I want...
Frankie: What is that?
Cass: I want to wake up tomorrow morning with you beside me. I do not know...what...I would have done if I had not found you, Frankie. I need you so much.
Donna: I would like you to leave now, Michael.
Michael: Donna, I know this has been tough on you, but do you know how many nights I have laid awake and thought about this?
Donna: I do not want to argue anymore.
Michael: I do not want to argue either. I want to come home.
Donna: It is not that simple.
Michael: I will tell you what. Why don't we take a trip, just you and I. We can be alone. We can talk. I mean, Jake can do without you for a couple weeks.
Donna: What does Jake have to do with this?
Michael: The video business, all right. He does not need you to run the video business for a little while, right?
Donna: I need some time, Michael. I cannot make any decisions about anything right now.
Michael: This is going to work out, Donna.
Donna: How do you know?
Michael: Because I made a promise to myself that when this ordeal was over I would make this up to you. It is not over between us, Donna. I love you too much to ever let you go.
Olivia: I guess it's true what everybody says about you.
Vicky: Every last word.
Olivia: You seem pretty sure of yourself.
Vicky: I have earned it.
Olivia: Well, I know there's no love lost between you and Amanda.
Vicky: You have a way with understatement, Olivia. Has anyone ever told you that before?
Olivia: Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to hurt me?
Vicky: You are young, aren't you? Believe me, I do not have the time or the energy to waste on a little girl in a pink tutu.
Olivia: Fine, then I will go.
Vicky: Ah, not until we iron a couple of things out.
Olivia: What is the matter, Vicky? Am I getting to you?
Vicky: Dream on. Now, be a good little doobie and listen to a person who has been where you are about to go.
Olivia: Who asked you?
Vicky: Stay out of Sam and Amanda's life. They have enough of their own problems to deal with without some lovesick teenager getting in the way of all that.
Olivia: You do not know what you're talking about.
Vicky: Don't I? It is obvious that you have fallen head over heels for Sam, and who can blame you really? He is a... exciting, handsome, taken man.
Olivia: You are wrong.
Vicky: No, I am not. You see, I know what it is like to want someone so badly that you will risk anything to get them. You will risk pain, embarrassment, and humiliation just to be with that one person. It is a strong thing. I know.
Olivia: What is it that you are getting at?
Vicky: Let's just play a little hypothetical game here, ok? Say you do break them up, then what? What do you have? You have a bitter man who cannot really get the love of his life out of his system. You live this Bohemian artist thing downtown. You do not have any money because your family has disowned you. He cannot paint because he is blocked. You cannot dance because you are pregnant.
Olivia: Have you ever thought about being a writer, Vicky? You seem to have a real knack for fiction.
Vicky: Listen to me, Olivia. I do not dislike you.
Olivia: Oh, I see. That is why you have cornered me here in a public place, and accused me of breaking up my best friend's marriage.
Vicky: Your best friend has a problem marriage. You're not the source of it, but you are not the answer to that, either. Try and remember that.
Olivia: I have done nothing but support Sam over the last few weeks. No, listen to me, I mean it. I was the one who told him to try and work things out with her.
Vicky: Good for you.
Olivia: So now do you believe me?
Vicky: What, that you are not interested in Sam?
Vicky: Not for a second, sweetheart. I know you do not want to listen to what I have to say, but I think it is important that you do. Do not fall any harder for a man that you can never really have. You will get burned. He will resent you. You will waste years of your life going after something that can only give you the smallest amount of satisfaction.
Olivia: You do not know who I am.
Vicky: Yes, I do. You are my clone, and frankly I have had enough problems to deal with. I may not know you too well, but I do not want to relive my past watching you, got it?
Olivia: Who are you kidding, Vicky? You are just afraid that you will not get Evan if Amanda leaves Sam.
Vicky: You have been paying attention. That is good.
Olivia: Well, maybe, just maybe you should worry a little bit more about why Evan does not want you and less about what other people are--
Vicky: Careful, Olivia. You cross that line with me, suffice it to say I have a very long memory.
Olivia: You know something, Vicky? You can go straight--
Vicky: Ah! I probably will. I guess I will see you there, won't I?
Amanda: Ok, Sam. I am ready to go.
Sam: I am right behind you.
Sam: I want you to explain what you meant by that.
Evan: Figure it out for yourself.
Sam: You know, you just cannot stand it 'cause you know she loves me, and you can't have her. Nothing happened with you and Amanda? Are you saying that you slept with my wife?
