[Elevator dings]

Brad: Oh, well, I was just headed to your room for a little baby-making before work.

Katie: Maybe later.

Brad: Well, we lost a whole day because of you.

Katie: That's because it was Christmas. And couples do Christmas, and we're not a couple.

Brad: But hello! We're making a baby together. So we need to spend all of our free time in the same bed. Nighttime being prime time.

Katie: Well, you can't stay over! So we'll just have to squeeze in sex whenever we can.

[Brad press emergency alarm sounds]

Katie: What are you doing?

Brad: Having whenever and wherever sex.

Katie: What if someone sees us?

Brad: Trust me.

Carly: Is Jack around?

Margo: You know, he's always pretty busy coming off the holiday, so why don't I take a message, okay?

Carly: No, no, no. I need to talk to him. You'll be glad I did.

Margo: Uh-huh.

Carly: I swear.

Margo: Yeah.

Jack: This should be more than enough to get us a warrant.

Margo: The home invasions?

Jack: Yeah, I'm on it. Yeah?

Carly: Well, firstly, I'd like to thank you for letting me spend time with the kids on Christmas Eve.

Jack: You're welcome.

Carly: You know, J.J. and Sage said they had a really good time at the farm on Christmas.

Jack: Carly, what do you want?

Carly: Well, I have a plan to make Metro a huge success. So, I'm here to help you help me.

Will: I thought you were grabbing some sleep.

Gwen: I'm sorry. I got carried away uploading photos on my computer. This one's staying on my phone though. It's my favorite pic.

Will: She's so beautiful.

Gwen: Yeah, so are you. Do you have enough energy in you to talk about names for a second?

Will: Yeah, I was thinking about that. I was going to grab the book and a list of names that we made before.

Gwen: I thought about one.

Will: Hit me.

Gwen: I mean, if it's okay with you, I thought that we could name her after your dad and your sister. Hallie Jennifer Munson.

Aaron: You okay? Need some pain pills? Some water? Sofie?

[Sofie is holding the knitted cap she made for the baby]

Sofie: I should have left this for her. I don't want my baby to get cold. Oh God, I have to stop calling her that.

Aaron: Hey, it's okay.

Sofie: No, it's not. It's not, she's -- she's not my baby anymore. She's theirs. Gwen and Will's. She's their baby.

Will: Hallie Jennifer Munson. That's a keeper.

Gwen: Yeah?

Will: Yeah.

Gwen: Good. And now that she has a name, we can go ahead, we can do a christening.

Will: We can't do that yet, Gwen.

Gwen: You're right. We have to tell all of our friends first, then we can have a christening.

Will: Gwen -- legally she still belongs to Sofie.

Aaron: You need to get some rest.

Sofie: I'm fine.

Aaron: You just had a c-section. That's surgery. I'm gonna get your pills, okay?

Sofie: I don't want them.

Aaron: Sofie, why suffer if you don't have to?

Sofie: I miss having my baby with me. Inside me. And the pain -- that's all I have left of her. That and this.

Aaron: You want her back.

[Elevator dings]

Henry: Whoa! Have you no shame?

Katie: Henry!

Henry: Have you no decency? Have you no coats?

Carly: I would like to promote opening night at Metro as a benefit for the policeman's holiday fund. You're still the president of the fund, right?

Jack: Yes.

Carly: And you guys are always looking for ways to make money. And you'll get a whole lot more doing this than with a car wash or a bake sale.

Jack: Yes, and you will get yourself right back into my life. We'd have to work together, Carly. And I'd have to be at Metro on New Year’s Eve.

Carly: I'm offering you a gift.

Jack: Yeah? No. No, thank you.

Carly: I'm just trying to do something nice for you and this police department.

Jack: What's in it for you, Carly?

Carly: I don't know, Jack, you're the detective. Why don't you tell me?

Jack: What, you're trying to get on my good side, so you spend more time the kids or what?

Carly: This has nothing to do with the kids. Never mind.

Jack: Instead of trying to work me, why don't you just tell me what you're after? You having trouble with getting a health permit? The building inspector, what?

Carly: I'm not asking you for any special favors, Jack.

Jack: There's always an angle with you.

Carly: That fund does good work, and I -- Hal was Parker's father. He was my friend. Your best friend. He died in the line of duty, if I can -- forget it. I'll give my money to the firemen.

Jack: What?

Margo: A whole lot of cops and their families could have used that money.

Jack: Yes, I know that. If you could trust Carly, but you can't. That's why I turned her down.

Margo: No, you turned her down out of spite.

Katie: You said no one would see us.

Henry: The whole lobby saw you. Poor Pepper will need puppy therapy after this. What were you thinking?

Brad: Well, you know we're trying to make a baby.

Henry: As a spectator sport?

Brad: Look, what is the big deal? You two used to be married. I mean, haven't you seen Katie naked before?

[Henry sighs]

Brad: You have seen Katie naked before, right?

Katie: Brad, go to work!

Brad: I'd rather go to your place.

Henry: Okay, that's it. Everybody out!

Katie: Brad, I will see you later.

Brad: Okay.

Katie: Brad. I'm sorry you had to see that. But you can't tell me that you and Vienna have never done it in an elevator.

Henry: I can tell you that Vienna and I have never gotten caught doing it in the elevator. Let's go. Come on.

Katie: Where?

Henry: I'm going to take you and Pepper for a walk. Looks like you could both use some more training. That way.

Sam: Bad news?

Carly: Jack turned me down.

Kit: Well, that's great! Look, I believe in doing good deeds and all, but I didn't want the opening overrun by a bunch of cops.

Carly: Kit, it was a good idea! For us, for the cops, for Jack. Why did he have to be so nasty about it?

Sam: What did he say?

Carly: Although I suppose that I deserve worse after everything I've put him through. He loved me for so long. It just -- still surprises me. Realizing that he'll never love me again.

Jack: You know how much the holiday fund means to me. I will make up for the loss.

Margo: I'm sure you will. And I understand why you're taking this hard line with Carly, but how long are you going to keep that up?

Jack: Forever. Give Carly an inch and she takes Toledo.

Margo: Uh-huh. You know this constant fighting, it's got to be doing a number on your kids, right?

Jack: It is. Believe me, it is. Sage wants us back together. J.J.'s bending over backwards to make everybody happy. And Parker, he's -- just as stubborn as his mom. It was like pulling teeth trying to get him over to her place on Christmas Eve.

Margo: Maybe that's because he's taking his cues from you. You're about the only parent he's got now that's not going to ditch him or die on him.

Jack: Well, wait a second. We never fight in front of the kids.

Margo: You don't have to, they pick up on it, Jack. It's your disrespect, it's your tone, it’s your body language. They get that.

Jack: Well, how many times does Carly get to betray my trust?

Margo: Why don't you beat her at her own game? Why don't you weigh what this benefit's going to do for you, and if you want, and then Carly's agenda won't matter.

Sam: You know, we can handle this if you're not up to it.

Carly: With or without Jack's help, I'm going to make Metro a success.

Kit: I know. Or we'll both go broke.

Sam: Maybe if your ex sees how hard you're working --

Carly: Jack and I are over. I cannot lean on him anymore.

Sam: Well, just remember, you're not alone. Kit and I are with you all the way.

Sofie: I want my baby to have a good life. And that's what I gave her.

Aaron: Yeah, but if you're having doubts then --

Sofie: No, it was the right thing. And missing her -- I'll get over it.

Aaron: Maybe you should see her.

Sofie: No, I can't. I can't.

Aaron: Look, Gwen and Will said you could be a part of the baby's life.

Sofie: No, no, not yet. I can't see her and then walk away. I couldn't do that. Not again. Not yet.

Gwen: She went right to sleep. Did you get a hold of Bonnie?

Will: Uh, yeah I did. She said that she could draw up the adoption papers for us. And since she knows my sister, it can happen right away. She can do it today.

Gwen: So soon?

Will: Yeah.

Gwen: I really wish Hallie weren't asleep right now. I want to hold her.

Will: Um, do you want me to call Sofie?

Gwen: No. No, I'll do it. She's going to want her back, Will. I know it.

Aaron: Who you calling?

Sofie: I was thinking of calling Gwen and Will. I want to ask them how the baby's doing. I kind of want to tell them that I made this.

Aaron: Have some breakfast.

[Cell phone rings]

Sofie: Gwen? Is the baby okay?

Gwen: She's fine. We just -- we need to make the adoption legal. We have a lawyer drawing up the papers. We just have to sign them.

Sofie: Of course. When?

Gwen: A half hour? We could come to you.

Sofie: No. I'll meet you.

Aaron: You shouldn't be going anywhere.

Gwen: Is that Aaron?

Sofie: Yeah. He's been taking care of me.

Gwen: You know, he's right. You just had a c-section, you shouldn't be going anywhere. It's not a problem for us to come to you.

Sofie: Lakeview. Half an hour. Will you drive me?

Aaron: Why didn't you just let them come here?

Sofie: I live here. I can't stay in this room knowing this is where I signed my baby away.

Will: She's fine.

Gwen: What was that noise she made?

Will: She's snoring. She gets that from you.

Gwen: Tell me that this is gonna be okay.

Will: So, who you going to tell first?

Gwen: Um, my sister.

Will: Yeah?

Gwen: Yeah. Carly's gonna be really excited. I know Sage is going to love Hallie. What about you?

Will: Paul and Rosanna.

Gwen: Your mom's gonna find out about it.

Will: Not from me. I'm not gonna let her or Iris get anywhere near Hallie.

Henry: You remember why I divorced you?

Katie: Henry --

Henry: I was in love with you, but you were in love with Mike. And I loved you too much to let you settle for less than everything.

Katie: And you are very sweet.

Henry: Uh-huh. Now I feel like an idiot. I feel like I got ripped off. I really do because you were the best thing in my life, up to that point, and I let you go, Katie. And for what? For what? So you can settle for sex instead of love? For Brad instead of Jack, really? For a baby instead of a house full of kids?

Katie: Well, what do you want me to do?

Henry: I want you to be happy, that's what! And, admit it, you're not!

Brad: Whipped cream. Put it on the list. Definitely putting that on the list, Katie loves whipped cream.

Vienna: And also add a little bit of hot chocolate fudge. She's going to love the Christmas surprise.

Brad: No love! No love. We are absolutely not talking about love. Katie wants sex and a baby. No love.

Vienna: Well, she won't be able to help herself. 'Cause the moment you get her pregnant, she will love you.

Brad: How do you know?

Vienna: Well, Henry and I just had a puppy, and I love them so much more than I thought was ever possible. Just wait until she has your child. She won't be able to resist the father of her baby.

Katie: Okay, I may not be happy, but I will be when I have a little baby.

Henry: With Brad?

Katie: Brad is just a sperm donor.

Henry: He's falling for you, Katie.

Katie: He is not!

Henry: Easy. Easy. Really? Have you ever been in love with you? I have. And I know the signs. You got to figure out what you want here, Sweetheart.

Katie: I know what I want. I want Jack, but I want a baby, too.

Henry: Then have them both.

Vienna: You know, it's a dream come true. You and Katie will have a baby and love each other forever.

Brad: Well, I don't know about forever.

Vienna: What? You're going to desert your child?

Brad: No. Katie doesn't want forever with me, not like she did with my brother.

Vienna: Well Jack didn't get her pregnant. Just give Katie a child, and she will be in your life always.

Brad: Yeah?

Vienna: Mm-hmm.

Brad: If I can make her forget Jack.

Katie: You really think Brad loves me?

Henry: You really think Brad is a great guy?

Katie: I want a baby.

Henry: Then call Jack, will you? He loves you.

Katie: I know.

Henry: You know? Did you talk to him?

Katie: He brought me a tree, how could I not love him?

Henry: Oh, then you got to go for it.

Katie: Yeah, but the second I take Jack back, I'll turn around and he'll be knocking down Carly's door.

Carly: Jack. What are you doing here?

Jack: Can I come in?

Carly: Yeah. What can I do for you?

Jack: You know what? I changed my mind. If your offer still stands to donate proceeds from Metro's New Year’s Eve party, I accept.

Kit: It's too late. Carly's not interested anymore.

Sam: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why don't we just let Carly speak for herself? Come on.

Carly: What made you change your mind?

Jack: I realized you were just trying to do something nice. For the fund. For me.

Carly: There's more to it.

Jack: Are we on or not?

Carly: Sure. Yeah. And you'll be there? On New Year’s?

Jack: Yeah. And so will a lot of other cops. So, tell your friends to be on their best behavior.

Carly: They will be. Jack? Why?

Jack: I'm getting something out of it. Something important.

Bonnie: Thank you so much for your Christmas present.

Lisa: You are welcome. Just because you're a grownup does not mean I can't spoil my goddaughter if I want to. Does the dress fit you?

Bonnie: Oh, perfectly. I think I'm going to wear it for New Year’s Eve.

Lisa: Oh, someone in particular?

Bonnie: No such luck. Lisa, I have to run. I have a meeting with some clients.

Lisa: Oh, another divorce?

Bonnie: No. An adoption.

Lisa: Oh.

Bonnie: Mm-hmm.

Lisa: Oh, you're adopting.

Gwen: Hi, Lisa.

Lisa: What a precious baby.

Gwen: This is our little girl, Hallie Jennifer Munson.

Lisa: Oh, that is so dear. What could be better than that?

Will: Thank you for doing this, Bonnie.

Bonnie: No problem. Jennifer was one of my dearest friends. So, I'll do anything for her little namesake.

Lisa: Oh, well. I will leave you in the capable hands of Bonnie. Congratulations.

Gwen: Thank you.

Will: Thank you.

Bonnie: Come on. Let's make this official, you guys.

Will: All right. Hey. Bonnie, you know Aaron.

Bonnie: Hi. How are you?

Will: This is the birth mother, Sofie Duran.

Bonnie: Hi. Sofie, it's a honor to meet you.

Gwen: Sofie, what's wrong?

Sofie: I didn't think you would bring her. Why did you bring her?

Lisa: Oh!

Barbara: I am so happy to see you!

Lisa: And I am so happy for you!

Barbara: Well, thank you. Why?

Lisa: Oh, Honey, I know that you want to keep it a secret until everything is finalized, but the cat's out of the bag because I ran into Gwen and Will today. And she's just beautiful.

Barbara: What are you talking about?

Lisa: I'm talking about Hallie Jennifer Munson. Oh, God, that's the most adorable name! Don't tell me, you didn't know about it.

Gwen: I'm sorry, Sofie. We thought that you'd want to see her. I can have Will wait outside with her.

Sofie: I just didn't expect -- you know what? I'm fine.

Aaron: You sure?

Sofie: Yeah. I'm just tired. Can we get started?

Bonnie: Of course. I think you have drawn up the adoption agreement, including the surrender papers for you, as the birth mother, to sign, giving up all your rights to Hallie Jennifer.

Sofie: You named her.

Will: Yeah. After my dad and my sister.

Gwen: If you don't like it we can change --

Sofie: No, I love it. I love it. The adoption says that she belongs to you, and the name says that you belong to her.

Bonnie: If you need some time --

Sofie: I need to sign the papers now.

Vienna: So, do you have all your notes? Are you clear on everything?

Brad: Katie's going to blown away, Vienna. Thank you.

Vienna: Yeah, well just give my friend her new year's baby! Oh, Henry! Oh, hello, Pepper, my baby! I love you so much!

Henry: I love you, too.

Vienna: Hi.

Henry: This has got to stop.

Brad: A stretch limo. That's right. And a dozen white roses and whipped cream. You heard right. Lots of whipped cream. Thank you.

Katie: Hot date?

Brad: You, me, limo, roses, baby making, New Year’s Eve.

Katie: It sounds interesting.

Jack: Well, it's too bad you're going to have to cancel those plans.

Katie: Jack.

Brad: What are you doing here?

Jack: I'm delivering a message to Katie. You're going to be busy on New Year’s covering an event.

Katie: Since when?

Jack: Since we're having a benefit for the policeman's holiday fund at Metro. Yeah, I hope you can get back your deposit on that limo, Brad. 'Cause Katie's going to be ringing in the new year with me.

Katie: Don't you dare cancel that limo, Brad. I am not working on New Year’s Eve. And I'm certainly not giving Carly's new club any good publicity.

Jack: Hey, it wasn't up to me. Talk to your boss. Kim okayed it.

Katie: Yeah, we'll see about that.

Brad: You going through a lot of trouble to get back together with Katie, it's not happening. She's over you.

Jack: Then why she so scared to spend New Year’s with me? I'll tell you why, because she knows that one look, one dance, one kiss, and we're right back where we started.

Brad: What did she say?

Katie: She thanked me for being a team player and helping out while Bob is sick. What can I say?

Jack: I'll see you there.

Katie: I was really looking forward to whipped cream.

Brad: With a touch of chocolate sauce.

Katie: I am going to kill Jack!

Brad: No, you know what? We're going to work around Jack. Because we're going to get the limo, we'll go to the Metro a few minutes before midnight, the ball will drop, you'll do your segment, and then we're going to spend the rest of the night getting you pregnant. That sound good?

Katie: Sounds good.

Brad: Someone needs to protect you from Jack.

Jack: I took your advice.

Margo: What? You made up with Carly?

Jack: Yeah, she's going through with the benefit as planned.

Margo: Great.

Jack: And I've arranged for Katie to cover it.

Margo: Two ex-wives in the same room for New Year’s Eve. You're an idiot.

Katie: I don't need you to protect me from anything.

Brad: But Jack is going to try to get you back.

Katie: So let him try! I can handle Jack. Alone. Consider our New Year’s Eve sex cancelled.

Brad: What? Wait, wait, what? Why? Why, look. Go to the club, do your thing, and then we can have our date before and after. And after.

Katie: But we are not dating!

Brad: Well whatever the -- we're doing. Okay? All I know is you're not going to Metro alone on New Year’s. If I don't go to the party with you, you're not going to the party. Deal with it.

Henry: Katie loves Jack, Sweetheart.

Vienna: Yes. And Jack broke her heart. And Brad, he will unbreak it by giving her a little, beautiful baby.

Henry: But Brad is Brad.

Vienna: Yeah, and people can change. Like me. I wanted a baby, you gave me a puppy, and now I love Pepper!

Henry: Brad is -- his IQ if far less than Pepper, and he's not half as cute!

Vienna: No, but Katie will love Brad when he gives her a little puppy -- I mean, a child.

Henry: Katie loves Jack!

Vienna: Well, Jack loves the mother of his litter! And Katie will love the father of hers.

Kit: I want my share of the profits. You can give your 50% to the cops if you want to. I'm keeping mine.

Carly: No. You can't do that.

Sam: Kit, Kit, think this through. Okay, Carly knows the players here. We don't. If this benefit deal opens the door to everybody in this town, okay, it's gonna create a buzz. And then you'll make more money in the long run.

Carly: That's exactly what I was thinking. This is our shot. And Jack can help us make it happen.

Kit: Maybe. Or maybe he's just playing you.

Carly: To get what?

Kit: Girl, I don't know! But you'd better find out. Because if he's after some kind of revenge, we all --

Sam: Kit, give it a rest!

Carly: Look, there will be twice as many people at this opening because of Jack.

Kit: Why's he being so nice to you all of a sudden? Hmm? Look, you can trust him if you want to, but I won't.

Jack: So, you think inviting Katie to Metro is going to backfire?

Margo: How are you going rekindle your flame with Katie, with Carly watching your every move? And then Carly'll make a move of her own.

Jack: I know who I want to spend the rest of my life with. And it's not Carly.

Carly: Kit, you got to stick with me on this. Okay? I can't blow this deal with Jack.

Kit: Look, Carly, if he's up to something --

Carly: He's not! He's not up to anything! I know he isn't. And I have to prove to him that we can work together, that he can trust me with the kids. And then maybe we can start over -- not as a couple, you know, but as parents.

Sam: Hey. Carly's been good to us.

Kit: Okay, okay. I'm still in.

Carly: Okay?

Kit: Yeah.

Carly: You're in?

Kit: Yeah.

Carly: Great, thanks. I'm going to make some calls, and I am gonna get us a lot of customers.

Kit: Okay. Hey. What's up with you? Why'd you side with Carly just now?

Sam: Because -- when we disagree it gets you hot. And that gets me hot.

Aaron: This surrender document?

Bonnie: Well, by signing it, Sofie surrenders all of her legal rights as a parent. Sofie, by law, you are allowed some time to revoke your consent -- if you change your mind.

Sofie: I won't change my mind.

Bonnie: Nevertheless, the law's there to protect you. So, if you'd like to seek out other counsel, we can hold off on this. You shouldn't sign those papers if you're having second thoughts, or if you feel like you're under duress.

Aaron: I think Sofie is feeling kind of torn about this whole thing --

Sofie: Where do I sign?

Lisa: Oh, Honey, don't tell me you didn't know.

Barbara: Well, I'm sure they're planning to surprise me.

Lisa: Well, yes, of course. I'm just sorry I ruined the surprise. Oh, just wait until you see this precious little girl.

Barbara: My granddaughter.

Lisa: Mm-hmm.

Barbara: I can't wait to see her.

Bonnie: Since this is an open adoption, Sofie, you're allowed contact and visitation under certain restrictions.

Gwen: Excuse me, we made a promise to Sofie that she'd be a part of Hallie's life. I don't see any need for restrictions.

Bonnie: Well, it's a standard contract, we can always add an addendum.

Sofie: Yeah, whatever you decide is fine. If we're finished -- can we go?

Gwen: Before you go, listen, we're going to have a christening for her. And I could call you and let you know when and where --

Sofie: Thanks, but I really don't think I should.

Bonnie: You know what, if you need anything else, feel free to call me. Please. Thank you.

Will: She seemed really shaky.

Gwen: She's just -- she just gave birth to a baby. She's gonna be okay. Especially if she can see Hallie whenever she wants.

Will: Yeah, but I don't know if that's such a great idea. I think she needs to get used to the idea of not being the mother.

Bonnie: Yeah, I have to agree with Will on this one. Those restrictions on visitation, they might actually help Sofie.

Gwen: We made a promise to Sofie, and we got to keep it.

Will: We should get her home. She needs rest.

Gwen: Yeah.

Bonnie: All right. I'll file the papers. But as of now, Hallie Jennifer is officially your daughter. Congratulations.

Will: Thank you.

Gwen: Thank you.

Will: Oh, wait. One more thing. Yeah, we have pictures of Gwen and Hallie, and me and Hallie, but none of the three of us. So, I was wondering if you would?

Bonnie: Of course.

Will: Great.

Gwen: Thank you.

Will: Here.

Bonnie: Okay. There. Just a little bit. Perfect. One, two, three. Say Hallie.

Will: Hallie.

Gwen: Hallie.

Bonnie: Aw.

Barbara: Hi. I ran into Lisa, she told me your news. Please, can I see my granddaughter?

Will: You need to go. You're not welcome here.

Aaron: I'll go get us some food. You need to eat something.

Sofie: I'm not hungry.

Aaron: Sofie, you have to take care of yourself.

Sofie: I read somewhere that babies get to know the sound of their mother's voice. Do you think that's true?

Aaron: Yeah. Yeah, probably.

Sofie: I used to talk to her all the time. I wonder if she misses my voice. If she can even tell the difference.

Barbara: Lisa said she's beautiful.

Will: You should go, Mom. I'm not going to let you see her.

Barbara: Because I tried to give you what you wanted most? Because I tried to give you a baby?

Will: Because you tried to buy a baby, Mom. And then you lied to us about it!

Barbara: That's not -- I was trying to help you, Will.

Will: And because of you, Sofie started to rely on Cole, and he left her with nothing. If Gwen hadn't gone to check on her, they both could have died.

Barbara: But everything turned out okay. Didn't it? Right? Will, you've been handed a miracle. You have a daughter. This is no time for bad feelings. Please. Please, forgive me.

Henry: Brad's in lust and Katie wants Jack. And it shouldn't fall on the shoulders of some poor infant to make everything right. Yes?

Vienna: Yes. Except that --

Henry: Vienna --

Vienna: Brad's in love, not lust. And Katie must at least be a little bit in love, otherwise she wouldn't have been having so much fun making babies.

Henry: I'm never going to convince you, am I?

Vienna: No. But although you're wrong, I'll still love you.

Henry: Thank you.

Vienna: And you are going to be a wonderful father some day.

Henry: Some day -- far, far away.

Vienna: Yes.

Henry: Yes?

Katie: You're not letting me go to Metro? You're not letting me? What am I, some kid that's being grounded?

Brad: I am just trying to protect you. It's Carly's club. You're going to show up there, Jack's going to be all over you, and you know, Carly's going to distract him somehow, some way, and then you're going to end up crying. Happy New Year.

Katie: Yeah, well you being there changes things how? What are you going to do to protect me?

Brad: This. Katie, we're making a baby together. And that trumps anything Jack's got going on.

Carly: There is still so much to do.

Kit: I'm going to start stocking the bar.

Sam: I'm going to go hang the lights for the stage.

Cowboy Jack: Make sure that key light hits my good side, there partner.

Sam: All right. Whatever you say, Cowboy Jack.

Carly: Uh, Kit.

Kit: Hmm?

Carly: Sam isn't under the impression that he's doing his little Cowboy Jack thing on New Year’s, is he?

Kit: No, no, no, no. No, he's just kidding. He's just kidding. Besides, he knows you booked a band for opening night.

Carly: Right. Yes. I'd better confirm that, huh?

Jack: Hey.

Carly: Hi.

Jack: Hi, I just thought I'd bring by some promotional material for the charity. I thought it might come in handy.

Carly: Yeah, it will. Thank you.

Jack: The place is coming together.

Carly: Yeah, it is. Isn't it? I want it to be a nice atmosphere, you know? A place where people can really have fun.

Jack: I'm sure I will.

Carly: That means a lot to me to hear you say that.

Jack: Oh, and I arranged for some press coverage for the party. Yeah, I pulled some strings over at WOAK for Katie to cover the story.

Carly: Katie?

Jack: Yeah. I hope that's not a problem?

Carly: Well, you arranged for Katie, who hates me, to review my opening. No, why would that be a problem, Jack? Why on earth would I have a problem with that?

Jack: You said you wanted me and Katie to reconnect. If you didn't mean it, you shouldn't have said --

Carly: I did. I did. I meant it. I want you to be happy. And I want you to be here for the opening. And if you want to bring someone, that's fine.

Jack: Oh, gee, thanks.

Carly: But why does Katie have to be here as a reporter? Huh? She'll bury me. Why can't she just be here as your date?

Jack: Because she's not my date.

Carly: Oh, I see. The story is the only way you could get her here.

Brad: I'm looking out for you!

Katie: Well, I don't need you to tell me where to go or what to do. You're helping me make a baby, that doesn't make you the boss of me.

Brad: Okay. I can't tell you where to go, Katie. Great. But I can tell you who's going with you -- me!

Katie: You're not going anywhere if your foot's broken!

Barbara: I have apologized. And you have a daughter. Why can't you just put the past behind us?

Will: Because I liked the past few months. I had a great mom. You listened to us, and you helped Gwen and me. And then, in the name of helping us, you scared Sofie, you nearly broke my wife's heart, and Hallie could have died!

Barbara: I didn't mean for any of that to happen.

Will: If it was just me who could get hurt, that's one thing. But this is my family. My wife. My daughter. I'm sorry.

Aaron: I can't come in. Fire me then.

Sofie: Aaron. Aaron, go. It's fine.

Aaron: Are you sure?

Sofie: Yeah. If you stay, you'll just be watching me sleep. I'm exhausted.

Aaron: Hey. Okay, I'm coming in. Bye. Are you sure you're okay?

Sofie: Yeah. Thanks to you I've got food and water and juice and meds. I can handle things from here.

Aaron: Call me if you need anything, okay?

Gwen: Was that your mom?

Will: She's gone.

Gwen: Hard on you?

Will: No. This makes up for it.

Katie: How's your foot?

Brad: It's throbbing. Thank you.

Katie: I'm sorry. I lost my temper.

Brad: You lost your temper because you care about me.

Katie: I do not! We are not in a relationship. Find something else to do New Year’s Eve.

Brad: And somebody else?

Katie: It makes no difference to me.

Jack: Katie's coming here New Year’s to cover a story. I'm coming here to be with Katie. But if you didn't want Katie to come --

Carly: You know what I want? I want this to be the happiest year you've ever had.

Jack: Well, maybe this can be the happiest year for all of us.

On the next "As the World Turns."

Lucinda: So long as Dusty is in your bed, Holden won't be.

Holden: I was thinking that maybe we could fly to Reno, after new years and finalize the divorce.

Lily: Oh.

Jack: He has a warrant for Kit's arrest.

Dusty: The only reason you're with him, is 'cause you're too scared to be with me.

Emily: No, I'm too smart to be with you.

Dusty: Bob?
