Katie: Brad, what are you doing here? Why are you here? Can you hear me?! Can you hear me?!

Bob: Katie, what are you doing here? You're not supposed to be out of bed.

Katie: What happened to him? What happened to him?

Bob: I'm taking you back to your room.

Katie: No. Nobody told me anything. Nobody's told me anything. Why is he here?

Bob: He was shot.

Katie: Shot?

Bob: He was brought from that warehouse with you and your baby.

Katie: Brad was at the warehouse? How is he?

Bob: The next few hours are critical.

Katie: No. You're not answering my question, Bob. Tell me the truth.

Bob: It's very serious, Katie. He was shot in the chest. He lost a lot of blood. There was significant trauma and internal bleeding. He was in surgery for hours.

Katie: Hours?

Bob: He got through that.

Katie: So he'll be okay, then. I mean, the worst is over. He's gonna be better now. I mean, not right now, but eventually.

Bob: Well, that's up to him.

Katie: What does that mean?

Bob: We've repaired all the damage that we can, and it's up to his body to do the rest.

Katie: I don't think I like the sound of that.

Bob: You asked for the truth.

Katie: Yeah, but when a doctor says that "We've done all we can," that's not a good sign.

Bob: We are hoping for the best.

[Katie sobs]

Katie: You're telling me he could die, aren't you?

Bob: He's young. He's strong. He's come this far. That's all very important.

[Voice breaking]

Katie: Does he know he has a son? Did he know before this?

Bob: I don't know.

Katie: Henry was there, and Jack was there. Did they tell him?

Bob: You'll have to ask them.

Katie: Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Bob: I want to take you back to your room.

Katie: No, no, no. I'm not gonna leave.

Bob: Look, Kate, you've got to take care of yourself.

Katie: I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine.

Bob: You just gave birth in a less than perfect environment. You lost a lot of blood. You need your rest and to get your strength back so you can take care of your baby.

Katie: I'm not leaving him alone!

Bob: He's not alone. We're gonna be watching him around the clock. I've got my best people on this case.

Katie: Will you stay with him?

Bob: Of course I will.

Katie: You promise?

Bob: I'm not going anywhere.

Katie: Don't let him die, Bob, please. Please, you can't let him die.

Janet: When are we gonna talk?

Jack: About what?

Janet: What you left out when you told Margo what happened at the warehouse.

Jack: I didn't leave anything out.

Janet: Oh, come on.

Jack: Nothing that matters. Okay, I -- I just don't want to do this right now, okay?

Janet: Honey, the longer you leave it out there, the worse it's gonna get.

Jack: I just want to get back to my brother.

Janet: You know what? All you can do is call Margo, right? And you can tell her you've been thinking about --

Jack: I told her everything she needs to know.

Janet: Jack, no, you didn't.

Jack: Are -- are you saying that I'm lying?

Janet: No, no. O -- of course not.

Jack: It sure sounds like it.

Janet: That's not what I meant at all.

Jack: Good. Then please don't tell me how to do my job.

Janet: This isn't about your job. It's about who you are.

Jack: I know who I am.

Janet: Well, then, maybe I don't, because you are the most stand-up, honest guy I know. And I thought that meant something to you.

Jack: It does.

Janet: Okay. Then why are you willing to throw that away?

Jack: I'm not doing this right now.

Janet: Wait, wait, wait. I'm not going anywhere until you give me an answer.

Jack: Well, I'm not sure what you're asking me!

Janet: I want to know why you didn't tell Margo you were drinking before you went to the warehouse.

Margo: What is she doing? She's supposed to be leading us to Manzo. No, no, no, no. Stay with her. Don't let her out of your sight.

Barbara: You let Audrey go?

Margo: I can't discuss this, Barbara.

Barbara: She tried to kill me.

Margo: It's part of an ongoing investigation.

Barbara: Into what?

Margo: I can't discuss this, Barbara.

Barbara: She tried to poison me. And from what her son has told me, she was also involved in your sister's kidnapping.

Margo: I know.

Barbara: I'm sure you do. How is Katie?

Margo: She's gonna be okay.

Barbara: And the baby?

Margo: He's -- he's gonna be fine, too. But, uh -- but Brad --

Barbara: What happened to Brad?

Margo: He was shot trying to find her.

Barbara: Oh, my God. Is he gonna be all right?

Margo: No, no. We don't know.

Barbara: And Audrey was involved in all of this?

Margo: I am not gonna talk to you about --

Barbara: And you let her go? Tell me why.

Margo: Because I need her, because she will lead me to the man who's responsible for all of this.

Barbara: You really think she's going to help you, Margo?

Margo: Not willingly.

Barbara: Then what is she doing out there?

Margo: She's bait.

Henry: Leave me alone.

Audrey: Henry, wait. We don't have a lot of time.

Henry: Please, don't include me in whatever it is you're doing.

Audrey: Well, it's too late for that.

Henry: I am done with you.

Audrey: Listen to me. I have got to lead that detective to Ralph.

Henry: Then why are you still standing here, Mother?

Audrey: Because you know he is the loosest cannon of all loose cannons. He really will kill both of us.

Henry: I -- I'm not afraid of him anymore. I'm not.

Audrey: You should be.

Henry: And you know what? I really don't care what happens to you, either.

Audrey: Oh, wait a minute. Do you really want to see me, your mommy, spending her golden years in prison?

Henry: I don't give a damn where you end up, okay?! Katie and the baby almost died, Brad is holding on by a thread, and it's all because of me, and it's because of you.

Audrey: Okay. I am sorry. But how will that help them by us suffering?

Henry: Uh, it will add some justice to the world. I don't know.

Audrey: Oh, stop. Just stop being so self-centered, would you, just for one minute and think about me?

Henry: What, are you kidding?! God!

Audrey: Listen to me, Henry. That inheritance, Jimmy's inheritance, will give me a chance to start a whole new life. Then you won't have to worry about me.

Henry: Uh, Honey, I don't worry about you anyway. I don't.

Audrey: Okay. Then you listen to this. I worked very, very hard for that money. You didn't work as hard as I did. And I'm not about to walk away from it right now.

Henry: Okay. Do you want to see what your hard work got you? Come here. Let me show you. Let me show you what your hard work -- oh, my God. Where's Katie?

Katie: Can I stay with him for a minute?

Bob: I don't think that's wise.

Katie: Bob, please, just one minute.

Bob: Okay. I'll be right outside.

Katie: Okay. Bob -- if I talk to him, do you think he can hear me?

Bob: I'm sure he can.

Katie: [Sighs] Hi. Bob says you can hear me, and I know you can. I know you are fighting so hard to come back to us. We have a son, baby -- a beautiful baby boy. He looks just like you, and he's waiting to meet his daddy, okay? So -- you have so many things you have to teach him -- how to treat other people, what's right and wrong, how to be a decent, honest, beautiful man like his father. He needs you. I need you. I need you so much. [Sobs] Brad --

Katie: You're alive.

Brad: I guess so.

Katie: Can I kiss you? Would it hurt too much?

Brad: I doubt it will hurt any worse.

Katie: Oh, I'm so glad you're awake. How do you feel?

Brad: Like I got -- hit by a truck.

Katie: You were shot in the warehouse. Do you remember?

Brad: I remember -- I remember Manzo grabbing me.

Katie: What were you thinking, going in there all by yourself?

Brad: I guess I just wasn't thinking. I was just so -- I was just so scared of something happening to you and the baby. Are you okay?

Katie: Yeah. I'm fine.

Brad: Is the baby all right?

Katie: He's in the nursery. He's doing great.

Brad: I want to see him.

Katie: I know. I know. He's tiny, but he's so strong, just like his daddy. And don't worry. They're gonna bring him in here soon, okay?

Brad: We have a little boy.

Katie: Yeah. And he is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen in your life.

Brad: I love you so much.

Katie: I love you, too.

Brad: I love you. I love you.

Kim: Oh! He's awake.

Bob: Just now.

Kim: Oh, thank God. I was so worried.

Bob: I want to examine him, but I thought I'd give him a couple of minutes.

Kim: Now, listen, what about you? Aren't you supposed to be recuperating yourself?

Bob: Well, I just wanted to make sure that, uh, we didn't miss anything.

Kim: Right. Because, of course, no one else in the hospital would have any idea what to do.

Bob: Got to do a better job recruiting.

Kim: Mm-hmm. Sweetheart, please, don't overdo it. I don't want to find you on a bed next to Brad.

Bob: I'll be careful.

Kim: Honey, do you think -- is he gonna make it?

Bob: It's too early to tell.

Janet: I am not accusing you of anything.

Jack: Besides lying.

Janet: I never said you lied.

Jack: You -- you said I didn't tell Margo the truth.

Janet: The whole truth.

Jack: Oh, like there's a difference.

Janet: You still haven't answered me.

Jack: I just want to get back to the hospital, okay?

Janet: We will. We will.

Jack: I had a couple of beers, all right? That's it.

Janet: More than a couple.

Jack: I could have been drunk out of my mind, it wouldn't have mattered! He fired at me, I fired back. It was instinct and training. I was not impaired.

Janet: I never said you were.

Jack: You want proof, Janet? You want proof? I didn't miss, did I? I saw the flash from the gun. I fired. I hit him right in the chest, exactly where I'm supposed to. It was a perfect shot in the dark under fire, center of chest! Only it was the wrong guy. It was Brad.

Janet: Jack --

Jack: No. I wish I was impaired. Maybe I would have missed then.

Janet: No, because then you would have gotten shot.

Jack: Yeah, I'm supposed to, not Brad.

Janet: Honey, this was not your fault, okay? You had no idea. You couldn't know.

[Cell phone rings]

Jack: It's Bob. Bob.

Bob: Jack, good news. Brad's awake.

Jack: He is?

Janet: What?

Jack: He's awake.

Janet: Oh, thank God.

Jack: How is he?

Bob: Well, he seems to be alert. He's talking to Katie.

Jack: Oh, that's great. Thanks, Bob. Thank you. T -- tell him we'll be right there, okay? Come on. We got to go. He's awake. We got to get over to the hospital.

Janet: All right.

Jack: Let's go. Come here, come here, come here.

Janet: Ah!

Jack: He's awake. All right, come on. Let's go.

Margo: All right, stick with her.

Barbara: I can't believe you let her go.

Margo: I need her. She's my best shot at nailing Manzo.

Barbara: Okay, fine. Nail away. But you know what? She came up with poisoning me all on her own.

Margo: After she leads me to Manzo, she'll be back in her cell where she belongs.

Barbara: Mm-hmm. If she gets away?

Margo: She won't.

Barbara: You have no idea how devious this woman is.

Margo: And she has no idea how I will haunt her if she doesn't deliver Manzo.

Barbara: Oh, I'm sure that you will, but he will haunt her, as well, if she betrays him.

Margo: She will pay for the crimes that she committed against you, Barbara.

Barbara: She better.

Margo: Barbara -- don't get in my way.

Barbara: Of course not.

Margo: Barbara, I will come after you. Don't push me.

Henry: Where's the nurse? Katie isn't supposed to be gone. I got to find out what they did with her.

Audrey: Okay, m -- maybe she just went to the nursery.

Henry: Yeah, she's not supposed to be out of bed.

Audrey: Well, wait. M -- maybe she's having tests.

Henry: What kind of tests?

Audrey: I don't know. I'm not her doctor.

Henry: I got to find her.

Audrey: Wait, wait. Did you cash that check?

Henry: Oh, my God. Even with people's lives on the line, all you can think about is a big payoff.

Audrey: Just -- just tell me. Did you put the money in your account or not?

Henry: I don't have time for this. You know what? You know what? Here. Take it. It's yours.

Audrey: No, no, I -- I just want my share. That's all.

Henry: Take the whole thing if that's all you care about, all right? Just take it and get the hell out of my life.

Audrey: Fine, if that's what you want.

Henry: What I want is for you to never hurt the people that I love ever again. Do you understand?

Audrey: Okay, I won't. I won't.

Henry: Good. Take that and don't come back.

Audrey: Look at all those zeroes. Come to mama. Mwah! Oh, good Lord. Now I just got to figure out a way to get out of here.

[Monitor beeping]

Brad: Manzo saw you just had a baby, and he wouldn't just let you go.

Katie: I think that's why he didn't kill me. If it was just me, even pregnant, it wouldn't have bothered him. Guess he just couldn't bring himself to shoot a newborn child.

Brad: Yeah, he's a real prince.

Katie: Our baby saved my life, and then you did.

Brad: In my usual, klutzy way.

Katie: No, no. You were incredibly brave.

Brad: No, Honey, you're the brave one. You had a baby all by yourself in a stinking warehouse. Do you know how amazing that is, like so alone?

Katie: I wasn't alone.

Brad: Who else was with you?

Katie: You were. You were there with me. I could see you and hear you. You were encouraging me and reassuring me. You even reminded me to breathe the way they taught us in birthing class.

Brad: I actually don't remember how they taught us to breathe in birthing class.

Katie: Well, you did. You remembered. You were great. You knew just what to do and just what to say.

Brad: It sounds like I was better actually not being there.

Katie: No. You held me together, Brad -- you and our baby.

Brad: You bet. Once that baby was in your arms, you weren't gonna let anything happen to him.

Katie: No. But I couldn't have done it without him. He talked to me, too. He encouraged me to try to escape out of this window, but I couldn't get up there. You know, I just couldn't fit. And I think that's when I lost the necklace you gave me.

Brad: Oh, no. No, you didn't lose it.

Katie: Yeah, I did. I woke up here, and it was gone.

Brad: No, no. It's not gone. The drawer they put your stuff in.

Katie: Yeah?

Brad: Look in it.

Katie: Oh, my God. How did this get here?

Brad: Some kid had it. You know, I was at the police station. He had it, and I made him tell me where he -- where he got it. That's how I found you.

Katie: [Gasps] Oh, it meant so much when you gave it to me, but it means so much more now.

Brad: Give it to me. Turn around. There you go.

Katie: He saved my life. If he hadn't told me to go to that window -- our son saved my life.

Henry: Hello! Is there a nurse here?! Is there a doctor -- Dr. Bob, thank God.

Bob: What's wrong?

Henry: It's Katie. Uh, she's not in her room. She's not in the nursery. I've looked everywhere. I can't find her.

Bob: It's okay.

Henry: No, no, no, no. It's not okay. There's this Ralph Manzo guy. He's an animal, and he's still out there, and he's probably grabbed her again.

Bob: Nobody's grabbing her. I know where she is.

Henry: You do?

Bob: Yeah. She's with Brad.

Henry: She's with Brad? Oh, Dr. Bob, no, no, no, no, no. I purposely did not tell her that Brad had been shot. She's gonna die of the shock!

Bob: No, she won't. She's fine. She knows, and Brad's awake.

Henry: Brad's awake?

Bob: Yeah. He came around a few minutes ago.

Henry: I don't understand. I saw him on the stretcher. He looked -- I didn't there he was gonna make it.

Bob: Well, he's critical, but he's alive. And with any luck, he'll stay that way.

Henry: Oh, my God, Dr. Bob, thank you. Thank you so much.

Bob: Thank you for the hug.

Henry: Sorry. It's just, uh, you are -- you're a miracle worker. I'm just thrilled. I'm just -- oh, my God, Brad's alive. Brad's alive. I can't believe it.

[Henry laughs]

Bob: Thanks again.

Henry: Yeah, yeah.

Audrey: Uh, do you mind?

Cop: Lieutenant Hughes wants me to keep an eye on you until you produce Manzo.

Audrey: So you actually think that a Ralph Manzo would be in the ladies' room?!

Cop: Sorry. Those are my orders.

Audrey: Look, that -- that animal tried to kill two friends of mine very close to me, and -- and I would hate for him to be able to avoid justice like that. So -- also, I just want to freshen up a bit. I -- I don't want Ralph Manzo to see that I've been crying because of all this. Please? Do you mind? Please? Oh, my goodness. Thank you so much. I'll just be a minute.

Cop: I'm timing you.

[Audrey sobbing]

Janet: The elevator was coming.

Jack: It took too long.

Janet: It would have been here by now.

Jack: It's just a couple more flights.

Janet: Did Bob tell you any more about Brad's condition?

Jack: No, just that he was awake.

Janet: Okay. Wait, wait. I want to apologize about what I said earlier about the beer thing.

Jack: Forget it.

Janet: No, no, no, no. It's just that you're a "Whole truth and nothing but the truth" kind of guy, and I was just surprised that you didn't tell Margo that.

Jack: Janet --

Janet: No. You were right. If you had been affected, you would have missed.

Jack: It doesn't matter. The only thing that matters right now is that Brad's gonna be okay.

Janet: One other thing you need to prepare yourself for.

Jack: What's that?

Janet: When Brad finds out you shot him, he's never gonna let you forget it!

Jack: [Laughs] You know what? He can make my life miserable about it for the next 50 years.

Katie: Finally feels like things are going back to the way they should be.

Brad: Except one thing is different.

Katie: Our baby boy.

Brad: I want to see him.

Katie: I know. Me too. They said they'd bring him in as soon as you're strong enough.

Brad: Oh, well, why can't they bring him in now, just for a few minutes?

Katie: They're barely even letting me see him. I think they have to be pretty careful with him right now.

Brad: He's my son.

Katie: I know. I'll go talk to them. But he's been through a lot.

Brad: Well, you're gonna have one hell of a story to tell him when he gets older, how he saved his mom's life just by being born.

Katie: He had help from his daddy.

Brad: Now, I just -- I just thought of like the perfect name for him.

Katie: Brad?

[Monitor beeping]

Brad: Yeah?

Katie: You okay?

Brad: Yeah. Don't worry. I'm not checking out until the Cubs win the series.

[Beeping intensifies]

Katie: Brad?

[Monitor flat lines]

Katie: Brad? Brad?! Help! Help! Somebody please help us!

[Flat lined monitor]

Katie: We were just talking, and then all of the sudden, he got tired, and he -- he just stopped. He just stopped --

Bob: Call a code blue.

Katie: I don't know what's happening.

Bob: Katie, wait outside.

Katie: No, no. I'm not going anywhere.

Bob: He's asystole.

Katie: Wait, he's not breathing? We were just talking.

Bob: Katie, go outside.

Katie: He was fine. How did this happen so fast?! He's not breathing!

Bob: Henry, get her out of here.

Henry: Come on. Let's go --

Katie: No, I'm not going anywhere!

Henry: No, we're just getting in the way. They need to do their jobs. Come on, Katie.

Katie: Bob, save him!

Henry: He will. He will save him.

Katie: I should be in there with him.

Henry: No, you shouldn't. No, you shouldn't. Uh, Bob and his people need room to work, okay?

Katie: But he's in trouble.

Henry: And -- and there's nothing you can do. Let's just -- let's go back to your room.

Katie: No, no! I'm not going anywhere!

Henry: You're not gonna do any good here, and you're not gonna do Brad any good by getting yourself all upset.

Katie: I don't care.

Henry: Well, your baby cares, and he needs you.

Katie: No! I'm not leaving until I know Brad's okay!

Jack: What's going on?

Katie: He stopped breathing!

Jack: When?

Katie: Just now!

Henry: Bob's in there with him.

Jack: What happened? [Voice breaking]

Katie: I don't know. We were talking, and I told him that he had a son, and he was so happy, Jack. He was so happy.

Jack: Okay. It's okay.

Katie: I promised him that the nurse would bring the baby in, and then he -- he said that he had a name for the baby. And -- and then he --

Jack: What happened?

Katie: He just -- I don't know. It was just like he was just gone. He -- he just stopped. It was like he wasn't there.

Janet: He's strong. Katie, he'll pull through.

Henry: Look, Bob is a great doctor, okay?

Katie: What if he doesn't?

Henry: No, no. Don't even think that, all right? He's gonna be fine.

Katie: Jack --

Jack: Henry's right, Honey. Henry's right. There's no way he's gonna leave you and your baby, okay?

Katie: Okay. Okay.

Cop: How long does it take to wash your face?!

[Knock on door]

[Water running]

Cop: Hey. Hey. Oh, brother.

Audrey: Ow, ow, ow, ow. [Laughs] Oh, but you are so worth it? Mwah! Hey!

Barbara: You're gonna have to be a lot quicker than that, Honey.

Janet: Okay, so Bradley has the ball, and this linebacker comes up and just crushes him. And, I mean, this guy must have weighed at least 300 pounds. They called him elevator O'Hara, because that's what it felt like when he came down on you. We were all so worried. Brad made this sound, this horrible sound when he hit the ground. We didn't know what was gonna happen. We thought he was out of it, right? Well, two seconds later, Bradley gets up with his helmet in his hand and a big grin on his face. He looks at the elevator, and he says, "Is that all you got?" Everybody went nuts. The whole crowd started cheering. Even the people on the other side, the fans on the other side of the stands were cheering for him.

Henry: That sounds like Brad.

Jack: He's as tough as they come.

Janet: But wait, wait. I'm not done. Okay, so Bradley sits out one play, and he goes back in. He gets the ball. He starts running out towards the field, and you know he's looking for the elevator, right? He finds him. He runs into him, crushes him down, jumps right over him into the end zone for a touchdown. Boom! And that's just football. This is about his son.

Katie: That's exactly what he needs.

Janet: What?

Katie: Our son saved my life. He can save Brad's, too. We have to go get him.

Henry: Katie --

Katie: No, Henry, he needs him! We're gonna go get the baby and bring him to Brad, and I am not taking "No" for an answer!

Jack: Go. I don't want her spending the rest of her life wondering if there was something she didn't do.

Audrey: Give me my check!

Barbara: Your check?

Audrey: Yeah, my check. My son gave me that check.

Barbara: The check I gave to Henry for Katie.

Audrey: Oh, big deal. Either way, doesn't concern you now, does it?

Barbara: Unless you stole it from him.

Audrey: I didn't. He gave it to me. Just ask.

Barbara: I plan to.

Audrey: Hey! Just give it to me!

Barbara: No, not until I talk to Henry!

Audrey: He gave that to me! Give it --

Barbara: I want to hear it from him!

Audrey: No! It's -- it's mine! Oh!

Barbara: No, no! You're not -- you're not getting this check!

Audrey: No, no, no! [Breaths heavily then laughs] You know something? I deserve this money more than you do, because I made Jimmy Stenbeck happier than you ever could. You know what? I hate good-byes. Don't you. Mwah! Ha!

Barbara: Too bad for you there won't be one.

Jack: It was so dark. Janet, I couldn't see anything. It was pitch black. I didn't -- I didn't know he was in there. I keep asking myself if I could have done something differently.

Janet: There wasn't.

Jack: [Sighs] It's what every cop dreads when he goes through a door. You never know what's in there. You just hope you can process it in time to make a good decision. But you go through, and -- it happened so fast. There's chaos and confusion and guys you're going after and innocent people you're trying to protect, gunshots, things that sound like gunshots. I don't know. Maybe -- maybe I should have -- I don't know. Manzo had Brad in front of him. I didn't know that. I had Henry. I had to protect Henry. I didn't want him getting caught in the cross fire. And then there was -- Katie was in there somewhere. I couldn't let bullets fly all over the place. I reacted. My own brother -- it was my brother.

Janet: This wasn't your fault, Jack. It was Ralphie's fault.

Jack: Mm-hmm. [Sobs] No.

Janet: Oh, God.

Nurse: Doctor, do you want to call it? Doctor?

Bob: Sorry. Time of death, 6:30. I'm sorry. There was just too much damage.

Jackie: You can't take that baby out of here!

Katie: It's my baby. I'm taking him to see his father. It's a matter of life and death.

Jackie: Sorry, you can't take him without the doctor's okay.

Katie: Are you kidding me?

Jackie: He can't leave the NICU without approval.

Katie: You are gonna be really sorry if you don't let me take him.

Henry: You should really do what she says, okay?

Kim: Wait a minute. What's going on?

[Voice breaking]

Katie: I need my son. Brad's in trouble, and the only way it's gonna save his life is if the baby's there.

Jackie: I'm not supposed to let him go with anyone.

Kim: All right, all right. Jackie, you're doing absolutely the right thing to be so careful, but in this instance, I think my husband would make an exception. Now, you know me. I will take full responsibility.

Henry: Thank you, thank you.

Katie: Thank you, thank you. [Voice breaking]

Janet: Bradley's always been so full of life ever since I've known him. And now he -- he looks -- oh, God. I have to tell Liberty. Oh. She always dreamed of having a father. And when she told me she wanted to come here and find you, I told her she couldn't go. She wouldn't listen to me. 'Cause I thought you'd be the same old jerk you were in high school. [Sobs] And look what a good father you turned out to be. You were everything -- everything she could have asked for and more. He's gone. He's gone. [Sobs] How can he be gone?

Jack: Okay. All right, listen. You got to go talk to Liberty, okay, before she hears it from someone else. All right?

Janet: No. I don't want to leave you here alone.

Jack: It's okay. I'm fine. I'm good.

Janet: [Sobs] Are you sure?

Jack: Yeah. Of course I'm sure.

Janet: I'm gonna be back, okay? As soon as I can, I will come back.

Jack: Yeah. I'll be here.

Janet: Oh, Jack, I'm so sorry.

Jack: I know.

Janet: I'm so sorry.

Jack: I know. Go. [Voice breaking] I did this. I did this. I killed my own brother. God help me. God help me.

Audrey: [Laughs] Yes! Oh, it is so amazing what a little piece of paper will do. Give you so many green things. Oh, come on. Let's hit it, my lovelies. Oh, no. Shoot! Okay, my lovelies, one little stop, and then we'll say good-bye to Oakdale forever.

[Engine turns over]

Janet: I can't. Oh, I have to.

 [Knock on door]

Kim: Hi. Sorry. I -- I saw you leave the hospital, and I just wanted to make sure that you're gonna be all right.

Janet: You know?

Kim: Oh, Honey. I'm so sorry.

Janet: I have to tell Liberty.

Kim: I know. I -- I assumed that was where you were going.

Janet: I don't -- I don't know how I'm gonna do it. You know, she just -- she just found her father, and now to lose him again --

Kim: Well, I -- sometimes, our children -- you know, in the worst of times, we find out they're so much more resilient than we ever thought.

Janet: Well, I sure hope she's more resilient than her mother. Because I can't do this. It's too much for me.

Kim: I understand. I understand.

Janet: Kim, I know how close you two were.

Kim: Oh, we definitely were. He -- he was really an original, wasn't he?

Janet: How am I gonna do it? How am I gonna go up there and tell my daughter that her father's dead? [Sobs]

Audrey: There we go. And -- voila. Oh, would you look at that? If I pay cash, I get each gallon five cents cheaper. I think I have enough cash. I wonder if I do. Himm. Let's just see. [Laughs] Come to me, my lovelies. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. Okay.

Barbara: That's the car.

Margo: Well, it's a good thing you threw your cell phone in there. We wouldn't have been able to track her without that.

Barbara: That's what I was hoping.

Margo: Okay. Now where the hell is she?

Audrey: [Gasps] Oh! Oh, no! My money!

Margo: You stay here. You come with me.

Audrey: Oh, no. I can't go to prison, even for that much money.

Margo: Sir, have you seen a middle-aged, overdressed woman, possibly putting gas in that car?

Audrey: Oh. Farewell, my lovelies.

Katie: Jack -- Jack, I have the baby. As soon as Brad hears him cry, he'll come around. He's been wanting to see him so bad. What are you doing? I got to get in there. Where's Bob? Why is Brad alone?

Jack: Katie, I'm sorry.

Katie: What?

Henry: Oh, no. No, god, no, Jack.

Katie: What? No, I have to get in there. Brad needs to see his son.

Jack: He can't anymore.

Katie: No!

Henry: Let's -- let's take the baby back to the nurse.

Katie: No, no, no, no, no!

Jack: I'll take it back. I'll take the baby.

Katie: No, no, not until Brad sees him!

Jack: Katie --

Katie: No! I'm going in there, and no one is gonna stop me -- no one.

Jack: Okay. All right. I'll go with you.

Katie: No, no, no. I have to do this alone. Oh, my gosh. He looks like himself, like he's sleeping, not like -- [Sobs] Here he is, Sweetheart. Here's our son. Our son. Our beautiful, beautiful baby boy. [Sobbing]

On the next "As the World Turns" --

Barbara: There's been a development.

Liberty: Jack shot his own brother. Jack killed my dad.

Jack: I'm gonna go find your uncle.

Janet: Oh, no. You are in no shape to go look for anyone.

Jack: Ralph has to pay for what he's done! My brother's dead because of him.

Dusty: You want out or not.

Ralph: Excuse me?

Dusty: I'm here to help you escape.
