Casey: Okay, you kissed me.
Alison: You didn't kiss back.
Casey: By the time I realized -- wait, wait, wait, you told me you got this room because you wanted to spend the night with me?
Alison: No, I shouldn't have told you that. I didn't mean to put you on the spot --
Casey: Okay, wait, wait, time out. Somewhere in there, you forgot to say anything to me. I wouldn't have even come up here, if I didn't see you getting on the elevator.
Alison: You already had plans. You're going to dinner with your parents. And you have a date later.
Casey: The thing with Maddie isn't a date, it's just -- wait! Hold on -- why didn't you say anything about this before?
Alison: I don't know -- major fear of rejection. Oh, well. My loss.
Casey: But you're the one saying you don't want to do the relationship thing. How you just -- you said you wanted to be friends.
Alison: I changed my mind.
Alison: Yesterday. The day before. I can't remember. But you shouldn't keep your parents waiting, so why don't --
Casey: But why -- why did you change your mind?
Alison: I don't know, Casey! Because it's New Year’s Eve. But you already have plans, so I guess I'm out of luck.
Casey: Well, guess again.
Lucinda: Ah! Those for me?
Brian: They're for Luke. They're just delivered.
Brian: You're dressed for bed.
Lucinda: You noticed.
Brian: Are you feeling okay?
Lucinda: I'm feeling extremely fit and exceedingly amorous.
Brian: Oh, well, lucky me.
Lucinda: Yeah. And luckily for us, Lily and Holden took the little ones away skiing.
Brian: Oh. Got to love the quiet.
Lucinda: Yes, indeed. So in this relative privacy, I thought maybe we would forgo Metro, and stay home, and have a party of our own.
Brian: We can have a party of our own after the New Year’s Eve party.
Lucinda: Why waste time?
Brian: I'm all dressed.
Lucinda: And I can undress you.
Brian: Lucinda -- I really want to go.
Lucinda: Why don't you want to be alone with me?
Jade: Hi. I'm in kind of a hurry.
Bonnie: Big New Year’s Eve plans?
Jade: What'd you buy?
Bonnie: Henry and Vienna decided to take a little holiday vacation, so I'm hosting the party at Metro. And I forced myself to buy something new just for the occasion.
Jade: That's nice. Well, happy New Year.
Bonnie: Jade, if you're not doing anything, you should come by tonight.
Jade: To Metro?
Jade: Is he going to be there?
Bonnie: Derek will probably stop by at some point. But that shouldn't keep you away.
Jade: Why do you keep trying to push us together?
Bonnie: Oh, I don't know. Maybe because you might be his daughter?
Jade: He doesn't want to know me, whether I'm his daughter or not. I'm fine living my life without him.
Bonnie: Sitting at home on New Year’s Eve -- doesn't sound like living to me.
Noah: Wow. You look amazing.
Maddie: Thanks. Who are you calling?
Noah: I was just checking to see if Luke called me. I sent him some flowers earlier, and I thought --
Maddie: Noah! That's so romantic!
Noah: It's that kind of night.
Maddie: You're blushing! What kind of plans do you and Luke have?
Noah: Private ones. Where's Casey?
Maddie: Oh, he's having dinner with his parents at Lakeview. And then he's coming here. Honest opinion -- do you think he'll take one look and fall madly in love with me again?
Noah: If you don't knock him dead tonight, I don't know what will.
Alison: Okay, okay. What was that?
Casey: I decided to kiss you back.
Alison: And what, we go from, like, kissing to closing the deal in two seconds flat?
Casey: You're the one who got the room with the big bed.
Alison: Well, I mean, there is other furniture. We could sit and talk. Maybe go get some food, get out of here. What is it? What?
Casey: Something just moved down there.
Alison: No, it didn’t. You're making that up. You're not making that up? Ew, what is it? Like, something creepy that's going to come out and get us?
Casey: Not if I kill it. Just stay back.
Alison: Be careful. What? What was it?
Casey: You are just full of surprises, Alison. I didn't know you were so experimental in bed.
Alison: What are you talking about?
Casey: Do you want to explain this?
Alison: What is wrong with these people? The maid service in this hotel is terrible.
Casey: This isn't yours?
Alison: What do you think? It had to have been left here by the last guest.
Casey: Alison, the worst maid in the world is not going to miss a toy car in a bed. What is the story? Is this a toy from when you were a kid? Do you like to sleep with it?
Alison: It's not mine.
Casey: If you say so.
Alison: You know, Casey, if you're going to make fun of me, you can just go.
Casey: Does it sound like I'm not being serious? Because I am. I'm very serious.
Alison: Just get out, Casey.
Casey: Okay. You know what? I'll call downstairs and complain. I'll even ask my grandma if she'll fire whoever cleaned this room.
Alison: No, no, no, no, no. Don't do that.
Casey: I'm glad you said that. 'Cause this is what I really want to do.
Alison: Oh, let's go.
Alison: Downstairs. To report this.
Casey: You're not going to let this thing go?
Alison: It's the principle of the thing.
Casey: Okay. You go fight the good fight. And I'll wait for you here.
Alison: No, you can’t.
Casey: Why not? Did you change your mind about --?
Alison: What if I did?
Casey: Then I would have to think you weren't being straight with me about why you really got this room. Either way, I'm not going anywhere.
Alison: Casey, you can't stay here.
Casey: It's a nice room. It's paid for. You can leave if you want. I'm staying.
Alison: Fine! Whatever. I'll be right back. Do not touch anything.
Casey: I won’t. I won't touch anything, until you get back. And then I'll touch everything.
Alison: Lucy, it's me. Call me back now. And whatever you do, do not bring Johnny back to the room.
Luke: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt.
Lucinda: Don't be silly, Darling. We just didn't expect that you would be coming back this evening.
Luke: Oh, I'm just coming back to change. I'm meeting Noah at Metro. Excuse me.
Brian: Oh, those are your flowers, by the way. They were just delivered.
Luke: Oh. Thank you.
Brian: You should get ready, Darling.
Lucinda: It is not my readiness that is at issue this evening. I have absolutely no intention and no desire to go with you to Metro this evening.
Luke: You shouldn't have married her.
Brian: I beg your pardon?
Luke: She's a newlywed. She wants to do what newlyweds do.
Brian: Do not presume to tell me what my wife wants.
Luke: Well, if you're not up to the task, then you shouldn't have gotten married. At least not to a woman.
Maddie: Where is he?
Noah: I'm sure dinner just got delayed. He's cool. You know, if he had to cancel, he'd call.
Maddie: Of course he would. I should have checked my cell. It's not in here!
Noah: What, your phone?
Maddie: I must have left it in Henry’s room. Casey couldn't reach me if he tried.
Noah: Sure he could. He's got my number. And Luke’s. And he could just call here and ask for you.
Maddie: Yeah. You know what? I think I'm going to run back to the hotel room and get my phone, just in case.
Noah: And maybe just stop by the dining room, and hurry his dinner along while you're there, hmm?
Maddie: Well, if I'm there already -- why not? And, Noah --
Noah: If Casey comes, I'll text you.
Derek: Ms. McKechnie, I've got to file a complaint about the way you're managing this place.
Bonnie: Why, Mr. Coburn, what is the problem?
Derek: You. You are the most beautiful woman in the room. And it's just not fair to your customers.
Bonnie: Well, I think that is an oversight. You see, if you let me slide tonight, I'm sure I can ugly-up by Valentine’s Day.
Derek: No, no, I definitely like you just the way that you are.
Bonnie: Oh, well I'm glad that you think so. Because I think it would maybe open you up to a few new possibilities.
Derek: Well, I'm always open. What did you have in mind?
Bonnie: I wasn't talking about us. I was thinking about Jade.
Derek: Bonnie, I told you, I want nothing to do with this girl.
Bonnie: No, come on, so don’t. But I want to let you know that I did give her a personal invitation to drop by tonight.
Derek: Why would you do that?
Bonnie: Well, I happen to like Jade. And I think you should get to know her.
Derek: Bonnie, just drop it.
Bonnie: Come on, Derek. She may be your daughter.
Derek: Or she might not be. Either way, I don't really care.
Bonnie: Okay, so tell me something. All of those years ago, when you were dating rose, did you like her?
Derek: Of course I did.
Bonnie: So, at the very least, Jade is the daughter of someone who you cared about. That may not matter to you, but it should.
Derek: You know, since you find my behavior so distasteful, perhaps I should find a less beautiful woman to be with tonight. Excuse me.
Brian: Be careful what you say. People could overhear and misunderstand.
Luke: You mean, find out about who you really are, instead of who you're pretending to be?
Brian: This is between my wife and me.
Luke: Yeah. But your wife is also my grandmother. And seeing you lying to her turns my stomach. You're conning her.
Brian: First of all, no one cons Lucinda Walsh. And secondly, I have never asked her for a thing. I'm the one who insisted on a pre-nup, if you'll remember.
Luke: Yeah. But you won't touch her. You won't love her. How can this marriage be good for her?
Brian: I love her! I love her with all of my heart. Now listen to me, Luke. The mastectomy hit her really hard. She puts on a good show of being active. But in actuality, she's been shutting herself down. She's hiding away in this house. And that's not good for her. That's why I insisted on taking her out tonight.
Luke: Yeah, but if Grandmother wants to stay in and spend the evening with her so-called wonderful husband, then you should just do that.
Brian: I am a good husband. And my choices, including when and where we celebrate New Year’s, are always based upon what's best for Lucinda.
Luke: Not always.
Brian: I thought we were past that.
Luke: As long as my grandmother was happy, it was none of my business. But she sure didn't look happy tonight.
Brian: We had a disagreement. You and Noah have had a few of those, as I recall.
Luke: She's not stupid, Brian. If you're not sleeping with her, she's going to figure out that something's wrong.
Brian: The only thing that's wrong is that you interjected yourself into a private matter between my wife and me. Don't do it again.
Alison: Yeah, I found the car. Is there anything else that might -- okay, a rubber ducky in the tub. I'll make sure to hide that. Okay -- do you have someplace warm to hang out with Johnny? Are you sure you're going to be okay tonight? Okay, I'll call you and let you know when it's safe to come back. Okay, bye. Casey, I've been thinking, and I really think that -- what are you doing?
Casey: Waiting for you. I freaked you out?
Alison: Kind of.
Casey: Isn't this what you wanted?
Alison: Yeah, I thought we were going to take our time and work up to it.
Casey: Yeah, we can. But by the way you kissed me before, I just thought you were ready to rock and roll.
Alison: Not as ready as you are. Look, I'm going to go to the --
Casey: Hey, take your time.
Alison: What about the dinner with your parents and your date?
Casey: I called everyone. We have all night. Alison? Are you okay in there?
Alison: Yeah, just don't come in.
Casey: Don't worry, I'm not getting up from the bed.
Alison: Did you hear that just now? Outside? Maybe you should go out and check it out.
Casey: Maybe later. Do you want me to go? Ali, come here.
Lucinda: Hello. I thought you had gone to the party.
Brian: Well, I was on my way up here to make up with my wife when I was waylaid by your grandson.
Lucinda: And what did Luke have to say?
Brian: Luke thinks I should take better care of you.
Lucinda: I agree with him.
Brian: Lucinda, you proposed to me. You certainly have more money than I do. We live in your daughter's house.
Lucinda: I'm a formidable woman, I have a big family. And you knew all of that when you married me.
Brian: And I'm a strong, stubborn man who tends to balk when he feels like he's being led by the nose.
Lucinda: I'm not doing that. What I want is for us to make love at least once.
Brian: So do I. My plan was to take you out dancing, toast in the New Year, and then bring you home here to bed. I want to make love as much as you do. But I'll be damned if I'll perform on command.
Lucinda: Well, I'm not going to get myself all gussied up at your whim, either. If you want to go to the party so much, why don't you just go? Go by yourself.
Brian: I think I'll just do that.
Luke: Hey. Did you see my flowers?
Luke: Noah sent them. I am so in love. I never knew it would be like this.
Luke: Well, we're going to that New Year’s thing at Metro, if you want to come. Jade, how many times do I have to apologize to you?
Jade: You know, when you're supposed to be someone's best friend, you don't sell them out the first chance you get.
Luke: I was trying to save your life. The police were after you.
Jade: You turned me in. How could you do that?
Luke: Well, look how awful it ended up. You told the truth. And thanks to Derek, you're sitting here safe and sound, instead of on the run or rotting in some jail cell somewhere.
Jade: You shouldn't have lied to me.
Luke: You know what? I am so tired of being judged. I have been called a liar so many times lately that I can't just stand here and choke it back. So if you want to be mad, and sit here all night, fine. Be my guest.
Bonnie: I just really don't want you to turn your back on her.
Derek: Maybe it would be different -- maybe I would be different if I were proud of my life. But I'm not, Bonnie. It wouldn't be an honor for Jade to find out I was her father. If anything, she'd be ashamed.
Bonnie: Well, now you're underestimating her.
Derek: Family means something different to me than it does to you. In my experience, those connections always end up being more trouble than they're worth. So if we're going to have a nice evening together tonight, we need to table this discussion.
Bonnie: And talk about what? Like, Superbowl?
Derek: I thought you'd never ask.
Jade: I thought you and Lucinda were going out for New Year's.
Brian: That's what I thought. But it seems I'll be celebrating solo tonight. Happy New Year, Jade.
Lucinda: Brian? Bri -- oh. Have you seen Brian?
Jade: He just left. Honeymoon over?
Lucinda: No one invited your opinion, Dear. In fact, no one has invited you in this house at all.
Jade: Lily and Holden asked me to stay here.
Lucinda: Yes, because they were being kind. So once again, you wormed your way into their household.
Jade: Their household -- not yours. You don't have anything to say about it.
Lucinda: Lily and Holden are starting afresh, they're starting new. They do not need the likes of you lurking around here causing mischief.
Jade: Hey, what about you? You think they want their mother-in-law in the next room while they're trying to save their marriage?
Lucinda: I am here because they insisted upon it, because they care about me. Whereas you are here because you are a leftover obligation.
Jade: Well, at least I'm not some pathetic old witch who can't even get her own husband to take her out on New Year’s Eve.
Luke: Nice tie.
Noah: Thanks. My boyfriend gave it to me.
Luke: Yeah. Well, if that's so, I'd have the excuse to do this. Who kissed you?
Noah: Maddie. Did you get my flowers?
Luke: Yeah, yeah. They were great. What was up with that letter? "Don't open until 2009."
Noah: Exactly what it says. You don't get to open that until tomorrow -- when you wake up next to me.
Luke: So tonight really is the night.
Luke: Dance with me? Oh, what's the matter, Noah? Are you afraid of sticking out in the crowd?
Noah: Not if it's with you.
Brian: Scotch, please.
Alison: I've never made out with a naked man before. I mean, while I was, you know, still dressed and everything.
Casey: We can start slow. We can start by taking off your shoes.
Alison: Casey? Why did you want to stay?
Casey: I've been wanting you. We've been spending so much time with each other that maybe I thought it was curiosity that I would kiss you and be over it. But then, instead of being what I expected, it --
Alison: It made you want more? Me too.
Casey: What's wrong? Did you roll over on another toy? Those suckers hurt.
Alison: Don't, please. I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't -- I shouldn't have done this to you.
Casey: Well, I thought you were doing it with me.
Alison: I'm sorry, Casey. I know I told you I was ready for this, but I'm just -- I'm really not. It's me, it's not you. I led you on, and I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry.
Casey: Yeah, right.
Alison: You're disappointed.
Casey: Well, I hope you don't think it's because you won't have sex with me, because you're way off.
Alison: Then why are you --
Casey: We are friends, Alison. And we tell each other the truth. And I know you want to be in that bed with me, but I don't know why you stopped.
Alison: I told you, I just --
Casey: Yes, you've told me a lot of stuff tonight. That you're going on a date with some guy you never even mentioned before, that you got this room for you and him. But now, out of nowhere, you claim that was for us?
Alison: What are you accusing me of?
Casey: The only time I felt like you were telling me the truth tonight was when you kissed me. What's going on?
Alison: I'm sorry I ruined your plans.
Casey: Did I say anything about that?
Alison: You shouldn't have canceled your date with Maddie. If you hurry, you can go find her. You did cancel your date with Maddie, right?
Casey: I canceled with my parents. I called Maddie.
Alison: Did you actually talk to her?
Casey: I got her voice mail and I hung up.
Alison: Casey, you should've talked to her.
Casey: Well, she would've asked me where I was. I didn't want to lie to her. And I sure as hell didn't want to tell her I was looking forward to getting naked with you.
Alison: So, what? You thought standing her up would be better? Why do you want to make her hate you?
Casey: I want her to give up on me. In the end, I'll just let her down, eventually. Why prolong the agony?
Alison: You should go find her and apologize.
Casey: I'll do that. As soon as you tell me what's really going on with you.
Derek: I guess that's my cue to leave.
Jade: You don't have to run. It's not like I'm going to ask you for an allowance.
Derek: I'm not running. I just have no interest in prolonging this.
Bonnie: Okay, Derek, this is not really the time --
Derek: Because whatever it is that you're looking for, Jade, I'm not it.
Jade: You got that right. I am definitely not looking for you. I'm actually looking for Luke. Have you seen him?
Bonnie: Yeah, he's over there with Noah.
Jade: Thanks. And thank you again for inviting me. I really appreciate it.
Bonnie: Oh, yeah, any time.
Jade: For the record, guy-to-never-be- known-as-dad, I used to pray every day I'd find my biological father. Now I pray even harder it's not you.
Lucinda: Happy New Year, crazy Mrs. Wheatley. What the hell am I doing? [Groans] I have a husband who loves me, I think. Why am I drinking alone?
Jade: You guys look great together.
Noah: Oh, thanks. How are you doing, Jade?
Jade: Not so hot. But that's no excuse. I want to say I'm sorry.
Luke: Aw, Jade, forget it.
Jade: No, I can't forget it. I've given you such a hard time these past few days, and I want to apologize. Can I borrow him for a minute?
Noah: Sure. I'll get us two club sodas.
Luke: Okay, thanks.
Noah: Hey, there you are. I thought maybe you and Casey went off to be alone together or something. What's wrong? What'd I say?
Maddie: I can't do this in front of all these people.
Noah: Okay, well let's get you out of here. Can I get you something -- some water or something?
Maddie: No, I don't need anything. Thanks for walking me over here, but you should go back. Luke's waiting.
Noah: I will, in a minute.
Maddie: But you guys have plans for a romantic evening. I don't want to ruin it.
Noah: Maddie, I wasn't going to leave you bawling in Metro, I'm not going to leave you here. What happened?
Maddie: I was way off about Casey. He's not into me at all anymore.
Noah: What, he just came out and said that?
Maddie: No -- I found out he's sleeping with Alison Stewart.
Noah: Are you sure about that?
Maddie: When I went to go pick up my cell phone in Henry’s room, I heard them through the door.
Noah: I'm so sorry, Maddie.
Maddie: He said he was having dinner with his parents. The whole time, he was just having a booty call.
Alison: There is nothing wrong. I told you that already.
Casey: About how you thought you want to have sex with me, but no?
Casey: Why not?
Alison: Because you trust me like nobody else ever has, Casey. And I can't be with you while --
Casey: While what? Why, are you thinking about something else? Someone else?
Alison: Stop trying to make this into some huge mystery, Casey. It's not! And can you please, please not tell anybody that you were here with me tonight?
Casey: What difference does that make?
Alison: Because it was a mistake. And I have made too many of those.
Casey: No, no. That is not it.
Alison: Casey, is your ego so huge that you can't believe that I would change my mind about sleeping with you?
Casey: I know you, Ali. And you're not going to jump in bed with some guy, without thinking it through. Not anymore. So for you to throw yourself at me for one minute and pull away the next -- that doesn't make sense.
Alison: Why do you think I'm hiding some deep, dark secret?
Casey: Because I am! I realized tonight that the reason I've been so weird around Maddie, is because I want you. And you want me. And I think we're both too scared to admit it.
Jade: So then, after Lucinda yelled at me --
Luke: Wait. My grandmother yelled at you? Why?
Jade: Well, she was angry and alone, and needed someone to blame it on. She started with her usual, about how I'm not worthy enough to breathe air. But then she said that I wasn't invited to stay with you guys.
Luke: Well, that's not's true. Of course, you were invited. You're my cousin, we're family.
Jade: Yeah, and you proved that to me the minute you didn't hesitate to help me. You could've been caught the cops, and you still never shut the door. Unlike some people. Luke, if you're ready to patch things up, I am too.
Luke: Of course I am.
Jade: So do you want to dance?
Luke: Ah, yeah.
Bonnie: Excuse me for interrupting.
Luke: Actually, it's okay. I need to -- I need to go find Noah. I'll be right back.
Jade: Look, I know you're trying to be nice, but I don't want to talk about Derek.
Bonnie: Okay, okay, we don't have to. But listen, could you just swear that you don't take anything that he said tonight personally.
Jade: How can I? He doesn't even want to know me. That's pretty personal.
Bonnie: Okay, Derek’s bark is worse than his bite. Come on, I mean, he found a way to get you out of trouble. He's really not that bad of a guy.
Jade: No, Lily gave him a big chunk of change to help me. He didn't do it for me.
Bonnie: I don't know. Maybe he did it to honor your mother. Or maybe he's just a decent guy. But either way, could you just not close that door?
Jade: Bonnie, that door was never opened.
Alison: I don't want to hurt you. And I don't want to lose you, but --
Casey: But you have secrets you need to keep to yourself? That's okay.
Casey: Well, is it anything that's going to get you arrested or killed?
Alison: Probably not.
Casey: And you'll tell me everything as soon as you can?
Alison: Who else?
Casey: Then yeah. We're cool. You want to go, get some coffee?
Alison: You should go find Maddie.
Casey: There you go. Pushing me, always, to do the right thing.
Alison: You do the same for me.
Casey: You know, they say the person you ring in the New Year’s with is going to be important to you the whole year -- so be careful of who you hang out with at midnight, okay?
Alison: You too.
Bonnie: Lucinda --
Lucinda: Hi, Darling.
Bonnie: You look positively radiant.
Lucinda: Oh, thank you, thank you.
Bonnie: And I hear that congratulations are in order.
Lucinda: Oh, yes, yes.
Bonnie: So tell me, are you enjoying married life?
Lucinda: I'm still learning the ropes, Darling. I was just wondering if, himself -- has he shown up?
Bonnie: Yes. Brian was at -- the bar. I don't know where he is. But maybe he's with Noah or Luke, or --
Lucinda: Well, where are they?
Bonnie: That is strange. They were here, now they're not. I'm sorry, Lucinda. I am not quite sure where they went.
Brian: Luke, Luke -- you shouldn't be out here walking around by yourself.
Luke: You got that right.
Brian: You're drunk.
Luke: I am.
Brian: You know what, why don't you let me get you home, so you don't get in anymore trouble?
Luke: Brian, stop trying to take care of me. You know what? You're not exactly Mr. Sober yourself. You know, I saw you at the bar, knocking back --
Brian: Oh, so you did see me. You just chose to ignore me.
Luke: How, Brian? How can I ignore you? You marry my grandmother. You move into my home. Trust me, I would love to ignore you. But you're making that impossible.
Brian: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Just -- just -- here, come here, sit down. That's it, that's it.
Jade: Noah. I've been looking all over for you.
Noah: Why, is Luke all right?
Jade: Yeah, he's fine. That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about. I've been awful to him lately. And now that we've made up, I kind of want to buy him a late Christmas gift. Do you want to go get some coffee and talk about what he might like?
Noah: Well, actually, I was hoping to get back to Luke.
Brian: Luke, you're a mess. You need somebody to take care of you, even if it's not me.
Luke: But you want it to be you, right? Noah doesn't want me. But you do, right?
[Luke passionately kisses Brian]
Noah: Get your damn hands off of him!
Brian: Noah, you've --
[Noah hits Brian in the mouth and Brian falls]
Noah: Are you okay?
Luke: What'd you just do?
Noah: What I should have done a long time ago. Come on, let's go.
[Jade runs over and sees if Brian is okay]
Lucinda: Brian! Brian! What happened?
Brian: I was mugged.
Lucinda: This is terrible. I'm calling the police. Here, write it down. Did you see what happened?
Brian: No, I'm fine. I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine.
Jade: No, I didn’t. I was just trying to help.
Lucinda: Oh, Darling --
Brian: I'm fine, really.
Lucinda: No, you're not fine. You were assaulted. I'm calling the police. You must know something. Do you have some description?
Brian: No, no, no. No, no, no. I want you to spare the police the wasted effort.
Lucinda: Stop it, you were assaulted.
Brian: I know, I know --
Lucinda: What are you doing?
Brian: Listen, just -- I doesn't make any sense to get the police involved. I didn't see the guy, he came at me from behind, and then he ran away when Jade showed up.
Lucinda: Oh, right. Okay. Oh, poor Darling. Oh, this is all my fault! It's all my fault!
Brian: I shouldn't have been here in the first place.
Lucinda: No, no, it's my fault. If I had just gone alone with my gallant husband when he asked me out to a party, this would never have happened.
Brian: You're here. You're here. You changed your mind.
Lucinda: Yeah, I remembered what's important. Come on! Come on home!
Noah: Are you okay?
Luke: I'm fine. I'm just worried about you. How's your hand?
Noah: No, I'm fine. You look kind of out of it. You know, Brian might have spiked your drink. We should probably go to the hospital.
Luke: No, no, I'm -- I'm just shocked.
Noah: Yeah, so am I. I cannot believe that Brian would try and pull something like that on you again.
Luke: I should probably get some ice for your hand.
Noah: No, really, it's fine. This is all my fault.
Luke: No, don't say that.
Noah: No, if I just believed you from the beginning. I mean, he just seemed like such a nice guy, you know? What happened? How did it even start? Why were you two in old town together?
Luke: I saw you leave with Maddie. I went to find you.
Noah: He followed you so he could get you alone. You know, when I saw him kissing you -- I could have killed him.
Luke: Noah, that -- that's not how it actually happened.
Noah: What do you mean? I saw it. He was kissing you. Luke, he started it, right? No. No, no, no, no. He -- you wouldn't have done that.
Luke: Noah, I --
Noah: You wouldn't have done that to us. Why, Luke? Why?
Luke: Because I saw you leaving with Maddie.
Noah: I have got to get out of here.
Luke: Noah, Noah, I had a couple of drinks. I just --
Noah: Do not touch me!
Luke: Noah --
[Bells tolling midnight]
[Luke opens up Noah's letter to him]
Noah: Dear Luke, if you followed my directions and didn't read this last night then it's the first day of 2009. We spent our first night together, and I'm lying in bed with you, watching you read this. Knowing me, I'm betting I didn't say everything you needed to hear last night. You've always been better with words than me. But I want to thank you, Luke, for being my love for being my future. Happy New Year.
Casey: Maddie, wait, wait. Don't go. About tonight --
Maddie: What about it?
Casey: I'm sorry I didn't make it to Metro. I got tied up with my parents --
Maddie: Stop it, Casey. I know where you were, and who you were with.
Casey: How did you find out?
Maddie: Does it matter? I can't believe I let myself trust you. That I put myself through this again.
Casey: I'm sorry.
Maddie: You're always sorry. And it's always too late. Happy New Year.
Derek: Do you have a cup of kindness for me?
Bonnie: I should be asking you that. I thought I had chased you away by pushing Jade on you.
Derek: It's going to take a lot more than that to keep me away from you. But please, can we just focus on us from now on?
Bonnie: I'd like that.
Crowd: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 --
Alison: I thought you were heading over to Metro.
Casey: I'm not really in the mood.
Alison: What happened?
Casey: Where are you headed?
Casey: Yeah, I should probably head home, too.
[Noisemakers and cheers]
Casey: Happy New Year, Ali.
Alison: Happy New Year, Casey.
On the next "As the World Turns" --
Lucy: I found a match for Johnny.
Alison: Oh, my God. Who? Who is it?
Katie: Does Craig know about this?
Lucy: No. And if you agree to do this, you can't tell him. Johnny's life depends on it.
Josie: Lucy and Johnny, they're in Oakdale.
Dusty: Alison, it's Dusty. Let me in.
