Josie: This is it.
Matt: Huh. You didnít tell me it was the sixth-floor walkup.
Josie: Oh. Well, it's kind of a mess.
Matt: I would have eaten more carbohydrates, you know.
Josie: It's really actually kind of cute when it's straightened up, I swear. It's really hard finding an apartment in this city. I mean, it's so expensive.
Matt: Josie --
Matt: Why aren't you out of breath?
Josie: Hey, you get used to walking up and down those steps, believe me. I mean, this city will put you in shape. Walking up the subway steps, walking down the subway steps.
Matt: Come here.
Matt: I've missed you so much.
Josie: I have missed you, too.
Matt: Hold it.
Matt: Yeah, you little -- ugh. Well, it was a cockroach.
Josie: Well, I sprayed this morning.
Matt: You ever try those roach motels, hotels --
Josie: Hmm, no, I canít stand the thought of seeing those little bugs all stuck inside that little box --
Josie: Hanging upside down.
Matt: Oh, a naturalist, huh? Hmm. There's another one crawling on the pillow.
Josie: Try to ignore it.
Matt: Josie, this place is a dump.
Josie: I know. Reuben and I had some fun times here.
Matt: Oh. I'm not having such a bad time myself. Have you ever thought about not going home?
Josie: Where would I go?
Matt: You'd stay with me, forever.
Rachel: Well, almost to the second.
Rachel: The court stipulated you could visit the baby at 12:00 noon, and you arrived as the clock was striking.
Vicky: Well, I've been cut off from my son, except for this pathetically short visit. Did you think I'd be late?
Jamie: I saw your car in the driveway.
Vicky: What, was I parked in a no-standing zone or something? Come on, you baby. Come here, baby.
Jamie: How is she?
Rachel: What do you mean?
Jamie: I passed her car on the way in. There were suitcases in the back seat.
Rachel: You think she's planning on taking off with him?
Jamie: She's tried it before.
Vicky: Well, we're ready to go.
Jamie: Vicky --
Vicky: What do you want?
Jamie: Where are you taking him?
Vicky: I donít have to tell you that, and I wonít.
[Knock on door]
Lucas: Catherine. What are you doing here?
Catherine: Our fax machine's been working overtime. I thought you'd better take a look at this.
Catherine: Hmm. I see you've been doing your homework.
Lucas: On what?
Catherine: On the red swan.
Lucas: Oh, yeah.
Catherine: What I want to know is when you're going to get the red swan from Rachel Cory.
Sam: You are too competitive.
Amanda: Oh. Oh, come on. You were the one that wanted to race in the first place.
Sam: Yeah. I didnít know you'd cheat.
Sam: Yeah, you were pushing me all the way down there.
Amanda: All right, that's it. That's it. Come on, we're going to do it again.
Sam: Oh, no, no, no. You just want to beat me again.
Amanda: No -- ah! You admit it. I beat you.
Sam: Just shut up and kiss me, will you?
Amanda: Do you admit it?
Sam: I admit that having you in this pool next to me is very difficult and very wonderful. And -- what race?
Amanda: I knew it! I knew you wouldnít.
Sam: Knew I wouldnít what?
Amanda: Admit it.
Sam: Can we please just drop it?
Amanda: You know what? I'm starving. Do you want some lunch?
Sam: No. I'd rather do what I'm doing right now.
Amanda: Hilda made some really good egg shrimp salad.
Amanda: I have to go work later.
Sam: I thought you were going to take the day off.
Amanda: Well, yeah, I did, but, you know, I've got a whole day.
Sam: So, what, you got to back to Cory now?
Amanda: No. Evanís coming here.
Amanda: Look, Sam, please donít worry, ok?
Sam: All right. At least you donít have to go back to Cory complex.
Amanda: Oh, I wouldnít dare go there. If I saw Iris sashaying into my old office, I just might want to --
Sam: Rip her face off?
Amanda: Yeah, something like that.
Sam: I know that feeling. I canít believe she took your own office.
Amanda: Oh, I do.
Sam: The lady's really messed up.
Amanda: Donít make excuses for her, Sam.
Sam: I wasnít. All I said was --
Amanda: What you're saying is that she has problems, so I should be sympathetic?
Sam: No. Actually, I --
Amanda: It's academic why she ruins people's lives. The fact is that she does.
Sam: You canít work yourself into a tizzy.
Amanda: Please donít tell me to call --
Sam: Amanda, you canít work yourself into a frenzy like this all the time. At some point in time, you've got to let go of this.
Amanda: I will -- when Iris is out of Cory Publishing.
Sam: What happens if she doesn't get out of Cory Publishing?
Amanda: Well, I'll make sure she does.
Sam: You donít know that, though.
Amanda: Sam, I'm not going to give up on this.
Sam: Ok. Can we drop it, please?
Amanda: I'm sorry.
Sam: Prove it.
Amanda: Look, all I wanted was to have a nice day together, you know, so that I could prove to you how much I love you and show you that you donít have anything to worry about. And I'm sorry. Here I am, going on and on about Iris.
Sam: Shh. I donít want to hear her name anymore today, ok?
Amanda: You do know how much I love you, donít you?
Sam: Yeah, and I love you, too.
Amanda: I am so lucky. It's a beautiful day, I have a wonderful husband --
Amanda: And a beautiful daughter, and there is nobody that can take that away.
Rachel: Of course we understand the terms of your visitation rights.
Vicky: I can take Steven wherever I want.
Rachel: I know that.
Vicky: Without your permission and without supervision.
Jamie: That's what the court said, yes.
Rachel: I was just thinking what a lovely day it is down at the pool.
Jamie: And Steven loves it down there.
Rachel: So, if you wanted to stay and play with him at the pool, that would be fine with us.
Jamie: And not waste time driving around.
Vicky: Oh. You saw the suitcases in my car. That's why you were so panicked when you walked in.
Jamie: I wasn't panicked.
Vicky: Well, I'm returning the suitcases to my mother. Did you really think I would be stupid enough to try and kidnap Steven?
Jamie: You were once before.
Vicky: I wouldnít do anything to jeopardize my case in court.
Rachel: Wouldnít be a good idea, would it? I certainly believe her.
Vicky: Well, I donít care whether you do or not, Rachel. But I think we will take you up on your offer. Wonít we?
Jamie: You'll stay?
Vicky: Yes, well, I think that a day at the pool might be exactly what Steven and I need.
Rachel: Well, you'll find bathing things down at the pool house.
Vicky: Well, actually, I have my bathing things on. I was going to take Steven swimming at a -- friendís. Come on, sweetheart. We're going to go to the pool.
Jamie: What friend?
Rachel: It would seem that she wanted to be invited to stay.
Jamie: My thoughts exactly.
Rachel: Have you talked to Stacey about another attorney?
Rachel: Jamie, she's not going to make this easy for you.
Jamie: I know.
Rachel: She's a very shrewd woman. She's going to fight until this is over with.
Jamie: I know.
Rachel: I hope you're prepared.
Lucas: I donít know what you mean.
Catherine: Well, in my opinion, the red swan would complement your present collection very well.
Lucas: Your opinion?
Catherine: Well, I am very well acquainted with what you have in your collection.
Lucas: That's true. It would make a perfect addition.
Catherine: So I assume you're going after it?
Lucas: There's one problem.
Catherine: Which is?
Lucas: The red swan was Mac Coryís last gift to his wife. I donít think Rachel is willing to part with it.
Catherine: Surely if she gets the right offer --
Lucas: Rachel doesn't need money, and she's not happy that I'm working with Iris Wheeler. She may refuse any offer.
Catherine: But, surely, if you really want the red swan, is there reason enough to prevent you from getting it?
Lucas: Huh. Thanks for bringing this over.
Catherine: I get the feeling I'm being dismissed.
Lucas: I'll try and stop by the office later.
Catherine: I haven't had lunch yet.
Lucas: Hey, I'm sure you can pick something up on the way over.
Lucas: Plus, I have to go take a shower.
Lucas: What was that?
Frankie: What's the matter with you?
Josie: You know I want to be with you forever.
Matt: Then stay with me. We can stay in New York for a little while.
Josie: No, I've got to go back to Bay City sometime.
Matt: Ok. We'll go back to Bay City, maybe get an apartment.
Josie: Oh, Matthew, I have so many things I got to deal with first.
Matt: Ok, well, canít you do that with me around?
Josie: I'm -- I'm not so sure.
Matt: Josie, come on. After all the time we lost this summer, after all the time we could have been together --
Josie: Matthew, if I hadn't spent that time away from you, I donít know if we'd be together now.
Matt: I donít understand.
Josie: When I left Bay City, I was sure I did the right thing. I knew that it wouldnít work between us. So I just figured that I needed to make a new start, away from you, everyone, and everything I knew. But then all I'd do is sit in this apartment and think.
Matt: With the cockroaches?
Josie: Mm-hmm, with the cockroaches.
Matt: That was a big one. That was big.
Josie: Would you listen to me? All I would do was think about you.
Josie: Yeah. As a matter of fact, I was sitting right over there thinking about you the first time I heard Lilly Girard.
Matt: Lucky for me.
Josie: Now we're here together, everything seems so perfect.
Matt: Except for one thing, Josie.
Matt: Do we have a future together?
Amanda: Is that an eight or a 15?
Sam: It's a 39.
Amanda: Oh, no. Sam, that's a total sun block.
Sam: Well, yeah. Well, a suntan's not good for you.
Amanda: But it looks so good.
Sam: It's not worth it.
Amanda: I hate it. Nothing -- nothing is good for you anymore. Pretty soon they're going to tell me that sun block isnít good for you.
Sam: Well, let's see. Nope, it's not good for you.
Sam: It's not. Actually, there is one thing that's really good for you.
Sam: You want to know what it is?
Sam: It's being in a cool, shaded room, underneath some covers --
Sam: With me.
Sam: No preservatives, no additives, no artificial sweeteners, and definitely no clothes.
Amanda: Just you?
Sam: Mm-hmm. I'm very good for your health. And, darlin', you's definitely good for what's ailing me.
Amanda: Ooh, I might have a great idea.
Sam: Ooh, what's that?
Amanda: Why donít we get rid of the sun block?
Sam: That's it, pfft. Yeah.
Amanda: Go check on Alli, and then we better have lunch.
Vicky: Excuse us.
Vicky: Jamie invited us to stay the day and play in the pool, didnít he?
Amanda: Why donít we go in now, Sam, ok?
Sam: Actually, I think I'll be in in a minute.
Vicky: Hard to believe she used to be my best friend once.
Sam: So, Steven, you ready for your nap time?
Vicky: Yeah. Just about. I thought I'd bring him outside so we could get some fresh air when he sleeps. There's nothing like a sleeping baby, is there?
Sam: Well, it's too bad you're here for his nap time.
Vicky: Yeah, I couldn't believe it. I gave him his bottle, and he got that look in his eye. Oh, I only get to see him every now and then.
Sam: That's got to be tough.
Vicky: It's tragic --
Vicky: To be able to see him every day and then have to come and visit him as some sort of stranger. It's really tough, Sam. Oh, he just changes so much every day.
Sam: Babies do that.
Vicky: You know, I donít even think that much about the divorce anymore. Jamie doesn't care about me, and that's that. But to think about not being able to see Steven, except for just a pathetic hour or two now and then -- God, I just -- I couldn't give him up.
Sam: I donít think you should have to.
Frankie: What's the matter with you? Oh, I'm sorry --
Frankie: Oh --
Lucas: Where did that come from?
Lucas: That sound.
Catherine: All I hear is the water running. Is that what you mean?
Catherine: Then how about that shower?
Lucas: Oh, yeah.
Catherine: Come on, slowpoke.
Lucas: Catherine, wait one second. Wait one second. I have to get some phone calls done, and you should be covering the office. We'll get back to this later.
Lucas: Ok? Come on. Now, you call me from the office as soon as you get there and give me my messages.
Catherine: Then I'll see you later?
Catherine: Not too much later?
Frankie: Sorry about that, boss.
Cass: Sorry? I'll never cha-cha again, and she's sorry?
Frankie: But it was an accident.
Cass: What are you wearing on your feet, bayonets?
Frankie: Look, we donít have time for that now. Lover boy might be out of the shower any second. Now let's go!
Cass: Well, let me go first, all right? I want to keep those spikes behind me.
Frankie: Just go.
[Knock on door]
Iris: Lucas? Lucas, it's me, Iris.
Iris: Lucas? Lucas, I know you're there. The doorman told me you're home. Lucas?
Lucas: Iris, is that you?
Iris: Yes, of course.
Lucas: I'll be right there.
Frankie: He'll be right here.
Cass: Thank you for keeping me abreast of things.
Frankie: Where should we go?
Cass: Well, Iris is not going to buy me as a one-legged exterminator. No, no, no. Here.
Lucas: Hello, Iris.
Iris: May I come in?
Lucas: Sure. What brings you?
Iris: You sound a little put out.
Lucas: Not at all.
Iris: I'm here on business, of course.
Lucas: Oh, business? Well, I'll go change.
Iris: Oh, well, please donít let me put you out or anything.
Lucas: No bother. I'll be right with you.
Frankie: That was exciting.
Cass: It was too close, and it was painful.
Frankie: Oh, you'll live. Let's go.
Cass: Wait a second.
Frankie: What for?
Cass: This is the good part.
Frankie: Cass --
Lucas: Not a bad view. Not as good as yours, of course.
Iris: No. Lucas, I came here because I'm concerned about the advertising space in "Sophisticate."
Lucas: Iris --
Iris: The ratio of articles --
Lucas: Iris, we've been through this 10 times.
Iris: Lucas, I have to be certain about this.
Lucas: You came here to talk to me, didnít you?
Iris: Yes. I wanted to discuss with --
Lucas: Yes, us.
Iris: Oh, donít flatter yourself.
Lucas: Iris, we said we wouldnít play games with one another.
Iris: Yes, we did, didnít we?
Lucas: Iris --
Iris: All right. All right. I did come here to talk about us.
Cass: I donít believe it. This guy gets almost as much action as I used to get.
Frankie: Oh, shut up. Let's go.
Cass: Consider the implications, Frankie.
Frankie: What implications?
Cass: Iris and Lucas are a little more than just business partners.
Frankie: So what? It has nothing to do with what we were after.
Cass: How do you know?
Frankie: Look, I am not interested in the seduction of Iris. I'm sure it's a rerun, anyway, so let's go.
Iris: Lucas, what is it you feel for me?
Lucas: What I feel? I told you what I feel. You're unlike any other woman I've --
Iris: Oh, to hell with the clichťs.
Lucas: I'm trying to be honest.
Iris: Lucas, I wonít go on like this.
Lucas: Like what?
Iris: You spend the night. I donít hear from you. I try to talk to you about us, and --
Lucas: I have a business to run, Iris.
Iris: You say you're not playing games, and you never stop playing games.
Lucas: That's not how I think of you.
Iris: Really? Well, prove it. Prove to me that you're not playing games. Answer me -- honestly, if you can -- where do I stand in your life, hmm?
Vicky: You're on my side?
Sam: I'm not taking sides, Vicky.
Vicky: Well, you just said that --
Sam: That you shouldnít have to lose your son.
Vicky: So you think Jamie is making a mistake and my son deserves to be with me?
Sam: Vicky --
Sam: Jamie is my brother-in-law and he's my friend. And I also understand how he feels.
Vicky: You think he's being unfair?
Sam: You're putting words in my mouth.
Vicky: Well, that's what you think, isnít it?
Sam: Vicky, I think you're a very good mother. And I also know that Jamie is very angry at what happened. And because of that, he's overlooking that fact.
Vicky: It means a lot to hear you say that.
Sam: I also remember a time when we were pretty good friends.
Vicky: Yeah. I miss being able to come over to your place, ring the doorbell anytime I want.
Sam: Yeah, well, we did a lot of that, too, especially when we needed an emergency babysitter for Alli.
Vicky: Well, I liked babysitting for Alli.
Sam: You were very good with Alli.
Vicky: Things seemed so much simpler there.
Sam: Yeah. A lot simpler.
Vicky: You know, I kind of miss the place?
Sam: So do I.
Vicky: Well, you're going to have to give it up soon, huh?
Sam: Nope. Amanda and I are going to move back in in a couple of months.
Sam: Yeah, really. Why do you sound so surprised?
Vicky: Well, it's just that Amanda lived here and grew up here most of her life. This is how she lived.
Sam: Yeah. So?
Vicky: So, I just donít think she's going to be able to give it up again.
Jamie: I donít want to drop Stacey, no.
Rachel: I'm not saying you should.
Jamie: If it weren't for her, I might be in real trouble.
Rachel: What does that mean?
Jamie: Well, she's put things in perspective for me.
Jamie: And she understands me. And she's a very good attorney.
Rachel: How has she put things in perspective?
Jamie: Well, that in spite of all the things Vicky has done, it's possible a judge might not see it that cut-and-dried.
Rachel: That's what she said?
Jamie: Vicky has been the primary caregiver for Steven since birth.
Rachel: That's not to say that she's fit to caregive now.
Jamie: I know. But there's also the question of my fitness.
Rachel: You're a wonderful father.
Jamie: Who's been married and divorced twice and working on number three.
Rachel: What does that have to do with your ability to parent?
Jamie: Well, we're talking about stability.
Rachel: Jamie, you were married very young.
Jamie: Yeah? What about Cecile? And Vicky? Her attorney is going to paint me as some kind of bluebeard, or worse.
Rachel: Well, then, this is a very good reason to take another attorney.
Jamie: I know.
Amanda: Crisis in the kitchen. I can hear them from outside. Hilda and Helen are at it again.
Rachel: Oh, no.
Amanda: I think they need a ref.
Rachel: They love fighting. They live for fighting.
Amanda: Jamie, I need to talk to you about Vicky.
Jamie: You donít have to wonder why she's down at the pool.
Amanda: No. No, that isnít it. This is about your case.
Amanda: Once I found out that Kenneth Martin was representing Vicky, I did a little investigating.
Jamie: What kind of investigating?
Amanda: I have a source down at the courthouse.
Jamie: A source?
Amanda: Yes, brother dear. I used to be a reporter not that long ago. My source tells me that Kenneth Martin is having a scheduling problem next week.
Jamie: What kind of scheduling problem?
Amanda: His daughter is getting married in Seattle.
Jamie: What does that have to do with me?
Amanda: My source also tells me that Bay City court has an opening on their calendar next week.
Jamie: Are you suggesting that we have the hearing date moved up?
Amanda: All Stacey would have to do is file a petition.
Jamie: And Vicky wouldnít have Kenneth Martin representing her.
Amanda: Exactly. She would have to settle for somebody else, maybe somebody second rate.
Jamie: Not a bad idea.
Amanda: This could be the key to you winning custody of your son. So come on. What are you waiting for? Call Stacey.
Jamie: No, I have to think about this, Amanda.
Amanda: Jamie, you want custody of your son, donít you?
Jamie: Of course I want custody of my son.
Amanda: Well, what is there to think about?
Jamie: Deliberately sabotaging Vicky.
Amanda: Jamie, you think she wouldnít do this to you?
Amanda: You know that she would. She would do anything.
Jamie: It's not that easy, Amanda.
Amanda: You said you were going to fight for him, so fight.
Jamie: Amanda, I want custody because I think I will be better for Steven than Vicky.
Amanda: You would be a great father.
Jamie: I can give him a sense of values. And I can teach him about honestly and trust, the way Mac taught us.
Amanda: Well, that's all the more reason for not risking losing him.
Jamie: Now, donít you see, though? If I stoop to Vickyís level, then how am I any better than she is?
Amanda: You have a conscience, Jamie. That's terrific. But it's going to be awful cold comfort if this woman ends up taking your child away.
Josie: I -- I canít really think about our future right now. I've got so many other things I have to resolve first.
Matt: Let me help.
Josie: You know what? At least I know who my father is now. I mean, I know I'm worth something.
Matt: You always were, Josie.
Josie: Oh, I couldn't stand the thought that I was like my mother.
Matt: I wish I'd known that.
Josie: Well, what difference would that make?
Matt: I wouldnít have pushed so hard. Maybe you wouldnít have run away.
Josie: Oh, Matthew, I didnít run away because of anything you did. I ran away because I didnít feel like I deserved you.
Matt: Yeah, that's crazy.
Josie: I know. I know it's crazy. You made me see that love isnít something that you earn or something that you make yourself worthy of. It's -- it's a gift that we gave each other, no strings attached. You made me see all that.
Matt: Hmm. I like that.
Josie: And as far as where we're going, I'm just -- I'm just not sure.
Josie: And I just want you to know one thing. That night when I ran away, I made it seem like what we did was wrong, and I donít want it to be that way.
Matt: Josie, it wasn't wrong.
Josie: I want to be with you again.
Matt: You do?
Josie: More than anything.
Lucas: You may be right.
Iris: So you were playing games with me?
Lucas: I might be guilty of that.
Iris: Well, thank you for being honest.
Lucas: Yeah, but listen to the rest of it.
Iris: No, it's all right, Lucas, truly. I get the picture. I'm a big girl.
Lucas: No, come on, listen to me, Iris.
Iris: Well, why not?
Lucas: There are reasons.
Iris: I canít wait to hear them.
Lucas: I'm experiencing things with you that I haven't felt in a long time.
Iris: Is that why you play games with me? I mean, if it were true, then you've got a strange way of showing it.
Lucas: Listen, I have always made a rule of not mixing business with my private life. And I'm very excited about our business relationship. We can do great things at Cory.
Iris: Hang on, hang on. You're losing me, I think.
Lucas: Look, donít you see? The games I've been playing have helped me to keep you at arm's length.
Iris: I think we were considerably closer than that.
Lucas: I know I gave in to my feelings. Iris, I want to be with you -- tonight, tomorrow, for a long time to come.
Iris: Do you?
Lucas: Yes. But I am in no position to make any kind of commitment right now.
Iris: Oh, well, neither am I.
Lucas: Iris, I care about you.
Iris: I assume I'll see you at my apartment later on?
Lucas: I'll be there.
Iris: I'm glad we had the little talk. Very glad.
Lucas: You're so welcome.
Cass: I just love the way you blame everything on everybody else, Frankie!
Frankie: I am not blaming everybody else, just you.
Cass: It was your spike that impaled my foot!
Frankie: You were the one who screamed your face off!
Cass: Screamed my face off? I didnít scream my face off! If I had screamed my face off, we would have been caught. We were caught? We were not!
Frankie: Only because I had the presence of mind to clamp my hand over your mouth.
Cass: Ok, miss presence of mind 1989, let us review what we've got. Aside from a gangrenous foot, not much.
Frankie: Not a hell of a lot? What do you mean, not a hell of a lot? I am not going to take you with me on stakeouts unless you are a little bit more --
Cass: You -- take me with you? I bailed out your --
Frankie: Oh, all right, all right!
Cass: You ingrate! You -- take me with you? What have you turned up? Come on.
Cass: What, the notes about the Coryís made perfect sense, considering what he's up to with Iris.
Frankie: Rachelís red swan. There's something.
Cass: Yeah, but his girl Friday/bimbo brought it up!
Frankie: Well, that's because she knew he would be interested.
Cass: He's a collector.
Frankie: This art angle is worth pursuing, Cass! I am telling you, I have a hunch about this guy.
Cass: We shouldnít have left. We should have stayed and listened to the end of the conversation with Iris.
Frankie: Oh, but, believe me, they were not talking about art. Wait a minute. That's it.
Cass: What is? What?
Frankie: I know how we can find out everything we need to know about Lucas.
Singer: I want to fall into you and I want to be everything you want me to but I'm not sure I know how I lose faith and I lose ground when I see you and remember our
Singers: Unconditional love love, love unconditional love
Singer: I want to lie next to you and I want to do everything you want me to sometimes I reach out the sky I imagine that the clouds are black when I see you
Singers: I remember unconditional love love, love unconditional love
Singer: When I see you
Singers I surrender unconditional love yeah unconditional love love
Cass: Explain yourself.
Cass: No. Now.
Frankie: It's perfect.
Cass: Come on, Frankie --
Frankie: One of the things we did find out about Lucas is that he likes the ladies.
Cass: This is true.
Frankie: He has a whole lot of interest in a whole lot of good-looking, classy women.
Cass: You canít hang a man for that, Frankie.
Frankie: Aha. Maybe we can.
Cass: What are you thinking?
Frankie: I'm going back to Lucas'.
Frankie: I am going to give him an updated report on the search for his missing daughter.
Cass: What's in the report?
Cass: Then why are you doing it?
Frankie: Well, you may not have noticed this, boss, but I do not resemble the sister of Quasimodo.
Cass: Yeah, I know that.
Frankie: Ok, so you remember that skirt that I wore to Tops last time, the really short -- you wouldnít remember it.
Cass: Yes, I would -- and I just so happens do. And as a matter of fact, I donít think you should wear that skirt in public ever again.
Frankie: And what are you, my father?
Cass: Look, Frankie, this is going to be trouble. It wonít work, and it could turn out to be a disaster.
Cass: How can I break this to you gently? Lucas likes sophisticated women, Frankie.
Frankie: Well, short skirts are in, Cass. They're chic.
Cass: It's not the length of your skirt. It's you.
Frankie: Ok, I admit I may not be princess Caroline of Monaco --
Cass: You're not his type.
Frankie: Well, I can make myself his type. You've heard that expression that at night all cats are gray?
Cass: Is that like if you put a paper bag over their heads they're all the same?
Frankie: Look, that's disgusting, and this is going to work, Cass.
Cass: No, it's going to be nothing but trouble. Stick to the art angle.
Frankie: You stick to the art angle. I'm going after Lucas.
Cass: You'll never pull this off, Frankie.
Frankie: Oh, I will pull it off. You just ask Lucas.
Vicky: So, Alli and Steven are really getting to know each other, huh?
Sam: Yeah. Alli was a little jealous at first.
Vicky: I donít blame her.
Sam: Yeah, but she's finally starting to warm up to him, especially when he smiles.
Vicky: He does have a great smile, doesn't he?
[Door opens and closes]
Sam: Hey, Jamie. We were just admiring your son.
Jamie: Sam, I need to speak to Vicky alone.
Sam: Right. Ugh. I guess I'll go find out what Amandaís doing. Excuse me.
Jamie: Your time is up.
Vicky: Come on, Jamie. Stevenís been asleep the whole time. And besides, we were just getting ready to take a swim.
Jamie: Get dressed.
Vicky: I know that look, Jamie.
Jamie: I said get dressed.
Vicky: Hmm. You want me, donít you?
Jamie: You're making a fool out of yourself.
Vicky: Oh? Who am I making a fool out of, Jamie? Huh?
Jamie: This wonít work.
Vicky: Oh, I think it will. You see, you're going to have to come to grips with something. You can look, but you canít touch. Not ever again. You see, you lost that chance.
Jamie: Get dressed and get out of here.
Vicky: You lost me, Jamie. And you're going to lose Steven.
Vicky: Oh, donít you get it? You already have.
Josie: You know what? I feel so safe in your arms. I feel like I could handle anything.
Matt: I'll always be there for you. You believe that, donít you?
Josie: Yeah. Yeah, I do. And that's why I made a decision. I'm going to go home with you.
Jamie: What in the hell are you talking about?
Vicky: These. You see, while you were out playing with your lawyer girlfriend, I hired an expert in the child custody field.
Jamie: This means nothing.
Vicky: These prove Kenneth Martin's track record. He hasn't lost a case in four years, Jamie. Happy reading.
Jamie: Yes, this is Jamie Frame. Stacey, please. Hello, Stacey. It's Jamie. Listen to me. I want you to petition the court to move up the trial date. Do it immediately.
Frankie: What are you doing?
Cass: Bug man is blocking your way.
Frankie: You donít want me to go?
Cass: You're a woman of acute intelligence, Frankie.
Frankie: I'll call.
Frankie: Ok, I wonít call.
Cass: You're not going back to Lucas'.
Frankie: Hey, you want to nail this guy, right?
Cass: There's got to be another way.
Frankie: Well, by the time you think of it, he'll have covered his butt.
Cass: Not necessarily. Now, come on. Let's just take a time-out here. Just step back here into my office, and let's think this thing over.
Frankie: "Think"? I thought you were a man of action.
Cass: This could be dangerous.
Frankie: Why? I figure Lucas to be all bark and --
Cass: He's unpredictable.
Frankie: He's a man, isnít he? I learned how to predict them a long time ago.
Cass: Oh, really?
Frankie: And control them.
Cass: Oh, do tell.
Frankie: Step aside, please.
Cass: No, no, no. Since you know so much about men, what about me? Come on.
Frankie: You want to know what I think about you?
Cass: In 50 words or less.
Cass: Oh, thanks a lot.
Frankie: You're terrific.
Cass: Oh. Well, I'd say that that's a pretty accurate assessment.
Frankie: Well, I'm not finished.
Cass: Why donít you quit while I'm ahead?
Frankie: You're honest.
Cass: I have my moments.
Cass: I can name all the capitals of Europe.
Cass: What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Frankie: Tame. Set in your ways.
Cass: I've had a couple of adventures -- more than a couple -- and I'm talking life or death here.
Frankie: You're talking past tense.
Cass: Past tense? Have you forgotten my willingness to go on an impromptu vacation to St. Martin?
Cass: Yeah, I went, didnít I? That demonstrates willingness. Have you forgotten bug man, who this very morning saved you from the clutches of the evil Lucas? I mean, you really think I'm a stick-in-the-mud living in the past? Is that how you really see me?
Frankie: Time's a-wasting, boss. I got to get on the case.
Cass: Aren't we breezy.
Rachel: What are you doing here? What do you want?
Lucas: I've come for the red swan.
