Meg: It's tradition for the mother to hold the baby during the christening ceremony, Emily. And last I checked, I was still Eliza's mother.
Emily: Yeah, well, for the most part in absentia. While you were off dealing with your latest breakdown, I was the one doing most of the heavy lifting.
Meg: I was in the hospital. I was trying to get better for my daughter.
Paul: Okay, why don't we try and stay on point here.
Emily: Sure, sure, as long as you tell Meg she's being selfish and controlling.
Emma: Are you all right, Sweetheart?
Meg: Except for being furious, yes, I'm fine.
Emily: Fine? You're -- you don't seem fine to me. I mean, you weren't earlier. You practically threw a fit when you thought you heard Eliza crying.
Paul: You were a little anxious.
Meg: I -- I'm fine, okay, really. Why doesn't anybody believe me?
Emily: Oh, gosh, let me think about that for a minute. Why don't we believe her?
Emma: Sweetheart, you seem a little flushed. Come on, let's -- let's go put a little cold water on our face.
Meg: I have every right to hold my daughter in front of the minister. And shame on you for taking that away from me.
Emma: Meg -- [Groans] I'm not trying to take anything away from her. But you have to admit she's been acting a little strange.
Paul: So maybe we should postpone the ceremony.
Emily: No. Whether we have the ceremony today or tomorrow or next month, it's not gonna make a difference. We both know that she was released from Deerbrook way too soon. The woman is obviously falling apart, Paul.
Paul: Yeah. So why does it sound like that's exactly what you want?
Richard: You okay?
Noah: Yeah. I was just, um -- who is that who's in there with Luke?
Richard: That's your doctor, Dude.
Noah: That's Dr. Oliver?
Richard: Told you he was hot.
Reid: I want to be alone with you.
Luke: This is all happening so fast.
Reid: And that's bad why?
Luke: Noah's outside.
Reid: Uh, relax. He can't see that far. What he can see is just shapes and colors.
Luke: Noah, I didn't know you were released.
Luke: Hi, Richard.
Noah: Um, can we come in?
Luke: Oh, yeah, of course. But, um, you should know, I'm -- I'm not alone.
Noah: I know.
Casey: Thank you. Thank you for coming.
Alison: You certainly got my attention with your mysterious call. What gives?
Casey: I -- I need your help.
Casey: Well, you have access to medical directories, right, like to find a doctor or something?
Alison: Yeah. What are you looking for?
Casey: Someone named Gravid -- Gravid.
Alison: Uh, well, I mean, if he has his own practice, you don't need me. You can just look him up online.
Casey: That's the thing. I tried. I think he's new in town or something.
Alison: Okay. Well, uh, what kind of doctor is he, and why are you looking for him?
Casey: Well, can -- can you just do me a favor without asking all kinds of questions, please?
Alison: Um -- uh, when do you need to know by?
Casey: Well, five minutes ago.
Alison: Okay, well, I mean, I'm a little swamped today. I have a ton of work. And this afternoon is Eliza's christening.
Casey: It would really mean a lot if you did this for me. Come on, Ali. Ali, you kind of -- kind of owe it to me.
Alison: Yeah. Yeah, I guess I do. All right, what was the name again?
Casey: Gravid -- Dr. Gravid.
Vienna: Oh! That was fantastic.
Henry: I'll say.
Vienna: I've really missed our caped crusader games.
Vienna: Yeah, you really are my hero -- my sexy hero.
Henry: Are you, uh --
Vienna: There's just something about you in a cape.
Henry: You're, uh -- you're okay, right? You're not in, like, any kind of pain or anything? I mean, we got a little strenuous there. I didn't -- make sure it didn't hurt the baby.
Vienna: No, no, no. I told you, I told you. Dr. Gravid said it was fine for us to make love.
Henry: Okay. Gravid -- that's such a weird name. Where is he from again?
Vienna: I have no idea. But he's very delightful and caring. And we -- we didn't do anything we shouldn't have.
Henry: I just want to take care of you and my baby -- our baby.
Vienna: [Laughs] "Our baby." I love it when you say that. [Sighs] I wish we could stay here all day. But we got to get ready for your niece's christening.
[Knock on door]
Henry: Vienna, did you order room service?
Barbara: Oh, good God. I do have a knack for showing up at the worst times, don't I?
Henry: This is not what it looks like. This is exactly what it looks like.
Barbara: Don't explain, please.
Henry: Um, what can I do for you, Barbara?
Barbara: I just wanted to know if you were planning to come to Eliza's christening.
Henry: Uh, yes, I was. She is my niece.
Barbara: Good. I will see you there. But I have one small request. Please leave your fiancée at home. Vienna is most definitely not welcome.
Henry: What do you mean Vienna's not welcome?!
Barbara: [Sighs] It is a small gathering, a family affair for a family that is strained to its limits, and we don't need any unnecessary distractions.
Henry: She's not a distraction. She's my fiancée. She's carrying my baby. How much more family can you get?
Barbara: I am asking you to do this for Eliza, for your niece.
Henry: I don't think Vienna's gonna be a distraction to Eliza either. This isn't about Eliza, Barbara. This is about you, isn't it?
Barbara: So what if it is? You know, I'm gonna have enough difficulty during this christening dealing with Meg and Emily's constant bickering without having to watch Vienna drape herself all over you like a drooling teenager.
Henry: I will make sure she refrains from doing that. She will be very respectful. But she's my family, too, Barbara.
Barbara: You know, I don't really care. I'm asking you to do this for me. You and I meant a great deal to each other not very long ago. And because of that, I am asking you please, please honor my wishes.
Emily: You know what? You are being totally unfair. I'm not rooting for Meg to have another breakdown, but you can't ignore the signs that she might be heading for another one.
Paul: I'm not ignoring anything. I'm trying to look at this from all sides to make sure that Eliza gets what she needs, which is everybody getting along. And I think I have a solution.
Paul: Well, if you are Eliza's Godmother, then you get to hold her at the ceremony, and you're not taking anything away from Meg.
Emily: You mean that?
Paul: Of course I do. I think it's perfect for Eliza. It's perfect for your relationship with her. And -- and Meg can't argue with it. Everybody wins.
Emily: Thank you. Thank you. I love you.
Paul: Ah, good. Everything all right?
Emma: Yes, we're fine. We're fine.
Paul: Um, I think that I have a -- a solution to this little problem.
Paul: Well, I think that we should ask Emily to be Eliza's Godmother.
Meg: No. Absolutely not.
Vienna: Oh, no. Don't tell me you went out like that. Who were you talking to?
Vienna: Oh. And what did she want?
Henry: To tell me that the christening has been canceled.
Vienna: What? No! Why?
Henry: Oh, uh, somebody came down with something. I don't know. She wasn't very specific.
Vienna: Oh, I was so looking forward to it.
Henry: Yeah. Me too. Oh, well.
Vienna: I was gonna wear this.
Vienna: Do you like it?
Henry: Oh, I much more than like. We're gonna just have to save that for another, uh, occasion.
Vienna: It wasn't just a dress. I was just looking forward to experiencing my first America baby christening. You know, it -- it was gonna inspire me for what we can do for ours.
Henry: Yeah, I know, Baby. It's all right. We are gonna have plenty of time for that.
Alison: "Gravid." Nope. I mean, there's no record of him. You don't have a first name?
Casey: No. Maybe you spelled it wrong. Try like, uh, "E" instead of an "I."
Alison: Okay. No. Not with an "I" or an "E" or an "A" or a "Y." This Dr. Gravid hasn't registered with the AMA or the Illinois licensing board of physicians and surgeons. So, it might help if I knew what kind of doctor he was.
Casey: It -- it doesn't matter.
Alison: Does this have something to do with Vienna?
Casey: Why would you think that?
Alison: Because you're acting the same sort of weird way with this Dr. Gravid as you did when I asked you about what was going on between you and Vienna.
Casey: Okay, so this is you not asking all kinds of questions, right?
Alison: No, this is me starting to get suspicious.
Casey: Okay, Vienna said she was seeing Dr. Gravid, but she wouldn't tell me why, and I just want to make sure she's okay. Hey, maybe I got the name wrong.
Alison: Or she lied to you and gave you a fake one. Though I wouldn't know why she would do that. Anyway, it's late, and I have to get to the christening.
Casey: Yes, yes. But can you -- can you do me one more favor?
Alison: As long as it isn't illegal.
Casey: No. Just don't say anything to anyone about this. I don't want to put Vienna on the spot.
Alison: Yeah. My lips are sealed.
Casey: Thank you. Thank you for this.
Alison: Yeah. I mean, like you said, I owe you. I just hope you find what you're looking for.
Casey: Yeah. So do I. [Sighs]
Luke: How did you know that there was somebody in there with me?
Noah: Uh, I could see them through the window. I could see two bodies, you know? Uh, I can see shapes and colors, just, you know, not very clearly. Who -- who is it anyway?
Luke: Uh --
Reid: It's me, Noah. It's Dr. Oliver.
Noah: Oh. Hi.
Noah: What a surprise.
Reid: Yeah, I was helping Luke's family try and locate Gabriel Caras.
Luke: Yeah, he disappeared, and we were all really, really worried about where he was.
Noah: Mm. Yeah, of course. Well, I don't want to intrude, so -- I just -- I wanted to tell you that I got out of the hospital. Uh, Richard, can you, um -- can you drop me off?
Richard: Yeah, sure.
Luke: No, wait. You don't have to go. Why don't we all go out and get a drink?
Noah: A drink? Luke, are you, um -- you're not drinking again, are you?
Luke: No, no. I just thought we could celebrate your release.
Noah: [Scoffs] You make it sound like I just got out of prison.
Luke: Well, it's kind of like that, isn't it?
Noah: Yeah. Uh, Dr. Oliver, you join?
Reid: Uh, you know, I don't -- I don't know. I've got early rounds tomorrow.
Noah: Just -- just a quick drink. You know, I'd really like to thank you for everything you've done for me. It would mean a lot.
Reid: Then how could I say no?
Emily: What?! Suddenly I'm not good enough -- oh, excuse me -- I'm not good enough to be Eliza's Godmother? You were the one who asked me to step in and raise her when you were at Deerbrook. Do you remember that?
Meg: Okay, that's not what I'm saying. I just wish you and I had discussed this first, Paul.
Paul: It just came to me as an idea to keep everybody involved this afternoon. And you have to admit, it's a good fit, given how close Emily and Eliza have become lately.
Meg: Yeah, maybe a little too close.
Emma: You know, Meg -- you know, Paul is right. You know, it sounds like a very good idea, once you get used to it. I mean, I'm -- I'm sure you'll agree, you know? Good idea. Come on. We should go.
Meg: I'm still not happy with this.
Emma: No, Honey, it's all settled. It's all settled. See you later. Meg, are you deliberately trying to sabotage your chances of getting custody of Eliza? Honey, all Emily has to do is tell the judge about your erratic behavior and you may never see your child again.
Meg: That is never gonna happen.
[Cell phone rings]
Emma: Damn. [Sighs] These damn machines here. Oh, it's Matt from the farm. Hello, Matt. Oh, no. Oh -- okay, no, go, go, go. I -- I'll be right there. Okay, thank you.
Meg: Mama, what is it?
Emma: I have to go to the hospital.
Emma: One worker was hurt. You know, they can't find Holden. I -- I don't want to leave you here. I mean, I -- I want to be here for the christening.
Meg: Mama, I want you to be there, but you have a responsibility.
Emma: Maybe I can find Holden.
Meg: Okay, Mama, stop. Holden is unavailable. Otherwise he would have answered.
Emma: Well, Sweetheart, I want to be here for you for this.
Meg: Okay, look, I'm gonna be fine. We're gonna be fine, okay? I promise. Just fine.
Vienna: Casey, you really shouldn't be here.
Casey: Don't worry. I waited for Henry to get into the elevator. You know, I just wanted to stop by and say hi.
Vienna: Yeah, but now is really not a good time.
Casey: Oh, really? Do you have an appointment or something? 'Cause I can give you a lift.
Vienna: Thanks, but no.
Casey: No, it -- it's no trouble. Are you -- are you going to see Dr. Gravid?
Vienna: No. Why would you think that?
Casey: Well -- it was just a guess. Wait, wait. Where are his offices, anyway?
Vienna: Why are you so curious?
Casey: I'm just -- I got this feeling that Dr. Gravid really doesn't exist.
Vienna: Of course he exists!
Casey: Then why can't I find any records of him?
Vienna: [Scoffs] I told you, he's new in town. Why would I make up a doctor?
Casey: To keep me from finding out if the baby's mine.
Vienna: For the last time, Casey, you're not the father. I don't know if that's a disappointment to you or a relief.
Casey: Me either, to -- to be honest. I just --
Vienna: Look, I really appreciate that you want to step up and do the right thing. I do. But I am not lying. Henry is the baby's daddy.
Casey: Okay. If you say so. I won't -- I won't bother you about it anymore.
Vienna: Thanks. Casey, look. I know you're gonna be a great father one day, when that time comes.
Casey: Mm-hmm, and you'll be a great mother, too.
Vienna: I know I will.
Casey: Um, you going to the christening today?
Vienna: No, didn't you hear? It's canceled.
Casey: Where did you hear that?
Vienna: Barbara told Henry.
Casey: Well, I ran into Barbara downstairs, and she was talking like it was still on.
Vienna: Is that so?
Barbara: Well, I think it's going to be a wonderful ceremony, don't you?
Paul: I hope so.
Barbara: Then why do you look so worried?
Paul: I am a little worried about Meg. She seems so unsettled, almost paranoid.
Barbara: Well, that seems to be her natural state these days. Did you get my message?
Paul: About moving in to Fairwinds? Yes, I did.
Barbara: Good. What do you think?
Paul: Well --
Emily: We think it's a horrible idea, and it's not gonna happen.
Paul: Hi. Where's Emma?
Meg: Uh, well, there was an emergency with a field hand, so she won't be able to come to the christening.
Paul: Do you want to postpone?
Meg: No, no. May I have my daughter, please?
Emily: Sure. Here, Sweetheart.
Meg: Ah. Hi! Hello, Barbara.
Barbara: Hello, Meg.
Emily: If you'll excuse me -- I thought you'd never get here!
Alison: I'm sorry. I had to do a favor for a friend.
Emily: Okay, well, where's Ma?
Alison: She got paged to an emergency in the E.R.
Emily: Oh, come on.
Alison: I know.
Emily: Are you kidding me?
Alison: I'm sorry.
Emily: Fantastic. Hi, Henry.
Henry: Hello, Ladies.
Alison: Where's Vienna?
Henry: Unfortunately, she's under the weather.
Emily: Oh, well, I'm sorry. Well, I'm glad you're here anyway. Hope you brought a flak jacket.
Paul: Henry, so glad you're here. I wanted to ask you a favor.
Henry: Sure, I think.
Paul: Would you be Eliza's Godfather?
Henry: Wow. Uh, yes, I'd be -- I'd be honored to do that. Um, what do I have to do?
Paul: Well, mostly you just have to help me make sure that none of the women in the room kill each other.
Henry: Okay, that's it. Someone tell me what in the hell is going on around here.
Minister: Careful, Mr. Coleman. This is a family gathering.
Henry: Right. I'm sorry, Reverend. It's just, uh, I'm a little confused.
Paul: Join the club. All right. Let's have a christening.
Luke: This is killing me.
Reid: Then drop the charade. Let's be honest with him.
Luke: And say what? What am I supposed to tell him, Reid?
Richard: When will you tell him your sight is back?
Noah: When the time is right. Hey, uh, don't you have to get back to work? I really do appreciate you driving me down here.
Richard: Thank you. Good luck.
Luke: I'm just not sure if right now is the right time to tell Noah about -- about what's going on between us, I mean, if it even goes any further.
Reid: You don't think it will?
Luke: He just got out of the hospital today.
Reid: He's strong enough to take it.
Luke: Yeah, but I don't know if I'm strong enough to tell him.
Reid: That's guilt talking, not honesty.
Luke: So you want me to be honest?
Luke: Okay. Well, honestly, yeah, I do have feelings for you. I can't deny that anymore. But I'm in love with Noah.
Reid: Well, then, it seems to me that you have a decision to make, don't you?
All: "Lord, teach me all that I should know. In grace and wisdom may I grow. The more I learn to do thy will, the better may I love thee still."
Minister: Will you, Emily, and you, Henry, look after Eliza's spiritual life and protect her from evil always?
Both: I will.
Minister: Let us all look after and pray for Eliza Ryan.
Vienna: Oh, no. Don't tell me I'm late.
Paul: I'd like to thank all of you for making this moment in Eliza's life possible. And this is a new beginning for us, and I hope that you can all join and enjoy of raising her, my daughter, Eliza.
Barbara: And we will, Paul, because Eliza has family who love her. We all care about her well-being. Right, Meg? Right, Emily?
Meg: Nothing is more important.
Emily: She's the only thing that matters.
Paul: Okay, that's enough speeches. I'm boring even myself. Why don't we all go back to the house and celebrate?
Henry: Yes. Now we're talking.
Emily: Can I take her from you?
Meg: I'm fine. I can manage.
Emily: Are you sure? You look a little --
Meg: I said I'm fine.
Paul: You know what? Uh, the car seat's already in the car, okay? And -- and you can see Eliza when you get there.
Meg: Okay, you're right. Have fun with daddy, Sweetie, okay?
Vienna: What a beautiful ceremony.
Barbara: Yes. It's too bad you missed most of it.
Vienna: I know. I feel terrible. We should go. I don't want to miss the party, as well. So we'll see you at Fairwinds?
Barbara: Yes. Of course.
Vienna: I thought you said the christening was canceled.
Henry: Yes. There was some kind of misunderstanding.
Henry: I -- either that or Barbara got it wrong. Um, I was talking to Mr. Exeter, and then Paul called and said, "Where are you?" And then I raced over here as fast as I could. I -- I almost didn't make it in time.
Vienna: And you didn't think of calling me?
Henry: Yeah, I thought about calling you, but I didn't think you had enough time to get ready.
Vienna: You know I can make myself look fabulous in the dropping of a hat.
Henry: Yes, I know that. Of course you can. I'm sorry. Can you forgive me? I'm sorry.
Vienna: No, it's fine. Henry, its fine. I'm here, I made it, and we're gonna go to the party together.
Vienna: Shall we?
Henry: Yes. I could use a martini or 2 -- or 12.
Casey: Hey, Granddad, it's Casey. Uh, I need some help. Do you know of a Dr. Gravid? Yeah, he's new in town. An ob-gyn, I -- I think. Yes, I'm sure. Why is that so funny? You're kidding me, right? You're not? [Scoffs] I don't believe this.
Luke: Where's Richard.
Noah: Uh, he had to go to work. Where -- where did Dr. Oliver go?
Luke: Uh, he got paged. He had to go to the hospital.
Noah: Oh. Okay, so it's just you and me then.
Noah: Is that so awful?
Luke: No. No, not at all. It will -- it will give us a chance to talk.
Noah: Well --
Luke: Look, Noah, there's something that I really need to tell you.
Noah: Okay. Yeah, go ahead.
Luke: Um, things have been pretty rough for us lately. Even before the accident, things were --
Luke: Yeah. Yeah, it's like nothing could go well for us, and all we were doing is hurting each other.
Noah: Luke, I never wanted to hurt you.
Luke: You know, I'm not -- I'm not blaming you, Noah. I'm not blaming anyone. And what happened doesn't matter.
Noah: What does matter?
Luke: What will happen.
Noah: Okay, I -- I don't understand. What are you saying?
Luke: Noah, what I'm saying is that I want you back.
Luke: Noah, I love you. I hate the fact that we're not together anymore.
Noah: You do?
Luke: Yeah. Of course I do. Noah, I miss you. I want things to go back to the way they were before everything got so crazy.
Noah: Wait, wait. Luke, wait. Are you saying this because you feel guilty?
Luke: Why would I feel guilty?
Noah: Come on, Luke. Just be honest with me. Cut the bull.
Luke: I am.
Noah: No, you're not, okay? I know what's going on. I saw you kiss Dr. Oliver.
Emily: Ladies, champagne?
Emma: Oh. Yes, thank you. Uh --
Meg: I, uh, will pass on the champagne. Um, do you have any chamomile tea?
Emily: Of course. I'll be happy to get it for you.
Meg: Thank you.
Henry: Um, why don't you grab us, uh, some bubbly, Liebchen? Champagne for me, a sparkling cider for you, of course.
Vienna: Oh, always looking out for me.
Vienna: Be right back.
Barbara: And what part of "She is not welcome here" did you not understand?
Henry: I told her that the christening was canceled. Whoever told her differently, I don't know.
Barbara: Well, obviously, somebody did.
Henry: Look, the worst part is over, Barbara. This is just a party. You won't even know that she's here.
Vienna: Can I have everyone's attention, please?
Henry: Oh, oh.
Vienna: I have something I'd like to say.
Barbara: Guess what? I'm aware she's here.
Vienna: I have a wonderful announcement to make to add to this wonderful occasion.
Vienna: Henry and I -- we are getting married, and we are expecting our own child. So in a short few months, this wonderful family will be gathered again to christen our own little boy or a girl.
Barbara: Good heavens! Do you have to make everything about you?
Henry: Barbara --
Barbara: I mean it. This is not her party or her celebration. How dare you try to hijack this limelight?
Paul: Mom, that's enough.
Barbara: It's not enough. It's not. This is terribly inappropriate.
Vienna: I don't think this is, uh, inappropriate at all.
Barbara: No, you wouldn't. You shallow, narcissistic woman.
Paul: Mother --
Vienna: What did you call me?
Barbara: Narcissistic. Look it up. It begins with an "N."
Vienna: Really? And I thought it started with a "B," as in "Barbara." There's nothing more pathetic than an old, aging woman trying to compete with somebody --
Henry: Stop it. That's uncalled for.
Vienna: She started it.
Henry: Well, I'm ending it. Uh, I apologize. We have another engagement. Paul, Emily, thank you so much for being so gracious and understanding. Let's go.
Paul: Yeah. I think this is turning out to be a really great party.
Barbara: Well, don't blame me. Blame that euro trash little hussy.
Alison: Well -- nothing like a cat fight to keep things lively. I wonder what the second course is.
Emily: Uh, your guess is as good as mine.
Alison: [Chuckles] Well, too bad I can't stick around for it.
Emily: What?! No! You can't go! I -- I need all the backup I can get. Please.
Alison: I know, I know. I'm sorry. I wish I could stay. But I have something important that I have to do.
Alison: So you can tell me all about it later.
Emily: Oh, all right.
Alison: Bye-bye. Love you.
Alison: Bye. Bye, bye, bye.
Barbara: How dare she try to humiliate me in front of my entire family?
Paul: All right, all right. It's okay. Can I get you something?
Barbara: No. I'm fine.
Paul: Listen, what I said before, I think maybe I was wrong. I think maybe you should move in here. You know, I don't think you should stay at the hotel and constantly run into Henry and Vienna like that.
Barbara: You mean that?
Paul: Yes, I do. I want you to live here.
Emily: I don't. Not in a million years.
Meg: Where's Eliza?
Emma: Well, she's right over there, Meg.
Meg: Get your hands off of her! You're evil! Give me my daughter right now! I said give me my daughter, you witch.
Emma: Meg, calm down, Sweetheart. Eliza's fine.
Meg: No, she is not fine, not while that woman is holding her. Give her to me.
Emily: Paul -- Paul, do something.
Paul: Come on, Meg. Stop. Eliza's fine. Emily would never do anything to hurt her.
Meg: She already has! She left her alone in the car!
Paul: Well, yeah, but that's over.
Meg: No, it will never be over. Just look at her. Look at her, Paul. Paul, you got to save her, okay? You got to save our daughter.
Emily: She's losing her mind, Paul.
Meg: Shut up. Shut up, you -- shut up, okay?!
Paul: Hey, Meg!
Meg: I am not the threat here! You are!
Paul: Hey, hey!
Meg: Give me my daughter!
Paul: Look, Eliza's fine with Emily, okay, all right? But if it will make you feel better -- shh! Okay, listen. If it will make you feel better, I can ask my mom to hold Eliza. I can give her to my mom, okay?
Meg: No. My mom, okay? Eliza goes to my mother.
Paul: Well, no. Emma can't look after her right now because Emma and I -- we're gonna take you to go.
Paul: We're gonna take you to go see someone right now.
Emma: Yes. I should go with you. I should go with you. Eliza's gonna be fine with Barbara.
Emma: All right.
Paul: Why don't you let my mom hold Eliza for one second?
Emily: Okay. Yeah, yeah. Here.
Paul: Yeah. Meg? You ready? Why don't -- why don't we go somewhere?
Meg: Uh, where are we going?
Paul: Um, to talk to someone. We'll go talk to somebody -- somebody that can help you sort out what it is that's scaring you so much.
Meg: She's what's scaring me!
Paul: [Sighs] Look at me. You trust me, right?
Paul: Come with me. Please.
Alison: No, I just -- I don't understand why you didn't tell me this from the beginning, Case.
Casey: "Oh, hey, Ali, um, listen. I got some girl pregnant, and she's marrying another guy. I was hoping you would help me track down her doctor for me."
Alison: Yeah. It is sort of a mess.
Alison: How do you feel about it?
Casey: I don't know. Am I ready to be a dad? No, you know? But I -- I did grow up after I got Gwen pregnant. And I wouldn't deny that this baby was mine. I just -- I can't take the next step with --
Alison: Unless you know the truth.
Casey: Exactly, yes.
Alison: Have you tried just asking her?
Casey: Yeah, and she says I'm not the father.
Alison: Why don't you believe her?
Casey: I -- I really want to, but she acts all weird around me, and -- I asked my granddad about Dr. Gravid.
Alison: Does he know him?
Casey: No. And, in fact, I don't think he exists. You know, "Gravid" actually means "Pregnant" in Swedish.
Casey: Yeah, yeah. See? Why would Vienna just make up a fake doctor unless she was trying to stop me from finding something out?
Alison: Yeah, that is a little suspicious.
Casey: So what do we do? How can we find out another way?
Alison: Hold on. What do you mean "We"?
Vienna: I don't understand what I did that was so wrong.
Henry: Uh, what, like referring to Barbara as an old hag?
Vienna: I never said old hag.
Henry: You used words to that effect. It was cruel. And it's also far from the truth.
Vienna: And why do you always have a need to defend her?
Henry: I don't!
Vienna: Yes, you do! You always take her side over mine. And don't think that I don't know why.
Henry: What are you talking about?
Vienna: No, yeah, I don't know, yeah, because there was no business meeting today, and -- and Barbara didn't come here to tell you that the christening was over. It was just you. You didn't want me to be there because you wanted to be alone with her.
Henry: No, no, no, no. You got that all wrong.
Vienna: No, I don't got it all wrong, Henry. I don't. And I can't stand pretending anymore. You know, it maybe started out as a cheap trick to get your father's money, but it turned into something else. Just admit it. You're feeling something for her. You care about her, don't you?
Henry: All right, all right! I do. I care about Barbara.
Luke: You can see?
Noah: Yes, I can see. I can see you. I can see the napkins on the table and the -- the pictures on the wall.
Luke: Oh, my God. Why didn't you tell me?!
Noah: I didn't want to interrupt you and Dr. Oliver.
Luke: Noah, there's nothing going on with me and Reid.
Noah: "Reid"? Not Dr. Oliver.
Luke: Okay, Noah, listen to me. I love you. I meant everything I just said. I want us back together again.
Noah: What I saw looked pretty intense between you two.
Luke: It was just a kiss.
Noah: You know, I can't believe I was so worried about you two hating each other at the hospital. I mean, talk about getting it wrong.
Luke: No. Well, we did hate each other for a long time, but then --
Noah: Oh, so inevitably you must fall in love, right?
Luke: Noah, I don't love Reid. I love you.
Noah: Did you sleep with him?
Noah: Luke, tell me the truth. You owe me that much. When you were in Texas together for his lawsuit?
Luke: No, not then, not after.
Noah: Not yet?
Luke: Not ever. Noah, please, try to understand. You were pushing me away so much, and yeah, I was really hurt, and I was -- I was really confused, and I was very, very angry with you.
Noah: And Reid was there, right?
Luke: Forget about him. It hasn't gone anywhere.
Noah: But you admit that you're attracted to him.
Luke: Yes, but --
Noah: I feel like such an idiot.
Luke: Noah, don't.
Noah: You know, I should have pieced this together before, but maybe I was in denial, or -- or blind. You know, I could use that as an excuse.
Luke: Look, we can get back what we had. I know we can.
Noah: You really think so?
Noah: Because I don't, okay? I'm not gonna be your safe choice, your fallback guy. You feel guilty? Good. You should.
Luke: Noah, Noah, please, don't go.
Noah: We're finished, Luke, okay? We are done.
Luke: Okay, well, let me -- let me drive you home. We can talk in the car.
Noah: There's nothing more to talk about, okay? I don't want your help or your pity. I have my sight now. I don't need you.
Luke: I'm sorry to just show up like this.
Reid: You look as bad as I feel.
Luke: Yeah, well, I feel worse.
Reid: You told Noah about us?
Luke: I didn't have to. He kind of already knew.
Luke: Because you are really good at what you do. He has his sight back, completely, 100%.
Reid: That's fantastic.
Luke: Yeah, except he saw us kissing.
Reid: Oh. So what happened? What does this mean?
Luke: Well, it means that he doesn't even want to try to get back together with me.
Luke: Even after I told him that I loved him and that I want him back. And now I don't know what to do.
Reid: Why are you here?
Luke: I'm not really sure about that either.
Reid: Okay, so let me get this straight. You didn't come here because you told Noah the truth about us. You came here because he found out on his own and then dumped you.
Luke: No, look, Reid, it's not like that.
Reid: Yeah, it's exactly like that. You're hurt, and so you came crawling to the nearest shoulder. Guess what? I'm not interested. Go and lick your wounds somewhere else.
Luke: No, please. Reid --
Reid: Let me make this easier. Get out.
Henry: Yes, I have feelings for Barbara, but nothing is gonna come of it.
Vienna: How can you be so sure?
Henry: Because I -- I love you. You think I'm gonna leave you for her? No. Is that what you're thinking? I love you. She knows that. And you should know it, too.
Vienna: [Scoffs] You -- you can't tell me that you have feelings for another woman and expect me to pretend that everything is fine.
Henry: Everything is fine! We're together. We're happy. We're gonna have a baby.
Vienna: And if -- if we weren't?
Henry: What are you talking about?
Vienna: If we weren't pregnant, would you be as in love with me?
Henry: This is silly. You are pregnant.
Vienna: That's not an answer.
Casey: It wasn't that long ago that, uh, you and I were talking about having kids. And here I go, asking you to help me find out if I'm the father of someone else's.
Alison: Yeah. It is a lot to ask. But I can't say no to you, I mean, after everything I've done to you and everything we've been through. So I'm in.
Barbara: So, where do you think Paul took Meg?
Emily: Deerbrook, I hope. I mean, obviously she's having some sort of a mental breakdown.
Barbara: Don't look so pleased.
Emily: I'm not. But there's no way the judge is gonna award her custody of Eliza now.
Barbara: Is that all you're worried about?
Emily: Of course not. I'm concerned about Meg, as well. But she didn't just call you the devil, so can you do me a favor and not judge me? If you were in my place, you'd be thinking the same damn thing.
Emma: There you go.
Meg: I don't want to be here, Mama. I am not sick, and I am not falling apart!
Emma: Sweetheart, shh! You need to calm down. You need your rest. Now, that's why the doctor gave you the sedative.
Meg: I don't want to sleep. I want to go back and get my daughter. I need to take her away from that evil woman. Don't you see? She is trying to steal my little girl. And you need -- you need to promise me to keep her away from me and to keep her away from Eliza, okay?
Emma: Yes, I will. I will, I will.
On the next "As the World Turns" --
Chris: One second, okay? Just give me a hand.
Barbara: And Vienna is going to get suspicious, and I don't think you want her to know about us.
Henry: It's too late. She already does.
Casey: "Gravid" means "Pregnant" in Swedish? So either your doctor has the world's most ironic name, or you're lying to me about something.
