Cass: Hey, you're here first.
Felicia: Yeah, I guess.
Cass: You want some coffee?
Felicia: No, no, that's the last thing I need.
Cass: How are you feeling this morning?
Felicia: What, do you mean am I Felicia or Fanny?
Cass: I know who you are.
Felicia: Yeah, I hope I do. Just donít break any glass, ok? I'd just rather not dip into 16 if I can help it.
Cass: Honey, you've been under such a tremendous amount of stress. That's why it happened.
Felicia: Well, it's still all very foggy, and Mitch really doesn't want to talk about it.
Cass: Well, there's not much to tell. He and I were arguing, you were half asleep, we broke the mirror, and that set you off.
Felicia: Yeah, and I just sort of became Fanny?
Felicia: Honey, I have no control over this. What happens if I canít handle this trial? What happens if I become Fanny again?
Cass: You were exhausted and half asleep. You're going to be fine.
Felicia: I donít know. It's been tough, all of it, for a long time now.
Cass: Hey, you trust me, donít you? Huh?
Felicia: It's just myself I'm not real sure about.
Stacey: Felicia, Cass. Excuse me.
Cass: What are you doing, are you limping?
Stacey: Yeah, donít worry. This was worth a sprained ankle.
Cass: What is it?
Stacey: Voila. With any luck, that's our strongman.
Sam: Donít move.
Sam: I'm going to take the phone off the hook.
Sam: Well, we wouldnít want the phone to ring and it to wake Alli up, would we?
Amanda: Oh, we wouldnít?
Sam: Uh-uh, no, because we're going to be very, very busy.
Amanda: Sam, what if it's somebody -- what if it's important, huh?
Sam: Amanda, the phone hasn't even rung yet.
Amanda: Well, you wanted to take the phone off the hook last night.
Amanda: If you would have, we wouldnít have gotten Vicky and Jamieís good news.
Sam: All right, so you're right.
Amanda: They sounded so happy.
Sam: Yeah, almost as happy as we were when Alli was born.
Amanda: Do you remember counting all her little fingers and toes?
Sam: Yeah. I was so proud of you.
Amanda: Because I could count to 10?
Sam: No, wise guy, because you were so brave and beautiful --
Sam: And sexy.
Amanda: Hmm. I hope -- I hope Jamie and Vicky are always as happy as they are.
Sam: Yeah, well, they have been through a lot.
Amanda: But now they're a family. Nothing can change that.
Vicky: Hi. Oh, Jamie.
Jamie: Oh, honey.
Vicky: Have you seen little Steven yet?
Jamie: The pediatrician's looking him over right now.
Jamie: We have such a beautiful boy.
Vicky: And a lucky one, too.
Jamie: I'll say.
Vicky: Because he has you as a dad, I mean.
Jamie: Oh, no, I was thinking it was because he has such a courageous and beautiful mom.
Vicky: You know, Jake -- Jake helped me deliver the baby, but you got me through it. I love you so much, Jamie.
Jamie: I love you, too.
Vicky: You know, I woke up this morning and I thought, "I have a baby!"
Jamie: I know, me, too.
Vicky: I have a son. Are you scared?
Jamie: Scared? No, I'm excited. Are you scared?
Vicky: No. No. I was -- I was scared when I thought I was going to raise it alone, but I can hardly remember those days.
Jamie: Good, forget about those days. Just think of our future.
Vicky: That sounds good to me. They're here!
Ronnie: Knock, knock. There's a young man here to see you.
Vicky: Oh, Steven!
Ronnie: He's so precious.
Vicky: Good morning!
Ronnie: Go to daddy. Yes.
Jamie: Hello, son. So tell me, how do you like being on earth so far, huh?
Ronnie: He says there's not enough to eat.
Vicky: Thanks, Ronnie.
Jamie: Hi, honey.
Vicky: Hello, baby. We're so lucky.
Jamie: I'll say.
Vicky: We're all so lucky.
Donna: Bridget, I am not prejudiced. Steven is absolutely the most beautiful baby in the nursery.
Bridget: Well, now, Victoria was a beautiful baby, too. You know, it doesn't seem like so long ago that I was holding her in my arms, and now she's a
Donna: Well, I'm just relieved she's all right.
Bridget: You know, isnít it -- I mean, just think about it -- I mean, her having the baby in the apartment?
Donna: Yes, with only Jake McKinnon to help her.
Bridget: Yes, I know.
Donna: Well, fate seems to be throwing those two together. At least I think it's fate. Bridget, would you go ahead and go into Victoria's room?
Bridget: Miss Donna --
Donna: Please, I'll join you in a minute.
Donna: Hello, Jake.
Donna: I'd like to talk to you about Victoria's baby.
Jake: I donít want to get into anything with you, Donna, not today, all right?
Donna: I just want to tell you how grateful I am. Victoria came through this beautifully and so did the baby. We owe that to you.
Jake: Nobody owes me. I'd do anything for Vicky. You know that.
Donna: And I would do anything for either one of my daughters.
Jake: So what is this now, a contest?
Donna: No. I just want both Victoria and Marley to be happy.
Jake: So do I.
Donna: I donít want them to be hurt, by anyone.
Jake: Get to the point, Donna.
Donna: I think you should spend more time with Marley, especially now. She needs you.
Jake: I do spend time with Marley. She's my wife! I donít need you to tell me that.
Donna: Well, I'm worried about her, Jake. How is she going to react now that the baby's been born?
Iris: You're the last person I expected to see here. Is that for the baby?
Evan: Oh, no, Iris, this is for you. I know that you have a weakness for little blue bootees.
Iris: Donít get cute with me.
Evan: I'm here to offer my congratulations just like you are.
Iris: Yes, but I'm family. You work for the family. You should remember that.
Evan: I'm here to stay in good graces with the Cory family. I mean, that's the plan, isnít it? So I'm here to pay homage to the great Cory grandchild. In this
package is frankincense and myrrh.
Iris: Yeah, well, please donít overdo it. Look, I'm very worried about something.
Iris: Cass Winthrop came to see me.
Iris: Well, he wanted to know about the bonus I gave Jason.
Evan: What'd you tell him?
Iris: I just made something up.
Evan: Well, you'd better keep your story straight.
Iris: Look, Cass has this ridiculous theory that somebody else other than Felicia actually killed Jason.
Iris: Donít be stupid. Of course not.
Evan: You know, he left a message on my machine last night.
Iris: What did he want?
Evan: I donít know. Maybe he just wants to see if I can back up your story.
Iris: Well, of course you will, right?
Evan: Well, as you've pointed out, Iris, I do work for you.
Iris: Look, darling, we canít -- we canít talk here.
Evan: Ok, listen, I know a quiet little corner in the cafeteria, ok?
Iris: Let's go.
Felicia: This does look like the man at the church.
Cass: The strongman at the party?
Felicia: Well, I donít know. I mean, he had a mask on, so I'm not really sure.
Zack: You think it's enough?
Felicia: Stacey, you found him?
Stacey: Actually, he found me.
Felicia: Honey, this is wonderful.
Stacey: It might not be. He disappeared. I donít have his number. I donít know how to get in touch with him.
Felicia: Well, we have to find him. I mean, he saw what happened. He's the only one that can prove to the police that I'm telling the truth.
Zack: It's too bad we couldn't get more on him.
Stacey: Yeah, but he might try to contact me again. He trusted me, at least he seemed to, but then he just bolted. I canít figure it out.
Zack: You did see the scar?
Stacey: Oh, definitely.
Cass: I just wish you'd let me handle this.
Zack: Cass, you canít do everything.
Stacey: And besides, Cass, he contacted me. Who knows, he might not have even talked to you.
Zack: And at least she got results. Now we know the guy's in town.
Stacey: No, well, we donít know that, either. The last time I heard from him was last night.
Felicia: You saw him last night?
Stacey: Very late.
Felicia: You know, he called me yesterday.
Stacey: Are you sure it was him?
Cass: And what did he say?
Felicia: That he was leaving town.
Cass: Oh, great.
Felicia: Honey, I'm sorry. You know, I really should've told you that.
Cass: Donít worry about it, Felicia.
Felicia: In all the confusion --
Cass: That's all right. Listen, we're going to find this guy.
Felicia: And what happens if we donít? And if we do find him -- let's say we do -- I mean, what if he wonít testify? Then what?
Cass: Let's just concentrate on what we've got, ok?
Cass: Tell me again what Jason said when he gave you the gun.
Felicia: Oh, God, that seems like 100 years ago.
Cass: Come on.
Felicia: Uh -- he said something like no one could protect me. I would have to protect myself.
Stacey: You know, this guy keeps talking about a gun, too.
Cass: But why? The cops have the gun that shot Jason. Donít they?
Sam: So this guy Dustin, he's got the lowdown on video match?
Amanda: Yeah, he said that the special people get special services.
Sam: Tim said that, too.
Amanda: Mm-hmm. And sure enough, Auntie Rose confirmed it.
Sam: She admitted that?
Amanda: I kind of forced her to.
Amanda: Dustin told me to go in and ask for a guy by the name of Doug Mckewon, so I did. Rose panicked. She wouldnít even show me his tape.
Sam: So this guy Doug was off-limits?
Amanda: Definitely. Rose starts telling me that he's so wrong for me, giving me all these reasons, right? So I beg and I plead, and she finally gives in, sort
Sam: "Sort of"?
Amanda: Sort of. She says that there's a chance if Doug chooses me, and she goes on to tell me that he's part of this V.I.P. Club and that people in the
V.I.P. Club get special privileges.
Sam: What kind of special privileges?
Amanda: Well, I'm not sure yet, but I think I have a pretty good idea. I think video match is the front for an escort service.
Sam: Lisa used video match.
Amanda: But, see, nice people like Lisa create a good cover. I knew something was up the minute Tim said something about a special fee.
Sam: Why is Dustin helping you out so much?
Amanda: I donít know.
Sam: Then find out, and I'm going to reassign myself to bodyguard duty.
Amanda: Sam, I canít crack the story with you following me around.
Sam: Fine, I donít want you masquerading as an escort, Amanda.
[Knock on door]
Sam: Donít give me that innocent look.
Amanda: You'd better get the door before it wakes up Alli.
Sam: I mean it, Amanda. Caroline.
Caroline: You just made one big mistake.
Sam: I did?
Caroline: Yes, one that could cost you your whole career.
Vicky: You're sure nothing's wrong with him? He was out in the cold when we brought him here.
Jamie: Honey, we had him all wrapped up. He's just fine.
Vicky: Oh, if anything happened to this little guy --
Ronnie: Oh, donít worry, that little man is doing great.
Bridget: Oh, the dear sweet, wee little laddy.
Ada: You got to admit, Ronnie, he's the best-looking little guy in that whole nursery.
Ronnie: Well, donít tell anyone I said so, but, yes, he is, and the feistiest, too.
Jamie: Oh, then he takes after his mother.
Ronnie: Now that we've got that settled, I'm going to go make my rounds.
Vicky: Ok, thanks, Ronnie.
Ada: See you.
Vicky: Hey, where's my mom? She was supposed to come with you, wasn't she?
Bridget: Oh, she's here, dear, but there was something that she wanted to do, you know.
Vicky: Oh, because I know she would die if she missed out her morning cuddle with the baby. Hello.
Ada: Well, there are those of us standing around waiting for the same opportunity, and not too patiently.
Vicky: Ok, well, this is Ada. She's daddy's grandma. And that's Bridget, and she was my mommy, and I know if I screw up, they'll both tell me about it.
Bridget: I donít know about that. We'll try not to be too hard.
Ada: Well, not unless she keeps him to herself for the rest of his life.
Vicky: Oh. Ok. Here you go, honey. There you go, Ada.
Ada: I thought you'd never ask. Oh, look at you. How do you do? Steven Frame II. Welcome to your life. Steven Frame I would be very proud.
Bridget: Hey. Oh, look at those blue eyes.
Bridget: They're just like Victoria's, you know? Oh, there, there.
Vicky: I donít know. I think he looks just like his daddy.
Jake: Marley is very happy for Jamie and Vicky. We both are, Donna.
Donna: Then why isnít she here with you?
Jake: She'll be here in a bit.
Donna: Marley holds things inside. It's got to be painful for her to watch her sister having a baby when she canít have one.
Jake: Nobody said she canít. As a matter of fact, Dr. Janssen's saying she has a very good chance.
Donna: Well, it hasn't happened yet.
Jake: Look, Donna, donít go putting pressure on anyone. You're not going to do anybody any good.
Donna: I'm sorry. I know you two are doing the best that you can. Did the support group help?
Jake: You know about that?
Donna: Yes. Marley told me that you had had a meeting with some couples that were in a similar situation. How did it go?
Jake: Well, I wasn't there for very much of it, Donna.
Donna: Why not?
Jake: It was last night.
Donna: Oh, and you were with Victoria.
Jake: Well, I'm sure you would've rather had me at the meeting, right?
Donna: No, of course not. But certainly Marley was disappointed that you weren't there with her.
Jake: Donít worry about it. I'll make it up to her.
Donna: I hope so. This isnít the first time you've let her down.
Jake: You donít give up, do you?
Donna: I know, Jake.
Jake: You know what?
Donna: I know that you slept with Victoria.
Jake: Donít be stupid!
Donna: Donít deny it. Victoria already admitted it.
Felicia: No, I'm sure it was the gun. It's the one that I identified for the police. It's the one that Jason shoved into my purse.
Zack: He did that?
Felicia: Yes. I donít know, just I was afraid to handle it.
Zack: How was Jason acting?
Felicia: Nervous, wired. In fact, he said he was going to carry a gun, too.
Cass: He did?
Cass: Did you see him with it?
Felicia: No, but I'm sure he meant it.
Cass: I knew it! I knew there was another gun!
Zack: Cass --
Zack: The ballistics report?
Felicia: Honey, the bullet that shot Jason was the one from my gun. I mean, it's the one he gave me! I even had the powder burns on my glove.
Cass: I donít care. Something doesn't add up here. I can feel it in my gut.
Zack: A jury is going to need more than just gut feelings, Cass.
Cass: I know that, Zack.
Felicia: Honey, I shot Jason!
Cass: The only thing you know for sure is that you fired the gun and then you fainted. It was pandemonium. Music was playing, people were everywhere,
balloons were popping like crazy. All of that could've masked the sound of gunfire and other sounds.
Stacey: Like what?
Cass: Like the argument Felicia heard when she went into the hall of mirrors.
Zack: Do you think it was Jason and the killer?
Cass: Jason had plenty of enemies. I just canít figure out why the cops canít come up with any other suspects.
Zack: Well, from what I hear, they're trying, but they need something more concrete.
Cass: Well, we're just going to have to find it for them.
Cass: You just trust me on that.
Felicia: I do trust you, with my life.
Cass: I've got you right where I want you. Listen, I'm going to get out of here for a little while, everybody.
Stacey: Cass, I think I'll walk with you. I have to follow up on something.
Cass: All right.
Zack: Look, I'm going to work on that subpoena on the Tiptop circus. They're still pushing us off.
Felicia: Is that the company that put up the tent?
Zack: Right, we're trying to search their equipment, look for something that would support Cass' theory.
Felicia: Can I help?
Zack: How's your dialing finger?
Felicia: It's about the only thing that's still working.
Cass: We'll see you later. Maybe we'll have something.
Cass: Come on, gimpy.
Felicia: Good luck. Thanks.
Jake: So what are you going to do, tell Marley to get back at me?
Donna: I donít know. I donít know what I'm going to do.
Jake: Yeah, well, I would think before I opened my mouth if I was you. Marley loves me. This would break her heart if she ever heard about this.
Donna: I donít want to be the one to tell her about your affair.
Jake: It wasn't -- it wasn't an affair. Nobody has to tell her anything. Donna, they're sisters.
Donna: You should've thought of that before you did it.
Jake: Yeah, well, I know this is not going to sound like a good excuse to you, but what happened between Vicky and myself was a one-time thing. Donna,
I thought I'd lost Marley. Vicky was sure it was over between her and Jamie.
Donna: I still donít see that as a reason for you to have slept with her.
Jake: Damn it, we were desperate, Donna. You of all people should understand that.
Donna: What if I donít tell her? What if somebody else tells her? She's going to hate all of us for lying to her.
Jake: She doesn't have to find out.
Donna: Secrets donít always stay hidden, Jake.
Jake: Yeah, well, this one has to. There are five people involved, Donna. I know you donít give a damn about me, but Vicky is happier than she has ever
been in her entire life and so is Marley.
Donna: I know that.
Jake: Yeah? What about Marley and Jamie and their little baby? They're all innocent.
Donna: I want their marriage to work.
Jake: So do I. For once, we are on the same side, whether you like it or not.
Marley: Well, hello.
Donna: Hi, darling.
Marley: Hi. So, Donna, what do you think?
Donna: The baby is adorable.
Marley: Oh, no, no, I mean about Jake delivering Vickyís baby? He's quite a hero now, isnít he?
Caroline: I knew I should never have let you handle it.
Sam: What did I do?
Caroline: You just sent in the wrong slides to the Carroll Art show.
Amanda: Wait, the one in New York?
Caroline: The one in New York. Sam, I donít understand this. We discussed this in detail.
Sam: Wait a second, what's the problem here?
Caroline: You were disqualified.
Caroline: You're out. They returned them.
Caroline: You sent in the rejects.
Sam: I did?
Sam: Oh, I must've got them mixed up.
Sam: How could I do that?
Caroline: I have no idea.
Sam: Oh, man. Oh! And everything was just starting to take off. I canít believe this.
Caroline: Sam, you've really got to pay more attention than just to the painting. It's the difference between being a success or an unknown.
Sam: I know that. You're right, ok? Damn it.
Caroline: Have you happened to sign your contract for the young artist books, hmm?
Sam: Uh -- no.
Caroline: Well, it has been waiting for you at Winthrop and Edwards. Sam, I thought you wanted to make some lasting mark on the art world.
Sam: I'll get right over and sign it, ok? I canít believe this.
Caroline: Forget it. It's over. Anyway, I've got to be at the gallery in half an hour. We've got an important buyer coming. Do you think you could get ready?
Amanda: Of course he can.
Sam: I'll be right out.
Caroline: You probably think I'm a real witch.
Amanda: No. I --
Caroline: But you see, I happen to believe in him. That's if nothing stands in his way.
Iris: So we're in agreement, you'll back me up?
Evan: Yes, I'll tell Cass that the money you gave Jason was like an extra gratuity for the spa.
Evan: Look, I've already covered this with you. I also told the cops your very touching tale about how you're trying to mend fences between the Coryís and
Iris: But this is different.
Evan: No, it's more of the same, and it's getting me in deeper.
Iris: But Cass is trying to point suspicion away from Felicia. Surely you donít want that.
Evan: No, but do you know what the question is, is do I want to lie again?
Iris: I donít think you have any choice. We're in this together, whether you like it or not.
Evan: Iris, I owe you a lot, and I know that, but would you tell me when this is going to stop?
Iris: If we're careful, it'll stop without any suspicion directed at us. And then we can get back to being useful to each other.
Jamie: Oh, look who's here. Hello.
Jamie: Thank you. Thank you very much.
Iris: I'm so thrilled!
Jamie: Thank you.
Iris: It's wonderful.
Jamie: Hey, have a cigar.
Evan: Thank you very much.
Jamie: How about you, you want a cigar?
Evan: By the way, Jake, Jake -- excuse me -- Jake, I hear that you can teach the paramedics a few things.
Jamie: He was great.
Jake: It was nothing.
Evan: Aw, come on, you're the man of the hour.
Iris: Well, if you'll excuse us --
Jake: Let's go find a place to light these puppies up, huh?
Jamie: To the lounge, my friend.
Evan: I think that's a great idea.
Jamie: Join us. Come on.
Iris: We haven't finished.
Evan: I'll see you later. Jamie?
Evan: What's it like being a father?
Jamie: I'm just finding out.
Iris: Cass, what are you doing here?
Cass: Iris. I'm here to visit Vicky, and I'm also looking for Evan.
Cass: Yes, his office said he was here, and I have some questions for him about the case.
Iris: I assume you're still pursuing that ridiculous theory that someone else killed Jason.
Cass: As a matter of fact, I am. That's why I want to talk to Evan.
Iris: What can Evan tell you?
Cass: Well, you never know. Maybe something that could help clear Felicia.
Iris: Is that all you care about?
Cass: Is there anything else?
Iris: Well, Felicia said she shot Jason, that it was an accident. That's all you have to prove.
Cass: Thank you, Felix Frankfurter.
Iris: Canít you do that?
Cass: I donít have to anymore.
Iris: Why, have you found out something else?
Cass: Well, there is -- oh, it's a legal thing. It probably wouldnít interest you.
Iris: Yes, of course it interests me. I'm very concerned about Felicia.
Iris: Mm-hmm. And, also, I'm going to be looking for an attorney to handle my late husband's estate. The retainer would be quite large.
Cass: Would it?
Iris: Hmm, in fact, very large. Now, as you were saying?
Cass: I wasnít. Actually, I am a bit pressed for time. You can call me at my office, though, about the estate.
Iris: Yes, I will, perhaps after you've talked to Evan. He's in the smoking lounge.
Cass: Thank you. It's always interesting seeing you, Iris.
Ada: Hello, Iris.
Iris: Hi, Ada. I'm here to offer my congratulations. How's Vicky?
Ada: Enjoying motherhood.
Iris: Oh, yeah. Well, you know, I suppose Rachelís very happy.
Ada: Well, Mac and Rachel are both delirious.
Iris: Imagine, Rachel being a grandmother again.
Ada: And very proud of it.
Iris: Yeah, I suppose so.
Ada: Are you worried about something?
Iris: No, I'm fine. Why?
Ada: I donít know. You just haven't seemed yourself since Jason Frame died. See ya.
Felicia: You know, I think I'll get out for a little while, you know, just sort of clear my head.
Zack: Look, do you want me to go with you?
Zack: I mean, there May be reporters out there. They've been seen hanging around.
Felicia: It's all right.
Ronnie: Hey. I thought I'd take my break over here.
Zack: Well, that's the kind of thinking I like.
Felicia: Hi, Ronnie.
Ronnie: How's it going, Felicia?
Felicia: Well, these guys are certainly doing everything they can. I'll be back later.
Zack: You'll be ok?
Felicia: Yes, I'll be fine. How's the coast, is it clear?
Ronnie: Yeah, no press in sight.
Felicia: Good. Stop worrying about me.
Ronnie: How does her case look?
Zack: I've seen Swiss cheese with less holes.
Ronnie: Is that why you're working all the time?
Zack: Look, I'm sorry I haven't called. I miss you.
Ronnie: I miss you, too.
Zack: Look, I'm not used to having two things in my life, you know.
Ronnie: I know, neither am I.
Zack: So, how have you been? God, this is so stupid.
Ronnie: No, it isnít. I understand.
Zack: You know, my sister wants to move in with Rick.
Ronnie: She does?
Zack: Well, she claims that they're both so busy and they never get a chance to see each other.
Ronnie: Well, I guess that's one way of solving the problem.
Zack: Well, I donít want to lecture her. I mean, it sounds so square, you know.
Zack: Well, I worry. I mean, living together -- it's too easy, you know?
Ronnie: Yeah, well, I think you miss a lot of romance.
Zack: You do?
Ronnie: I do.
Zack: Well, maybe I'm a traditionalist.
Ronnie: Well, I like the old-fashioned way of doing things, even if you miss somebody a lot.
Zack: A lot?
Ronnie: Of course, I wouldnít want to move in with that somebody unless I'm married.
Zack: Oh, me, neither. You know, I really have missed you.
Zack: Perfect timing. Excuse me. Zack Edwards. Oh, yes. Yes, I did request an inspection of the big top equipment. What's holding that up? I see. When
did this happen? Well, it doesn't matter if Tiptop's assets have been sold. I still want to go through with this. State lines? Well, why wasn't I told about this
sooner? Look, if that equipment is sold separately, it's going to make it very difficult for us to track it down. Right.
Ronnie: What happened?
Zack: Tiptop folded. Looks like we've hit a dead end.
Amanda: Caroline, I'm afraid this is all my fault.
Caroline: Well, I donít see why. He managed to blow this show all on his own.
Amanda: He's been helping me with this story. He's worried about me. That's the reason that he wasn't thinking about the slides.
Caroline: Look, I know he would do anything for you and Alli, and I admire that, but it just doesn't help a career.
Amanda: He's totally committed to his work.
Caroline: Yes, and to the family, and it's very hard to be totally committed to two things at once.
Amanda: Caroline, you've really helped him, and I know that he appreciates that.
Caroline: It's my job to make sure he keeps focused on his career.
Amanda: From now on, you're not going to have to do it alone. I'm going to make sure that Sam puts his career first.
Caroline: You are?
Amanda: I believe in Sam.
Caroline: Well, he's lucky.
Amanda: I just canít wait till this story is finished. Then I'll be able to help him as much as he's been helping me.
Caroline: You guys are certainly devoted to one another.
Sam: What are you guys talking about? My ears are burning.
Amanda: No, everything was flattering.
Caroline: Yeah, except that you might make us jolly late if we donít hurry up.
Sam: Look, I'm ready, ok?
Caroline: Well, let's go then.
Amanda: I'll see you later, ok? I'm going to take Alli over to moms.
Amanda: Good luck with the buyer.
Auntie Rose: Video match.
Amanda: Auntie Rose?
Auntie Rose: Yes?
Amanda: Hi. This is Amanda Cory. I was wondering, has Doug Mckewon seen my tape yet?
Auntie Rose: Well --
Amanda: Oh, he hasn't, has he?
Auntie Rose: Amanda --
Amanda: Auntie Rose, I want to talk to you.
Auntie Rose: Now?
Amanda: I'll be over as soon as I can.
Auntie Rose: Oh. Amanda. I'm afraid I have some bad news for you.
Amanda: About Doug?
Auntie Rose: Yes, I showed him your tape just like I promised I'd do. He's not interested.
Amanda: I donít understand.
Auntie Rose: Well, he has decided to take himself off the singles market, at least for a little while.
Amanda: Well, he didnít say anything about that.
Auntie Rose: What? You met him?
Amanda: Well, I ran into him at a bar.
Auntie Rose: You did?
Amanda: Auntie Rose, I know the truth.
Auntie Rose: Oh, well, all of our clients donít always check out.
Amanda: He used "the stockbroker" as his stage name, and he was doing a strip act.
Auntie Rose: He was?
Amanda: Right down to his portfolio.
Auntie Rose: Oh, how awful.
Amanda: I didnít think so.
Auntie Rose: You didnít?
Amanda: Am I supposed to be shocked? I mean, I saw a lot worse than that when I was in Paris and Bangkok.
Auntie Rose: You did?
Amanda: Oh, sure, I did. My parents sent me to school in Europe. I've done a lot of traveling, partied with a lot of people that were a lot more relaxed
about that sort of thing.
Auntie Rose: Oh, really?
Amanda: Now I'm shocking you.
Auntie Rose: Oh, no, no, it's just that I'm surprised, that's all.
Amanda: I talked to Doug about his arrangement with you, and he told me a little bit more about the V.I.P. Club. I'd like to join.
Auntie Rose: You would?
Amanda: Provided the money is as good as he says it is.
Auntie Rose: You seemed so timid when I first met you.
Amanda: Well, you know, I hate to say too much at first, and, well, besides, I didnít need the money then.
Auntie Rose: But you do now?
Auntie Rose: I thought your family had money.
Amanda: Well, they cut me off. Daddy got tired of paying my bills. He said that I was a shop-aholic. He cut up all my credit cards.
Auntie Rose: That's terrible.
Amanda: Told me I had to live on my allowance. Otherwise, I wouldnít get my trust funds. I've already gone through all of my money for this year.
Auntie Rose: Did you tell him that?
Amanda: I canít. I owe thousands. Doug said that you could help me.
Auntie Rose: I donít know.
Amanda: Please, Auntie Rose, I need the money. I'll do anything for you. Anything.
Vicky: Oh, Iris, these are all so perfect. You know, there was a time I never dreamed my child could have anything this beautiful.
Iris: Your baby will have everything, I'm sure. Oh, I've had the whole dozen of them, they're all engraved with his initials.
Vicky: Steven Michael Frame. Oh, we'll just treasure them always. Thank you very much.
Iris: You know, I hope I'm going to be seeing more of you now. Daddy adores babies. So do I, of course.
Vicky: Well, I'm sure I will be seeing more of you. Jamie practically lives in the hospital, so I'll be here, and you're on the board, right?
Iris: Mm-hmm. Vicky, you know, I'd like to be able to use my influence to help Jamie. I really would.
Iris: We're going to be looking for a new chief of staff and -- perhaps I should talk to you about that later.
Vicky: Oh, well, anytime. I would love to anytime. Oh, I know where you've been! You've got that glow, mother.
Donna: Iris, hi!
Donna: Have you seen him?
Iris: No, I havenít.
Vicky: We're going to have to put a cot just for you in that nursery.
Donna: I know, I canít take my eyes away from him. Do you think all -- ahem -- grandparents are like this?
Iris: I can never think of Michael -- or you either, of course -- as grandparents.
Donna: I know. It's hard to believe, isnít it?
Vicky: Practically impossible.
Donna: That's all right, I donít care. I never dreamed it would be this exciting.
Iris: Where is Michael?
Donna: Oh, he's at work, but he's as obsessed with Steven as I am. Oh, darling. We canít wait to watch your baby grow up.
Jake: It's a good thing you found us, Cass.
Evan: Well, it wouldnít have been too hard. We were a bit obnoxious.
Cass: All I had to do was follow the aroma of the cigar smoke.
Jamie: Yeah, well, Cass, you have always been able to sniff out a good party.
Evan: Too bad the nurse dropped the bomb on us.
Jake: Yeah, well, you were the one that lit the cigar up underneath the smoke detector.
Jamie: Listen, gentlemen, I hate to break up a good thing, but I haven't seen my new son or my wife in at least 20 minutes, so goodbye.
Jake: Yeah, and I'll just go with him since my wife is with his.
Cass: Congratulations again, Jamie.
Jamie: Thanks again, guys. Bye-bye.
Cass: You got a minute? I'd like to talk about Feliciaís case.
Evan: Oh, sure. Go ahead.
Cass: Tell me what you know about the bonus that Iris issued Jason.
Evan: Not that much.
Cass: See, she told me one thing and she told the cops something totally different.
Cass: Yeah, imagine that. She said to me that she needed the money for extras for the spa, and she told the cops that she was paying Jason off to stop
feuding with the Coryís.
Evan: Actually, it's kind of the same thing.
Cass: It is?
Evan: Yeah, you see, she did give Jason some extra money, but part of it was supposed to be used for the spa.
Cass: You two work together, donít you?
Evan: Come on. I'm vice president in charge of finance at Cory. You know that.
Cass: Wouldnít you normally question a transaction like that?
Evan: Well, that's a rough call to make. I mean, she's my boss.
Cass: Yes, I'm aware of that, too. In fact, you came into Bay City about the same time as Iris, didnít you?
Evan: No, actually I was here first.
Cass: And moved right up the corporate ladder ever since.
Evan: Oh, come on, we've all worked very hard to put Cory Publishing back on top.
Cass: Cory Publishing threw the party for Felicia. In fact, I think Iris organized the whole thing, didnít she? So she had to know the setup with the tent and
the hall of mirrors. I imagine you did, too, didnít you?
Evan: What are you implying here?
Cass: Where were you at the time of the shooting?
Evan: I got a feeling you've got a good reason for asking me this.
Cass: I got a very good reason. I think someone else shot Jason Frame. That doesn't seem to startle you.
Evan: Well, I donít startle easy.
Cass: So where were you?
Evan: With Iris.
Cass: That's convenient. Did you mention that to the police?
Evan: At the time, I didnít think it was important.
Cass: Is there anything else that you didnít mention because you didnít think it was important at the time?
Evan: Hmm, yeah, there is one thing.
Evan: But, listen, I donít want to incriminate anybody. But Jason and John were in the big top together right before the shooting.
Evan: Well, they were fighting.
Cass: A serious fight?
Felicia: Sam. Hi.
Felicia: So what are you doing here?
Sam: I'm here to sign some contracts.
Felicia: I'm just waiting for Cass to come back.
Sam: Yeah, well, I'm glad you're here. I've been worried.
Felicia: Thank you.
Sam: Look, I know this is hard for you.
Felicia: Have you seen your brother?
Sam: No, but I've talked to him on the phone a couple of times.
Felicia: I'm afraid all this stuff is -- well, it's bringing back a lot of bad memories for him.
Sam: Yeah, I'll bet.
Felicia: I donít really even know what to do for him. I'm afraid I'm as frightened about it all as he is.
Sam: Felicia, you're not going to jail.
Felicia: No, of course I'm not. I know that.
Sam: Mitch is going to take care of you, just like I take care of Amanda.
Felicia: Well, it's certainly clear why you two are brothers.
Sam: Oh, this is just so stupid. It doesn't make any sense.
Felicia: Would you do something for me? If something should happen, would you take care of Mitch, I mean, stand by him?
Sam: Felicia, nothing's going to happen.
Felicia: I know, but just in case it does. Would you do that for me, please?
Amanda: Canít you at least give me a chance?
Auntie Rose: Well, you do have the right qualifications.
Amanda: Oh, good. I was hoping you would say that.
Auntie Rose: Our V.I.P. dates receive special treatment. Do you think you can handle that?
Amanda: Can you give me some idea?
Auntie Rose: Oh, I have a set of guidelines. I'll be right back. I'll get them.
Singer: Come walk right through my door and be loved for the rest of your life you talk about good lovin' let's talk about the lover in me shop
Auntie Rose: Here it is.
Amanda: Good. Can I see that?
Auntie Rose: I really wouldnít want this getting around. Do we understand each other?
Amanda: Oh, I think so.
Auntie Rose: Good. I'll just read this. "Wear clothes that enhance your figure."
Amanda: Oh, well, I think I can do that.
Auntie Rose: So I see. "Number two -- remember, the customer is always right. Number three, satisfying the customer is the name of the game."
Amanda: Does that mean what I think it means?
Auntie Rose: It means exactly what it says. You still interested?
Amanda: Well, sure. That is as long as you think that I'm up to it. There something more you have to ask me?
Auntie Rose: No. I donít think so for now. I might give you a trial run.
Amanda: You would?
Auntie Rose: I'll let you know at the end of the week.
Amanda: Good. I'll be waiting to hear from you.
Singer: So donít go talk about no other just talk about the lover in me shop
Marley: Oh, you have such a beautiful baby. I just saw him in the nursery.
Vicky: Why, thank you. I know it wonít be long until I say the same thing to you.
Marley: Well, I donít know what made Jake show up at your place before his job interview, but I sure am glad he was there. I --
Jamie: We're here again.
Ronnie: Ok, whose turn is it turn this time?
Vicky: Marley, would you like to do the honors?
Marley: Oh, I was hoping you would ask. Oh, come here, precious. Oh, I think he's smiling at me.
Jake: Oh, they canít smile yet.
Marley: Oh, of course he can. This is a miracle baby.
Jake: Yes, he is. Can you hold my finger? Yes, he can.
