Brad: Oh, no, no, no, no. No. My son's alive. I just heard him crying, okay? I need -- I have to see him, damn it! All right? I have to see if he's okay!
Henry: Oh, my God. The baby.
Jack: Over there.
Katie: Brad. He was here. I heard him.
Henry: Yeah. We're gonna call him as soon as you're okay. You did good, Bubbles. You did real good. Jack, what's going on?
Jack: Oh, no. No!
Dusty: What are you doing alone on a beautiful day like this?
Alison: Having a late lunch.
Dusty: Why alone?
Alison: I just got off from work.
Dusty: Doesn't your boyfriend pick you up from work?
Alison: My who?
Dusty: Where is he? He should be here with you.
Alison: And what makes you think I have a boyfriend?
Casey: Thank you for coming.
Maddie: What's wrong?
Casey: I have a government paper to do by tomorrow and I can't get past the title.
Maddie: That's why you called me? You sounded like somebody died.
Casey: Yeah. It'll be me if I don't get at least a "B."
Maddie: Well, what do you want me to do about it?
Casey: You're the smartest person I know!
Maddie: So you think that that's gonna get me to write your paper for you?
Casey: No. No way. I wouldn't want you to do that.
Casey: But, of course, if you want to, you know, I won't stand in your way.
Maddie: We're not in high school anymore.
Casey: I know, but this is like torture to me and it's like a slam dunk for you.
Maddie: Oh! I'm not writing your paper for you.
Casey: Absolutely not. I wouldn't want you to. I just panicked.
Maddie: Mm-hmm. Okay. Here's a trick. When I can't get started, I drink a lot of caffeine and get some brain cells firing.
Casey: I'll try anything.
Maddie: Okay. Let's go to Java.
Casey: Good idea. We better get going. My mom's coming home soon, and I'd rather be anyplace else.
Audrey: Well, it is about time.
Margo: Excuse me?
Audrey: I have been cooped up in here for hours.
Margo: Probably something you should get used to.
Audrey: No, because I didn't do anything.
Margo: You attempted to murder Barbara Ryan.
Audrey: Oh, brother. Please. That woman is stark raving hysterical.
Margo: Really? We found the medication you tried to poison her with.
Audrey: Really? Well, it was in her room, not mine. How should I know it was there?
Margo: All right. Nice try. This is about the Stenbeck inheritance, isn't it?
Audrey: No. You're very wrong. It was about me trying to be her friend. You see, Barbara just found out that she's cancer-free, and the poor woman didn't have anybody to celebrate with, so I felt sorry for her, and this is the thanks I get.
Margo: I really don't have time for this.
Audrey: Good, then just let me go.
Margo: Good, then you'll tell me where Ralph Manzo is?
Audrey: I already told you, I have no idea.
Margo: Not good enough.
Audrey: Okay, look. I know that you want to track Ralph down because he kidnapped your sister, but I'll tell you the one thing I do know -- if Ralph doesn't want to be found, then he is not gonna be found. Nobody can find him -- absolutely nobody.
Teri: Uncle Ralph! Oh, God! Are you okay? What happened? Are you -- you should have stayed in the hospital. You're worse off now than you were before.
Ralph: I need to sit.
Teri: Okay. What happened?
Ralph: Look, I hate to get you involved in this, but I had nowhere else to go.
Teri: No, no, no. Don't be ridiculous. You know there's nothing I wouldn't do for you.
Ralph: You're such a sweetheart, baby.
Teri: Will you tell me what happened? Were you in an accident?
Ralph: Pretty much. I got involved with something that I had absolutely nothing to do with.
Brad: Hey, this is Brad. I can't take your call, but you can bet I'll call you back if you leave a message.
[Answering machine beeps]
Janet: Hi, Bradley. It's Janet. I was just calling to see if there's been any word from Katie. Call me when you get this, okay? Liberty sure could use her father right now.
Jack: Brad, I need you to keep breathing. The medics are almost here.
Henry: Is that Ralph? He's not dead?
Jack: No, it's not Ralph!
Henry: Who is it?
Brad: Where is Katie? Where's Katie?
Jack: She's okay. She's okay.
Brad: Make sure she's okay. Did you get Manzo?
Jack: He was here?
Brad: He kidnapped her.
Jack: Okay. All right. No more talking, all right?
Henry: Is that Brad? Is he here? Is he all right?
Brad: Tell Katie that I'm okay. She has enough to worry about.
Jack: I will.
Brad: Yeah. I feel so funky.
Jack: Yeah, I know. Brad. Brad. Brad, you got to stay with me, please! Stay with me!
Henry: Is he hurt?
[Police sirens wailing]
Jack: How's Katie?
Henry: She's out.
Margo: Jack, are you in here?
Jack: Margo! Jack! There's a shooter who may still be on the premises, and I got two people who need medics.
Margo: Hey, sweep this place and give me a two-block perimeter! You, with me! Oh, Katie!
Jack: I need a medic over here!
Henry: Katie's out. She's lost a lot of blood, but the baby seems okay.
Margo: The baby!
Henry: Yeah, yeah. It's Katie's.
Margo: Oh. She did it all by herself?
Henry: Looks like it.
Margo: Oh, my God. Take care of both of them.
Medic: Detective, we can take it from here.
Jack: He lost a lot of blood.
Margo: Jack, what's your brother doing here?
Medic: I need the detective to stand down so we can work on him.
Margo: Come on. He's got to do his job. Did Brad come with you?
Jack: He came on his own. We didn't know he was here. When we got here, it was dark. We were fired on when we got in.
Margo: Was it Ralph Manzo?
Jack: That's what Brad said. He said he kidnapped Katie.
Margo: Yeah, I know that. Did Manzo shoot Brad?
Margo: I need your weapon, Jack.
Henry: No, no, no, no, no. It's self-defense. Ralph shot first.
Jack: It's all right.
Margo: I'm sure it was clean.
Jack: I shot my brother.
Katie: Where's my baby?
Henry: He's with the EMT. He's safe.
Katie: You have to tell Brad he has a son.
Margo: Yeah. You're gonna be okay now, Honey.
Margo: Yeah, yeah. They're gonna take you to the hospital, and you're gonna be just fine.
Katie: You'll call Brad.
Margo: Yeah. We'll tell Brad as soon as we can.
Ralph: It was like a big business deal that turned into a big double-cross, and the people who were involved, they're blaming me for all their mistakes.
Teri: I want to help you.
Ralph: The best way that you can help me is let me clean up my own mess, okay? You're a sweetheart. You are. You know that.
Teri: Yeah, I don't know about that. I don't know about that. I am not a doctor, though, and I can't stop this much bleeding. You can get infected. I think -- I think you should come with me to the hospital, okay?
Ralph: Theresa, please don't argue with me.
Teri: Okay. Okay. God, I need more antiseptic and more bandages to clean it up, okay?
Ralph: All right.
Teri: Oh, God. You promise me that you will not leave again, okay?
Ralph: I promise.
Teri: Okay. I'm gonna be right back.
Maddie: What is it, Mother?
Audrey: Where have you been? I have been trying to call you all day!
Maddie: What is it now?
Audrey: Nothing, I swear! Why do you always assume that I am guilty?
Maddie: Years of experience.
Audrey: That is so unfair.
Maddie: So what is it? Where are you?
Audrey: I am in the police station.
Maddie: Under arrest?
Audrey: Falsely accused.
Maddie: Of what?
Audrey: Attempted murder.
Maddie: Who did you try to kill?
Audrey: I didn't try. Nobody. It's all lies. Listen to me. I am the one who is in danger here. There's this rich, crazy lady who is trying to buy the legal system. She's turned everything around. You know they never believe a stranger that's in a one-gas-station town. You know that.
Maddie: Spare me the melodrama.
Audrey: Could you please just come down here?
Audrey: Good, and bring that friend of yours.
Maddie: What friend?
Audrey: That nice boy, the cop's son.
Maddie: No way.
Audrey: Maddie, please. I am being framed by the local power structure. I need someone that can help me fight back.
Dusty: I thought this guy was good for the long haul.
Alison: So did I. But his family, I mean -- mine is dysfunctional, but his family makes mine look like the Brady Bunch sometimes.
Dusty: Every family's messed up. You got to make it about you and him. That's it.
Alison: We couldn't.
Dusty: You want me to talk to him?
Dusty: Yeah, me. Why not?
Alison: How many relationships have you blown since you came back?
Dusty: Who's counting? Besides, I get smarter with each one.
Alison: Well, then, you must be a genius by now, my friend.
Dusty: Believe me, being alone is less drama.
Alison: Yeah, that's for sure. You and me both.
Dusty: Not you. You're young and beautiful and smart. I watched you turn your life around, Ali Cat. You should be beating these guys off with a stick.
Alison: Maybe that's what I did.
[Cell phone beeps]
Alison: Hmm. That's weird. They want me back at work.
Dusty: I thought you just finished your shift.
Alison: I did. Guess something big must have happened.
Dusty: I'll walk you.
Doctor: She lost a lot of blood.
Henry: Is she gonna be okay?
Doctor: We're still running tests.
Margo: What about the baby?
Doctor: He was premature, and the delivery was traumatic.
Margo: But he's gonna make it?
Doctor: We think so.
Margo: Okay. Where is he?
Doctor: In the neonatal ICU.
Margo: Okay, good. Thank God. Thank you, Doctor.
Henry: Thank you. At least Katie doesn't have to deal with the shock of knowing about Brad.
Margo: Oh, my God. What a way for that little guy to come in to the world.
Henry: It's all my fault.
Margo: Do you really want to do this? Let's not.
Henry: Look Margo, do whatever you have to to me, okay? You can arrest me. You can torture me. You can lock me away for the rest of my life. I don't care. I just want everyone to be okay.
Margo: You should have thought of that before you got Katie involved in this.
Henry: I know that!
Margo: You just better hope everything comes out okay.
Jack: Once you do the surgery, he's gonna be okay, right?
Doctor #2: We'll do everything we can, Detective.
Margo: How's he doing?
Jack: They're taking him to surgery.
Margo: Yeah, but you know what? He's tough.
Jack: Yeah. How's Katie?
Margo: They're trying to stabilize her now.
Jack: And the baby?
Jack: Oh, my God.
Margo: Listen, Jack, I'm sorry, but I'm gonna need a statement.
Jack: Can we wait till he gets out of surgery?
Margo: Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Keep me posted.
Jack: Where you going?
Margo: I'm gonna go find Manzo and nail his butt to the wall.
Alison: One of the nurses just told us that Brad was shot and Katie delivered her baby all by herself.
Henry: Yeah, that's right.
Alison: What the hell happened?
Henry: I don't even know where to start.
Alison: Where are they?
Henry: Brad is in surgery and the child is in intensive care and Katie's in there.
Alison: Okay. I'm gonna go check on her.
Dusty: Was it Ralph Manzo?
Henry: Yeah. Yeah, it was horrible. Because of me, he kidnapped her, and then he left her alone in this warehouse.
Dusty: She had the baby in a warehouse?
Henry: Yeah, and then Jack and I got there, and he was holding on to Brad, and then he started shooting.
Dusty: Did they catch him?
Henry: He got away. They're looking for him right now, though.
Dusty: I know how to find him.
Teri: What do you want?
Dusty: Where's Manzo?
Teri: How should I know?
Dusty: You know what your sweet Uncle Ralph's been up to? Ask me about the newborn baby in intensive care.
Teri: What baby?
Dusty: The mother gave birth in a warehouse, and the father's been shot.
Teri: Well, my uncle had nothing to do with that.
Dusty: Is that why he's hiding from the cops?
Teri: I told you, I don't know where he is.
Dusty: You're lying.
Teri: Why do you hate him so much?
Dusty: I'll tell you.
Teri: I don't care. Leave me alone.
Audrey: Oh, Maddie! I'm so glad you came. They don't believe me. They actually think that I tried to kill Barbara Ryan, but I didn't. She tried to kill me.
Maddie: What did she do, exactly?
Audrey: Poison. I think she was going to put it in my drink.
Maddie: Hmm. But she didn't?
Audrey: She was about to.
Maddie: Did she or not?
Audrey: In her heart?
Maddie: In your glass.
Audrey: I'm gonna have to say no on that.
Maddie: Did you try to kill her?
Audrey: No, no. Please, you have to believe me, really. Maddie, you're all I have.
Maddie: Oh. Hmm. And why is that?
Audrey: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you gonna help me or not?
Maddie: What do you want me to do?
Audrey: I just want you to talk to your friend, and then he can talk to his mother.
Maddie: Are you kidding me?
Audrey: Come on. I'm in really big trouble here.
Maddie: And whose fault is that?
Audrey: Oh, brother. Do you know, you are always so judgmental? I am sorry I can't live up to your standards, but then again, who could ever?
Maddie: Honest people.
Audrey: I am your mother. You owe me something.
Maddie: Not this.
Audrey: Okay. Wait a minute. Are you telling me you will not even ask him?
Maddie: No. No way in hell.
Casey: Mom, what's wrong?
Margo: Oh, what isn't wrong? Your Aunt Katie almost died in childbirth and Brad's been shot. Excuse me.
Casey: What? How?
Margo: Oh, I can't chitchat now. I've got to get to work.
Casey: Okay. I'll stay out of your way.
Henry: Hey. How you doing?
Katie: Where's my baby?
Henry: He's fine. He's fine. The doctor and the nurses, they're taking great care of him.
Katie: What about Brad?
Henry: He's fine, too.
Katie: Is he with our son? Oh. Oh, I wish I could have been there when he first saw him.
Henry: You will be.
Henry: Yeah, you -- all three of you will have so much time together. You really will. Just, I need you to close your eyes. There you go. Close your eyes, and you get some rest now, Sweetie.
Katie: Henry, I'm so tired.
Janet: Jack! Are you all right?
Jack: Yeah, I'm fine.
Janet: Oh, thank God! I thought something happened to you!
Jack: No, not me. Brad.
Janet: What happened?
Jack: Doctor, is he out of surgery? How is he?
Surgeon: Well, the bullet did a lot of damage.
Jack: But you fixed it?
Surgeon: The next few hours will tell.
Janet: Are you saying -- is it -- Bradley might not make it?
Jack: Thanks, Doctor.
Janet: What happened? Who shot him?
Jack: I did.
Jack: We came in. It was dark. I -- I had Henry to deal with. Someone fired from inside. I saw the flash from the gun, and I heard the bullets go by, and it was -- it was instinct. I fired back. He must have been holding Brad in front of him.
Janet: Who? Who shot at you?
Jack: Ralph Manzo.
Janet: My -- my Uncle Ralphie? I don't believe it.
Jack: Brad told me before he passed out. Katie confirmed it. Janet, what if I killed him? What if I killed my own brother?
Janet: No, you didn't. You couldn't. No, he's not gonna die.
Jack: You heard what the surgeon said.
Janet: God doesn't work that way. I shouldn't have let you go with Henry.
Jack: Honey, I had to. It was Katie.
Janet: You were drinking.
Jack: You think I was impaired?
Janet: Were you?
Jack: I was fine!
Janet: Okay. All right. Okay. Okay. I'm gonna go find Liberty.
Jack: No, just wait. Wait. Wait until he's out of the woods, okay? Can you do that?
Janet: What should I do?
Janet: Do you want to come with me?
Jack: I don't want to be here when they bring Brad up.
Janet: He's gonna be all right.
Alison: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Lie still, Katie.
Katie: Where is he?
Henry: He knows you're here. He's just -- he's concerned about the little boy right now.
Katie: Oh, did you see him, Henry? He looks just like Brad.
Henry: Lucky kid.
Katie: Can I see him?
Alison: First you have to get stronger.
Katie: But he needs me. I'm his mother.
Alison: Don't worry. We are spoiling him rotten, and as soon as you rest up, you can take over, okay? Don't worry.
Katie: Okay. You are lucky I'm so sleepy.
Katie: Because if I had any more strength, I'd wring your neck.
Henry: You'll have plenty of time to strangle me later. Right now you just need to get some sleep, okay?
Katie: I know. I'm just so blah.
Audrey: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait a minute! What are you doing? You're just gonna head out and leave me all alone and defenseless?
Maddie: You are never defenseless, Mother. You know what? My days of trying to save you from yourself are over. Good luck. You're on your own.
Audrey: Ma-- Maddie!
Maddie: Let's get the hell out of here.
Casey: What about your mom?
Maddie: She's not my problem.
Casey: If she's in trouble --
Maddie: I don't care.
Casey: Sure, you do!
Maddie: No, I don't. Are you coming or not?
Maddie: It doesn't matter. I will write your paper for you.
Casey: No. Will you come to the hospital with me?
Maddie: The hospital? Why?
Casey: I'll explain on the way.
Margo: What? What?
Casey: I know you think I don't care how you feel, but I do. I know how much Aunt Katie means to you. So, just tell me if there's anything I can do.
Margo: I will. Thanks.
Casey: Okay. I'm gonna go to the hospital.
Margo: All right, baby. I'll see you there.
Dusty: What's the rush?
Teri: What? Are you stalking me now? Do I need to call the police?
Dusty: Yeah. Call them, and tell them where to find your uncle.
Teri: I don't know where he is.
Dusty: Three people got seriously injured today. Your uncle's involved.
Teri: Why should I believe you?
Dusty: You don't have to. Let the cops talk to him, get things straightened out. You know Henry Coleman?
Teri: Yeah, he's part owner of Metro.
Dusty: That's right. He was there when it happened. He told me it was your uncle.
Teri: It just doesn't make any sense.
Dusty: Why would Henry lie?
Margo: A man was shot. He may not recover. A baby was born in a warehouse. The mother -- my sister gave birth to the baby all on her own. Now, we know that Manzo is responsible. If you know where to find him, this could be your way out.
Audrey: What if I did happen to think of something that might help you?
Margo: Just tell me what you know.
Audrey: What happens to me then?
Margo: I'll talk to the D.A. about your case.
Margo: Damn it, don't play games with me!
Audrey: I am not playing games. You drop the charges and let me go and I will hand you Ralph's head on a silver platter.
Margo: I don't have to make a deal with you. I can nail you and your son for attempted murder, racketeering, money laundering -- you name it.
Audrey: Okay. If you would rather jail a mother who was just trying to protect her son or get the actual killer, that's your choice, but I don't know. I think that'd be a little hard to explain to my sister. Just me.
Margo: You think you're any less guilty than Manzo?
Audrey: What Ralph did was a lot worse than my little caper with Barbara. She's alive and well.
Margo: No thanks to you.
Audrey: Do you or do you not want Ralph?
Margo: Fine. Where is he?
Audrey: Don't know.
Margo: Oh, for God's sake!
Audrey: I will find him for you. Uh, no. That's not exactly how it works.
Margo: You are in no position to tell me how it works.
Audrey: If there is a cop within five miles of me, Ralph would smell it out like a rat smelling cheese, so you need to officially release me. You need to get me out of here, away from all cops. Nobody can come near me, and I will set Ralph up for you.
Margo: If I don't have him in custody by the end of the day, there is no place that you and your son can hide that I won't find you.
Audrey: We'll be in touch.
Margo: Yeah. Damn straight, you will.
Margo: Audrey, stay away from my sister! Follow that woman. Don't let her out of your sight. I want a report every hour.
Dusty: It's not his business associates. It's him.
Teri: He wouldn't do the things you're talking about.
Dusty: Are you sure?
Teri: I have to go.
Dusty: If you don't want to protect yourself, that's okay, but this baby may lose one or both parents. There's got to be justice.
Teri: I said I have to go.
Janet: Blessed Mother, I know I used to come to you a lot during the hard times, and when I was pregnant with Liberty, you really helped me. You comforted me, and I could always feel your presence. But today I'm not here praying for myself. I'm praying for Bradley, and Katie, and their new little son. Please save Bradley, for his son and for Liberty, too. He never knew what it was like to raise his daughter, but when we got here, he sure did do a great job. So, please -- watch over him, and Jack, too, because I can't console him, but maybe you can. And one more thing. Please watch over the soul of Liberty's little baby who never got a chance to live, 'cause I know that he or she is with you. Please help us, Mother. Please help us find a way out of this nightmare.
Jack: What were you thinking? You had to go in there like a hot dog and try to save Katie alone, huh? And let that bastard get the jump on you? How was I supposed to know that you'd be in front of him, man? I didn't even know you were there. When are you gonna learn? I swear, you make it out of this okay, and I -- you got to make it out okay. Damn it, Brad. I've gotten you out of a lot of jams in the past, but -- I don't know how to get you out of this one. I'm sorry. I just don't know how.
Katie: Hey. Is that my boy?
Alison: He insisted on seeing his mom.
Katie: Can I hold him?
Henry: I think we should wait till you're stronger.
Katie: He's okay, though, right?
Alison: He's doing really great. He's a fighter.
Katie: Just like his daddy. Where is he?
Henry: He probably assumed you were asleep, otherwise I'm sure he'd be in here right now.
Katie: Well, will you find him? The three of us should be together right now.
Henry: Yeah. That's not a problem.
Maddie: Henry, are you all right?
Henry: Yeah. I'm fine. Don't worry about me.
Maddie: I need to talk to you.
Alison: I should probably take him back to NICU.
Katie: Oh, already?
Alison: Yeah. They're pretty protective over there.
Katie: Can't we just wait till Brad gets here?
Alison: You know, right now I think it's probably better if he just sleeps.
Katie: Okay. I'm sure Brad's been spending all his time with him anyway. Oh. Bye, my little beautiful boy. I love you so much.
Alison: I will check in on you later.
Katie: Thanks so much, Ali, and if you see Brad --
Alison: I will tell him.
Casey: Is that my new cousin? He's beautiful.
Alison: Yeah, I have to take him back.
Casey: How's Katie doing?
Alison: She's better.
Casey: And Brad?
Alison: He's out of surgery. That's all I know.
Casey: Okay. Thanks.
Maddie: You sure you're okay?
Henry: Yeah. Besides practically destroying my best friend's life, sure.
Maddie: You didn't do this.
Henry: It wouldn't have happened without me.
Henry: Don't. Please don't. Don't comfort me. I don't deserve that.
Maddie: Too bad. I'm doing it anyway.
Janet: Any change? Jack.
Jack: You know what, Honey? I can't do this right now.
[Cell phone ringing]
Margo: How is he?
Jack: No change.
Margo: Can you come in?
Margo: I need your report on the shooting.
Jack: Can't it wait?
Margo: We got a lead on Manzo. I want this case airtight the minute we bring him in.
Jack: I'll be right there. I got to go in to the station.
Janet: I can come with you.
Jack: You don't have to.
Janet: I know.
Katie: Where is he?
Henry: No. Unh-unh-unh. What are you doing out of bed?
Katie: I'm looking for Brad.
Henry: I told you I would find him.
Katie: Why were Jack and Janet here?
Henry: They came here to see you!
Katie: No, they didn't. Henry, tell me what the hell is going on.
Henry: I told you, Jack and Janet, they came here to see you, and they were given the wrong information, and they thought that you weren't receiving visitors right now, and so they went down to talk to the doctor, okay?
Maddie: Katie, you shouldn't be getting out of bed.
Katie: I just don't understand why Brad isn't here. Where is he?
Henry: I told you.
Katie: No, you didn't.
Henry: Katie, he's a new father. Where do you think he is.
Katie: Okay. But please tell him I'm not sleeping and I want to see him.
Henry: I will.
Casey: Do you know if Brad's gonna make it?
Alison: They really don't know. It's been touch-and-go.
Casey: My God.
Alison: How's your mom doing?
Casey: She's obsessed with finding the guy who did all this.
Alison: Must be hell for her.
Casey: I saw her earlier, and I just never know what to say to her.
Alison: All that matters to her is that you tried.
Casey: I wish that were true.
Alison: It is true.
Maddie: This is horrible.
Alison: Just try to look on the bright side. I mean, at least Katie's doing better, and so is the baby.
Maddie: Yeah, well, Brad isn't, and Henry's blaming himself for everything, which he should, because none of this would have happened if it weren't for him.
Casey: Just keep us posted, okay?
Alison: Yeah, sure.
Ralph: Whoa, finally! I didn't think you were coming back.
Teri: There's a lot going on at the hospital.
Ralph: Were you able to get the stuff that you need?
Teri: I know about the warehouse, okay?
Ralph: What are you talking about?
Teri: I'm sure it wasn't your fault, and things like this can get out of hand, but people were hurt, Ralph. A detective's sister, Jack's brother. There was a baby.
Ralph: What does this have to do with me?
Teri: I think you should turn yourself in.
Ralph: What? Are you serious?
Teri: I think it would be better for you if you went to the police before they come and find you.
Ralph: What do you know about this?
Teri: They just want to help you.
Ralph: You know the best way to help me? Stay out of it, Teri.
Teri: But I love you, and you've always been there for me, so I'm gonna stand by you no matter what, but I can't lie.
Ralph: Teri, put the phone down.
Teri: What are you doing?
Ralph: Put it down, Teri.
Jack: I entered the warehouse. I identified myself as a police officer. It was dark. Shots were fired in my direction. I returned two shots.
Margo: You had no idea that Brad was there?
Jack: Not until after I fired.
Margo: Well, one shot hit Brad and stayed there. The crime-scene tech saw fragments of the other shot, the second shot, but the path was deflected.
Jack: Maybe I hit Manzo.
Margo: Yeah. There were signs of fresh spatter patterns but nothing conclusive.
Jack: Good. Let's hope the bastard bled to death in a dumpster somewhere.
Margo: All right. What was the time between you identifying yourself and the hostile shot being fired?
Margo: And what was the time between that shot and your return fire?
Jack: Less than seconds.
Margo: Okay. Is there anything else you can tell me?
Jack: That's all.
Margo: Okay. It looks like it was justified. I'm gonna recommend to the commissioner that we closed the case, and you can pick up your gun on your way out.
Jack: Thank you.
Margo: And, Jack, this isn't your fault. There's no way you could have known that Brad was there.
Jack: But he was.
Janet: You didn't tell her you were drinking.
Jack: That's right.
Janet: Don't you think you should?
Henry: What are you doing here? How did you get out?
Audrey: Shh! Please, just keep your voice down. I promised Lieutenant Hughes that I would lead her to Ralph.
Henry: Are you crazy? He will kill you!
Audrey: Yes, I know. That's why I'm not going to do that.
Henry: Isn't that what your little friend here is going to make sure that you do?
Audrey: He is only there until I don't want him to be there.
Henry: Great, great. You're going to lam it on attempted murder charges. That's wonderful, Mother.
Audrey: What other choice do I have?
Henry: I don't know. I don't care. This is your problem, not mine.
Audrey: Not if Lieutenant Hughes has her way.
Henry: Are you threatening to flip on me?
Audrey: No! I am just simply asking for your help.
Henry: What kind of help, Mom?
Audrey: I want my half of your inheritance.
Henry: Your half?
Audrey: Yes, my half. We were partners from the beginning in everything.
Henry: Are you really trying to threaten me with that? The love of my life is gone, my two best friends are on death's door, and it's your fault!
Audrey: I think there is plenty of blame going around here, don't you?
Henry: I don't care about that, okay? I just want you to leave, and I never want you to come back, all right?
Audrey: Okay, fine. If that's what you really want, then that's what I'll do, because I've always tried to do what's best for my children.
Henry: Oh, please.
Audrey: Okay, son, look. I just want some traveling money, okay? I want my share of your inheritance. I happen to know that Barbara released that money, so just give it to me in cash, and you will never, ever have to see me again.
Katie: What is going on?
Katie: Brad! Oh, my God! What happened to you?
On the next "As the World Turns," --
Henry: Take it. It's yours.
Audrey: I just want my share. That's all.
Henry: Take the whole thing, if that's all you care about! All right? Just take it and get the hell out of my life!
Katie: You're alive!
Jack: Come on, let's go!
Katie: Brad? Brad? Brad?
Nurse: You can't take that baby out of here!
Katie: It's my baby! I'm taking him to see his father! It's a matter of life and death!
