Jack: Oh, God.

Carly: Good morning.

Jack: What happened?

Carly: [Sighs] You woke up.

Jack: Oh, no. Oh -- I mean this. How did we end up like this?

Carly: Like what, Jack?

Jack: In bed, Carly. We didn't?

Carly: If we had, you'd remember it. Trust me.

Jack: [Groans] How much did I have to drink?

Carly: Do you mean before or after we came back here?

Jack: Carly --

Carly: Okay. It's all right. Just think about it. What's the last thing you remember?

Jack: Simon. We lost Simon. Where the hell is he, Carly?

Carly: I don't know.

Jack: How the hell did Simon Frasier walk out of here without either of us noticing?

Carly: Where are you going?

Jack: He's certainly not gonna leave empty-handed! Simon. Answer me! I cannot believe this.

Carly: He's gone, Jack.

Jack: Oh, you really think so, Carly?!

Carly: I know you're upset. You don't have to yell.

Jack: Yes, I do! I have to yell, because it's the only thing I can do! You know why?!

Carly: 'Cause you're mad?

Jack: No! Because I took -- I took Simon at his word. I actually believed that he would come to Oakdale to help Katie.

Carly: Maybe he just panicked.

Jack: Or maybe -- or maybe I never should have trusted that guy, that two-faced, double-crossing thief.

Carly: Okay, you know what? In fairness, you double-crossed him first.

Jack: Excuse me?

Carly: Well, you did, when you switched the paintings so he would sell the original Campobello and not the forgery.

Jack: Are you seriously gonna defend that guy to me right now?

Carly: I'm not defending him.

Jack: Good.

Carly: I'm just saying in Simon's world, all's fair in love and war.

Jack: Fantastic. I'll remember that when I catch up to him. Ten seconds -- that's all it took for that guy to vanish into thin air.

Carly: Simon is Simon. It's what he does.

Jack: I wish to hell I knew what I was doing.

Carly: You were just trying to help Katie.

Jack: Once again, I failed.

Carly: Oh, Jack, you didn't fail. Maybe this was supposed to happen. Maybe finding Simon for Katie is a mistake.

Jack: No, it's not.

Carly: Jack, she's still in mourning. Maybe finding Simon on her doorstep is a complication she doesn't need right now.

Jack: No. I said I would bring Simon home. That's exactly what I'm gonna do.

Carly: Jack, look out!

[Horn honks]

Carly: Well, is there anything you'd like to say to me?

Jack: Yeah. Get off me. [Groans] Let go of me.

Carly: Jack, would you listen to me?

Jack: No.

Carly: You have to stop this right now.

Jack: This isn't something I can stop. I've got to do this.

Carly: Even if it gets you killed? What if I hadn't been here? What if that car had hit you?

Jack: Oh, please. The car would have swerved or stopped out of the way. I would have been fine, right?

Carly: No. It's not all right. None of this is all right.

Jack: I don't have time to do this with you right now.

Carly: Make time. You may not care if you get run down in the middle of the road, but I care. Your children care.

Jack: The only thing that matters to me right now is finding Simon.

Carly: What is the matter with you?

Jack: I'm losing time! Don't you understand? The farther he gets away, the harder it's gonna be to track him down.

Carly: And you really think you're gonna be able to do that?

Jack: I found him here, didn't I?

Carly: Because he didn't know you were looking for him. Now that he's up to speed, Jack, it's not gonna happen again.

Jack: Look, what were you saying, that I had my chance?

Carly: Yes. And you're not gonna get another.

Jack: And that just does it for you, doesn't it?

Carly: What?

Jack: It still turns you on -- Simon getting the better of me.

Carly: You're out of your mind.

Jack: No. Come on, Carly. We're not together anymore. You can admit it.

Carly: And you can admit this plan of yours is not gonna work. Finding Simon for Katie is not gonna fix her shattered heart.

Jack: I've got to do something.

Carly: Not this. Deep down, you know it. Jack, let it go!

Jack: [Stammers] You'd love that, wouldn't you, if I just let Simon walk?

Carly: This is not about some stupid torch that I'm carrying. I told you, Simon is the worst mistake I ever made.

Jack: Yet you were so insistent on coming with me. Are you sure it wasn't so you could him make a clean getaway?

Carly: Well, you're right, Jack. I've been traipsing around, pretending to care about you, and really, I just want to be certain that Simon doesn't get caught.

Jack: It sure as hell wouldn't be the first time, Sweetheart.

Janet: Please ring. Please, please, please ring. Please --

Teri: Hey!

Janet: Hi.

Teri: Wow. I mean, I've seen a lot of nice kitchens in my life, but this one takes the cake.

Janet: Try pies.

Teri: Plural?

Janet: Oh, yeah. I got apple, pumpkin, and lemon meringue.

Teri: Wow.

Janet: Well, you know, itís Thanksgiving, and everybody's gonna be here, and it's the first -- it's the first one without Brad, so I want everything to be perfect.

Teri: It's going to be.

Janet: You're gonna come, right?

Teri: Am I invited?

Janet: Of course you are. You are my family.

Teri: Do you -- do you smell that?

Janet: Smell what?

Teri: What did you say you had in the oven?

Janet: [Sniffs] Oh, my God! My pies! Oh! Oh, no!

Teri: God. Oh, my God.

Janet: Oh. [Coughing]

Katie: Brad, where are you?

Brad: I'm right here. All you have to do is open your eyes, Katie. Just open them, and you'll see me.

[Baby crying]

Katie: Jacob? Oh, it's okay. It's okay. Mommy's here. Aw! Oh, you miss your daddy, don't you?

Brad: Tell him how much I love him.

Katie: I miss him, too. Oh, he loved you so much. I wish you could see him in your dreams like I can.

Brad: What are you doing?

Katie: Sarah, hi. It's Katie Snyder. I was just wondering, does Dr. Flemming have office hours today?

Brad: Why do you need to see your doctor?

Katie: I was just hoping he could maybe fit me in. He can? Oh, great. Thank you so much. Thank you. Yes! I need as much help as I can get.

Brad: So do I.

Henry: What, are you serious? Ralph Manzo's been sentenced? He's gone to prison? Oh, Margo, that is such great news. Oh, God, thank you. Thank you so much. Yeah, yeah, bye. [Sighs]

Brad: This is important. I just came from seeing Katie. She's not doing well, man.

Henry: What's wrong with her?

Brad: I don't know. I mean, she made an appointment to see her doctor. I mean, but she's -- she's not acting like herself. All she wants to do is sleep. You got -- you got to do something.

Henry: How many times do I have to explain to you what a restraining order means?

Brad: I don't care, Henry. You got to find out why she's seeing her doctor.

Henry: Why can't you do that?

Brad: Because I cannot help her now the way you can! She's not thinking clearly. Something is off, and I am -- man, I am -- I'm terrified that she's gonna end up --

Henry: Brad, what do you think she's gonna do?

Brad: I'm afraid she's gonna try to hurt herself.

Katie: The thing is, I'm just really having trouble sleeping, so I was hoping you could prescribe me something -- you know, some sort of sleeping pill, but that's a little stronger than what I would get over the counter.

Dr. Flemming: I'm not so sure that's a good idea. You're the primary caregiver to a newborn.

Katie: Right. That's why I was just hoping I could get a few hours more sleep. That way I would be more alert, and I'd be a better mother to Jacob than I am now.

Dr. Flemming: If you need to relax, sleeping pills aren't the answer. I may have some reading material that will interest you.

Katie: I don't -- I don't think a pamphlet's gonna cut it, Doc.

Dr. Flemming: Hold on. I'll be right back.

Katie: Oh, come on! The last thing I need is some yoga class. I'm not gonna see your daddy there. He only comes to me in my dreams.

Brad: Katie's doctor just went that way. He should be coming out any minute.

Henry: What, are you a psychic now, too?

Brad: Henry, Henry.

Henry: Bubbles --

Katie: Henry, I can't do this.

Henry: Wait, wait, wait. Please, I haven't forgotten about the restraining order. I just -- I need to talk to you. Can you just give me a minute, please?

Katie: No, I don't have a minute, not for you.

Jack: Another.

Bartender: You might want to go easy on this stuff, pal.

Jack: You might want to go easy on the advice and pour.

Bartender: Sure you don't want me to call a cab?

Jack: I got no place else to be. But thanks.

Carly: This is fun.

Jack: What are you doing here?

Carly: What do you think?

Jack: You shouldn't be here.

Carly: Neither should you.

Bartender: What can I get you?

Jack: Nothing. She's not staying.

Carly: I'm not leaving without you.

Jack: Carly, you've done everything you could do here. It's time for you to go home.

Carly: Why can't you come with me?

Jack: Kids need their mother.

Carly: And they don't need their father? Since when are you dispensable?

Jack: You've been gone a lot more times than I have.

Carly: Yeah. You're right, I have. So then what's a few more hours, huh? What's he drinking?

Bartender: Whiskey.

Carly: Two.

Jack: No. No way. No.

Carly: Don't listen to him. He doesn't speak for me. Thank you.

Jack: No. Carly, you can't do this.

Carly: Why not? You are. What kind of friend would I be if I let you drink alone?

Jack: Put it down!

Carly: Hey!

Jack: I may have hit rock bottom, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna drag you down with me. You want to be my friend? Go back to Oakdale and forget about me.

Carly: I'm sorry. I can't do that. What are we doing here, Jack?

Jack: We're leaving. Come on.

[Janet sighs]

Janet: They're ruined.

Teri: I'm sorry.

Janet: It's not your fault. I got to start over.

Teri: From scratch?

Janet: Well, how else am I supposed to do it?

Teri: Well, hey, listen, since I'm gonna be here for Thanksgiving, why don't you just let me handle all the desserts?

Janet: No.

Teri: I'll bring the Christmas stuff from Metro.

Janet: No, no. I can't let you do it.

Teri: I know that you want to handle the cooking.

Janet: No, they're Jack's favorites! You don't get it! They're his favorites, okay?! I even made the special crust that he liked so much! They're for Jack!

Teri: Jack's coming home?

Janet: Of course he is. It's Thanksgiving. He wouldn't miss a holiday with his kids.

Teri: Did you talk to him? Where is he?

Janet: He's in Pittsburgh.

Teri: What is he doing there?

Janet: I don't know, okay? He wouldn't tell me.

Teri: Okay, Janet --

Janet: No, okay, I get it, all right? I get it. He has some things that he has to work out on his own.

Teri: You're his wife. What things does he have to work out without you?

Janet: This isn't about me. This is about Thanksgiving, and it's about family. And Jack wouldn't miss it. He's gonna be here.

Teri: Okay, okay. Well, then, let me give you a hand.

Janet: No, no, no, no, no. I need to do this by myself, okay?

Teri: Janet --

Janet: No, just let me, Teresa, do this on my own, please.

Teri: Okay.

Dusty: Hi Teri.

Teri: I need to talk to you.

Dusty: I'm on a business call.

Teri: I'm sorry. Hello. Mr. Donovanís gonna have to give you a call back. Yep. Thanks. Here.

Dusty: You think that was cute?

Teri: Listen, normally, I'm not such a pain.

Dusty: Really?

Teri: But my sister is in trouble.

Dusty: What kind of trouble?

Teri: I need you to use your connections to find Jack and bring him home.

Dusty: You're kidding me, right?

Teri: No, no, I'm not. Listen, okay? So, the last time Janet spoke to him, he was in Pittsburgh, so that's a good place to start.

Dusty: Does Janet know you're here?

Teri: Listen, she's just acting like everything's gonna be fine, like Jack's just magically gonna show up for dinner tomorrow night.

Dusty: You don't think he'll show up?

Teri: No, I don't. I think she's gonna be devastated.

Dusty: Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm not gonna interfere with your sister's marriage. Neither should you. Maybe Jack doesn't want to be found.

Teri: So your answer's no?

Dusty: It's for the best.

Teri: For the best? Janet is killing herself over a meal that he's never gonna eat.

Dusty: Well, I'm sorry. You got the wrong guy.

Teri: I don't think that I do.

Katie: Don't touch him. Don't.

Henry: I'm sorry. I -- I didn't mean to upset you.

Brad: Ask her about seeing the doctor.

Henry: How did your appointment go?

Katie: My -- how did you know it was my appointment?

Henry: Um, I -- I saw the doctor, uh, leave, and I know that's not Jacob's pediatrician.

Brad: Ask her if the doctor gave her anything?

Henry: I can't ask that.

Katie: Ask what?

Henry: If, uh -- if the doctor prescribed anything for you.

Katie: That's right. That's none of your business. You can go now, Henry.

Henry: Okay.

Brad: No!

Henry: Look, you know where I am if you need me, okay?

Katie: Wait.

Brad: Say yes, whatever she asks you.

Katie: Remember earlier, when you -- watched Jacob while I took a nap?

Henry: Yeah. Yeah, I remember.

Katie: Could you do that again for me?

Henry: You'd let me do that?

Brad: She thinks she can only see me in her dreams. That's why she's obsessed about sleeping all the time.

Henry: That's not good.

Katie: Okay, if you can't do it, you can't do it.

Brad: Say yes.

Henry: Of course. Of course I can. Yes, I'd like that. I -- I'll watch Jacob, yes.

Katie: Great. I'll meet you at the house.

Henry: Yeah. I'll walk you out.

Katie: No. I got to go to the pharmacy first.

Both: Why?

Katie: Don't worry about it.

Brad: Henry, I am scared.

Henry: So am I.

Katie: He should sleep for a while. And, um, if he wakes up, just -- there's a bottle in the fridge. You're very good with him. I know I said that before.

Henry: Uh, still, it's always nice to hear.

Katie: Okay, I'm gonna go lie down.

Brad: She's doing this because of me.

Henry: She misses you.

Brad: But if she's sleeping all the time, she's gonna miss out on our son's life. I mean, he needs his mother. She's all that he has. I can't let this go on.

[Henry scoffs]

Katie: It's gonna feel so good to get some sleep.

Brad: What are you doing? You can't sleep your life away, not for me. Please, Katie. You don't need to sleep to see me. I am -- I'm right here. I would never leave you. You got to -- you got to believe that.

Katie: Oh, if two do the trick, then three or four will make sleep longer.

Brad: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Listen to me. This is crazy! You can't do this! Please! You can't do this. Don't. Don't. Listen to me. I am telling you to stop it.

Carly: So now what?

Jack: Now it's time for you to go.

Carly: I see. You'd like to be alone.

Jack: You got it.

Carly: That's not gonna ease your pain, Jack.

Jack: Oh, please. Spare me the 12-step blues, all right? I know all the words by heart.

Carly: Your family needs you.

Jack: My family. My family? I've torn my family apart. I'm the last thing they need.

Carly: I don't think Janet would agree with that.

Jack: Oh, this isn't about what Janet would agree with, all right?

Carly: Jack, you've run away from what happened to Brad for long enough.

Jack: No. I'm not running.

Carly: Then prove it to me. Come home.

Jack: What is that gonna change, Carly? Brad will still be dead. Katie will still be alone. Jacob and Liberty will still be fatherless. And Janet --

Carly: Janet still needs you. She still loves you. What happened to Brad was an accident. Everybody knows that. Nobody blames you.

Jack: I blame me.

Carly: I know. Has that helped you? Has that helped anybody? What is it gonna take? How am I gonna get you to see what you're doing to yourself? Jack --

Jack: I don't care about me!

Carly: Well, I do. So if you want a fight to the finish, Jack, you've got one. Let me cut to the chase.

Jack: That's enough! Turn it off!

Carly: Are you sure?

Jack: Damn it, Carly!

Carly: Fine!

Jack: What the hell was that, some kind of commando move they taught you in rehab?

Carly: No, Jack, it was a wake-up call. Whatever it is you're doing here, it's not working.

Jack: I know.

Carly: You do?

Jack: Yes.

Carly: Is there anything else you'd like to say?

[Jack sighs]

Jack: I'm sorry for drinking in front of you. I shouldn't have done that. I shouldn't have done a lot of things.

Carly: You have to stop blaming yourself for things that are out of your control.

Jack: It was my control. The gun was in my hands. It was my finger that pulled the trigger.

Carly: Because you were in the dark, and somebody was shooting at you. What were you supposed to do, let him keep at it, get yourself shot?!

Jack: Maybe.

Carly: No! No maybes about that! You need to snap out of this, Jack! You need to snap out of this now! Your children need you! They're at home waiting for you! If that's not a good enough reason, God help you!

[Object rattling]

Jack: What's that?

Carly: Nothing.

Jack: No. Your compass.

Carly: Our compass.

Jack: Thought you said it was broken.

Carly: I was drunk. I said a lot of things I didn't mean.

Jack: Why do you carry it around with you?

Carly: The truth? When I made the decision to come after you, it was the first thing I grabbed.

Jack: Why? I'm not your true north anymore. I'm not anyone's true north.

Carly: I wanted something to remind you that there's always a way out of the darkness. Sometimes you just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Jack: Well, this isn't gonna help. You're right. It's broken.

Carly: Jack --

Jack: Really. Doesn't work. See?

Carly: Oh.

Jack: And what's even weirder is that it just points south.

Carly: I'm sure it can be fixed.

Jack: I'm not.

[Compass rattles]

Carly: Come on, now. Have a little faith, will you?

Jack: Sorry. Fresh out.

Carly: I know you feel lost right now.

[Jack sighs]

Carly: But you will find your way back.

Jack: Where?

Carly: Home.

Jack: Home. I can't even find Simon Frasier --

Carly: Forget about him, will you? Focus on what's important. Focus on your family and being with them again.

Jack: Sorry. I can't.

Teri: Hey.

Janet: What are you doing? What are you -- what -- what are you guys doing here?

Teri: I asked him to come. I need to talk to you about something.

Janet: Well, I'm kind of busy right now.

Dusty: Why don't you take a break?

Janet: Why should I?

Teri: Because otherwise, you're gonna miss your flight to Pittsburgh. That's where you said Jack was, right?

Janet: Please tell me you didn't call him.

Teri: No, no, no. I just asked Dusty to help me find him.

Janet: Why would you do that? Why would you say yes?

Dusty: She's persistent.

Janet: How do you even know where he is?

Dusty: I have a contact who works security for credit card companies.

Janet: Of course you do.

Dusty: Jack booked a room at the Steeltown Inn.

Teri: And he's still there.

Janet: What, does Dusty have a contact at the front desk, too?

Teri: No. I just called the inn. What are you doing standing there? You have a plane to catch. Go.

Janet: I -- but I don't even know where the Steeltown Inn is!

Teri: Dusty is gonna go with you.

Janet: No, no, no, no, no. I can't ask you to do that. It's Thanksgiving. I don't want to disrupt your plans.

Dusty: I don't have plans. It will give me something to do.

Janet: I don't know what to say.

Teri: You don't have to say anything.

Janet: Thank you.

Teri: Now, you go, and you bring your husband home.

Janet: I'll try. I will. I will. Okay.

Katie: Guess I'm more tired than I thought.

Brad: You didn't drop those pills, Katie. I knocked them out of your hand. You know that. I know you do. Will you stop thinking with your mind, and will you just -- will you feel with your heart?! Will you feel me?! I'm right here, damn it!

Katie: Oh, maybe once I get some sleep --

[Brad sighs]

Brad: You don't need to sleep, all right? You don't need those damn pills. I can't stand to see you like this. Katie? Katie? Damn it. Henry!

Henry: Oh, God. Keep it down. I just got him asleep.

Brad: Katie's sleeping, too. She picked up sleeping pills at the pharmacy.

Henry: Oh, my God. That's why she wanted me to watch the baby.

Brad: I'm scared that she's going to hurt herself or the baby. You've got to do something, because she put you in charge. She's asked you to take care of him. If you're still her friend, you cannot let her down.

Henry: I am still her friend. I'm her best friend. I always will be. But she doesn't confide in me like she used to, and I don't know what I can do to change that, Brad.

Brad: I'm counting on you, Henry. You're the only one that can do this for me.

Henry: What you're asking me to do --

Brad: I'm not asking you. I'm telling you. You've got to get Katie to see that I am still here.

Henry: Yeah. That's -- that's really easy for you to say.

Brad: I'm trying, man. I am trying real hard. But no matter what I do, it does not work. She's too closed off.

Henry: I know, I know. If Katie stays this way, she'll -- she'll never see you. Look, I love Katie, and I would do anything for her and Jacob. I would. But there comes a point where that will only take you so far. And I -- I wish to God I could make her see you. I do. I would do anything I could -- Katie.

Katie: You were talking to Brad just now, weren't you?

Henry: Let me explain, okay?

Katie: Just tell me, is he here still.

Brad: I'm here.

Henry: He is.

Katie: Where?

Henry: He's right behind you.

Brad: Katie -- she can't see me, and she doesn't really believe that I'm here.

Henry: Just keep talking. Will you just keep talking? Don't stop talking.

Katie: I love you.

Brad: Oh, baby.

Katie: I miss you so much.

Brad: Oh, baby, baby -- I love you. Don't cry. Don't cry. I miss you so much. I love you so much more than you possibly can know.

Carly: There's a convenience store across the street. I got you a sandwich, some coffee.

Jack: I'm not hungry.

Carly: Jack, you should eat something before we head home.

Jack: I didn't say I was going back. I don't know where home is anymore.

Carly: Yes, you do. What does your heart tell you?

[Jack sighs]

Jack: I don't know how to do this.

Carly: Do what?

Jack: Fix the mess I made.

Carly: Well -- lucky for you, I have a lot of experience in that field. I know what it's like to mess up, to feel unsure of yourself.

Jack: I look in the mirror, and I don't recognize the face staring back at me.

Carly: I understand. I felt that way for months. I think in your case it's because you're used to being the hero.

Jack: No. I'm not a hero. Not anymore. I'm not a cop. I'm not a brother. I'm not even much of a husband.

Carly: Okay. Then who are you?

[Jack sighs]

Jack: Oh, my God. I've ruined so many lives that if I live to be 100, I won't be able to make up for it. What do I do?

Carly: You face the situation head-on, and you fight like hell to get your life back.

Jack: Some life, huh?

Carly: You don't do what I did. Don't hide behind a bottle. You don't push the people who love you away. Jack -- you don't have to go through this alone.

Dusty: Here it is. You okay?

Janet: I -- hate to admit this, but I'm almost afraid to face my husband.

Dusty: Well, don't be. You came all this way. He needs you.

Janet: How do you know?

Dusty: He needs to know you're still on his side.

Janet: But I am. I always am.

Dusty: All right. Just tell him.

Janet: It's open.

Katie: Is Brad still here?

Henry: Yeah.

Katie: Why can't I see you?

Brad: Just try real hard, for us.

Katie: I just want to touch your hand or your face or something. I just want to know that this is real, that you're real.

Brad: I am. I am. I want -- I want to touch you, too. I just want to touch you one last time. I've been trying so hard -- real hard -- to reach you. You have no idea.

Katie: Oh, I'm so tired.

Brad: Katie --

Katie: No, no, no, no. No, I don't want to sleep now. I don't want to go to sleep.

Brad: Henry --

Henry: Katie, focus on me. Look at me, Katie. Focus on me. Katie?

Katie: If I sleep right now, I will see him in my dreams, but I want to see him here. I want it --

Henry: Katie?

Brad: Grab her, grab her.

Henry: I got her, I got her, I got her.

[Henry sighs]

Dusty: What is it? He's not in there?

Janet: No, no. He's -- he's there.

Dusty: So what's wrong?

Janet: He's not alone.

Dusty: Who's with him?

Janet: Carly. Carly's with him.

Dusty: Are you gonna go in and let him know you're here?

Janet: No, no.

Dusty: Why? Why not?

Jan: It's funny, because a part of me expected them to be together.

Dusty: Why?

Janet: She's who he always turns to when he's down. And I think he always will. And now I want to go home.

Dusty: Are you sure?

Janet: Yeah, yeah. Because it's almost Thanksgiving, and I want to be with my daughter, and I want to be with my sister.

Dusty: What about your husband?

Janet: What about him?

Dusty: You're just gonna walk away from him, let go of your marriage?

Janet: I don't think I have a marriage to hold on to anymore.

Carly: I'm thinking we stop for breakfast on the way. Any luck with that?

Jack: No. I can't get it to work. Add it to the list of things I've destroyed. Sorry.

Carly: Stop apologizing. And you didn't destroy anything.

Jack: I know how much this compass meant to you, Carly.

Carly: And to you, once upon a time.

Jack: Once.

Carly: I'll let you in on something.

Jack: What?

Carly: You mean more.

Jack: [Chuckles] Right.

Carly: I think this compass has been through a lot worse than a little cold shower.

Jack: I don't know. Maybe it's been broken one too many times.

Carly: Hmm. Somehow, it's always managed to point the way. Something tells me it will again.

Teri: You're back!

Janet: Hi.

Dusty: Yeah.

Teri: Oh, when I didn't hear from you last night, I wasn't sure if you would be back for Thanksgiving.

Dusty: Our flight got delayed, so we rented a car.

Teri: Oh, man. You must have been up all night. Hey, where's Jack? Did he stop off to see the kids?

Janet: No.

Teri: What happened?

Dusty: I'll let your sister fill you in. Go easy on her, all right?

Teri: I will, I will. Hey, wait. It's Thanksgiving. There's tons of food. Are you sure you don't want to stay? There's no fennel, I promise.

Dusty: Thanks. I'll pass.

Teri: Okay. You're sure?

Dusty: Yeah, yeah. Family gatherings aren't really my thing.

Teri: All right. Well, hey, happy Thanksgiving.

Dusty: You too.

Henry: Ooh, ooh, ooh! Look who's awake. Hey, baby. Don't worry. It's just your Uncle Henry. I know, I know. I'm not as pretty as your mother first thing in the morning, but she's still sleeping. And no worries. She is fine. I've been checking on her. And your daddy's been in there all night. Yes. You're excited. You know why? You know what today is? It's Thanksgiving. Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble. It's your first Thanksgiving, isn't it? You're probably wondering what you have to be thankful for. That makes two of us. Well, we've got each other. You've got your mom. You've got your dad, sort of. That's more than most people, I suppose. [Sighs] Who would have thought we'd be the lucky ones, huh, kid? [Laughs]

Brad: You are so beautiful. I used to wake up in the middle of the night, I remember, and just watch you sleep. And sometimes you would wake up, just open your eyes, and you'd -- you'd catch me. Then we would make love. [Sighs] Call me crazy, lady, but -- I am so thankful that I'm still here with you and Jacob. I'm so thankful that I can -- I can see you. I don't know how long this whole ghost thing is gonna last, but it means the world to me. You mean the world to me. Happy Thanksgiving, baby. I love you.

Teri: Hey, do you want to talk about it?

Janet: What would be the point?

Teri: 'Cause you're my sister, and you knew how hard it was for me to testify against Uncle Ralph, but you sat in that courtroom, and you held my hand the entire time.

Janet: Well, this isn't exactly the same thing.

Teri: They sentenced him yesterday.

Janet: They did?

Teri: They gave him the maximum.

Janet: Good.

Teri: Yeah.

Janet: Good.

Teri: I just -- I'm sorry. I just thought that you guys would want to sit next to each other.

Janet: Well, the joke's on us, isn't it? Jack's not coming home.

Carly: You ready?

Jack: Still not sure this is a good idea.

Carly: Oh, come on, Jack. I want to be home for thanksgiving with my family. Don't you?

Jack: Then maybe you should go.

Carly: You really want to miss Emma's stuffing, the Hubbard squash, endless hours of football with Parker?

Jack: Boy, you just don't give up, do you?

Carly: No. And I drive really fast.

Jack: Come on. I would have dusted you on the racetrack in South Carolina.

Carly: [Chuckles] Jack, it's time to come home.

Jack: What if it's too soon?

Carly: Too soon is better than too late. Your whole life, you've taken care of me and everybody else you love. Let us take care of you now. Come on. I promise I'll have you home in time for kickoff.

On the next "As the World Turns" --

Luke: I'm gonna take care of you, and if you want to hate me for it, that's fine. But I'm still gonna help you, 'cause that's what people who love each other do.

Emma: Happy, happy, happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
