Lisa's voice: "I've decided that you were wrong. We need to be apart. Everything has gotten so complicated. I'm going away and may not return. Lisa."
Kevin: The line was busy. I'll try him again later.
Tracy: Oh. Poor Dad. He must be going nuts, especially now that I left aunt Grace's and came here.
Kevin: I don't know what I'm going to tell him when I do talk to him.
Tracy: You know, I hate lying to him. I mean, lying to everybody.
Kevin: Me, too.
Tracy: Everything is such a mess.
Matthew: Hey, guys.
Kevin: Matt, I'm glad you're here. Matt, what's up?
Matthew: It's nothing, it's nothing.
Tracy: Come on, I can tell that's not true. Something happened. What is it?
Matthew: Yeah, something has happened.
Matthew: One of our cars -- the one I've driven a couple times -- it was trashed last night.
Drew: No, no, no. Now, watch your step. We're almost there. Ok. Oops, curtain. There you go.
Drew: Ok, come on. To the right, to the right, straight ahead. Straight forward. Now, you said you like surprises, didn't you?
Nicole: That depends.
Drew: On what, who's giving them?
Nicole: On what it is.
Drew: On what it is? This is it.
Drew: A jet.
Nicole: It's yours?
Drew: At your service.
Nicole: Everything is so beautiful.
Drew: Well, it is now.. Robert, we'll be ready for departure in a few minutes.
Nicole: "Departure"? Where are we going?
Drew: To dinner, of course.
Vicky's voice: Lisa.
Jamie: What are you doing back there?
Vicky's voice: And it's written in pencil, too. Almost too easy, Lisa.
Jamie: Tell me, how are the Lamaze classes going?
Amanda: Um --
Amanda: Well, they're not. I put them on hold.
Jamie: Why? You don't have much time left, you know.
Sam: We decided that we would put them off until I could go with her.
Jamie: Well, Sam, I don't think the baby can wait.
Sam: Well, hey, you said I'm getting better, so I guess we can start the classes now.
Jamie: No, Sam, that kind of traveling is just the kind of exertion you don't need right now.
Sam: Jamie, I want to be prepared for my child's birth. I also want to be there for Amanda.
Amanda: Sam, it isn't safe.
Sam: I'm going to those classes no matter what you say.
Kevin: What -- the car was trashed?
Matthew: Trashed. The windows were broken, the tires slashed.
Tracy: Come on.
Matthew: The garage is looking over the car for any further damage.
Kevin: You mean like sand in the gas tank?
Kevin: Well, that's about Tad's speed.
Tracy: You know, it's all our fault. I'm sorry that we got you into this mess.
Matthew: You didn't get me into this. I wanted to help. Besides, we don't know if Tad's the one who wrecked the car.
Kevin: Don't kid yourself, Matt. Who else would it be?
Matthew: Look, my Dad's in the middle of this business fight. Those things can get pretty hairy, and the car-trashing could be a result of that.
Tracy: Right, maybe. Look, I told you that I thought somebody had followed me here to Bay City. The next day, this happens to your car.
Matthew: Could be coincidence, all right?
Kevin: Look, I'm going to try Dad again before it's too late. Do you want to talk to him?
Tracy: Um -- no. Why don't you go ahead, huh?
Matthew: You're right.
Tracy: Sure. You know, I just -- I didn't want to talk to my Dad right now because -- because I can't. Not when I've put everyone through this hassle, you know? I thought that I'd probably just start crying.
Matthew: Come on, you have nothing to feel bad about.
Tracy: What, of course I do, Matt.
Tracy: I was stupid. I was stupid to go with Tad that night, but I really thought that he just wanted to walk me home.
Matthew: Yeah, I know that. We know that.
Tracy: But I just keep thinking, you know -- I must have done something to make him think that I wanted him.
Matthew: Hey, hey, hey, that's not true. Tracy, you did not do anything.
Tracy: Well, then why did he attack me?
Matthew: The guy is a disgusting jerk, that's why he attacked you.
Tracy: You know, it was really -- it was really horrible that night. Sometimes -- sometimes I can still feel his hands. I mean, thank God that you and Kevin were there to stop him before he could just go and --
Matthew: Tracy, listen to me. You did not make him attack you. You're not responsible for what he did. You understand?
Tracy: You've been really wonderful to Kevin and me..
Matthew: Hey, you're Kevin's sister. I can't have you upset all the time. I just hope you don't think all guys are like Tad.
Tracy: I know they're not.
Tracy: You know, sometimes I just wish I could make that night disappear.
Matthew: Hey, hey, hey -- you will. It's all right. You're safe now.
Tracy: Thank you.
Vicky: Hold on!
Lisa: Hello, Vicky.
Vicky: I don't appreciate you walking in here without an invitation.
Lisa: Too late.
Vicky: Get out.
Lisa: No, we have something to discuss first.
Vicky: What now?
Lisa: This note, and the changes you made in it.
Vicky: I don't know what you're talking about.
Lisa: This note.
Vicky: What about it?
Lisa: I wrote it for Jamie before I went away. You got a hold of it and made a few changes to make me look bad.
Vicky: Oh, I don't need to make you look bad, Lisa. You do an excellent job all by yourself.
Lisa: I know you changed the note, Vicky.
Vicky: You're crazy.
Lisa: You're crazy to think that you can get away with it!
Vicky: I don't know what you're talking about.
Lisa: I know what you did.
Vicky: Did you use your psychic abilities to figure out yet another deep mystery?
Lisa: As a matter of fact, I did.
Vicky: You really believe that stuff, don't you? You walk out on Jamie, and you come over here to blame me because you lost him.
Lisa: This time, you lose, Vicky. I'm going to show this note to Jamie, and I'm going to let him know what you did.
Vicky: He's not going to believe you.
Lisa: I wouldn't count on that.
Vicky: Haven't you realized that Jamie's sick of your stupid stories about me being a villain? I mean, they're not true. And personally, I'm getting very bored with them. You've got to be bored by now.
Lisa: I'm going to take a chance and show him the note, anyway.
Vicky: Ok, you do that.
Vicky: I've got more important things to do.
Lisa: Poor kid.
Lisa: To have you taking care of him? It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.
Vicky: Mikey and I get along just fine.
Lisa: You are a liar and a fake. You manipulate and betray people, and you're going to raise him to be just like you.
Jake: What is going on?
Drew: Nicole, relax.
Nicole: I have a right to be a little nervous about flying.
Drew: That's right, I do remember what happened to you last time. That wasn't very good.
Nicole: Crash landing on a deserted island isn't my idea of fun.
Drew: Nicole, this jet -- this is state-of-the-art equipment. Go on, admit it -- you can't even tell we're in the air.
Nicole: Well, it is smooth, I guess. The clouds are racing by a little quick, don't you think?
Drew: You know, you're the only woman who ever made me laugh. I've done more and seen more than most men do in a lifetime. And I've never been as happy as I've been when I'm with you.
Nicole: Do you remember skiing?
Drew: Skiing? Do I remember skiing?
Drew: Are you kidding? Let me tell you. I remember when you just started to learn how to ski. You were at the top of the hill. We were down at the bottom waiting on you. And we were watching you. It was like a wild animal was chasing you. You were all over the place.
Nicole: Hmm. I was scared out of my mind.
Drew: Well, yeah, you were really something, all right.
Nicole: Well, I've gotten much better, I'll have you know.
Drew: Oh, hmm, that's good. Hey, how about my new Ferrari?
Nicole: Don't start.
Nicole: At least I didn't hurt anybody.
Drew: Well, there I was in the biggest international merger of my whole career. And you come in crying, covered with mud, straw all over you.
[Nicole and Drew laugh]
Nicole: I don't think they understood that I drove into it --
Nicole: Not rolled in it.
Drew: Oh, yeah. Hey, you know that one client, Maurice? He still asks me, "so how's that fast American girlfriend of yours, huh?"
Nicole: Oh, no -- you don't think they really think that, do you?
Drew: Well, they still don't understand how a man can love his woman more than he can love his car.
Drew: Well, they don't understand how come I didn't kill you when you wrecked one of my Ferraris.
Nicole: Yeah. You were very understanding.
Drew: Hmm. I just didn't want to lose you.
Nicole: Yeah. You were pretty lucky.
Drew: Hmm. I guess I did lose you, didn't I?
[Intercom phone buzzes]
Drew: Yes, Robert? That's right. Chart the course that we discussed. Ms. Love and I will be returning tomorrow.
Kevin: Is everything ok?
Tracy: Um -- you weren't able to reach Dad?
Kevin: Actually, I did talk to him.
Matthew: You weren't that long.
Kevin: Well, I guess not.
Tracy: Well, Kevin, what did he say?
Kevin: The usual. "Get a real job. Photographic assistants don't make much money, do they?"
Tracy: Sorry about that.
Kevin: He just wants me to be just like him, and I'm not.
Matthew: That's what most parents want, man.
Kevin: No. Most parents want their kids to do better than them. But not my old man. And he wants me to look out for you.
Tracy: Maybe we should go back.
Matthew: Wait, that's crazy. You guys have to wait out here. I mean, give Tad a chance to chill out.
Kevin: He's right. We can't go back home. We can't go anywhere near Winston prep.
Tracy: Well, then what are we supposed to do?
Matthew: Maybe my sister can help. Amanda.
Tracy: Your sister? How?
Matthew: I don't know exactly, but she's pretty level-headed, and Sam -- Sam's cool. I'm sure he could think of something. What do you guys think?
Kevin: Why not.
Matthew: Well, let's go.
Tracy: This way?
Jake: What was that all about?
Vicky: Nothing.. Absolutely nothing.
Jake: Who was that?
Vicky: Lisa Grady. Waste of my time.
Vicky: Oh, she's trying to get Mikey away from me. Oh, he's not crying anymore. I guess Bridget must have him.
Jake: I've got a feeling she doesn't like you.
Vicky: Jake, you've always had such a way with words. It's nothing I can't handle. What are you doing here?
Jake: I thought I'd find Marley here.
Jake: Your sister?
Vicky: What is it with you two?
Jake: Everything's fine.
Vicky: Come on, Jake. It is me, remember?
Jake: Yes, I remember.
Vicky: Well, then cut the act! I mean, I know everything is not right between you and Marley.
Jake: Why, did Marley say something?
Vicky: No, she didn't. That's my point, actually. I bring up your name, and she goes silent.. I bring up her name, and you go silent. And when two of you are in a room together, it's -- it's uncomfortable.
Jake: Well, things have been better.
Vicky: So why don't you tell me about it?
Jake: Vicky --
Vicky: I just want to help, Jake.
Jake: Do you?
Vicky: Still don't trust me, do you? Fine.
Jake: Vicki -- Vicki -- it's not that I don't trust you; it's just that I don't know if you can help.
Vicky: Can't help? Don't you remember all those times I saved your life in Lassiter?
Jake: You know something? I don't think Europe changed you at all.
Vicky: Would you have wanted me to change?
Jake: No, I guess not.
Vicky: Didn't think so. We used to make a pretty good team. In some ways.
Jake: Yes, we were.
Jake: Maybe I could use your help with Marley.
Vicky: Well, what do I get in return?
Jake: My help, with anything you want.
Jamie: Thank you very much. Well, it's all settled. That was Veronica Laurence from the hospital, and she's agreed to come over here and give you two private instructions in Lamaze.
Sam: All right!
Jamie: Yeah, she's very good.
Amanda: Well, how soon can she get here?
Jamie: How about tomorrow?
Sam: Tomorrow? Ok, I got to get ready for this one.
Jamie: Sam, relax.
Sam: Well, I want to be prepared, you know?
Jamie: You'll be just fine. She's the best there is. Just make sure he doesn't overdo it, and I'll be happy.
Amanda: I will, I promise.
Sam: Jamie, thank you for setting this up.
Jamie: No problem. I'm glad you were stubborn about those classes.
Jamie: It'd be a shame to miss one of them. One of the best experiences of your life.
Amanda: Duty calls.
Jamie: Yeah, as always. May I use your phone?
Sam: Yeah --
Sam: Go ahead.
Amanda: I'm really glad Jamie's helping us do this together.
Amanda: It makes me happy.
Sam: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Jamie: No, really?
Amanda: Hmm -- wait.
Sam: What? What?
Jamie: All right. I'll be right there. I've got to run.
Sam: What's up?
Jamie: Some kid at school fell off the bleachers. I'll see you both later. Bye.
Sam: All right. Later, man.
Amanda: Ok. Bye.
Sam: There is a man who moves very fast.
Sam: Hmm. Mm-hmm. Very fast.
[knock on door]
Amanda: The door.
Matthew: Hope I'm not interrupting anything here.
Sam: No, that's ok. We were just having a conference call with Reagan and Gorbachev. We can call back tomorrow.. Come on in.
Matthew: Sam, Amanda, you know Kevin. This is Kevin's sister Tracy.
Matthew: Tracy, this is my sister Amanda --
Matthew: And her husband, Sam.
Sam: That's me.
Tracy: Hi --
Tracy: Nice meeting you both.
Sam: Yeah. Well, so, now that we're all friends -- um --
Kevin: We're probably interrupting. Maybe we should just go.
Sam: No, it's ok. There's nothing going on.
Amanda: Mm-hmm. Sam's feeling a lot better, Matthew.
Matthew: Great. Good, good, good.
Amanda: I think it's time you told him your story, don't you?
Adam: So, this is just about all we got on the boy.
Officer: Not much to go on.
Adam: I'll say. You know, almost every lead that we've had in this case has gone nowhere. That's why I'm hoping this clothing angle is going to come up with something. Lisa, I want you to meet somebody. It's a new detective in the office, Courtney Walker. Courtney, this is Lisa Grady.
Lisa: Hi, Courtney, it's nice to meet you.
Adam: She was the one I was telling you about. She's the one who's going to help us find Mikey's family.
Lisa: Did you get something else?
Adam: I was looking over the file again, getting ready to brief Courtney here.. And I remembered something. When they found Mikey, Mikey was wearing clothes that had New York labels.
Lisa: Well, I thought you already checked the missing children's bureau in New York.
Adam: We did all of that. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. If we can get hold of those clothes, maybe you could get an impression about Mikey, about his family.
Courtney: Sergeant Cory's been filling me in on your psychic works. I'm afraid I'm a little skeptical.
Lisa: Oh, that's all right. Most people are. It's hard to buy in to something that isn't based on logic.
Courtney: Yeah. But Adam swears by you.
Lisa: There's going to be one problem.
Courtney: Oh. I don't understand.
Lisa: The woman who's taking care of Mikey isn't -- well, she and I are not on the best of terms. She's probably not going to be thrilled to cooperate.
Courtney: Hmm. Well, why don't you wait in the car and I'll go in?
Courtney: Ok, I'll go sign out a car and meet you out front?
Lisa: Ok. Courtney seems real nice.
Lisa: I hope that she had training in dealing with a difficult public, because Vicky's on the warpath.
Adam: Did you just see her?
Lisa: Yeah. I found something that she did. And I thought I could finally catch her in all her lies.
Adam: What was it?
Lisa: Well, never mind. It doesn't matter. You know, one thing's for sure. She's right about blaming her is not going to get Jamie back. I'm sorry.
Adam: Don't be. Ahem.
Lisa: Um -- I guess I'll go find Courtney.
Adam: She's not going to be ready for a few minutes. Hang around, you know --
Lisa: Well, I'll go wait for her, anyway. Oh -- excuse me.
[Calypso music plays]
Nicole: Oh, the Blue Dolphin.
Drew: Mm-hmm. How could I forget your favorite restaurant in all of St. Barts?
Nicole: Which also happens to be my favorite island in all the Caribbean.
Maitre d': Mr. Marsden, your table is ready. Good evening, Ms. Love.
Nicole: Philip, it's been a long time.
Philip: Yes, it has. This way.
Drew: Four years as a matter of fact.
Drew: So what do you think -- still the same place?
Nicole: Oh, it's better. We came here so often.. I never thought I'd see it again.
Nicole: Thank you.
Drew: The Blue Dolphin lost some of its charm after you left.
Cole: Oh, come on. I'm sure you must've brought a lot of women here.
Philip: The last time he was here with a woman, it was with you, Ms. Love. Your waiter will be with you shortly. Enjoy your meal.
Nicole: Thank you. Well, evidently the place has gone downhill since we were here last. It's empty.
Drew: I wanted to be alone with you.
Nicole: Oh, so you bring me to a place where the food was bad and it's guaranteed we'll be alone, huh?
Drew: The food is wonderful. I rented the place for tonight.
Nicole: Drew --
Philip: Mr. Marsden, your hotel called to confirm your reservation, sir.
Drew: All right. Thanks, Philip.
Nicole: Uh -- Drew, there's something we need to get straight right now.
Drew: What's that? Can't it wait?
Nicole: No, it can't. It has to do with the sleeping arrangements.
Drew: You can have your pick.
Nicole: Of what?
Drew: Of suites. I rented two in the penthouse.
Drew: One for each of us.
Nicole: Oh. That's good.
Drew: Nicole, when it comes to you, I would never presume. I want to enjoy your company on your terms.
Nicole: You put a lot of work into tonight, and you didn't even know if I would come.
Drew: I lit a candle and said a prayer and they were answered.
Nicole: Oh, you don't leave anything to chance, do you?
Drew: Hmm. Nope.
Nicole: Down to the last detail.
Drew: When it comes to something you care about, it takes planning. To us and second chances.
Nicole: Oh, Drew --
Drew: Nicole, I made a mistake four years ago when I let you walk out of my life. I don't want to repeat that mistake again.
Jake: Adam, hi.
Adam: Lisa Grady, Jake McKinnon. This is Marley's husband.
Lisa: Oh! Oh, hi!
Lisa: It's nice to meet you. I guess we sort of met earlier.
Jake: Well, I'm glad we got formally introduced.
Lisa: Well, I'll go find Courtney. Nice to meet you, Jake. Bye, Adam.
Jake: Bye. Not a bad job.
Jake: So how is police biz?
Adam: A million laughs. How long are you and Marley going to be around here?
Jake: Well, that all depends.
Adam: Oh, I suppose you want to see Donna and Michael after they get back, huh?
Jake: Yeah, if I can. Listen, Adam, I didn't stop by here just to say hi.
Adam: What's up?
Jake: Remember the other day I said that I went and saw M.J.?
Adam: Yeah. She was working hard in her restaurant and --
Jake: What I didn't tell you was that the reason she's working so hard -- she's not over you.
Adam: Jake --
Jake: Just hear me out, all right? Just hear me out. I mean, she's constantly at the restaurant. She's frazzled and she's strained. She's driving herself crazy because the woman is still in love with you.
Adam: And you don't know the whole story.
Jake: M.J. and myself had long conversations about you and about Chad Rollo.
Adam: I don't want to talk about Chad Rollo, not with you, not with anybody. I don't even really want to talk about M.J.
Jake: I understand. I just thought that I owed it to you to let you know that she still loves you and that she hates the fact that she blew her only chance with you. Adam.
Adam: She lied to me, Jake.
Jake: So what? Now you don't care about her anymore?
Adam: Of course I care about her. I think about her almost every day.
Jake: Then why don't you pick up the phone and call her?
Adam: Look, I got work to do around here.
Jake: Adam, there is nothing worse than being without the one you love. I know.
Adam: So -- ahem -- how are you and Marley?
Jake: I thought we were talking about M.J.
Adam: We were talking about M.J. Now we're talking about you and Marley. How are you?
Jake: She's fine, we're fine.
Adam: Well, it's just that she -- doesn't really sound like things are fine between you, that's all.
Jake: Marley's fine, I'm fine. Just think about what I said about M.J., All right?
Vicky: Could you do me a favor -- look and see when Jamie Frame is coming in next? He's there? Oh, an emergency. Hmm. Uh -- ok, tell me, how is your boyfriend, huh? Hmm. Well, so what you need is a quiet, maybe, dinner for two with some candlelight, huh? Well, hey, why don't I just take over for you tonight? No, really, it would be no problem. Um -- but, hey, why don't you just erase your name and fill in mine so nobody gets angry about mixing up the schedules, ok? Great! Great. No, really. Have a great time. Yeah. Bye.
Bridget: Yes, dear.
Vicky: Uh --
Bridget: Are you going out?
Vicky: Yeah, I -- I've got to go to work. I just wanted to check and see how Mikey's doing.
Bridget: Oh, he's -- he's asleep now, dear. Oh, he's such a fine laddie, isn't he?
[Vicky and Bridget chuckle]
Vicky: I know. Well, Bridget, I tell you, I'm falling in love with him.
Bridget: Well, who could blame you for that, eh?
Vicky: Hey, I'm not overworking you with Mikey, am I?
Bridget: But of course you're not, dear! You know I love helping you with him.
Vicky: I know. You do such a great job, better than any nurse I could ever imagine.
Bridget: Oh, well, now, I do fine with him, but I don't do nearly as good as you do.
Vicky: Oh, Bridget --
Bridget: No, I mean that, dear. You're wonderful with him.
Vicky: Well, I wish other people were as thrilled about the idea as you are.
Bridget: Well, who's that, huh?
Vicky: Oh, nothing. That doesn't matter, as long as you know that I had no ulterior motives about taking care of Mikey.
Bridget: I know that, dear.
[Vicky and Bridget chuckle]
Bridget: But tell me, dear -- why did you decide, I mean, to take care of Mikey?
Vicky: Bridget, when I saw that beautiful, precious little face on that boy in the -- the hospital, I just knew I had to give him a home just like you gave me.
Bridget: Victoria --
Vicky: Oh. Bridget, I know I wasn't the greatest kid.
Bridget: Oh, my dear. You brought me so much happiness.
Vicky: Oh, that's what you said. And I guess I just never understood it until I found Mikey.
Bridget: Well, he's a wonderful boy and we're going to enjoy him just as long as the welfare board needs you to take care of him, eh?
Vicky: And we are going to make a wonderful man out of that little boy.
Bridget: You sound very determined, dear.
Vicky: Oh, I am. I am so happy, Bridget. And I am not going to let anyone or anything take away what's mine. Bye.
[Calypso music plays]
Drew: Something wrong?
Nicole: Like what?
Drew: The swordfish?
Nicole: Oh, no, no.
Drew: I mean, because if there is, I -- I'll have the chef take it out in a shot.
Nicole: No, no. The food is wonderful. I've just been thinking.
Drew: Hmm. Doesn't seem to be happy thoughts. Are you having a good time?
Nicole: Yes, it -- it's just that there's something bothering me.
Drew: And you want to talk about it.
Nicole: Actually, I do.
Drew: Ok. Let's talk.
Nicole: Well, there's a rumor going around that you're trying to take over Cory Publishing.
Nicole: I feel uncomfortable asking you this. I know that your business dealings are your own business.
Drew: And you want to know if the rumors are true.
Nicole: I do. Are they?
Nicole: Oh, no.
Drew: Look, Nicole, it's just business.
Nicole: But poor Mac -- he must be crushed.
Drew: Mac Cory? Oh, that's right -- you must know him.
Nicole: Oh, for years. He's been very good to my family and me. I really don't want to see him get hurt.
Drew: Well, why would he be?
Nicole: Well, Cory Publishing is his baby.
Drew: If my takeover bid is successful, he'll find another. He's mounting quite a drive to stop it.
Nicole: How can you justify trying to take away his company?
Drew: Well, Nicole, you're acting like I'm murdering somebody here. It's just not that way.
Nicole: Explain it to me, please.
Drew: It's a business decision. I'm working for a firm independently who's going to pay me a great deal for this acquisition. That's all. I have nothing against Mac Cory. I don't even know who he is.
Nicole: Well, I know I would be upset if someone tried to take Nicole Love Fashions away from me.
Drew: If I can get his company for my client, I'm going to make him a lot of money and then he can find a company to take over for himself.
Nicole: You make it sound like a game.
Drew: Nicole, I've been in the business world for a long time. That's all it is -- it's a game. You win companies and you lose companies. It's just money. It's not important.
Nicole: Well, then, what is important?
Drew: Love. Being with somebody you care about, somebody that wants to be with you. Right now, I don't have that in my life. I did one time -- the most charming woman in the world.
Nicole: Drew --
Drew: Nicole, you wanted to know what was important to me. Now you do. Being with you is very important to me, the most important thing in the world.
Vicky: Hi, Jamie.
Jamie: I didn't know you were here today.
Vicky: Yeah, duty calls.
Vicky: Jamie, is something wrong? Are you mad at me or something?
Jamie: What? No, no. Why? Should I be?
Vicky: No! I guess you just need this time -- I'm going to leave.
Jamie: No, wait. Um -- actually, I could -- I could use some company.
Vicky: What happened?
Jamie: Well, I -- I just got out of surgery. You want some coffee?
Vicky: No, thanks. Didn't go well, huh?
Jamie: I don't know -- he's still in recovery.
Vicky: Well, who is it?
Jamie: Some kid. He drank too many beers and fell off the bleachers at school.
Vicky: Oh, no.
Jamie: He's only 16 years old, Vicky.
Vicky: Jamie, I'm sure you did the best you could.
Jamie: Did I? There are a million decisions to make in the O.R. Room and you never know if you make the right ones. I don't know.
Vicky: Jamie, second-guessing yourself is ridiculous. That boy is going to be just fine.
Vicky: And if he's not, that's not your fault. Jamie, you can't work miracles.
Jamie: Yeah, that's for sure. I was just with his parents, Vicky. You should've -- you should've seen them. They were begging me to tell them that their boy is OK and I can't do that.
Vicky: I've never heard you talk this way.
Jamie: Yeah, I know. I'm a doctor with eternal hope, the incurable optimist.
Vicky: No, I mean I've never heard you be so down on yourself before.
Jamie: That boy is depending on me, Vicky.
Vicky: Jamie, I'm sure you did everything you could for him. I know it's tough to feel responsible for somebody else's life. I'm feeling it for the first time right now with Mikey. And there are times when you feel helpless and times you feel like you want to do much more than you can do. But you've got to be able to say to yourself that you've done everything you can.
Jamie: Well, I can't do that right now, Vicky. Sometimes I think I should never have gotten into medicine to begin with.
Vicky: Jamie! Don't you ever say that.
Matthew: And then after Tracy showed up, our car got trashed.
Sam: You think it was those kids from school, huh?
Matthew: I don't know. I think it may have something to do with this takeover business.
Amanda: What do you think, Sam?
Sam: I think you guys have been through an awful lot.
Matthew: We just don't know what the next move is.
Sam: The next move should be leveling with Mitch.
Amanda: And Mom, too, I think.
Matthew: No, not yet. I mean, this whole thing may just blow over.
Amanda: I hardly think so. Come on, the more I hear about it, Sam, the more I think we should just go to the police.
Sam: No. I don't think you should call the police. Call the police --
Amanda: Don't you think he already knows that? Look at the car.
Sam: The car could be --
Sam: I'd wait. I know that you guys cannot expect the worst all the time.
Matthew: Yes, I agree with that. I mean, if we just relax, stay in town, this whole thing will blow over.
Courtney: I'm glad you decided to come in with me. You know, the family will make this easier.
Lisa: Hmm, well, I didn't see Vicky's car out there and Bridget's a sweetheart.
Bridget: Oh, my. Oh, Lisa!
Lisa: Hi, Bridget.
Bridget: Hello there.
Bridget: Come in. Yes, come in.
Lisa: This is Courtney Walker. She's a new detective with Bay City Police.
Bridget: Oh, I'm very happy to meet you.
Courtney: And you. The reason why we're here is about Mikey.
Bridget: What about him?
Lisa: We'd like to borrow the clothes he was wearing when Sam found him in the street.
Bridget: Oh, well, you're too late for that.
Bridget: Well, Victoria -- she threw them away, well, the day she brought the baby home.
Jamie: Oh, I'm just shooting off at the mouth, Vicky, and acting stupid.
Vicky: No, you're not, Jamie. You're talking about your feelings here. That's very, very important. You know who told me that?
Vicky: I knew you were a smart guy.
Vicky: Jamie, there is something I do want to say, though, and this is no joke. I wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for you.
Jamie: You don't know that.
Vicky: Yes, I do know that, Jamie. When I was in my coma, you never gave up hope -- ever. And I'm well right now -- that's got to show you what you can accomplish. And I'm alive and I will never stop being grateful and thankful for that.
Jamie: How do you do it?
Vicky: Do what?
Jamie: Make me feel good about myself?
Jamie: Vicky --
Jamie: Thank you.

Drew: You know, I never stopped thinking about you. Nicole, look at me. Tell me. Did you ever think about me? You know, I can give you all the things in the world.
Nicole: Oh, Drew. I never wanted things.
Drew: I never should've taken you so lightly. I was a fool.
Nicole: I don't want to look back anymore. There's a part of me that still hurts.
Drew: I don't want to hurt you.
Nicole: Oh, I know that.
Drew: Look, give me time to prove how good it can be. I'll do whatever it takes to make you mine. I want you to marry me.
