Alison: I -- I just don't want you to get hurt.
Casey: This has nothing to do with you. And I -- I didn't even ask you your opinion.
Alison: Okay. She's using you, Casey.
Casey: Why -- why is it so hard for you to believe that she's actually interested in me?
Alison: You mean because she's only ever wanted Henry?
Casey: Uh, maybe she's been jerked around too many times. It happens.
Alison: Can't you see, Casey, that you are the perfect person for her to use?
Casey: Why, why? Is it because I'm a loser?
Alison: Of course not. It's because the two of you are so different. So when she tells Henry that she never cared about you, could never care about you, he'll believe her.
Casey: She's done with Henry.
Alison: Is she really?
Casey: Why -- why do you even care?
Alison: 'Cause I just don't want to see you get hurt.
Casey: Unless you're responsible for it.
Alison: Fine. I deserve that. A -- and maybe I'm someone you shouldn't trust with this.
Casey: You think?
Alison: But I still care about you.
Casey: Oh, spare me.
Alison: Okay, a -- and coming from someone who knows all about using men and then blowing them off.
Casey: You said it.
Alison: Then trust me on this. That is exactly what Vienna is planning to do to you.
Henry: You're pregnant?
Vienna: Isn't it wonderful? I'm going to have our baby! [Laughs]
Henry: Vienna, this -- I don't know what to say.
Barbara: Well, it's -- it's -- it's wonderful.
Vienna: Isn't it? Isn't it? And it's so unexpected. I mean, Henry and I, we wanted to have a family for so long, but after last time, we weren't sure if we wanted to risk that again. But it's a miracle. Isn't it, Henry?
Henry: Yes. That's -- that's what it is all right.
Barbara: Children are a blessing.
Vienna: Oh, yes, they are. And we did it, Darling. We made our dream come true. Oh.
Chris: Why are you running away from me?
Katie: I'm not.
Chris: We were acting. We were playing parts in a show about my grandmother's life.
Katie: I know that.
Chris: And that kiss -- the kiss, you know, it didn't mean anything.
Katie: I know that, too.
Chris: Then let's just forget about it, right?
Katie: That's easy for you to say, but no one's gonna let me forget about it.
Chris: Who is really gonna care, Katie?
Katie: Everyone! All the viewers who watched me marry brand on TV, they want to see me in mourning, not kissing some other guy.
Chris: Katie, you were acting!
Katie: Yeah, that's exactly what they'll say. "She sure was acting like she's over Brad." Which I'm not.
Chris: I know that, and I'm sure they know that, too.
Katie: No, no. You don't understand how audiences look at people on TV. They're gonna think it was real.
Chris: You know what I think? I think you're underestimating the audience.
Katie: No, I'm not. It's gonna go viral, and now everyone who watched me with Brad is gonna hate me.
Chris: Fine. Then what can I do?
Katie: Just leave me alone.
Luke: I brought you some lunch. And I, uh, put some new tunes on this for you.
Noah: Oh, thanks.
Luke: So, any changes?
Noah: Uh, it's hard to tell. I mean, I -- I can see light and dark and some colors, but shapes are still mostly blurry.
Luke: Yeah, but some of them are clear.
Noah: I think so. Uh, I can't focus on anything. I -- I try to focus, and nothing happens. It's really frustrating.
Luke: Well, maybe you shouldn't push it.
Noah: Yeah. It's hard not to, though.
Luke: I know.
Noah: It's like the other day. I was able to get out of the bed and even got out of the room by myself.
Luke: Well, that's fantastic.
Noah: Yeah, I thought so, but then I overheard you and Dr. Oliver arguing in the hallway. I -- I couldn't make out what you were saying, but, you know, I just heard the tone.
Luke: Are you sure it was us?
Noah: Nothing wrong with my hearing, Luke.
Luke: Right. Sorry.
Noah: Yeah. I -- I tried focusing on what you guys were doing, but I couldnít. I couldn't see.
Luke: Well, that will come.
Noah: I hope so. So, what were you guys fighting about anyway?
Reid: What do you want from me? Tell me. You want me to pretend that nothing happened between us? That's not the way I work. And we both know that's not true.
Noah: So what was going on with you two? I thought you and Dr. Oliver were over your problems.
Luke: We are, we are. It's just some days, I really have to try. He can be very hard to get along with.
Noah: So what was it this time?
Luke: Oh, you know, I can't even remember. We were probably arguing about you. We argue about you a lot.
Noah: You shouldn't fight with him.
Luke: I know. I just get protective.
Noah: Yeah, I never noticed. So, what were they, uh, doing to me that you didn't like?
Luke: Um, honestly, I just -- I can't remember. You know, I really should, um, stay out of your care, but I can't help myself.
Noah: You know, Dr. Oliver knows what he's doing.
Luke: I know.
Noah: But if you want to worry about me, that's okay.
Luke: Really? I thought you hated it.
Noah: I did at first, I mean, when I was still angry. But now I don't mind so much. It's who you are. It's one of the reasons I love you. But could you do me a favor and, um, just steer clear of Dr. Oliver?
Luke: I will.
Noah: I mean, I -- I know it's not all your fault. I -- I know how difficult it can be. If you ask him what time it is, he calls you interfering.
Luke: I know.
Noah: But he is also the reason I'm able to see at all right now.
Luke: I know. I'll try.
Reid: I just, uh, need to check out my patient.
Noah: So, what do you see?
Reid: Your eyes.
Noah: [Laughs] Are they getting better?
Reid: Everything seems to be okay. I'll -- I'll do, um -- we'll come back and do a more thorough exam later. Sorry.
Luke: That's my bad.
Reid: I'll -- I'll see you later.
Noah: That was really weird.
Luke: What was?
Noah: The way Dr. Oliver was acting? It was like he couldn't wait to get out of here.
Luke: I didn't get that.
Noah: You must have really ticked him off, Luke. I think you should maybe go apologize.
Luke: For what?
Noah: Just to be safe. For me?
Luke: Okay. I'll be right back.
Henry: Well, I don't believe this.
Vienna: I know! Isn't it wonderful?
Henry: You had no idea that this might happen?
Vienna: No, no, none. A -- and I know it's been such a while since we've been together. And -- and even though I've been feeling a little sick in the morning, I -- it didn't hit me until today. So I checked the calendar, and I saw that I was a little late, so I took the tests.
Henry: Are you sure you did it right?
Vienna: Well, how hard can it be?
Henry: I don't -- I don't know.
Vienna: W -- why are you being so negative?
Henry: I'm -- I'm not. I'm not.
Vienna: Well, I thought you were gonna be happy about this.
Henry: It's just -- it's a shock, Baby. It's a shock, yeah.
Vienna: I know, I know! And it's -- it's a shock for me, as well.
Henry: So I just need some time to let it -- sink in and -- and -- it's kind of scary. Being a parent, it's -- it's a big job.
Vienna: I know, but we'll do it together, and it's gonna be wonderful. And -- and we lost our last chance, but I feel like this -- this time, nothing bad is going to happen. Don't you think?
Casey: Do you really think you should be telling me what to do when it comes to relationships?
Alison: Relationship? Is that what it is, you and Vienna?
Alison: Look, I'm not telling you what to do, Casey. I just -- think you should know what you're getting yourself into.
Casey: That's different how?
Alison: Fine, maybe it isnít. I don't know. Just be careful. That's all. You've been hurt enough.
Casey: Mostly by you.
Alison: That's right. It's my job, and nobody else gets to do it.
Alison: I'm sorry. I shouldn't be joking about that.
Casey: No, no, you shouldnít.
Alison: I just want us to be friends.
Casey: I just don't think that's gonna happen.
Alison: All right, all right, all right. Then I'll keep my advice to myself.
Casey: I'll believe that when I see it.
Alison: [Sighs] I know, I know. You're right. But, you know, with this case, do yourself a favor and listen to me, because I think I'm right about it, as much as I wish I werenít.
Casey: Hey, Ali, Ali, I'm sorry. Thank you, too.
Alison: For interfering?
Casey: No, for caring.
Casey: Yeah. But this time you -- you don't have to worry about me.
Alison: I hope you're right.
Chris: I think you're really making too much of this.
Katie: I don't think so.
Chris: Fine, then I'm sorry.
Katie: You think that's good enough.
Chris: You know, I -- I don't know what is good enough. In fact, I don't know what you want from me. So until you calm down and you're able to talk about it, then -- then I'll do just what you're asking me to do -- to leave you alone. Hello, Barbara.
Barbara: Hello, Cousin. He's not in a very good mood.
Katie: Neither are you.
Barbara: It's going around.
Katie: I freaked out and blamed him for kissing me in Lisa's anniversary show.
Barbara: Oh, come on. He was acting. It was part of the sketch.
Katie: I guess just playing Lisa with her lover made me miss Brad.
Barbara: It's hard to be alone.
Katie: I guess that's why you're still hung up on Henry.
Barbara: I am not hung up on Henry.
Katie: Well, it sure as hell isn't Rex you're hung up on.
Barbara: Who the hell is Rex?
Katie: The anchorman I set you up with.
Barbara: Was that his name?
Katie: He said you were rude. I guess I shouldn't have stuck up for you.
Barbara: He was not my type.
Katie: If you're gonna be out there dating, you can't really have a type.
Barbara: I'm not out there dating.
Katie: Well, if you weren't, then why did you ask me to set you up with him?
Barbara: Because you wouldn't give it a rest.
Katie: That's not true!
Barbara: You know -- I want you to do me a favor. I want you to stay out of my life, all right?
Katie: I'm sorry. I just -- I thought you wanted me --
Barbara: You don't know what I want. You only know what you think that I should want, and you are wrong.
Barbara: And as far as Henry is concerned, you can stop that, too, because he is safe from my evil, old clutches.
Katie: What does that mean?
Barbara: It means that your friend Vienna has tricked him back into her bed. And this time, he's not gonna be able to crawl out.
Vienna: No, I want to go home right away and call my family and tell them the good news.
Henry: Don't you want to wait?
Vienna: For what?
Henry: Uh, isn't it bad luck to announce a pregnancy before the end of the first trimester?
Vienna: No! I don't believe in that. That's just like old-wives tales or something.
Henry: Yeah, but we don't want to take any chances.
Vienna: Well, we told Barbara.
Henry: Yeah, we did. You're right. I -- I hope she --
Henry: I, uh -- I hope that she is circumspect. Maybe I should find her and make sure she keeps this to herself.
Vienna: No, no, no! She doesn't have to. I want the whole world to know that our love is creating a brand-new life.
Henry: And you want me to be with you while you call Sweden?
Vienna: I want you with me all the time, forever.
Henry: It's all gonna be in Swedish though. I don't speak that.
Henry: I -- I got stuff I got to do.
Vienna: Okay, go. But come home as soon as you're done.
Henry: I will.
Vienna: Oh. I want to share every moment of this with you.
Henry: We will.
Katie: I need to see your face right now, Brad.
P.A.: Can I help you with anything, Katie?
Katie: No. I found everything I need. Thanks. Um, I'm gonna be down here for a while, just viewing some tapes.
P.A.: Make sure you prop this door open. It sticks sometimes when it shuts.
Katie: Oh, okay, I will. Thank you.
Katie: It sticks sometimes.
Henry: I've been looking for you.
Barbara: I'm leaving.
Henry: You wouldn't answer my calls.
Barbara: Do you really sound surprised?
Henry: No, we need to talk.
Barbara: No, I don't think I have anything to say to you.
Henry: I have something to say to you.
Barbara: Save it for the mother of your child.
Henry: Barbara, please.
Barbara: No, get away from me. Get away.
Henry: Barbara, Barbara, no.
Barbara: Let go.
Henry: I'm not gonna do that.
Alison: So, she asked me if she'll be able to play the piano once her broken hand heals. And I say, "Yeah, of course." And she says, "Well, that's great, 'cause I was never able to play the piano before."
Casey: [Laughs] Get out of town.
Alison: I swear.
Casey: No! How is it all your patients are retired comedians?
Alison: I know. It's -- it's kind of ridiculous and amazing. So, yeah, I miss this.
Casey: Yeah. Me too.
Alison: We can still be friends.
Casey: I guess so.
Alison: Does that mean you forgive me?
Casey: Absolutely not. I still need something to hang over your head.
Alison: [Laughs] I can deal with that. You know what? I have a break right now. Do you want to get coffee with me?
Casey: Um, actually --
Vienna: Casey, I need to talk to you.
Casey: I'm kind of in the middle of something.
Vienna: I'm sure she won't mind.
Nurse: Dr. Hughes, I thought you were off today.
[Cell phone ringing]
Chris: Uh, I just need to check on a couple of my patients. Hello.
Katie: Chris, can you hear me?
Chris: Wait. Hold on. I'll go outside. Can you hear me now?
Chris: That's -- that's better. Where are you?
Katie: I'm in the basement at the station.
Chris: That explains it. Um, what's up?
Katie: I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I should not have yelled at you like that before.
Chris: It's okay.
Katie: No, it's not. You were right. I totally overreacted.
Chris: Well, look, forget it.
Katie: I'd really like to maybe talk about it a little more.
Chris: Katie, it's okay, really.
Katie: No, really, it would make me feel better.
Katie: Would you mind coming here? I'm in the basement, in the tape-storage room.
Chris: Uh, sure. Yeah, I'll -- I'll come find you.
Chris: All right. I'm on my way.
Katie: Bye. Alison, hi, it's Katie. Listen, I really, really need your help. Um, I'm at the station in the basement at the tape-storage room. Security will point you in the right direction. But it's really important that I see you. Can you get here as soon as possible? Thank you. Bye. [Groans] Oh, what are you doing? Chris told you to back off. Call them both now and tell them to not -- [Gasps] Oh, no! No, no! Oh, my -- no. [Sighs]
Luke: I hate lying to Noah.
Reid: So donít.
Luke: I already have. He saw us in the hallway the other day.
Luke: So if his sight had been any clearer, he would have seen that we were really --
Reid: That we're really hot for each other?
Luke: That's not funny.
Reid: You'll know when I'm trying to be funny.
Luke: I have to tell him.
Reid: Tell him what?
Luke: About us.
Reid: I think that's a really bad idea.
Luke: Noah is not stupid. He's gonna find out soon enough.
Reid: Then he's a lot smarter than I am.
Luke: I'm being serious.
Reid: So am I. Tell him what exactly?
Luke: Well, I'm not sure. But he thinks that we still hate each other.
Reid: Sounds like a perfect cover to me.
Luke: Yeah, but when he finds out, he'll hate me.
Reid: Maybe he doesn't need to find out.
Luke: Noah and I don't keep secrets.
Reid: Maybe this is something you want to keep from him.
Luke: What's wrong with you?
Reid: What's wrong with you?
Reid: Then stop thinking about yourself for just one minute. If you tell Noah that something happened between us, you'll pretty much be guaranteeing that he will never see you again.
Katie: Come on! Isn't anybody up there? I'm stuck down here!
Katie: Chris, is that you?
Katie: The door sticks. I can't get out.
Chris: Okay, okay. Just, um -- just back away. I'll go to push.
Katie: Oh! Yes. You are the man.
Chris: What happened?
Katie: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Katie: Oh, man, the door! It sticks when it slams shut.
Chris: Well, here, let me -- let me try it. It's stuck.
Katie: I know.
Katie: That's not gonna help.
Chris: You're saying we're stuck down here?
Katie: I'm sorry about this. Today has been a total disaster, and it's all my fault. You were right. I should have just stopped meddling in your life.
Chris: [Sighs] Well, what does that have to do with this door here?
Katie: I wanted you to get stuck down here.
Chris: You what?
Katie: Not with me.
Chris: Then with who?
Katie: Alison. I called her right after I called you, and I left a message asking her to meet me here. And I was gonna take off, but I couldnít.
Chris: Are you serious?
Chris: [Sighs] I can't -- you wanted me to get stuck down here with Alison?
Katie: So the romance could ensue.
Chris: That has to be one of the stupidest ideas that you ever had, Katie.
Katie: You'd be surprised.
Chris: [Sighs] I -- I just can't believe that you are still playing matchmaker when I asked you not to do that.
Katie: Well, I was gonna stop and -- and try to fix it and have you guys not come here, but my cell phone wouldn't work.
Chris: This is unbelievable.
Katie: Well, the good news is Alison's not coming. I couldn't get a hold of her.
Chris: And how is that good news?
Katie: You don't want her here.
Chris: Well, I don't want her to come down here and get trapped, no, but now I do want her to come.
Chris: Because right now she's our only hope of getting out of here.
Alison: So, how is everything?
Noah: Physically, fine. Emotionally, I'm -- I'm not so great.
Alison: That sounds pretty normal to me.
Noah: Yeah, right. It's amazing to me how some people can just make things so simple, like Dr. Oliver.
Alison: What do you mean?
Noah: He looks at your brain and sees what's wrong, and then he goes to work.
Alison: I think it's a little more complicated than that.
Noah: Yeah, well, not compared to my life.
Alison: Is this about Luke?
Noah: Yes and no.
Alison: Mostly yes. [Laughs] I thought you guys were gonna work things out.
Noah: I don't know anymore. I mean, I just -- I just wish things could go back the way they were before the accident. But, you know, so much has changed.
Alison: You still love him though, right?
Noah: As much as I ever did. I mean, hon -- honestly I think more.
Alison: And I know he still loves you.
Noah: It's not that simple.
Alison: Well, sometimes it is, or so I've been told.
Noah: Yeah. Those greeting cards can lie though, right?
Alison: Most of the time.
Noah: You know, what really gets me about this is that it's -- it's my fault. The distance that Luke is keeping right now, I really hurt him when I pushed him away before.
Alison: Yeah, but he knows why you did it.
Noah: Understanding is one thing. Not blaming me is something else.
Alison: Yeah, so I've noticed.
Noah: Casey, huh?
Alison: I mean, I think he understands the whole thing with Mick as well as anyone can, I guess. But it doesn't mean he's ready to move on or, you know, pretend it never happened.
Noah: So you guys are -- you guys are really over, huh?
Alison: We're friends. Trying to be, I think.
Noah: See, I don't just want to be friends with Luke. I'm -- I'm sorry.
Alison: That's okay.
Noah: I just -- I hope Luke feels the same way.
Reid: No, hey, really. I think that's a great idea. I think you should march right in there and tell that fragile man, whom you supposedly love, that we kissed a few times and even almost had sex the day I cracked open his skull. I think that's gonna make him feel much better. Because then he can push you and me away. But, you know, hey, I'm only the guy who can give him back his sight.
Luke: I know that.
Reid: But what's his vision matter compared to your confused little feelings?
Luke: You know, I almost forgot how much of a jerk you can be.
Reid: I'm a jerk? You're the one who's trying to sabotage Noah's recovery.
Luke: No, I'm not!
Reid: Then don't try to turn him into your father confessor. He doesn't need that right now.
Luke: Yeah, but I have to be honest with him.
Reid: What is it about getting sick that makes everybody around them feel like that's the time to unload their secrets on them? [Voice breaking] "I feel like I have to be honest with him at a time like this." No, you donít. What you have to do is be there for him, help him deal. And if that means lying your butt off, then you damn well better lie your butt off.
Barbara: Okay, say what you have to say.
Henry: First of all, I want to tell you how happy I am that your test came back negative.
Barbara: I'm glad that my white-cell count is making you feel better.
Henry: Okay, I deserve that.
Barbara: I know how happy you've told me that you are. I want you to go out shopping for baby clothes and diapers and stop playing games with me.
Henry: I'm not.
Barbara: Vienna is pregnant with your baby, and we both know that you're gonna go back to her and be with her. So why are you doing this?
Henry: Because I still care about you.
Barbara: No, no, no. Don't, don't, donít. You have messed with my life enough.
Henry: I don't think we messed up, being together.
Barbara: No, I think you want me to know how much of a favor you did for me.
Henry: That's not it at all.
Barbara: And maybe you did. Maybe you did, 'cause I don't see any other men looking at me that way, you know?
Henry: That's not true.
Barbara: You know what? I've had it. I've had it. I am done with this drama, and I am -- I'm a little bored with you, Henry.
Henry: You don't mean that.
Barbara: I am bored with you. I am done with you. I am done. So I'm tossing you out like a half-eaten sandwich. So go back to your Swedish meatball and tell her that she's won, okay?
Henry: This is not a contest!
Barbara: Really? You don't think so?
Henry: No, I donít.
Barbara: Wow. This is rich. The master con artist doesn't even know he's being scammed.
Henry: What, by Vienna?
Barbara: [Laughs] By Vienna. Yeah. She wanted you, and now with this "Accidental baby," she's got you. You're all hers. You're housebroken. So go be her little puppy dog, and maybe she'll throw you a bone after you've learned a few tricks.
Vienna: Yeah, we can talk here.
Casey: About what?
Vienna: [Clears throat] I just want to apologize. I, uh, know that my behavior must seem strange to you.
Casey: [Laughs] Around here? Not at all.
Vienna: You know, I don't mean to run so hot and cold on you, but I'm going through a very confusing time with, uh, Henry right now.
Casey: I thought you wanted to get back with him.
Vienna: I do, and I think we're getting there.
Casey: That -- that's a good thing, right?
Vienna: Right, yeah. But I want you to know that I really enjoyed spending time with you.
Casey: So did I. I -- I really thought you knew that.
Vienna: And if things were different, I think we might have had something.
Casey: Yeah, but they're not, so we donít.
Vienna: We donít.
Casey: It didn't work.
Vienna: So you're okay?
Casey: I -- I know what we were doing was just having fun together.
Vienna: Okay, yeah. And you're okay with that?
Casey: Sure. I -- I just have one question.
Casey: Is there really any good reason that we have to stop?
Katie: You hate me, don't you?
Katie: You should hate me.
Chris: Probably. But I donít. Katie, what is it gonna take to get you to stop playing matchmaker?
Katie: I don't know. I'm sorry. I think you were right. It's just a way to distract me from my own life. But I don't see what's so wrong about wanting to make people happy.
Chris: Nothing. Nothing. I think the question is, how come you don't want to deal with your own life?
Katie: What am I supposed to do? Brad's gone.
Chris: Yeah, but would he just want you to give up?
Katie: People keep asking me that kind of question, and it's just so ridiculous, because the truth is, it doesn't matter what he would want because he's not here.
Chris: Ah, I see. So what are you gonna do, just spend the rest of your life feeling sorry for yourself?
Katie: Let's just concentrate on getting out of here.
Chris: I am open to suggestions.
Katie: [Sighs] Still no service.
Chris: Uh, yeah, me neither. What about that vent?
Katie: What about it?
Chris: Well, I mean, I might be a little too big to get through there, but --
Katie: I am not going in there! It will collapse!
Chris: What? They do it in the movies all the time.
Katie: Well, then, it's got to be safe.
Chris: No, come on, come on, come on. I'll give you a boost.
Katie: Okay, I would like to say for the record that I think this is a very bad idea.
Chris: Noted. Come on. Let's go. All right.
Both: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
Katie: Well, now that that "Mission: Impossible" idea didn't work, you got any other movie plans?
Chris: I don't know. Maybe -- "Matrix."
Katie: How would that work?
Chris: Well, I guess we'd need a computer. But then if we had a computer, we could e-mail someone, so then maybe we could -- [Laughs] What is it?
Katie: Our wedding. We were so happy that day. I thought I had found my partner for life, that I wouldn't ever be lonely again, that I would never -- [Voice breaking] I just never thought it would be over so soon.
Chris: Hey, come here, come here.
Vienna: I enjoyed being with you, but Henry and I are back together.
Casey: I know that. But you said yourself that we were just having fun. Why stop?
Vienna: Because I'm in love with another man.
Casey: And I respect that. But you are really amazing, and I think you seem like a woman who could handle more than one man.
Vienna: I'm sorry. Flattered, but sorry.
Casey: [Laughs] No problem. I won't push it if that's what you want.
Vienna: Yes, I want Henry.
Casey: And he's enough for you?
Vienna: More than enough.
Casey: Okay. Then I won't be a problem.
Vienna: Thank you.
Casey: Is that all you wanted to talk about?
Vienna: Yeah, that's it.
Casey: Okay, I got to get back to work.
Henry: Wait. Vienna loves me.
Barbara: Oh, I'm sure she does. But she also wants you to do what she wants, and you don't know how to say no.
Henry: She's pregnant with my baby.
Barbara: How convenient. You know what I'd do if I were in your shoes? I'd get a paternity test.
Henry: I can't do that.
Barbara: Why not?
Henry: Well, she'd think I didn't trust her.
Barbara: She should want to prove that you can.
Henry: It's my baby.
Barbara: And you know that how?
Henry: How do you think, Barbara?
Barbara: [Laughs] You know, you are just so cute when you're naive.
Henry: Okay, that's it. That's enough, all right? You're upset, and you have every right to be. But that doesn't mean you can say these things about Vienna. Now, she is going to be the mother of my child, and that's all that matters.
Barbara: Then why are you here?
Henry: I wanted to make sure you're okay.
Barbara: And why does that matter to you so much?
Henry: It just does, and you know it. But I'm going to be a father now, and I won't take that lightly.
Reid: Don't rush the process. Healing has to happen on its own time.
Noah: Yeah, it's just really frustrating.
Reid: I'm sure, but I think it's gonna be worth the wait.
Luke: Hey. How's he doing?
Reid: As well as could be expected.
Luke: Does that mean he can go outside?
Reid: I don't think so.
Luke: Just for some air. I won't leave his side.
Reid: I'm sure you wonít.
Luke: Just for a few minutes.
Noah: I'll be really careful.
Reid: Don't forget that you're still healing.
Noah: Don't worry, I wonít.
Reid: Where are you planning on taking him?
Luke: Not far.
Reid: Don't overdo it.
Luke: We wonít.
Katie: [Sniffles] Sorry.
Chris: Don't worry about it. [Voice breaking]
Katie: It's just been really hard. It's bad enough that I lost Brad, but then I have this new baby to take care of. It's like I had to be his mother and his father both at the same time. I didn't think I could do it.
Chris: Katie, you did it.
Katie: Gosh, it's been a really hard time.
Chris: I know, and you got through it.
Katie: With Brad's help. This is gonna sound really weird, but I felt like he was still with me, you know, like his spirit was still with me.
Chris: I don't think that sounds weird at all. I'm sure it was.
Katie: Yeah, but then it just -- it got to the point where I felt like it was real, like we could still be together even though he was dead.
Chris: That must have been awful.
Katie: Not always. It gave me strength. And I saw him Christmas Eve. Just -- it got me through it.
Chris: Do you still see him?
Katie: No. We said good-bye, and then I haven't seen him since.
Chris: It's 'cause you don't need him anymore. [Voice breaking]
Katie: It was just really hard to let him go. I don't ever want to feel that again.
Chris: What? Being in love?
Katie: Losing it.
Chris: Katie, that risk is always there, so --
Katie: Well, I can't take it. I canít. Jacob needs me too much.
Chris: Don't you think you deserve to be happy?
Katie: I was.
Chris: Don't you want to be happy again? [Laughs nervously] Hey.
Alison: I got your message to meet you here. What's going on?
Katie: We were trapped.
Alison: You couldn't call somebody in the building?
Katie: No, our cell phones won't work in here, down here.
Alison: So what's going on?
Katie: I can't explain that. I mean, I will, but just not right now. Just don't shut the door or you'll get locked in, too.
Alison: Do you have time to tell me?
Chris: You know what she wanted to do? She wanted us to get trapped in here, yeah.
Alison: Me and you?
Chris: Yeah. Another botched hook-up attempt.
Alison: What is wrong with her?
Chris: I don't know. She means well.
Alison: I don't care. It's none of her business.
Chris: She knows that.
Alison: So why won't she stop?
Chris: I think she's gonna stop now.
Alison: She'd better.
Chris: Yeah. Look, I'm sorry about all of this.
Alison: No. No, I probably owe you an apology.
Chris: You owe me? Why?
Alison: When Katie kept going on and on about how great you are, I maybe had agreed with her.
Chris: [Chuckles] How could you?
Alison: I know. It must have encouraged her to come up with this plan.
Chris: Well, you know what? I think I encouraged her myself.
Chris: There may have been a time where I said something nice about you, too. So --
Alison: Then we're even.
Alison: How would you like to go get a cup of coffee?
Chris: Coffee? You sure? You don't have to go back?
Alison: Well, I'm on a break, so, I mean -- I mean, if you feel like it.
Chris: Yeah, yeah. I'd love to.
Alison: All right.
Katie: You look as bad as I feel. Trust me. I'm gonna go pick up Jacob from the babysitter.
Reid: I'll be here.
Katie: Why don't you come with me?
Katie: It's a beautiful day. We could go to the park, get some fresh air.
Reid: I'm not fond of air.
Katie: Come on.
Reid: No, I -- I can't right now. I'm really busy.
Katie: I see that.
Reid: Thanks for the offer.
Katie: Sure. Maybe next time.
Noah: It's so beautiful. I can finally see colors.
Luke: That's fantastic.
Noah: I know. It's like I finally have something positive in my life, you know? You're not smiling.
Luke: Well, I guess Dr. Oliver just freaked me out.
Noah: Forget about him. We're out here, just the two of us. It's the perfect time for us to just talk to each other.
Noah: I mean it. You know, really talk.
Noah: Luke, you know you can tell me anything, right?
Vienna: I'm so glad I found you. Let's go to the lounge and then celebrate.
Vienna: Yes, right now. I want you to have some champagne for both of us.
Vienna: I know this is sudden and hard to get used to, but it's gonna be wonderful.
Henry: Yeah, I know it will.
Vienna: And this time, we can enjoy it. We don't have to hide it from anyone.
Henry: No. No, we donít.
Vienna: I am going to embrace every minute of it. Oh, Henry, we're having a baby -- our baby.
Henry: I know.
Barbara: [Sobs, scoffs] Barbara Ryan and Henry Coleman. [Sobs]
On the next "As the World Turns" --
Luke: I think he's confused about his feelings for me, with everything that's happened.
Reid: I'm not.
Lily: Gabriel Caras is Craig's son.
Jack: Some kind of joke?
Margo: No. Which would rule him out as the person responsible for trying to kill his own son.
Carly: You still can't say anything to anybody about the fight you had with Gabriel before that fire.
Parker: How long are we gonna get away with this?
