Craig: You've always had the touch with me.
Rosanna: Carly, I -- I, uh -- I need you to fix my dress.
Carly: Yeah. It's no problem. I've got a needle and thread.
Johnny: How much longer till the wedding?
Craig: Know what? Just a few more minutes, and then you and me and Rosanna are gonna be a family, just like we were meant to be.
Carly: Ow! Oh, damn it.
Rosanna: I thought it was the bride who was supposed to be nervous.
Carly: I just want today to be perfect for you.
Rosanna: It will be.
Carly: Not if I bleed all over your dress.
Rosanna: You know, there's a first-aid kit I noticed in the judge's bathroom. Maybe you can find a band-aid in there.
Carly: Yeah. Just don't move, okay? The needle's still attached to you.
Rosanna: Oh, okay.
Craig: Hey. The ring bearer's bouncing off the walls. You almost ready?
Rosanna: Are you?
Craig: What do you mean? Don't I look ready?
Carly: Is something wrong?
Rosanna: What could go wrong on a day like today?
Jack: You came with Dusty?
Janet: Because I didn't want to come by myself to the wedding.
Jack: Janet, I told you that I'd see you here.
Janet: I know, but you've got obligations. You're the best man, and Dusty was kind enough to ask me if I wanted to go, and, so, I said yes. Is that a problem?
Jack: Thank you very much for bringing my wife, Dusty. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to track down the judge.
Dusty: You okay? Let's get a good seat.
Henry: Oh, Henry, you have not lost your touch. Drawing to an inside straight? [Whistles] That took nerves of steel. Profound sense of card play, the keen ability to read the various and sundry tells of your opponents.
Brad: With a little help from your pal, Bradley the friendly ghost. You would have folded like a tent if I hadn't read the other players' hands.
Henry: You know, you make a great ghost but a lousy psychic. I wanted them to think that I was gonna fold. Okay. I couldn't have done it without you. Fine. We're even, Brad. We're even. I let you borrow my body for a few hours --
Brad: You let me?
Henry: And then, in exchange, you get me some cold, hard cash. We are square now. You got what you wanted. You got to hold your son. That's kind of a miracle.
Brad: But it wasn't enough. Holding Jacob, I could feel his heart beating in my hands.
Henry: Well, technically, it was my hand.
Brad: And the way he looked at me, he knew. He knew who I was. But Katie didn't. I couldn't tell her. But I got to touch her face. I want to be with them again. I mean really be with them. I want us to be a family.
Henry: Sorry, Brad. I wish I could help you do that, but it's too late. You're dead.
Brad: Not all the way. I'm not ready to go, Henry. I will be. Look, I just need one more favor.
Henry: No. No, no, no, no, no, no. Possess me once, shame on you. Possess me twice, shame on me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. You're my best friend, Brad, but your all-access pass has been revoked, okay?
Brad: Fine. Fine. I'll find another way to be close to my family.
Henry: Katie's not the only one that needs to move on, you know?
Simon: Shouldn't you be heading off to your brother's wedding?
Katie: I'm hoping to get to the reception if I finish this in time.
Simon: From what you've told me, it would mean a lot to Craig to have you there.
Katie: The ceremony's at the courthouse. No one will miss me.
Simon: Yes, they will. Cleaning, it all can wait.
Katie: No. It's waited long enough. I'm finally ready to move on with my life, so I need to do that by making a clean break with the past. So, I'm not going anywhere until I get rid of --
Simon: Brad's ghost?
Katie: I did not say that.
Simon: Katie, I get it. This place is haunted.
Katie: Not by ghosts, by bath robes and shaving cream and socks! I found this under the bed. Brad was always losing one sock. It drove me crazy. And he would try to hide it by buying another pair and sticking it in the laundry, but I always knew when he was lying, and I hated it, but when I found this -- it just all has to go!
Simon: Okay, okay. I get it. When you say all --
Katie: Hold that thought. Pam, hi. Simon, this is Pam, my real-estate agent. I'm putting the house on the market. The sooner, the better.
Carly: You be good to my sister, Craig.
Craig: I will. I love her. Johnny loves her. And I've learned from my mistakes.
Carly: That's all anyone could ask. Good luck.
Craig: Thank you.
Johnny: It's time.
Rosanna: Right. Are you ready to do this? Okay. Let's go.
Judge: Mr. Montgomery, if you would repeat after me.
Craig: Actually, we've written our own vows, if you don't mind.
Judge: Be my guest.
Craig: Thank you. Rosanna, you and Johnny are my family. It should have been that way a long time ago, but it's not too late. I promise to give you all the love and family and protection you deserve. These people are a part of that, 'cause I'm gonna need them to keep me in line, make sure I don't mess up. I love you with all my heart, and I will not fail you again.
Judge: Ms. Cabot. Rosanna, it's your turn.
Craig: It's okay. I'm nervous, too. Just say what's in your heart.
Rosanna: I, uh -- I do love you, Craig, and I love what we've shared in terms of our dream of having a family and building a life out of the mistakes of the past, and I believe you meant every word that you said, and I'll always treasure how that makes me feel, but I also know that you've never once looked at me the way you were looking at Carly a few minutes ago.
Katie: The house is solid. It's built on love. I just can't live here anymore. So, if I have to take a loss, I'm fine.
Simon: A loss, that's not gonna be necessary. Right, Pam?
Katie: Do you have any questions for me?
Pam: Just one. Why are you so anxious to sell?
Katie: Too many ghosts.
Simon: Her husband passed away recently.
Katie: Pam knew Brad from the station.
Pam: Are you sure about this, Katie?
Katie: Oh, I'm sorry. Excuse me. My son.
Brad: I will be damned if I let you sell my house from underneath me.
Pam: Simon --
Pam: Is the roof gonna collapse on top of us?
Simon: No, this problem doesn't come with the property.
Henry: Oh, thank God I'm not too late.
Simon: Well, a bit, Mate. Do something, Henry, will you?
Henry: No, would you stop? You can't keep doing this. This is not your property anymore!
Brad: Oh, yeah?
Pam: Is he talking to a --
Simon: A ghost? Yeah, that pretty much sums up the situation.
Brad: Not the same ghost, bud!
Katie: What happened?
Craig: Rosanna, I don't know what you think you saw, but I love you.
Rosanna: No, Craig, you don't. You want to love me.
Craig: No, I do love you. I want to marry you.
Rosanna: I know what chemistry looks like, and when you have it, you can't deny it. Everybody in this room knows when you and Carly are together. She's the one that you can't let go of.
Craig: That's not true.
Rosanna: Yes, it is. Yes, it is, and you'll always want her. Maybe you'll never get over her.
Carly: Rosanna, Craig made his choice. Tell her. Tell her that she's just nervous and that once you're married --
Rosanna: There's not going to be a wedding today, Carly. Really. Why postpone the inevitable?
Carly: Don't just stand there! Say something! Make her understand!
Craig: Rosanna, we need to talk, but we can't do it in front of these people. Please?
Janet: I'll catch up to you.
Teri: All right.
Janet: Hey, I'm gonna head over to Metro. You want to ride?
Jack: I'd love to, but I've got to stick around. I'm still on best-man duty.
Janet: Of course.
Judge: I -- I do have a few other things to do this afternoon. What are the odds that you're gonna be needing my services later?
Jack: Slim and none.
Judge: Well, I'll, uh, see you in court, Detective.
Jack: Wait, wait, wait. Where are you going?
Carly: To talk some sense in to my sister.
Jack: That's the last thing you should do.
Craig: We're almost there. All we have to do is go back and let the judge pronounce us man and wife.
Rosanna: I'm sorry, Craig. I can't.
Craig: This is crazy. We love each other.
Rosanna: Yes, but you have unresolved business with Carly.
Craig: Yes, I still do have feelings for Carly.
Rosanna: Well, thank you very much for admitting it.
Craig: But we can't let that get in the way of what we have.
Rosanna: Craig, I'm not angry, okay? I promise you, I'm not. I just cannot marry you because I deserve a man who puts me first in his heart, and you cannot do that.
Craig: Yes, I can.
Rosanna: No, you can't. You just said.
Craig: I have feelings for Carly, but they're residual feelings.
Rosanna: And they're not going away. They may never go away.
Craig: We had an intense relationship, but she went to rehab before we had a chance to deal with it.
Rosanna: You were with her. You loved her. You wanted to marry her. You waited for her.
Craig: And then you came in to my life and you changed all that.
Rosanna: I think all I did was distract you.
Craig: No. You are not some distraction.
Rosanna: Craig, I cannot be second choice.
Craig: Once I realized my feelings for you, there was no other choice.
Rosanna: Listen to me. This is not all your fault, okay? I mean, I -- I never, ever should have let it go this far. I knew you had feelings for Carly. I just -- let myself forget it while she was away. I guess I just wanted so much to have a family, wanted to go back to that time before the accident, when we had Johnny and he was our baby just for a little while and we were a little family. I wanted that. I wanted to get back those years that I lost, and I wanted Johnny to be our son. I wanted to forgive you for the accident, but then --
Rosanna: Then maybe I could stop reliving it in my nightmares.
Craig: But we can have all that back. All we have to do is go back out there and finish what we started.
Rosanna: No. Those are not good enough reasons to get married, Craig. You know that. Come on, you know? Be honest with yourself. I'm right.
Katie: Henry, what are you doing here? And where's Pam?
Simon: Pam? Oh, she had an urgent phone call. She had to leave.
Katie: Did she throw a chair at you on her way out?
Simon: Yeah! She had a really bad attitude as soon as you left the room.
Henry: No, no. Don't look at me like that. Okay. Brad. Brad scared her off.
Brad: Thank you! Captain Kangaroo over there is next.
Katie: I cannot handle this anymore. I'm going to my brother's wedding, alone. And that goes for you, any ghosts who might be listening.
Brad: What did I do?
Simon: You need to fix this, Henry.
Simon: Yes, Mate. You're the one who can see him.
Henry: You say that like it's a good thing.
Simon: Just do it, for Katie's sake, all right? She's gonna have a tough enough time as it is selling this place. Oh, yeah. And, Brad, why would you force her to live someplace that makes her miserable?
Brad: Miserable? Miserable?
Henry: Wait, wait, wait! Simon is right. Simon is right. She is miserable living here. It's like the museum of you, and she shouldn't have to think of her loss every time she picks up a fork or changes a light bulb. That's no way to move on.
Simon: Yeah. Would you rather her not get on with her life? Why do you want her to get stuck here like she's just waiting for you to come home from work? 'Cause that's the life you're forcing her to live!
Brad: I make Katie happy.
Henry: Whoa, whoa. No. You know what? You don't. You don't. I'm sorry.
Katie: Okay. I am out of here.
Brad: That's my dress. I mean, that's the dress that she wore for our first anniversary, our only anniversary.
Henry: You look beautiful, Bubbles, as always.
Katie: Can you watch Jacob for me?
Simon: Yeah. Not a problem at all.
Henry: No, no. Take Simon with you. I can take care of Jacob.
Katie: All right.
Simon: You sure, though?
Simon: Okay, cool. Let's go.
Henry: Relax. I've got everything under control.
Brad: If you think I'm staying here and letting him hit on my wife, you're crazy.
Carly: Let go. Craig is over me, and I can prove it. He passed the test.
Jack: What test? You gave Montgomery a sex test?
Carly: Whatever that means.
Jack: You know exactly what it means. That's why you didn't tell Rosanna that Craig propositioned you. You figured you'd take him up on his offer to see what he would do?
Carly: It was the only way I could prove that he really loves her.
Jack: Oh, Carly. What about you?
Carly: Well, I wasn't gonna go through with it, if that's what you're asking.
Jack: No. Carly, this wedding. It was supposed to be yours. You and Craig.
Carly: I know that.
Jack: Yeah, well, I got to admit, I'm glad it's not.
Carly: I was drawn to Craig because he's the only person in this town who's made more mistakes than I have. We understood that about each other. We didn't pass judgment because we're alike. No matter what I did, it could never be as bad as running Rosanna off the road and nearly killing her. I was needy. He was there, ready and willing to enable. I don't know. Maybe if you'd been there, you -- but let's face it, you and I had been over for a long time. Go. Janet is waiting for you at Metro.
Jack: Are you coming?
Carly: Not until I know my sister's okay.
Rosanna: Well, maybe this will be lucky for somebody else. Look, I meant what I said, Craig. I'm not angry with you, okay? I just want us to be honest with each other. After all the lies that we've told, I mean, don't we owe it to ourselves?
Craig: You're right. We both know we can't erase our pasts. No matter how hard we try, that's just not how it works.
Rosanna: No, it's not.
Craig: But I kept you a prisoner to it, because I refused to acknowledge that I ever did anything wrong to you. But I have. When you discovered that I had switched Jennifer and Gwen's babies, I couldn't let you expose me because I couldn't lose my son, and I swear on my life, I never meant to hurt you, not consciously. I just believed that I had to stop you because I couldn't let you take Johnny from me.
Rosanna: I wasn't trying to take Johnny from you. I was trying to give Jennifer back --
Craig: Please, please. Just let me finish before I lose my nerve. The night I was following you, I just wanted you to stop the car. I knew you were on the phone with Paul. I knew that once you got to him that it would all be over, our marriage, our family -- and my last chance to be a good father. And the faster you drove, the faster I chased you. I panicked. I wasn't thinking. And the more it felt like the world was going to end, the more I needed to stop you and just get you to listen to me. That's all I wanted to do, and it wasn't until I saw you in the hospital that I realized what I'd done. But it was too late. I stole years of your life from you. You could have found someone else. You could have had a family of your own. And I took all those chances from you. I'm so sorry. I won't ask you to forgive me. I don't deserve it. Some things are just unforgivable.
Rosanna: Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting for you to say that? I do forgive you, Craig. I do. I swear I do. Thank you. You know, now we can move on, you know? Even if it has to be from opposite ends of the planet.
Craig: What are you saying?
Rosanna: Well, you just -- you just gave me back my life. You set me free. I can leave now and start my life again somewhere else.
Carly: Tell me you've come to your senses.
Craig: We have. Rosanna's flying to Germany tonight.
Rosanna: Yeah. I got a job offer to be the CEO of a German automotive conglomerate, and, well, I turned it down for obvious reasons, but I've decided to take it. Changed my mind.
Carly: Wait a minute. Half an hour ago you were standing in front of a judge, saying your vows, and now you're leaving the country? Well, what happened? What did you say to her?
Craig: Only what she needed to hear for a long time.
Carly: What does that mean?
Craig: It means we realized we were getting married for the wrong reasons.
Carly: That isn't true. Rosanna, if -- if I have done anything to make you think --
Rosanna: No, no, no, no, no. I'm not upset. I promise you, I'm not upset. I'm not angry. No. This is the right thing to do for all of us.
Carly: But you love her.
Craig: Doesn't mean we're right for each other. Your sister was smart enough to realize it. She was brave enough to say so.
Carly: I thought this was your chance to be happy.
Rosanna: I am happy. I mean, it's been a long time, but I remember what it feels like.
Craig: I want you to have this. It'll always be a part of our family.
Rosanna: Thank you, Craig. I'll cherish it.
Carly: Rosanna, if this is about me --
Rosanna: No. It's not. It's about me. And you know what? It feels good.
Janet: Hi. Did everything go okay at the courthouse?
Jack: I'm sorry for leaving you all alone.
Janet: You didn't.
Dusty: We survived without you.
Janet: And Carly, did she make it through okay?
Jack: I don't want to talk about Carly. You promised to save me a dance.
Katie: Teri, hi.
Katie: Where is everybody?
Teri: Oh, my God. You didn't hear? They didn't go through with the wedding. Rosanna couldn't do it.
Teri: Yeah. Excuse me.
Simon: Hey, is everything all right?
Katie: Rosanna and Craig didn't get married.
Simon: Yeah, I just heard. Well, you don't seem terribly surprised.
Katie: Well, I mean, I was surprised that they got back together in the first place, but I really feel bad for my brother. I thought Rosanna was gonna make him happy. I bet Carly had something to do with this.
Simon: Look, Rosanna and Craig are strong-willed individuals. If they wanted to get married, Carly couldn't stop them.
Katie: Yeah, of course you would say that. Oh. You know, who I really feel bad for is Johnny. He was so excited to have a mom and a dad.
Simon: Well, one parent is better than two that don't want to be together.
Katie: Sometimes that's not a choice. Well, obviously there's not gonna be a reception, so I'm gonna go home.
Simon: I think you need to relax. Just for a moment. One dance.
Katie: No. No. I can't!
Simon: Katie, please. All I'm asking is for just one dance.
Simon: Come on. Relax, relax, relax. It's not so bad, is it?
Katie: I do remember everything about dancing with you.
Simon: Me too.
Henry: Uh, here. Show the kid how it's done. Okay? Listen to me, this is a dance!
Brad: I have to stop this! He's trying to steal my wife, Henry!
Henry: How many times do I have to say this? She is not your wife anymore.
Brad: You don't think I know that? Listen to me. I wish I was dead. Okay, you know, I mean like dead, dead. I mean, like, really dead. Anything is better than to have to watch Katie forget that I ever existed.
Henry: That is impossible.
Brad: I can't do this anymore, man. I can't stand it. I can't do it. Please, please, please let me borrow your body one more time. Let me have at least one last dance with my wife, please. Please.
Henry: Brad, I am sorry. The answer is still no.
Jack: What's wrong with Henry?
Henry: He is your brother. Would you please talk to -- ow! Look, would you -- ooh!
Jack: What the hell was that?
Henry: You don't want to know.
Jack: Yeah? Yeah, I do. Why in the hell were you yelling at me about my brother?
Henry: Because he's here.
Henry: Yeah, well, what's left of him. He's -- oh, that's just typical! Thanks a lot! That's what he does. He pops in and out like a ghost.
Jack: You know what? You need to sober up quick, okay, Pal?
Henry: I'm not dru-- look, you don't have to believe me.
Jack: I don't. Margo told me you were seeing things. I just assumed you were trying to lighten things up for Katie.
Henry: What, by telling her I'm hanging out with her dead husband?
Jack: Excuse me. He's also my brother.
Henry: I know. I'm sorry.
Jack: You're supposed to be Katie's friend. How could you play such a cruel trick on everybody like this?
Henry: What are you tal-- do you think I knocked my own self on my butt there? Look, he was here. It's your brother, Jack, okay? Look, if you don't believe me, ask Simon and Katie. They'll tell you it's the truth.
Teri: Hey, this is gonna help with the swelling, all right?
Henry: Hey, that's great. That's just not exactly where it hurts, though. Ow.
Katie: Take Jacob home.
Simon: You're not coming with us?
Katie: I have to do something first.
Katie: Don't worry, Simon. I'll be fine. Or at least I will be once I deal with what's happening for me, once and for all.
Carly: I feel like I just got you back and now you're walking away again.
Rosanna: That's not what I'm doing. Look, I am finally free to live my life, to have a future that doesn't revolve around regret or revenge. I'm free to just sort of see what happens. I'm so looking forward to that. It's been so long since I've felt that way about anything. I want you to have this, okay? I know it's silly, but I was gonna toss it to you anyway at the reception. Knowing you, you would have fought for it.
Carly: You know me. I do love to win.
Carly: But don't you dare get any ideas. I have no intention of ever getting married again.
Rosanna: Oh, come on, now. Never say "Never." Listen, whatever you do, promise me you are not going to settle. You go after what you want, okay? That's the Carly I know and love.
Janet: Do you believe it?
Jack: I didn't. I thought I was crazy. But you saw what happened. One thing I know for sure is that Henry believes it.
Janet: Well, is there anything I can do?
Jack: No. I should go.
Janet: Jack --
Jack: I'm sorry I didn't get to finish that dance.
Rosanna: Do you mind if I come in? So, I guess your daddy told you, huh? Well, it looks like I'm not gonna be your mommy, but I will always, always -- promise you, always be your friend. And we can stay in touch and call each other and e-mail and video chat and all that cool stuff, okay? And maybe when you get a little older, you can come and visit me in Germany. In the meantime, I need you to do me a favor, okay? I need you to look after your daddy, 'cause he needs you very, very much. He can't do without you. He needs you to look after him 'cause he loves you so much. He's never, ever gonna leave you, okay? I promise you that. Okay? Okay. Now, um -- come here. You do me a favor? Will you give your daddy and me a few minutes here to say good-bye? Okay.
Craig: I don't regret a minute of it.
Rosanna: Neither do I.
Dusty: Let's dance.
Janet: Party's over.
Dusty: I'm the boss. I say when it's over.
Janet: Are you ordering me to dance with you?
Dusty: Night's over. You're off duty.
Henry: You know, for a ghost, you sure fight dirty.
Brad: Serves you right for not letting me dance with Katie.
Henry: This is real life, not dancing with the dead, okay? Your footloose days are over, Bradley, and the sooner that you accept that, the better. Bubbles.
Katie: I need your help, Henry. I want to talk to Brad.
Jack: I'm waiting, Brother. Where the hell are you? You're haunting Katie and Henry, even Simon, when I should be the one you're after. I killed you. I put a bullet in your chest and I ripped your life out from under you. Because of me, you'll never meet your son! He's gonna spend the rest of his life wondering what kind of man you were because I didn't do my job, 'cause I couldn't protect you. So, come on, where are you? Torment me, forgive me, or give me something! I can't stand the silence! What do I do? Huh? Tell me what to do.
Carly: Jack. Come on. Let's go home.
Next week on "As the World Turns."
Katie: So, please just go and leave me alone! Brad did that.
Henry: He wants you to stay.
Casey: Alison, will you marry me?
Barbara: That scar. That's the same scar that James had after Paul shot him. How is that possible?
Mick: Now you're asking the right questions.
Meg: They want to keep me locked up in here.
Paul: Meg, they're not gonna do that to you, okay? I won't let them. I promise.
