Dusty: Hi there. I'd like a pot of coffee, two cups, scrambled eggs for two and croissants. Thank you.

Lily: Croissants. You remembered.

Dusty: Yeah. Everybody needs a little French TLC after Thanksgiving.

Lily: This used to be such a happy time for all of us. Now I feel like I'm on the outside looking in at my own family.

Dusty: I know that feeling. I know that family's always been number one for you. It's got to be tough.

Lily: I just wanted to spend some girl time with Faith and Natalie today, but Holden called and Faith would rather spent time with her friend, and Natalie had a troop meeting today. Of course, I forgot about that. I don't know how.

Dusty: That's 'cause Holden's keeping you out of the loop. That's why.

Lily: Every time I see him, he is so angry. The only time that I feel like I'm not under fire is when I'm with you.

Dusty: Okay, then you're going to spend the day with me. How's that sound?

Faith: Hey, Grandma!

Lucinda: Hi, Sweetheart. A wonderful serendipitous. How are you, Faith, my darling?

Faith: I'm good. This is my friend, Lori.

Lori: Hello, nice to meet you.

Lucinda: Nice to meet you, Lori.

Lori: Oh Faith, my mom's waving. Are you coming with or staying here?

Lucinda: Could you just tell your mom that Faith will be there in a few minutes? I just want to have a word with her.

Lori: Okay.

Lucinda: Hey! Sorry about Thanksgiving. I was out of town, I was out of town. Did you have fun at the farm? Did you eat? Was it wonderful? Did Emma do something fascinating with turnips?

Faith: It was okay, I guess.

Lucinda: Oh, what happened?

Faith: Well, Jack and Brad got in a fight over Katie.

Lucinda: Yuck, yuck. But nobody ended face down in the Hubbard squash?

Faith: No.

Lucinda: No, okay. What is it then, Baby? You know I'm going to find out.

Faith: Well, Mom left early.

Lucinda: Was there an emergency?

Faith: I don't think so. She just said she was going to the Lakeview. Whatever that means.

Lucinda: I think I know what that means.

Noah: Hey.

Luke: Noah. Noah, hi. Look, about last night, I'm sorry. Thanksgiving's not really like that usually with my family.

Noah: Well don't worry about it. Some of the dinners I've been to on base make last night look tame.

Luke: Somehow I kinda doubt that.

Noah: Yeah, well, at least your family doesn't go out and grab guns to solve their problems.

Luke: Yeah. Well, I know yesterday was really rough --

Noah: Hey, look, I just came by to say -- actually to give you this. It's a homework assignment for your Lit class.

Luke: Oh.

Noah: I should have given it to you yesterday, but I forgot.

Luke: Don't worry. You had a lot on your mind yesterday.

Noah: Right. Well, I should head over to the library and finish my film studies paper. So um --

Luke: Yeah, see ya. Noah?

Noah: What?

Luke: You want some leftover turkey? We have plenty.

Noah: I think I'll be stuffed from yesterday for the next three days, so, so long.

Holden: Luke? What's wrong?

Lily: Yummy.

Dusty: Now, they forgot two cups for our coffee. We have one.

Lily: You don't want to share a cup with me?

Dusty: I'll share anything with you, but I have to have my own cup of coffee in the morning.

Lily: Okay.

Dusty: Yes, I've asked for two cups. I have one. Thank you.

Lily: You're very serious about coffee. Didn't know that about you.

Dusty: Very serious. Can't be without it. I mean, you don't want to see me without it. It would destroy your illusions about me.

Lily: I don't have any illusions about you. I know who you are. That's why I'm here. [Knock at the door] That was quick. I run a tight ship here. I have very good workers.

Dusty: Guy's fast.

Lily: Guy's fast. Oh, no.

Lucinda: Oh, Darling -- damn.

Lily: No.

Lucinda: What are you two guys think you're doing?

Brad: I know, I know, I know! Makeup took forever. You know, every crack I made about you and the black eye you got from the hockey puck? Consider it payback. Why did Jack have to go for the eye?

Katie: He was trying to hit you where it hurt.

Brad: Yeah well, you know, there's worse. I'm sorry I kept you waiting.

Katie: Fine.

Brad: Can I get you a latte, a juice, anything?

Katie: Already had one.

Brad: You know, can we get a latte here?

Katie: I already had one!

Brad: Look, I know you're going through a really hard time right now, and that it's partly my fault. But I swear, I will make everything up to you. And I'm going to start by taking you to lunch at the Black Duck.

Katie: Thanks, but no thanks.

Brad: You don't want to be seen with me and my bruises?

Katie: I really just want to get through this day, okay?

Brad: You probably think I deserve worse.

Katie: Brad, actually, I haven't been thinking about you at all.

Kit: This is a big mistake.

Carly: Yes, it is. Red wallpaper? Come on, Kit, this is supposed to be a classy establishment here.

Kit: And what kind of name is "Metro" for a bar, anyhow?

Carly: Excuse me? What about the Jagged Edge? Is that supposed to be really hip in Idaho?

Kit: You know, suddenly I'm starting to get second thoughts about this partnership.

Carly: Yeah? Tough. If I supply the cash, I get to weigh in on everything.

Kit: You just don't quit, do you?

Carly: You know something? If I did, my life would be a lot easier.

Kit: You don't do easy. The easy thing would've been to kick me out the minute you saw me. Instead, you invest a hundred grand, you become my partner, and you re-design the whole bar. Call me crazy, but I'm getting this feeling that my luck may finally be changing.

Carly: Well. I must be just as crazy, because I'm getting the same feeling.

Brad: Can you touch up my --

Makeup artist: You can't see the mark on camera, Brad. Cross my heart.

Brad: Let's just make sure.

Jack: Where's Katie?

Makeup artist: She stepped away. She'll be back in a few.

Jack: Thank you very much.

Brad: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where do you think you're going?

Jack: Through you unless you move.

Brad: There's no way I'm going to let you upset her again.

Jack: Oh yeah? And how do you plan on stopping me, Brad? You going to throw your other eye in front of my fist?

Brad: If that's what it takes.

Katie: Stop!

Jack: Bring it.

Katie: Hey! Are we going to go through all this again?

Jack: Katie, I just want to talk to you.

Brad: She doesn't want to listen to anything you have to say.

Jack: Nobody's asking you, and I'm not going anywhere until I talk to Katie.

Katie: It's okay, Brad. I think Jack and I should talk.

Brad: Wait. You mean right now? We're taping a show. You don't want to break your flow, you know, get out of the zone.

Katie: Brad, I appreciate your concern for my "Flow," but I think I will be able to pick things up where we left off.

Brad: Fine. Talk.

Lily: How did you know that I was here?

Lucinda: Oh, Honey. Faith. I ran into Faith.

Lily: Faith?

Lucinda: Faith told me. She told me that you left Thanksgiving dinner in the middle of dinner.

Lily: You know that I would never do that.

Lucinda: You didn't?

Lily: No.

Lucinda: You didn't leave in the middle of dinner to come to the Lakeview for -- you know -- to be with him.

Lily: Him?

Lucinda: Him!

Lily: His name is Dusty and he's a very good friend, and you're embarrassing yourself. And him.

Lucinda: Well, I'm not the least bit embarrassed. And look at him. He doesn't look the least bit embarrassed. Maybe it's you who are embarrassed, and if that's true, why don't you get out of that robe, get into your clothes, and go home where you belong?

Lily: Where I belong?

Lucinda: Mm-hmm.

Lily: And with whom is none of your business.

Dusty: Lucinda, would you care for a croissant?

Lucinda: And you -- I thought you were listening to me. I thought you were going to try to stay away from her.

Dusty: I don't take orders. You know that.

Lucinda: Well, maybe you should take orders, Darling, and stay away and not ruin this young woman's life.

Lily: I am not 15 years old! You can't tell me who I can hang around with, and you can't run my life.

Lucinda: Yeah, well maybe I ought to. Because you're not doing a very spectacular job yourself.

Lily: Okay, I want you to get out. Now.

Luke: This maybe totally stupid, but it's about Noah. I think I said something yesterday that maybe I shouldn't have.

Holden: Do you think you offended him?

Luke: No. No, I tried to do the exact opposite. I told him I loved him. Yeah, we were at the police station with his father, and I just got so emotional, and I was trying to make a point.

Holden: Did you mean it?

Luke: Yeah. Yeah, but I guess he doesn't feel the same way. Now I just feel like I made everything so awkward and uncomfortable.

Holden: He didn't seem uncomfortable last night.

Luke: Was this after the first fight or before Mom walked out?

Holden: Did he say anything about what you said?

Luke: Not a word. Maybe he just doesn't know what to say, or maybe he needs more time, or maybe I just trashed everything with my big stupid mouth.

Lucinda: Uh, Darling, I don't think you've thought this thing through.

Lily: I thought I asked you to leave. Please.

Lucinda: Is this what you want, ultimately? Is this what Dusty wants, ultimately?

Dusty: Would you like a coffee and a croissant for the road?

Lucinda: Okay, thanks. All right.

Dusty: I'll call you.

Lucinda: Oh no, I'm hitting the trail. Okay. I can do it. It's all right.

Dusty: See ya.

Lucinda: Sorry. Okay.

Lily: My God, is that what Faith thinks? That I ran out on her? To come here and be with you?

Dusty: She's a kid. She doesn't get it.

[Knock at the door]

Waiter: I came as quickly as I could, Mr. Donovan.

Dusty: I appreciate it. Look, its okay. I mean, looks like our plan for the day together is not going to happen, but, I'll take a rain check if you will.

Lily: Are you sure?

Dusty: Yeah. I'm not going anywhere, I'm here.

Lily: Okay. Thank you for helping me escape. Even if it was just for one night.

Carly: I was in a pretty bad place before you got here.

Kit: With the cop? What'd he do to you?

Carly: It's more like what I did to him. I was told I was sick, I was dying. And when it turned out that the doctor made a mistake, I -- I kept it from Jack for a while.

Kit: So he'd keep feeling sorry for you.

Carly: It was more than that. He was starting to admit how much he loved me again. It was wonderful. We were actually standing right there at the altar ready to get married again, when I broke down and told him the truth.

[Laughing]

Kit: I wish I'd seen that.

Katie: Brad, please! Just a few minutes alone, okay?

Brad: Okay, whatever you want. I'll be right over there if you need me.

Jack: When are you going to get it through your fat head that she doesn't need you?

Katie: Jack, please. This is not helping.

Jack: I know, you're right. Okay, I'm sorry. I'm grateful you're even willing to speak to me.

Katie: I'd like to think that we can always talk.

Jack: Okay, we can, of course we can. I know I have no right to question you --

Katie: But you're going to anyway.

Jack: I just don't know -- how could you speak to Brad after what he's done? He kept Carly's secret, Katie. If he had come clean, it would have saved us both a lot of heartache, don't you think?

Katie: I know. I know that. But let's not forget that it was Carly that started this whole thing, not Brad.

Jack: Okay, and let's not forget that he's my brother. He aided and abetted Carly.

Katie: Yeah, right.

Jack: For God knows how long.

Katie: So he should've told the truth. I get it. He should've been more like you. But he's not. He's Brad. And since I have to see him every day, I'd like to not wake up every morning dreading going to work. So I decided to forgive him and move on. I suggest you do the same.

Carly: That's not exactly the reaction I expected.

Kit: Oh, come on. You conned a cop. That's pretty damn funny. He was actually standing there in a tuxedo and everything?

Carly: Funny, that's not a joke. Jack was devastated.

Kit: Oh, what's the big deal? Nobody died. Hell, it was the opposite. Look, I've done a lot worse -- to you, for that matter.

Carly: That's certainly true.

Kit: Anyhow, you only did what you did 'cause you love him, right? All's fair in love and war. Everybody knows that.

Carly: Everybody except Jack.

Katie: I'm just trying to get through a very difficult time the best way I know how.

Jack: Well, to tell the truth, I'm glad that you forgave Brad. It kind of gives me hope that maybe you can find it in your heart to forgive me, too.

Katie: Of course, I forgive you, Jack. But I don't know if I'm ever going to be able to get past what happened.

Jack: Okay, wait a minute. Whoa. Wait a second. What'll it take to make you give me -- us another chance?

Lucinda: Hey, hi! I waited for you.

Lily: Why am I not surprised?

Lucinda: Because I know you, and you know me.

Lily: Okay, then you know what I'm going to say. This conversation is pointless.

Lucinda: You didn't stay too much longer upstairs after I left.

Lily: You didn't make it very easy for me to stay.

Lucinda: Well now, Darling, now that your schedule has opened up, why don't we sit down? Let's sit down.

Lily: Okay, what are we going to talk about? We're going to talk about the 2008 election? Oh no, wait. No. We can talk about Dusty and Holden and how I'm ruining my life. You got me out of Dusty's room. You succeeded. Just let it go, please.

Lucinda: If that's the only thing you think I wanted, you're sadly mistaken.

Lily: I know what you want. I've heard everything that you have to say.

Lucinda: Have you?

Lily: Yes.

Lucinda: I want to apologize. I'm sorry.

Holden: Saying "I love you," that's a big, big step.

Luke: I know. It was scary.

Holden: Doesn't get any easier the older you get.

Luke: Yeah, well, I just -- I wish there was some way that I knew how Noah felt about me.

Holden: He came by this morning.

Luke: Yeah, he came by, but that doesn't exactly mean --

Holden: Look, look. All I'm saying is, he calls you his boyfriend. He spent a major holiday with your crazy family. And he goes out of his way to come here to see you, even when you're not so happy to see him. I'd say that's a sign of something.

Lily: Dusty's not a replacement for Holden.

Lucinda: No.

Lily: No.

Lucinda: No, he's much more dangerous. And also, you have all that back story. All that childhood innocence and all the things you did and your life, which was wonderful when you had nothing to worry about except your overbearing mother.

Lily: What I have with Dusty is a lot more than nostalgia.

Lucinda: Okay.

Lily: He makes me happy when I'm with him, and for the first time in a long time, I feel that way.

Lucinda: I want you to be happy, Baby. I really do, but -- not in a bubble. Dusty isn't the answer.

Lily: No, he's not an answer. But he puts a stop to some of the questions.

Lucinda: You're like a river that's been diverted. You're diverted out of your course about you're supposed to be doing.

Lily: Well what am I -- what about -- what do you think that I'm supposed to be doing?

Lucinda: You can still fix it. You can fix this thing. You just have to fight. You have to fight for your marriage before it is too late.

Kit: My stomach's starting to make friends with my backbone. You got any breakfast in here?

Carly: No. You know, since my kids moved out, I'm sort of low on supplies. I'll go get us something.

Kit: Okay.

Carly: Just don't mess with this while I'm gone.

Kit: Mm-hmm.

J.J.: Hey, Mom, I forgot one of my books. What are you doing here?

Kit: I -- um --

J.J.: What did you do to my mom?!

Kit: Nothing! Nothing! Nothing!

Katie: Oh, I wish it were that easy.

Jack: No, no, I know we can do it. Katie, if you'll let me, I'll give you the life you deserve. I love you. That hasn't changed.

Katie: I know you do, just as much as I still love you.

Jack: Okay.

Katie: But that's what makes this so hard.

Jack: No, no, that's a start.

Katie: No, that's all it is. Because the truth is, you still chose Carly over me, and in my heart, I know you would do it again.

Jack: No, you can't know that. You can't -- Brad, I'm not going to tell you again! Get the hell outta here and give us some time alone, please!

Kit: You got it wrong, Kid! I didn't do nothing to your mother.

J.J.: You're lying!

Kit: Stop it!

Carly: J.J.! Hey, hey! J.J., it's all right. Hey, listen to me, its okay.

J.J.: What is she doing here? She helped the people who kidnapped me!

Carly: J.J., its okay.

Kit: Look, I'm real sorry about what things you had to go through, Kid.

J.J.: No, you're not! You're just trying to trick us and hurt us again. But I won't let you! Mom, don't believe her!

Carly: Hey, J.J.! Sweetheart! J.J.!

Brad: I'm not eavesdropping, I'm working.

Katie: Brad --

Brad: This is a place of work. You know, seriously, Katie, working. I'm -- checking the props.

Katie: Joanne already checked the props.

Brad: You can't be too careful.

Katie: Then check the props in the office.

Brad: Already checked those.

Katie: You can't be too careful. Go now! Please.

Jack: You just tell me, come on. Tell me something. Give me anyway to convince you that we can work this out. [Cell phone rings] J.J., Buddy, this really isn't a good time --

J.J.: That crazy lady from the bar in Idaho, she's at Mom's house.

Jack: I'm on my way.

Katie: What's wrong?

Jack: Something's going on at Carly's house. I gotta make sure J.J.'s okay.

Brad: Need I say more?

Lily: I cannot hold onto this marriage by myself, and I'm tired of trying. Holden's made it very clear, he wants nothing to do with me.

Lucinda: Don't believe it. I don't believe that. You're always breaking up and then getting back together again and loving each other.

Lily: Holden has drawn up divorce papers.

Lucinda: Oh.

Lily: Who are you -- don't call him. Do not call Holden.

Lucinda: I'm not calling Holden, Darling.

Lily: It's not going to help.

Lucinda: I'm calling one of my high-priced attorneys. And he's going to stall --

Lily: No, no, no, no. You're not. No, I'm signing the papers. That's it.

Lucinda: Yes --

Lily: You just told me I have to grow up, stop living in the past. Doesn't that mean accepting something when it's over?

Lucinda: Is this what you really want? Is it what you really want?

Lily: It has to be.

Lucinda: Then -- okay. You gotta tell the kids.

Lily: They already know about the divorce.

Lucinda: Then you got to reassure them that they are still a major part of your world.

Lily: They are. They know that.

Lucinda: I don't know about that. Not after the Thanksgiving performance. Do they have any sense? Do they know that you won't just leave them at the drop of a hat to "Go to the Lakeview," as Faith said. "To the Lakeview, whatever that means."

Luke: So Dad, if you're able to fix things between me and Noah, maybe it's not too late to fix things with Mom.

Holden: I think it's too late for that. And we all need to accept it.

Luke: But she keeps coming here. Comes out of her way, even though you make her feel unwelcome. Like you said, that's gotta mean something.

Noah: Dusty. Hi.

Dusty: Noah, what's up? What's on your mind?

Noah: I don't want to bother you.

Dusty: You're not bothering me. Have a seat. You hungry? Want something to eat?

Noah: I'm fine. I just need to thank you for the way you acted about what happened with my father.

Dusty: Buddy, I told you, none of that's your fault.

Noah: I know that now, but until you said that, I still felt like everything my father was doing was to try and "Save" me. Like if I measured up to him, you know, he'd back off.

Dusty: Listen to me. If you don't measure up to your father, then it's all about him. You see, it's all about his messed-up mind.

Noah: It's like he wanted me to be --

Dusty: Somebody else. If he's not proud of you the way you are, that's his problem. So, now that you don't have to live the way your father wants you to live, what are you going to do?

Brad: Jack's family is always going to come first.

Katie: And they should. That's one of the reasons I love him.

Brad: But do you love what that means? No matter how much he wants you back, the minute Carly or one of the kids gets a hangnail, he's going to get all captain Jack and run over there to the rescue, you know? Leaving you. I'm sorry to state the obvious.

Katie: Then donít.

Brad: You're right. This is probably a sore subject.

Katie: Yeah, probably about as sore as your eye.

Brad: Will you let me help you get your mind off it? Look, I know exactly what you need.

Katie: Pretty sure you donít.

Brad: Yeah. A good, old-fashioned back rub. Sit down. I'm not taking no for an answer.

J.J.: See? There she is.

Jack: Okay, you're right, come on. All right, I want you to get your bike, I want you to get on out of here. I'll take care of this, all right? Go, go, go, go, go! Hold it right there.

Kit: Oh, my God!

Carly: What are you doing?

Jack: Carly, back away, please. I don't know how you broke out, but you made a big mistake coming here, threatening my family again, Lady.

Kit: I didn't break out, I'm not threatening your family!

Carly: Jack, she got a suspended sentence. She's here to make amends.

Jack: Yeah, right. Tell me another one.

Katie: I said I wasn't going to dwell on what you did, but I don't really feel comfortable with this.

Brad: Back rub, bad idea.

Katie: You think?

Brad: Bad idea.

Katie: Yeah, you know what, Brad? I'm going to work with you, and maybe some day in the future we might be friends again. Might. But don't push your luck, okay?

Brad: Of course not. What kind of idiot do you take me for? Don't answer that question. The point is, working together, and maybe being friends one day, whatever you want, its fine with me. Really.

Kit: It's true. You can call the cops in Idaho and check yourself.

Jack: Oh, believe me, I will.

Kit: I want you to. And I want you to know I feel like hell about the things I did when I was drinking. But I'm on the wagon now. And one of the first steps is admitting your mistakes. So please, accept my apology.

Jack: She nearly killed you, me and J.J. Why the hell would you let her in the house?

Carly: Jack, I came in, and I found her here. I was going to throw her out -- would you just let me explain?

Jack: These are the plans to Metro. What are these doing here? So why are you making notes on these floor plans, Carly? Metro's been closed a long time, Kit. Not much in there worth stealing.

Kit: I never was a thief.

Jack: Well, it's good to know there are a couple gaps on your rap sheet. So what's the plan, Ladies?

Carly: We're not doing anything illegal, Jack.

Jack: And I should believe you because?

Carly: These plans -- I'm redesigning Metro. You see? I'm moving this wall back to make more room for the bar. I'm changing the entrance through here, through the kitchen.

Jack: Why are you doing this?

Carly: For my client.

Jack: Who is?

Carly: Kit. Kit is buying Metro.

Jack: Oh really? Well, good for you, Kit. You're not that hard up for work. Find another client.

Carly: She's not just my client, Jack. We're partners.

Lily: Hi.

Luke: Mom! So nice of you to come so far out of your way.

Lily: I come here all the time, and you know that. I need to talk to the children.

Holden: Of course you do.

Lily: Did I interrupt something?

Holden: No. I have to head out to the barn, do some work. I'll leave you two to talk.

Luke: Faith and Natalie aren't back yet, so you can either wait 'til they get back, or just tell me.

Lily: Actually, I'm glad to just talk to you alone, first.

Luke: Oh great. It's never a good sign when I have to be your translator.

Lily: No, no, no. It's not that. I know I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again. All of you have to believe that whether or not your father and I are together, we are still a family. Whether you live here or at the house, it doesn't change the way that I feel about you. You and your sisters and Ethan are the most important people in the world to me.

Luke: I know that, Mom. But the problem is, when you walk out in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner, it gives kind of a different impression.

Lily: I had to work at the Lakeview.

Luke: Yeah, and I know you've said that, but Faith seems to think it had something to do with Dusty. Was she wrong?

Dusty: Can I get some more water when you have a chance?

Noah: But, what am I supposed to do now? I mean, I'm going to school, I'm hanging out.

Dusty: Sounds good. Sounds like living to me.

Noah: But, what am I supposed to do? I mean, what am I supposed to be?

Dusty: Just be yourself. That's it.

Noah: Why are being you so nice to me?

Dusty: I'm just telling you how I see it.

Noah: My father tried to kill you and tried to frame you for killing my mother. And you're still acting like a -- like a friend to me.

Dusty: Well, don't take it personally. I need all the friends I can get these days.

Lily: Faith is very hostile towards me these days and very suspicious of everything that I do.

Luke: That's not an answer.

Lily: All right, you know, I'll give you an answer. I'm giving you an answer. Whether I'm at the Lakeview, on the moon, I'm your mother. I love you, and I will never abandon any of you.

Luke: But maybe it would be easier for Faith if you'd come around here more often.

Lily: Faith? Faith would rather spend time with her girlfriends shopping. She blows me off all the time.

Luke: Yeah, but if you were hanging out here more often, then Faith would have time to adjust to it.

Lily: You know, I don't think your father would appreciate me spending anymore time out here.

Luke: Well, I don't really think that you know what Dad wants.

Lily: I know exactly what he wants. He's told me what he wants, in no uncertain terms. But you're right, I know. I should be spending more time with you and Faith, and I will try even harder. I promise. And as far as the Lakeview goes, I have to work there, sometimes even on holidays. You should understand that.

Luke: Okay, whatever. Look, Noah brought over homework that I really should get started on.

Lily: Okay.

Holden: So, you and Dusty are working at the Lakeview? Is that what you're calling it now?

Carly: I got the check for the settlement, and buying Metro seemed like a good investment.

Jack: You followed it by going into partnership with someone who's got bosom buddies doing time in the state pen.

Kit: Not anymore. Look, that's all over. I've been clean and sober for 26 days and 9 hours.

Jack: 26 days, Carly. You hear that? 26 whole days. Congratulations, Kit. Now get the hell out of my house, or I will arrest you!

Carly: On what charge?

Jack: Oh, I'm sure she's got plenty of skeletons in her closet. It'll only take me a little bit of time to find a felony attached to one of them.

Kit: Okay, don't worry, I'm leaving. Okay? Just let me get my stuff. So long, Detective.

Lily: Were you eavesdropping on my conversation with Luke?

Holden: Nope, I just came back to get my gloves. But now you got me thinking about your definition of "Work." Clearly, I need to go check my dictionary.

Lily: You know, this is not funny at all.

Holden: I'm not laughing.

Lily: No, I did not tell Luke the whole truth.

Holden: Of course you didnít.

Lily: Our children don't need to know every single detail of my personal life. Especially since Faith is misinterpreting what's going on already.

Holden: Is she?

Lily: Yes, she is. What's going on between you and I has nothing to do with Dusty, and we both know that. And I don't want to give Faith anymore ammunition.

Holden: All right, you know what? Whatever. Whatever. I'm done trying to explain you to our children. So now, it's up to you. It's up to you if you want to make them understand. Or not.

Noah: Well I just have to say, your friends are really lucky people.

Dusty: Don't say that in public. People might question your judgment. And why don't you get out of here and study? 'Cause my friends don't fail classes or anything else.

Noah: Okay, I'll -- I'll keep that in mind.

Dusty: Okay, Buddy.

[Cell phone ringing]

Lily: Hey, Dusty, how's it going?

Dusty: How are you doing?

Lily: Just fine.

Dusty: Why do you try to lie? You're not good at it.

Lily: You're right. Why do I bother?

Dusty: How bad is it?

Lily: On a scale of one to ten, ten being horrific? It's a 15.

Dusty: Anything I can do to make it better?

Lily: I wish you could.

Dusty: Why don't you come over to my suite later? I still have some croissants. We can celebrate.

Lily: I'll see what I can do. It's not like anyone else wants to see me.

Dusty: That's their loss.

Brad: No lies, I promise. Whatever kind of relationship you want is fine with me. If it's friendship, great. If it's something more, better.

Katie: Brad, there is no more. There's never gonna be anymore.

Brad: Okay. Okay, okay! I can -- okay! I accept that.

Katie: Okay.

Brad: I'll back off.

Katie: Great.

Brad: Until you're ready.

Jack: Have you completely lost your mind?

Carly: Now that's the one thing I haven't lost. Kit and I are in the same position, Jack. We both need a second chance.

Jack: Oh, you are way past the second chance stage, Carly, and as for Kit, I'm not really sure, but I don't think the numbers go up high enough for how many times she's screwed up in her life.

Carly: What's the limit, Jack? How many times is a person allowed to screw up before you write it off?

Jack: I left Katie -- again -- because I thought my family was in trouble. No more. Here's how we're gonna play this, okay? If you associate yourself with that woman, if you ride in an elevator with her, much less go into business with her, I will consider that a threat to my children.

Carly: "Our" children.

Jack: Not if that woman's in your life. I promise you, I'll get sole custody of those kids and prevent you from ever seeing them ever again.

Katie: What part of "never" don't you understand?

Brad: The part that you don't mean.

Katie: I have been in one failed relationship after the other, and frankly, I am tired of it. I need to take some time to just take care of myself, period.

Brad: I get that you feel that now. But things change.

Katie: No -- yeah, they do, but not where you're concerned. You're Jack's brother, and you always will be.

Brad: That's not my fault.

Katie: I know it's not, but it's a fact. So if you really just want to give me what I need, get over me.

Kit: Excuse me, do you know where the closest bank is?

Man: Uh yeah, there's one up two blocks on the right. You can't miss it.

Kit: Okay, thanks. [Cell phone ringing] Hello?

Carly: Kit! Oh, thank God I caught you. Listen, um, you were right when you said that we were making a big mistake.

Kit: Hello? Carly? I can't hear a word you're saying. We must be in a dead zone. Call me back later.

Carly: Kit! Please don't hang up on me, Kit! Jack's going to take my kids! Kit!

On the next -- "As the World Turns,"

Chris: The best part is, we can move in next week.

Emily: I don't want to.

Dusty: You're not sorry. Not yet, but you will be.

Brad: Skating, that could be fun.

Katie: You're not invited.

Brad: Mayday, mayday!

Jack: Oh, hey, Brad, watch yourself. Watch yourself.

Proprietor: Somebody, stop those thieves!

Carly: Sage!
