Sergio: Do you want the boy to die? Do you?

Damian: Release him, Sergio.

Sergio: Stay back. Stay back!

Damian: There's nowhere to go!

Sergio: Are you with me?

Damian: Let him go!

Sergio: Don't be a fool, Damian. Come on.

[Sergio shouts]

Jack: Holden!

Damian: Are you all right?

Holden: Give me a reason, Damian.

[Lucy gasping for breath]

Dusty: Meg, what's wrong with her?

Meg: I don't know.

Dusty: Lucy, you gotta hang on, kid. You gotta hang on.

Meg: Okay, she must have inhaled something down there. Something she's allergic to.

Dusty: Well, what do we do?

Meg: Okay, you need to keep her conscious.

Dusty: Con --

Meg: Just keep her from passing out. Okay? I have something in the car.

Dusty: Well, how do I do that?

Meg: Keep her from passing out!

Dusty: Shh, shh. Hey, you're here with me. Shh, relax. I got you. I got you. I'm right here. Shh, stay with me. Stay with me.

Emily: What are you doing?

Paul: Covering you.

Emily: How long was I sleeping?

Paul: I don't know. I was busy.

Emily: You know, you shouldn't have let me fall asleep like that.

Paul: Well, obviously, you needed it.

Emily: So, did the accounting fairies show up while I was asleep?

Paul: Yep, they sure did. But I was long done before those losers showed up. So, would you like to know exactly where your paper -- "The Intruder" -- stands down to the last nickel -- penny, almost?

Dallas: What are you doing here, Maddie?

Maddie: Is everything all right in there?

Dallas: Come on out.

Maddie: I was so scared it was the killer --

Dallas: Everything's all right now. Hey!

Margo: Will, no one is accusing you of anything.

Will: He is. I saved Gwen’s life.

Margo: Where did the attacker go when he left? Which way?

Will: Through the door. No, wait -- I'm not sure. I was really worried about Gwen.

Margo: Where were you earlier?

Will: Are you serious? I'm a suspect?

Casey: Where were you?

Margo: Casey, please.

Casey: No, just answer the question.

Jade: He was with me.

Gwen: What is she doing here?

Jade: I knew Will was coming. I was worried.

Gwen: Did she come with you?

Will: No.

Margo: So, you were with Will earlier?

Jade: Up until he left.

Margo: Left where?

Jade: Java.

Margo: Well, how long ago was that?

Jade: I don't know. A few minutes? I left right after Will did.

Margo: How'd you get out here?

Casey: Yeah, you ride on your broomstick?

Margo: Just stop it --

Jade: I hitched.

Margo: So, Will, you were with Jade earlier? That's your alibi?

Will: Yeah.

Margo: Were there other people at Java tonight?

Jade: No, not really.

Casey: Yeah, well, what about the counter guy? What's his name, he went to Oakdale Latin -- Jerry --

Will: What's your problem?

Casey: Your alibi's a liar.

Margo: Would you stop, please?

Casey: Mom, just check her story.

Margo: Whoa, what a good idea. Now, look, guys, the lab guys are going to be here pretty soon. They're going to go over the place, gather any evidence that they need, and they're going to be lifting not only Will's footprints, but any other footprints they can find from under the bedroom window.

Jade: Yeah, my guess -- a woman's size seven.

Margo: What?

Jade: The other footprints. We all know who did it. Okay? Find Maddie Coleman and her shoes, and you'll catch the Oakdale Slasher.

Eve: Did you find her?

Henry: No.

Eve: Did you try that coffee shop?

Henry: Yeah, I've been there.

Eve: The library?

Henry: Yeah, they haven't seen her in days.

Eve: The mall?

Henry: It's a big mall, Eve.

Eve: She must have a favorite store.

Henry: I'm sure she does. Do you really think she's shopping right now?

Eve: No -- I'm just worried.

Henry: I am, too, Sis.

Eve: Any luck?

Louis: I came up empty. But I don't know the town very well --

Eve: Maybe we should call the police.

Henry: Forget that.

Louis: For once I agree with you.

Eve: I don't know, do you think she would call any of her old friends from Chicago?

Louis: She hasn't called one of those kids in months. Why now?

Henry: I don't know, it's worth a try.

Louis: Fine, call them, waste your time.

Henry: Wow. You know, Louis, if you had four legs and a sniffer, you might actually be good for something.

Louis: You want to take this outside?

Eve: You know what? Stop it! Fighting will not help find Maddie.

Henry: Yeah, Eve's right. Until we find her, let's all just play at being family.

Eve: We are family. Louis is my husband, and I wish you would stop treating him like he's an outsider. He's been like a second big brother to Maddie, and you know it.

Henry: What, Eve, we’re supposed to be all, like, warm and cozy now?

Louis: Just stay out of my way.

Henry: Down, Boy --

Louis: Look, I put up with you for her sake, but don't push it.

Eve: Stop it. We need to find Maddie. What if she's been attacked again, and she's out there hurt or --

Henry: We'll find her. We'll find her. She can't have gotten far.

Dallas: No more running.

Maddie: I want to go home.

Dallas: No, not yet. Look, there was a 911 distress call this evening.

Maddie: I saw the cars and lights --

Dallas: And you still hid? Why are you here, Maddie?

Maddie: I have to stop Gwen and Casey.

Luke: Dad --

Holden: You okay?

Luke: Yeah.

Damian: Luke, I can explain.

Luke: You told me that he was a business appointment.

Damian: I didn't want to worry you.

Luke: So who is he?

Damian: We'll leave that for the authorities --

Holden: Luke asked you a question.

Damian: I have no idea why Sergio reacted that way.

Holden: Tell him the truth. All of it. He deserves that much from you.

Dusty: Meg's on her way. Meg's on her way. Here, come on. Look at me, Princess. Look at me.

Meg: Lift her sleeve.

Dusty: She's getting worse.

Meg: Yeah, okay. All right. Hold on.

Dusty: Hold still, Honey.

Meg: Got her?

Dusty: Yep.

Dusty: Is it working?

Meg: Yeah. Just breathe nice and slow. Come on.

Dusty: What was that?

Meg: Adrenaline.

Dusty: She's definitely better.

Meg: She's getting better. I think she's going to be fine.

Dusty: Hear that?

Meg: Just nice and slow, okay?

Dusty: You're going to fine.

Meg: Yeah, we were lucky. Just breathe nice and slow.

Dusty: Its okay, Honey. I got you now. It's over. All right? It's over. Next time, don't scare me like that. Or Meg’s going to be giving me the shot. You understand?

Paul: There's really no magic involved. I just pulled out all the non-compensatory items and the depreciated assets, and it practically took care of its self.

Emily: You are such a show off.

Paul: You would have figured it out, eventually.

Emily: Yeah. By Christmas, maybe.

Paul: All right, so I generated a cash flow projection chart. And I put it on the desktop. And if you click on it, it'll show you "The Intruder's" monthly cash position --

Emily: What, zero?

Paul: Actually, your newspaper turned a little profit this quarter.

Emily: Get out.

Paul: Proving once again that the public really does have an insatiable appetite for junk.

Emily: Even neglected junk. I mean, just imagine what I can do if I -- if I threw in a little creativity -- change the layouts, reshuffle the budgeting a little bit --

Paul: Em, is this really the right time for all of that?

Emily: Yeah, why not? What, because I'm pregnant?

Paul: This job has stress written all over it.

Emily: I can handle it.

Paul: Okay, well, promise me that you'll let me help if you can't handle it.

Emily: You've already helped. Thank you.

Paul: Well, would it kill you to throw a little ad revenue at the right outlets? 'Cause if you did that, I'm sure the return would be -- what's wrong?

Emily: Nothing, nothing --

Paul: What's wrong? No, seriously, should I call Dr. Schiller?

Emily: No, if I -- if I called the doctor every time the baby kicked, I would be on the phone 24 hours a day.

Paul: He kicked?

Emily: No, actually it was more like a forward roll with a twist.

Paul: Really?

Emily: Yeah. You want to feel?

Paul: That's okay?

Emily: Yeah. Yeah, of course it's okay. This is usually a good spot.

Paul: Yeah, I don't feel anything.

Emily: Okay, it's a baby, not a circus dog. Come on, Sweetie, show your daddy you're just having a little fun. What? What?

Paul: You just called me her daddy.

Emily: Well, you are the daddy. And the baby's a her now? Make up your mind.

Paul: Well, I can't, it keeps changing.

Emily: The baby?

Paul: No, the future tense baby. Sometimes I see him, and he's wearing a monogrammed blazer, and other times she's bald and she's got kind of a ruffly thing on her head.

Emily: She's bald? Those looks work for you?

Paul: No, not at all, but I do get to decide because -- I am the father, at least part of the time. It's not just a word.

Emily: No, it's a really big job.

Paul: I know. And I'm up for it.

Emily: We'll see.

Paul: No, no. I have a plan, see?

Emily: Oh, see, now that scares me. You always have a plan.

Paul: No, not like that. Stop it. I'm going to do this -- whatever my natural instinct is, to do things the way I've always done them, I'm going to do the opposite. For instance, if I want to take control of the child's education, and send him to boarding school in, say, Europe --

Emily: Oh, no, no, no, no. What, are you kidding me?

Paul: No, no -- opposite. I send him to public school in Oakdale. I call it my opposite plan.

Emily: It's so dumb, but it might actually work for you.

Paul: I -- I think that we can be great parents together as long as I don't do what it is that I want to do. What? Is that it?

Emily: Oh, yeah.

Paul: Oh! He's a linebacker -- or a Rockette. 'Cause that would be okay, too.

Emily: You should feel it from the orchestra seats.

Paul: It's unbelievable.

Susan: Do I even want to know what's happening in here?

Holden: Let's hear it, Damian.

Luke: Who is he?

Holden: The truth.

Damian: Sergio worked for the syndicate that kept me in hiding all these years.

Holden: You told Lily that the danger had passed.

Luke: And that he was a friend.

Damian: I was contacted shortly before I came to Oakdale. Sergio's people were willing to make a deal.

Holden: What kind of deal?

Damian: They would end the vendetta so I could come out of hiding for a price.

Luke: What kind of price?

Holden: Where's the rest of his crew?

Damian: There's no others that I know of. Sergio came to make sure that we returned.

Luke: Why me?

Holden: You needed his money, didn't you?

Damian: I already paid him a great deal.

Holden: But they wanted it all? That's it, isn't it?

Luke: I don't get it.

Holden: Your inheritance, Luke. They wanted everything that Damian had, including the money that he was going to give you.

Luke: Is that true?

Damian: Yes.

Luke: Why didn't you just tell me? Were you going to trick me into signing it over or something?

Damian: Luke, you must believe me, I had no choice. They would kill us both. It's never as simple as it seems to be.

Luke: So what was going to happen after I gave you the inheritance?

Damian: My wish was that you'd stay in Malta and live with me.

Luke: But you're dying. I found those pills --

Damian: Luke --

Luke: No, you swore! You're sick, right? You wouldn't lie to me about something like that!

Meg: Well, your vitals check out. Hey, where's the ambulance?

Dusty: There was an accident on the access road. The ambulance and the fire department will be here shortly.

Meg: Okay, good. They'll follow you up to Memorial, okay?

Lucy: Thank you, Meg.

Dusty: You always carry that stuff with you?

Meg: My patient's asthmatic. So what happened?

Dusty: Oh, it's a long story.

Meg: Yeah, the good ones usually are.

Lucy: A friend of Damian’s locked us in the cellar. He had a gun.

Dusty: Damian wants to take Luke out of the country.

Lucy: We've got to call Jack to stop them. We've got to get to the airport.

Meg: No, no, no, no, no, no. You relax. I'll do it.

Dusty: You gotta use your cell. The lines blew up.

Meg: Okay, I'll be right back. You take it easy.

Dusty: How you feeling?

Lucy: Better.

Dusty: When are you gonna learn not to mess with people like that?

Lucy: I didn't know Damian was so dangerous.

Dusty: You're so gullible, you know?

Lucy: I'm sorry, Dusty.

Dusty: For what?

Lucy: Tonight. Look, I took Jennifer away from Johnny. And tonight, he almost lost you, too.

Dusty: I made this my fight.

Lucy: You could have been killed because of me. I've done nothing but hurt you since I've been back. Dusty, I never meant to do that. I never meant for any of that to happen.

Margo: So you're saying that Maddie Coleman is our killer?

Jade: Yeah.

Margo: That's really hard to reason that, since she and Gwen are such friends.

Jade: Not so much.

Margo: What's she getting at?

Will: Nothing.

Casey: Tell her.

Will: It's got nothing to do with tonight.

Gwen: It really doesn’t.

Margo: Would somebody tell me what's going on?

Jade: I saw Maddie tonight, and she threatened Casey and Gwen.

Margo: Why?

Jade: Because they're together.

Gwen: That is not true.

Casey: She's lying!

Margo: No, is that true? Did Gwen move out because of you?

Will: No.

Casey: I just asked her to stay at our house.

Gwen: He figured it would be safer for right now.

Will: You know, I can find somebody to protect you.

Casey: Oh, you?

Will: Why don't you back off!

Margo: All right, both of you back off! Let's just go back to Maddie. What's her stake in this?

Jade: Do you want me to tell her?

Gwen: You know what? She already knows that we broke up.

Casey: Because of you. 'Cause you're a wrecking ball.

Margo: Oh, would somebody please tell me what's going on?

Jade: Will and I hooked up.

Will: Just once.

Jade: And Maddie went running and told Gwen.

Margo: Oh -- is that true? Did she tell you?

Gwen: Yeah.

Jade: And when the psycho found out that Gwen was moving in with her old boyfriend, she got really weird. And she kept saying how she couldn't let it happen.

Dallas: I get that you wanted to stop Gwen and Casey. But what I don't get is how.

Maddie: I had to talk to him.

Dallas: About what?

Maddie: Gwen moving in.

Dallas: You think Casey and Gwen are --

Maddie: I -- I had to tell him.

Dallas: Tell him what?

Margo: I take it you and Maddie aren't real good friends, huh?

Jade: Not even close.

Dallas: If you wanted to talk to Casey, why hide?

Maddie: I told you already. I got scared. I heard screams and I saw someone run out the door. So, I thought it was the killer coming after me again, so I hid over there.

Margo: Did Maddie ever threaten you to your face? Gwen?

Gwen: It wasn't a threat.

Margo: Well, what was it?

Gwen: She saw me with Casey earlier and she got kind of upset.

Margo: What did she say exactly?

Gwen: That I should stay away from Casey, because of Lia.

Margo: What about Lia?

Gwen: She said that Lia is dead because she got too close to Casey.

Dallas: And did you get a look at the person who ran out of the cabin? What about size -- build? Big? Small?

Maddie: No, I don't -- not big. The same size as the person that attacked me.

Jade: I told you she's crazy.

Casey: You don't know what you're talking about!

Jade: I know what I heard.

[Casey remembering]

Maddie: If you don't stay away from me, you can be next.

Margo: How about you, Casey? Did Maddie ever say anything that sounded like a threat to you?

Casey: No.

Margo: Are you sure?

Casey: Yeah.

Dallas: Something doesn't add up.

Maddie: I'm telling the truth.

Dallas: Look, when you were attacked, you couldn't remember anything about the person --

Maddie: I couldn’t. I know -- I'm just saying -- just forget it, okay, just forget it.

Dallas: See, that's the thing. That's the thing! When people change their stories, cops find that kind of thing a little hard to forget.

Margo: Will, you're being awful quiet.

Will: What do you want me to say?

Margo: Okay, I guess the next thing we have to do is figure out where Maddie’s been tonight.

Dallas: I think I can answer that.

Announcer: Coming up on "As the World Turns" --

Dusty: I look at him and I see Jen's eyes.

Lucy: They're beautiful eyes.

Holden: You don't care about Lucy. All you wanted to do was get Luke to Malta so you could get his money.

Damian: It was more than that, Luke.

Holden: What are you gonna say now, that you love him?

Will: Is this because of the stupid sweatshirt thing or because of what happened with Rose?

Casey: Hey. My mom's guys want to take us to Memorial.

Will: Look, we're not done.

Casey: Yeah you are!

Jade: Look who joined the party.

Dallas: Is everyone all right?

Margo: Where has she been?

Dallas: Hiding outside.

Margo: She's been making a lot of noise about Casey and Gwen tonight.

Dallas: She claims she came here to see you.

Margo: I need a cast of her shoes. Her's and Will’s.

Casey: Why?

Margo: For prints.

Casey: What, you're going to arrest her?

Margo: Casey, we haven't even started investigating what happened here tonight. When we're done, I will release her back to Henry and Eve.

Jade: Are you kidding me?

Margo: Oh, I have had just about enough of you night. [Cell phone rings] Hughes.

Dallas: That's a pretty nasty arm.

Gwen: I'm fine.

Will: No, she needs a doctor.

Gwen: No, I want to answer questions. I want the cops to catch whoever did this.

Will: Gwen, its okay.

Gwen: No, it's not okay! Lia and Nate are dead, and if you hadn't have gotten here when you did --

Dallas: Did anyone even get a look at the guy?

Gwen: He turned the lights off, he had a face mask on.

Casey: And a hoodie.

Dallas: Will?

Will: No, it was too dark --

Margo: Dallas, we've got a report of gunfire at the airport. You want to take it and I'll finish up here?

Dallas: No problem.

Margo: Thanks.

Cop: Forensics are here, Detective.

Margo: All right, great. Seal off the perimeter. And get some uniforms down here to keep an eye on the place. And tell miller that I want him to take a footprint impression out underneath the bedroom window and I want to see if it matches up to the shoes of these two. Will, you've got to move out of here until the crime scene is cleared.

Will: Its okay, I can go to my dad’s.

Margo: Okay, great. And I get to talk to Lucinda Walsh and explain to her why there's cops all over the place before she freaks out. So are you ready, Maddie?

Jade: You're going to let her go?

Margo: Do you have a problem with the way I'm running this investigation?

Jade: Yes, I have got a problem with you giving her a free pass to kill another innocent kid.

Luke: So, you're not dying.

Damian: No, Luke, I'm not.

Luke: You knew. You tried to tell me.

Holden: At least it's out in the open now.

Luke: Why?

Damian: It was imperative that I get you to Malta as soon as possible. I knew you'd never leave your mother or your new baby brother unless --

Luke: Unless -- unless you told me that you were dying!

Damian: I was desperate, Luke.

Luke: So everything, everything from day one was just about money.

Damian: No, no, I love you, Luke. I truly believe you'd be happy with me. That we could be as father and son.

Luke: So when were you going to tell me that you're not dying?

Damian: When I knew you wanted to stay with me, rather than feel obligated to stay.

Jack: I just talked to Meg. There's been an explosion at Fairwinds.

Holden: What happened?

Jack: You want to tell him?

Damian: What?

Jack: Damian's friend tied up Lucy and Dusty Donovan down in the wine cellar. Apparently there was some kind of gas leak.

Holden: Is anyone hurt?

Jack: Lucy was hurt.

Luke: Lucy?

Jack: But everything's okay now.

Holden: You would actually let her die because she got in your way?

Damian: Of course not! Look, I never would have -- Sergio -- he must -- Luke, I never would have hurt her. You know that, right?

Holden: You don't care about Lucy. All you wanted was to get Luke to Malta so you could get his money.

Damian: It was more than that, Luke!

Holden: What are you going to say now, that you love him?

Damian: Of course I love him. I loved him enough to want to undo the damage you've done, Holden! If I had raised Luke, he would have grown into a man to be proud of.

Holden: I am proud of him.

Damian: A true man, Holden. I wouldn't have allowed anything less.

Dusty: You didn't hurt me, Sweetheart.

Lucy: Every day I relive that morning I released Jennifer from the hospital --

Dusty: You shouldn't talk about it anymore.

Lucy: But I knew and I didn't tell you --

Dusty: Sometimes you just gotta let it be, okay?

Lucy: Is that what you're doing?

Dusty: Most days, yeah. Johnny and I hit the park. Check out the zebras. His eyes light up. I look at him, and I see Jen's eyes. It makes me smile.

Lucy: They're beautiful eyes.

Meg: An emergency crew is coming to take Lucy to the hospital.

Dusty: I can take her.

Meg: No, no, no, that's too dangerous. Your lungs are unstable in fact, I should check on them right now.

Lucy: I'm fine, Meg.

Dusty: Give it up, Doctor. Listen to the nurse.

Emily: Paul stopped by to check on me.

Susan: How thoughtful.

Paul: Well, maybe I should just get out of the way. If you type in the macros, it'll take you right to the spreadsheet.

Susan: What is he talking about?

Emily: Paul figured out "The Intruder's" books for me.

Susan: Is there no end to your talents?

Emily: Oh, Mother --

Paul: We'll see. Look, Em -- serious, will you think about what I said before about the stress?

Emily: Yeah, I will.

Paul: Thanks for everything. I can see myself out.

Susan: I wasn't planning on it.

Paul: Bye, bye --

Emily: Could at least try to be civil?

Susan: Have I just entered the twilight zone?

Emily: You know, don't make such a big deal out of Paul being here tonight. Please?

Susan: I won't, if you won’t.

Emily: When I didn't answer the phone, paul got a little concerned, and so he came by to check on me.

Susan: Is that why you turned it off? To raise a red flag?

Emily: Will you stop, please? Stop looking at me like that Mother, the baby moved.

Susan: And you had to share that with Paul?

Emily: He's the father!

Susan: That's a fact I keep trying to forget.

Emily: Okay, you know what? What was I supposed to have done?

Susan: Pretend it's the phone. Don't answer.

Emily: Well, you know what? For your information, he helped me out with the books. Now I don't have to sit up all night trying to figure it out. And he's right. He's right -- the less stress I have in my life, the better it is for the baby.

Susan: Emily, you have to keep your distance from that guy.

Emily: Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me, Mother? Would you look at me? I'm like a beached whale. I give Shamu a run for the money --

Susan: You are beautiful, and that is not the issue. That guy has not done one good thing with his life. So the next time Paul Ryan shows up at your door, try to remember that.

Meg: Hey --

Dusty: How are you?

Lucy: I'm okay.

Bob: Hey, how you feeling? Things look pretty good. You were lucky that Meg was on the scene.

Meg: Are you doing a broncoscopy?

Bob: Well, Lucy clearly inhaled a toxic substance that she was severely allergic to.

Lucy: I'm fine. I can't stay. Damian was taking Luke away. I need to know that he's okay.

Dusty: The cops will deal with it. And if Luke’s gone, he's gone.

Dallas: Get him out of here.

Cop: You got it.

Dallas: Are you okay?

Jack: Oh, yeah, Dallas, thanks.

Dallas: Let's get him to Memorial, okay?

[Jack laughs]

Jack: I don't have to go to Memorial.

Cop 1: Hey, what about his friend?

Holden: Arrest him. He was trying to take Luke to Malta.

Damian: He's my son.

Holden: Not legally.

Dallas: Look, I'm gonna see if I can talk to the D.A., get him on a kidnapping charge. But I'm going to need statements.

Damian: I've committed no crime.

Dallas: Then you've got nothing to worry about.

Holden: Hey, you sure you're okay?

Jack: Yeah. I'm just going to wait for Dallas to get back. But you and Luke, you can go. I'll catch up later.

Luke: No, I don't want to go. I need to talk to you.

Damian: Of course.

Luke: Alone.

Jack: All right, fine, stay in eyesight.

Damian: Luke, you know in your heart this was not a kidnapping.

Luke: Then explain the gun to my head.

Damian: I'd never allow Sergio to hurt you.

Luke: Oh, yeah, 'cause I'm worth so much alive?

Damian: Don't talk like that, please, don’t.

Luke: So, what did you mean when you said that you want to make me a son to be proud of?

Damian: Simply that.

Luke: Happy, successful?

Damian: Yes. Luke, you would have thrived on Malta, as my son, a Grimaldi.

Luke: Oh, your straight son.

Damian: That would have been your decision, not mine.

Luke: Because -- because you accept me as is, right?

Damian: Yes.

Luke: So then it would have been cool for me to bring guys home, you know, hang out, maybe even get in a long-term relationship.

Damian: Or discover that's not how you want to live.

Luke: And start to like girls? Maybe date? Get married? Have kids, the right way?

Damian: Luke, you should have children.

Luke: And maybe I will. In case you didn't know, Damian, science has caught up to freaks like me.

Damian: Don't call yourself that --

Luke: Why? You think it, why not say it?

Damian: I don’t. No one has encouraged you to see things differently. Look, it takes a young man a long time to understand what he wants from life. You need time away from these people, from these influences --

Luke: You sound like that guy. Kreeger --

Damian: I'm thinking --

Luke: Kreeger! That Ross Kreeger guy! You were the one who called him.

Damian: He has some great success, Luke.

Luke: So that was the plan? That was it? You were going to have Kreeger take me to one of his camps and then -- then what? When I came back a stud, you'd take me to Malta and rob me blind?

Damian: You want simple answers, Luke. I have none. My only wish is for you to have a full and happy life. You can't understand what that means to me. You're not a father.

Luke: Neither are you.

Louis: We're grateful, Detective.

Henry: Are you okay?

Eve: Where was she?

Margo: Outside of Lucinda Walsh’s cottage.

Henry: What were you doing there?

Margo: There was an attempted murder. Maddie was hiding outside. She claims she saw the guy run off.

Eve: Did anyone --

Margo: No, no -- no one was killed. He was scared off.

Henry: Since when were you the woodsy type, huh?

Margo: Well, Casey was there.

Maddie: I wanted to talk to him.

Louis: Was the boy attacked?

Margo: My son and Gwen Munson were, yes, but they're both lucky.

Louis: You really think Maddie could take on two people?

Margo: You know, I don't have any real proof right now, but if you want to keep your little sister out of jail, I advise you to have a 24-hour alibi for her.

Will: You don't believe what Casey said.

Gwen: I have to get my things.

Will: You know me. Better than anybody. I would never lay a hand on you.

Gwen: I don't want to talk about it.

Will: Is this because of the stupid sweatshirt thing or because of what happened with Rose?

Casey: Hey, my mom's guys want to take us to Memorial.

Will: Look, we're not done.

Casey: Yeah, you are.

Will: Gwen, please, just give me a few minutes, and then I promise, I'll leave.

Gwen: Fine. Okay.

Casey: Yell if you need me.

Jade: How's your head?

Casey: None of your business.

Jade: Maddie said she was going to do everything she could to keep you guys apart. I guess she gave it her best shot.

Will: Gwen, after the attack, you said you loved me.

Gwen: Could you hand me that towel?

Will: Just hold on, look at me for a second. For a minute there it felt like we'd be okay.

Gwen: Just because I don't think that you attacked me, it doesn't change things between us. You slept with Jade and you lied about it for months.

Will: Do you really think I could do this?

Gwen: No.

Will: At least let me drive you to Memorial.

Gwen: No, it's okay. Casey's going to take me.

Will: Gwen --

Gwen: No, Jade's waiting for you. Did you forget? I haven’t.

Susan: Here you go.

Emily: Ooh, that is not a fudge sundae.

Susan: Really?

Emily: Thanks.

Susan: Need anything else?

Emily: Got an MBA?

[Emily laughs]

Susan: Emily, you would tell me --

Emily: Tell you what?

Susan: If, um -- if Paul was --

Emily: Was what?

Susan: Was getting to you again?

Emily: He's not.

Susan: Good.

Emily: It's getting late, Mom.

Susan: Don't stay up too late.

Emily: Okay --

Susan: You, either.

Emily: Your daddy loves you so much. He loves you very, very much.

Paul: Hey.

Meg: Hey.

Paul: I got your message. What happened?

Meg: There was a problem at Fairwinds. But I got somebody to cover with my patient and brought Lucy in. How did you make out with Emily?

Paul: Better than expected.

Dusty: You've got to let the cops find Luke. You just got to breathe, I guess.

Lucy: Is smiling okay?

Lucinda: Are you all right?

Dusty: She's fine. I called your grandma.

Lucinda: Yeah, thank you. Thank you very, very much. This on top of what's going on in the cottage.

[Lucinda chuckles]

Dusty: What's going on at the cottage?

Lucinda: Ahh later. And where is Grimaldi? In jail, I hope.

Dusty: I don't know.

Lucinda: No, jail is too good for him. And you, young lady, you must know now, I hope, that never is there a sufficient reason for you to put your life in jeopardy -- never again. Now I'm going to give a hug to the hero of the moment.

[Lucinda sighs]

Luke: How long?

Damian: How long what?

Luke: How long would you have left me with Kreeger? A month? A year? Until I was a real Grimaldi?

Damian: You are a Grimaldi.

Luke: You made me think Kreeger was Mom's idea. But it was you! Because of you, I blamed her. Because of you, my mother could die.

Will: Casey can take Jade back.

Gwen: I have to finish packing.

Will: Why are you even going ?

Will: Why can't you stay at Carly’s, or here? I'm sure it'll be okay once the cops are done.

Gwen: I can't stay here, Will.

Will: Why not?

Gwen: Because it'll feel too much like being with you.

Will: Fine.

Jade: Ready?

Will: Yeah, let's get out of here.

Jade: Where to? Your dad's?

Will: No.

Jade: Where are you staying?

Will: I don't care.

Jade: Well, thanks to you, I have a decent place to stay, so -- why not stay with me?

Casey: You okay?

Gwen: Did he leave?

Casey: Yeah.

Gwen: He wanted to know why I wasn't staying at Carly’s.

Casey: Did you tell him it was none of his damn business where you stay anymore.

Gwen: No, I didn't put it exactly in those words.

Casey: Why? You should have gave him hell.

Gwen: You know, he's not the one who broke in here and tried to kill us.

Casey: Right, no, he was just somewhere else with Jade.

Gwen: And I should be glad about that.

Casey: But instead, you're wondering if you should be more mad that your husband tried to kill you or that he was with another woman while someone else tried to kill you.

Gwen: That's not actually very funny.

Casey: Right, that's why you're going to stay with me instead of Carly’s. 'Cause right now, you need some of my sick, twisted sense of humor.

Gwen: Doesn't your head hurt?

Casey: Tremendously. How's your neck?

Gwen: I don't know, I'm scared to look in the mirror.

Casey: Oh, let's put it this way, you might want to stop off and get a few turtle necks on the way home from the hospital. Either that or just learn how to it so you can make your own.

Gwen: I can't wait to put it on my day planner -- learn to knit.

Casey: It'll give you something to do with your hands when you want to strangle will.

Gwen: Thanks.

Casey: For what?

Gwen: For being mad at the same things I'm mad at. Trying to make me laugh, giving me a roof over my head. I could keep going, the list is actually really, really long.

Casey: No, no, please do, actually, I like it when people make lists of the right things I do instead of the wrong.

Gwen: And I hope you know that earlier I wasn't trying to put it on Maddie.

Casey: I know --

Gwen: It's just hard to figure out what's true and what's not right now.

Casey: Tell me about it. Truth is, I don't know what's going on with Maddie anymore.

Eve: Honey, why won't you tell us why you were there?

Maddie: I have. You won't believe me.

Henry: Hold on -- hey, kiddo. Hold on.

Maddie: Henry, I would never hurt Casey, ever.

Henry: I know.

Louis: I hear you were crazy about the guy. I know it's hard answering the same questions over and over again.

Henry: Look who grew a heart.

Louis: Maddie, you're like my kid sister, too. You know that, right? You got a lot of people pretty upset tonight.

Maddie: I didn't mean to.

Louis: I know that. Come on, let's talk -- just the two of us, like we used to. You can tell me what's going on inside that head of yours.

Announcer: On the next "As the World Turns" --

Emily: Somebody shot you, Jack? Are you all right? Who -- who did it? Did they catch him?

Jack: You're not my wife anymore, Carly. It's not your job to worry about me.

Louis: Maddie, wait --

Henry: That's enough.

Dallas: Your son here is going to have to press charges.

Luke: Looks like I'm not the only one.
