Donna: Hi, darling. What a pleasant surprise.
Donna: Angela was just about to make some breakfast.
Vicky: Oh, no, we already had breakfast.
Evan: Hello, Donna.
Donna: Hi, Evan.
Vicky: We had to be at police headquarters at 8:00 am.
Vicky: Yes, we just spent a lovely hour with Bay City's finest, didnít we?
Donna: You're joking.
Evan: No, they called us in for questioning.
Donna: The police?
Vicky: No, mother, the Smurfs.
Donna: Because of Steven?
Vicky: Yes. Jamie called the cops. It seems that I'm accused of kidnapping.
Vicky: I tried to explain to them that the kid in question is my kid--
Donna: But you brought him back and Stevenís fine.
Vicky: And you would think that Jamie would drop the charges, right?
Donna: Well, he will, wonít he?
Vicky: The cop said it's all up to Jamie.
Donna: Well, he'll drop the charges, wonít he?
Vicky: If he doesn't, I could go to prison.
Jamie: Those are the eyeballs right there. You know, I had a raggedy Andy when I was a kid. I dragged that guy around for years, as a matter of fact. I couldn't sleep without him. You know, I missed you so much. Every night that you were gone, I'd look into your room, and I'd look at your pictures, and I'd look at all your toys, and-- well, you know, you are going to one of these days know just how much I love you. Yes, you are. And that you're the most important thing in my life.
[Chuckles] Oh, hello. I didnít hear you guys come in.
Rachel: I know. It was fun to see you guys having a talk.
Jamie: You know, he woke up crying this morning. I hope we didnít wake you up.
Rachel: Oh, it was great to hear his voice. Yes, it was. Hi!
Amanda: Jamie, um, look, I hope that--
Jamie: Yeah, yeah. Forget about it, Amanda.
Amanda: How do you know what I was going to say?
Jamie: You were going to ask me if I understand what--what you did.
Jamie: I know you were doing what you thought was right.
Amanda: Jamie, so was Evan.
Jamie: My son is back. That's what really counts.
Rachel: Of course. Let's put all the rest behind us.
Jamie: Let's try, huh? What do you say, partner? Let's try that.
Rachel: Morning, Sam.
Sam: It's good to see Steven back in this house.
Rachel: We were all just saying that.
Amanda: I was kind of wondering where you went this morning. How many miles did you run?
Sam: Enough to come to a decision.
Amanda: What decision?
Sam: Rachel, Jamie, would you excuse us for a minute? I need to talk to Amanda... alone.
Felicia: Good morning.
Mitch: I made some coffee.
Mitch: I figured after last night we would both need it. We didnít get much sleep.
Felicia: I know. I was there.
Mitch: You have every right to be angry.
Felicia: Oh, you're giving me permission?
Mitch: That's not what I meant.
Felicia: Let me just drink some coffee first, all right?
Mitch: I wish I could explain away my feelings for Rachel.
Felicia: But you canít.
Mitch: The last thing that I want to do is to hurt you.
Felicia: Before we hurt each other any more, I'd like to ask you one question.
Felicia: Do we still have a marriage?
Rachel: I was hoping we could all have breakfast together.
Sam: I'm not hungry.
Amanda: I am.
Sam: We need to talk.
Amanda: Canít this wait?
Amanda: All right. Mom, Jamie, excuse us.
Jamie: What's going on?
Rachel: Sam is furious with Amanda.
Jamie: Yeah, but why?
Rachel: The same reason you were.
Jamie: This had nothing to do with Sam.
Rachel: Amanda is protecting Evan.
Jamie: Amanda thought that Evan could get Vicky to come back, and that's why she didnít tell us about his calls.
Rachel: That's not the way Sam sees it.
Jamie: You know, this thing with Evan has been going on quite a while.
Rachel: Evan is very persistent, and in spite of herself, I think Amanda has been encouraging him.
Jamie: Why would she do something like that?
Rachel: I think she's the one that can answer that.
Jamie: What happened to their love for each other, and their respect?
Rachel: Sometimes even that isnít enough.
Amanda: What is with you?
Sam: Close the door.
Amanda: Is it really necessary to go parading our problems around in front of my family like that?
Sam: I donít care about your family right now.
Amanda: Obviously not.
Sam: Amanda, I am tired of pretending.
Amanda: Pretending what?
Sam: Pretending that you and I are in love and happy.
Amanda: I'm in love. I'm happy.
Sam: I meant with each other.
Amanda: I'm going back downstairs.
Sam: No, you're not.
Amanda: I will not be made to feel guilty.
Sam: I gave you a choice in Bermuda. I said if you wanted him, go for it.
Amanda: And I chose you.
Sam: So what? You've lied to me. You've lied to Jamie. You've lied to your whole family, all for Evan.
Amanda: I did what I thought was right.
Sam: For whom?
Amanda: I'm not even going to answer that.
Sam: No, of course not, because you know damn well you did it for him. Everything that guy says or does, you go along with it.
Amanda: This is ridiculous.
Sam: I gave you one last chance, lady, and you blew it.
Amanda: Oh, no. No, you blew it. You donít give someone that you love "last chances."
Sam: Oh, yeah? And how do you treat someone you love? By keeping secrets from them. By running around behind their backs.
Amanda: Running around? What are you implying?
Sam: I donít have to imply it. I'll spell it out for you. I think Evan is more important to you than me, our marriage, or your family.
Amanda: That's a lie!
Sam: No. I wish it was, but the lie is us, Amanda, and I wonít have anything to do with this anymore.
Amanda: You donít know what you're saying.
Sam: You say you want a marriage because that's what all good Cory daughters are supposed to want, but that's a lie, too!
Amanda: This is insane!
Sam: You want him, you got him.
Amanda: I donít!
Sam: I am out of this picture.
Amanda: You're not making any sense.
Sam: Oh, yes, I am. For the first time in a long time, I am finally making sense.
Amanda: Look, I donít want to hear it. I donít want to hear it.
Sam: No, of course you donít! You want it both ways, at least for the time being!
Amanda: I'm going to work.
Sam: Fine, you go to work... maybe Evan will be there. Maybe you guys can figure out what your next move will be. Maybe Evan will be able to give you advice on how to handle your hot-tempered, irrational husband.
Donna: That still doesn't make any sense.
Vicky: Tell that to detective Donnelly and friends.
Donna: But Jamie doesn't want you to go to jail.
Vicky: Tune in tomorrow.
Donna: But he's a physician. He's a healer.
Donna: He'll forgive you.
Vicky: He--did you see his face when I walked into the ballroom with Steven?
Donna: But that's all over, though.
Evan: I donít think so, Donna.
Vicky: Look, Jamie never thought he was going to see his son again. I canít blame him for wanting to get back at me.
Donna: That's very mature of you.
Evan: Donna, Vicky has been through a lot these last few days.
Donna: I know that. I just wish we could forget the whole thing ever happened.
Vicky: No, I donít. I've learned a lot. I feel like a different person after living in Lassiter, being with Dora, realizing how spoiled I was.
Evan: Well, no hot water, cockroaches in the bathtub; that will do it to you.
Donna: Oh, please, please.
Vicky: No, it's true. I took every comfort in my life for granted.
Donna: There's nothing wrong with having a little comfort.
Vicky: No, but there is something wrong with taking your family and friends for granted.
Donna: You never did that.
Vicky: Yes, I did. I never gave a second thought to all the love and support you and Dad gave me--and Bridget. Oh, I was so self-centered I thought I was the only thing Steven needed.
Evan: And that all he'd ever need is you.
Vicky: I thought I could survive on my own. But what I'm trying to say is that I have to start giving, rather than taking so much. End of speech, sorry.
Evan: Well, it was a good speech! Yay!
Donna: I'm very proud of you, really.
Vicky: Thank you.
Donna: And you're not going to jail. I donít care what Jamie Frame thinks he's gonna do.
Vicky: I love you. You know that? I love you and Dad. I donít know what I would do without you guys. Where is Dad? I want to tell him.
Donna: At the office, I suppose.
Vicky: You suppose? Why--he wasn't with you last night either.
Vicky: Mom, has something happened?
Lucas: Michael, it's a little early.
Michael: Yeah, well, I wonít stay long.
Lucas: You're right, you wonít.
Michael: You, uh, get my present?
Lucas: Ah, what present was that?
Michael: Come on, Lucas. I donít want to play cat-and- mouse games with you.
Lucas: Good. Still donít know what you're talking about.
Michael: Ah, really. Well, how about a confiscated art shipment? Does that ring a bell with you? It was returned very discreetly to a warehouse--your warehouse. I think you were notified about it this morning, just as a little demonstration of my good faith.
Lucas: I donít know about any art shipment.
Michael: Come on, Lucas, I'm getting really bored with this.
Lucas: What are you getting so angry about?
Michael: I went to a lot of trouble to arrange this for you. I know that I got some angry clients off your back, and now I want something for my work.
Lucas: You see, that's why I donít like double agents. You never know whose side they're on.
Michael: I'm on my side.
Lucas: Sure, you might have gone to some trouble to--for this alleged shipment or you might have gone to your superiors at the club and said it's a perfect trap. The question is--who's double- crossing whom?
Michael: Well, Lucas, I've done everything I know how to to earn your trust.
Lucas: Ah, trust. It's a peculiar thing. It also can be a dangerous habit.
Michael: Yeah? I donít know why I get the feeling that you're trying to tell me you donít trust anybody.
Lucas: That pretty much says it, yeah.
Michael: Right. How about Felicia?
Lucas: Leave her out of this.
Michael: Oh! What, did I touch a nerve, huh?
Lucas: I'm warning you, Michael.
Michael: Hey, it's ok. It's all right. I kind of like seeing you like this. You know, I donít trust people who are unemotional.
Lucas: Oh, really?
Michael: No, no, no. No soul.
Lucas: I see. Well, donít take it as a sign of weakness, ok?
Michael: Oh, on the contrary. Well, I guess if there's no way that you can move forward with this, I guess I'm out.
Lucas: Yeah, I guess.
Michael: Yeah. Well, too bad, though, you know. I think we would have made a great team.
Lucas: Why do you want to play this game, Michael?
Michael: Told you, Lucas. I need cash fast.
Lucas: A lot of ways to get capital.
Michael: Well, not fast and not quietly. Aside from which, you know, I got to keep my financial picture out the public eye. Now, surely you can understand that.
Lucas: Sure I can.
Michael: I mean, I know you can, because I know that you need cash just as much as I do.
Lucas: Now where do you get your information?
Michael: Well, that's not really important, Lucas. What is important is that the source of your product is drying out unless you travel in my circles. Think about that, all right? Hard.
Vicky: What? What happened?
Donna: Uh, your father and I--
Donna: I'll get the phone. Hello? Oh, yes. Oh hold on, just a moment. It's Dora.
Vicky: Dora! Dora, hi.
Dora: Hi. Look, I got a message to call you at this number.
Vicky: Why didnít you reverse the charges?
Dora: It's ok, Vicky. Look, what's wrong?
Vicky: Nothing's wrong. I just wanted to apologize for running off like that and not saying good-bye.
Dora: Oh, honey, it's all right. I'm used to that.
Vicky: Hey, I sent a check for the month for the room.
Dora: I never thought you wouldnít, honey.
Vicky: You did a lot for me, Dora.
Dora: Oh, come on. I did nothing. Nothing. Listen, tell me something, how is Steven? Is he ok?
Vicky: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure he misses you.
Dora: Aw, I sure miss him. So does Tina.
Vicky: I'm never going to forget you.
Dora: Come on, you're talking like we're never gonna see each other again.
Vicky: Well, that's right. We'll get together as soon as I get things settled here, ok?
Dora: Ok. Listen, take care of yourself, honey, all right?
Vicky: Yeah, you, too. Give Tina a big kiss for Steven and me, ok?
Vicky: Bye. Oh, that woman is so special. I want to do something for her.
Evan: Hold on, hold on.
Evan: First things first. If you go to jail, you wonít be doing anything for anybody.
Donna: My daughter is not going to jail.
Evan: Excuse me.
Donna: What--where are you going?
Evan: Well, she may not go to jail if Jamie would get his head--I'm going over to the Coryís, that's where I'm going.
Donna: That's a good idea.
Vicky: What? Um, uh--
Evan: Yeah, you'd better believe it is. Maybe he's mellowed out now that he's got Steven back.
Vicky: No, Evan.
Evan: No? What do you mean no?
Vicky: Well, I appreciate you trying to help, but I need to face Jamie on my own.
Donna: But if Evanís willing to pave the way for youó
Vicky: Mother, this is exactly what I'm talking about. If anyone is going to make Jamie understand this, it's gonna be me.
Jamie: Come on. Let's you and I see about a snack, huh? Get a--
Sam: ...That's the intelligent way to handle this.
Amanda: Seems like the only way to handle you.
Sam: Oh, no way. You're not going to make me the heavy in this, Amanda.
Amanda: Come on, keep your voice down, please!
Sam: Why? You think your family doesn't know what's going on?
Amanda: Mom, I'll see you at work, ok?
Sam: Amanda, how are we ever going to resolve anything if you walk away every time I say something you didnít want to hear?
Amanda: What? What, do you want me to talk to you now, with you acting like this, like some kind of maniac? Mom, buzz me when you get in, all right? I'll be waiting.
Amanda: I'm sorry about all the yelling.
Sam: Damn it! Why does she do this?
Jamie: Hey, Sam, come on. Let's--
Sam: Look, I donít want your advice, Jamie. I'm sick of advice. I'm sick of this whole damned situation.
Jamie: Wow, I've never seen him quite like that before. I had no idea things were this bad.
Rachel: Well, now you know.
Jamie: Is there anything we can do?
Rachel: I wish there were.
Jamie: You know, you start saying those kinds of bitter things to each other, and before you know it, it's too late.
Rachel: I donít want it to be too late for Sam and Amanda.
Mitch: No, I donít want out of our marriage.
Felicia: The question was whether we still have a marriage--a real marriage.
Mitch: My feelings for you haven't changed.
Felicia: Mitch... I love you, but that's baloney.
Felicia: Because you just told me you love the woman.
Mitch: One doesn't cancel out the other. I wish you could understand that.
Felicia: Boy, you are asking a lot.
Mitch: I'm trying to be honest with you.
Felicia: Well, there's that, at least.
Mitch: You know, of all people--if for no other reason-- because of Lucas, I thought you would understand.
Mitch: Yes, I mean, unless I'm mistaken, he is an old love of your life, isnít he?
Felicia: There is a big difference here, Mitch. The old love of my life I told to leave me alone and to find somebody else. What did you tell Rachel?
Rachel: Felicia, it's Rachel.
Felicia: Yes, Rachel.
Rachel: May I speak to Mitch, please?
Felicia: No, I'm sorry, you canít. We're in the middle of talking about something. This is going to have to wait.
Mitch: What did you do?
Felicia: I hung up.
Mitch: What if it were important?
Felicia: Oh, I'm sure it was important. There's always one crisis or another for Rachel.
Mitch: I donít believe that you did that.
Felicia: You donít believe it? You just told me you loved her! Look what you're doing to me! Ha! You know what? Get over there. Go on, but before you come back, you better decide what you really want, because you canít have Rachel and me.
Donna: I still think that you should have let Evan go over there first.
Vicky: I donít need a mediator.
Donna: Well, at least wait a couple of days.
Vicky: I've got to face Jamie sometime. It might as well be today. All right, I'm ready. Bye.
Donna: Bye-bye. I love you.
Vicky: I love you. Dad!
Michael: Hey! Hi, honey! Mmm, oh! Oh, it's so good to see you!
Vicky: You, too. Hi.
Michael: I want you to know, by the way, that I am so proud of you. You made a mistake, but you had the courage to do what it took to correct it. You're terrific.
Donna: I think I'll have Angela make us all a cup of coffee.
Michael: Hey, who's that? That's my guy! Come here, buddy!
Mikey: Daddy, I love you.
Michael: Oh, I love you, too, and I missed you so much. Oh!
Vicky: You missed him? Why? Why? What is going on?
Donna: You want to tell her, Michael, or should I?
Amanda: Are there any messages for me?
Molly: I put them all on your desk, Mrs. Fowler.
Amanda: Thank you. What is this doing here?
Molly: It's the envelope you wanted mailed.
Amanda: Last night. It was supposed to be mailed last night, Molly. Intervisual Communications is waiting for this. It has to be there by the end of the week.
Evan: Amanda, it's only Wednesday; it will be there in plenty of time.
Amanda: All right, you're right. I'm sorry. Just make sure it gets out today, all right?
Evan: Well, you're in a wonderful mood.
Amanda: And what's it to you?
Evan: Things going that badly at home, huh?
Amanda: Oh, no. No, they're great. Everyone is just thrilled with me.
Evan: Jamie hasn't forgiven you?
Amanda: He says he has.
Evan: Look, Amanda, I feel responsible--
Amanda: Forget it.
Evan: ...And I'd like to say I'm sorry. And if it will make you feel better, I'll be willing to talk to Jamie.
Amanda: It's over!
Evan: What is with you?
Amanda: Just leave me alone.
Evan: You've been crying. It's Sam, isnít it? Sam is the one who hasn't forgiven you.
Amanda: Evan, just stay out of my life!
Jamie: Hey, Mom, have you seen my briefcase anywhere by any chance?
Rachel: Why would I see your briefcase around here?
Jamie: Where the hell is it, huh?
Rachel: You know, you kids are going to have to start fending for yourself. Your mother isnít going to be around here forever.
Jamie: Where's this coming from?
Jamie: The anger.
Rachel: I'm not angry. I'm just fed up that I have to look after everybody. I have to keep track of... you're right, I'm angry.
Jamie: With me?
Jamie: With what, then?
Rachel: With myself, I guess.
Jamie: Why are you angry at yourself?
Rachel: Look, Jamie, I donít seem to be getting much of a handle on anything around here.
Jamie: I'm not sure I understand.
Rachel: Look at the family. I donít seem to be able to help, do I?
Jamie: Are you talking about me?
Rachel: No, I'm not talking about you. You always seem to land on your feet.
Jamie: But you donít think Amanda will.
Rachel: If she doesn't, I'm going to feel just a little responsible.
Jamie: Wait a minute, now, how can you possibly be responsible? It's not your fault the two of them are fighting.
Rachel: Well, I have something to do with the way she turned out, donít I?
Jamie: And I think she's a pretty terrific person. Just because she's going through a rough time right now doesn't mean--
Rachel: She's restless.
Jamie: What exactly do you mean by--?
Rachel: She's not satisfied. She has everything. She should be grateful for everything, and it's not enough. She still wants more. It's just like me. Here I am--I have a home, I have a family who loves me very much. I've had the number one love of anybody's life, and I still am reaching.
Jamie: You're talking about Mitch.
Rachel: I'm talking about my whole life. Anyway, that's the way I see Amanda.
Jamie: Have you and Amanda ever talked about this?
Rachel: About what? About the fact that I'm worried she's a carbon-copy of me? No.
Jamie: I'm not sure I can buy your premise, Mom.
Rachel: It's not a premise. It's just a feeling. Look, it's not your problem, ok? I'm sorry I brought it up. Just forget about it. We just have to wait and see what happens.
Jamie: I'll get that.
Rachel: Mitch, you shouldnít have come.
Mitch: I told you that I was going to see you--
Rachel: And I had made up my mind that you werenít.
Mitch: Why did you call?
Rachel: Good point. Well, Felicia was right to hang up on me.
Mitch: She didnít have to do that.
Rachel: Oh, look at it from her point of view.
Mitch: I have. I've looked at it from lots of points of view.
Rachel: What happened last night?
Mitch: She asked me to tell her how I felt about you. I told her.
Rachel: Oh, she's probably really hurt.
Mitch: I wasn't going to lie to her.
Rachel: Oh. We should just stop seeing each other.
Rachel: But every time something goes wrong, you're the first person I turn to.
Rachel: It's not good. It's wrong. I shouldnít do it. I should rely on myself.
Rachel: You know why!
Mitch: Wait a minute. You said that something was upsetting you. What is it?
Rachel: Sam and Amanda.
Mitch: Is there trouble?
Rachel: It's Evan.
Mitch: Is that still going on?
Rachel: It's worse.
Mitch: I thought he was seeing Vicky.
Rachel: I donít know what's going on there. All I know is Sam is furious with Amanda. I'm afraid he's going to leave her.
Mitch: Are you serious?
Rachel: She's hurt him, but she's feeling alone and afraid.
Mitch: So what do you want me to do?
Rachel: Would you talk to him?
Rachel: Just tell him to hang in there just a little longer.
Mitch: Is it that bad?
Rachel: She's trying to control her feelings. I believe that.
Mitch: But Sam doesn't?
Rachel: It's a very strong attraction. It's not going to go away overnight.
Mitch: Does it ever?
Rachel: It has to.
Mitch: I'll try to help. It's going to be kind of touchy trying to give Sam advice, especially when I donít know what's going on with my own life.
Felicia: "Jacqueline suddenly fell to her knees. Her head was spinning as images flashed before her, overlapping with another"--change that-- "images of her beloved Leon and his harlot in her own room, her own bed--unfaithful. Leon was unfaithful to her, the man she loved more than her own life. The images flashed faster as the terrible, inescapable truth came to her. She still loved him and always would."
Lucas: Hi, Fanny.
Felicia: Luke, hi. Come on in. What brings you over here?
Lucas: Have you been crying?
Felicia: No, I have an allergy or something. Can I get you anything? Some breakfast or something?
Lucas: No, I'm fine.
Felicia: So, what's up?
Lucas: Fanny, we've been searching for months, and nothing happens. I mean, we're going nowhere.
Felicia: Well, we knew it would take time.
Lucas: I know, but the only thing that seems to be happening is that every day I get more and more discouraged.
Felicia: Go on.
Lucas: Well, the detectives I hired--they're running up huge bills, and they're coming back with zero.
Felicia: Well, I'd be happy to help you with the money.
Lucas: No, no, that's not it at all. I just... I donít know--I just... we donít have any leads, not one lead.
Felicia: You're not saying you want to give up, are you?
Lucas: Oh, no, never. I would never do that. I was just thinking of whether or not to keep the detectives on.
Felicia: Well, Luke, if you let them go, I mean, how--
Lucas: I know, it seems like I'm packing it in.
Felicia: I really donít want us to stop trying.
Lucas: Oh, I agree.
Felicia: I canít give up this dream that we're going to find our daughter. I canít lose that, too--
Lucas: Fanny, what are you saying?
Felicia: Nothing. I'm ok.
Lucas: No, you said "I canít lose that, too." What does that mean?
Felicia: I really donít want to talk about it.
Lucas: It's Mitch, isnít it? Come on, Fanny, talk to me.
Felicia: Yeah, it is Mitch... and Rachel.
Rachel: You're acting as though you donít care about your marriage.
Mitch: Look, I canít help it if this is the way that I feel. It's just the way that it is.
Rachel: It canít be that way. Donít you see that?
Mitch: It's not just me.
Rachel: No, I'm as much responsible for getting things out of hand.
Mitch: It seems very natural.
Rachel: It doesn't make it right. Not if we're hurting people. Donít you see? Here I am trying to get Amanda to act responsibly, and I know exactly how she feels. We have to do the responsible thing, Mitch. We have to help Sam and Amanda do the right thing.
Sam: Rachel, if I was as obnoxious before as I think I was, I apologize. Sorry, I didnít mean to interrupt.
Rachel: No, you're not interrupting. Please, Sam... Mitch is here to talk with you.
Vicky: I donít believe this.
Donna: I would have told you before, but--
Vicky: I was on the lam. What happened?
Donna: Well, you'll have to ask your father for the details.
Vicky: Why canít you tell me?
Donna: He says he's found somebody else.
Vicky: Oh, Mom.
Donna: You heard me.
Michael: Donna, I'd like to take Mikey out for his walk now.
Donna: All right.
Michael: I was wondering if you wouldnít mind getting his jacket for me.
Donna: Of course not. And while I'm doing that, maybe you can explain all the gory details to Victoria. Maybe she can understand it better than I do. Darling, come on. Let's go upstairs and get your jacket.
Vicky: I donít believe you.
Michael: I know it's difficult to accept.
Vicky: You love Mom. And even if you didnít love her, you would not cheat on her.
Michael: Victoria, sometimes these things--
Vicky: Donít give me that stupid line!
Michael: Well, what would you like me to say then?
Vicky: Nothing. I know what happened.
Vicky: I lied to everybody about Jake and Steven, and you and Mom got in a big fight, and it's been building ever since then. This is all my fault!
Michael: You're wrong, Victoria.
Victoria: I never should have told Mom.
Michael: Vicky, this has nothing to do with you.
Vicky: You left for a while after you found out. That--that's what hurt your marriage, isnít it?
Michael: Honey, come on, you couldn't hurt my marriage. Please, donít blame yourself.
Vicky: Is that when you met her, this, um... other woman?
Michael: No, that's not when I met her, and that's not what happened.
Vicky: I donít want to know this--this person's name. I want you to think about what you're doing.
Michael: I think we should talk about this another time.
Vicky: Do you know what this is doing not only to Mom but to all of us?
Michael: I... donít you think I've thought about this over and over and over again?
Vicky: I never realized just how much my family meant to me until I left it. And I came back here to fix all my dumb mistakes, and then you did this.
Michael: Well, I haven't made any permanent decisions here.
Vicky: Permanent decisions?
Michael: Victoria, I donít want you to worry.
Vicky: Donít worry? What the hell am I supposed to do?
Donna: All right. All set.
Michael: Ok. Hey, buddy. Oh, lookin' pretty good there. Oh, yes, you are.
Donna: Now, young man, you leave this jacket on. It's cold outside. I know you think you're macho enough to play without it, but you keep it on, all right?
Michael: Yeah, I think you want to stay warm here. Thanks.
[Whispers] We'll talk.
Sam: What do you want to talk to me about?
Mitch: Take a look at this. It's Rachelís dance card from the ball.
Sam: Yeah, so?
Mitch: Do you see the last name?
Sam: Ken Jordan. Was he at the ball?
Mitch: I know he didnít dance with her.
Sam: Look, Mitch, just give Rachel the note and let her decide what to do.
Mitch: What, do you think I like keeping it a secret from her? I donít want her to get mixed up with this guy, not until I know who he is and what he wants.
Sam: Fine. Count me out of it. I have enough intrigue in my life as it is.
Mitch: I hear you and Amanda had some kind of fight?
Sam: Yeah, some kind.
Mitch: Want to talk about it?
Sam: Not particularly.
Mitch: I just hope you know what you're doing. I hope you understand what the consequences are.
Mitch: Well, Mitch, since we're tossing around advice, why donít you stop trying to be everybody's savior?
Michael: Yeah, I think maybe we should sit down here and have ourselves a little talk, ok? Ohhh. Well... do you remember that I told you I'd never lie to you, huh? You remember I said that? Well... I want you to know that I meant it. I never would lie to you because I love you, and I want you to know that nothing in the whole world would ever change the way I feel about you. It's just that sometimes... sometimes parents--all grown-ups--have to do some things that they donít want to do, and that's what's happening right now with me. I--I have to stay away from home right now. I know that's not much of an answer, but it's the truth. I have to. Do you understand that? Yeah? Look, I know that your mom is really angry with me right now, and I think that maybe, maybe you are too, and I just want you to know that it's ok. It's ok to be angry. It's ok to feel whatever it is you're feeling. I just want you to know that I'm making you a promise, and I'm going to make things better as soon as I can, ok? You understand me? That's my guy. That's my guy. Ohh... what I'd like you to do is I'd like you to talk to your mom, to me, about anything you want. You can ask questions. You can tell us how you're feeling. That's really important right now. It's also important that you show your mom how much you love her. Can you do that, huh? That's not a problem, is it? No, it's not. Now, there's one more thing I'd like you to do. Will you do something for me? Will you give me the biggest hug in the whole world? Oh, that's my guy. I love you so much.
Lucas: I canít believe this. I canít believe this. He's two-timing you?
Felicia: I donít actually think he's done anything unfaithful.
Lucas: What did he say to you?
Felicia: He said... that he had strong feelings for Rachel.
Lucas: How can he even look at another woman? He's married to the best there is.
Felicia: That's very sweet of you, Luke.
Lucas: It's not sweet. It's not sweet at all.
Felicia: You know, this has been hard on Mitch, too.
Lucas: Oh, really? How? Why?
Felicia: Yes, you and I, and all that we've been together.
Lucas: That's not the same thing, and you know it, Fanny. I told him if he hurt you, he'd be sorry! I told him--
Felicia: Luke, wait a minute. Where are you going?
Lucas: Listen, where is he? Look, look, I'm gonna take care of this.
Felicia: Luke, you've got to calm down, you do.
Lucas: Where is he? With Rachel?
Felicia: I donít want to see you like this, please!
Lucas: Oh, I donít want to see you like this!
Felicia: I can handle it--
Lucas: Nobody is gonna hurt you!
Felicia: ...I'm a grown-up! Please. Please. I lied to you. I canít handle it. I canít. I canít take any more. Please.
Lucas: I should've never let you go.
Mitch: Sam doesn't want to hear any advice from me.
Rachel: I see.
Mitch: He doesn't want me to interfere.
Rachel: You didnít get to talk about Amanda at all?
Mitch: No, I'm sorry.
Jamie: Excuse me, Mom. That's Vicky at the door. I'd appreciate it very much--
Vicky: Hilda, donít worry about it. Hi, I'm sorry, I couldn't wait in the hall. Uh, Jamie, I need to talk to you.
Rachel: I'll show you out, Mitch. Excuse me.
Vicky: I need to explain what happened.
Jamie: Donít bother.
Vicky: Why I took Steven and why I brought him back.
Jamie: You told me last night.
Vicky: Can we talk, please?
Jamie: I've been advised to have as little to do with you as possible until things are settled.
Vicky: That means you're going through with the kidnapping charges?
Jamie: I haven't decided yet.
Vicky: I see.
Jamie: But in my more lucid moments, I feel you should be made accountable for your actions, that you should pay for the pain you caused me and my family and your family.
Vicky: Jamie, I know what I did was irresponsible. Worse than that, I know it was a terrible mistake and I deserve any punishment I get, but as you know, I'm already suffering not being able to be with my child. However, I have learned from my mistake, and if you give me another chance, then I will prove to--
Jamie: I have heard it all before, Vicky, many times.
Vicky: This is a different--
Jamie: It doesn't sound different this time. It's the same words, Vicky--the same excuses, the same remorse, the same--
Vicky: Jamie, please!
Jamie: ...Promises to change. I just donít believe them anymore. Now, will you please go? Stevenís asleep, and I have to get to work.
Evan: Here you go. Re you go. Look what I got here. Let's see, we're going to put this one, uh... well, we'll put this one right here, and we'll move down here, and we'll put this one right here.
Molly: On my desk? I think it looks great. We'll put another one right here.
Molly: But I wonít be able to see, Mr. Bates.
Evan: Oh, that's a good point, Molly. Huh. Amanda, we're having a little problem here with these Christmas decorations. Can you give us some advice?
Amanda: I am really not in the Christmas mood.
Evan: Hmm... listen, I owe you an apology, and I'm sorry.
Amanda: Forget it.
Evan: No, no, I'm not going to forget it. I shouldnít have pushed you so hard earlier. What goes on between you and Sam is none of my business.
Amanda: Well, I'm glad you finally realize that.
Evan: Well, let's just say sometimes it takes me a little longer than normal.
Amanda: Donít worry about it, all right?
Evan: The only thing I do worry about is you.
Amanda: I'm fine.
Evan: So if you ever need to talk or anything, you know where to find me.
Evan: And, by the way, we still have a lot of decorating to do. Donít you want to give us a hand?
Amanda: Hey, I told you, I'm not in the mood.
Evan: Oh, come on. It'll make you feel better. Let's go.
Amanda: I canít believe Christmas is almost here.
Evan: Well, why donít you deck a bough or two, and you'll believe that it's almost here.
Amanda: Maybe later, if I have time.
Evan: Try to get in the spirit, will you?
Amanda: Maybe later.
Evan: Well, I'll be waiting.
Evan: [Voiceover] I know how hard it is for you to hear me say this, but I do love you.
