Clerk: Morning, Mr. Snyder. What can I do for you?
Holden: Morning. I'm looking for -- for Lily. Is she in this morning?
Holden: Do you know where I could find her?
Noah: Come on, Luke, concentrate.
Luke: I don't feel anything. I probably never did.
Noah: That's bull. I was right here.
Luke: Well, maybe it's like when somebody gets their leg cut off and they can still feel it. Maybe my mind was just playing tricks on me because I wanted it so badly.
Noah: Or not.
Luke: Just stop it.
Noah: Make me. Hey, are you giving up? Hey, that's pathetic.
Luke: Look, if you don't want to watch it, then just get out. I don't need you here. I don't even want you here.
Noah: Well, I don't care. 'Cause you're not going to be in that wheelchair for the rest of your life if I have anything to say about it. So if you want me out of here, you better get up out of that chair and throw me out the door.
Luke: Look, I don't want to do this anymore.
Noah: I don't want a boyfriend who's terminally depressed.
Holden: Late night, Lily?
Lily: I could be tactful and lie, but since you're so big on honesty these days, I did spend the night here. With Dusty.
Craig: Rise and shine, Wife. Come on, there's worlds waiting for us to conquer. Come here, come here.
Meg: Okay, don't, don't, don't. I feel terrible.
Craig: Well, it's not still cramping, are you? I mean, we can't let anything happen to this baby.
Doctor: I'm sorry. Even at this early stage, the test is 100% accurate on ruling out who can't be the father.
Meg: I was so sure that Paul -- Craig can't be the father -- he can't.
Meg: The baby's fine. I'm just in a lousy mood.
Craig: Well, that can be a very good quality in a mogul.
Meg: It's not funny, Craig. Leave me alone.
Craig: You know, this is probably just the hormones talking here.
Meg: Will you stop with the hormones?
Craig: Whoa -- okay, not another word. You know what? I've got a meeting to go to. See you later.
Paul: Rosanna -- look, I'm right here. If you could just tell me what it is that's wrong, maybe I can help you fix it. I know you can hear me. So come back to me, okay? Follow my voice back to me the way you did before. Please wake up. [Cell phone rings] What?
Meg: I need to see you.
Paul: I can't leave Rosanna.
Meg: Has she regained consciousness?
Paul: She did for a minute, but then she relapsed.
Meg: She won't know if you're gone.
Paul: If she does wake up and I'm not here, she's going to panic.
Meg: It's about the baby.
Paul: What about it?
Meg: Meet me at Yo's. Now.
Eli: The sign on the door says authorized personnel. Oh. Mr. Montgomery. Is Meg with you?
Craig: No, no. She couldn't even get out of bed this morning, isn't that a shame? Anyway, I was wondering -- what the hell did you say to her that got her so upset?
Paul: Yo's before noon. It's come to this.
Meg: That's why I picked it. There's no way Craig will be here.
Paul: You said this was about the baby. What's going on?
Meg: You'll be happy to know that you were right all along. You're not the father. Craig is. I just -- I don't understand it. I was -- I was so sure. It felt right, like the way it felt when we were together at the cabin, like it was meant to be.
Paul: You knew it was a long shot.
Meg: No. No, I could tell. This baby was made out of love. I thought it was a sign.
Paul: Maybe it was a sign. Maybe the reason you married Craig was because you're supposed to have his child.
Meg: I just wanted it to be yours so badly.
Paul: I don't even know what to say to that.
Meg: The truth. That you wanted it, too.
Luke: So I'm your boyfriend now?
Noah: Yeah. You got a problem with that?
Luke: No. But I've got to admit, I didn't really know where things stood. I do kind of wish you came to this big realization before, you know, when we may actually have done something about it.
Noah: You know, for a writer, you have no imagination. [Cell phone rings] Hold that thought. Hello?
Dallas: Noah? This is Officer Griffin at the Oakdale PD.
Noah: Hello, Officer Griffin. What's up?
Dallas: Your father's being transferred to Statesville later today.
Noah: Okay. We're not exactly in touch these days.
Dallas: Yeah, I figured as much since you didn't show up for the sentencing. Look, we're holding him here for a few more hours before transport. Thought you might want to stop by and say good-bye.
Noah: No way. Thank you for the call, Officer, but I don't ever want to see my father again.
Luke: What was that about?
Noah: They're taking my father to prison today. Officer Griffin wanted to see if I wanted to go down and see him or something.
Luke: But you don't?
Noah: No. I've got nothing to say to him.
Luke: I think maybe you do.
Lily: I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to find out this way.
Holden: We're not together anymore, so you're free to spend your nights where you want.
Lily: I'm still your wife. And I love you. And I think you still love me. Or you wouldn't be here.
Holden: I didn't come by to check on you. I came by to give you this.
Lily: What is it?
Holden: The separation agreement. We're done, Lily. And if I didn't know it before, I sure as hell do now.
Luke: Just the mention of your father's name freaks you out.
Noah: He killed my mother. Anything would've been better than growing up with him.
Luke: Well then, you need to go tell him that. If you don't do this, you'll never be free of him.
Noah: He put you in that chair.
Luke: Because he's a coward. You are way stronger than he will ever be. Go see him. Look him in the eye and tell him that he can't hurt you anymore.
Paul: The truth -- of course I wanted to have a baby with you. Of course I thought about what it would be like to have a child with you. It was just a fantasy.
Meg: It doesn't have to be.
Paul: Meg, you're married -- to the scum of the earth. And now that you're expanding his gene pool, he is never going to let you out of his sight. You're his.
Meg: I don't belong to anybody.
Paul: My wife is lying in a hospital bed in a coma. And she needs me right now, even if you don't.
Meg: That's not true. Paul, come on, we were meant to be together. And if things were different, if this was your baby --
Paul: It's not.
Meg: That's not the point. You would've left Rosanna and I would've left Craig. We would be a family.
Paul: We've both made choices that now we have to live with. My life is with Rosanna now.
Craig: Why is she so upset? Did she get some kind of bad news about the baby? Some kind of bad test results?
Eli: Sir, there are certain laws that restrict --
Craig: This is my child we are talking about.
Eli: I'm sorry, I can't violate doctor-patient confidentiality.
Craig: Okay, Eli. I'll see you that, and I'll raise you an offer you can't refuse.
Meg: So that's it? A simple DNA test and we're done?
Paul: It's all messed up. We messed up. We move on. Look, even if that were my child, I couldn't do it. I couldn't abandon Rosanna, not right now.
Meg: I just want things to be the way they were before I was pregnant.
Paul: You need to let it go. We both do. We need to let each other go.
Meg: I can't do this.
Paul: It's already done. Hey, hey, hey. Take care of that little baby, okay? And try and be happy.
Craig: Meg's corporation is funding a cutting edge research study right here at Oakdale Memorial. It's biotech.
Craig: Yeah. Now I could talk to a few people, give them a good word, get you in to the ground floor. You interested?
Eli: Of course I am. But I can't betray Meg's confidence. We're friends.
Craig: Well okay, what if you could, you know, technically, keep your word, but accidentally, since you're sort of the nutty lab-tech guy you are, you leave something around -- you assume that it's secure, seeing as the door says "Authorized personnel only" --
Eli: Sorry. I wish I could help, but I need to get back to my lab. Don't touch anything, Mr. Montgomery.
Craig: Oh, thank you, Eli.
Lily: "Whereas irreconcilable differences have arisen in the marriage of the parties with no chance of resolution." Is that what you really believe? [Cell phone rings] Please don't answer that. This is our future we're talking about.
Holden: It's Luke. Hello?
Luke: Dad, I need your help. How soon can you get here?
Holden: A few minutes. What's wrong?
Lily: Is he hurt?
Holden: He said he needed help and then he hung up. You know what, I need to get over there.
Lily: I'm gonna go with you.
Col. Mayer: Noah. Son. Sorry about these ridiculous -- I'm glad you came.
Noah: I almost didn't. I wasn't sure I wanted to see you.
Col. Mayer: Sit. Noah, sit down. We need to talk.
Noah: No. I came here to tell you what I think of you. And that's it.
Col. Mayer: No, listen. It doesn't matter what you think, because --
Noah: This was a mistake.
Col. Mayer: No, listen to me. Let me finish, damn it! The only things that matter are actions. That you live a good, clean life.
Noah: Like you?
Col. Mayer: I did what was right, Noah. You were headed down a twisted path, and I tried to save you from it. It doesn't matter what you think of my methods. That boy is a deviant, and he tried to make you as sick as he is.
Luke: You talking about me, Colonel Mayer?
Lily: Winston Mayer is pure evil. And Luke is so fragile. Maybe we should just go in there. Come on, please?
Holden: No, no, no. Let Luke and Noah handle this.
Noah: What are you doing here?
Luke: You shouldn't have to do this alone. If we're together, then this is our battle.
Col. Mayer: Noah, get him the hell out of here.
Noah: No. Luke -- Luke is staying.
Col. Mayer: You stay away from my son.
Emma: Hey, Sweetheart. I've been thinking about you.
Meg: That smells really good.
Emma: What is it? What's the matter? Have you been crying? What's wrong? Here -- come on, Sweetheart, sit down. I'll make you some tea.
Meg: No, no. I don't think I could keep anything down.
Emma: Well then, let me make you a nice little cup if ginger tea. It'll make you feel better, settle your stomach.
Meg: No, ginger's not going to do it this time, Mama.
Emma: Did something happen?
Meg: I got the results back from the DNA test.
Meg: Craig's the father.
Meg: I was so sure it was Paul. How could I be so wrong about something so huge?
Emma: Oh, Sweetheart. It's because your heart wanted it so badly.
Meg: You know, if it was Paul, I would know what to do. I wouldn't think twice about --
Emma: Leaving Craig?
Meg: And Rosanna's so ill now. You know Paul's never going to leave her. He's too loyal. We missed our chance. Just missed it. We threw it away.
Emma: Look, if you want to move back here, anytime, you know you can do that if you need time to think.
Meg: No. No, I know what I have to do. My future is with Craig. And the sooner I go back home and start being -- really being his wife, the better it will be when the baby's born.
Emma: Oh, Sweetheart, do you really think that you can spend the rest of your life with a man that you don't love?
Craig: A DNA test? Why -- "Husband is definitively indicated as the father of child Montgomery." Okay. Well, I knew that. Okay. "Other shares no genetic markers and could not" -- who the hell is other? Ryan. Paul Ryan.
Rosanna: Something's wrong? Paul, what is it?
Meg: What are you doing home? I thought you had a business meeting.
Craig: It ended. I came home to try to cheer you up, seeing as you were so upset, you couldn't get out of bed.
Meg: Well, I felt better, so I went for a walk. You know, you don't need to worry about me. I just needed a little space to --
Craig: To get a DNA test?
Craig: You heard me.
Meg: How do you know about that?
Craig: Why shouldn't I know about that? I am the father, right?
Meg: Of course you are.
Craig: Well, I'm confused, Meg. If you are so sure, why would you need a paternity test?
Meg: It's called a CVS test. And it's used to detect --
Craig: Do not insult my intelligence! You weren't sure I was the father, which means --
Meg: I slept with somebody else. Feel better now?
Meg: You know who.
Craig: Say it.
Meg: Paul. I slept with Paul.
Meg: You want to hit me, Craig? Will that make it better?
Craig: What kind of a man do you think I am?
Meg: You tell me.
Craig: You said that it was over with Paul.
Meg: It is. Now.
Craig: Oh, now! Now it is? How many times? Huh? Is that where you've been running off to all this time? You run into Paul Ryan's bed?
Meg: No! It was just once. One time. And I just needed to know for sure about the baby. And I thought about telling you, but once the test results came in, I didn't think there was a need to. I don't want to hurt you, Craig.
Craig: Then why did you cheat on me to begin with? And when we were making love, was that a lie?
Craig: I trusted you, Meg. I let my guard down. And that is not easy for me to do.
Meg: I'm sorry.
Craig: Start talking. I want to know everything. Where, when, how. And don't even think about lying to me.
Paul: You're awake.
Rosanna: What's wrong?
Paul: When you drift off like that, you know, I can't help but think that --
Rosanna: -- That I might not wake up again?
Paul: I need you. I know you need me, but I need you, Rosanna. Much, much more.
Col. Mayer: This boy has you all confused, Noah. Why can't you see that?
Noah: When I'm with Luke, it's the only time I'm not confused. He doesn't lie to me.
Col. Mayer: I wanted what's best for you. Everything I've ever done has been for you.
Noah: Killing my mother?
Col. Mayer: It needed to be done for your sake, Noah. You're a fine young man. Don't throw away your life on a piece of trash like this the way I did.
Noah: Luke is not a piece of trash!
Col. Mayer: What he does is a sin!
Luke: Oh yeah, were you talking about sin when you grabbed a gun and tried to kill me?
Col. Mayer: Noah, I sacrificed everything to save you from this --
Luke: Oh, you know what, that is enough! Noah and I are together. And you have to accept that.
Col. Mayer: I am not going to sit here and listen to a pervert lecture me about morality.
Noah: Stop calling Luke names.
Col. Mayer: Noah, he has you under some kind of spell. But it's not too late. You don't have to end up like this. I won't let him destroy you.
Luke: That is the opposite of what I'm doing! I love your son. And we're together. And we are not afraid to let the world see that. You talk about what's right? This is right. Me and Noah together. And you locked up in a prison where you belong.
Col. Mayer: Damn you! Damn you to hell!
Col. Mayer: I'll kill you!
Noah: Get away from him!
Col. Mayer: Damn you!
Dallas: Get off him! Get off him!
Noah: Luke, you're standing.
Meg: That day I got hit on the head --
Craig: That day you made up a story about walking in the woods.
Meg: I was in the woods. I went to Paulís cabin. And he found me there.
Craig: He found you. Found you there. What, do you have some kind of psychic love connection?
Meg: You're making this harder.
Craig: I have every right to.
Meg: Okay. Okay. Yeah, Paul and I are connected. The same way you and Sierra were.
Craig: Cut the cheesy romance, Meg. Let's get right to the sex.
Meg: Paul and I first fell in love in that cabin, and being back there --
Craig: It just overwhelmed you. You got swept away.
Meg: If you know exactly what happened, why do you need me to say it?
Craig: Maybe I am a masochist.
Meg: Paul and I slept together at the cabin. And that's all it would have been, until I found out that I was pregnant.
Craig: And all that talk about having a baby with me, what was that? Just playacting?
Meg: I'm not that good of a liar.
Craig: Don't underestimate yourself.
Meg: It's over, Craig. It will never happen again. I'm your wife. I want us to be together. Do you still want that?
Craig: And if it had been Paulís baby, would you have left me?
Meg: What do you want me to say?
Craig: So the answer to that is yes.
Meg: I don't know. All right? I don't know. All I know is this is our baby. And I want us to be a family. Can you forgive me? Do you think you could forgive me? Do you think you could do that -- give me second chance?
Paul: I guess I'm getting kicked out for a little while. I'll be right outside, okay? I promise.
Mom: Did you hear the doctor, Sweetie? You gained a whole pound.
Dad: You're growing like a weed. The NBA has already got you on its radar.
Mom: He can play for the Bulls after he graduates Harvard.
Meg: I want us to raise this child together. And it's not because of the money or Montgomery Enterprises or anything. I think you could be a good father.
Craig: Oh, yeah. That was good. What would make you say that?
Meg: Because I know who you can really be when nobody else is looking.
Craig: How can I ever believe anything you ever say?
Meg: I guess you're going to have to trust me.
Craig: That, my love, is the one thing I cannot do.
Meg: I deserve that. Excuse me.
[Cell phone beeps]
Paul: "Meet me under the bridge. Urgent. Meg."
Lily: So you were fighting with the Colonel and you just stood up?
Luke: Yeah. I mean, I guess I was just so angry that I forgot that I was in this chair.
Noah: Yeah, that's the first good thing my father's done in a long time.
Luke: We don't all lie to get what we want. [Phone beeps] Is that you, Mom?
Lily: Yeah. Oh, I gotta get back to work.
Holden: You, Guys, ready to go?
Noah: Mr. Snyder, if it's okay with you, I could drive Luke home.
Holden: Yeah. Yeah, sure. You know what, I'm going to call your doc. Give him the good news.
Noah: Ready? Major McLane?
Maj. McLane: Hello, Noah. It's good to see you. It's been a long time.
Noah: Yeah. This is my -- Luke Snyder.
Maj. McLane: Gerard McLane. I knew Noah back when his father was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood.
Noah: What are you doing here?
Maj. McLane: I heard the news. I wanted to see you.
Noah: Why? I mean, I would think that the army wouldn't want to have anything to do with anyone named Mayer ever again.
Maj. McLane: On the contrary. Your father served with great courage. Private demons notwithstanding, Colonel Mayer was a hero.
Noah: Yeah, well, not to me.
Maj. McLane: I agree. He caused you and your friend here a lot of suffering. And that's unforgivable. And Noah, there's nothing wrong with being who you are, Son. At least, that's just my opinion. I wanted to see you and wanted you to understand that.
Noah: Thank you.
Maj. McLane: Didn't expect that, did you?
Noah: No, sir, I didn't.
Maj. McLane: The army takes care of its own. And we'll help you in any way we can.
Luke: As long as he doesn't want to join up.
Maj. McLane: You never know. Things change. Just remember, you're not alone, Son. You've still got friends at Ft. Leonard Wood.
Noah: I appreciate that. Thank you, Sir. But right now, I've never felt less alone in my life.
Holden: I can't believe that Luke stood up.
Lily: I know. It was Noah. I think Luke is in love with Noah. Luke and Noah. Wow.
Holden: You okay with that?
Lily: I am. I really am okay. Luke and Noah. Luke is in love with another boy, and the two of us are -- just when you think you can't be surprised.
Holden: Hey, don't sell yourself short. You were the one who insisted that Noah come back into Luke's life. Luke fought it, but you did that thing that you do --
Lily: What, that pushy thing?
Holden: Mother's intuition.
Lily: I have a lot to make up for with Luke. But you picked up the slack. Luke, Faith, Natalie, Ethan -- we're the strongest when we're together.
Holden: Lily --
Lily: Okay, I know. But we had a miracle today. We have to be thankful for that.
Lily: There's just one more thing. What are we going to do about Thanksgiving?
Rosanna: Where's Paul?
Nurse: Oh, he's right outside if you want me to get him.
Nurse: Prince Charming must've stepped away.
Rosanna: He's supposed to be here. He said that he would be here. Would you please find him? You've got to find him for me. Please.
Paul: Where's Meg?
Craig: I assume she's back at the hotel.
Paul: I --
Craig: You thought that she wanted to come meet you? No, that was me. I borrowed her phone and you took the bait. Just like you did at the cliff. You really make this too easy, Ryan.
Paul: We have nothing to talk about.
Craig: How about the fact that you slept with my wife?
Emma: Meg? What happened? Did you forget something?
Meg: I can't stay at the hotel.
Emma: Why not?
Meg: Craig found out I slept with Paul. I don't know what he's going to do, Mama.
Paul: If you have an issue with your wife, you should speak with her.
Craig: I could kill you for touching her.
Paul: Yeah, I know the feeling.
Craig: We are alone. No one knows we're here. No one would hear you. And if I wanted to, I could make you disappear. This time, for good.
Paul: Don't make idle threats, Craig. Unless you miss prison.
Craig: I'm not going to kill you today, Paul. But you mark my words, if you go near my wife again, you will regret it.
Paul: You can have her. I don't want Meg. She wants me. She came to me. She begged me to take her back. She wanted that baby to be mine, not yours. When she found out the truth, Craig, she was heartbroken.
Craig: She came home to me.
Paul: Yes, Craig, 'cause you're the default daddy. But you will never be anything but second choice. No matter what you do, Meg will never love you.
Holden: Well, I just assumed that you'd come to the farm for Thanksgiving. We don't want the kids thinking that we can't co-exist in the same place. So why don't you come out? It wouldn't be the same without you.
Clerk: Excuse me, someone left these for you.
Lily: Oh. Oh, they're beautiful. Who are they from? Charles?
Clerk: They're from Mr. Donovan.
Noah: Officer Griffin. May I talk to my father?
Col. Mayer: You've said enough.
Noah: Are you kidding? I let you shut me up my whole life. You're going to hear me now.
Col. Mayer: Let's go.
Noah: You said everything you did was out of love for me. And I believed that. I blamed myself for all the horrible things you did because I thought you were just trying to cover up my mistakes. That's not love. That's control. You wanted to control me and my mother so you wouldn't be ashamed of us, but we were just being human.
Col. Mayer: Human. Is that what they call it these days?
Noah: I feel sorry for you. 'Cause you'll never know what love is. From now on, I'm going to be making my own choices. Doing what I want to do. Being with who I want to be with. And there's not a damn thing you can do about it.
Col. Mayer: Get me out of here.
Lily: I'm sorry.
Holden: No need. We're done here. Why don't you put those in water?
Lily: I'll see you at Thanksgiving.
Holden: Lily. You need to take a look at this papers. Have your lawyer take a look at them. We need to get this thing done.
Emma: Do you think that Craig could get violent with you?
Meg: No, no. Never. He loves me. And he wants this child. But he has this monumental pride, and the fact that I slept with Paul, of all people --
Emma: Well, he's humiliated. You know, Sweetheart, he will calm down. I know it.
Meg: No, no, no. No, Mama, he won't. I ruined everything this time. I don't think Craig will ever forgive me.
Paul: No matter what you do, Meg will never love you.
Nurse: When she woke up and you weren't here, she panicked.
Paul: I should never have left her side. Where's Dr. Cutler? Is Dr. Cutler coming?
Nurse: Yes, and he said not to worry.
Paul: That's a dumb thing to say. Why did he -- I'm sorry, it's not your fault. It's just -- I shouldn't have left her side. Do you think I could be alone with my wife?
Paul: I am so sorry. I am so sorry. Please, come back to me, please. If you come back to me, I will never leave your side again. Never. I need you, Rosanna. I need you. You are the only thing that will ever save me. Please, don't leave me alone.
Paul: Don't you ever, ever leave me alone again.
On the next "As the World Turns" --
Holden: Do you have plans later?
Meg: Make us a family.
Brad: What can I do to make things better?
Katie: How about this?
Carly: Well, I want you to go ahead and hate me as much as you want, as long as you stop being so mad at Brad.
Brad: I'm a jerk. So sue me.
