[Lily sobbing]

Damian: You all right?

Lily: I never expected this.

Damian: Do you want me to leave?

Lily: No. Just hold me.

Damian: Tell me why you're crying, Cara.

Lily: Because this, being with you, means that I've accepted it. Holden's gone, and he's never coming back.

[Lily sobs]

Maeve: Sorry I couldn't get you something to eat before. Eb was supposed to go to the store, and he -- he finally left, so eat.

Holden: Maeve, look at me. What happened?

Maeve: Eat before he gets back.

Holden: Eb did this to you, didn't he? Answer me. Eb hit you.

Maeve: Yeah. He didn't believe I went to my cousinís. He can always tell when I'm lying.

Holden: You know, you can't go on living your life like this. He's dangerous. He's gonna end up killing you one day.

Maeve: No, no. He wouldn't do that.

Holden: Happens all the time. Women get beaten within an inch of their life.

Maeve: Look, it's just a bruise, okay? It will heal.

Holden: How many times has this happened before?

Maeve: I don't keep count. Here.

Holden: That many, huh?

Maeve: Eb doesn't want me dead. He just wants me to himself. Sometimes he drinks. He doesn't know his own strength.

Holden: Why are you -- why are you making excuses for him all of the sudden?

Maeve: Holden, Eb and I have been together a long time. I don't know what he'd do if I left him. I don't know if he could take care of himself.

Holden: Maeve, you're not losing your nerve here, are you? You're getting out of here, remember?

Maeve: No. He will come after me. He will find me. He will drag me back here, and he'll do worse to me.

Holden: I won't let that happen.

Maeve: What are you gonna do? You're half-starved. How far do you think you're gonna get before you give out?

Holden: As far as I have to, but I need your help. I need you to stay strong.

Maeve: I don't think I can do it.

Holden: Of course you can. You promised me that we were gonna get out of here together. Don't take that away from me.

Maeve: I never should have gone to that bank. I never should have tried to get you your money.

Holden: All right, you know what? Just forget all about that. Let's focus on getting you out of here. You deserve to be treated better than this. I mean, you don't deserve to be a punching bag. You deserve a life where you're not afraid.

Maeve: You really think I deserve better than this?

Holden: I do. Don't you?

Maeve: No. But you're right. This is no way to live. I'm done. It ends today.

Damian: I didn't want to make you feel worse.

Lily: It's not you.

Damian: Tell me what you need, Cara.

Lily: Don't ask me that.

Damian: You mustn't punish yourself for being alive.

Lily: That's not what I'm doing. I'm sorry. You're trying, but you have no idea how I feel.

Damian: You're right. Look, I can tell how much pain you're in. I can't help wanting to make it go away.

Lily: That's never gonna happen, because you can't fix my feelings. It doesn't work that way.

Damian: I know.

Lily: No, you don't know, because you've never loved anyone as much as Holden and I loved each other.

Damian: I think I understand much more than what you give me credit for.

Lily: I'm sorry, Damian. I know you want to help. But the only person that could make it better would be Holden, if he would walk through that door and tell me this was just a terrible mistake.

Damian: Do you think that shocks me?

Lily: I don't think it's what you want to hear. It's the truth, and it's always gonna be that way.

Damian: I have no expectations.

Lily: Yes, you do.

Damian: I can't stop hoping that -- the last thing I wanted to do was put pressure on you. I've waited for you for a long time. I'm gonna wait as long as I have to.

Lily: No matter what you say, that is pressure.

Damian: I can see you need some distance. I'll go.

Lily: Thank you for understanding. Oh, my God.

[Faith opens the bedroom door and sees her mother and Damian in bed and runs]

[Lily gasps]

Lily: Oh, my God! Faith. Faith, no! Faith! Faith!

Luke: Faith, how did it go? Faith? Faith, come on.

Faith: Let go of me!

Luke: Faith!

Lily: Faith! Faith, come back!

Luke: Faith, what's going on --?

Luke: No.

[Lily and Damian come in the room in their robes]

Holden: Maeve, when I said that you don't need to live your life like this, I meant that we were gonna get you out of here.

Maeve: No, I heard you loud and clear.

Holden: You know, there's a right way, and there's a wrong way, and -- and you don't want to do something that you're gonna regret.

Maeve: I won't regret it. I have to get away from him. There's only one way to do that.

Holden: No, no, no. You don't mean that.

Maeve: I do!

Holden: Listen, you don't want to do this. You're just gonna get caught. That's not what you want.

Maeve: It will be worth it.

Holden: You're gonna end up in prison! You don't want to sacrifice your life for this guy.

Maeve: I don't have a choice! Dead is the only way to keep him away from me!

Holden: You can get a restraining order.

Maeve: No. Unless that comes with a bear trap, it ain't happening.

Holden: Maeve, there are places that help battered women, okay? We'll find you one. You can live your life far away from this place.

Maeve: I don't want to live my life in hiding. It's no different than this!

Holden: It is different! It's like a whole new world.

Maeve: You don't know Eb like I do. I run off from him, I get a hatchet in my back.

Holden: You know what? You're just used to being scared. You'll get past it.

Maeve: No. You know what? You're being real nice to me, and I appreciate that, but that doesn't help with what I got to do.

Holden: Maeve, you need to sit down. We need to talk about this.

Maeve: We are going free! We're walking out of here today!

[Eb walks in with a bouquet of flowers and they go in the bedroom]

Eb: I'm sorry, baby doll. You know I love you. Sometimes, you just make me so darn crazy.

Luke: I really don't know what to say right now.

Damian: Luke, I've -- I found your mother outside, and I brought her home. She was so upset, I couldn't leave her on her own.

Luke: So you decided to take your clothes off? Mom?

Damian: Go easy on your mother, Luciano.

Luke: Faith walked in on the two of you in bed, didn't she? That's why she ran out of here. She saw the two of you -- what is wrong with you? With both of you?

Lily: I should have locked the door.

Luke: You should have locked the door? Is that what you have to say for yourself?

Lily: I need to find Faith before something happens.

Luke: It's too late.

Lily: No, I can explain. I need to make her understand.

Luke: No, Mom, you need to make me understand. Because right now, I don't! And I don't think I ever will! Mom, are you crazy? Faith doesn't want to talk to you right now.

Lily: No, Luke, I need to make her understand!

Luke: No, you need to go and get some clothes on. I will handle Faith.

Damian: Luke, I'll go with you.

Luke: No, Damian. You've done enough.

Damian: Luciano --

Luke: Damian, get away from me. I need to find my little sister.

Meg: Faith. Hey, I didn't know you were coming by.

Faith: Do you know where my dad's leather jacket is? He usually kept it in the stable, but it's not there. I wanted to wear it riding.

Meg: Hey. Sweetie, is that why you're so upset, 'cause you can't find Holden's jacket?

Faith: That, and everything.

Meg: Do you want to talk about it?

Faith: It's not like you could fix it.

Meg: Maybe not, but I could listen.

Faith: I just wanted to go riding.

Meg: Faith, I know how much you miss your dad. We all do.

Faith: Not everyone. They all should, but they donít.

Meg: I miss my brother. And Brad and Jack, they miss their cousin. And Mama, she misses her little boy. We all have broken hearts, but we all deal with it in different ways.

Faith: You can say that again.

Meg: Hey, what do you mean, Honey?

Faith: Do you know where the jacket is or not?

Meg: I'm sorry. I donít. I'd help you find it, but I'm waiting for Damian. We're going to catch a flight. We're going to Aruba for a few days.

Faith: You and Damian? I don't think so.

Meg: Faith, what's wrong with you? Why would you say that?

Faith: 'Cause your boyfriend is having sex with my mother.

Damian: Lily, please, will you sit down, try and relax?

Lily: How can I relax after what I did to my children? They're in so much pain after losing their father, and I just -- oh, my God. I'm never gonna be able to make this right.

Damian: They were caught by surprise.

Lily: And I just made it a thousand times worse. Did you see the way Luke looked at us, like we had betrayed his father's memory? We did! I did!

Damian: No. You weren't trying to hurt anyone. You were just looking for a way to take the pain away.

Lily: I was weak. I should have waited. I should have known better. And of all the people that I -- they're never gonna forgive me for this.

Damian: Lily, listen to me.

Lily: Stupid, stupid mistake!

Damian: You did nothing wrong.

Lily: I cheated on Holden!

Damian: Holden's gone. You lost your husband, and you're dealing with your loneliness the best way you can.

Lily: No, this isn't the best way. This is the worst thing I could have done.

Damian: Lily, what do you want me to say?

Lily: Nothing, nothing! You'll just confuse me.

Damian: That's not my intention, Cara.

Lily: I know, I know. I'm sorry. I'm not mad at you. I'm just angry at myself for making a choice that I'll never be able to justify, and I'll never be able to take it back!

Damian: Sweetheart, Sweetheart, you were lost. It's only human to seek comfort.

Lily: It wasn't worth it. And now my children hate me.

Damian: No! They could never hate you.

Lily: Yes, they can. Yes, they can. And Faith already has a head start.

Damian: No. Listen to me, you will not make things better for her or anyone else if you keep punishing yourself.

Lily: Who is there to blame but me? I could have said no. I just wanted it all to stop for a little while.

Damian: I know, and you did.

Lily: It wasn't worth breaking their hearts.

Damian: Listen, we didn't plan this. It just happened. Of course it's difficult for your children to understand.

Lily: I don't understand.

Damian: Yes, you do, Lily. We know what's in our hearts. And I'm tired to have to apologize for that to anyone.

Lily: What about Meg?

Luke: Faith! You shouldn't have run off like that.

Faith: What did you want me to do, help Mom find her underwear?

Meg: Faith!

Faith: I'm sorry, but I wouldn't make something like this up. It's too disgusting.

Luke: Look, Faith, I know you're upset.

Faith: I hate both of them.

Luke: Yeah, and I'm pretty mad at them, too, okay?

Faith: Then why are you on my case?

Luke: I'm not. But we can't run away from the situation. We have to deal with it.

Faith: How?

Luke: By talking to Mom.

Faith: No way!

[Luke sighs]

Meg: Okay, look, look. Look, I heard Faith's side of the story. Now I need to hear your version. What's really going on here?

Luke: Meg, it's just some family stuff that Faith and I have to deal with.

Meg: Well, I am family. And if it's with Damian, I need to know what's going on.

Luke: Meg, I -- you have to talk to Damian. I'm sorry. Look, I need to make sure that Faith gets back home. My mom's really worried about her.

Lily: Ever since you and Meg got together, she's been saying that there was something going on between us, blaming me every time the two of you even had the slightest misunderstanding.

Damian: She's made her share of accusations to me, as well.

Lily: I denied it. I even got angry. But she was right. I am such a hypocrite.

Damian: Lily, you didn't lie to her. Nothing happened while Holden was alive. You wouldn't betray your husband.

Lily: And now?

Damian: Now we made love. Neither one of us saw it coming. We had no agenda.

Lily: And now we live with the consequences.

Damian: I'm very sorry Faith walked in on us when she did. It was a terrible way for her to find out.

Lily: Meg is gonna hate me, too.

Damian: Meg is my problem, not yours.

Lily: She's Holden's sister.

Damian: And I'm the father of your son. You and I have a connection that is stronger than anything else, Lily.

Lily: So you never cared about Meg?

Damian: I cared about Meg. I care about Meg very much. I even thought we might have a future together. But what you and I share goes much deeper, Lily. I don't have to explain it to you. It just is.

Lily: You will never replace Holden in my life. No one could. But it doesn't look that way. My children are gonna think that I never cared about their father, because if I had, I would have waited. I would have used my head.

Damian: This isn't about what's in our heads, Lily. We're in each other's hearts, too. And I'm sick and tired of fighting it.

Lily: Damn it, Damian! This isn't about us! It's about my family, Holden and mine, and the fact that one reckless choice may have destroyed it!

Damian: There's nothing we can do now but damage control. So you take care of your children, and I'll go and speak to Meg.

[Lily sighs]

Eb: Visiting your cousins. It wasn't even a good lie, Maeve. Got me so mad. Please be sweet from now on. Don't make me get rough with you. You just tell the truth now. I won't ever have to hit you again. All right? You know I'm crazy about you.

Maeve: I know.

Eb: You gonna be good now? Promise? Music to my ears.

Maeve: I'm kind of hungry. You want me to fix you up something to eat?

Eb: Heck yeah. Is there any of that venison sausage left?

Maeve: Oh, yeah. Sit on down. I'll fix it up right up. How about a nice, cold beer?

Eb: Mm. Now you're talking.

Maeve: It's just you and me now.

Meg: Where have you been?

Damian: With Lily.

Meg: It's true, isn't it? You slept with her.

Damian: I won't lie to you.

Meg: I want to hear you say the words.

Damian: It's true. I slept with Lily.

[Meg smacks Damian]

Meg: All this time, whenever I asked you whether you still had feelings for Lily, you made me feel like an idiot. I was just your backup plan.

Damian: What are you talking about?

Meg: You used me. You used me to get to her.

Damian: That's ridiculous.

Meg: You know, I don't want to hear it. Everything out of your mouth has been a lie. I was your way in. If you were with me, you were family. I should have listened to my mother for once.

Damian: I had no plan, Meg. I promise you, you were not part of some strategy --

Meg: Mama didn't trust you! She didn't want you around, and I fought her. I gave her whole sermons about how much you changed. And this whole time, you and Lily were laughing at me behind my back.

Damian: If that's how you think, then you don't know me at all.

Meg: Maybe I donít. And believe me, now I really don't want to.

Damian: If that's how you feel, then maybe it's a good thing it's over.

Meg: No, don't turn this on me. You're the one who slept with another woman. And not just any woman, my dead brother's wife. Was Holden's side of the bed still warm?

Damian: What an ugly thing to say.

Meg: What an ugly thing to do. Well, at least now I know I'm not paranoid. You made me feel guilty for being jealous.

Damian: I never gave you reason to be.

Meg: How long have you and Lily been having sex?

Damian: Not until this afternoon. And I was on my way here to tell you because I didn't want to deceive you.

Meg: It seems like you've been a model citizen. No choices, no blame. Life just happens, and you just go with it, no matter whose life you destroy.

Damian: I didn't destroy your life.

Meg: I'm talking about Lily's and poor Faith.

Damian: None of this would have happened if Holden were still alive. Lily and I would have kept our feelings hidden away forever.

Meg: You didn't hide anything, Damian. If I could see it, trust me, everybody else could. Which didn't really bother you in the least.

[Meg chuckles]

Meg: And as for Lily, well, at least now I don't have to feel bad for not living up to her example anymore.

Damian: I'm sorry I hurt you, but the truth is, I have deep feelings for Lily. And now that Holden is no longer --

Meg: Holden is dead! My brother is dead, and you want his wife!

Damian: Put it any way you want, Meg. Lily and I have always loved each other, and there's no reason to deny it anymore.

Maeve: Come on.

Holden: Oh.

Maeve: Easy, easy. Not too steady on your feet.

Holden: It feels like I've been in these chains forever.

Maeve: One step at a time. Come on.

Holden: My feet feel like they're asleep.

Maeve: They hurt?

Holden: Come on, let's go.

Maeve: Okay. Just lean on me. Just lean on me. Easy, easy.

Holden: You didn't kill him, did you?

Maeve: Don't think so. Bopped him on the head pretty good. Here, you stay here. I'm gonna get the keys to the truck. He usually drops them right here.

Holden: Check his pockets.

Maeve: Nothing. They're probably in the pickup. I'll be right back.

Holden: We should probably tie him up. He's not gonna stay unconscious for long.

Maeve: I have a better idea. This way, we'll make sure he doesn't follow us.

Lily: Sweetie, I can't even imagine what you might be thinking right now. Please, please know that I'm so, so sorry. We need to talk about what happened. Faith, what you walked in on was something very personal between me and Damian, and I wish that it had stayed that way.

Faith: I wish it never even happened. Dad just died. How could you be sleeping with somebody else?

Lily: I don't know.

Luke: You don't know?

Lily: I'm just saying it took me by surprise. It really did. I'm trying to explain it to myself as much to anyone else.

Faith: Well, don't give me some lame excuse about how I'm too young to understand. I know about sex. And I'm not gonna let you forget about Dad, no matter how hard you try.

Lily: Oh, Sweetie, I haven't forgotten about your dad. It's just the opposite. But I think about him so much that I feel sick. I can't eat. I can't concentrate. I hear a door slam, and I just jump out of my skin. Half the time, I just want to cry. And the other half, I want to go to sleep and never wake up.

Luke: Mom --

Lily: Luke, that came out the wrong way. I would never do anything to take me away from you. The two of you and your brother and sister, you're my whole life. I would never intentionally hurt you. I'm trying to help you with your grief. But because I'm grieving, too, I'm not doing a very good job of it. And Damian -- he sees that, and he is trying to help me the best way he can. And today, things just -- it just sort of spilled over.

Faith: You're still lying.

Lily: No, Faith. I wouldnít. You saw what happened in the room. I wouldn't insult your intelligence by trying to explain it away.

Faith: But you were fooling around with him before Dad even went to Kentucky. Maybe that's why he went.

Luke: Wait. Is Faith right? Were you and Dad having problems?

Lily: No, no! Faith, why would you say that?

Faith: I saw the two of you kissing, and it wasn't just a friendly kiss. Maybe if you hadn't cheated on Dad, he wouldn't have went on that trip and wouldn't have had that accident.

Lily: It was one kiss. It was a mistake, and we both realized it right away.

Faith: Was sleeping with him a mistake, too? I hate you! I'll hate you for the rest of my life!

Luke: Wow.

[Door slams]

Luke: I guess that explains a lot.

Lily: I had no idea what she saw. I could have explained it.

Luke: It's too late for that, Mom. You might as well be honest with me. How long have you and Damian been having an affair?

Holden: You don't want to do this, Maeve.

Maeve: I think I do. After what this man's put me through, a nice, clean bullet to the back of the head is better than he deserves.

Holden: Okay, I can understand why it would be tempting, but you don't want to be like him. You want your freedom, not revenge.

Maeve: I want both.

Holden: Just think this through, okay? If you do this, the police will know that it's you. They will come after you, and you will be on the run for the rest of your life. You said that's not what you wanted.

Maeve: No, but it'll still be worth it.

Holden: It's either that or prison. And then Eb wins. He will have taken away your life without even lifting a finger.

Maeve: It's not fair.

Holden: Well, that's the way the system works. Come on, Maeve. You're not a killer. You're a good person.

Maeve: You're right. I am too good to kill him. But if he accidentally starved to death, I wouldn't exactly cry my eyes out. Tie him up. See how he likes it. Keys. Truck didn't drive itself. I can't find them. I don't know where they are.

Holden: Well, you know what? We can't waste much more time.

Maeve: Without wheels, we're stuck.

Holden: All right. Well, then, we'll just have to -- we'll have to call for help.

Maeve: I think I know where the phone is. Come on. Shortcut through the woods.

Holden: All right. Let's go.

Lily: There was no affair. It was one kiss. It was a mistake. It was nothing. It was less than nothing.

Luke: Yeah, and you guys decided that it was wrong, and you should just forget about it.

Lily: That's right. Damian was with Meg. Your father and I were closer than ever, Luke.

Luke: Mom, couples who are that close don't accidentally kiss another person.

Lily: Sometimes they do. You know that very well.

Luke: Not couples like you and Dad.

Lily: Luke, how many times can I say it was a mistake? I'm glad your father didn't find out about the kiss, because that's all it was. There was nothing else going on.

Luke: Are you trying to convince yourself or just me here?

Lily: Why would I lie? You know the worst already.

Luke: I'm not talking about the sex, Mom. But if it was there --

Lily: I didn't cheat on your father, Damian.

Luke: Maybe not physically, no. But Dad hasn't been gone for very long, and you were already in bed with someone else. I mean, there must have been something there, right? How else do you explain it?

Lily: I canít. I'm just human.

Luke: Mom, that is so lame!

Lily: Luke, that's not the whole story. I haven't been sleeping, so I went to see Susan Stewart, and she prescribed some sleeping pills.

Luke: You're not supposed to take pills.

Lily: I know that. But I was desperate to get some rest, and Susan said it would be safe. So I took the pills, and I woke up in the pond.

Luke: You were in the water?

Lily: And I would have drowned if Damian hadn't heard me and pulled me out.

Luke: So that's what he was talking about, how he said that he had found you outside.

Lily: Thank God he did, because I was so disoriented, and I would have never found my way home, Luke.

Luke: So you decided to repay him by sleeping with him?

Lily: Donít. I know you're mad at us.

Luke: Mom, whatever you think, I guarantee you, its worse.

Lily: Luke, I know this is hard for your sister to understand. But you are the last person I thought would judge me.

Meg: Well, you chose Lily over me.

Damian: It wasn't a choice.

Meg: Well, thank goodness. I feel so much better now.

Damian: Meg, I care about you.

Meg: Just not as much as you care about my sister-in-law, the grieving widow.

Damian: It's different. Lily and I have a history. And to have to watch her like this -- her heart is broken.

Meg: Oh, so the only way to fix it was to sleep with her?

Damian: I dragged Lily out of the pond today. She was drowning!

Meg: What?

Damian: If I hadn't come along, we all would be searching for her body right now.

Meg: What are you talking about? Lily has been swimming in that pond ever since she was a little kid.

Damian: She was sleepwalking. She walked into the water. She didn't know where she was. She panicked.

Meg: Oh. So you decided to play hero and rushed to her rescue.

Damian: I know I hurt you. All I can do is beg for your forgiveness.

Meg: You don't have it. Get out of my house.

[Maeve groans]

Maeve: Let's take a break.

Holden: How much farther?

Maeve: Far enough that you're not gonna make it unless you take a breather.

Holden: Well, I think we need to keep going.

Maeve: Tough. It's an order. Sit. Look, Ebís not going anywhere. We'll get to a phone soon enough. How are your legs?

[Holden laughs]

Holden: A little rusty.

Maeve: Don't worry. I'll take care of you.

Holden: Well, as soon as we get to that phone, we're both gonna be taken care of.

Maeve: I want to do it. I owe you. If you hadn't talked some sense into me, I'd still be back there, waiting for the next smack. And you were right. I wanted to leave Eb forever, only I never had the guts. I kept praying to the lord that he would send someone to rescue me. And then you came into my life. And I just knew you were the answer. You're like an angel -- you are -- sent from God. And I owe it to him to take care of you.

Holden: Well, you need to be taken care of, too. And I'm gonna make sure that you get that help.

Maeve: You're all the help I need.

Holden: We need to get going.

Maeve: Yeah.

[Holden groans]

Maeve: I've got you.

Lily: Every night, when I go to bed, I pray to God that the pain won't be there in the morning, but it still is. And then I start to feel Holden's presence. And I forget that I can't call him to tell him something -- something funny. Nothing's funny, and there's no one to tell. You kids are miserable, I'm miserable, and it feels like it's gonna be this way forever, because your dad is really gone. And now, I've dishonored his memory.

Luke: Well -- what's happened's happened, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Lily: That just makes it worse, Luke.

Luke: Yeah. But it has to get better eventually.

Lily: How?

Luke: I don't know. I don't know. But we can't keep living like this, can we?

Lily: Can you ever forgive me?

Luke: You're shaking. Maybe you should go upstairs and get some rest, even if you can't sleep.

Lily: Would you? Please? Oh, baby, I love you.

[Knock on door]

Luke: Damian, go away. No one needs to see you here.

Damian: Luciano, I'm sorry.

Luke: You should be. You made me believe that you wanted to be part of my family. You made me trust you. But in the end, it was all about my mother.

Damian: That's not true.

Luke: You took advantage of her at the most vulnerable point in her life. And for that, I can never forgive you.

Luke: Luciano, please try to understand --

Luke: You know, when my dad died, I was so incredibly sad. But there was this part of me that thought that I was luckier than my brothers and sisters, because I still had a father. But I donít. Holden was my dad, and you -- you are just a cheap imitation.

Damian: You don't really believe that.

Luke: He told me about how you use people, how you always have an ulterior motive. But I tried to defend you. And why would I do something like that? Is it because we share some DNA? I mean, does that even matter? It doesn't matter to you, because obviously, to you, I was a means to an end!

Damian: At one time, maybe, I admit it. But not anymore.

Luke: Oh, Damian, come on! You are still the same selfish bastard that you've always been! And frankly, I don't want you in my life.

Damian: Luciano, you don't know what you're saying.

[Laughing]

Luke: I don't know what I'm saying? I know this. I know that my father, my real father, the only one that counts, is dead.

[Gunshot]

Holden: What was that?

Maeve: It's squirrel hunting season.

Holden: That shot sounded like it was pretty close.

Maeve: Yeah.

Holden: You know what? Maybe they have a cell phone. We should try and find them.

Maeve: No, no. We can't do that. It could be one of Ebís hunting buddies, and they'd turn us in in a heartbeat.

Holden: What are we supposed to do, hole up here till dark?

Maeve: No. Go in the other direction, away from the shot.

Holden: Can we get to a phone that way?

Maeve: Yeah, yeah, but we got to double-time it. This way. Come on. Go, go, go! Got to hurry. Straight ahead. Let's go.

[Maeve screams]

[They fall in a hidden hole and land on the bottom of a pit]

Faith: Where is she?

Luke: If you're talking about Mom, I think she's in her room.

Faith: Good. I can't even stand the sight of her right now.

Luke: Look, Faith, I get it. You're mad. I'm mad, too. But we got to cut Mom some slack.

Faith: I canít.

Luke: Faith, there is some stuff going on with her that you and I will never understand.

Faith: I don't care. I'm never gonna forgive her for what she did to Dad.

Luke: You have no idea how bad she feels right now.

Faith: So? Don't you hate her for what she's done?

Luke: No. No, I don't hate her. I hate what she's done, yeah. But, Faith, she's our mom, and right now, she's all we have.

Faith: Please don't say that.

Luke: Look, Faith, Dad's gone. But we are still a family, and we have to stick together. That's what he would have wanted.

Faith: I'm sorry. I know Damian's your father, but I really wish he'd never come here.

[Luke chuckles]

Luke: I know. And I feel the same way. But everything's gonna be all right.

Faith: No, it's not.

[Voice breaking]

Lily: Holden -- I'm so sorry.

[Maeve groans]

Eb: Well, well, well. What do we have here?

Maeve: What are you gonna do, Eb?

Eb: Well, I could leave you here to starve to death or get eaten by a hungry bear. Or -- I could shoot you.

On the next "As the World Turns" --

Casey: What's wrong?

Margo: Adam is about to make a bad situation worse, and you are the only one who can stop him.

Meg: You need to change, and fast, or you're gonna lose everything. And not just Damian. Your whole family.

Lucinda: What will it take to get you out of my daughter's life for good?

Damian: Meet me. There is something you need to know.
