Olivia: It's beautiful. Thank you. It's--it's beautiful, what you did--the sketch.
Sam: Yeah. Well, I'd better be getting back.
Olivia: All right, but thank you again. It's great.
Sam: Yeah. I'm glad you like it.
Olivia: I never expected you--well, what I mean is that no one has been interested in how I feel--well, being in the contest.
Sam: I think you will find that a lot of people are interested.
Olivia: Well, then you're the first person who has ever said anything.
Josie: Uh--Mama, come on.
Sharlene: Oh, hi! How are you?
Olivia: Hi. Hi, Josie.
Josie: Hi, Olivia.
Olivia: Well, you guys look very happy.
Sharlene: Well, thank you. That is because we are.
Olivia: I love your dress; you look beautiful.
Sharlene: Thank you very much, but now it is time to change out of it.
John: Yes, and get out of this thing.
Sam: Wait, does that mean that you guys are leaving?
John: Well, we would love to stay and chat, but you see, we have this honeymoon thing, the two of us.
Sam: Well, yeah. I tell you what--I've got to go and warn some people before you guys, like, split.
Olivia: So, where are you going? Oh, I am not supposed to ask?
Sharlene: No, it is really not that, Olivia. I simply donít know.
Olivia: You donít?
John: We need to get going, though.
Sharlene: All right. Olivia, I'm very glad you could be here.
Olivia: Thank you. I wouldnít have missed it. Have fun.
John: See you.
Sharlene: Come on.
Josie: Hurry up.
Olivia: Well, I have got to go, too.
Josie: Uh, just a minute.
Josie: What exactly was going on between you and Sam in here?
Amanda: Excuse me. Jamie doesn't look very happy.
Ada: Well, weddings aren't much fun for people who are getting a divorce, you know.
Amanda: I guess not.
Vicky: Hey, baby, want some champagne?
Jake: No, thanks.
Vicky: Come on, you're going to make me feel like a two-fisted drinker here.
Jake: I'm sorry. I'm just not in the mood, you know?
Vicky: Jake, the reception is almost over; Marleyís not going to show up.
Jake: Maybe her--she's late--the plane is late or something, all right?
Vicky: Well, we both know Marley, and I think she would have called.
Jake: She is going to be here, Vicky. Just lay off.
Donna: You love me.
Donna: I know you do, otherwise you wouldnít have said what you did to your mother--
Michael: Donna, really, I was only talking about--
Donna: I heard you. I heard what you said and I think that this whole separation is a put-on, and I know why.
Olivia: Well, Sam was just wishing me good luck with the fresh faces contest.
Josie: Oh, the fresh faces. How could I forget?
Olivia: He gave me this.
Josie: It's beautiful.
Olivia: So, what about you?
Olivia: People wishing you luck?
Josie: Well, sure, all the time. Lucas and Iris have been great.
Olivia: Well, hope it helps.
Matt: There you are. I've been looking all over for you, young miss. Hi, Olivia.
Josie: Looking for me, huh?
Matt: Yeah. Were you--is this a bad time?
Josie: No, no, not at all.
Olivia: No problem. I've got to go anyway. So long.
Josie: Bye, Olivia.
Olivia: See you at the finals.
Matt: Finals. Let me guess, you two were having a friendly discussion about the fresh faces contest.
Josie: I donít think Olivia and I are ever very friendly.
Matt: Mm. She still thinks she's going to win.
Josie: That's what she thinks.
Matt: But you donít agree.
Josie: Not after what Lucas told me. Do you know the first thing I'm going to do when I win--I mean, if I win?
Matt: What's it going to be when you win?
Josie: I am going to buy you the most amazing present.
Matt: Two scoops, chocolate, vanilla--
Josie: No, no, this is serious. When I get that contract we are going to do all kinds of things. We're going to have the time of our lives.
Matt: I have the time of my life right now with you.
Josie: No, I mean we're going to be really happy.
Matt: Aren't you happy?
Josie: Well, of course I am. You always make me happy. I need this, I really do. Oh, Matthew, I canít wait till I win.
Ada: Ready now?
Sam: That's what John said.
Ada: Well, I have got to go do the birdseed detail.
Sam: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Birdseed?
Ada: Well, yeah, you canít throw rice any more. They found out that the rice kills the birds; the birds eat it.
Amanda: You know, you two were definitely the best looking couple out there on the dance floor.
Rachel: Well, thank you.
Jamie: Thank you.
Amanda: You are welcome. And you owe me a dance.
Jamie: Oh, that is right; I do.
Jamie: Hi, Sam. How are you doing?
Amanda: I didnít know you were back.
Sam: I'm here.
Jamie: Look, Amanda, I'll tell you what--why donít you and Sam dance, and I'll just sit this one out, ok?
Amanda: All right.
Sam: Are you ok, Jamie?
Rachel: No, he's not.
Jamie: I'm fine.
Amanda: What is the matter?
Jamie: It's no big deal, ok?
Sam: What is it?
Jamie: I got my divorce papers in the mail today, ok?
Sam: I'm sorry.
Jamie: It's not the best feeling in the world, but what are you going to do?
Amanda: Well, I guess Vicky probably got hers too, right?
Jamie: Yeah. Well, she may not have looked in the mail before she left.
Sam: Ooh, so they're probably in her mailbox waiting for her to get home.
Jamie: Yeah. I was going to tell her about it, but she takes everything I say the wrong way.
Zack: Do you like being with me?
Ronnie: Of course I do.
Zack: And we have been seeing each other for months now, right?
Zack: So how come when I try and get close, you head for the hills?
Ronnie: Get close?
Zack: Come on, you know what I mean.
Zack: Yeah--"oh." What is the problem, Ronnie? What--is it me? I smell, right?
Ronnie: Of course not.
Zack: Then what?
Ronnie: You know, I wonder why Cass did not show up today.
Zack: I donít know, and right now I donít care. Come on, what's going on with you, Ronnie? Level with me--am I just somebody who takes you places?
Ronnie: No, you are not just somebody who takes me places. Maybe I'm not what you are looking for, Zack. I'm not that kind of a woman.
Zack: Hey, what is that supposed to mean?
Ronnie: I was not brought up that way, ok?
Zack: Brought up that way? I'm not talking about some roll in the hay--
Ronnie: That is your description, not mine.
Zack: Look, I care about you, Ronnie.
Ronnie: It is not that simple for me, Zack.
Zack: Why? What aren't you telling me?
Donna: You can walk away from me all you want, I still know. This is some kind of a test, isnít it? You are trying to get me to prove to you how much I care.
Michael: You do not understand.
Donna: Do you want to see a marriage counselor? I will do it. I mean it, Michael. I will do anything that it takes. Let's just stop this game and go home.
Michael: Donna, this is not a game; this is not a test.
Donna: Oh, it's not. Well, then why did you tell all those things to Clara?
Michael: I was just--
Donna: Tell me that you were lying. Tell me.
Michael: I was talking to John and Sharlene and my mother and--
Donna: And what?
Michael: Donna, just because I love some things about you does not mean our marriage will work, all right?
Donna: Michael, it can work if you will just stop this ridiculous--
Michael: No, stop it!
Vicky: You guys, I need some advice. Listen, Jake is really upset. I told him Marley is not going to come, so nowís moping in the corner and I donít know what to do. What do you think I should do?
Michael: Well, I think that sometimes it takes some people a while to own up to the truth.
Michael: So I think that you should just give it time, because eventually they'll realize what is going on.
Vicky: What is going on with you two?
Vicky: You have been staring holes through each other all night long and acting funny. Please tell me what is going on.
Donna: Take my word for it, whatever it is it will be over by the end of the night.
Vicky: What? What is? What is it?
Michael: So you found that red swan in the afternoon, you say?
Lucas: Oh, I donít remember what time it was. I'm just happy it's back.
Michael: All right.
Lucas: That's all, I mean--
Lucas: Listen, this is a wonderful evening. Your brother must be a happy man.
Michael: I'm sure he is. Now tell me.
Lucas: Come on, I mean, I am just relieved that the swan is back. A lot of people were hurt by its disappearance. I do not want anybody else to be hurt. I'm being paged. Excuse me.
Arianne: [Flashback] Look at the car parked directly behind Donnaís. It's a nondescript brown sedan, license number MCP-898.
Michael: Did someone tail Donna here?
Arianne: Look, Michael, we are keeping an eye on her.
Michael: You keep an eye on her! She is in danger every minute.
Arianne: Then do it now, Michael. Tell her! Lucas is there, and so is the goon who is following Donna. Do you want him to be following her when the party is over?
Michael: Relax, Arianne. I know what I have to do.
Sharlene: I canít believe this isnít finished yet.
Ada: Oh, so, we will finish it now.
Sharlene: Yeah, but this is embarrassing, I'm leaving on my honeymoon.
Ada: Hold still.
Sharlene: Josie, honey, is John getting the car?
Ada: Donít worry; he is not going to drive off and leave you.
Sharlene: Well, I just want to make sure that everything goes right.
Josie: Everything is fine. You are absolutely glowing, Mom.
Sharlene: Am I?
Ada: I wonder why.
Josie: You know, you were right.
Sharlene: About what?
Josie: When we moved here you said moving to Bay City was going to be the best move we ever made.
Ada: Always listen to your children when they tell you you did something right; it May be the last time you hear it.
Sharlene: Well, it has gone well, hasn't it?
Josie: Yes, it has. You are happily married to the man you love, and I am just about to embark on a great modeling career. Just ask Lucas.
Sharlene: Yeah. Listen, you. I hope you are always as happy as I am today.
Ada: There we go. Ok. Let's go.
Sharlene: Oo, all right, I will. Ada, thank you, love. I am going to go get my stuff.
Josie: I'll get your bag. I do not want you to forget your clothes.
Sharlene: Oh, my clothes?
[Phone rings] Hey--hello? This is the Frame residence. Marley? Marley, guess who just walked in here.
Jake: Marley, it's me.
John: You had me figured for the perennial bachelor, didnít you?
Michael: Well, come to think of it, I did, but you've always had a surprise or two held in storage just for me, I know.
John: What are we walking this way for?
Michael: Well, as a matter of fact, I thought you might want to see your beautiful bride, so come right this way, please, ok?
Ada: All right, ok. John and Sharlene are ready to go now, so let's give them a great big Bay City sendoff.
[Cheering and applause]
Vicky: Come on, grandma, are we ready to go home?
Clara: Oh, I'm more than ready.
Vicky: Hey, Dad?
Vicky: We are on our way.
Michael: Ok. Well, bye, Mom.
Clara: Yeah, I'm a little tired. Vicky will take me home.
Michael: Well, it's been a long day.
Clara: Oh, yes, but a good one.
Vicky: I will see you later.
Michael: Ok. Look, I will call you.
Clara: Donít you forget.
Vicky: Dad, Mom needs to talk to you.
Michael: Yeah, I think I'll just walk you to the door, ok.
Amanda: Come on, let's dance.
Sam: I canít pretend that everything is fine, Amanda. Nothing has been fine since you and Evan went to New York.
Vicky: Right, bye.
Michael: Take care. Bye, Mom.
Clara: Goodbye, dear.
Michael: See you.
Donna: You canít ignore me all night.
Michael: Donna, we have nothing to talk about.
Donna: Yes, we do. You love me, I love you--
Michael: Look, I do not want to talk about this here, all right? I donít want to make a public scene either.
Donna: I donít want to make a scene either--
Michael: No, I donít want a marriage counselor. I donít want to continue this marriage with you! I want out! Is that clear?
Donna: Michael, we have to talk about--
Michael: Donna, I want you to understand me, all right? It is over!
Donna: Lower your voice.
Michael: Do you want me to lower my voice? I raised my voice because you seemed to not hear me, Donna. I want nothing to do with you! Am I clear? It is over!
Donna: What are you all looking at?
Donna: No. Just leave me alone!
Iris: I donít believe it.
Iris: Donna must've done something really terrible for Michael to behave like that.
Donna: No, get out of here, Jake. Please, just leave me alone. Please, just leave me alone. Please.
Jake: It's Michael, isnít it?
Donna: He just screamed at me in front of everybody, and then he just stormed out.
Jake: I donít believe that guy.
Donna: It canít be over. He just wants it to be over and it canít be over!
Jake: I know how you feel. I...I just got off the phone with Marley.
Donna: Is she all right?
Jake: Oh, yeah, she is fine.
Donna: She's not coming, is she?
Jake: That's the good news, Donna. She said, "I never want to see you again."
Donna: Oh, Jake, I am so sorry. I am so sorry.
Jake: Yeah, right, Donna. Everybody's sorry! Nobody is as sorry as you and I.
Donna: I know. She is still angry about what happened, and maybe she will change her mind.
Jake: I've got to get out of here, Donna.
Donna: I have to, too, but my car is out there. Everybody is out there.
Jake: Forget about your car; let's take my bike.
Donna: Your bike? Are you kidding me?
Jake: No. No, we will just go through the kitchen. Nobody will see us.
Donna: Ok. Ok, I'll just ride sidesaddle. Let's go.
Vicky: Bridget, I know you are upset you didnít go to the wedding, but isnít this long puss caring it a bit too far?
Vicky: What--what is it?
Bridget: Well, you see, I--
Vicky: What about Steven? There is nothing wrong with Steven, is there?
Bridget: Oh, no, dear. It is not Steven or Maggie. No, they are fine. Fine dear, yes.
Vicky: Then what is it?
Bridget: Well, I...
Bridget: Well, I put a piece of mail there for you.
Bridget: Well, I do not think it is something you're going to feel very good about, dear.
Vicky: What is this?
Bridget: Victoria? Victoria, I want you to listen to me, dear. I mean, it's not that you did not know this was coming. I mean, it is nothing new, you know? But I mean, I know you feel now that it's final. I know you very well, and I know you're always blaming yourself. You know, you did do the very best you could do, and now that itís... well, I...
Vicky: Can I have a few minutes alone, please?
Bridget: Yes, of course. Of course, dear. Of course.
Iris: Michael, could I talk to you for a minute?
Michael: If it is about Donna, no.
Iris: I have no intention of say anything about Donna.
Michael: I lost my car keys. Did you see them anywhere?
Iris: I just wanted to know if you were all right.
Michael: It's a brown, kind of a red case--leather.
Iris: Anyway, I'd be the last person to say anything disparaging about your wife.
Michael: I donít believe this.
Iris: Because I happen to know what a devastating experience it is having you walk out on someone.
Michael: Iris, I do not want to talk about this, all right?
Iris: All right, I just--
Michael: Damn, where are my keys?
Lucas: Are you looking for these?
Michael: Thank you.
Lucas: My pleasure. Good night.
Iris: He is so upset.
Lucas: I never expected to see a scene like that at a wedding reception.
Lucas: But then again, why not? It has been one of those days. Surprises all around.
Iris: It certainly has, hasn't it? By the way, what happened with you and Felicia?
Matt: Did Sam do this?
Olivia: Mm-hmm. He gave it to me a little while ago.
Matt: Very nice, very nice.
Olivia: He wanted to wish me good luck with the fresh faces contest.
Matt: Yeah, right. Hmm.
Olivia: That reminds me, I never had a chance to say goodnight to your family.
Matt: Oh, yeah, they slipped out when nobody was looking. Sam and Amanda first. They seemed to be acting strange about something tonight.
Olivia: Were they?
Matt: Yeah. I never could figure out why.
Amanda: Sam, we have to talk about this tonight.
Sam: Fine, but not now.
Ada: [From inside] Well, we better just forget about it, ok?
Amanda: Sam, you canít just go making up rules like that.
Rachel: Hi, guys.
Ada: Listen--we have to get ready for Thanksgiving. I haven't even started the stuffing yet.
Rachel: I donít want to think about Thanksgiving.
Ada: Rachel, it is tomorrow.
Rachel: I donít care; I donít want to think about it.
Amanda: Daddy wonít be here. Who is going to sit at the head of the table? Who is going to make our toast?
Sam: We'll get through it, Rachel.
Jamie: We'll all be here.
Rachel: Yeah, we'll be together--and the babies. It will be Stevenís first.
Jamie: Mom, um--
Rachel: We'll do it for him, for Steven.
Amanda: We'll make it a happy day, Mom.
Rachel: I guess we'll try. Let's go up and see Alli; I haven't seen her all day.
Amanda: Sure. Sam?
Ada: What is the matter?
Ada: What do you mean, "What"? You were trying to tell your mother something, that's what.
Jamie: Yeah. Vicky asked if she could have Steven for half the day tomorrow.
Ada: Did you agree?
Jamie: At the time it seemed reasonable.
Ada: Well, maybe you can talk to Vicky about it, you know? Thanksgiving morning has always been very special.
Jamie: Yeah, I know. Mac always insisted on stuffing the turkey himself.
Ada: If Rachel has a baby with her it might take her mind off of him. I wish we could invite Vicky here.
Jamie: No, that wouldnít work. What am I supposed to do, grandma?
Ada: Well, Vicky has Steven at Christmastime, right?
Ada: Why donít you talk to her? Maybe she wonít mind if Steven stays here all day tomorrow, huh? How is Alli?
Amanda: She's sound asleep. Mom's gone up to bed already.
Ada: Well, I'm gone to the kitchen; I have to start that stuffing.
Jamie: I'm going to hit the sack myself. I will see you two in the morning.
Ada: Goodnight, everybody.
Amanda: Ok, we're alone.
Amanda: Sam, you canít give me ultimatums like that, saying that you're going to leave if anything else ever happens with Evan.
Sam: You canít have it both ways, Amanda. Take it or leave it.
Vicky: Come on in; you are just in time for a divorce party.
Evan: Hi, how are you doing?
Vicky: Oo, the papers finally came.
Evan: Yes, I heard.
Vicky: Yeah? Oh, I am so sorry I donít have balloons or paper party hats, but it was kind of a last-minute thing, you know?
Evan: Surprise party, huh?
Vicky: Yeah. Hey, Bridget, why donít you go get us a nice bottle of champagne? I think this party calls for a nice bottle of something, donít you?
Evan: No, no. I'm fine, thank you.
Vicky: Oh, come on. I want you to have a drink because I want to have a toast. To freedom! To Victoria Love Hudson Frame... Hudson. Well, there was one too many names in it anyway.
Vicky: To single parenthood.
Evan: Listen to me--I know you are hurting.
Vicky: Do I look like I'm hurting?
Vicky: Ok. I'm upset, sure. But probably not in the way that you imagine.
Evan: I know you love Jamie.
Evan: But it must hurt when you think about him.
Vicky: No. Losing Jamie was the one good part in all this. Now I donít have to see his disappointed face or hear him say, "Vicky, why did you ruin it?"
Evan: What was the bad part?
Vicky: Me. I blew it, Evan.
Evan: Vicky, two people get married and two people get divorced.
Vicky: No, Evan, I blew it... again. Like everything else in my life that's good, I blew it.
Evan: That is not true.
Vicky: Yes, it is.
Evan: No, it's not.
Vicky: You name me one thing that I haven't screwed up.
Evan: You are a good friend.
Vicky: Oh, terrific.
Evan: And you are a good mother.
Vicky: Yes. Yes, I am a very good mother. That is the one thing that I've done right, Evan.
Evan: Steven loves you, and he will always love you.
Vicky: I hope so. Thank God for that little boy. Because Evan, if I didnít have him on Thanksgiving Day, I donít know what I would do.
John: Thank you very much.
Sharlene: This must have cost a fortune.
John: Hey, it is our honeymoon.
Sharlene: But did you see the lobby? This must be the fanciest hotel in Chicago.
John: Well, good, I did it right. Only the best for Sharlene Hudson. If you're like us, youíll never want
Iris: You never want to talk about Felicia. Why is that, do you think?
Lucas: Iris, everybody's leaving. Let's not get started on Felicia.
Iris: No, I think we better.
Iris: Because I want to know what happened?
Iris: Look, I saw you following Felicia out, and I saw you coming back upset, and I just want to know what went on.
Lucas: Iris, let's go.
Iris: No. No, either you tell me the truth or I'm going home alone.
Lucas: You donít mean that.
Iris: Yes, I do mean it.
Lucas: Ok, you're right. These last few weeks have been very confusing for me.
Iris: Well, you can imagine what they've been like for me then.
Lucas: I know. I've been very on and off lately, but that is over. It's you I care about, Iris, nobody else.
Iris: Nobody else?
Amanda: You know nothing happened in New York.
Sam: I also know we are right back where we started.
Sam: Evan goes off to New York and you follow.
Amanda: I only went because Mom wasn't even here--
Sam: Oh, come on, Amanda. You were dying to go on that trip to New York with him.
Amanda: That is not true.
Sam: Then how come the next time I see you, you're playing bride and groom at John and Sharleneís wedding rehearsal?
Amanda: Come on, Evan didnít even know anything about that.
Sam: And giving each other long, meaningful looks during the ceremony. And after the ceremony, standing next to each other during all the pictures.
Amanda: You're taking all of theses small things and you are blowing them all way out of proportion.
Sam: You're calling New York a small thing?
Amanda: It was a business trip. Nothing happened!
Sam: This is getting to be a long string of innocent little events, Amanda.
Amanda: That's all my fault, right?
Sam: You're allowing them to happen.
Amanda: It is my fault. I knew it.
Sam: I thought that we were through this, when we got back from Bermuda.
Amanda: What is the big deal about a photograph? As for the wedding rehearsal--
Sam: He's there, Amanda; he is always there. And you allow him to be.
Amanda: All right. Let me tell you the truth about New York. I did have a good time there. I enjoyed the meetings. I like New York. It was actually nice to get away from all this sadness in this house for a little while. But if you think for one second that I could let--
Sam: Amanda, I really do not care about the energy and excitement of the corporate world. I care about us.
Amanda: Part of us is me, and I do care about those things.
Sam: Yeah, obviously.
Amanda: Sam, I canít always discuss business with you, so I discuss some of it with Evan. Why is that so terrible?
Sam: Is that all you do--discuss it?
Amanda: Yes, that is all I do is discuss it. The same as you and Olivia discuss art for hours and hours in the studio. Isnít that what you were doing?
Sam: Now what the hell is that supposed to mean?
Amanda: Nothing. It's late. I'm tired. I'm just--look, I am just trying to tell you that we canít always be each other's best friend every minute of the day. The important thing is that I love you.
Zack: Before I go, you are going to talk to me.
Ronnie: Zack, you've been after me since the reception.
Zack: Come on, now, I've never heard you talk like that. What is this, "I am not that kind of a woman"? I mean, is this a time warp or something? Is this the 19th century or what?
Ronnie: Zack, that is the way my mother raised me.
Zack: What, raised you to not get close to anybody?
Ronnie: When I was in school, I mean, girls were getting pregnant at 15 and 16.
Zack: I think we are a little older than that, sweetheart.
Ronnie: It's not just my mother, Zack; it's me. I donít want to make a physical commitment--
Zack: Until you're married. So that means you...
Ronnie: The world's oldest virgin? Yeah. Look, I'm not trying to put any pressure on you.
Zack: Hey, I can appreciate that. I mean, I really can, but... there's a problem.
Zack: Well, I donít agree with your mother or you. I think if people are mature and pretty sure that they love each other.
Ronnie: Zack... what?
Zack: Ok. We're having dinner at your mother's tomorrow, right?
Ronnie: Yeah, she's already cooking.
Zack: After dinner, after we've cleaned up, after we've told her how great her pumpkin pie was, I want you to leave with me and we're going to go someplace and have a very nice weekend. Now, donít say yes; donít say no--just think about it.
Donna: Oh! I remember this place. This was where I saw you with that girl.
Jake: Oh, yes, that was when you told Marley I was--what was it--"cutting out on her," that's it.
Donna: Oh, I'm sorry. I made such an awful mistake with that.
Jake: Donít worry about it; you made up for it tonight.
Jake: Just watching you crawl on the back of the bike in that outfit was worth a thrill.
Donna: You go too fast.
Jake: Can it, Donna.
Donna: And I totally messed up my hair. Look at my hair, and we're going to sit at the bar!
Jake: I am not in the mood for complaints, all right?
Donna: You know, has anybody ever told you how self-centered you are?
Jake: Sure, you.
Donna: Your attitude is just appalling, especially with women.
Jake: That does it. If you'll excuse me, I'm leaving now.
Donna: No, no, no.
Jake: Donna, I am not in the mood for any of your lip service tonight, ok?
Donna: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I am just so upset about Michael I do not know what I'm doing.
Jake: Look, maybe this wasn't a good idea.
Donna: Oh, no, no, no, it was. I donít want to be alone, not tonight.
Evan: You're right.
Vicky: Terrible joke.
Evan: Well, it works, though.
Vicky: That's cute. I mean, it's--it's funny that you can make me laugh with such a stupid joke.
Vicky: I'm about ready to give my life one last flush and then you make me laugh.
Evan: Well, I'm glad.
Vicky: You are a good friend, Evan.
Evan: Well, unfortunately, this good friend has to go. Now... are you going to be ok?
Vicky: Yeah. Yeah... I am, ok?
Vicky: Oh, wait.
Evan: When I put this thing on, I look like a penguin.
Vicky: I did want to ask you how your weekend went with Amanda--the big New York escapade?
Evan: Well, maybe I made some progress, maybe not. We'll see.
Vicky: Is it hopeful?
Evan: I'm always hopeful.
Vicky: God, some day I hope I get a man that loves me as much as you love Amanda. She's lucky.
[Phone rings] I'll get it, Bridget. Hello?
Jamie: Vicky, it's me.
Vicky: Oh, hi. Get your papers today?
Jamie: Yeah, did you?
Vicky: Oh, yeah. We just had a little party to celebrate.
Jamie: Well, that's wonderful. Listen, I know it's late and I donít want to keep you, but we have a problem.
Vicky: What kind of problem?
Jamie: I canít bring Steven over tomorrow.
Jamie: I am sorry, but I should have checked before I said I could.
Vicky: Jamie, you promised me.
Jamie: I know I did, and I'm sorry. But my mother is having a really hard time.
Vicky: I am having a really hard time, Jamie.
Jamie: I know you are, too. I'm sorry.
Vicky: Donít do this to me. Please, donít do this.
Jamie: Vicky, you get Steven for Christmas. On Thanksgiving, I want my son with me. Goodnight.
Vicky: You canít do that, Jamie. He's my baby. He's my baby.
Ronnie: I need some hot stuff baby, tonight I want some hot stuff baby, this evening gotta have some hot stuff gotta have a love tonight I want some hot stuff I'm talking, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot stuff.
Donna: You're going to think this is silly, really.
Jake: Anytime somebody says that they're dying to tell you what they're thinking. Go ahead and tell me.
Donna: All right. I looked really good today. I did. I looked very good today. I made it a point to look good. And every single man at that wedding reception asked me to dance. There were even perfect strangers, didnít even know me, asked me to dance.
Jake: Smart strangers.
Donna: I turned down every one of them because I was waiting for Michael. Michael. I just think that's very funny. I think it is very funny, donít you? Mmm.
Jake: Come here.
Come on, girls. Do you believe in love? 'Cause I've got something to say about it and it goes something like this donít go for second best, baby put your lover to the test you know, you know, you know you got to make him express how he feels and baby then you know your love is real you donít need diamond rings or...
[Car door opens]
Arianne: How did it go?
Michael: She bought it.
Arianne: What about the people around you?
Michael: I gave a good performance, all right? The look in Donnaís eyes said that I was very effective.
Arianne: Michael, I'm sorry.
Michael: Well, you should be.
Arianne: You did the right thing.
Michael: Well, it feels like the worst thing I have ever done in my entire life.
Look at this face I know the years are showing look at this life I still donít know where it's going I donít know much but I know I love you and that May be all I need to know
Look at these eyes they've never seen what mattered look at these dreams so beaten and so battered
I donít know much
But I know I love you and that may be all I need to know
So many questions still left unanswered so much I've never broken through
And when I feel you near me sometimes I see so clearly
The only truth I've ever known is me and you
Look at this man so blessed with inspiration
Look at this soul
Still searching for salvation
I donít know much but I know I love you and that May be all I need to know I donít know much but I know I love you and that May be all there is to know
Whoa, whoa ah, aye, aye
