Will: Hey, what are you doing out there?

Gwen: You do better with those practice tests when I'm not around to distract you.

Will: You kidding? I have amazing powers of concentration.

Gwen: Yeah, how'd you do? No, no! Come on.

Will: Do you want to know? Here. Look for yourself and tell me.

Gwen: Well, Babe, you don't have to get discouraged. You don't have to take the GED today. You know, you can study as long as you want. You aced it! You got, like a perfect score!

Will: Shh! Keep your voice down. You have a recording session today.

Gwen: Congratulations.

Will: Thank you.

Gwen: I wish I could -- I wish I could be there with you today.

Will: Why, so you can sit next to me, and give me the answers, and give me a little back massage?

Gwen: No, so I can be waiting for you outside, and on the second you're done, we can come home and celebrate.

Will: Well, we can celebrate now.

[Knock on the door]

Gwen: It could be your mom.

Will: It's not my mom. If it was my mom, then she'd -- yep. It's my mom.

Gwen: I'm going to get dressed.

Will: No, do not get dressed. I'll get rid of her in like 30 seconds. Adam? What are you doing here?

Adam: Gwen and I have a recording session.

Will: Not for like, two hours.

Gwen: Yeah, am I late? Did I get the time wrong?

Adam: Change in plans. Let's go.

[Doorbell rings]

Katie: Oh, please God, please let that be Mike. Please let him still love me.

Henry: Hey.

Katie: Hey.

Henry: Writer's rage?

Katie: I hate that computer! I never want to see it again.

Henry: Obviously, it's thrown out there in the cold. Don't you have some book pages to finish though?

Katie: I don't care about the book.

Henry: Well, you're going to care when Lucinda takes back her advance. So, I'll tell you what. I'll see if I could get this thing to work. How long was it out there?

Katie: Since Mike threw it out.

Henry: What are you talking about? Mike won't throw this out there.

Katie: He left me!

Henry: You're kidding. You're not kidding. What happened? Did you have a fight or something? Was it about the computer? Oh Sweetie, you didn't write something incrimination about him again? You know the last time you did that, you almost ended up in jail. Sorry, I'm sorry. Here, I'm just so sorry. I know it was an accident. That Mike almost went to prison. I understand that you didn't mean for that to happen, and I'm sure whatever happened this time was just an accident. And that we will fix it. What did you write?

Katie: Nothing, really. Just a few choice words about how I accidentally slept with Simon.

Simon: Hey, there. Sorry I'm late.

Jeweler: No problem, Sir. The customer is always right.

Simon: And you are a genius.

Jeweler: Let's see if you still feel that way when you see the finished product. Designed precisely to your specifications.

Simon: Wow, that is beautiful.

Jeweler: I'm sure when you show up with this, your special lady will forgive you for whatever you've done.

Simon: Well, luckily, she already has.

Jeweler: Oh, whatever the occasion, it was a pleasure to set such a perfect diamond for you, Mr. Frasier. An heirloom?

Simon: Uh, yeah, yes. So I've been told.

Jeweler: Priceless. Good-bye.

Simon: Thank you. Actually, it was a steal.

Carly: Oh, are you headed out?

Jack: What do you need?

Carly: Can we talk?

Jack: About the kids?

Carly: About last night.

Jack: What about it?

Carly: Jack, I shouldn't have come here to complain about Simon. I put you in the middle, and that was wrong.

Jack: Right.

Carly: Well, I'm fine. Thanks for asking. I know you said that you didn't want to be friends. But considering that we've been married and shared three children together, I figured you might be a little interested in how things turned out.

Jack: After I left, I was a little worried about leaving you here alone with Simon, so I doubled back to make sure everything was okay. And what I saw between the two of you brought me right up to speed with how things turned out. now you'll find deli-style,

Adam: There was some time open this afternoon at the recording studio, so I grabbed it. Let's go, Gwen!

Gwen: Just a minute!

Will: Yeah, you could have called first.

Adam: Your place is on the way. And I figured my singer would be busy preparing, warming up her voice.

Will: Lay off.

Adam: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You didn't keep her up all night, did you?

Will: What if I did?

Gwen: No, he didnít. And I'm wide awake and ready for everything.

Adam: All right. Are you going to get dressed or what?

Will: No, I'm not going.

Adam: Oh, so we can spend your money how ever we want?

Will: I got my G.E.D. test today. So, what time are you guys going to be done? Maybe I'll come by then.

Gwen: Well, we'll probably be done before you are. Right, Adam?

Adam: Sure.

Will: Be nice to my wife. I don't want to have to hurt you.

Adam: Oh, right. Yeah, I'm really scared. Come on, Gwen, let's go.

Gwen: I'm ready. Wait, I need one more -- I need one more second.

Adam: Okay, clock's ticking.

Gwen: Good luck today.

Will: You too.

Adam: That whooshing sound you hear? It's thousands of dollars, going right down the drain.

Gwen: I'll see you later.

Will: Okay, just remember, that no matter what my brother says, you're the best singer in the known universe.

Gwen: I love you.

Will: I love you, too.

Adam: Go. Now. Where's my hug, Bro?

Will: Bite me.

Adam: I love you. I love you. I love you. Later.

Carly: You saw Simon and me -- making up?

Jack: It doesn't matter.

Carly: I know that must seem so flaky. Because I was so mad. But Simon apologized and I forgave him --

Jack: I don't want -- I don't want to hear about your love life.

Carly: Right, then you told me that you wanted to be my love life.

Jack: Thank you. Thank you for reminding me, since you have no intention of taking me up on it.

Carly: Jack, I think we should clear this up.

Jack: It's clear. It's perfectly clear. I'm not mad.

Carly: Really?

Jack: Carly, you don't have to worry about me putting any pressure on you or getting in Simon's face. If that's what you want, if it's who you want, I respect that.

Carly: Thank you, Jack.

Jack: Carly? Never mind.

Carly: No, say it. Say it.

Jack: Maybe Simon's changed. Who knows? But whatever stands between us, know that I don't want to see you hurt.

Carly: Okay.

Jack: So, the next time Simon lets you down --

Carly: There won't be a next time --

Jack: Know the next time that happens, please, please don't come running to me. I mean that.

Carly: Okay.

Jack: I got to go to work.

Carly: Yeah, I got the kids new sneakers. So, I brought their old ones here. I figured that they could use them here to clean out the stalls or whatever --

Jack: That's a great idea.

Carly: All right, then, I'll bring them up to their room.

Jack: Good. Bye.

Carly: Bye.

[Cell phone rings]

Carly: Hello?

Simon: Hey.

Carly: I was just about to call you. What are you doing?

Simon: Oh, I'm just at the Lakeview, thinking about my favorite girl.

Carly: And what girl might that be?

Simon: Oh, you. You, yes.

Carly: Just checking. Dining room?

Simon: No, make it the lounge. It's cozier. I'll see you soon?

Carly: I'll be there. Oh, hi, Mike.

Mike: Hey.

Carly: What are you doing here?

Mike: Oh, Emma needed me to install a smoke detector for her. Is she around?

Carly: No, but you should come in and do that.

Mike: I guess I'm not surprised to see you here. You and Jack get back together?

Carly: What makes you think that?

Mike: Well, I just figured that you got back with Jack after you found out about Simon and Katie.

Carly: No, I'm still with Simon.

Mike: After he cheated on you?

Carly: He made a mistake. I forgave him. I think you should do the same thing with Katie.

Katie: One minute I was arguing with Simon, and then next minute, I was kissing him. Then it was over, and I realized what I had done.

Henry: You left out the part about the sex.

Katie: Because the sex -- it wasn't about the sex, Henry.

Henry: Why did you do it?

Katie: I don't know. It just happened. It was so wrong. Nothing like it is with Mike. I mean with Mike, I feel what he feels for me. Every moment is special because it's about something bigger than just ourselves, you know? It's about our future. And the family that we're making.

Henry: Yeah, so during this passion with Simon, were there any random unexpected feelings?

Katie: No. I just told you.

Henry: Uh-huh, and afterwards?

Katie: Afterwards, I realized how much I love Mike. And I just wished to God that I could take it all away. I mean, I was really confused.

Henry: And you didn't have your old pal Henry to lean on, right? Okay, what's your next move?

Katie: Just wait and see, I guess. I don't know. How could I have done this to him?

Henry: I don't know, Sweetheart. I think the bigger question is though, are you going to do it again?

Katie: No.

Henry: You got to be sure here, Katie. Because if you still have feelings for Simon, if you're not --

Katie: No, I'm over Simon. It's done. I'm finally cured.

Henry: Yeah, that's what Emily said about Paul, and it's so not true.

Katie: I am over Simon.

Henry: Why is it my constant plight to be involved with women who are in love with other men?

Katie: It's because you're the best friend a girl could ever have.

Henry: Thank you, always the bridesmaid, never the bride --

Katie: It's a good thing --

Henry: Okay, all right, all right. Okay, I'm going to help you out.

Katie: How?

Henry: I'm going to help you get Mike back.

Gwen: Hey, you're really in a hurry. Is there something that you're not telling me?

Adam: Like what?

Gwen: Like you listened to what we recorded yesterday and it wasn't as good as you thought?

Adam: Oh, I didn't say it was good. I said it was okay.

Gwen: Okay, so, it wasn't as okay as you thought.

Adam: Not even close. But I did make a decision. And I made some calls.

Gwen: To who?

Casey: Hey, what took you guys so long?

Adam: The diva was still in bed.

Gwen: Hey, you were way early.

Adam: Okay, is everything all set?

Casey: Yeah.

Gwen: What's going on?

Maddie: Don't ask me. I'm just a groupie.

Adam: You ready?

Gwen: For what?

Maddie: Wait! Oh, shouldn't we wait for Will? You should be here for this.

Gwen: Why? Okay, what's going on?

Adam: Come with me.

Gwen: Oh, hey, somebody's just about to start a session.

Adam: What do you mean?

Gwen: That's not our stuff.

Adam: Right. It's their stuff.

Musician #1: Hi, Gwen. Roy Thomas.

Gwen: Oh, my god, it is. This is Roy Thomas. He's like the most incredible guitar -- how did you know my name?

Musician #2: Hey, what's up, Gwen? Just call me Cedric.

Gwen: Cedric Burroughs. I have been a fan of yours forever. But what are you guys doing here?

Musician #3: You must be Gwen. Trey.

Gwen: No, Trey Cunningham. I know. Okay, I'm officially embarrassed and blown away. So, what are you guys doing recording here? Who are you working with?

Adam: You. They're working with you.

Henry: Do you want Mike back or not?

Katie: Of course, I do. But I've tried everything already. I chased him practically all over town trying to get him to come home. Or at least go to someplace quiet so we can talk. He would barely even look at me. Every word I said made him even angrier.

Henry: Katie, Katie, Katie, have you learned nothing from my tutelage? The man has an Achilles heel. He is in love with you. And I plan to focus in on that little weakness and we'll get your man back. Are you with me?

Katie: Henry --

Henry: Are you with me?

Katie: Yes.

Henry: Katie Kasnoff, are you ready and willing to go after that man with every little twisted idea in our collective bag of tricks?

Katie: Yes.

Henry: I can't hear you!

Katie: Yes, sir!

Henry: All right, then let's get to work.

Mike: You think I should forgive Katie for sleeping with your new boyfriend?

Carly: Well, now just wait a minute. Let's get one thing straight, okay? Simon and I were not technically, actually together when he slept with Katie.

Mike: Yeah, you just want Katie out of the way, don't you? That way you can have Simon all to yourself. Because you know if I forgive Katie and take her back, then you got a clear shot at Simon.

Carly: Oh, I have a clear shot. Simon is over Katie.

Mike: And you know this because?

Carly: Because he told me.

Mike: When did you become so gullible?

Carly: Well, maybe since the man I loved left me because I'm not perfect. What is it with you and Jack? You're good guys, you're nice guys. You go out and find not-so-nice girls like me and Katie. And you marry us and promise to love us, and honor us, and cherish us, till death. I guess that's the part of the promise that it's okay to break, huh?

Mike: She broke it first?

Carly: So you only keep that vow if it's easy? If the other person is perfect? Mike, Katie has loved you and stood by you, and fought for you for years.

Mike: Carly, she has sex with a man she says she didn't care about. In our house.

Carly: For a moment, she forgot what is really important. Don't make the same mistake.

Mike: How do you forgive something like that?

Carly: If you love Katie enough --

Mike: I love her more than anything.

Carly: Good.

Mike: But I can't forgive her, Carly. I just -- I canít.

Simon: Perfect, perfect. Listen, when Carly Tenney gets here, just bring out the champagne and make sure we're not interrupted. All right. Where are my manners? Excuse me. I'm losing it. Thank you. Anything else? You good?

Bartender #1: Maybe I'm out of line here, but if you don't want to be interrupted, why not take the lady up to your room?

Simon: Good question. You know, that's what I used to do. Yes, that's what I used to do. But you see, this one, she's very, very special. You see, I just want, I want to sit down with her. And listen to everything she's got to say.

Bartender #1: I'll prep that champagne.

Simon: You're a good man.

Jack: That's an interesting theory.

Simon: Oh, hey Jack. Yeah, sit down, please. You heard that?

Jack: Yes, I did.

Simon: Are you looking for me?

Jack: I was just doing my job. A lady over there thought she had her purse stolen, but it was in her limo.

Simon: Oh, that's going to --

Jack: Yeah, what do you have here? Is that more of the seduction theory? Along with the cozy table and champagne?

Simon: This?

Jack: Yeah.

Simon: That's a -- that's just a gift. It's a gift.

Jack: May I?

Simon: What if I was to say no?

Jack: It would just make me more curious. You know how cops are.

Simon: Indeed I do. Please, come on. Knock yourself out. Satisfy that curiosity.

Jack: That's nice. Real or fake?

Simon: You tell me.

Announcer: Coming up on "As the World Turns" --

Maddie: So, you're not saving up for anything, why did you hit up Adam for cash?

Gwen: I can't-- I can't do this.

Carly: Is this diamond from the necklace you stole from Vienna?

Henry: Ow, ow, ow!

Katie: What happened?

Henry: Ow -- I smashed my thumb with the hammer. Here, take a look at this.

Katie: Whoa, hold on. Is it bleeding? 'Cause if it's bleeding, I see and I'll faint.

Henry: Oh, really? Why risk fainting to come to the aid of the man who's trying to save your marriage?

Katie: Well, if it's not bleeding, I'm all good. I'll even kiss it and make it better. Is that Mike's t-shirt?

Henry: Yes, I was handkerchief-less. I had to improvise through my pain.

Katie: You okay?

Henry: Yes, I'm okay. It'll be fine, thank you. How's the backdoor coming along?

Katie: It's done.

Henry: Uh-huh, and the basement?

Katie: Don't you think this is a little extreme?

Henry: Yeah, I do. That's why it's going to work. All right, now, we have to plot our positions carefully. Because if you're in the wrong place -- well, Mike will bolt. And if I'm in the wrong place, then Mike will kill me. He will.

Katie: I just wish he would call.

Henry: Mmm --

Katie: Did you hear the phone ring?

Henry: No, I was outside hammering, remember? Not Mike?

Katie: No, it's Lucinda. She wants the new material for the re-release of "Oakdale Confidential."

Henry: When does she want it?

Katie: Yesterday. But that's not going to happen. I can't care about the book right now. It's brought me nothing but trouble.

Henry: And oodles of cash, but that's a worry for another day.

Katie: What?

Henry: Uh, I don't know. You're a little splotchy from crying, your hair's a mess.

Katie: No, it's not.

Henry: Yes, it is. Get upstairs and make yourself irresistible. My brilliant acting can only carry us so far.

Katie: Whatever happens, Henry -- thanks.

Henry: You're welcome. Move. Think vixen.

Carly: You know, Jack told me that he'd never be able to forgive me. And I didn't believe it at first. And then, when I finally gave up hope and found Simon, Jack suddenly --

Mike: Now he wants you back.

Carly: That's what he says.

Mike: Maybe you should listen and forgive him.

Carly: Forgive him for what? I don't blame him for leaving me. Much. You know, but what I've been realizing is that, I was one person when I was with Jack, and I'm a different person without him. And I don't think I can go back.

Mike: And months from now, when he's with someone else?

Carly: I'll just have to deal with it. Just think long and hard about this, Mike. Are you really sure that you want to say good-bye to Katie for good?

[Cell phone rings]

Mike: I need to take this.

Carly: Yeah, okay. I gotta go anyway.

Mike: All right, I'll lock up. Yeah?

Henry: Hey, Mike, it's me. I'm at the cottage.

Mike: If you're calling to tell me that Katie's upset, I already know that.

Henry: No, no, she's not here. But there's a pile of papers here by the fireplace. It looks like she's about to start a bonfire. It's probably nothing, but they look kind of important. Official.

Mike: It sounds like some of my construction stuff from work. She's not gonna burn that. Not in a million years.

Henry: Well, normally, no, but it looks like she's been drinking. Are you sure you don't know where she is?

Mike: She probably went to Margoís or something.

Henry: Oh, okay. Well, just think about it for a second here, Mike. If she's distraught and she's been drinking, and she's out there driving --

Mike: All right, I'll call Margo. Can you wait there for her, in case she comes back?

Henry: Yeah, but she'll probably just leave or kick me out. Anyway, what about these papers? I really think you should come take a look at this.

Jack: It doesn't matter if it's real or not. The point is you're trying to buy Carly.

Simon: Buy Carly?

Jack: And it's not going to work.

Simon: No, no, no, Jack. This is just a gift to show my affection, it's not a bribe --

Jack: Right. You want some advice?

Simon: I think I'm doing okay, but if I do, I'll give you a call --

Jack: Don't hurt her again, Simon.

Simon: Come on, Jack. What is that? Is that a threat?

Jack: No, it's not a threat. It's advice. Take last night, for example. You made her miserable, and she was so upset that she came running back to me.

Simon: And she didn't stay.

Jack: No, not this time. I have some more advice.

Simon: Okay, good, 'cause this is all good stuff.

Jack: Once Carly's been burned, she never lets her guard down again. So the minute you start thinking about stepping out on her, she's gone.

Simon: Right. Well, listen, if you know so much about her, why is she with me?

Jack: Don't lie to her, don't use her, and never, never underestimate her.

Simon: Or?

Jack: She'll walk. And there's not a piece of jewelry on the planet that'll get her back.

Simon: Okay.

Adam: Okay, gentlemen and lady, let's rehearse this once. Gwen, Cedric and I did some work with the arrangements. Why don't you look those over and make sure you like what we've done?

Gwen: Sure, yeah.

Casey: Hey, so, everyone's been cracking jokes about this industrial coffee, so I thought I'd go spring for some designer lattes.

Adam: Yeah, sure. Go ahead.

Casey: Yeah, that requires cash, though, Brother.

Adam: Oh, sorry.

Casey: And I think, maybe you can throw in a couple 20s for me?

Adam: Why?

Casey: Money's been a little tight, you know?

Maddie: He's kidding.

Casey: No, I'm not.

Maddie: You don't need Adamís money.

Adam: Here, just take it. Hurry back, and I like my coffee strong.

Casey: All right, got it.

Maddie: I'll come with you.

Gwen: Hey, Adam.

Adam: Ready?

Gwen: Um --

Adam: Oh, you don't like what we did with the arrangement. It's okay, you know, the guy's got an edge to him, you know? You'll like his sound.

Gwen: No, I like his sound. I know his sound. They've got Grammyís, Adam.

Adam: And the problem with that would be?

Gwen: It's me. I don't think -- I can't -- I can't do this.

Maddie: So what are you saving up for?

Casey: What?

Maddie: All that money you borrowed from Adam? You must be saving up for something special, because I just so happen to know that your dad gave you your regular monthly check.

Casey: Oh, that.

Maddie: Yeah. That. So are you buying new sound system or something?

Casey: No. Why would I do that?

Maddie: That's all you talk about. And your helping Adam and cutting this demo for Gwen and --

Casey: I'm just making an early Christmas list. Dropping hints to my girlfriend. You know how it is.

Maddie: Oh, that's what you've been doing. Slick.

Casey: Slick. That is my middle name. Casey Slick Hughes.

Maddie: Okay, so if you're not saving up for anything, why did you hit up Adam for cash?

Casey: Well, money is tight right now. I overspent last month and --

Maddie: Your dad just gave you a check, Casey.

Casey: I know that, but sometimes the bank holds personal checks and until it clears I'm kind of --

Maddie: Okay that's fine. I got it. Oh, before I forget, what time are you picking me up tonight? The film festival?

Casey: Oh.

Maddie: I can't believe you forget about that? I waited in line for hours to get those tickets!

Casey: I know you did. I remember. I'm sorry.

Maddie: Okay, so what time are you picking me up?

Casey: I'm sorry. I'm going to have to cancel.

Adam: Hey take five guys? Gwen and I have to work on some stuff. Suddenly you can't work with other musicians? I thought you used to have a band.

Gwen: Yeah, a few of us got together and play.

Adam: This is the same thing.

Gwen: No it's not. That was Skye from biology and Rachel from the neighborhood, and my friend Shauna. I'm not on the same level with these guys. You tried to explain that to me, but I didn't get it. And now I'm really sorry because you went to all this trouble. And now I've wasted everybody's time, and I wasted will's money, and --

Adam: Let me make sure I'm following. Okay, you're not good enough to work with these guys?

Gwen: I want to be --

Adam: But you are good enough to work with me? What are you saying, Gwen? That I'm some hack?

Gwen: No.

Adam: You think I have no standards when it comes to the artists I work with? Oh, let's get Adam. He'll work with anyone.

Gwen: I know that's not true.

Adam: You're not going to accuse me of being nice, are you, Gwen? Because that would really make me mad.

Gwen: No, Adam, you are definitely not nice.

Adam: So why am I working with you?

Gwen: Because you think I'm good enough.

Adam: I would never have flown these guys in if you werenít.

Gwen: Did you pay them like a lot of money?

Adam: They're working for scale. As a favor to me. And because they like working with each other. And because I sent them one of your sample tracks. And they loved what they heard. They're here to make music with you, Gwen. Need some water or something?

Gwen: No. I need you to tell me the truth.

Adam: Are you on a par with these guys? No. But you can be. I mean, you have to work for it though. Tell me what you think of what Cedric's done with the bridge.

Gwen: I like it.

Adam: Really?

Gwen: It's kind of -- I think people see it coming. We need to mix it up a little.

Adam: Show me. Jade! Hi. I forgot to call.

Jade: Are you guys almost finished up?

Adam: We're actually just starting.

Jade: What happened? A music emergency?

Adam: More like a brainstorm. I set up this special session last minute and I totally forgot that you and I were getting together. I'm really sorry.

Jade: It's okay.

Adam: I'll make it up to you. I'll take you to dinner. Someplace very upscale.

Jade: You don't have to do that. We can do burgers or something tonight.

Adam: I don't want to leave you hanging. We might be at this for a while.

Jade: Okay. How upscale a dinner?

Adam: Sky's the limit. Thank you for being so understanding about this.

Jade: It looks like you're doing all the work. I thought this was a family deal. Where are your brothers?

Adam: Well, Caseyís on a coffee run, and Will couldn't come at all today. I have to get back to the session.

Jade: Okay. I'll see you later.

Adam: Okay. Bye.

Will: Hey, Gwen. Where are you? I thought you'd be done by now. I did all right on the test I think. So the celebration ought to be on. Uh --anyway, just break a leg and come home soon. Love you. Nice, Munson. Get the candles, forget the cake.

Simon: This advice, Jack it's all terrific stuff but it's not going to keep her. Why would you do that?

Jack: I want her to be happy, Simon. You hurt her last night.

Simon: And did she tell you what happened?

Jack: I don't care what happened. I don't want to know what happened. But a piece of jewelry isn't going to begin to make up for it. Try being good to her instead.

Carly: Hi.

Simon: Hey.

Carly: What happened?

Simon: I don't really know actually. It might have something to do with the fact that he caught a glimpse of this.

Carly: Is that for me? Why?

Simon: Because you make me ecstatic and excited and just because you totally deserve it.

Carly: Oh, Simon --

Simon: You like it?

Carly: Like it? This diamond is -- Simon, is this diamond from the necklace you stole from Vienna?

Casey: When you got the tickets, I really thought I was going to be able to go. But now I've got to put in a major cram session for this test tomorrow.

Maddie: That's okay. I'll just skip it and help you study.

Casey: No. I need you to go. We'll hang out this weekend and we'll do something. What? What?

Maddie: I was just thinking about how proud I am of you.

Casey: Why, what did I do?

Maddie: Well, you're studying a lot and you're working with Adam all the time. People always talk about doing what they love, but you're actually making it happen.

Casey: You're giving me too much credit. If I was smarter and I was better at stuff and I could spend more time with you, take you places.

Maddie: I don't need to go anywhere. I like sitting here. Holding your hand.

Casey: Coffee's ready.

Maddie: I'll help you take it back to the recording studio.

Casey: Don't you have school?

Maddie: Yeah, but --

Casey: No I can't have you miss class.

Maddie: Are you sure?

Casey: Yeah I'm sure. I need you to hurry up and graduate so you can get into college and we can spend more time together.

Maddie: I'd like that.

Casey: Don't worry. I'll get everything under control soon.

Maddie: I know.

Gwen: Where'd Adam go?

Adam: I'm right here.

Musician #2: Was that as good as it sounded in here?

Adam: Better. I set it up for playback. How do you feel?

Gwen: Amazing. It was probably one of the top five best times of my life.

Adam: Really? You didn't ask me what I thought.

Gwen: Well, I figured since you didn't say I was awful, it was okay.

Adam: There are a lot of singers out there, Gwen. But it's rare when a singer makes you feel -- what she's feeling. You did that just now. I thought you should know.

Gwen: Definitely one of the top four best times of my life.

Jade: Hey. What are you doing?

Will: I'm buying a cake.

Jade: Somebody's birthday?

Will: Kind of a celebration.

Jade: Anniversary, or --

Will: No, I finished the first part of the GED.

Jade: That's great, Will! Did you do well? That's a dumb question. Obviously you did well or else you wouldn't be celebrating.

Will: Right. Right. This time, I'm doing everything right. No cheating.

Jade: I'm happy for you. So are you planning on taking the cake over to the recording studio?

Will: No, this is going to be a private thing. Just Gwen and me.

Jade: Oh, I hope you weren't planning on cutting the cake any time soon.

Simon: See, I had the setting designed specifically for you. The jeweler, she's an artist --

Carly: Simon, you're not answering the question. Is that diamond from the necklace you stole?

Simon: What we stole.

Carly: Simon.

Simon: Yes, it is.

Carly: Are you completely out of your mind?

Henry: Hey, have you talked to Margo?

Mike: She hasn't heard from Katie. I didn't want to upset her. When did Katie start drinking vodka?

Henry: I guess you must be out of wine. Anyways, these papers, do you need these or not?

Mike: Yeah. I mean, I don't know why Katie would set them on fire? I mean, I mean she's not happy about me leaving, but to try to put me out of business, she wouldn't do that.

Henry: She's not herself.

Mike: Right. Look, will you stay here and wait for her? Let me know the second you hear from her. But don't tell her we had this conversation, okay?

Henry: You're not staying?

Mike: I just want to get my things and get out of here. I don't want to take any chances of running into her. Henry?

Announcer: On the next "As the World Turns" --

Katie: I need to make sure that you don't do something that we'll both regret.

Mike: Like what?

Katie: Like walk out on a wonderful marriage.

Lucy: He never gives up when he wants something.

Dusty: What are you saying?

Lucy: I don't think I should testify.

Carly: That's evidence. Why would you want to hold on to something that incriminating?

Simon: Isn't it obvious?

Carly: Well maybe if you're insane and you want to go to jail.
