Margo: Yes, yes, Sir, I understand your concerns, but we still have no leads on who stole Spencer McKay’s body --
Brad: Margo, we've got to talk to you!
Margo: Even though my brother-in-law is a suspect, I -- Commissioner, please, I hope you understand that after all these years I've proven that I can be unbiased in these affairs even if it's a member of my own family, I do my job.
Katie: Shh. Give her a minute.
Margo: Yes, yes, of course, I will cooperate with internal affair -- yes, yes, Sir. Good-bye. Yes. What is it?
Brad: We found Spencer.
Margo: You found her body?
Brad: Yeah, and she was walking around in it.
Dani: Too early for a drink?
Henry: Rough morning?
Dani: Late night actually. I haven't been to sleep yet. And I could really use a nice glass of wine.
Henry: By nice you mean?
Henry: Do you have any preferences?
Dani: I prefer to be surprised.
Henry: And so you shall be. Very pleasantly surprised.
Henry: Surprise! If you're looking for Spencer McKay’s dead body, you won't find it underneath my bar.
Brad: I was waiting for Katie in the car.
Margo: Wait a minute. Where were you?
Katie: In Chicago.
Brad: Okay, suddenly, I looked up, and there's Spencer! Right there, in the flesh, crossing the street!
Margo: Well, what did you do?
Brad: Well, I was shocked. I mean, I was the one that found her body -- dead. And to see her like that, right in front of me -- I mean, it took me a second to catch my breath. I got out of the car, I yelled her name.
Margo: And did she reply?
Brad: Yes, she turned around, she saw me, and then she took off like a bat out of hell.
Margo: And did you chase after her?
Brad: Well, yeah, but she had a major head start. I couldn't catch her.
Katie: But we got a picture of the block where he saw her.
Brad: Oh, right, right, right, right, right. Okay, um -- right, right there. Okay, you see, you see there are like tons of businesses around there. I mean, they got to have, um, cameras, you know, security cameras. You go there, you do that thing where you take stuff into evidence.
Margo: Confiscate it?
Brad: Right. Yes, and then you could have all the proof you need.
Margo: In a city that I have no jurisdiction, looking for a body that the medical examiner has already pronounced dead.
Katie: But Margo --
Margo: Katie. I love you because you're my sister. But if you and your husband don't get out of here right now I'm going to arrest you for annoying me.
Brad: Margo --
Josie: Oh! You were working out. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to -- hello.
Dusty: What do you need?
Josie: What? You're always accusing me of never saying hello. So now I'm saying it. Hello, Mr. Donovan. You're blushing.
Dusty: Yeah, I'm hot.
Josie: I'll say.
Dusty: I'm working out. I was.
Josie: Can I use your computer? I woke up with this brainstorm.
Dusty: Did you remember something?
Josie: I'm sick of sitting around waiting for things to come back to me in pieces. So, I'm going to speed things along and look myself up on the web.
Dusty: You didn't think of that already?
Josie: I did. But there are about a million Josie Drivers out there. A few of them are even exotic dancers. Not me. Anyway, I got discouraged. But not this time. If I have a family, if I have a criminal record, if I have a chateau in France, I want to know about it.
Dusty: You don't need to do that, really.
Josie: You kissed me, Donovan. And I'd kind of like for you to do it again someday. But if I don't even know if I'm married or --
Dusty: There's no record on you.
Dusty: No marriage license, no driver's license, no high school yearbook, no past addresses, nothing.
Paul: Okay, let's get something straight, all right? I don't take orders from you. I came all the way down here to tell you that, you're not even here. I'm not sure where you are, but call me.
Paul: Hi. Are you on your way out of town?
Emily: Uh, I just got back, supposedly. From New York.
Paul: Oh, and what were you supposedly doing on your supposed trip?
Emily: Attending a business conference.
Paul: Okay, look, next time you summon me, don't keep me waiting. Better yet, don't summon me anymore.
Emily: I've got a proposition for you.
Paul: Two seconds.
Emily: Two words. Josie Driver. I've got a plan to get rid of her.
Paul: Great, let me know how that turns out. I'll be home with my wife. That is if she hasn't figured out that I lied to her to come here --
Emily: Oh please. It's not like it's the first time you've ever lied.
Paul: Yeah, well, I'm trying to change.
Emily: Well, change later. Right now, I need the old Paul Ryan. The situation with Josie is getting more serious.
Paul: Yeah, because Dusty likes her more than he likes you. You should be telling this to your diary, not me. Leave me out of it.
Emily: You don't want her around any more than I do.
Paul: Yeah, but she's not going anywhere unless Dusty throws her out and that's not going to happen.
Emily: Maybe it might. If he finds out that she's a gold digger.
Paul: You have proof of that?
Emily: I will. As soon as you offer her a million bucks to leave town.
Josie: It makes sense that you would have run a background check on me. I'm glad that you did. But you could have told me.
Dusty: I just found out.
Dusty: A couple of days ago.
Josie: Before or after the kiss?
Josie: So you were feeling sorry for me? Poor little girl who --
Dusty: I don't feel sorry for you. I got to take a shower. Wait here for me.
Josie: No, I'm going to go.
Dusty: No, no, don't go anywhere. I mean it.
Josie: Fine. But while I'm waiting, can I at least look at the report you got from the private investigator or whoever?
Dusty: There's no report. Emily checked you out.
Josie: Emily? Your friend from the lobby the other day?
Dusty: Yeah, she runs a paper, so, she's got a lot of sources.
Josie: And she's suspicious of my supposed connection to Jennifer. Of course she is. Why wouldn't she be? Everyone else in this town is. Go. Get ready. I'm not going to go anywhere. I'm going to hide in here forever.
Dusty: Well, don't get so down about it.
Josie: I can't help it. Everybody who loved Jennifer thinks that I am poison. And everybody loved Jennifer.
Dusty: If it makes you feel better, Emily didn't check you out because of your connection to Jennifer.
Josie: Why then?
Dusty: She did it because of your connection to me.
Paul: Why would I waste a million dollars trying to protect Dusty from Josie?
Emily: Paul, all you have to do is offer the million dollars, not give it to her.
Paul: Right, and make sure that Dusty finds out about it.
Emily: You get Josie to meet with you in a public place. And you tell her you will give her anything she wants if she leaves town, because it is far too upsetting for your mother to have her here. And I will make sure Dusty is within earshot of all it.
Paul: Right, so Dusty can find out who Josie truly is and then you'll have him all to yourself.
Emily: That's what I'm hoping. So what do you say?
Paul: I say, count me out. I'm not jumping through any more of your stupid little hoops just so you can get Dusty back.
Emily: This plan will benefit you, too.
Paul: Really? How?
Emily: Yeah? Where is she?
Paul: Okay, I'll see you later.
Emily: Wait -- how long has she been in Dusty’s suite? Okay, just keep me posted.
Paul: You're having her followed?
Emily: Okay, this plan won't work unless Dusty and Josie are in the same place. Okay, are you in or are you out? We need to move on this forward on this before --
Paul: Before what? Before he sleeps with her?
Emily: Before he falls in love with her.
Paul: Oh, come one. Even if Josie is out of the picture, it doesn't mean that he's going to want you again.
Emily: He will. He'll want me back.
Paul: Okay, let me know how that works out for you.
Emily: You've got a stake in this, too.
Paul: Really? Why, because Dusty’s making a fool of himself?
Emily: Because he's taking your mother along for the ride. Your mother trusts this Josie. And the next thing you know she's going to be riding out of town with Dusty and Barbara’s money. Come on, I'm just asking you to have one conversation.
Paul: How do we even know she's going to take the bait?
Emily: She'll take the bait. She's a fake and fakes are greedy. There's only one reason she's pretending to be the personification of Dusty’s dead wife.
Paul: So that she can be Dusty’s new wife.
Emily: So, that she can have half of everything Dusty owns.
Paul: You know, it would be kind of nice to see the look on Dusty’s face when he realizes how badly he's misjudged this girl.
Emily: And everyone will know you were right all along. Including Meg.
Josie: You're involved with Emily? Why didn't you say something?
Dusty: Because we're not together anymore. It didn't work out.
Josie: Who broke it off? You or her?
Dusty: I wasn't in love with her. Trying to get back what I had with my wife.
Josie: That hurts. Falling for a guy when you know his heart is somewhere else.
Dusty: She recovered.
Josie: Do you think you'll ever recover?
Dusty: My wife wanted me to keep moving, you know, without her. Just keep moving on. Maybe that's what you're here for. To help me do that.
Josie: You know, I wish I did have a direct line to Jennifer. There are some things I would like to ask her.
Dusty: What would you ask her?
Josie: Well, to show me where your son is, for one. So that you could finally find him. And I'd ask her how she did it.
Dusty: Did what?
Josie: How she made everybody worship the ground that she walked on? Her mom, her brother, you --
Dusty: I'm sure that there are a lot of people out there who love you, too. How could they not?
Josie: Then why aren't they looking for me? How did I manage to live a life so empty that there is no trace of me left anywhere?
Emily: Why can't you do this?
Paul: Because, Emily, now is not a good time for me to rock the boat, okay? Meg is finally back in my life. I've got a shot at a family. I've got a shot at lasting happiness. I'm not going to jeopardize that for one of your stupid schemes.
Emily: So you're going to let her run around pretending to be your Jennifer’s ghost? No matter what it does to your mother?
Paul: I think my mother can take care of herself.
Emily: Really? She's already working her. Did you know your mother hired her to work part-time for the company? Did you know that?
Paul: Yes, I knew that. You know, if we're going to do this, we're going to do it today. Where are Dusty and Josie right now?
Emily: I'll find out.
Brad: Is she going to talk to us?
Brad: Is she going to listen this time? I mean, really listen?
Katie: Brad, my sister is a cop. This is a big jump for her. Let's just not push it right now, okay?
Brad: Spencer is alive. You want me to ignore that?
Katie: I just keep thinking about those instant messages. If that's the person who stole the evidence --
Brad: Spencer is probably the one who sent those messages. She's also probably the one who stole the evidence after she set me up.
Katie: Whoever it was, they're going to want to make good on the threat to call in a favor. And whatever this favor is, I would like to know.
Brad: Will you listen to -- don't even worry about that right now.
Katie: We should tell Margo.
Brad: No, no, no. She'll probably have us arrested for obstruction of justice or something. Okay? We keep the messages, and keep it quiet and get Margo to find Spencer. And then everything will be okay. Okay, okay?
Margo: Brad, listen. You need to drop this. You are the prime suspect in Spencer McKay’s murder. Anything you say now can still be used against you.
Brad: I know my rights, okay? And while we're standing here gabbing, Spencer could be headed somewhere where we'll never find her.
Katie: Maybe we should call Tom, should he be in on this?
Brad: Look, I don't need a lawyer! I need the police to see that Spencer is alive.
Margo: All right, fine, then let's start at the very beginning. Shall we? So, why were you in Chicago? Oh, please, the questions only get harder from here.
Brad: Because of what happened with Spencer, we both got fired from WOAK.
Katie: So we were looking a new job. We met with one of the stations in Chicago for an interview.
Margo: And how did that go for you?
Katie: They didn't have anything available.
Margo: Looks like Spencer’s more trouble to you dead than alive, huh?
Brad: Yeah, maybe. But what does that have to do with anything?
Margo: I means, Brad, that sometimes when people are depressed, they think that they've seen something, or they think --
Brad: You think I saw Spencer because I'm depressed? I saw her because she was there.
Margo: You could not have seen her. It must have been someone that looked like her, Brad.
Brad: It was her.
Katie: Don't get upset.
Brad: It was her!
Margo: Listen, the medical examiner is very good at determining the difference between dead body and a live body. And a live body soon becomes dead body once it's been placed in a refrigerator awaiting autopsy.
Katie: Margo, I know it's --
Margo: And a live body complains bitterly at having incisions made and it's blood drained --
Brad: Well, maybe Spencer bribed the medical examiner. It's not like that hasn't happened before.
Margo: Katie, did you see her?
Katie: I was in the deli. But I saw Brad's face when he came back to the car. He was shocked.
Margo: So you never actually saw Spencer?
Katie: Not exactly.
Brad: But you believe me. I mean, you know I saw her.
Dani: Just let go of me, okay? I happen to be an officer of the law.
Henry: Okay, Officer, do you have a search warrant?
Dani: I wasn't searching for anything.
Henry: You were behind my bar.
Dani: I dropped something back there. I was looking for it.
Henry: Yeah, well, what did you drop?
Dani: I dropped my --
Henry: Don't even bother, okay? You're a horrible investigator.
Dani: No, I'm not.
Henry: Yes, you are. You were looking for Spencer McKay’s dead body. Do you think I would hide it behind my bar? Don't you think my employees would notice when they kept tripping over it?
Dani: I didn't think I was going to find a body back there.
Henry: Then what were you looking for?
Dani: A name, or a number, or some sort of contact that would lead me to the body. You just totally tricked me into telling you that.
Henry: You know what, kiddo, you need to get more savvy about what you say and who you say it to, or you're going to get yourself killed.
Dani: Oh, is that a threat?
Henry: It's advice. Get out of my bar.
Dani: Look, what would you ask you if you were me?
Henry: Did you read my statement to the police?
Dani: Yes, you said you didn't do it.
Henry: You see how easy that was?
Dani: Yes, but whoever took the body was obviously trying to get Brad off the hook and you have proven on numerous occasions that you are not above bending the law in order to help out a friend.
Henry: Not this time. Come on.
Dani: Look, please, okay, I need to find the body.
Henry: I'm sure you're not the only cop on the Oakdale PD.
Dani: No, I'm not. But you know what? I was left in charge of an open and shut case and poof, it's gone. So unless I fix this right now, my career is over before it even started. Henry, please, if you know anything, please, please, please, I am begging you to tell me.
Henry: You are begging me to incriminate myself? That technique might work on some people.
Dani: But not on you.
Henry: Not on me. Hey, Dani, here's another piece of advice, okay? Stop wasting your time investigating me. I really didn't do it.
Brad: You don't believe me either?
Katie: I believe that you believe you saw Spencer.
Brad: That's not the same thing.
Katie: Are you positive that you didn't just see someone that looked like her?
Brad: I worked with her on TV for weeks. I saw her with makeup, without makeup, and in high definition. Okay, it was Spencer.
Margo: Brad, it could not have been her. You need to know that.
Brad: Margo, I am not imagining this. And I'm going to prove it. To both of you.
Brad: I'm going to find Spencer and I'm going to bring her back here.
(Knock at door)
Brad: Ummm... come in!
Katie: I know this has caused you a lot of problems and I'm so sorry. I've got to go find Brad.
Margo: You know, wait, no, no, -- let him -- let him go cool down. You come hang with me. Have a cup of coffee, okay?
Katie: Coffee, no. I don't know what to do. My husband thinks I'm calling him a liar, but I'm not. I just -- I don't know what to think.
Margo: Listen, I don't blame you for wanting to support your husband. But you know that Brad could not have seen that woman. I mean, that was not Spencer.
Katie: He was so sure though, Margo.
Margo: I know, but, Honey, look at all the things that woman did to him. She charged him with sexual harassment, cost him his job --
Katie: Well, that wasn't true. Brad never came onto her.
Margo: Well, I'm sure in his mind he felt that he was falsely accused.
Katie: In his mind? He was falsely accused! And then he was falsely accused of killing her.
Margo: All right, if that is the case, then there will be evidence to exonerate him.
Katie: You really think so?
Margo: Yes, but I can't prove anything without that evidence. And you've got to tell Brad that he's only making things worse by setting up this ridiculous smokescreen. You've got to tell Brad he's got to bring back the body and he's got to bring back the evidence.
Katie: What? Brad, no, Brad didn't steal the evidence.
Margo: Well, then, who did?
Katie: I don't know.
Margo: Oh, Katie, you certainly know something. I can see it. I mean, you do want to save Brad, don't you?
Katie: Of course I do. I love him so much.
Margo: Then you've got to trust me, baby. Let me help Brad. Just tell me what you know.
Brad: I need you to help me find Spencer.
Henry: Brad, I love you like a brother, but if one more person accuses me of stealing that body --
Brad: I know you didn't take the body.
Henry: Then why are you asking --
Brad: Because there is no body.
Henry: There's no body?
Brad: I saw her. I saw Spencer walking down the street in Chicago. I saw her. Tell me you believe me.
Henry: Yeah, yeah, sure I do. You know, I keep these for very stressful times. And I think you could use one.
Brad: Why does everyone keep acting like I'm crazy? I'm not crazy!
Henry: You're not crazy -- of course you're not crazy. You're just very stressed out and you're hallucinating. Do you want me to get you a beer?
Brad: No, I need someone to believe me.
Henry: Okay, uh, okay, let's say for the sake of argument that Spencer is alive. Why are you here?
Brad: Because the cops won't help me find her. And I know that you can.
Henry: I can?
Brad: You know people in Chicago --
Brad: Wise guys.
Henry: Yeah, I'm not saying I do, but what if I did?
Brad: Because somebody pretending to be dead would need things, you know, illegal things like, um, fake id.
Henry: And we do know that Spencer is walking around with a lot of money. A suitcase full, in fact.
Brad: Yeah, see, now you're talking. Keep going.
Henry: We -- we follow the money. We see if anyone's been throwing around a lot of bills in Chicago. I guess I could make some calls.
Brad: Yeah, come on, come on, man. Make some calls. Please, bud, please --
Henry: No, Brad, these are very scary people, okay? They do a favor for you, they're going to call up a favor on their end. You know what I'm saying?
Brad: Yeah. Yeah, what kind of favor? That's what I want to know.
Henry: Don't worry about it. I can do this.
Dusty: We're not going to stop trying to figure out who you are.
Josie: How? If I can't remember anything then --
Dusty: You do remember. I mean, on some level, you do.
Josie: You want me to be hypnotized.
Dusty: It's worth a try.
Josie: I don't know. It creeps me out. Going under, saying things I don't know that I'm saying.
Dusty: Well, we could do it at the hospital, where it's totally confidential.
Josie: Would you be there?
Dusty: If you want me to be.
Josie: Yeah, I want you to be.
[Cell phone rings]
Dusty: Emily, how's New York?
Emily: Yeah, it was great. I'm back and ready to debrief.
Dusty: I'm in the middle of something right now. Let's reschedule for tomorrow.
Emily: Dusty, the whole point of me going to this conference was to get a jump on the competition. The faster we get these systems in place, the better off we are.
Dusty: Maybe this afternoon. Hold on a sec.
Josie: Take care of your business, Dusty. I'll see you later.
Dusty: Are you sure you're okay?
Josie: Yeah, I'll be fine. See you.
Paul: Josie, right? I was hoping we could have a word.
Emily: We need to find a way to open up our markets to that demographic, not just through social networking. We need to start micro blogging. No, I -- hang on. Actually, um, Dusty, it would be a lot easier if we had this discussion in person.
Dusty: The lounge in 15 minutes?
Emily: Actually, now works for me.
Dusty: Be right down.
Josie: I know that you don't like me. What could we possibly have to talk about?
Paul: Look, everyone in town, except for Dusty, apparently knows that's what you're after.
Josie: Do you always make rude assumptions about people that you don't know?
Paul: Trading in on some superficial resemblance after my sister, trying to impress Dusty enough so he can part with his big bucks.
Josie: That's not what's going on.
Paul: The man may be in mourning for his wife is not stupid. Sooner or later he's going to figure out your scam. I'm offering you a way out of that.
Josie: You're unbelievable.
Paul: I'll give you one million dollars to pack up and leave town right now. Oh, that got your attention.
Josie: And I hope this will get yours.
Dusty: What did you say to her?
Josie: I'm fine. You don't have to hit him.
Dusty: What did he say?
Josie: Can we just get out of here, please?
Paul: Okay, you can play the fool if you want to, but I am not letting her hurt my mother.
Dusty: She's not hurting anyone.
Paul: She's pretending to be my dead sister.
Josie: I'm not pretending to be anybody. Why can't you just leave me alone?
Emily: Okay, maybe we should go -- we should just leave.
Josie: It's the two of you. You're in this together.
Katie: I don't know who stole the evidence.
Katie: I don’t.
Margo: What are we going to do about Brad? You know as well as I do that he didn't see this dead woman running around Chicago.
Katie: We'll be fine. We're going to be okay.
Margo: What are you so nervous about if you think that Brad isn't the one who did the murder.
Katie: He's not.
Margo: Well, then what is it?
Katie: Can I go now?
Margo: Sure. Katie, I'm on your side. But I can't help you if you don't talk to me.
Katie: I know. Thank you.
Dani: What was that about?
Margo: Oh, it doesn't matter now. It's not going to make any difference in the case.
Brad: What'd they say?
Henry: I've put the word out. Brad, you do realize that not even a big-city mobster can find a ghost.
Brad: I thought you said you believed me.
Henry: No, I'm being honest with you. And I need you to be honest with me. Are you sure it was Spencer?
Brad: Yes -- I saw her, I get out of the car, I yelled her name. She turned. She saw me. I saw the look on her face. She was shocked, so shocked and scared. And that is when I knew, that is when I knew that it was Spencer.
Henry: All right. Maybe -- maybe she'll get in touch with you.
Brad: Why? She tried to make it look like I murdered her.
Henry: No, she tried to make it look like she was dead. Maybe there wasn't --
Brad: Henry, Henry -- she set up a meeting and then purposely didn't show up. And she knew I would come looking for her and when I did -- surprise! Dead body.
Henry: Yeah, all right, you got a point. You got a point.
Brad: Why is she doing this to me? How does messing up my life help her?
Henry: Well, she was trying to break up you and Katie. Maybe she's still trying.
Brad: I got to go.
Henry: What? What did I say?
Emily: Dusty, your friend seems very upset. Maybe you should take her upstairs.
Dusty: Paul offered you money?
Josie: Yeah, a million dollars to get out of town.
Paul: To keep her away from my mother. And by the way, she's only pretending to be outraged. She saw you there -- the whole slap and tickle show was just for your benefit.
Josie: That's not true. I didn’t.
Dusty: What did you mean when you said Paul and Emily are in this together?
Emily: Oh, please, that's absurd.
Dusty: What did you mean?
Josie: I don't know.
Paul: Why would you listen to her anyway? She's just after your money, Dusty. She's using Jennifer’s memory to try and get it.
Emily: This is ridiculous. We're supposed to have business -- we'll talk later. Just --
Dusty: Not yet. Why are Paul and Emily in this together?
Josie: I don't know. It's just a feeling that I had.
Paul: See, she's just stalling. You know why? Because you're nothing but a fraud. My sister was a lovely, beautiful human being. And you are nothing but a greedy, lying --
Josie: And who are you? You kept a mother from her child. You let her think that she lost him, both of you -- how could you do that to her? You're both horrible people.
Dusty: Why'd you say that?
Emily: What have you told her?
Dusty: Nothing. How did you know about that? Emily and Paul kept my wife away from her baby. How did you know that?
Josie: I don't know. I don't know. It just came out. None of this makes any sense.
Paul: You're feeding her information, aren't you, Dusty? Telling her what to say?
Dusty: Why would I do that?
Paul: To get back at me.
Dusty: I don't care about you.
Paul: The very least I thought you cared about my mother.
Dusty: I do.
Paul: I hope she takes you for every penny you have.
Emily: You know what, you want to blow me off, that's one thing. But to have that girl -- to coach her, to throw my past in my face like that, knowing how much I regret what I did.
Dusty: Did you and Paul set this up?
Emily: How could you accuse me of something like that?
Dusty: Did you have him pay her off and then call me down to see it?
Emily: No. No, I am telling you the truth. Yeah, you stand here and you're going to believe a complete stranger?
Dusty: I didn't tell her anything about how you and Paul kept Jennifer away from her baby, so how'd she know about it?
Emily: I don't know, Dusty, maybe she's done some digging of her own. A lot of people knew. You want to accuse someone of playing tricks on you, why don't you start with your new little friend. Because something tells me she's not the innocent you think she is.
Henry: Hey, what is it with you? You're not going to find any dead bodies here, either.
Dani: I was just looking for a burger and fries. I missed lunch.
Henry: Okay. Bon appétit.
Dani: Hey, thanks for your advice earlier. I thought it was really interesting, watching you doing the switch.
Henry: The switch?
Dani: Yeah, you know that bumbling thing that you do. I don't know, maybe part of it's real. But you're really smart. You don't let a lot of people see that, which is also very smart.
Henry: Well, you do the same thing. The "I'm pretty so please underestimate me" thing.
Dani: Don't tell anybody.
Henry: Your secret is safe with me. Uh, let me ask you a question.
Henry: Before Spencer’s body disappeared, you saw it, right?
Dani: Yeah, yeah, I was standing right next to the medical examiner when he was doing the report.
Henry: So, she's really dead?
Henry: There's no way anyone could have seen her alive today?
Dani: Are you doing that bumbling thing again? Because that's a really dumb question.
Henry: Yeah, yeah, I guess it is.
Dani: Why are you asking me that?
Henry: Because Brad thought he saw her today. But I know that's impossible.
Dani: Does Margo know about this because she never -- she never said anything to me about it?
Henry: Well, why would she? It's a non-issue, right?
Henry: Right. Poor Brad. This whole thing is just -- it's driving him over the deep end.
Katie: Where did you go? I was so worried.
Brad: Well, I asked Henry to put in some calls to his contacts in Chicago.
Katie: And did he?
Brad: Well, he doesn't believe that I saw Spencer either. But, yeah, he made the calls. What were you doing?
Katie: I was just looking in some more job markets. You know, we have a bad rep right now, but at least we have one. Thinking that some networks might look at it as a plus that you were accused of murder.
Brad: You might have a better chance of finding a job without me.
Katie: Maybe. But I'm not gonna go anywhere without you. I love you too much.
Brad: I love you, too. I love you so much. Henry said this thing about Spencer trying to split us up. And in some ways, I think that she's still doing that.
Katie: I know. I want to believe you about her. I do so badly --
Brad: You wouldn't lie to me. No, you wouldn't lie to me. I need that. So when you tell me that you love me, I know it's true.
Katie: I love you.
Katie: I love you. Okay, so what now?
Brad: I find Spencer. It's okay that you don't believe me. It's okay. But I feel like I have this tiny window of time before she disappears again. And I can't let that window close on us.
Katie: Why can't we just leave things the way they are?
Brad: Because I've got this murder charge hanging over my head.
Katie: You didn't do it.
Brad: Well, there's no proof that I'm innocent. Do you really want to be married to an accused murderer the rest of your life?
Katie: I don't care about that.
Brad: Look, I do. Now, I thought I couldn't change it, but now that I saw Spencer’s alive, I mean, it makes it a whole new ballgame.
Katie: Okay. I'm going to work with you.
Brad: Yeah, but, you know, if you don't believe me, it makes it --
Katie: If Spencer was a figment of your imagination, then we will get you help and we will deal with it. If she's alive, we'll find her. Whatever it is, we'll do it together.
[Knock on door]
Dusty: Josie, it's me. Open up. Josie, you okay? If you're in there, open the door.
Josie: How'd you know I'd be here?
Dusty: I just had a feeling. How did you know?
Josie: Where Jennifer was buried? I looked it up. She was kind of famous, so the funeral announcement wasn't hard to find. What, did you think I'd say, that I had a premonition? I felt led here by forces I didn't understand?
Dusty: Why did you come here, Josie?
Josie: Because I want to understand. Why do I know more about Jennifer’s life than I know about my own? And what am I even doing in this town? I'm not helping you. I'm upsetting her family. Maybe I should just disappear.
Dusty: Remember what you said earlier about Emily and Paul?
Josie: I don't know. I just looked at them and suddenly I felt so betrayed and angry at both of them. And I didn't know why.
Dusty: Because Paul tried to pay you off.
Josie: Yeah, and I hit him. And it felt really good. And I thought that would be the end of it, but then I looked at her and I just felt sick inside. I knew that they wanted to hurt me somehow.
Dusty: How do you know this?
Josie: I don't know. I keep getting these feelings and I don't know how to stop them.
Dusty: And somehow, in one way or another, all these feelings lead back to Jennifer.
Josie: Do you think I'm scamming you?
Dusty: Yeah, I do. I think that all the time. Every time there's a new coincidence that connects you to Jennifer, I'm wondering how you found these things out.
Josie: Well, if that's what you think, then why am I still here? Why didn't you just let me go?
Dusty: Well, 'cause the rest of the time, I believe you. And I like you. I like you so much, I don't want to think that you're lying to me.
Josie: Well, you're wrong. I am lying to you. I told you that I stayed here because of all these coincidences between Jennifer and me. That our initials are the same, that I can sew, and we like the same poems and songs. But that's only partly true.
Josie: For you, Donovan. I don't know what Jennifer felt when she met you, but what I felt -- I can't walk away from it. From you.
Paul: How did I let you talk me into this? What if Meg finds out?
Emily: Would you relax? I will take the heat.
Paul: This whole stupid plan has done nothing but backfire.
Emily: Yeah, it did.
Paul: Instead of pushing Josie away and getting rid of her, she's more entrenched than ever. Dusty thinks she's got some kind of second sight, and now, all of a sudden, you and I, we're the bad guys.
Emily: How did she do it?
Paul: I don't know.
Emily: How did she know? You had psychic visions?
Paul: Yeah, but mine were real.
Emily: And hers aren't?
Paul: I don't know.
Emily: How could you be so sure?
Paul: I don't care.
Emily: How did she know? How could she know we had planned --?
Paul: I don't want anything to do with this.
Emily: What we did to Jennifer?
Paul: All right. I'm not going to let you pull me in any deeper. Whatever happens with Josie Driver happens. I wash my hands in the whole thing.
Katie: What's that?
Brad: This is so we can write down everything we know about Spencer. People she mentioned, places, everything.
Katie: Figuring she couldn't have done this alone.
Katie: What if we don't find her?
Brad: Well, then we change our names and we move to Brazil.
[Cell phone rings]
Brad: It's Henry. Henry, give me good news. Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie.
Henry: You're not going to believe this, but I might actually have something.
Brad: He's got something.
Katie: Put him on speaker. Henry, hey, so did someone else see Spencer?
Henry: No. But they spotted the thug that brought her that music box.
Brad: Her brother, yeah, I forgot about him.
Henry: Yeah, well, my associates in Chicago are tracking him down. And when they find him, I will let you know.
Brad: Henry, thank you so much. I really mean it.
Henry: Brad, this doesn't mean that Spencer isn't dead.
Katie: But it might give us some answers. It's a start. It's a good start.
Spencer: Hi. Don't yell at me. I couldn't help what happened. Well, how was I supposed to know they were going to be in Chicago? Look, it's no big deal. He only saw me for a second.
Dani: Well, you better make sure that you are never seen again by Brad or anyone that knows him. Or else you might just end up a real dead body next time.
Katie: Okay, so Spencer’s brother is number one on our list. Who else?
Brad: She talked a couple of times about her grandmother. But she's dead.
Katie: Spencer said she was dead. It was probably a lie. Write it down.
[Instant message sounds]
Katie: I keep forgetting that things on.
Brad: It's probably Henry with more information. What's wrong?
Katie: Who is this? Who is this person? Why do they keep doing this?
Brad: "Tell Brad to back off. As long as the body is missing, he's off the hook. Keep asking questions, and it might just reappear."
On the next "As the World Turns"
Lucinda: I'm going to feel a whole lot better once this surgery is done and over with.
Lily: Have you scheduled it yet?
Lucinda: It's today.
Brian: I'm not leaving. I love your mother very much.
Alison: Whoa! What the hell was that?
Jack: Help me end this before it destroys our family for good.
