Mac: Sam Fowler and Mitch Blake are brothers?
Liz: You didn't know?
Mac: No, I didn't.
Liz: Well, I'm sorry. I thought you must.
Mac: Let me see that.
Liz: Well, I was looking through insurance files to familiarize myself with --
Mac: "Beneficiary, Mitch Blake. Relationship, brother." I just don't believe this!
Liz: Neither of them told you?
Mac: Not a word. All this time they've been working for me, neither one of them said a thing.
Liz: What are you going to do, Mac?
Mac: I'm going to demand an explanation, that's what I'm going to do. Michelle, you know where Sam Fowler is? Well, call him and tell him I want to see him right now.
Liz: But what about Mitch Blake?
Mac: I'll get to him later. Nobody is going to lie to me anymore.
Cass: Do you believe what I'm telling you now or not?
Nicole: Oh, it's just so crazy.
Cass: Think back. Think of Rex's behavior, the little things that weren't like me.
Nicole: I never knew you that well.
Cass: Felicia believes that I'm telling the truth.
Nicole: So you say. I didn't hear her end of the phone conversation.
Cass: Oh, man, I can't believe this. Rex has been impersonating me all these months and you never suspected a thing?
Nicole: Well, there wasn't any reason to.
Cass: I guess not.
Nicole: If only you had some proof.
Cass: You want proof? I'll get you proof.
Cass: An eyewitness. There's a guy who saw me steal that motorcycle while Rex was with you at the church.
Nicole: Well, how are you going to find this guy?
Cass: I'm not. Felicia and Wally are going to. They'll help me. They have to.
Mitch: Were you on the phone with Cass just now?
Felicia: Mitch, you're yelling at me.
Mitch: I am not yelling.
Felicia: I mean, as upset as I am about everything --
Mitch: Are you going to answer my question or not?
Felicia: Well, you do trust me, don't you?
Mitch: What has that got --
Felicia: Well, I've never lied to you before, have I?
Mitch: No. Not until today.
Felicia: Maybe you've forgotten that the police are looking for him.
Mitch: A woman has been killed.
Felicia: And Cass didn't do it.
Mitch: Oh, no? You don't know that.
Felicia: Listen, if you just let me explain everything to you, I could.
Mitch: Well, fine. Please do.
Wally: You guys aren't going to believe this.
Mitch: Just a minute, Wally. Just wait a minute.
Felicia: You're being awfully rude, you know that.
Mitch: Look, why don't you just talk to me?
Mitch: I'm trying to keep you out of trouble.
Felicia: Wally, go on.
Wally: Talk about trouble --
Mitch: Wally, will you just please wait?
Felicia: Go on, Wally.
Wally: Ok. Well, I got a hot tip.
Mitch: Wally, no tips, no races, no horses.
Wally: Will you shut up? This has to do with you.
Mitch: With me?
Wally: I have a friend who hangs around police headquarters.
Felicia: Does he know anything about Cass?
Wally: Sort of. He knows an awful lot about those photographs that were stolen from your room.
Mitch: The ones of the crash?
Wally: The police found them along with that bracelet that you were going to give to Felicia.
Wally: Well, word is that they found them in a security deposit box.
Felicia: But what does that have to do with -- oh, no.
Wally: I hate it as much as you do, Felicia. But that safety deposit box was registered to the name of Cass Winthrop.
You are my way
you are my way
to another world
to another world
you are the one who lets me fly so high you are the rain when my spirits run dry
you give my life
you give my life
a hope that's real
'cause when I'm with you, you take me away to another world
Felicia: I mean, this obviously is a mistake.
Wally: That's what I heard, Felicia.
Felicia: Why would Cass steal my bracelet?
Mitch: Why would he steal photographs of a plane crash that I took?
Felicia: Well, maybe it wasn't him.
Mitch: Or maybe there was something in the photographs that he wanted to cover up because it would damage him.
Wally: Like what?
Mitch: Didn't his wife die in that crash?
Felicia: Oh, no. No, you don't, Mitch.
Mitch: Look, he's already been accused of killing another woman.
Felicia: Cass didn't kill anyone.
Mitch: You don't know that. You might have to face the facts.
Felicia: Nobody even knows what the facts are yet.
Mitch: The facts -- he stole photographs of pictures that I took.
Felicia: Boy, I love the way you're jumping to conclusions on this.
Mitch: What conclusions? It's obvious.
Felicia: You know, there's probably a very logical explanation for all of this.
Mitch: Is that what he just told you on the phone?
Wally: You mean Cass called? Where is he?
Felicia: I don't know, Wally. I don't know.
Mitch: I want you to go to the police.
Felicia: No, Cass needs time --
Mitch: To what? To what? Get away?
Felicia: No -- to prove that he didn't kill anyone, Mitch.
Mitch: Is that what you just bought?
Felicia: I don't know why you won't let me explain this to you.
Mitch: Why don't you go explain it to Adam?
Felicia: No, not until -- I can't. What -- where are you going?
Mitch: I'm going to see --
Felicia: Wait, Mitch.
Mitch: That you don't get involved in this.
Felicia: You know, you have no say in what I do. I'm sorry. If you'd only let me explain everything to you --
Mitch: Whether you like it or not, I'm not going to let you get involved.
Felicia: Darn it. Darn it. Darn it!
Wally: Felicia, what did Cass say?
Felicia: Oh, if Mitch wasn't so -- wasn't so pigheaded! I mean, I would tell him the whole story. I would.
Wally: Why don't you tell me?
Felicia: Ok, Wally. Sit down. Now, Wally, I know -- it's ok, it's ok. I'm ok. I know that this is going to sound pretty far-fetched, honey.
Wally: Don't you worry about that, because at this point, I'll believe anything.
Felicia: All right. Cass isn't Cass.
Wally: Could you say that again?
Felicia: All right, the Cass that we know, the Cass that we love, our Cass, when he called just now, he explained to me that the Cass that we've been seeing isn't him.
Wally: Well, who is he?
Felicia: It's somebody that's impersonating Cass.
Felicia: Yes. This phony Cass is the one who killed that woman. He's the one that probably stole Mitch's photographs and my bracelet.
Wally: Oh, now -- you mean the guy that I've been hanging around with and gambling with and laughing with --
Felicia: Yes, he's an impostor.
Wally: Honey, you're right. It is far-fetched.
Felicia: No, no, Wally. Please, sit down. I know. I know it was -- it was hard for me to believe at first, too, but just think about it for a minute. Just think. All these months we've been saying, you know, how strange Cass has been acting, right?
Felicia: I mean, he keeps forgetting things like dates, and he makes mistakes legally.
Wally: He didn't even know loaded dice, right.
Felicia: That's right.
Wally: But, Felicia, why would anybody want to impersonate him?
Felicia: I don't know. I mean, he didn't have time to tell me that.
Wally: Ok, where is he?
Felicia: He didn't say, but I know that he's with Nicole.
Wally: Nicole? Is she all right?
Felicia: She's fine. He's just trying to convince her that he's not a murderer.
Wally: Well, Felicia, this is awfully hard to believe.
Felicia: I know that. I know, but just -- just think about it for a minute. If -- if something like this, so weird like this, would happen to anybody that you know in the world, who would that be?
Felicia: Ok. So, I believe him.
Wally: Well, that's good enough for me. So what do we do?
Felicia: Ok, we got to prove that there's an impostor.
Felicia: Come on.
Wally: How are we going to do that?
Felicia: All right, now listen. We have to prove that there are two Casses in two different places at the same time.
Wally: Ok, but how are we going to do it?
Felicia: All right. Our Cass came to that wedding in a motorcycle that he had stolen just a half an hour before.
Wally: While the real Cass was already there at the church.
Felicia: Right. And someone spotted our Cass stealing that motorcycle.
Wally: Hotdog! Where?
Felicia: White Oak Avenue. Now, honey, if we can find this eyewitness, we can clear Cass.
Wally: Felicia, I've been to that neighborhood. Nobody there's going to talk to the cops.
Felicia: Yes, but they may talk to you, right?
Wally: Ok, I'll make sure they do.
Felicia: All right, now listen. I think Mitch is going to the police.
Wally: Ok, well, I'll be fast about it.
Felicia: Honey, please find this eyewitness. Cass' life depends on it, all right?
Wally: Felicia, I will find him, ok? Now you just stay calm.
Felicia: Calm. I have to stay calm. I can stay calm.
Cass: I'd go find the guy myself, but --
Nicole: There really is a Rex?
Cass: I swear there is.
Nicole: I still don't understand why you just don't go to the police.
Cass: Because I'm not going to have any more luck convincing them than I've had with you. I'd be in a cell. He'd be out of the country.
Nicole: But why can't I go? I mean, why do I have to stay here?
Cass: Well, for one thing, I don't trust you not to go to the police. And for another, and more importantly, you're a target, too.
Cass: You saw Rex murder Monique.
Nicole: Oh. This isn't making me feel better.
Cass: I don't know. Maybe I should let you go.
Cass: Yeah, really. You'd be safer with the police until Rex is caught.
Nicole: Can I go now?
Cass: As soon as I can safely get you to the police, all right?
Cass: But in the meantime, isn't there anything that you can remember, anything unusual about him?
Nicole: He was exactly like you.
Cass: No, no. You told me that he liked horseback riding and he spoke French fluently. That's not exactly like me. Now think!
Nicole: Ok. Yeah, there were some things.
Cass: What things?
Nicole: Well, we all said it'd been because of Kathleen's death.
Cass: No one could fake the way I felt when I heard that she died. No one.
Nicole: Say I do believe your story.
Cass: It's the truth.
Nicole: Well, what will you do if and when you find this Rex Allingham?
Cass: What would you do if someone murdered the only person you ever loved?
Michelle: I left a message on Sam's answering machine.
Mac: Thank you. When he gets back to you, tell him I want to see him right away. Probably lucky I can't get my hands on him.
Liz: Will you take it easy, Mac?
Mac: No wonder he's so hard to get along with. It's a family trait. Amanda --
Mac: She thinks she's falling in love with Sam Fowler. I tell you, if he's lying to her, too --
Liz: Amanda's in love with Sam Fowler?
Mac: I'm going to strangle the man.
Liz: Mac, you have to calm down!
Mac: I don't want to calm down.
Liz: Right. I'll be outside if you need me.
Mac: I don't know how they thought they could get away with this.
Rachel: You ready for lunch?
Mac: I'm sorry, darling. I'm just going to have to cancel.
Rachel: What is it, Mac?
Mac: Well, I really hate to tell you, I'm so furious about it.
Mac: I have just learned that Sam Fowler and Mitch Blake are brothers.
Rachel: How did you --
Mac: Liz saw it on Sam's beneficiary form. He listed Mitch as brother.
Rachel: Mac, I --
Mac: You realize the two of them have been lying to me all this time and kept it from me?
Rachel: Mac, I have something to tell you.
Mac: Doesn't any of this surprise you at all?
Rachel: Um -- as a matter of fact, I -- I don't really know how to say this, but --
Mac: Don't tell me that you knew it all along.
Wally: Felicia, I've got something --
Felicia: Keep your voice down, Wally.
Wally: What's he doing here?
Felicia: First I thought Mitch had sent him, but they told me that he's looking for John Hudson?
Wally: What for?
Felicia: I don't know. Come on, sit down. Tell me what happened. Did you find our eyewitness?
Wally: Well, sort of. I went to a bar near where Cass supposedly stole that motorcycle.
Wally: Well, the bartender said that he had seen a customer in there who had mentioned that he had seen someone who looked like Cass who had stolen a motorcycle the other day.
Wally: I don't know, he wouldn't tell me.
Felicia: You didn't offer him a bribe?
Wally: Of course I offered him a bribe. I offered him 100 bucks. That's usually enough on White Oak Avenue.
Felicia: All right. Oh, Bobby, come here. Come here. How much we got here? Oh, good, all right. Now, put it on my account. All right, honey, this should -- this should loosen his lips up.
Wally: Oh, yeah, I'll try again.
Felicia: Now, listen, you've got to find this eyewitness. I mean, it's the only way we can prove that Cass is really Cass.
Wally: Felicia, I could use a little proof myself.
Felicia: Why? You don't believe Cass?
Wally: Well, I want to, honey, but --
Felicia: Now, look, try and remember all the times that we thought that Cass was acting so odd, remember?
Wally: Yes, but we thought it was because of Kathleen's death.
Felicia: Yes, but it's not. It was an impostor. Don't you see that? And, boy, would I like to get my hands on this guy.
Wally: You're going to have to stand on line.
Felicia: Well, first things first. Please, go find the eyewitness, please.
Wally: Ok, ok, I'm on my way.
Felicia: Thank you.
Wally: John, get out!
John: What? What?
Wally: Get -- get --
Officer: You John Hudson?
Officer: You're under arrest.
John: For what?
Officer: Narcotics smuggling.
Wally: That's ridiculous!
Officer: Listen, it'll go a lot better if you don't make any trouble.
John: All right, let's go.
Wally: John, you want me to call Michael?
John: No. No, I'll -- I'll handle this.
Wally: Has the whole world gone mad?
Adam: Look, don't give me any excuses, just make sure that paperwork's done by 4:00! Is that the coroner's report on Monique Barejacques?
Val: Yeah, and some more information on who she is.
Mitch: I need to talk to you, Adam.
Adam: I'm a little busy right now, Mitch.
Mitch: I know, but it's important.
Adam: All right. Thanks, Val. What is it?
Mitch: Look -- uh -- I want to see that Felicia has some sort of police protection.
Mitch: "Why?" I mean, look, if there's any other way to deal with this, I would deal with it, but --
Adam: Go on.
Mitch: Cass contacted Felicia.
Mitch: Well, he called a little while ago at Tops.
Adam: Did he say where he was?
Mitch: Well, she didn't say anything.
Adam: What did he want?
Mitch: Well, she wouldn't tell me that, either. I mean, in fact, she wouldn't even say that it was Cass calling.
Adam: How did you know it was him, then?
Mitch: Cass is good friends with Felicia. She's very loyal to her friends.
Adam: Look, Mitch, she better stay out of this one.
Mitch: Yes, I understand that.
Adam: This guy has already killed one woman.
Mitch: I know that. That's why I'm asking you, will you give her some sort of police protection?
Adam: All right, you got it.
Mitch: Look, what if he tries to contact her?
Adam: Then we'll get him.
Mitch: I don't want her getting caught in the middle of anything.
Adam: Mitch, I promise you, we'll do our best.
Mitch: Just don't let anything happen to her.
Adam: I want you to get down to Tops. Bring in Felicia Gallant.
Val: You got it.
Cass: He's out there somewhere.
Nicole: You said you'd release me.
Cass: Rex could try to kill you.
Nicole: So I'll take my chances.
Cass: You still don't believe me, do you?
Nicole: Look, I just want to get out of here.
Cass: I can't let you go until you come up with something, anything that'll prove that we're two different people.
Nicole: Look, I told you everything.
Cass: Think. There has to be something.
Nicole: I can't -- I'm too confused to think.
Cass: I know you're tired, but this means my life.
Nicole: What do you want to know?
Cass: Anything. Was there someplace that you went together where he might be hiding now?
Nicole: Yeah, we did spend a few days at an inn in the country, the Indian Creek.
Cass: I know that place.
Nicole: That's where he saved my life.
Cass: Tell me about that. What happened?
Nicole: Well, my horse threw me and I was dazed, and then this truck was coming right -- wait a minute, you -- you already know this!
Cass: I don't know this, Rex knows this!
Nicole: Well, why would you say -- I mean, why would he -- yeah, why would he save my life if he wanted me dead like you say?
Cass: He wanted to make you trust him, didn't he? And that's what happened, isn't it?
Nicole: Oh, yeah, I never thought of it.
Cass: I mean, how much later was it that you agreed to marry him?
Nicole: The same day.
Cass: You see? He did all of that so that you'd marry him and he'd get the trust fund money. Then he'd have a reason --
Nicole: But still, you know --
Cass: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Nicole: What is it?
Cass: That truck has been parked out there an awfully long time.
Nicole: Well, maybe it's the police.
Cass: Yeah, maybe.
Nicole: Well, who else could it be?
Cass: Only someone who knows the combination to this lock can get in here. And that's either me or Rex Allingham.
Rachel: I can explain, Mac.
Mac: This whole time you knew that Sam and Mitch were brothers?
Rachel: Well, they're half brothers, actually.
Mac: What difference does that make? I want to know why you lied to me!
Rachel: I was going to tell you.
Mac: When? After the whole complex knew about it?
Rachel: Mac, I was the one that tried to keep you from hiring Sam.
Mac: You are the one who recommended him to me in the first place and you never stopped talking about how talented he was!
Rachel: Yeah, that's the problem -- he is very talented. He's been a major asset to the magazine.
Mac: Rachel, I don't give a darn about his assets! I want to know why you lied to me!
Rachel: Well, for one thing, I wasn't sure you would hire him if you knew. I mean, we really needed him to fill that position.
Mac: Well, that's ridiculous! Why wouldn't I hire him? I hired Mitch, didn't I?
Rachel: Yeah, and you didn't want to and he's had to work doubly hard to prove himself.
Mac: Everybody who works here has to prove themselves, Rachel.
Rachel: Oh, come on, Mac, you know as well as I do it's been different for Mitch.
Mac: Well, considering the damage he did to me and my family, I think I've been darn fair to the man!
Rachel: Yes, you have.
Mac: Yes, so don't try to put the blame off on me.
Rachel: I'm sorry, I should've told you.
Mac: I just -- I just don't understand why you felt like you had to deceive me.
Rachel: Because I thought you'd be prejudiced.
Rachel: Mac, he's talented. I just wanted you to see that talent before you decided --
Mac: And you thought that I would let my feelings distort my opinion of his work?
Rachel: Well, look at the way you're reacting to the fact that Sam and Mitch are brothers.
Mac: I'm not reacting to the fact they're brothers! I'm reacting to the fact that I was lied to by you and by them! Now, I thought the lying was over between me and you. I thought that now we trust each other.
Rachel: I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you, Mac, and then time kept going by and I didn't know how.
Mac: Yeah. So then you just didn't bother.
Rachel: I was going to tell you today.
Mac: Well, now it all suddenly becomes very clear.
Mac: Why all those times you invariably sided with Sam.
Rachel: That's not true. I haven't treated him any differently than I've treated anybody else around here.
Mac: In protecting his brother, you protected your ex-lover --
Rachel: Mac, no!
Mac: By lying to your husband. So, Rachel, where does that leave you and me now? Hmm?
John: What the hell is this all about?
Adam: Kovacs, you can go. Sit down.
John: What's this about a drug-smuggling charge, Cory?
Adam: Just calm down.
John: I should never have agreed to help you guys.
Adam: Chill out. Just chill out and listen to me for a second. We picked up four guys on your boat, including Frank Rafferty.
John: I let him use my boat because you asked me to as part of our famous plan, remember?
Adam: Well, it worked.
John: So what am I doing here?
Adam: Well, the gang thought you were helping them. If we had been too solicitous to you, we would've blown your cover.
John: Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. What cover? This was a one-shot deal.
Adam: Listen, thanks to you, we nailed one of the biggest drug dealers around, a guy who was selling drugs to Vietnam vets.
John: Look, I agreed to do this so that you could nail the guy. You did, now I am out of it!
Adam: There are more like him, John, selling drugs to vets, to kids!
John: Well, that's your problem, pal!
Felicia: All right, Adam, what's this about?
Adam: Just a minute, Felicia. You can go, but you think about what I said.
John: Forget it. You hear me? Forget it.
Felicia: Mitch put you up to this, didn't he, Adam?
Adam: Felicia, did you get a phone call from Cass Winthrop?
Felicia: I don't believe that. Mitch did talk to you, didn't he?
Adam: Did you or didn't you?
Felicia: He had no right to say anything --
Adam: That man is wanted for murder, Felicia!
Felicia: He didn't do it! He told me!
Felicia: Ok. Ok. All right, he called me.
Adam: What did he say?
Felicia: You're going to think this is a little confusing. In fact, you're probably not even going to believe it at first.
Adam: What did he say, Felicia?
Felicia: There are two Casses.
Felicia: Now, Adam, listen to me. I know it sounds a little strange, but Cass told me. I mean, the real Cass told me that he's been held prisoner for several months now, and this other Cass, this impersonator, wanted to marry Nicole Love so he could get her trust fund money. Now, this -- this fake Cass, this -- well, his name is Rex Allingham -- now, he looks just like Cass, he --
Adam: Wait a minute, wait, wait, wait, wait. What did you say his name was?
Felicia: Rex Allingham. What? What, Adam?
Adam: I want you to run down a name for me -- Rex Allingham.
Felicia: Does -- does this mean you believe me?
Adam: We found a safety deposit box that was registered in the name of Cass Winthrop.
Felicia: I heard. I'm sorry, I can't reveal my sources.
Adam: Well, in it, amongst other things, was a man's watch. On the back of the watch were two initials -- "R.A."
Felicia: Rex Allingham? I knew it, Adam.
Adam: Felicia --
Felicia: I knew it.
Adam: It could just be an alias that Cass uses.
Felicia: It could mean that Cass is telling the truth, right?
Adam: I need more proof.
Felicia: But, Adam --
Wally: I found him!
Felicia: This is our proof. Tell him.
Adam: Now, what's all this about?
Wally: I got the name of a guy who saw the real Cass steal a motorcycle at White Oak Avenue.
Felicia: Which means that the fake Cass, this Rex guy, was at the church, Adam!
Wally: You see, there are two Casses.
Wally: Here's the guy's name.
Felicia: Oh, honey.
Adam: All right. All right, I'll bring this guy in.
Felicia: So I guess that proves that we're not crazy, right?
Wally: I wouldn't say that. But it does prove that there are two Casses.
Vince: Don't you look good.
Diane: Thanks. Glad you could meet me. I know you're working.
Vince: Yeah, well, I always have time for you. So, how was your thanksgiving?
Diane: Fine. Yours?
Vince: It was fine, terrific.
Diane: Anything you want to tell me about?
Vince: Uh -- I ate too much, as usual.
Diane: That's it?
Vince: Yeah, well, what else?
Diane: Vince, I know you and Mary spent the day together.
Vince: Oh, well, that just happened -- ahem. We were just both invited to the same dinner.
Diane: Oh. And you weren't going to tell me about it?
Vince: Probably not. I didn't want to upset you.
Diane: Oh, Vince, I've got to be honest, ok? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't upset.
Vince: Look, we just had --
Diane: Let me finish, ok? I know you care about me.
Vince: Sure, I do.
Diane: I know that you don't want to hurt me.
Vince: Listen, there is nothing going on between Mary and me.
Diane: Good. Then we can talk about our future together.
Vince: Our what?
Diane: Us getting married.
Vince: Oh, yeah, that. Yeah.
Diane: Have you thought about it?
Vince: Hmm -- mm-hmm.
Vince: Well -- uh -- well, to be honest, I'm -- I'm not very good at being married.
Diane: Vince, just because it didn't work out once doesn't mean that --
Vince: I only planned to do it once. Look, things are perfect between us just the way they are. Why ruin it?
Cass: That truck worries me. Maybe I should call Felicia again.
Nicole: Could I just leave, please?
Cass: I'm sorry. I know this is rough for you.
Nicole: I've been in this wedding dress for over a day now and I haven't had any sleep.
Cass: I know. I'm sorry.
Nicole: Look, I want to help you. I really do. I'll even go to the police station with you.
Cass: They wouldn't believe me without evidence.
Nicole: Well, if what you're saying is true, the cops will prove it. They have lots of resources --
Nicole: What? What?
Cass: Shh. Quiet.
Nicole: Is somebody at the door?
Cass: Quiet! - Creepy things.- Squiggly things.
Nicole: It's true.
Rex: Bit of a shock, eh? This world isn't big enough for two Cass Winthrops. In fact, my world isn't big enough for one Cass Winthrop.
Rex: You should never have interfered.
Nicole: I'll kill you! No! Let me go! Stop!
Rex: And here I thought you loved me, Nicole.
Nicole: You rotten creep!
Rex: Au revoir, Nicole. It's been fun. Oh!
Cass: You ok?
Nicole: Yeah -- Cass -- wait, wait! I'm sorry I didn't believe you.
Cass: Forget about that now, there's no time for it. Go tell the police everything you know.
Diane: To tell you the truth, Vince, I'm not happy with the way things are.
Vince: We have fun when we're together.
Diane: When we're together. We hardly ever see one another, Vince. And when we do see one another, it's when you decide.
Vince: Well, then maybe we should see more of each other.
Diane: No. That's not what I mean. You and I think differently.
Vince: I thought we agree on a lot of stuff.
Diane: I mean about what we want in this relationship. I'm tired of being just a convenience. I want to be your wife. I want us to have a good future together.
Vince: I can't -- I can't promise you that, Diane.
Diane: Vince, you and I have known each other for a long time.
Vince: Well, then you know that me and marriage just don't work out.
Diane: That's not true. You care about your family, don't you?
Vince: Of course I do.
Diane: And when you and Mary were first married, I mean, it was good then, wasn't it?
Vince: Well, I thought it was, but I was wrong.
Diane: No, no, you weren't wrong. What was wrong was -- Mary was what was wrong.
Vince: I don't -- I don't want to get into this. Not again.
Diane: I want a chance at what Mary had a chance at. I think I deserve it.
Vince: I do, too. And I'm sorry that I can't promise you more.
Diane: So am I. I'm tired of settling. I want it all.
Vince: Diane -- Diane, wait.
Rachel: This has nothing to do with me protecting Mitch.
Mac: Oh, come on, Rachel. Why else would you go out of your way so far to protect a lowly layout artist?
Rachel: He's not just a layout artist, Mac, he's very talented.
Mac: Would you have championed him so much if he hadn't been Mitch's brother?
Mac: No, I doubt it. I wonder.
Rachel: Mac, I wanted him to have a chance to prove himself to you.
Mac: Well, couldn't he do that on his own merits? Am I such an ogre?
Rachel: No. I should've told you, I was wrong not to. But Felicia introduced you to Sam and then you hired him. I didn't have a chance.
Mac: Well, you've had lots of chances since.
Rachel: I wish you could forgive me.
Mac: Oh, déja vu! How many times have I heard that in the past?
Rachel: Oh, come on, we're not going to dredge up the past again, are we?
Mac: Well, why shouldn't we? You're behaving just like you used to in the past -- you're manipulating people, you're lying so that you can have everything your own way.
Rachel: I can't believe you're saying this.
Mac: And I can't believe you'd risk ruining what we have together by lying for Mitch Blake again.
Rachel: Now, just a minute, Mac. I love you. I'm not going to let this destroy our marriage and what we mean to each other.
Mac: It's things like this that make me think I mean nothing to you.
Rachel: Mac --
Mac: I think we just better stop this discussion right now before I say something that I'm really going to regret.
Rachel: Mac, we have to talk about this.
Mac: What I have to do right now is say some things to Sam Fowler.
Rachel: All right, well, at least think about Amanda's feelings before you light into Sam Fowler.
Mac: Amanda? Why?
Rachel: She is very serious about him.
Mac: Well, she can just get unserious about him. (Applause and cheer)
Rachel: You don't expect Amanda to break up with Sam over this, do you?
Mac: The man's a liar.
Rachel: Mac, he was going to tell you.
Mac: Oh, yeah, just like you were and like Mitch? Well, he didn't. He just kept on pretending he was someone he wasn't.
Rachel: Well, what do you think Amanda is doing? She's parading around here being Mandy Ashton. That's lying, isn't it?
Mac: Oh, that's different.
Rachel: Why? Because she isn't deceiving you?
Mac: No, because she's not manipulating people, she's not hurting anybody.
Rachel: How do you know? Sam has absolutely no idea who she is. Don't you think that just might hurt him?
Mac: You've been more concerned about his feelings all along than mine.
Rachel: Right now, I'm concerned about Amanda's feelings. She loves him, Mac.
Mac: Oh, she's too young to know who she's in love with.
Rachel: Mac, you were the one that just wanted to ask him over for dinner!
Mac: Well, you can be sure I'm not going to do it now.
Rachel: Please think of Amanda's feelings, Mac.
Mac: Rachel, I didn't start this. If Sam had any integrity at all, he would've been honest in the first place and none of this would've happened!
Rachel: You can't order her not to see Sam.
Mac: As far as I'm concerned, Sam and Mitch are cut out of the same cloth and I do not want my daughter involved with him!
Rachel: Mac, she's just going to want to see him even more.
Mac: I'll deal with Amanda later. Right now I've got a few things to say to Sam Fowler.
Rachel: Mac, don't do this!
Mac: I trusted you, Rachel. I --
Val: Art Collins, sergeant.
Felicia: Great. You can really help us. There's this guy by the name of Cass Winthrop --
Wally: Yeah, you saw him steal a motorcycle --
Felicia: On White Oak Avenue.
Wally: Adam, ask him --
Adam: I'll ask the questions, ok?
Felicia: Of course, Adam.
Wally: I'm sorry.
Felicia: Yes, of course. Sorry.
Adam: Come in, sit down. Mr. Collins, you're not under arrest, I just need for you to identify --
Art: No, I don't know anything.
Felicia: Of course you do. This --
Adam: Felicia --
Felicia: He had dark hair, he stole a motorcycle --
Adam: Felicia --
Art: I want to see a lawyer.
Adam: You recognize this man?
Adam: Mr. Collins, I understand the officer picked you up in a crap game. Is that correct?
Art: Yeah. Got something against games of chance?
Adam: No, no, not at all. I just was wondering what your probation officer might think about that.
Art: All right. All right. All right.
Adam: Now do you remember this man?
Adam: Did you see him steal a motorcycle off White Oak Avenue the other day?
Art: Look, I -- I really don't feel like ratting on this guy, ok?
Felicia: No, no, you'd be -- you'd be helping him. Really, you would.
Adam: Ahem. Did you see him steal a motorcycle off White Oak Avenue the other day?
Adam: What time?
Adam: That's pretty exact.
Art: I know because I get off my shift at 3:30.
Wally: That -- well, that means it must've been Cass.
Adam: What did you see?
Art: I saw that guy hop on some messenger's motorcycle and he tore off.
Adam: You're sure?
Art: Positive. I remember because I -- I thought what a great bike he ripped off.
Adam: Val, I want you to take this man's statement. You can go as soon as you're done. Just don't leave town. We're still going to want to talk to you.
Felicia: Thank you so very much, really. Thank you.
Art: That's the first time I ever got thanked for squealing.
Felicia: Well, Adam, doesn't that prove that Cass is telling the truth? I mean, there really is an impostor.
Adam: I don't know, Felicia, this is all pretty unbelievable.
Wally: Oh, come on, Adam. Now, that guy just said he saw the real Cass on White Oak Avenue at 3:35. At that very minute, Rex was in the church.
Felicia: Right. And nobody can be in two places at one time, not even Cass.
Adam: Look, I would really like to believe Cass, I really would.
Felicia: Well, then what's stopping you?
Adam: Why hasn't he turned himself in? And why is he still holding Nicole?
Nicole: What are you doing?
Cass: I'm trying to start the car.
Nicole: Oh, you lose the key?
Cass: The owner has the key.
Nicole: Ugh -- you're not going to steal this car --
Cass: I told you to go to the police.
Nicole: No, I want to help you.
Cass: Well, then get out of here so I can concentrate on starting the car.
Nicole: Oh, you can't steal the car!
Cass: What's the big deal? I'm already accused of murder.
Nicole: I'll help you.
Cass: No, he's too dangerous.
Nicole: Hey, I got through the past few months with him, didn't I?
Cass: He fooled you, didn't he?
Nicole: Yeah, he fooled me. He lied to me. He tried to kill me for my money. God, when I get my hands on that son of a --
Cass: I'll handle it!
Nicole: Look, Cass, I know you've got an ax to grind with him, but so do I. We are in this together.
Felicia's voice: You know, you'll forgive me for saying this, but I don't understand what the big deal is.
Rachel's voice: The big deal is I just lied to Mac.
Mitch's voice: You didn't lie to Mac. You just didn't say that Sam's my brother.
Rachel: It's the same thing. I can't believe you did this. I really can't believe this.
Felicia: Rachel, Mac came in here asking for Sam. I think this kid deserves the job.
Rachel: And I didn't deserve your confidence?
Felicia: No, you're the one that took it away from him once, remember?
Rachel: Of course I did! I wasn't going to lie to Mac. I was just going to sort of avoid the whole issue. I mean, how could I give that job to Sam? As soon as I did, Mac would think I gave it to him because of Mitch.
Felicia: No, he would not. He would know the truth. He's seen Sam's credentials.
Rachel: I should've said something. I should've said something right away.
[Knock on door]
Liz: What's wrong?
Liz: I know this is none of my business, but why change now? You and Mac had a fight.
Rachel: We said things to each other that we haven't said in many years.
Liz: I've looked through his appointment book. He is really overworked.
Rachel: It has nothing to do with work, Liz. It has to do with Sam and Mitch being brothers.
Liz: Oh, that's not your fault!
Rachel: It's my fault I didn't tell him.
Liz: You knew?
Rachel: I've known all along. I was going to tell him. I meant to.
Liz: I can't believe I did this on my very first day back.
Rachel: What, Liz?
Liz: This is all my fault. I never should've shown Mac that file!
Rachel: It's not your fault, Liz. It's my fault. I should've told him from the beginning.
Liz: Mac is -- is very understanding.
Rachel: Well, there are limits to even Mac's understanding.
Liz: You've been through so much. You've stayed together.
Rachel: We've been very close. He was just starting to trust me. Now I did this.
Liz: Something I can do?
Rachel: I'd just like to be alone, Liz.
Liz: Rachel? Mac loves you.
Rachel: And I love him.
Adam: All right, look, I want an A.P.B. out on Cass Winthrop and Rex Allingham. Allingham may be dangerous. You get that A.P.B. out immediately.
Felicia: So what happens now, Adam?
Adam: Well, now we pick up Cass or Rex -- preferably both.
Wally: Adam, they won't shoot, will they?
Adam: Not unless they have to.
Felicia: But what if they shoot at Cass? They won't be able to tell the difference.
Mitch: I know you're angry at me.
Felicia: I have better things to do right now. I'm trying to clear Cass' name.
Adam: Apparently somebody has been impersonating Cass Winthrop.
Felicia: He's innocent. I knew it.
Adam: The guy that you thought was Cass is really some character named Rex Allingham.
Felicia: I would've told you the whole story.
Mitch: When? I mean, this is kind of hard to believe.
Adam: We've got eyewitnesses. We got a guy who saw Cass in one place while Rex was still at the wedding.
Felicia: Killing that woman. I knew he didn't do it. I knew it.
Adam: Look, I've got work to do, in case you can't imagine.
Felicia: Well, you will let us know the moment you hear anything, right?
Adam: Yes, I will. And you will let me know if you hear from Cass again, won't you, Felicia?
Felicia: I will. I will, Adam. Thank you. Excuse me.
Mitch: Why didn't you let me know what was going on?
Felicia: Because I didn't have any proof, and you wouldn't have believed me anyway.
Mitch: I just didn't want to see you get hurt.
Felicia: You had no right to go to the police behind my back, Mitch.
Mitch: I was trying to protect you.
Felicia: Well, I can take care of myself, thank you.
Mitch: How was I supposed to know that Cass is -- is two people?
Felicia: Well, you could've trusted me.
Mitch: Listen --
Felicia: No, no. I don't want to talk about this anymore.
Wally: Well, you're not just going to leave it at that, are you?
Mitch: Hell, no, Wally.
Cass: I can't get this stupid car started. This is getting embarrassing.
Nicole: Why don't you just go to the police?
Cass: Because Rex would be long gone by then.
Nicole: Where do you think he is?
Cass: Maybe he's at that inn that you mentioned.
Nicole: The Indian Creek?
Cass: Yeah. He's not likely to be spotted there and he can keep an eye on things.
Nicole: Well, I can show you where it is.
Nicole: Hey, I --
Cass: Tell me where it is and then I'll take you to the police station.
Nicole: No! I said I am going with you.
Cass: And I said you're not --
Cass: Come on, let's get out of here.
Officer: Hold it right there! Freeze!
Nicole: Wait! He's not who you think he is.
Cass: I'm the real Cass Winthrop.
Officer: Yeah. Yeah, you could be, or you could be Rex Allingham.
Nicole: No, he's not.
Officer: Well, whoever you are, don't move. You're under arrest for the murder of Monique Barejacques.
