Dusty: See you later.

Teri: Wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait. Hey, boss, wait.

Dusty: I told you to stop calling me that.

Teri: I know, but listen. I just have a few ideas I want to run past you.

Dusty: Ideas? I've owned the place for less than eight hours.

Teri: I know -- just a few notes.

Dusty: I'll look at it later.

Teri: Make your life so much easier. If you want to manage Metro --

Dusty: No, I don't want to manage the place. I donít.

Teri: Then why did you buy it?

Dusty: It's a good investment.

Teri: Oh, just business. Okay.

Katie: Don't do this.

Margo: No, no, no, no. Out, out.

Katie: How is locking up Simon gonna help anyone?

Margo: He's a fugitive. Law-abiding citizens around the world will feel safer with him behind bars.

Katie: He hasn't done anything illegal lately.

Margo: Oh, oh. Well, then, by all means, go, go. Just how do you know he hasn't done anything lately?

Simon: She doesnít. She doesnít. Katie has no knowledge of my activities legal or otherwise.

Katie: He's been good to me, Margo. He's helped me with Jacob. Ever since Simon's been here, I haven't felt so -- overwhelmed.

Margo: All right. I will be back in a minute. There are a lot of cops out here who were instructed to use any means necessary to stop you if you try to escape.

Simon: I'll keep that in mind.

Katie: I'm gonna get you out of here.

Brad: Simon's probably getting his mug shot taken right now, and once he's locked away, it'll just be me, Katie, and the baby -- the way it's supposed to be.

Henry: Only it's not your home anymore because you don't live there anymore because you don't live anywhere anymore because you're not alive anymore, Brad. You're dead.

Brad: I am still here, and Simon's gone, and that's all that matters.

Henry: For you. What about Katie?

Brad: I am all that she needs.

Henry: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's every widow's dream -- a ghost husband who is a vindictive, selfish bully.

Carly: You just missed Jack.

Janet: I didn't come here to talk to Jack. Cozy.

Carly: It wasn't my idea for Jack to sleep here. The kids were upset about Simon being back in town after what happened between him and me the last time. Jack just wanted to reassure them.

Janet: He told me.

Carly: Oh. Good. I keep telling Jack that he should go home and work on your marriage.

Janet: That's nice of you to instruct my husband.

Carly: [Laughs] Let me understand this. Jack left you, and the person that you're mad at is me?

Janet: You know, I can't quite figure out with all this hand-holding and couch-offering whether you are really helping Jack and me or if you're just in the way.

Jack: I found Simon, and I asked him to come back here.

Margo: Oh, you did that? Why?

Jack: For Katie.

Margo: What? That guy has broken her heart I don't know how many times.

Jack: You saw her after the funeral. I was scared. And so were you.

Margo: So you thought that somehow this would be better for Katie?

Jack: Brad's dead because of me. Katie was hurting because of me. I had to do something.

Margo: Ohh. I wish to hell you'd done something else. You consorted with a known felon, and now I have to put him away and break my little sister's heart again?

Katie: Maybe if I create a distraction, you could escape.

Simon: I'm not running.

Katie: Why not?

Simon: Because I didn't come here to do anything wrong. Katie, I came here for you. Okay, and making some grand escape, it's gonna feel like I'm running out on you again. I'm not gonna do that.

Katie: I don't want you to go to jail.

Simon: And I don't want you to think for one moment that you're not important to me. Listen, Honey, I -- I heard you were in trouble. That's why I came back. And even cuffed to this table, I don't regret it for second. Come on. You've got enough on your plate without worrying about me right now.

Katie: But you were just trying to be nice to me, and now they're gonna lock you up forever.

Simon: Man, I can't believe I've botched this already.

Katie: Botched what?

Simon: [Scoffs] I messed up your life so many times. You know, I thought, "I'll try a new approach. I'll try the old night-in-shining-armor routine." Look where that gets me. Should have just sent you a condolence card.

Margo: Where was Simon when you found him?

Jack: Can't say.

Margo: Was he planning another heist?

Jack: Don't know.

Margo: What are you -- friends? I mean, why are you protecting him?

Jack: The guy seduced Carly into a life of crime, then took her off to places unknown. My family still hasn't recovered. So, no, I despise the guy.

Margo: Then why are you helping him?

Jack: It's not him I'm helping.

Carly: Jack and I are friends now. That's all.

Janet: What kind of friend chases a guy across country after he's abandoned his wife?

Carly: I didn't chase anybody. I was trying to get him to come home.

Janet: And then just as a "Friends," of course, you managed to spend the night in a motel room in Pittsburgh with him.

Carly: You were there? Oh, God! Why didn't you say something? Why didn't you come in?

Janet: Oh, I didn't want to interrupt.

Carly: There was nothing to interrupt, Janet! Jack needed you! You just walked away?

Janet: Don't pretend like you care about my marriage. I know you donít.

Carly: I got Jack to come home for Thanksgiving to you.

Janet: Ohh. That was for me.

Carly: Yes!

Janet: Well, then why is he spending more time with you than he is with me?

Carly: I have no idea.

Janet: I think I have a clue. It's because Craig left you for your sister, and that's got to hurt.

Carly: That has nothing to do with this.

Janet: Then let's be honest. It's much better to turn to another man, right? Even if he is taken.

Carly: I am not trying to take Jack from you.

Janet: I waited a long time to meet a guy like Jack, but you -- you change men like you change your clothes, and heaven knows you never have an empty closet.

Carly: I have a meeting to go to.

Janet: An AA meeting?

Carly: Yeah. 'Cause I'm a drunk, and you're not -- another reason you're a much better wife for Jack than I ever was. Get out.

Janet: Carly.

Carly: Save it. I'm not gonna give Jack any more messages from you. You want to talk to your husband, give him a call. Leave me alone.

Teri: Hey, I just really want you to know how grateful I am.

Dusty: Why?

Teri: Because this is my dream job. I mean, I've always wanted to be a high-class chef in a five-star restaurant.

Dusty: Five-star?

Teri: Sure. Metro is gonna get there, thanks to you for outbidding that sports-bar moron. This is the best job I've ever had, Boss.

Dusty: Stop calling me boss.

Teri: Sorry.

Dusty: And stop watching me.

Teri: What? No, I'm not. I'm sorry. Okay -- sure. But do you want to go over those suggestions now? On second thought, actually, I'm just gonna -- I'm just gonna go to the kitchen and like -- go to the kitchen.

Brad: What is so selfish about me wanting to be with my wife and kid?

Henry: Uh, I don't know. When Katie cries, can you put your arm around her?

Brad: I touch her all the time. She just can't feel me.

Henry: Oh, okay. Can you hold her hand when she's lonely?

Brad: Look, I am gonna find a way to make her feel me.

Henry: Really? Can you have breakfast with her? Can you feed the baby? Can you change him?

Brad: I make faces at him all the time. He laughs sometimes.

Henry: R-really? That's great. And is that supposed to help Katie out for the rest of her life, Brad?

Brad: This was supposed to be our life -- our life. And it still can be. I'm gonna make it happen, or I'm gonna die trying. All right, you know what I mean. Okay, if you -- if you love Katie the way you say you do, you will make her see that I'm still here.

Henry: What good is that gonna do?

Brad: Then she can decide for herself whether she wants me here -- or she wants me gone.

Simon: You know, it's funny. These cuffs aren't nearly as uncomfortable as that time we were tied up together.

Katie: You never would have gotten out of that cellar without me.

Simon: And some very intriguing body contortions. Hey, listen. You got anything else down your blouse that maybe I can use to pick this lock? Come here. Let me have a look.

Katie: Don't you dare. I am a mother now.

Simon: You know, people go through their whole lives without getting arrested or kidnapped. They live these happy, ordinary lives working 9:00 to 5:00, raising kids.

Katie: Probably sounds amazingly boring to you, huh?

Simon: Used to. Let me ask you a question. Is me being here helping?

Katie: Hmm. I guess I didn't realize how much I needed someone around until you were here.

Simon: Just someone?

Katie: I needed someone I could yell at without worrying about hurting their feelings.

Simon: Feelings are overrated.

Katie: I needed you. Thank you for coming.

Simon: You're welcome.

Katie: Don't go.

Simon: It seems my hands are tied.

Katie: You can't take Simon away. Please, please, please, Margo. Don't let them take him away.

Margo: I'm going to have to contact Interpol since you're on their wanted list, not mine. Obviously I don't deal with international law everyday, so it's gonna take time to make sure it's done right.

Katie: Right, and you're -- always so busy. They can't expect you just to drop everything that you're working on right now for something like this.

Margo: No. And since we don't know how long it will take, I'm forced to release Simon until we get an actual warrant.

Katie: Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you so much.

Simon: I really appreciate this, Margo.

Margo: Yes, well, you'd better. Because I can't speed up the process anytime I deem necessary. So if you even so much as jaywalk, I will have you prosecuted.

Simon: I will even help old ladies cross the road.

Margo: And if you do anything to hurt Katie --

Katie: He wonít.

Margo: No, he wonít. Because there aren't enough cops in Interpol to save you if you mess with my little sister.

Simon: Got it.

Margo: So, I'll release your personal effects, and you can go.

Katie: [Sighs]

Margo: Did we do the right thing?

Jack: Hell if I know.

Teri: Hey, Jan! I was just coming to see you. Wait a second. Your shift isn't over yet.

Janet: I can't take anymore.

Teri: Oh, why? What's going on?

Janet: Oh, you know, my husband's gone, my daughter's mad at the world -- the usual. You look happy.

Teri: Oh, I just came from the farmers' market, and I got these amazing leeks and peppers and beautiful, beautiful beets I can't wait to cook.

Janet: Yeah, I don't think vegetables is what put that smile on your face.

Teri: Well, I did get a new boss.

Janet: What? What happened to Carly?

Teri: She sold the place to Dusty.

Janet: When?

Teri: Just this morning. That's why she was at Metro earlier.

Janet: Yeah, I remember.

Teri: Yeah, so if you want to get that second waitressing job, you should go talk to Dusty about it.

Janet: Wait. Hold on a second. You're okay with this? I thought you couldn't stand Dusty.

Teri: Well, I mean, now that he basically bought me a restaurant --

Janet: He bought you a restaurant?

Teri: Okay, no, it's not exactly like that. But he did outbid this guy from out of town who was gonna turn it into this all-you-can-eat nachos, mud-wrestling, like, mechanical-bull bar. Ugh So he totally saved my life.

Janet: By buying a restaurant? Yeah. That's an awful lot of money to spend just to make somebody happy.

Teri: Well, he's not admitting that that's the reason that he did it, but I can tell. And now I have this amazing boss and amazing kitchen, and my life just can't get much better than this.

Simon: Listen, I'm guessing you had something to do with this, Mate, so, thank you.

Jack: I did it for Katie.

Simon: Well, we have that in common, then.

Jack: Just remember that while you're in town, stay away from my family. That's the only warning you're gonna get.

Katie: Ready to go?

Simon: I promise you both my hands will remain clean. Let's go.

Margo: You don't trust him.

Jack: Neither do you. So I'll keep an eye on him.

Margo: Yeah, right. Well, I guess it's better than Katie believing that Brad's ghost is still trying to reach out to her.

Jack: That's what she thinks? Why would she think that?

Margo: It's Henry. Henry put that in her head. I mean, she didn't believe it at first, but she is so raw right now.

Jack: She thinks she saw Brad's ghost?

Margo: No, Jack. She wants to believe that Brad is still with her, that he still, you know, hears her and sees her. I'm so sorry. How are you doing, Jack?

Jack: I'm okay.

Margo: Good, good. Good enough to come back to work?

Jack: Uh, well, you know how internal affairs is.

Margo: I do, I do. And I also know that they cleared you of any wrongdoing in Brad's death. And I know you got the memo. Come on, Jack. You're the best detective I've got.

Jack: I doubt that.

Margo: You found Simon, didn't you? [Sighs] Come on. Don't you miss it?

Jack: [Sighs] Yeah. Sure. I'll be back soon.

Margo: Okay. When you're ready. When you're ready.

Simon: I'm starving. How about you?

Katie: Yeah, I could eat. What are you in the mood for?

Simon: How about fresh air? Let's go out.

Katie: Oh, I don't know.

Simon: Come on. We can finally be seen in public. And Jacobís always up for a walk. Aren't you, Mate?

Katie: Yeah, I just don't know if I'm up for it. And we need to talk about some things.

Simon: Okay. We can talk in the restaurant.

Brad: So, you're with me on this, right? Simon's a crook. He deserves to be in jail.

Katie: Henry, hi.

Henry: Hi.

Brad: What's he still doing here?

Henry: I heard you got arrested.

Simon: Oh, yeah, Mate. I got off on a technicality. They don't call this the land of the free for nothing.

Brad: How the hell does he get away with everything?

Henry: And you're okay with this?

Katie: Yeah. To be honest, I'm relieved.

Brad: Katie, no. Get the baby and get away from this guy. He's no good.

Katie: Oh, we were just about to eat. Do you want to join us?

Brad: I can't stand this.

Simon: You are not gonna cook. If you don't want to go out, how about I go get some take-out?

Katie: Oh, I would love that. Thank you.

Simon: Yeah? All right. Be right back.

[Door closes]

Henry: So, are you really happy about this?

Katie: Yeah, I am. Because Simon's my friend. Don't look at me like that, Henry. You know I still love Brad.

Henry: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That goes without saying. You always will. Uh, but you can't hold on to him.

Katie: Yes, I can. He's the father of my baby.

Henry: He's gone, Sweetie.

Katie: I know, but --

Henry: No, no. [Sighs] Okay, no, no, no, no, no. I-I-I -- this is partly my fault. I shouldn't come in with all that ghost stuff. Um, I should have just kept my mouth shut.

Katie: Can I ask you something? Do you still see him? Brad's ghost? Does he still talk to you?

Henry: Grab the baby. You're coming with me.

Simon: Hi.

Carly: Hi.

Simon: Hi.

Carly: I-I knew you were back. Still it's a shock to see you.

Simon: Trust me. It's, uh -- it's still a shock to be here. You looking for someone?

Carly: Jack's wife. She's a waitress here, and we sort of got into it a bit earlier.

Simon: Well, I've only just seen the one waitress.

Carly: I'm safe then. Are you sorry you came back?

Simon: Well, I did just spend a harrowing hour or two at the police station. But in the end, Margo let me go.

Carly: How did you manage that?

Simon: I didnít. Jack did. He seemed to convince Margo that I'm good for Katie -- at least for the moment.

Carly: Jack Snyder went to bat for you? Imagine that.

Simon: I know. Bizarro world.

Carly: Hmm.

Simon: He did warn me very, very sternly, though, to stay away from you.

Carly: Did he?

Simon: Mm. I was a little surprised at how much it seemed to matter to him -- you know, considering that he's married to someone else and all now.

Carly: Don't start.

Simon: Just an observation.

Carly: How's Katie?

Simon: She's amazing. Well, when I say that, she's obviously grieving pretty hard right now and going through a rough patch, but, uh, she's still Katie, you know -- kind, sweet, funny, and the way she is with Jacob is --

Carly: Amazing.

Simon: Yeah.

Carly: Sounds to me like you're falling in love with her all over again.

Carly: Thank you.

Simon: I am here purely as Katie's friend. That's it.

Carly: Mm-hmm.

Simon: Mm-hmm.

Carly: But you want more.

Simon: [Scoffs] What I want is of no consequence.

Carly: Since when?

Simon: Listen. Some things are unattainable -- even for me.

Carly: Does Katie know how you feel?

Simon: Look, honestly. I haven't even thought about it until you start stirring this pot right now. I guess in some way I've never really stopped loving her.

Carly: Wait a minute. A couple of years ago you pledged your undying love to me. If you were never over her, what was that about?

Simon: All right. And when did you precisely get over Jack.

Carly: Shut up. So, if you've always loved Katie, then why did you leave her in the first place?

Simon: I didn't want to pull her into a life on the road.

Carly: But you could do it to me?

Simon: [Sighs] I am sorry I dragged you through all that.

Carly: You didn't drag me into anything, Simon. I jumped in. More than willingly. I thought I was gonna save you. And I lost everything.

Simon: And I really, at the time, couldn't grasp what you had -- kids, the home -- how extraordinary an everyday life can be.

Carly: And now?

Simon: I guess I know.

Katie: I don't want to be here. It's too cold for Jacob.

Henry: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Listen. I happen to know that Jacob loves the cold. It puts him to right to sleep. What do you know? He's asleep. You need to see this.

Katie: I've seen Brad's grave before.

Henry: He's there, Katie, and he's not coming back.

Katie: Don't you think I know that?

Henry: Knowing it and believing it -- that's two different things. I need you to believe that he's really gone.

Katie: Why?

Henry: Because -- Bubbles, you deserve to have your own life.

Katie: Oh, this is about Simon, isn't it? Don't -- don't do that. I can't just forget about Brad and move on with Simon because he happens to be available.

Henry: No, listen. No one knows better than me that Brad was one of a kind. But he died, Sweetie. You didnít. And your son needs you to raise him.

Katie: I still don't know why we're here.

Henry: I need you to talk to Brad. I need you to tell him that you're not looking in the past anymore. You're looking forward.

Katie: Wait. Brad's here? Where is he?

Henry: Yeah, he is, he is. He's over here. No amount of wishing is gonna bring him back. Say goodbye, Sweetheart. Let him go.

Katie: Brad -- Sweetheart. [Voice breaking] I canít. I can't say goodbye to him. I'm sorry. I can't do it. I can't do it.

Brad: Damn.

Mary: Is that a good place to eat?

Brad: Were you talking to me? You were talking to me! Mary? Is that your name -- Mary? Wait, wait. Um -- are you dead? How did you die? No, hey. You don't have to answer the question if you don't want to. I mean, me -- um, my brother shot me. It was an accident. You know -- you know, he's Jack. He's my brother. He's a cop, and he was aiming at a bad guy who was trying to hurt my wife and my kid, and I just -- stupid. I was in the way. Can you say something else, please?

Mary: Do you know how to get out of here?

Brad: You mean Old Town? You mean earth? How long have you been here?

Mary: What year is this?

Janet: Hey. What's your angle?

Dusty: My what?

Janet: I just saw my sister. What do you think you're doing?

Dusty: With what?

Janet: With my sister! What are your intentions? Huh? I mean, is this -- you got a little secret thing going on here?

Dusty: What are you talking about?

Janet: Because there is no way I'm gonna let my sister get pulled into something sleazy.

Dusty: The only thing I've pulled her into is the job she already had. Unless you know something I donít.

Janet: Oh, please. Men. You're all alike. Just when you think you can trust them, they end up letting you down, and you wind up getting hurt.

Dusty: Sounds like you're talking about something more than your sister getting her job back.

Janet: Aren't we?

Dusty: No.

Janet: Really?

Dusty: I bought a restaurant, kept your sister employed. I have a headache. That's it.

Janet: Well, it's just that, uh, it's my sister, you know, and she's alone, and you can't be too careful. I should know.

Dusty: What are you talking about? Jack's home. You're not alone. You want a drink?

Janet: Water.

Dusty: Coming right up.

Carly: How long will you stay?

Simon: I've got nowhere I have to be, no one waiting -- except Interpol.

Carly: And what about the glamorous life, huh? The flashy jewels and the rest?

Simon: It's funny. Spending time with Katie and Jacob -- I don't miss it at all. That's crazy, right?

Carly: Mm. I've lived that other life, and I've lived carpools and the homework and soccer games. And I can tell you that nothing would ever get me to leave my children again.

Simon: [Sighs] So these feelings I'm having? They're permanent?

Carly: If you're lucky.

Waitress: Here you go, Sir.

Simon: Great. Thank you very much. Well, listen. It was so great seeing you.

Carly: Yeah.

Simon: You really are an outstanding woman, Carly Tenney.

Carly: Oh, don't flirt with me, Frasier.

Simon: Come on. There's plenty of love to go around.

Carly: [Laughs] I'm not surprised.

Jack: You gave me your word.

Carly: Jack, Simon and I just ran into each other. We were talking --

Jack: I put my reputation on the line to stick up for you, and all I asked was that you leave Carly alone.

Simon: I know. I was just here picking up some food. We were just saying goodbye.

Jack: You expect me to believe that?

Carly: Yes, it's the truth. Jack, you think that I would start something with Simon again?

Jack: Carly, you didn't go chasing after him the first time. The guy lied to you. He used you. That's what he does.

Simon: Why do you always talk to her like she can't think for herself?

Jack: No, no. Don't play that card with me. I know that Carly can think for herself. She's a very smart woman. But I'm just trying to keep my family from being ripped apart again.

Simon: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Carly's not going anywhere, all right? Please. Give her some credit. She came back to her family last time on her own accord. Now, she's not going to go running off again just 'cause we're in the same room together.

Jack: This was a really stupid idea, wasn't it? You're not gonna leave her alone, are you? It's what you do. You push and push and push --

Simon: And you're the resident judge and jury --

Jack: You get what you want!

Simon: Still punishing her for mistakes she made years ago. You know what? From what I hear, you're in no position to judge anyone.

Carly: Oh! Oh! Jack!

Janet: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I went off on you like that.

Dusty: I'm used to it. Sometimes I deserve it.

Janet: Not always.

Dusty: No. Metro is strictly a business proposition, and Teri's strictly an employee. No strings attached.

Janet: Good. 'Cause, you know, this job means everything to her. So please don't tell her what I said or did. Please?

Dusty: Said or did about what?

Janet: Thank you, Dusty.

Dusty: Hey, Janet, how long have you been, uh, in the restaurant business?

Janet: Gosh, since before Liberty was born.

Dusty: How'd you like to manage the place?

Janet: You want me to manage this place?

Dusty: Well, I would need you to act as hostess, as well -- be the face behind the establishment.

Janet: Well, I -- but I -- I-I've only ever waitressed, though.

Dusty: And you could be here to keep your sister in line. What do you think? Would you think about it?

Janet: Think about it? Hell, what's there to think about? When do I start?

Dusty: [Laughs] As soon as you change and get back here.

Janet: Ooh! Poof, I'm gone!

Dusty: [Laughs]

Janet: Yay!

Henry: I'm sorry I did this. I -- I love you so much, and I -- it seems like everything I do, I just make your life harder, and I just want you to be okay.

Katie: I want that, too. Oh. You know, you'd think that if you've been to a place, it would be so easy to get back there.

Henry: I'm not following.

Katie: I loved Brad so much. And I chose to share my life with him. He should not have become my life, but he did. I need to find myself again, but I don't know how to do it. I'm just scared. I don't know how to do it. No matter how hard I try, I canít.

Henry: You will. You will. Trust me.

Katie: How? I don't know how. And just looking at this piece of stone and trying to say goodbye to it and put an end on everything that I felt for Brad, it just is so -- maybe if I can see him like you do.

Henry: Sweetie, I'm the crazy one here, not you, okay? That's not gonna work. We're gonna have to figure out something else.

Katie: [Sighs] I don't think I can do that.

Brad: Sometimes if I concentrate really hard, you know, if I think really hard, if I get really mad, I can move things. But that doesn't do me any good because what I really want to do is I want to talk to my wife. I want to be able to hold my son. If I could just -- if I could just kiss Katie. Do you think that if -- maybe if I'm here long enough, and I practice every day, that I'll be able to talk to her the way I can talk to Henry? That doesn't do me any good. She's -- see, she's with this -- she's with this guy, and this guy is no good. I have to be able to get through to her about that.

Mary: You can use an intermediary.

Brad: What's that? How does that work?

Mary: Use your friend. The one who can see you.

Brad: Keep talking, Mary.

Henry: [Sighs]

Brad: Oh! I have a plan!

Henry: Great. That's great. You can tell me about it later.

Brad: No, this can't wait. This can't wait. This is it. Okay, this is the answer. Are you listening?

Henry: If I listen, will you go away?

Brad: Absolutely. Right after you say, "Yes."

Henry: Yes to what?

Brad: I have been doing some research about the, you know, how-to-talk-to-Katie thing, and the way it works is, you get a friend, and for a while, you zoom into their body.

Henry: No.

Brad: It doesn't hurt. I mean, no permanent damage.

Henry: No.

Brad: All I have to do is be inside just for a little while. So, can you do it?

Henry: No.

Brad: Come on. Just a little quick jump-in. I talked to Katie, get her to kick Simon out, and then -- and then we're done.

Henry: No. You are not jumping into my body, you are not taking over my body, you are not talking through my body. My body is my temple. It is a sacred space. No outsiders -- no!

Carly: Stop it!

Cop: Break it up! Break it up!

Carly: Stop!

Cop: Hey, what's going on, Jack?

Jack: Nothing. Just a personal beef.

Cop: And this guy threw the first punch?

Simon: I was getting some food.

Cop: Didn't I see you down at the station before?

Simon: Yeah, you did. Oh, so I guess you're gonna believe everything he says.

Carly: No, he's believe me. Aren't you, Steve? How's your family?

Cop: Carly, are you saying that --

Carly: I'll explain everything to you, okay, and the waitress will back me up. Right? The short story is, Simon had nothing to do with this. Go. I'll take care of this, okay?

Simon: It's good to see you.

Teri: Hey, you wanted to see me?

Dusty: I looked over your ideas. It took me a while.

Teri: What did you think?

Dusty: Some were good.

Teri: Well, good. Listen, I'm just prepping for dinner tonight. Do you want to come in the kitchen, try some entrees --?

Dusty: No, thanks. I just wanted to let you know that things are gonna be changing around here.

Teri: Why?

Dusty: Well, I hired your sister.

Teri: Oh, as a new waitress.

Dusty: As your new boss. She's going to be managing the place.

Teri: What? You're kidding.

Dusty: No, I don't have the time to do it.

Teri: When is she gonna start?

Janet: Hi! I'm back! What do you think? Is this the look you were going for?

Dusty: Beyond.

Janet: All right! Well, you know, I am the manager now, so I have to look the part. Can you believe it? We're gonna be working together.

Teri: Yeah, I never saw it coming.

[Cell phone ringing]

Janet: Oh, hold on. Hold on. Sorry. Hello? H -- what? He -- okay. I'll be right there.

Dusty: What's going on?

Janet: I'm so sorry, Dusty. I got to go. It's an emergency with my husband.

Dusty: Oh, that's okay. Go ahead. We got it covered.

Teri: What happened? What happened? Is -- is Jack --

Janet: Don't worry. I'll call you later, okay?

Simon: You want to talk about it?

Katie: No.

Simon: Okay. All right, then we'll just talk about -- oh, the economic climate. Wow. Football scores --

Katie: Henry took me to the cemetery.

Simon: Well, that's odd even for Henry.

Katie: He wanted me to say goodbye to Brad.

Simon: Did you?

Katie: I couldn't do it. I know I should probably be ready. Maybe it's time, but I just -- I couldn't do it.

Simon: Hey, it's okay.

Katie: No, it's not. Henry thinks that I should get on with my life. So does my sister, so do you.

Simon: All right, listen. Tell me something. [Clears throat] Who fell first -- you or Brad?

Katie: Why are you asking me that?

Simon: Come on. Who?

Katie: Him.

Simon: Okay. And I bet he wooed you, chased you, begged, pleaded.

Katie: Constantly.

Simon: And when did you first know you loved him?

Katie: Uh -- it took a while, a long while. Then I just knew.

Simon: When you're ready. You can't force these things, Katie. You're gonna know when to let go when you're ready.

Katie: And where are you gonna be while I'm figuring it out -- Monte Carlo, the Riviera?

Simon: I'm gonna be right here, for as long as I'm welcome.

Brad: Can't we at least talk about this?

Henry: Yeah, yeah, sure! From over there -- from way over there.

Brad: Come on. Don't be so paranoid.

Henry: Brad, you cannot have my body, okay? If I have to, I'll have you exorcised or ghostbustered, or whatever, and you'll never see Katie again.

Brad: Okay, okay. Okay, you're right, you're right. It was a dumb idea. I mean, no one in their right mind would want to let somebody take over their body.

Henry: That is the first sane thing you've said in a long time.

Brad: I'm just -- I'm so desperate, man. You know how it is. What would you give to be able to talk to Vienna again right now?

Henry: Anything.

Brad: And she's thousands of miles away.

Henry: Maybe more than that. I have no idea where she is.

Brad: But in my case, I mean, Katie -- she's right here.

Henry: [Sighs]

Brad: And being able to see her and not touch her -- I never thought anything could be so painful.

Henry: Look, we are, uh -- we're both wiped out right now, okay? Can we table this? And I'm gonna take a nap, and then you pop out to wherever it is you pop out to, and we can talk about this later, all right?

Brad: Okay.

Henry: I'm sorry, Brad. [Sighs]

Brad: Me too, pal. Me too.

Jack: Disturbing the peace, assault, what?

Margo: I'm not gonna charge you with anything. I had Hansen bring you down here so you could cool off. Was Simon hurt?

Carly: No, he's fine. And he does not want to press charges.

Janet: Jack! I got a call from Mindy at Al's. Are you okay? What happened?

Jack: Simon happened. I saw him hugging Carly, and I went ballistic.

Janet: And to think I walked out on a new job because I was worried about you.

Jack: Did you get a new job?

Janet: Forget about the job, Jack. Forget about it. I don't know what you want anymore. Obviously it's not me or our marriage.

Jack: No, Honey, that's wrong. I love you. I'm just -- I'm going through some stuff right now.

Janet: I know. I know you're going through some stuff. You keep saying that. But now I'm gonna listen. You know how I asked you to come home earlier. I've changed my mind. Stay away from me.

On the next "As the World Turns" --

Henry: Brad! Brad. You get out of my body, okay? You are not allowed to hijack my body, okay? That isn't right.

Katie: Are you feeling okay? You're acting a little weird.

Damian: Somebody help me!

Meg: We all believed that you were dead. But Damian knew you werenít. He knew you were alive all along.
