Luke: So, we're on the same page. We're going to deal with reality.
Luke: Like the reality that I might be in this chair for the rest of my life.
Luke: Like the reality that this could be as good as it gets.
Luke: So what are you expecting? Like a miracle? Some nice, reality-based miracle?
Noah: You seem to think that I'm not being realistic for having any hope at all. You get mad every time I -- or somebody else doesn't accept that this is a done deal.
Luke: That's really easy for you to say. You can walk.
Noah: Damn it. No. No, it's not going to work anymore.
Holden: Lily, stop. What's going on out there is private.
Lily: No, I know. You're right. You're right. I'm going to go to Al's, and get some takeout.
Holden: Okay, fine. You know what I'll do? I'll go out to the barn --
Lily: No. Why don't you come with me? It might be good for Luke to see that even though we're separated, we stand together on the important things.
Holden: You're right.
Lily: Oh, it's been a long time since I've been right. Noah's really trying. I hope he can get through to Luke.
Holden: Yeah, well, he's got his work cut out for him.
Lily: I suddenly have a craving for a burger. You guys want something?
Luke: I'm good.
Noah: No, thank you.
Holden: Hey, Noah, why don't you hang out until we get back?
Noah: Yeah, no problem. I've got all the time in the world.
Lily: Okay. We'll be back.
Luke: That was subtle.
Noah: Oh, how dare they try and help. Try to make you feel better.
Luke: Look, Noah, I know you're trying to help. But you don't need to be my personal stand in. You can just go.
Noah: Okay, Luke, you are seriously ticking me off!
Iris: Hey, quit shoving me around -- whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa -- this is very classy. You know, maybe I should get me one of these.
Barbara: Shut up and listen!
Iris: Hey, dial it down a notch, Lady. I'm a person, too, you know.
Barbara: You're a person who's selling her grandchild. You know, my fear is that you and that son of yours are under the delusion that you're smart.
Iris: Excuse me?
Barbara: Well, you're not! I can and will make your lives miserable if you don't live up to your end of the bargain.
Iris: Don't worry. You're going to get the kid.
Barbara: That's not the whole deal though is it? Will and Gwen get the baby. You and your son -- get gone. Permanently.
Rosanna: You know, you didn't really have to do this.
Gwen: Oh, well, actually I meant to bring it by the other day. I mean, I remember what it's like being a newlywed. You know, just starting out, barely -- clearly barely scraping by --
Rosanna: Thank you. It's good to hear you joke again.
Gwen: I -- I hope I wasn't a total downer at the wedding.
Rosanna: No. No, Gwen, if anybody understands what you're going through, it's me.
Gwen: Hey, you just got married. We should have something fun to talk about.
Rosanna: You don't have to pretend. I mean, I do understand. I know how hard it is.
Gwen: The hard part for me is Will. How -- I mean, how about Paul? Does -- does he still want to be a father?
Meg: You do know, don't you, that all this hovering is making me want to scream?
Craig: I'm an expectant father. It's part of the job description.
Meg: Okay, I'm not going. I am not going to be the only pregnant woman at the gym who's husband is making sure she doesn't yoga too hard.
Craig: Would you like me to back off?
Meg: I would love for you to back off.
Craig: Okay. Why don't you go prenatally yoga and I will go preliminary interview the med-tech guy.
Meg: Wait, I wanted to talk to him.
Craig: Yeah, but if he meets the CEO of the company right off the bat -- hey! Hey, excuse me! Hey, Buddy, excuse! What? You're not going to say, "I'm sorry" to the pregnant woman you almost knocked over?
Meg: Hey, you know what? There's an outpost in Antarctica. There's a man there who counts penguins. I'm sure he doesn't know that I'm pregnant.
Craig: I'll get right on it.
Meg: Go! Please, please, leave me alone!
Craig: Your slightest wish. Call me if you need anything. You do have your cell phone.
Meg: I always have my cell phone.
Meg: If that test proves this baby is yours, do you think it's going to be any easier to leave Rosanna after you're married? I know you, Paul. You won't be able to turn your back on your own child. Or me.
Gwen: I'm sorry. I had no right to ask that.
Rosanna: No, it's fine. It's just -- babies. Tough topic for both of us.
[Cell phone ringing]
Rosanna: Excuse me a minute. I'm sorry.
Rosanna: It's business -- I'm sorry. I have to take it.
Gwen: No, it's no problem.
Rosanna: Thank you. Yes?
Fellows: I have Mrs. Montgomery's cell phone. You still want me to plant the chip?
Rosanna: Why wouldn't I?
Fellows: Um, invading her privacy? Breaking the law?
Rosanna: Just do what you're told.
Cole: I know I hurt Sofie. I can't start to fix that unless I know where she is.
Aaron: If you want to pay back what you owe her, I'll forward it to her. Yeah, I didn't think so.
Cole: So, I don't have money. That doesn't mean she doesn't need me.
Aaron: You could win the lottery, Cole, and she still wouldn't need you.
Cole: So, you make all her decisions for her. You call the shots. One question. Did you ever bother to tell her that?
Aaron: Damn it.
Gwen: I'm sorry. I really -- I didn't mean to take up your whole day.
Rosanna: No, no, no, I'm glad you're here. Because there's something that I would like to say to you, and um, I'd like to say it right. Um, I remember -- wanting a baby so badly. And Carly being so dear, and so sweet, but she didn't understand. Not really.
Gwen: And you do.
Rosanna: Well, I -- I feel I do, and I would like to be here for you if you would let me. Especially after everything that you have done for me.
Gwen: It's just really hard that if Will and I are going to have a baby, then some poor girl is going -- I know she's going to have to make this really awful decision.
Rosanna: And you know how that feels.
Gwen: Well, yeah, I was that girl.
[Cell phone ringing]
Aaron: Hey, I had the number from the time you called before. You know, the time you said it wasn't your phone.
Sofie: I'm sorry.
Aaron: No, don't be. Don't be. I'm glad I found you. Listen, I just wanted to warn you about something. Cole's back.
Sofie: You saw him?
Aaron: I talked to him. He's looking for you. Just thought you wanted to know.
Sofie: He was looking for me? What did he say?
Aaron: Listen, don't -- don't be scared. I didn't tell him anything.
Sofie: But what did he say? Why did he want to see me?
Aaron: He gave me some line about feeling bad because he didn't come through for you.
Sofie: He was sorry.
Aaron: Well, he was feeding me a line. But, listen, I wasn't even going to tell you this, but I don't want to be like, you know, making decisions for you.
Sofie: I'm glad you told me. Because I really think I should talk to him.
Iris: You got a hell of a lot of nerve lady.
Barbara: And money. And if you want any more of that money, you'll do exactly as youíre told.
Iris: So, you're telling me, that I can't see my grandkid?
Barbara: Oh, you can be a grandmother. You can send cookies from Australia. Because if you want any more of that money to just keep on rolling in, you and that reptilian son of yours will get out of town -- permanently.
Iris: You know, when it comes to sons, you don't got any place to talk, do you?
Barbara: That baby is the only thing of value that either one of you has. And if either of you tries to mess up this deal, if either of you thinks you can stick around a little bit longer to squeeze a little bit more out of me, you'll see what it's like to deal with someone who has nothing left to lose. Got it?
Aaron: Sofie, please think about this. Okay? Think about what he's done.
Sofie: But I have to think about my baby. And he's the father.
Aaron: A father doesn't run away. Okay? A father doesn't steal.
Sofie: I know all the things he's done, okay? But, Aaron, I'm so lonely. And I'm so afraid that when the baby comes I'll be all alone.
Aaron: Give me your address.
Aaron: I'm coming to see you. Give me your address.
Sofie: You don't have to do that.
Aaron: I want to.
Sofie: Thank you. I'm um -- I'm in Rogers Park. 7180 North Kedzie.
Aaron: All right got it. I'll be there right away.
Sofie: Aaron. Thank you.
Aaron: No problem.
Noah: Do you know how tired I am of you telling me how I feel?
Luke: You know what? You want to move in with Maddie. You think your father's changed. You think you're straight -- you need someone to tell you how you feel.
Noah: Yeah, and I found him. Okay, you made me see a lot of things that I didn't see. That I didn't want to see. I was man enough to see that you were right. Now it's your turn.
Luke: Look, Noah, I know you think that you're doing the right thing staying by me and helping me through this, but I don't want to have to tell you what that means. I don't want to have to tell you that -- I can't go to the bathroom by myself. I don't want to have to tell you that --
Noah: Luke, I couldn't admit that I was gay. I couldn't say that I cared about another guy. Things change, Luke. I'm living proof of that.
Lucinda: Hey, what 'cha lookin' for, your lost innocence?
Meg: Leave me alone, go away.
Lucinda: And how's marriage? Are you still happy to see his shoes under your bed?
Meg: Please go away?
Lucinda: What are you looking for, Meg?
Meg: My phone.
Lucinda: Well, Darling, take mine. Use it. Dial yourself, see how it works. Go ahead.
Meg: Thank you.
Lucinda: I tease you because --
Meg: You care?
Lucinda: No, I tease you because I thought you wouldn't want to know how sorry I feel for you.
Meg: What a great day I'm having. Hello? Yeah, my name is Meg Snyder.
Lucinda: Ah, Montgomery, Darling. Montgomery, loud and clear.
Meg: I think you have my phone.
Fellows: Glad you called. I found it at Old Town.
Meg: Yeah, I must've dropped it.
Fellows: Well, I'm staying at the Lakeview. I'm on my way out, so I'll just leave it with the desk clerk.
Meg: Thank you so much, Mister --
Fellows: A Mrs. Meg Montgomery is going to be picking this up later on.
Meg: Thank you.
Lucinda: You're very, very welcome, and I'm sorry, I'm sorry if I sounded harsh sometimes I can't help myself.
Lucinda: I promised, I swore to myself the next time I ran into you I was going to be filled with sincere, sincere congratulations.
Meg: Craig told you about the baby?
Lucinda: The baby? You're procreating with that man?
Meg: You didn't know. Damn it.
Lucinda: And I thought I was sorry for you before.
Craig: Let's see. Have a seat. Top honors, biochemistry, Columbia University. Cutting edge research, entrepreneurial spirit.
Craig: Don't thank me, you did the work. Matter of fact, I like everything that I see here, except, we do have one problem, big problem.
Craig: Yeah, it's right here at the top, too. Evan Walsh IV. Do you really think I'm gonna let Lucindaís grandson come right into the chicken coop?
Lucinda: You're having a baby with that man? You must've lost your mind.
Margo: What, what, what's going on, Lucinda?
Lucinda: Oh, heavens. Here comes the cavalry, someone in the family to rescue her honor.
Margo: What are you talking about? Meg, are you all right?
Lucinda: How can she be all right? She's having Rosemary's baby.
Evan: Actually, I'm Lucindaís step-grandson. Not a blood relation.
Craig: But your father and your aunt, they are your blood.
Evan: Yeah, but I don't really deal with them very much.
Craig: Well, you should. They're interesting people. I watched them take this company from Lucinda. It wasn't pretty.
Evan: And apparently you were taking notes.
Craig: So you know what happened? How my wife sits in this chair when I donít.
Evan: Business is not my field of interest or expertise. I want to do medical research. I have no desire to run a corporation, yours or anyone elseís.
Craig: And I should just trust you.
Evan: I'm pretty sure that even when your wife is sitting in that chair, you're not very far away. Do you really think that some kid just out of school could get this corporation away from you?
Evan: Neither do I, and my research could help a hell of a lot of people and it could make you, a hell of a lot of money.
Margo: Hey, Lucinda, why don't you just go brighten someone else's day?
Lucinda: Right, Officer, I'll move along. You realize, don't you, that you're tying yourself to him forever.
Margo: Wow, more fun than monkeys on skates. Whoa, whoa, oh.
Meg: I'm sorry, I'm suddenly not feeling too well.
Luke: Do you have any idea how mad I am? This whole summer -- even before you came -- I felt like my life was finally going to get started, you know, that anything was possible. I don't feel that way now.
Noah: I know you don't, but --
Luke: Look, Noah, if you stay with me, all it's gonna be is closed doors. And even if they're open, my chair can't fit through them.
Noah: Hey, let me try and put this in terms you understand. Snyder -- you're full of it.
Lily: Well, life is very interesting, isn't it? Here we are, killing time, while our son works things out with his boyfriend.
Holden: Yeah, they're just kids. Such grown-up problems.
Lily: Yes, but they're talking, which is good. It's because you convinced Luke to see Noah.
Holden: No, I think that was you. I liked the way you let him have it.
Lily: Good cop, bad cop.
Lily: Holden, can't you see that we're a good team? I know we have problems, I know we have big problems, but for Luke's sake -- no, for my sake, can't you think about all the things that we have that are good?
Noah: You keep talking about feeling like your life is just starting. When I came here, I was as closed down as a person could be. I wasn't going to go to the school I wanted to, I couldn't study what I wanted to, and I sure couldn't be gay, or happy. The best I could do was stay in a really, really small place that was acceptable to my father.
Luke: I know that. And I don't want to put you in a different place --
Noah: I know this sucks. Yet the truth? Yeah, I would rather be bumming around Europe with you. Right now, I'd settle for a walk down to Snyder pond. You're trying to make me somebody who walks away from someone, from something that --
Luke: Look, Noah, its okay. You don't have to say it.
Noah: You're right, because you already know exactly what I'm gonna say.
Rosanna: You know, Gwen, because you went through it, I know you really empathize with that girl out there -- but perhaps you could concentrate a little bit more on the baby, and how you and Will could give him or her a home and a good family.
Gwen: But what about that poor girl. I mean is it just her tough luck then?
Rosanna: No, well, you know, not every pregnant girl wants to be a mother. Adopting that child could be the best thing for all concerned.
Gwen: Well, I could tell myself that, but the truth is is that giving up my baby was the biggest mistake that I ever made.
Sofie: Oh, it is so good to see you, but, I mean, you really didn't have to come all this way.
Aaron: Ahh, yes I did. Okay, I don't want you feeling alone, because you're not.
Sofie: I just get down sometimes.
Aaron: Yes, I get that, okay? It all makes sense, but you can't let that -- Sofie, you can't go back to Cole, okay? You just cannot go back to Cole.
Cole: Why don't you let Sofie make up her own mind on that?
Aaron: You followed me?
Cole: You think?
Aaron: Well she doesn't want to see you.
Cole: No, you don't want me to see her. Hey, Baby. I'm sorry. Can you ever forgive me?
Sofie: I --
Cole: Look at you, Sofie, its cold out here.
Sofie: I'm fine. Really I --.
Cole: You're prettier than ever. I know that much.
Aaron: You can't trust him. You know you can't trust him.
Cole: Okay, like, I don't get why any of this is his business. All I want is a chance to talk, just to talk, to the mother of my kid. All you have to do, Sofie, is tell me to go, and I am out of here. But that's up to you, not him.
Gwen: I'm scared.
Rosanna: Of what?
Gwen: Well, I mean, when I -- you should have seen Will when I was pregnant. I don't think that he really lets himself even remember how much he wanted that. I mean, don't you think that all -- all men want their own child?
Meg: And if we find out I'm carrying our child, nothing's going to matter except you, and me, and the family we could have together.
Rosanna: No. No, and you can't allow yourself to think that.
Cole: You know what? I get it. Too little, too late. Who can blame you?
Cole: Thank you.
Aaron: Sofie --
Sofie: Aaron, I have to. He's the father.
Aaron: Yeah. Well then take care.
Sofie: Aaron, please don't be mad at me!
Aaron: It's your life, Sofie.
Cole: He's wrong about me. Sofie, I swear to God, I'm not the guy who left you. I've changed.
Sofie: I could tell. I can see it in your eyes.
Cole: I know. You could always see more than anyone ever could. You see the real me.
Sofie: Oh, Cole.
Cole: I'm back, Baby.
Sofie: Oh, thank God. Thank God! And don't you ever leave again!
Cole: I wonít. But we have to talk about why I left. We have to talk about the baby.
Meg: I feel better.
Margo: Yeah you look like you got your color back there.
Meg: I'm sorry. I'm sure you have better things to do than watch someone try not to throw up.
Margo: You know, sometimes Lucinda makes me want to throw up and I'm not even pregnant.
Meg: Margo, um, please don't tell Craig about this. He's already --
Margo: I know, I know, he's so overprotective? And he's irritating. And he's controlling.
Meg: Well, you know your brother well.
Margo: Yeah I do. I know my brother.
Meg: I know he's happy. But it's just -- too much.
Margo: I know. I know. I'm not blind to my brother. I know of all the awful things that he's done in the past. But I also know that nobody loves theirs kids more than Craig. After losing Bryant, and then Lucy, and Johnny. You giving him this baby, it's kind of like you've given him his life back.
Evan: So, given the proper funding, certain diseases could be eradicated in less than three years.
Craig: So, say we give you the proper funding. What's the rate of return on proper funding?
Evan: Filings from the major pharmaceuticals. And they had a bad year. Only 18% profit.
Craig: Wow, they make a lot of money.
Lucinda: Oh, Craig, you're here. I thought you might be home. Knitting little booties?
Craig: Oh, Lucinda. You've heard our good news. You know what? I've got something for you, too. There's someone I would like you to meet. Lucinda Walsh. Evan Walsh IV.
Evan: Hi, Grammy. Thanks for the socks on my birthday.
Lucinda: His father thought he was funny, too.
Craig: You know, Evanís been doing some really terrific medical research. We're thinking about backing one of his projects.
Lucinda: We already have a nurse as CEO. Do we really need a boy scout doing research?
Craig: So, you're against it.
Craig: Walsh? Welcome to Montgomery Enterprises.
Waitress: And here's the bad news.
Lily: Oh, great, just what we need. More bad news.
Holden: Maybe things will be better when we get back. You do know that -- I don't hold anything against Noah.
Lily: No, I know that.
Holden: I just thought that --
Lily: Holden. Listen. When we found out that Luke was gay -- I thought I knew you inside and out, and you just stunned me. I was going crazy. And you just loved our son. If he has to go through this, which I hate that he does, he has you. That's the one thing that gives me comfort in all this. That he has you.
Holden: No. He has us. Let's go. You know, you say you think I'm a great father.
Lily: You are a great father.
Holden: I couldn't wait to get out of the house. That kid was driving me nuts, okay?
Lily: Well, congratulations. You're human.
Luke: You want to walk down to the pond. No. That means first -- I've got to stand.
Noah: You did good.
Luke: Are you kidding me? I did great.
Noah: You're going to do better tomorrow.
Luke: Yeah. I think so.
Lily: Hey, Guys. I know you said you weren't hungry, but we brought some food anyway.
Luke: You know what? I'm actually very tired. I should probably go to bed an conserve my energy for physical therapy tomorrow morning.
Noah: Sounds good. Luke, I'll see you tomorrow.
Luke: Yeah. See you tomorrow.
Lily: Noah, why don't you take this then? For you.
Noah: Actually, I am kind of hungry. See you tomorrow, Luke.
Luke: Later, Noah. Well, you two must be very, very pleased with yourself. Your master plan worked.
Lily: We do have our ways.
Holden: Why don't you get some rest?
Luke: All right. I'm going to try and get ready by myself though, okay?
Holden: All right.
Luke: And Dad? Sorry I was such a jerk. Now move or I'll hit you.
Holden: I'll check in on you later, okay?
Lily: This is a wonderful day.
Holden: Yes, yes it is wonderful. Look, he's changed, but things for us have not.
Lily: And you decide that for both of us?
Holden: No, just for me.
Lily: I just thought --
Holden: Yeah, yeah, well everything worked out for Luke, but that doesn't mean that you can sweep our problems under the rug.
Lily: I see.
Holden: No, I don't think that you do. Lily, I'm going to call Bonnie. And I'm going to have her draw up the separation papers.
Margo: Now, are you sure you don't want me to stay?
Meg: No, I really do feel better.
Margo: Okay. Hey, did you know that Craig and I don't always get along.
Margo: Yeah. A couple of times I've had to arrest him. I think he -- he resents me for that a little bit. But I do love him.
Meg: I know that.
Margo: And I'm not going to get all sentimental on you here, or anything, but I think that you and this baby are probably going to turn my brother into the man I always knew he could be. So, I got your back. Anything you need. Anything at all. Okay?
Meg: Thank you.
Margo: You don't have to thank me. Just going to name the kid after me, aren't you?
Meg: Hello? Hi, I'm one of Dr. Bullock's patients. I need to talk to him.
Cole: When I look into the future, I see us married with kids. I see you being a good mom. Our kids are going to be so happy.
Sofie: Our kids?
Cole: Sofie, when I'm with you, I feel like I'm going to be somebody. A man you could really be proud of.
Sofie: You already are.
Cole: But I'm thinking of the kid. He or she deserves a father way better than the one I could be right now -- what with me trying to start a music career.
Sofie: You can keep working on your music. I'll take care of the baby.
Cole: That's not what this little guy needs, Sofie. But it's up to you. I'm not ready for this. But if you are --
Sofie: Cole --
Cole: I'll leave. I'm serious. It'll kill me, but I'll leave if that's the only way you can have the life you really want.
Rosanna: I want you to promise me something.
Rosanna: I want you to focus on you and Will. Okay? If you can adopt a baby, I want you to think about what good parents you're going to be, and how lucky that baby will be to have you.
Gwen: I'll try.
Rosanna: Okay. And you know, that girl out there -- you don't know that she feels the same way you did. She might be thrilled that somebody wants to adopt her baby. And it might be a very good thing for her, too.
Sofie: Cole, the life I want is with you.
Cole: Baby, I was hoping you'd say that 'cause I need you.
Sofie: But this is our baby.
Cole: Sofie, there are people who can give this kid the world. We are not those people. I grew up with nothing. I don't want that for my own kid.
Sofie: I'll work.
Cole: This isn't about money. I don't give a damn about money. You know that. It's about us. We're not there yet. We're not who we could be. Please, Sofie, don't cry. Please, I can't stand you see cry.
Sofie: It's just -- to just give him away like that? I think it's going to be a boy. I want to name him Cole.
Cole: Wow. You are something. It looks like you made your choice. Be happy, Sofie. I mean that.
Sofie: No Ė
Lucinda: Oh, you're looking for himself? Well, he's in there. Finding new ways to bankrupt this poor, benighted company.
Craig: Hey! How are you? You're here, good. There's somebody I'd like you to meet. Evan Walsh IV, this is my wife, Meg Montgomery.
Meg: Hi. I am so impressed with your resume.
Craig: We were actually having a terrific talk -- well, we were, until Lucinda got here -- I do think we should move ahead on this.
Evan: Mrs. Montgomery --
Evan: It's already taken up a lot of your husband's time, so I'll let you talk to him. Here's my card. My Oakdale number is on the back, I'll look forward to having a chance to talk. Craig, nice meeting you.
Craig: And you. I -- I like him. I mean, he had Lucinda sputtering. And you got to respect that in a man.
Meg: Yeah, that's exactly what we're looking for in an employee.
Craig: Ah, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I know. Pregnant ladies shouldn't have to --
Meg: Craig! Craig, would you just shut up about the damned pregnancy!
Fellows: I thought you'd want to hear this right away. She made the call just a little while ago.
[He plays a recording of Meg talking with Dr. Bullock]
Meg: No, it's not an emergency, Dr. Bullock. I'm fine. It's just I need to know -- how long do I have to wait before I can get a paternity test on the baby.
Meg: I'm sorry. I'm not being fair.
Craig: I know that you are the one with the morning sickness. And I know that you're the one who's going to do all the heavy lifting, and I'm the one who's left with all the joy. But I will do anything that you ask me to do. I promise. I just -- I don't think I can stop talking about this baby, Meg. Our baby.
Rosanna: Step up the surveillance. I want to know everything, and I mean everything about this paternity test. When, where, and especially who the technician is --
Fellows: Got it.
Rosanna: And of course I will need to know the results.
Iris: Where the hell have you been? What's going on?
Cole: Hold your stupid horses. I just got done talking to Sofie.
Iris: Yeah. She's giving up the kid, right?
Cole: Yeah. She just doesn't know it yet.
Iris: You know that Ryan woman? It's no accident that her son was in the loony bin all right? That broad is many, many sandwiches short of a picnic here.
Cole: Okay, I don't have time for this.
Iris: Right, you listen. And you make time all right. You better get that kid to her, or she's coming after us. She means it.
Cole: She'll get the kid.
Cole: Mission accomplished. Wow, Baby.
Lily: You think that I'm using what happened with Luke to sweep our problems under the table?
Holden: I don't know. I just don't think that you accept how bad things are between us.
Lily: I'm beginning to. And I'm also starting to see that you don't even want to give me a chance to try to fix things.
Holden: Lily, I have things that I need to do.
Lily: Right. You have some things you need to do. You need to do your chores, you need to take care of Luke, a divorce. I accept that I have made horrible mistakes. Horrible mistakes! But I don't even know you anymore.
Sofie: I can't lose you. I just can't.
Cole: That's not going to happen, Baby. You and me, Kid. You and me.
Sofie: I just --
Cole: You know what? We're going to find a great family for the kid. And you're going to see this is the best thing for the three of us. I promise.
Sofie: I hope so.
Cole: You know, I didn't want to say this -- all the bad things, but everything that happened -- you lied to me baby, you didn't listen to me. But we're going to make this work. You just have to trust me. Tell me. Tell me that you do.
Sofie: I trust you.
Cole: And they lived happily ever after.
Gwen: Will was so cute when he was a baby.
Barbara: Yes he was. And Hal used to toss him in the air. And toss him, and he would laugh and giggle, and -- wait until you see what kind of father he's going to be. [Cell phone ringing] I'm going to grab that. I'm expecting a business call. Barbara Ryan.
Cole: I want the second installment tomorrow.
Barbara: Did the deal go through?
Cole: And the goods are on the way. Cash tomorrow.
Sofie: You know, I went to the store. I can cook. We don't have to go out?
Cole: I told you, I want to take you out. We're celebrating.
Sofie: But it's so expensive.
Cole: It's okay. While you were up there, I got a phone call. Sofie, I think our luck's about to change.
Gwen: Hey. Well was that good news? You seem pretty happy.
Barbara: Something I've been working on just fell into place.
On the next "As the World Turns" --
Bob: So, you two are living together?
Parker: I'm not sure I want to go to your wedding.
Brad: Drop operation deathbed -- now!
Carly: By the time this wedding is over it really will be until death do us part.
