Lily: I never felt like I understood Jade. Now I feel like I understand her even less.

Bonnie: Well, usually, when you tell someone that their niece has committed a felony, the first thing that they say is, "Well, that's impossible. She would never do something like that."

Lily: That's the thing with Jade. Trouble follows her wherever she goes.

Bonnie: Being an accomplice to armed robbery isn't exactly the kind of trouble a kid her age usually gets into.

Lily: I wish I knew how she got involved in this mess. Jade's impulsive. She would never intentionally hurt anyone. And she'd never risk going to prison because she wanted money.

Bonnie: You don't paint a very pretty picture of Derek's daughter, if she is his daughter.

Lily: Jade is a beautiful girl. She's bright, she's sweet. The problem is, she's believed her whole life that no one wanted her.

Bonnie: Will she come to you for help?

Lily: I hope so.

Bonnie: Me too. Because if there's any merit in these charges and Jade was found to have carried a firearm, she could go to prison for life.

Jade: Miss me?

Luke: Jade!

Lily: The problem is, Jade never felt like she belonged. She would try so hard, but then she'd make mistakes. If she was in trouble --

Bonnie: She wouldn't want you to know.

Lily: I love her, Bonnie. She's all I have left of Rose. We've got to figure out a way to find her. I mean, maybe your contacts in Florida --

Bonnie: If I call asking questions, it will only raise suspicions. Lily, it will lead them straight to your door.

Lily: Well, how I can I help her if we can't find her?

Bonnie: Well, she'll need money. She doesn't know that you know that there's a warrant out for her. So what do you think she'll do?

Lily: She probably wouldn't come to me for money. I mean, maybe Holden or Luke --

Bonnie: Well, call them. Let them know that she's in trouble.

Lily: But then what?

Bonnie: Lily, you've got to get Jade to turn herself in. The longer that she's AWOL, the worse it is going to be for her.

Josie: Please do that again.

Dusty: Look at you? I'm looking at you. That's how I knew you were counting your money. You out of cash?

Josie: No, I've got some money coming.

Dusty: From?

Josie: That big box store in Milltown. For a few magical hours, I encouraged shoppers to sample almond-covered cheese balls.

Dusty: Cheese balls?

Josie: 'Tis the season. The holidays can be stressful. You need your protein.

Dusty: Did they give you a few for the road?

Josie: Oh, yeah. A whole box full. But a woman cannot live on cheese balls alone. And besides, they've got a great special here. Brisket sandwich, buy one, get one free.

Dusty: Do you even know what brisket is?

Josie: Buy one, get one free. I can learn to love it.

Dusty: If you need a job, you can work at Worldwide.

Josie: No. People know that we had a thing. If they know that you hire me, they'll snicker about me in the restroom.

Dusty: Well, since we're not having a thing anymore, I'm only offering lunch.

Josie: First you buy me dinner, and now lunch? Are you getting ideas?

Dusty: Yeah, I like brisket.

Josie: Food is expensive. I really need a job.

Dusty: You liked working for Barbara.

Josie: Well, that was before she hated me.

Dusty: Give her another chance.

Josie: No, it's Barbara who has to give me the other chance. And I don't think that she's going to. Especially after I pretended to be some recycled version of her daughter.

Dusty: You never know. She might surprise you.

Josie: I'm starting to think you like having me around, Donovan.

Dusty: Maybe.

Barbara: But you see, I have reason to believe that my son went somewhere where he wouldn't be discovered.

Clerk: I understand, Ms. Ryan --

Barbara: No, you don't understand. He is despondent and he's irrational and I need to know if he's taken a room in this hotel. I need to find him.

Clerk: I cannot disclose any information regarding guests. If Ms. Grimaldi found out, she would have my --

Barbara: Oh, why I am even talking to you? Where is Lisa?

Clerk: Ms. Grimaldi is out.

Barbara: Lisa, its Barbara. I am -- I'm very worried about Paul and I need to talk to you. Would you please call me the minute that you get this message? Please.

Meg: Okay, calm down. Oh, you need to calm down, Honey, so I can help your daddy. Everything's going to be okay. It's going to be okay. I know it feels like the other day, but now it's really real. It's too early. It's still too early. Okay, okay, okay. Paul? Paul? Paul, come on, wake up. Paul, wake up! Wake up! We have to get those -- those pills out of your system. Come on, come on, wake up. Wake up. I need to get you to the hospital. Come on. Come on! I need to go there myself. Come on. You have to do this for your daughter, please. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on, get up! Oh, my God! I think the baby's coming.

Josie: That was delicious.

Dusty: When was the last time you ate?

Josie: Breakfast. I have a fast metabolism. So what were you saying about Barbara?

Dusty: I was saying she doesn't hate you.

Josie: Her daughter died and I played on that. Mother Theresa would hate me.

Dusty: Barbara knows you need the money and that Paul offered to pay you. She forgave him.

Josie: That doesn't mean she'll forgive me.

Dusty: Well, you never know until you try.

Josie: Have you forgotten the meeting that she set up between me and Paul? He tried to get me to lie to you to save his marriage.

Dusty: So the problem is, how you feel about Barbara, is that it?

Josie: I -- I don't trust her. I know I'm not in a position to be judging anybody, but something about going begging to her, it just doesn't sit right with me.

Dusty: Do you want me to talk to her?

Josie: No. Just let me think about it, okay? And while I'm thinking about, you can buy me dessert. Something chocolate?

Dusty: Yeah, you got it.

[Cell phone rings]

Dusty: Donovan.

Meg: Dusty, it's Meg. I really need your help. Paul has taken an overdose of anti-anxiety meds. And I think he tried to kill himself.

Dusty: Should I care about this?

Meg: I can't get him to wake up, Dusty.

Dusty: You're with Paul now?

Meg: I've been trying to get him to open his eyes because I need to get some fluids in his system to flush out the meds. But every time I get him to come around, he just passes out again.

Dusty: You're at Fairwinds?

Meg: I'm at the cabin. I'm at Paul's cabin. Please, please, Dusty, you have to come and help me, please? I've tried calling Holden, but he's not home. I just can't get him to wake up.

Dusty: I'll call an ambulance. I'm on my way.

Meg: Right, right, right -- an ambulance. I'm not even thinking. You need to find Barbara. Let her know what's going on.

[Meg grunting]

Dusty: Meg? Meg!

Josie: What happened?

Dusty: Meg, are you okay? Find Barbara and tell her to meet Paul at the hospital.

Josie: I'll come with you. We can call her in the car.

Dusty: No, find her and stay with her.

Josie: Are you serious? She doesn't want me anywhere near her.

Dusty: Paul overdosed. He might be dying. He's her son. Do this for me. Find Barbara. Get her to the hospital. Stay with her.

Josie: Okay, sure, but -- but she's going to have questions. Where are you going to be?

Dusty: With Meg.

Lily: Holden's not answering. Neither is Luke.

Bonnie: Do you have the cell number for Jade?

Lily: Yeah, I haven't talked to her in a while. Disconnected.

Bonnie: Well, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe she just got a new number.

Lily: Do you think your friend Derek could be her father?

Bonnie: Derek had a thing with your sister and the timing was right and --

Lily: Bonnie, if it could be true, I mean, it would mean so much to Jade, to meet her biological parent.

Bonnie: He doesn't want to reach out to her, Lily. He doesn't even want to find out if Jade is his.

Lily: And if she ends up in prison, he's never going to want know her.

Luke: So Jade, why didn't you tell me you were coming? And why have you been such a total jerk?

Jade: I tried to keep in touch, but --

Luke: Oh, yeah, you never write. You never call. What's going on?

Jade: Nothing much.

Luke: Well, you would not believe what's happened in my life. Things have been pretty crazy. So, um, does my mom even know that you're here?

Jade: No. No, not yet.

Luke: So how long are you staying for? Where's all your stuff?

Jade: No stuff. And I'm not staying.

Luke: Are you okay?

Jade: Yeah, I'm fine. I couldn't be better. It's my parents, my adopted parents -- they're not doing so good.

Luke: Is somebody sick?

Jade: No, it's financial stuff. Money's tight. And I tried to help them, but -- Luke, if they could just have a few thousands dollars, they could keep their house. It would just be a loan. But it's kind of a desperate situation.

Luke: Uh-huh.

Jade: So you can help me?

Luke: Well, that depends.

Jade: On?

Luke: On if you tell me the truth or if you keep playing me? Because I've got to tell you something, Jade. I am sick to death of people lying to me and treating me like I'm an idiot.

Jade: I'm sorry.

Luke: Yeah, well, you should be. Because I'm here for you. What is it?

Jade: I need money. Enough to disappear. Maybe for good.

Barbara: And you're sure that Paul has not come back to the house? Okay, I want you to go through every single room. Make sure he's not there. I'm going to hold.

Josie: Barbara?

Barbara: Not now.

Josie: I know I'm the last person that you want to talk to but I have to tell you --

Barbara: I don't want to talk to you. I don't want to know you.

Josie: I didn't volunteer for that job. Your son came looking for me.

Barbara: Get out of here before I have you thrown out.

Josie: Don't bother.

Barbara: Yes, I'm still here. Is Paul there? Okay, listen, if he does come back -- no, no, no, don't ask him to call me. You call me, all right? I am very worried.

Josie: I know where he is. Paul. I know where he is.

Barbara: You do? You've seen him? Is he all right?

Josie: You need to go to the hospital. They're taking him there now.

Barbara: Oh, God. I knew he was going to do -- is he alive?

Josie: As far as I know.

Barbara: Oh, thank God.

Josie: But you need to get to the hospital right away.

Barbara: Yes, yes. Yes, thank you. Thank you -- thank you for telling me.

Dusty: What are you doing?

Meg: CPR. I can't get a pulse. He wasn't breathing. But he's back -- he's back now. Did you call an ambulance?

Dusty: Are you all right?

Meg: I'm fine. Is an ambulance coming?

Dusty: Yes.

Meg: Oh, God!

Dusty: Meg --

Meg: Oh, God! --

Dusty: Is this like before or is this the real deal?

Meg: No, I'm in labor. My water broke.

Dusty: Okay, how far apart are the contractions?

Meg: I don't know. Maybe five minutes, maybe less.

Dusty: Okay, you've got to come with me.

Meg: Uh, no, no, no, no. I have to stay here for Paul, okay? I have to wait for the ambulance. He might stop breathing -- he could die --

Dusty: Meg, your baby's coming early. We've got to go to the hospital.

Meg: No, I am not going anywhere unless the ambulance gets here. I have to tell them what happened. What meds he took.

Dusty: What meds -- where's the -- where are the pills? Where's the bottle? Here, give me that. Now the EMTs have everything they need. Let's go.

Meg: No, no. How do I know you called an ambulance? How did I know that?

Dusty: You donít.

Luke: Jade, you're really scaring me. Who are you running from?

Jade: The police.

Luke: What did you do? And you better tell me the truth. Don't you dare think about lying to me right now.

Jade: Luke, I can tell you everything, but I would take way too long. And time is not what I have right now. Okay, please, they can be here any minute.

Luke: Well, then you better hurry.

Jade: Okay, I met a guy.

Luke: Oh, how did I know it was start like that, Jade?

Jade: Look, I met him in Miami. His name is Robby. Can you just give me the money, please?

Luke: Jade, if you don't tell me the truth right now, I'm going to call the cops myself.

Jade: Okay, we went out clubbing. He got himself wasted on tequila, so we went to the convenience store to get him some -- some aspirin for his hangover. And I waited in the car. All of a sudden, he gets back in the car with a pillowcase full of money. And a gun I didn't know he had.

Luke: Well, what did you do?

Jade: I tried to get out of the car. That's when he turned the gun on me and told me to drive. So I drove.

Luke: Well, where is this Robby guy right now?

Jade: I don't know. I tried to get away from him as soon as I could.

Luke: Jade, why didn't you go to the police?

Jade: It looked like I was in on it. Okay, I ran. I didn't know what else to do.

Luke: Wow. I'm glad you came here.

Jade: Really?

Luke: Yeah. I mean, hey, I love you.

Jade: I love you, too.

Luke: And I want to help.

Jade: Thank God for you, Luke. You know, I knew I could count on you. So if you could just give me money, I could find some cheap hotel --

Luke: Uh-huh, uh-huh -- no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not giving you money. But I will go with you to the police and they'll fix this.

Jade: No way! I'm not going to jail.

Luke: But Jade, you're innocent. You go turn yourself in, you get a good lawyer --

Jade: But I can't even afford a bus ticket. How am I going to afford a lawyer?

Luke: You know my mom and dad will help you with that.

Jade: I'm not going to Lily and Holden.

Luke: Why not?

Jade: Look, your mom thinks I left to make something of myself. And now the first time she sees me, I'm running from the cops? I've disappointed her too many times already.

Luke: Yeah, but Jade, this is totally different. You're innocent.

Jade: Yeah, but with all the stunts I've pulled, who's going to believe that expect you?

Luke: Jade --

Jade: Yeah, it was great to see you. Merry Christmas.

Luke: Look Jade, please don't go.

Jade: I'm not going to jail for something I didn't do.

Luke: Okay, so would you rather what -- you'd rather run your entire life? What if they come after you? What if they're armed?

Jade: I'd rather be dead than go to prison. You're not going to change my mind.

Luke: Okay, okay, Jade, Jade, Jade, Jade. All right. I will get you the money, okay? It might take a little time. But in the meantime, why don't -- why don't you go up to my room. You can use my shower. You can borrow some clothes.

Jade: Like old times?

Luke: Yeah.

Jade: Thank you so much, Luke. Thank you. I'm never going to forget this.

Bonnie: You heading home?

Lily: Yeah. I'll let Holden and Luke know what's going on, just in case she contacts them.

[Cell phone rings]

Lily: Hey, Luke, we were just talking about you.

Luke: Mom, Jade's here and she's in trouble.

Lily: Is she all right? Is she hurt?

Luke: No, she's fine. She's just scared. She's in trouble and wants to go into hiding. And I know it's the wrong thing for her to do, but I don't know how to get her to stop.

Lily: Stall her. Don't let her leave. Keep her there as long as you can.

EMT #1: The prescription was just refilled today. This guy must have taken the full bottle. You're lucky to be alive, dude.

EMT #2: Well, he won't be, if we keep him here any longer. Come on, let's go.

EMT #1: Yeah.

Dusty: That was strong one.

Meg: Can you -- can you go check on Paul? Make sure they've brought him in.

Dusty: I don't want to leave you --

Dr. Schiller: I hear we're having a baby. How are you doing, Meg?

Meg: Yeah, well, I just hope Eliza took your advice and just waited a little while longer, that's all.

Dusty: How are you doing, Doc?

Dr. Schiller: Dusty Donovan. Good to see the news of your death was exaggerated.

Dusty: I'm happy to see you too. I thought you forgot about us in here.

Dr. Schiller: No, busy night tonight.

Meg: You two know each other?

Dr. Schiller: Yeah, he -- his wife was a patient of mine and we served together on Jenniferís foundation. When did the contractions start?

Meg: Oh, maybe -- maybe a couple of hours ago.

Dr. Schiller: This has progressed quite quickly. Did you do anything to over-exert yourself? Did you do anything unusual?

[Meg screams]

Dr. Schiller: All right, all right, deep breaths. Deep breaths. That's it, Meg. We're ready to deliver.

Meg: What? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not ready yet. You have to give me something to stop the contractions.

Dr. Schiller: Meg, you know as well as I do, once your water's broken, we don't have that option, Sweetheart. Listen, you're fully dilated. Eliza's coming whether for her or not. All right, is there anybody you want us to call?

Meg: No --

Dr. Schiller: No. All right, I'll be right back.

Meg: Oh, I shouldn't have done CPR when I was this far along --

Dusty: It's okay. You did what you had to do.

Meg: I should have called the ambulance sooner. You know, I wasn't thinking about --

Dusty: You saved Paul's life. And now you're having his baby.

Meg: A premature baby.

Dusty: That's okay. She'll be here. She'll be yours. The rest you can handle, Meg.

Meg: No, no --

Nurse: Scrubs for daddy.

Dr. Schiller: Okay, Dusty, put the gown if you're staying and get a mask. All right, Meg. Meg, I need you to lie back. I need you to -- real big push.

Meg: Already?

Dr. Schiller: Next contraction --

Meg: No, no, it's time already?

Dusty: Let's breathe. Get ready to breathe.

Meg: No, no, no --

Dr. Schiller: You've got it. Breathe. Support her back, Dusty. Good, good.

Meg: It's okay. It's okay. It passed. It passed.

Dr. Schiller: Okay, here comes another one.

Meg: Contraction passed. Need to push.

Dr. Schiller: Go for it. This could go down in my books as the fastest delivery on record.

Dusty: Short labor. Less to complain about, right? Come on.

Meg: I'll thank Eliza when I see her, okay?

Jade: Thanks for the shower and the shirt.

Luke: Looks great on you. All right, so I packed you some sandwiches. There's an extra change of clothes in there. And I put my cell phone in there in case they're tracking yours.

Jade: But what about the money?

Luke: Oh, you know, I only had 40 bucks.

Jade: That's not even enough for a bus ticket.

Luke: Yeah, I know and that's why I was thinking that we should go to the ATM at the grocery store. So, I was thinking, I'd drive. I'd go out and get the money and then you can take my car.

Jade: You're giving me your car?

Luke: I'm loaning you my car. Because you got a -- you got to do it quick, right?

Jade: Right, yeah. We have to go.

Luke: Yeah --

Jade: What's wrong?

Luke: That's -- my keys. I can't find my keys.

Jade: Well, check your coat.

Luke: No, I just did. It's -- no, no. So I came in, I had the mail -- yeah, maybe they are under these --

Jade: No, there's nothing under here. I mean, where's your extra set?

Luke: Uh, at the farm. So, I'm just going to run over, get them real quick, and I will be right back --

Jade: No, I don't have time for that. I've got to go --

Luke: Jade, Jade, just stay for just a second, okay?

Jade: Why? Lily, I was just here for a visit. Merry Christmas.

Lily: Jade, I know what's going on.

Jade: How could you?

Barbara: He's so pale.

Josie: He's stable.

Barbara: What else did you find out?

Josie: I heard the EMTs giving their report. Paul was in some cabin with an empty pill bottle. Anti-anxiety medication.

Barbara: He was alone? I thought Meg had called Dusty.

Josie: Meg wasn't there and neither was Dusty. He's not answering his phone, so I don't know where they are.

Barbara: He probably took Meg somewhere where it was safe. Where the baby is safe, too. That's what Paul would want. Was he conscious?

Josie: Not since they got him in the ambulance.

Barbara: People who overdose sometimes go into a coma.

Josie: And sometimes they get better.

Barbara: What happens now?

Nurse: We perform a gastric lavage to expel the medication.

Josie: It's a stomach pump. I think that's our cue to leave, Barbara.

Barbara: Is it going to hurt him?

Josie: He's unconscious. It will actually be easier.

Barbara: You listen to me. You are not going to finish what you started here, do you understand that? You're not going to die. I just won't allow it, Paul. You hear me?

Nurse: Mr. Ryan, can you hear me?

[Paul screams]

[Meg screams]

Dusty: That's it, Meg. You're doing great.

Dr. Schiller: Give me another push. Come on, Meg. You've got it.

Meg: I can do this.

Dusty: Okay, here we go.

Meg: I can do this.

Dusty: Here we go --

Dr. Schiller: One more push and you'll see your baby, Meg.

Dusty: That's good. That's great. She's here. She's here.

Meg: How is she?

Dr. Schiller: Ten fingers, ten toes, and gorgeous.

Nurse: Do you want to cut the cord?

Meg: I have no other candidates for now. Can I -- can I look at her? Can I hold her?

Dr. Schiller: Let me just clean her up a bit first, okay?

Meg: Can you just -- can you just lift her up so I could take a look at her?

Dusty: What's going on?

Meg: She's not making any noise. Where are you going with my baby? What's wrong with my baby?

Nurse: We just want to run some tests. Try not to worry.

Dusty: Everything's going to be fine.

Meg: She didn't make a sound.

Luke: So this Robby guy did the crime, and forced Jade to go along with him. So you've got to help her out.

Lily: We will.

Bonnie: See, I've heard a lot from Luke in your defense but I haven't really heard much from you.

Jade: Luke, you shouldn't have called them.

Lily: Jade, we're just trying to help you.

Jade: How? By getting me put in jail for something I didn't do?

Bonnie: Well, I've heard you're the kind of girl to see things from all different angles.

Jade: Yeah. So?

Bonnie: Well, you run, you lose. If you want people to believe that you're innocent, you're going to have to show them that you have nothing to hide.

Jade: I donít. But the thought of staying in jail, even one night, is --

Bonnie: Do you have a criminal record?

Lily: Jade was held briefly on charges, but they were dropped.

Bonnie: What, serious charges?

Jade: Attempted murder.

Bonnie: You didn't think to mention this to me?

Jade: Well, the charges were dropped. I don't even think it's still on my --

Bonnie: Okay, fine, fine. I will check on that. But look, if the police see that you were trying to cooperate in Robbyís arrest, they might cut you some slack.

Luke: And then she doesn't even necessarily have to spend a night in jail. You know, we can bail her out, right?

Bonnie: I'll see what I can do.

Lily: Should we go with you now?

Bonnie: No. I will go first and clear things with the Oakdale P.D. but you will be right behind me, right?

Jade: Yeah, I guess I have no choice.

Bonnie: Smart girl.

Lily: Thanks, Bonnie.

Bonnie: Just make sure she shows up.

Lily: I will.

Luke: You still angry at me?

Jade: You tricked me, Luke.

Luke: Yeah, but you would have ran away if I hadnít. Fine, you know what, Jade? Be as mad as you want to be. I just didn't want you to end up dead.

Lily: Jade. There's something we didn't get a chance to do yet.

Jade: Thank you so much, Lily.

Lily: I'm just so happy that you came back. If you had disappeared before we had a chance to see you, it would have broken my heart.

Jade: I just wanted to be rich and famous when I saw you. You know, somebody you can be proud of.

Lily: I am already proud of you. I love you. And so does Luke. So ease up on him, okay? I'm going to go call Holden and tell him what's going on. And then we should go.

Luke: Look, I really hated lying to you.

Jade: Yeah, you were always such a goody-goody.

Luke: Oh, yeah, well, I think that's pretty much gone by now.

Jade: What do you mean?

Luke: I got kicked out of school.

Jade: For what?

Luke: I was running for student government president, and I rigged the election. I know, I know. You know what? It really wasn't very funny at the time.

Jade: Well, too bad you didn't have me there to do all your dirty work. You wouldn't have gotten caught.

Luke: Ah! That's where I went wrong. But look, me and family, we're going to do everything we can to make sure that this is okay.

Jade: Promise?

Luke: I promise.

Lily: It's time.

Josie: What did the doctor say?

Barbara: They think they got all the meds out of his system. He's not comatose.

Josie: So he'll be okay?

Barbara: He has one more test to pass.

Josie: Who's that?

Barbara: That's a psychiatrist. And I think I've got to get out of here for awhile and take a walk.

Josie: Do you want company?

Barbara: Maybe later.

Dr. Combs: Mr. Ryan, do you know what happened to you?

Paul: Yeah. I took pills. I took a lot of pills.

Dr. Combs: Were you trying to hurt yourself?

Paul: No. It was my father, he made me do it.

Dr. Combs: Well, it says here, your father is deceased.

Paul: James Stenbeck never dies.

[Laughing]

Dusty: They took the baby to neonatal ICU. That's all I could find out.

Meg: She didn't even cry.

Dusty: Some babies donít.

Meg: Yeah, that happens when they're premature. There's usually a problem with their lungs.

Dusty: If that's what's going on, then it's lucky we're here at the hospital where they can deal with this right away.

Meg: Or it could have been her heart. And if was her heart --

Dusty: You've got to stop -- you're going worst-case scenario right now. You've got to stop. You have to stop that.

Meg: If everything was all right, they would have been here by now. They would have told me something.

Dusty: Dr. Schiller is going to bring us up to speed any minute now. It's okay.

Meg: I was going to take her away from Paul.

Dusty: What?

Meg: I thought that my baby's father didn't have a right to be anywhere near her. I didn't want her to hurt her or use her or lie to her --

Dusty: I hear you.

Meg: But I'm the one that put her life in danger. I did that.

Dusty: I'm going to find Dr. Schiller, okay?

Meg: Yeah, but you already tried.

Dusty: Well, this time I'm going to figure out what's going on.

Josie: What's going on with Meg?

Dusty: She had her baby.

Josie: That's great. Barbara could use some good news.

Dusty: Well, don't say anything yet. There might be complications. How's Paul?

Josie: He's alive. What's happening with the baby?

Dusty: You're working with Dr. Schiller, right?

Resident: Yeah.

Dusty: The baby Schiller just delivered, we don't know how she's doing?

Resident: Mrs. Ryan's baby. Who are you again?

Dusty: I'm her husband.

Resident: Come with me.

Paul: I want to talk to my father? James Stenbeck is my father. Where is he?

Barbara: What's going on?

Paul: Where is he?

Barbara: How is he? Doctor, what's happening? Is he all right?

Dr. Combs: Your son seems to be delusional. We're starting him on anti-psychotic drugs.

Barbara: Is that absolutely necessary?

Paul: Mom, there you are. I'm so glad you're here.

Barbara: Honey, Honey, you've got to get back in bed.

Paul: No, where's Dad? Where is he?

Barbara: Honey --

Paul: Where is he?

Barbara: Your father --

Paul: James!

Barbara: No, no --

Paul: He's here, right?

Barbara: Paul --

Paul: He's here -- he's alive -- where are you? I get off of me. Where are you, James! James!

Bonnie: Jade, I am so sorry. I did everything that I could.

Cop: Are you Jade Taylor?

Jade: Yeah, I am. What's going on?

Cop: We're placing you under arrest for armed robbery.

Jade: What are you doing?

Bonnie: Can you just wait a minute? My client isn't going anywhere. I just need to explain --

Cop: My orders are to process her as quickly as possible. You can speak to her later.

Jade: You said this wouldn't happen. You promised.

Bonnie: Well, it turns out that this guy that Jade hooked up with, Robby Sanchez. He's a career criminal. A repeat offender.

Luke: Yeah, but Jade's not. So why are they treating her like she --

Bonnie: Look, they can't find the guy. So they arrested Jade, hoping that she can lead them to Robby.

Lily: When can she make bail?

Bonnie: That's the thing. Um, they're extraditing her back to Miami. So, if there's going to be bail, it will be set there.

Luke: Well, we have to go down there, then.

Bonnie: Well, she left Florida without turning herself in.

Lily: So they view her as a flight risk. She probably won't get bail.

Luke: Well, there has to be some way we can stop her from getting lost in the system.

Bonnie: You know what, they're shipping her back to Miami within 24 hours. There's nothing that we can do from here, but I'll -- I will try to talk to my contacts in Florida.

Lily: Thanks, Bonnie. Thank you for trying.

Luke: I was trying to help her.

Lily: You did, Sweetie. If this Robby guy is as dangerous as the police say he is, Jade is safer in jail where he can't get to her.

Luke: But if I had just helped her run ---

Lily: Well, then you'd be in the jail cell next to hers.

Luke: Even when I'm trying to do the right thing, I seem to screw it up.

Paul: It wasn't my fault. It wasn't my fault. It was James. I didn't mean to kill myself.

Barbara: Honey, your father is dead.

Paul: Yeah. He comes to me. I see him every day. He pushes me. He said I wouldn't be able to do it. You know, take the pills, but I did it. I did what he told me to do.

Barbara: Honey, your father is dead. He's only in your head.

Paul: No, he's real. And he said I would never be able to get Meg back unless I took the drugs. Meg's okay, right? She's all right?

Barbara: She's fine. I don't know where she is right now, but she's fine.

Paul: She came to me -- she came to me. She said she was going to save me.

Josie: Is the doctor still examining him?

Barbara: Oh, yeah, he's finished.

Josie: Why don't I go get you some tea and that way, you can sit with him --

Barbara: Thank you very much, but I --

Josie: What? What's wrong?

Barbara: I -- I need to find Bob Hughes and make some arrangements.

Josie: What arrangements?

Barbara: To have Paul committed.

Josie: Committed?

Barbara: Telling him to do things. I'm afraid that it might happen again and he'll hurt himself or someone else. So Bob told me that we can forcibly admit him for 72 hours, which gives us enough time to figure out what else to do, make other arrangements. My poor son.

Josie: Barbara's talking about having him committed.

Dusty: I'm not surprised.

Josie: She's devastated. And what I can I say to her? Nothing.

Dusty: Did you say anything about the baby?

Josie: No, I didnít. Because you told me not to.

Dusty: Thank you for taking care of Barbara.

Josie: I'm happy to, but what about the baby?

Dusty: I'll see you later.

Meg: Hey, did you check on Paul?

Dusty: He's okay. He's going to make it. But I've got even better news.

Meg: Oh, my beautiful baby. Ooh, is she okay?

Dusty: She's perfect.

Meg: Hi. Hi. What happened?

Dusty: Respiratory distress because she's premature.

Meg: But she's okay now, right?

[Nurse brings Megís baby in room]

Meg: Youíre beautiful.

Dusty: Just like her mom.

Meg: Hi. Hi.

Paul: Am I dead?

Josie: No. You're going to be okay. Do you remember what happened?

Paul: I'm alive. And you're alive. I thought I'd never see you again.

Paul: I thought you were gone forever, Jennifer. Thank God that wasn't true.

On the next "As the World Turns"

Lily: How'd it go?

Jade: I don't know. Ask them.

Dusty: Whatever you do, don't tell Paul that Meg had her baby.

Meg: It's okay -- I can hold her a few more minutes.

Paul: Can I hold her?
