Nicole: Thank you, thank you.
Cass: Come along.
Michael: Oh, isn't this terrific?
Nicole: I can't believe it!
Cass: He did a great job, didn't he?
Donna: A wonderful job!
Michael: John did a great job.
Donna: I love all those colors.
Mac: Everybody's here. There you go, darling.
Iris: Good evening, Franco. Have all the arrangements been made? This is a very important night.
Mac: Hey, there they are! Hello, everybody!
Cass: Boy, you look so good.
Iris: Ladies and gentlemen, could I please have your attention? Daddy and I want to welcome you all here tonight and ask you to join us in celebrating Coryís continued success.
Mac: Hey, hey! This party is for you! Enjoy yourselves!
Donna: That will be great!
Evan: Shall we go have a drink?
Mac: Evan, I'm so glad you got back.
Evan: Thank you, Mac.
Mac: Good to see you.
Evan: Let's have a drink.
Mac: Well, darling, I've been waiting for this day for a long, long time.
Iris: Oh, daddy, it's you and me against the world. Hmm.
Ada: Bennett Publishing is history. Mac's company has never been on firmer ground as long as I can remember, and you're standing in the middle of the biggest closet in the world trying to palm off all your old clothes on your mother! Now, am I supposed to think that that's normal?
Ada: Ugh what? Bugs?
Rachel: There's a strange woman here.
Ada: Somebody else is in here?
Rachel: No, it's me. I don't look so good.
Ada: Ah, you've looked better.
Rachel: I look like all the fight's gone out of me.
Ada: Has it?
Rachel: You better go get dressed. I think we're going to a party.
Ada: We are?
Rachel: I can't let Iris prance around Mac on the happiest day of his life!
Ada: I couldn't have said that better myself.
Rachel: So? Hurry up and get ready. We're late.
Ada: I haven't got anything to wear!
Rachel: Yes, you do. I gave you something -- this.
Ada: I'm not going to wear that.
Rachel: All right, well, then find something else because we have to go -- oh, tonight. Tonight! Tonight I'm going to fight fire with fire.
Jamie: I don't take this lightly, Vicky. I asked you to marry me because I'm serious.
Vicky: You wouldn't even be here if I wasn't carrying your child.
Jamie: But you are carrying my child and I want to offer you and the baby a future! The baby -- the baby deserves a life with two parents who live together, who --
Vicky: Love each other! That's the hard part, isn't it?
Jamie: I thought this is what you wanted.
Vicky: I want this more than anything, Jamie!
Jamie: Then tell me what the hell is going on.
Vicky: It's a contest! And I am not going to win you by default!
Vicky: I wanted you because I couldn't have you. You were in love with somebody else, you were a straight arrow, and to someone like me, that's a challenge!
Jamie: And that changed?
Vicky: Yes, because I made love with you. It wasn't a challenge anymore, Jamie. I fell in love with you and I'm in love with you now. That night, I wanted you more than anything! I didn't care what happened, I didn't care how, I didn't care who I hurt! But I ended up hurting me --
Vicky: And you and Lisa. But, you see, I -- I gave that all up when I went to Majorca. I knew I could hurt, but I couldn't hurt like that. And then, you came after me --
Jamie: Vicky, I care about you.
Vicky: And I love you.
Vicky: You won't even admit that you love me a little bit. Jamie, if it wasn't for this baby, I wouldn't be with you. You would be off with Lisa and I would be -- I don't know where I would be, but we wouldn't be together.
Jamie: All right, I didn't tell you that I love you. But I want to marry you. I offered myself to you and all you can say is, "gee, Jamie, I'm sorry, but that's not quite good enough"?
Vicky: That's not what I said!
Jamie: I said that I want to live my life with you and our baby. You said no. Is this what your love means to you?
Vicky: Do you think I'm enjoying this?
Jamie: I don't know!
Vicky: This is the hardest thing I've ever done!
Jamie: But you love me?
Vicky: With all my heart.
Jamie: Then explain it to me because I don't understand this kind of love. You make me understand.
Donna: Excuse me. I just had to tell you, I am so glad you're back.
Michael: I bet you are, too.
Nicole: Thanks, Donna.
Cass: Slightly. Let me take another look at you.
Cass: I think you look gorgeous.
Nicole: Oh, you must say that to all the girls.
Cass: That's not true. You are clearly the most beautiful woman here.
Nicole: Hmm. Can you tell me that again?
Caroline: Stafford, for one.
Cass: Well, well, well. Look, look, look, look.
Nicole: Doesn't she ever --
Nicole: I didn't realize that you were a friend of Macís.
Caroline: Excuse me?
Cass: Oh, didn't you know this is a private party?
Caroline: Oh. I came here for a quiet dinner and -- ha -- it seems like I chose the wrong restaurant.
Cass: Cory Publishing had some great news today, so we're celebrating.
Caroline: Well, I'm so glad I popped in, then.
Nicole: Oh. You just popped in, in that outfit?
Caroline: Just something I threw on.
Nicole: You missed a few places.
Caroline: Well, I see a few friendly faces. I think I'll just wander over and say hi. Lovely to see you both.
Cass: Nice to see you, Caroline.
Caroline: Nicole? Lovely little frock you're wearing. It's so nice and toasty for such cold weather. Perfect.
Cass: Down, girl!
Nicole: How can you be so civil to that little --
Cass: I know that she's kind of a pain in the neck, but it's -- it's all harmless. You take this flirtation stuff far too seriously.
Nicole: No, Cass. She just "popped in"? Right!
Nicole: Yeah, because she knew all of Macís rich friends would be here.
Cass: She almost popped out.
[Cass and Nicole laugh]
Nicole: I know.
Cass: There you are! Hi, honey! Hi.
Felicia: Oh, hi, guys!
Nicole: Hi, Felicia!
Felicia: So, is Franco taking good care of everyone at the party?
Nicole: Oh, yes.
Cass: Oh, couldn't be better, except for the two cases of food poisoning, that is.
Felicia: I'm glad.
Cass: Are you all right?
Felicia: Hi, hi. I'm sorry?
Cass: Did you have a fight with Mitch?
Cass: Your husband.
Felicia: No! Of course I didn't have a fight with Mitch.
Cass: Is it something else?
Felicia: No, honey! You know what, Nicole? I think you better get him something to eat. You know how he gets when his stomach is full of champagne and he hasn't had anything to eat. Come on!
Cass: Liz said that you stopped by to see me. Do you need to talk about anything?
Felicia: No, honey. I'm fine. I just have this very important engagement that I have to do tonight. Listen, if you need anything, just ask Franco, all right? I'll see you later.
Cass: Ok. Ok.
Felicia: All right. I love your outfit. Ok. See you later.
Felicia: Yes, this is Felicia Gallant. Could you have my car brought around to the front entrance, please? Yes -- no, no. I will be driving myself tonight. Yes, thank you. See you later.
Felicia: Thank you.
Jake: How can anyone afford to have a baby?
Jake: Do you know how much money it's going to cost to raise a child?
Marley: Jake, this is not what is bothering you and you know it.
Jake: Oh, what are you now, clairvoyant?
Marley: You know, a lot of people have fertility problems. We are not the only ones.
Jake: Yeah, well, it's starting to get to me.
Marley: What is?
Jake: Taking your temperature, making love on the right day. Who knows what this Dr. Jansen's going to come up for us to do?
Marley: Hey! We talked about this. You agreed that it was --
Jake: I just -- I just wish this was as easy for me as it is for you. I envy you, all right?
Marley: I want a child more than anything in this world.
Jake: I know that.
Marley: But if it will destroy what we have, then --
Jake: I don't want to talk about this anymore.
Jake: I don't want to talk about it.
Marley: Jake, don't run away from everything!
Jake: I don't want to talk about it!
Marley: Don't -- run away from me.
Vicky: I want to be loved back!
Jamie: Boy, you don't pull any punches, do you?
Vicky: Jamie, the only reason you even asked me to marry you is so you can guarantee your relationship with your child!
Jamie: That's not true.
Vicky: Yes, it is. You know it and I know it. You want this baby more than you want me. What I find hard to believe is that you want it even more than you want Lisa. But, Jamie, it's not good enough. I deserve more.
Jamie: Vicky, I will -- I will make this work. I'll try!
Vicky: "Try"? You think trying would be good for our child to see you trying to love me?
Jamie: He'll -- he'll know that we both love him!
Vicky: And then how long will it be until we hate each other?
Jamie: I will never hate you!
Vicky: Yes, you will.
Vicky: We'll go through our married life and I can guarantee you'll hate me because you'll always be blaming me for you losing Lisa.
Jamie: Stop dragging Lisa into this.
Vicky: You're still protecting her, aren't you? If you can't stop thinking about her the night you proposed to me, then how is our married life going to be any different?
Jamie: I'm here, aren't I? Now, doesn't that count for anything?
Vicky: Yeah. Yeah, that counts. You're here but where's your heart?
Evan: Well, you having fun?
Iris: What are you doing here? Amanda's all alone over at the bar.
Evan: Oh, everything's under control, Iris.
Iris: Hmm. Is it?
Evan: Yes. There's an art to this whole thing. Watch. May I have one of those? Thank you. Excuse me. Would you like some more?
Evan: There you go.
Amanda: Ok, ok.
Mac: Yes, darling?
Iris: You haven't danced with me all evening and I'm feeling very neglected.
Mac: Well, we'll have none of that. Would you excuse us? I want to dance with my gorgeous daughter. Come on.
Cass: Show us how it's done.
Mac: We could never replace you.
Iris: Daddy, do you know you were the very first man I ever danced with?
Mac: You were 4 years old. You stood on my feet and I taught you to waltz.
Iris: This is one of the happiest nights of my life.
Mac: Hmm. It would be for me, too, if only Rachel hadn't been too tired from her trip to Chicago to come.
Iris: Yeah, that's a pity.
We are going to make "Brava" the best, most successful international magazine --
Mac: I'll settle for that.
Iris: I've got so many wonderful ideas; I'm just going to --
Ada: Something to be said for being fashionably late.
Rachel: Yes. I'd forgotten how much fun this is.
Mac: Oh, Rachel! I'm so glad you changed your mind and decided to come! Everything's perfect now! Hey, Ada!
Mac: I love you! Come on, talk to everybody!
Felicia: Oh. Hi. Hmm. Oh, what are you doing out here all by yourself, huh, in the cold?
Man: Where do you think you're going, lady?
Man: Well, home ain't that way. This is a dead-end street.
Felicia: Yeah. Don't I know it. Well -- what -- are you hungry? Would you like something to eat? Ok. Look. Here. Take this. Go on, take it. Get yourself some food. Just don't get any booze, all right? No --
Felicia: Do -- do you live around here? Well, I think you better go home, too. You know, it's supposed to get very cold tonight and it may snow again. What? You -- you live right here? Do you? Wait, wait -- please. Wait. Here. Here. Take this, go ahead. It's all right. Go ahead, take it. Get yourself a room. It's too cold to be outside tonight. Ok?
Man: I know you.
Felicia: No. No, you donít.
Man: I know who you are.
Felicia: No. No, really, you donít.
Man: Yeah. You're the lady on all those book covers.
Felicia: Yes. Yes. I am that lady.
Man: Well, go home, lady, because this is no place for you.
Felicia: Gold Street. It never was.
Mac: But, darling, I thought you wanted to do your artwork. I think it's a great idea for you to come back to "Brava." I never wanted you to leave in the first -- let's go tell Iris right now.
Rachel: No. I think maybe I should by myself.
Mac: Really? Sure?
Rachel: Yes. Hmm. Iris?
Iris: Oh, hello, Rachel. That was quite an entrance you made.
Rachel: I'd like to talk to you.
Iris: I'm all ears.
Rachel: I don't think I should have left "Brava."
Iris: But you agreed to.
Rachel: I agreed because you forced me to because of Mac, but it was a mistake. I would like to come back.
Rachel: I want us to put our differences aside. What do you say?
Ada: Won't be boring, Iris, I'll tell you that.
Iris: Well, this is quite a surprise.
Rachel: Well, I'm willing to give it a try if you are. What do you say we let bygones be bygones?
Iris: Well, I -- I suppose your presence at "Brava" could be beneficial.
Ada: Good move, Iris! I think I'll bring Mac some champagne.
Iris: I think maybe we should have a trial run just to see if we can work together.
Rachel: What do you have in mind?
Iris: Well, I'm just about to start preparing for the snowflake ball.
Rachel: You want me to work on the snowflake ball?
Iris: Yes. Well, it's one of Cory Publishing's biggest fundraising events and it's going to take a hell of a lot of work.
Rachel: Fine. I'll do it if you're my co-chairman.
Rachel: Yes. As you say, it'll take a lot from both of us to make this work.
Iris: I wonder if it will -- work, that is.
Jamie: Vicky? Our baby deserves to -- to have his parents together. A family. I never had that. I still think about what I missed.
Vicky: I never had it, either, Jamie.
Jamie: Listen, Vicky. We can get along, you know? We've had some good times.
Jamie: And -- and things have been better lately. Think about how -- how close we were in Majorca.
Vicky: I know.
Jamie: And the day you had your sonogram -- do you remember? Do you remember how happy we were? And Thanksgiving. Huh. If we can come -- if we can meet halfway now, then maybe we can come full circle later on. We -- we haven't had the time to develop anything between us. That doesn't mean it couldn't happen. Don't think about now. Think about the future and the chance that -- the chance that we could be very happy together.
Vicky: Oh --
Vicky: Hi, this is Victoria Hudson. Is Donna Hudson there? It's a party, something?
Franco: Just one minute, Miss Hudson.
Iris: Is that Victoria Hudson?
Franco: Yes, ma'am.
Iris: Don't worry. I'll speak to her.
Iris: Hello, Vicky? This is Iris Wheeler.
Vicky: Oh, hi. Is my mom there?
Iris: Well, you sound awfully upset. Uh -- look, don't worry. I'll find her and tell her that you want to see her.
Vicky: Uh -- tell her I'm fine. I just -- I just need to talk to her.
Iris: I will. Don't worry, I'll take care of it. Goodbye. Oh, Donna.
Felicia: Ok, you're better. It's cold.
Man: How many times do I have to tell you -- you do what I tell you to do!
Man: You're just no good! I told you before, never touch that! You'll never amount to anything, do you know that, young lady?
Evan: Now, how often do you get a furlough from this -- this baby of yours?
Amanda: I love being with my family.
Evan: This is your family here, isn't it?
Amanda: You know what I mean.
Evan: You know, there's something I can't quite figure out about you.
Amanda: Great! I love being inscrutable.
[Evan and Amanda laugh]
Evan: Here you go.
Cass: You know, Mac looks like he's on top of the world.
Iris: Yeah. Daddy and I are very happy. By the way, he tells me you're an excellent lawyer.
Cass: When I want to be. I enjoy working for your father very much, but I also like to gamble on other projects. It keeps life interesting.
Iris: Do you gamble for money?
Cass: I've been known to participate in a game of chance from time to time.
Iris: I may need to pick a gambler's mind sometime. Shall I make an appointment?
Cass: I'm expensive.
Iris: The question is, are you worth it?
Cass: So I've been told. Give me a call.
Cass: Let's make a wish and see if it turns out.
Cass: Do you want to go first or shall I?
Nicole: You can go first.
Cass: Ok. I wish that Paris were only 10 miles away so you wouldn't have to leave me again.
Nicole: Wish granted.
Cass: What are you talking about?
Nicole: I'm not going back to Paris.
Cass: You're not? Why not?
Nicole: I decided when I saw you today, I can't be away from you anymore. And I'm just not going back until we can go together on our honeymoon, so Paris will just have to wait.
Cass: Well, what about Christian?
Nicole: Well, there's always the telephone.
Cass: I like this game. Let's make some more wishes while we're on this winning streak, ok?
Jamie: Jake. Ahem.
Bartender: What can I get you?
Jake: Yeah, I'll have another one, too.
Singer: So many times we don't give, we take
Jake: How's things?
Jamie: Great. You?
Jake: It's ok. Talk to Vicky lately?
Jamie: Yeah, I've seen Vicky.
Jake: How is she?
Jamie: Thank you.
Bartender: Here you go.
Jake: How is she?
Jamie: She's fine.
Jake: She's very important to me, Jamie. That's -- that's why I don't like seeing her alone.
Jamie: She doesn't have to be.
Jake: Says who?
Jamie: Me. I asked her to marry me today.
Singers: You ain't no exception to the rules
Jake: I guess that's why you look so happy, huh?
Jamie: She turned me down.
Jake: She what?
Jamie: You heard me.
Jake: That girl is something!
Jamie: There's no reason for us not to be married now. It's the only sensible thing to do.
Jake: Oh, and I'm sure that's the way you -- you put it to her and you're probably still wondering why she turned you down, huh?
Jamie: Look, Jake, I didn't come here for a rehash, especially not with you.
Jake: She turned you down. I have known that girl for years -- I still can't figure out what she's up to sometimes, you know?
Jamie: You sound like that's great or something.
Jake: What, don't you think it is?
Jamie: I never know how she's going to react, Jake. I never know what she's going to do. She turns my life upside down at least once a week!
Jake: I remember.
Jamie: Yeah, I bet you do.
Jake: It kind of makes life exciting, though. Know what I mean?
Singer: I said that you ain't no exception
Donna: Honey, are you all right? Is it the baby? I mean, what is it?
Vicky: Jamie asked me to marry him tonight.
Donna: What? Oh, honey! This is wonderful! Oh, I can't believe it! Well, I knew he was a little slow --
Vicky: Mom --
Donna: But this -- I knew he'd come around! This is just so wonderful! Michael -- oh, I've got to tell Michael right away.
Vicky: No, Mom --
Donna: He is going to be so excited. I can't believe this! Have you called Marley yet?
Vicky: Mom? Mom --
Donna: You know, sometimes you really do get things you want in life!
Vicky: I said no!
Singer: Something I can
Jake: So what are you going to do now about -- about Vicky?
Jamie: I don't know.
Jake: I mean, now that she turned you down and all?
Jamie: Jake, just go home -- just go home to Marley, will you?
Jake: I can't, not yet.
Singer: When I think
Jake: Ah. We're having a few problems, you know?
Singers: The scales are sometimes unbalanced
Jamie: Yeah, I heard you were -- ahem -- having trouble conceiving a child.
Singer: The weight of all that has to be
Jamie: Yeah, Vicky told me. That unpredictable nature you're so crazy about?
Singer: And together we can
Jake: You must have just laughed your head off, huh?
Jamie: I'm not like that, Jake. I have a number of patients who have the same problem. I know it's tough.
Singer: And so unselfishly
Jake: So, what do you tell these patients?
Jamie: Go see a fertility specialist.
Jake: We found one. I mean, actually, Michael found one, some -- some hotshot guy in Chicago.
Singer: Giving you the best that I got
Jake: Yeah. You've heard of him?
Jamie: He's the best.
Jake: What, you think he can help us?
Jamie: I don't know the details, Jake.
Singer: Everybody's got opinions 'bout the way they think our story's going to end
Jake: It's -- it's not just Marleyís fault.
Jamie: It's nobody's fault, Jake.
Jake: Hey, man, this is not easy for me to talk about, all right?
Singer: We love so strong
Jake: You're lucky you're having a kid, you know that?
Singer: And so unselfishly
Jamie: Yeah, I know.
Jake: I mean, all your life, you know, you just figure, "hey, when I want a kid, I'll just have one," and just -- it's just not like that.
Singer: Giving you the best that I've got
Jamie: Well, don't give up hope.
Jamie: Come on, there's -- there's a lot of -- a lot of reasons to have hope these days.
Singer: Giving you the best
Jake: Right, if you got the money.
Singer: Listen, baby
Jamie: Well, doesn't your job have medical coverage?
Jake: I freelance, man. I mean -- insurance doesn't cover fertility tests.
Jamie: Oh, yeah, that's right.
Jake: And Marley -- that's all she could think about. She needs to have a baby. Never seen her like this before.
Jamie: Couldn't you ask Michael for help?
Jamie: I thought you said this was important.
Jake: I'm not going to ask for charity from my father-in-law, all right?
Jamie: Oh. You have a lot of pride.
Singer: And I want to sing it forever
Jake: I just can't help the way I feel.
Jamie: What about Marley? What about how she feels? You may have to give up on your pride, just this once.
Singer: So I tell you now
Amanda: I'm fine!
Evan: Really? How many fingers do you see?
Amanda: Those fingers.
Evan: Listen, why don't you just let me get you a cup of coffee and I'll send you home right away? You'll thank me in the morning.
Amanda: No, I told Sam that I'm coming home right now.
Evan: He'll understand. He's not even here anyway.
Amanda: I know. He's at home painting. He's an excellent artist, you know that.
Evan: I -- I know. Listen, well, if you go home, he's going to have to stop; you're going to break his concentration.
Amanda: Yeah, that's just what I was hoping for.
Evan: You really don't go out very much, do you?
Amanda: I'm entitled! I'm a very devoted wife and mother.
Evan: Yes, you are.
Amanda: And besides, this was a special occasion. We took Bennett Publishing. We really whipped their --
Evan: Shh, shh, shh, shh! Listen, why don't you just let me take your coat?
Amanda: No. I have to go home right now. I have to go home now.
Evan: Ok, ok, ok. Just let me drive, all right? Hit the elevator. Oh, thank you.
Felicia: Oh, hi, honey. You're both still here?
Cass: Well, yeah? Where have you been?
Nicole: Are you ok?
Felicia: I'm fine, I'm fine.
Cass: You look terrible.
Felicia: Oh, well, thank you very much. I really needed that.
Cass: Would you please tell me what's wrong with you tonight?
Felicia: Look, you two, would you -- would you just stop? Just give me a minute. I'll be as good as new, I promise you. Stop worrying about me. All right?
Cass: I'm going after her.
Nicole: No, no, no. She'll come to you if she wants your help. She trusts you.
Cass: Ok. But something is definitely bothering her.
Nicole: Why don't we call her tomorrow, ok? Let's just give her some time to get herself together.
Cass: That sounds like a good idea.
Nicole: So, are you ready to go?
Nicole: Well, I haven't really seen you since I got back.
Cass: Hmm. Like I said, let's get the hell out of here.
Caroline: Leaving so soon?
Caroline: I was wondering if I could trouble you for a lift.
Nicole: How did you get here? Broomstick?
Caroline: My car's been in the shop since the snowstorm.
Cass: Oh, yes. Those mechanics like to keep you waiting, don't they?
Caroline: Yes, well, my building's on the way to your little shop.
Caroline: Right. Do you think you could squeeze me in?
Nicole: Oh, we'd love to give you a lift, Caroline, wouldn't we, Cass?
Cass: Um --
Nicole: But my car is a little two-seater.
Caroline: Is it?
Cass: Is it? It is, mm-hmm!
Nicole: Yes, and we'll be toasty enough without you. Ciao.
Cass: Oh, the elevator. Good night.
Caroline: Your point this time, Nicole.
Mac: It's true.
Michael: Ok. I know. I believe it.
Rachel: That's -- that's smart.
[Singing in French]
Iris: I'd love to know what you find so amusing.
Michael: Well, it's just I haven't been turned down quite like that in quite a long time.
Iris: I see.
Michael: Perhaps I should try a more indirect approach.
Iris: Well, it couldn't hurt.
Michael: Um -- are you alone?
Iris: Yes, I'm alone.
Michael: Good. Well, you're not alone any longer, but continue, please. Go on.
Iris: I'm not sure that I want to.
Michael: Ok. Do you live in Cannes?
Iris: No. Do you?
Michael: No. No, that's -- that's my little boat out there, the white one.
Iris: Oh, the little hundred-foot yacht?
Michael: Yeah, that's the one.
Iris: Hmm. It's very nice.
Michael: Thank you. I just docked it a couple of hours ago. I think at this moment, I am very glad I did.
Iris: Well, why me?
Michael: Well, it's obvious -- you are the most beautiful woman in this cafe.
Iris: That's true.
Michael: And obviously, the most perceptive.
Iris: Perception is not a quality admired by most men.
Michael: Well, I am not most men.
Iris: Perhaps. Perhaps not.
Michael: Ooh. Do I detect a little chill in here, hmm? Hmm?
Iris: Well, us women have to take care of ourselves.
Michael: I see. Well, then how about if I order us some espresso? Maybe that'll take the chill off and warm us up a little bit. Ok? My name is Michael Garrison.
Rachel: Felicia? Felicia?
Rachel: There you are!
Felicia: Rachel, hi.
Rachel: I've been looking all over for you!
Felicia: How beautiful you look.
Rachel: Thank you. There are some people out there who want to meet you --
Rachel: Who've never met you, who've never met the famous authoress, talk-show host, restaurateur extraordinaire --
Felicia: Rachel --
Rachel: Felicia Gallant. Come on! Get a move on!
Felicia: All right, all right. I'll be right there.
Rachel: Are you all right?
Felicia: Yes! No, no, I'm fine. I'll be right there, I promise.
Rachel: Ok, well, hurry up.
Felicia: Ok, go on.
Rachel: Don't forget.
Felicia: I wonít.
Felicia: Ok. You can do this, Felicia. That's right. That's who you are. Let's go.
Marley: I missed you.
Jake: I missed you, too, Marley.
Marley: Oh, Jake. Oh. Are you mad at me?
Jake: You mad at me?
Marley: I want your child.
Jake: I know, honey. I know. Do you blame me for this?
Marley: Oh, no. Do you still love me?
Jake: I love you more than anything in the entire world.
Mac: And when I saw you step out of that elevator, I immediately thought of the very first time I met you.
Rachel: And when I saw you tonight, I thought, "I've never seen him look more handsome."
Mac: Yes, but I had this -- you know, like I told you before, tingling sensation, delicious feeling inside, just like the very first time I met you, and I knew at that moment I was going to spend my life with you. I'm telling you, when you came out of that elevator, I just, like, had a vision of how lucky I am.
Rachel: Oh, darling. It's amazing how we've always pulled through.
Mac: Rachel, I treasure every moment I've spent with you, every moment.
Rachel: I want us to love each other like this always, all right?
Mac: Nothing's ever going to come between us.
Donna: Oh, well, I can't cook a turkey, but I can boil a mean pot of water. Here you go, sweetie.
Donna: Oh. You feeling any better?
Donna: I want you to listen to me for a minute. You know, I didn't get a chance to know you until you were all grown up. And that's something that I can't take back. And that's something that I'm always going to regret for the rest of my life.
But when I did meet you, it didn't take me very long to realize that you were just like me.
Vicky: I don't know about that.
Donna: Oh, I do. That's why you're so very special -- because I know that you have the same feelings inside that I do. And I wasn't even around to make that happen. Look, honey, we -- we both want so much out of life and sometimes -- well, a lot of times -- we get hurt because we go for what we want. But that's ok. It is ok to want more.
Vicky: Is it?
Donna: Yes, baby, it is. Because, you see, you deserve to be loved. And if you really don't believe that Jamie loves you, then you did absolutely the right thing by saying no.
Donna: Oh, baby.
Vicky: I really feel like I blew it.
Donna: No, you didnít.
[Knock on door]
Donna: It's going to be all right. Hey, let me get that. You know that -- that might be your father. He was awfully worried about you, too.
Donna: Jamie! Well --
Jamie: I'm sorry. I didn't know you had company. I'll come back.
Donna: No! No. No, that's -- that's fine. Um -- come on in. Victoria, I'm -- I'm going to go check on that roast that we've got in the oven.
Vicky: Ok. Um -- I -- I didn't expect to see you again tonight.
Jamie: I didn't -- I didn't, either.
Jamie: I mean, see you.
Vicky: Right -- no, yeah. I know what you mean.
Jamie: Look, can I start over?
Vicky: Uh -- yeah -- here? Where --
Jamie: Before, I was --
Jamie: I've been doing a lot of thinking and I really -- I really didn't handle myself well. I wasn't -- I wasn't fair to you. I -- I blew it.
Vicky: Blew -- oh, I know -- ooh, I know that feeling.
Jamie: I have Thursday off. Could we talk some more then? Listen, I would understand if you -- if you would -- if you don't want to. I mean, if I were you, I wouldn't want to talk to me, either, right now.
Vicky: I'll see you Thursday.
Jamie: You will?
Jamie: Good. Then I'll -- then I'll be looking forward to that.
Vicky: Oh, well, me, too. Thursday, yeah.
Jamie: Good. Then it's settled.
Jamie: Get some rest.
Vicky: Rest -- yeah, I'll get some, yeah.
Jamie: Ok. Good night.
Vicky: Yeah. Good night.
Jamie: Good night.
Vicky: Bye. Bye --
Donna: Is he gone?
Donna: Oh, baby. Are you all right? I mean, what -- what did he -- you're smiling.
Donna: No, I mean, you're really smiling!
Vicky: I mean --
Donna: What? What happened?
Vicky: I think the stars are out for me tonight, Mom! I think things are going to go my way!
Donna: Oh, honey!
