Carly: Oh, hi. I'm sorry I'm late. The traffic on main was a nightmare.

Chardonnay: I know what you mean. I got tied up there this morning.

Butch: What do you think you're doing?

Carly: Hi, Butch, I'm here for my shift.

Butch: No you're not. You're fired. Effective immediately.

Carly: Fired? Why? What did I do?

Butch: Let's just say I heard a few things about you. And from a very reliable source.

--------------------------------------------------

Jade: You're in love with Kevin.

Luke: You don't know what you're talking about.

Jade: I understand that it's private and if you don't want to talk about it, fine, I get it. But I want you to know that you can trust me. Anything that you say, I swear, it stays here. I had a friend in high school who fell in love with his best friend, and I know it isn't easy, especially when it's new and you don't know what it all means or how the other person feels.

Luke: Kevin doesn't know anything about this.

Jade: I'm not going to say anything to anybody. I've seen the way that you look at him. I think your dad has, too. I think that's why he went off on Kevin the way that he did.

Luke: And now Kevin thinks it's his fault. And it's not. None of it is his fault. It's all me.

Jade: What's all you? I can help you, Luke, but you've got to tell me what's going on. Because I don't want to assume, you know, that you want to be with this guy if you donít.

Luke: Well, it's just that -- he's really important to me. And I think about him all the time, and I don't know why. It just happened.

Jade: When was this?

Luke: Last summer. Right before school. We drove up to the lake to this place we go to every year. It's kind of like a last rite. And we raced out to the raft. For the first time, he beat me. And he was so obnoxious about it. You know, he was making such a big deal about it. He was doing this little dance like a football player in the end zone. And I was laughing at him and he pushed me off the raft. And then he jumped on me and tried to dunk my head under the water and I just -- I wanted -- I wanted --

Jade: You wanted him.

Luke: And I still do.

--------------------------------------------------

Barbara: Paul was found at the cemetery well within town limits. You can't railroad him for jumping bail.

Hal: He hid your grandson from you, Barbara, or have you forgotten that?

Barbara: He was trying to protect the family from Craig Montgomery.

Jennifer: Excuse me, the issue here is Dusty. Where is he?

Barbara: Well, I'd find that out if your father would let me to talk to my son!

Hal: No one is talking to Paul. Not until he's been arraigned.

Barbara: You're not going to drag him in front of a judge without his lawyer present.

---------------------------------------------------

Emily: Dusty is missing. Meg has his wallet, his license, everything. We don't have much time. What do you know about this?

Paul: What do I know about Dusty's wallet?

Emily: Now don't play dumb with me. I know you, remember? The police are getting ready to put out an APB on Dusty. They're taking his disappearance very seriously and they think you're involved.

Paul: Me? I'm sitting here chained to a table.

Emily: Well, maybe you sent Meg to do your dirty work? Wouldn't be the first time you lured a woman into doing something illegal, now would it? Did you promise to marry her, too?

Paul: You are way off base here.

Emily: Meg has his wallet and it's covered in blood.

Paul: Maybe she found it.

Emily: Maybe you told Meg to get rid of him.

Paul: What -- you know what? I don't even know what you're talking about here, Emily.

Emily: You know you would do anything to protect Jennifer. I know that first hand. And now that Dusty's back in her life, I wouldn't put it past you to sick Meg on him.

Paul: That is not what happened.

Emily: So what? She acted alone?

Paul: Look, I don't -- I don't know what happened to Dusty, all right? But Meg and I, our relationship is about one thing -- she helped me get better because you shot me. And once I was healed, we pretty much went our separate ways. Why would Meg want to hurt Dusty?

Emily: Because she loved him and he dumped her. And unfortunately, we both know what that can do to a woman. Trust me, it ain't pretty.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Emma: Meg? What did you just throw in the river?

Meg: Mom, what are you doing here?

Emma: I asked you a question.

Meg: Nothing -- a stone, I was just making a wish.

Emma: Meg, I really hate it when you lie to me.

Meg: I can't believe you're following me now.

Emma: What did you say?

Meg: Did you ever think that maybe I'd like a little bit of privacy instead of you spying on me and asking questions about every little thing?

Emma: I am not spying on you!

Meg: Then what are you doing here?

Emma: I was on my way to the farm and I saw you standing here on the bridge and I got worried.

Meg: I'm not going to jump, Momma, if that's what you're afraid of.

Emma: Well, I don't know what to think. I mean, ever since you called it quits with Dusty, you've been all over the place. One minute you're going to leave town for good. The next minute, you're staying. I mean, you're like a nervous cat. Look, Sweetheart. Whatever it is you've done --

Meg: Why is it me that's always done something, Momma?

Emma: Well, maybe it isn't you. Maybe it's Paul Ryan. They've just arrested him. And Jack -- Jack thinks that you're involved. He's been looking for you. I mean, he just called me on the cell phone and I spotted you on the bridge and he said he's on his way over.

Meg: He's coming here now.

Emma: Yes, he told us to stay put. That he'd be right here.

Meg: Okay, Momma, listen to me. You can't tell Jack anything about you seeing me throw something over the bridge.

Emma: Why not?

Meg: It's important! Okay? Just promise me. I've never been more serious in my entire life. Just promise me!

[Emma sighs]

Emma: Meg, I -- I don't know if I can do that.

--------------------------------------------------

Paul: How do you know that Meg has Dusty's wallet?

Emily: Henry found it in her hotel room. I saw it and she admitted it. Why are you covering for her?

Paul: I'm not covering for her.

Emily: Okay, good. So then you won't have a problem if I go to the police?

Paul: What? And tell them what? That you broke into Meg's room? I don't think you should tell them that.

Emily: Believe it or not, I am trying to help you out here. That's why I didn't say anything to Hal about the wallet. And I won't if you think it's going to make things worse.

Paul: I think it'll make things worse for you. Look, Hal isn't happy with either one of us right now. And if he thinks even for a minute that you're trying to help me, who knows what he'll do.

Emily: So I shouldn't say anything?

Paul: No. Meg saved my life, Emily. I think you should thank her. Instead of ratting her out. Even though I'm sure she hasn't done anything.

Emily: Oh, she's done something. I just don't know what.

Hal: Damn it, I knew it. Get out of here, Emily! Now, before I arrest you. You're going to tell me what happened to Dusty Donovan right now.

-----------------------------------------------------

Jade: Look, I realize that not everyone's going to agree with me, but as far as I'm concerned, love is love. And if you love Kevin, great.

Luke: You don't understand. I would give anything to not feel this way.

Jade: Why?

Luke: Look what's happened. I mean, my dad's practically banished him from my life and I can't talk to Kevin about it 'cause he doesn't have a clue.

Jade: I thought you said Kevin was your best friend.

Luke: He is.

Jade: So doesn't he know you? How you think? How you're feeling?

Luke: No, not about this.

Jade: Well, what are you afraid of?

Luke: Isn't it obvious?

Jade: No.

Luke: Okay. I tell Kevin how I feel.

Jade: Mm-hmm.

Luke: That I'm in love with him. And he hates me, A, because he doesn't feel the same way, and B, because now I'm gay.

Jade: He's not going to hate you.

Luke: You don't know that.

Jade: Yeah, I do. You wouldn't be friends with Kevin in the first place if he wasn't a nice guy. He's not going to turn on you for something like this.

Luke: Okay, okay, well maybe he won't turn on me. Maybe he'll say everything right, you know, just to spare me the embarrassment. But it would still be just so weird. He'd feel uncomfortable. I'd feel really uncomfortable.

Jade: Or he'd throw his arms around you.

Luke: Oh, come on, Jade. The chances of that happening are like zero to none.

Jade: How do you know he's not having the same feelings you are and he's just as scared.

Luke: Yeah, he is scared. He's scared of my father. I don't blame him. My dad -- he can't even comprehend the possibility that his son might be gay. I mean, he just -- he won't even look at me.

Jade: Your father loves you.

Luke: He used to. Until he started wondering how i felt about Kevin. And that's the way it's going to be with everybody.

Jade: No, it's not. Listen, I know that this is scary, but you can't pretend to be something you're not. It'll really mess you up.

Luke: Or it'll make it a lot easier for everybody else.

Jade: Forget everybody else. You should be proud of how you feel. Love is a gift. Okay, and I know we've all had crushes on people that didn't even know we exist, but this is different. I know that Kevin cares about you.

Luke: Okay, well, even if he did -- no, no, no, I can't even let myself think about that.

Jade: Why?

[Jade chuckles]

Luke: Well, it's not like I'm going to get a chance to talk to him. You know, my dad keeps me on lockdown, 24/7. I feel like I'm a prisoner in my own house.

Jade: I think we can fix that. If you trust me.

--------------------------------------------------

Carly: What have you heard about me, Butch? Because I'd be happy to clear up any misunderstandings.

Butch: No, there's no misunderstanding. The party in question happened to mention how you have a habit of shooting your mouth off about what goes on here.

Carly: Oh, no, no, no, that's not true.

Butch: That's not true? So my friend's a liar?

Carly: He's mistaken.

Butch: No, I don't think so. And since I told you when I hired you that what happens here stays here --

Carly: And I heard you loud and clear, Butch, and I haven't said anything to anybody.

Chardonnay: I woulda heard something, Butch. And nobody said nothing to me. Tiff's as quiet as a mouse, I swear.

Butch: Ohh! And you're with her round the clock now?

Chardonnay: Well, no.

Butch: Then shut up!

Carly: Butch, Char's right. I haven't said anything and I won't say anything. I need this job.

Butch: Well, that's news to me. You've yet to make any kind of an effort. You're late. You make excuses.

Carly: No, no, no, I donít.

Butch: What about the time you were supposed to dance and you disappeared? I had guys on my back for days over that.

Carly: Butch, that won't happen again.

Butch: Oh, you're right, it won't happen again.

Carly: Butch, there's gotta be something I can do to make it up to you. I'll do anything. I'll work extra shifts. I'll come in early. I'll clean the men's room.

Butch: You want to make it up to me?

[Carly nervously]

Carly: Uh-huh.

Butch: Why don't you get your little butt in the back room and slide out of that uniform? Hmm? And then get changed and go home. And don't come back, 'cause I'm telling you, the next time I'm not gonna be so nice.

Carly: You got me fired?

Nick: Yeah, I did. Payback's rough.

Carly: You had no right.

Nick: I told you I wanted you out of here and you refused.

Carly: The only reason that you wanted me out of here is because you're afraid that Jack is going to show you up.

Nick: This is my collar.

Carly: Jack is your partner.

Nick: You want to make it up to Jack? Why don't you try having a little faith in him instead of running around here dressed like this in a place like this?

Carly: Didn't seem to bother you much.

Nick: Oh, is that the reason you're here, Carly? Because of me?

Carly: What is that supposed to mean?

Nick: You could've thought of 100 different ways of backing your husband. But for some reason, you decided to spend your nights with me.

------------------------------------------------------

Jade: Give me a chance, Luke. Let me help you.

Luke: No, you've done too much already. Like the other night when you covered for me about the concert.

Jade: It was no problem. Just like it was no problem when I told your dad you were riding when you wanted to see Kevin.

Luke: Yeah, but Jade, I can't keep asking you to lie for me.

Jade: Well, you'd do it for me, wouldn't you?

Luke: Yeah.

Jade: So it's a good cause.

Luke: Okay, well, even if I could grab some time with Kevin, it's just -- no, it's so much of a risk.

Jade: Yeah, it is, but it's worth it to tell him how you feel.

Luke: Don't hold your breath.

Jade: Luke, what if, I mean, he felt the same way you did? Wouldn't you be so devastated if he didn't tell you?

Luke: You don't understand. If he walked away -- you know, at least this way, we're still friends.

Jade: That can never see each other.

Luke: I just don't want to lose him.

Jade: Wait, don't you understand? You already have. Down by the bridge, what did he say to you?

Luke: That we could never see each other anymore.

Jade: So? How much worse could it get?

Luke: A lot worse. Because at least -- at least this way, he was as upset as I was.

Jade: And what does that tell you?

Luke: That no matter what I do, I'm always going to make someone upset.

Jade: It'll be okay. Mr. Snyder, hi.

Holden: What was that all about?

Jade: He's a little ticked off.

Holden: Obviously. But why?

Jade: This is hard. I know that I told you I'd keep you in the loop, but, I just don't want Luke to feel like he can't trust me.

Holden: Jade, if my son is angry at me, I think I have a right to know why.

Jade: The thing is -- all right, he found out that you yelled at Kevin and he's not happy about it.

Holden: Hmm.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Hal: We know that Dusty came to see you at your motel room. That you argued. That he left and you didnít. His car is still in the parking lot. And we found his blood on your cane.

Paul: You're wasting your time. I've got nothing to say to you.

Jennifer: Emily. Look, I know that you love my brother and that he hurt you pretty badly, but I mean, you obviously still care about him. You came all the way down here to talk to him, didn't you?

Emily: I just wanted to make sure that he was all right.

Jennifer: Emily, did he hurt Dusty? I know that he resented him and we have all this evidence that they were together and that there was a fight. And now Dusty is gone and no one can find him. Emily, please. If you know something about what Paul did, you have to tell me. Okay, I know how Paul is and I know how much in the past you've wanted to protect him. But if we can find Dusty before it's too late, it will be better for everyone. And even if -- even if Paul did something unforgivable --

Emily: You know what? I think you and your mother should talk to a lawyer before anybody makes a statement.

Jennifer: Emily, you owe me. After everything that's happened. I dropped the charges against you and I tried to be compassionate. Can't you just please tell me what you know?

-------------------------------------------------

Emma: Look, I know -- I know you're in trouble, honey. So if you won't talk to me, maybe your cousin will help. I mean, why don't you talk to him?

Meg: I can't do that.

Emma: Why not?! I mean, he's used to dealing with problems. For heaven's sakes, he's a police officer.

Meg: That's exactly why I can't do that and why he can't know what happened here. Just say it.

Emma: You have done something illegal?

Meg: Yes, I broke the law, Momma, okay? Are you happy? [Emma sighs] Of course you're not, but -- but you aren't surprised. After all, it's Meg. We all knew she was headed for disaster.

Emma: Now, Meg, just stop it. Just stop it. Don't do that to me. You know that I don't think that way.

Meg: I know that. But I let you down again and I didn't plan to. I just got caught up in something and there's no excuses. It's just the way it is.

Emma: Look, sweetheart, no matter what it is, we can make it right. We can make it right. Look, I'll get you a lawyer.

Meg: I don't -- I don't need a lawyer.

Emma: Well, you just said that you broke the law.

Meg: Only if someone finds out. Look -- look, no one has to know that you saw me throw something over the bridge. As far as you know, it was a star and I was making a wish, that's all. There's nothing wrong with that.

Emma: Once you lie, it just never, never stops. You're gonna have to tell another lie to cover up that lie and before you know it, sweetheart, your whole life becomes a lie.

Meg: Look, I'm not asking you to lie. Just don't volunteer anything. We don't have much time.

Emma: And what if Jack asks me how you're doing?

Meg: Tell him I lost my job -- my boyfriend. I'm a mess. I'm confused. I'm unhappy. And that's not a lie. But if you tell him that you saw me throw something over the bridge, then you might as well just sign my death warrant, 'cause my life is over.

Emma: Oh, Meg.

[Jack clears his throat]

[Jack sighs]

Jack: Okay, I'll start. What are you doing out here on the bridge at this time of night?

---------------------------------------------

Announcer: Coming up, on "As the World Turns" --

Carly: What you said before about helping me out, did you mean it?

Chardonnay: Anything you need, sugar.

Carly: Because there is something that -- that you could do for me.

Nick: I'm gonna tell you something that I should have told you a long time ago. And you're not gonna like it.

Paul: I can't do this. I can't lie to you again, Jennifer.

-----------------------------------------------------

Carly: Let go of me!

Butch: Hey, she bothering you?

Nick: As a matter of fact, yeah.

Butch: Tiffany, you got ten minutes to be out of my face or I'm gonna lose my manners.

Carly: Sure thing, Butch. This isn't over.

Nick: Oh, yes it is.

Chardonnay: I've never seen Butch so angry. What happened?

Carly: It's a long story and most of it's my fault.

Chardonnay: Oh, I don't believe that. You're one of the nicest people I've ever met.

Carly: Thanks.

Chardonnay: Anyway, I'm real sorry you're leaving. I liked working with you.

Carly: Me, too, Char.

Chardonnay: You gonna be okay?

Carly: I don't know. I needed this job. It was supposed to make all the difference.

Chardonnay: Maybe I can help.

Carly: You think that you could get Butch to change his mind?

Chardonnay: Not Butch. He's stubborn as paint. But I may have a way to help you make some money.

------------------------------------------------

Meg: I didn't realize it was a crime to look at the moon.

Jack: If that's all you're gonna do.

Meg: I come here all the time, Jack. To think. It's peaceful and I like it. Anything else you'd like to know?

Jack: Is that true, Emma? Was Meg stargazing?

Emma: Its dark, Jack. She was driving a car, talking to you on the phone. I mean, she was lucky she saw me, let alone the expression on my face. And why are you bothering her?

Meg: Can't you see she's worried enough as it is? I've lost my job, my boyfriend. I don't know what I'm doing from one day to the next, so she's worried. And you're just adding to it.

Jack: And you're not worried?

Meg: Me? Of course I am. I need to figure out what I'm gonna do with the rest of my life. Unlike you, I don't have a home and three kids and someone to love.

Jack: And the fact that we just arrested Paul and he's about to be arraigned, that didn't figure into your plans?

Meg: Should it?

Jack: You have anything to add to this?

Emma: No.

[Cell phone rings]

Jack: Excuse me. Snyder?

Nick: I need to see you. Meet me in Java in ten.

Jack: I'm in the middle of something.

Nick: This can't wait.

Jack: I've got to go. Maybe we can -- we can get back to this some other time?

Meg: Can't wait.

Jack: Good night, Emma.

Emma: Night.

Meg: Thank you.

Emma: Don't you dare make me a part of this. I didn't lie to him because there was nothing to add on, because I don't know what's going on.

Meg: No, you don't, Momma. And that's a good thing.

Emma: Oh, a good thing, huh? That my daughter is lying to me? To herself? To the police?

Meg: Do you want me to go to jail?

Emma: Do you belong in jail, Meg? Is that what you're telling me?

Meg: Nobody belongs in jail, Momma, not if they could help it.

Emma: Where are you going? You're going to the courtroom, aren't you? See Paul? Yeah. That's what it's about, isn't it? That's what this is all about. Oh! Oh, Meg, what have you done?

-------------------------------------------------

Hal: Good news. They've moved your arraignment to the front of the line.

Paul: Oh, great. Let's go.

Hal: You know, I gave up trying to understand you years ago, Paul. But this -- do you understand what you're facing? The old charges of keeping Jennifer's baby from her, obstruction of justice, accessory after the fact and now these charges for jumping bail? You're going to prison. There's no way around it, no matter what you've done to Dusty.

Paul: Is there a point to all this, Hal?

Hal: Have a little mercy on your sister. If you know where Dusty is, tell me.

Paul: I can't do that.

Hal: Well, then, I hope they lock you up and throw away the key.

--------------------------------------------

Emily: Paul didn't get a chance to say much of anything. I mean, your father busted in and threw me out.

Jennifer: But you know something. I can tell.

Emily: You're right, Jen. I do owe you. I know how much you care about Dusty and how much you want this to be over, but -- you saw Paul. He's in really bad shape and he's been in custody since last night. Whatever happened to him with Dusty --?

Jennifer: We know. We know they were together. The forensics proves it.

Emily: Okay, well, maybe they were. But how did he make it back to the cemetery? Paul and Dusty? What happened to Dusty? Where did he go?

Jennifer: Well, you're assuming that Dusty was able to leave once he saw Paul.

Emily: It's all assumptions, Jen. That's all we've got. That's the problem. But, see, Paul isn't the only one in Oakdale who had a problem with Dusty.

Jennifer: What do you mean by that?

Emily: Well, see, I don't think that Paul's the reason Dusty's disappeared. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine.

---------------------------------------------------

Holden: Did Kevin contact Luke?

Jade: No. But Kevin told one of his friends that you'd sort of lost it with him. And his friend thought that he should call the cops.

Holden: The cops?

Jade: I wasn't there but I guess you were pretty scary. But Kevin's not going to call the cops. So don't worry about that. But the friend called and complained to Luke. And I guess he was pretty embarrassed. Because Luke had thought he had handled it. And then you did what you did and it sort of made it seem like you still think he's a little kid.

Holden: That's not what I meant.

Jade: I know. It's hard. You were just doing what you thought was right. Luke has been sick. He's needed a lot of support. It's hard to know where to draw the line.

Holden: But I overstepped it.

Jade: That's the way Luke sees it.

Holden: Are you sure he's not upset because he cut things off with Kevin?

Jade: No. I mean, there wasn't really anything to cut off. They're friends. Or they were. You know, I think you were wrong about -- about the gay thing. I mean, they're -- Kevin was really there for him when you and Lily were having problems and, I don't know, the drinking was never really a big deal to Luke. I just think he's just as happy to be on his own. I really think you can relax.

Luke: What's going on?

Jade: Oh, nothing.

Holden: Jade and I, we were just talking about you. I know you wanted her to keep what you told her private -- and I'm sorry about this, Jade -- but I think Luke has the right to know that I know the whole story.

Luke: Dad.

Holden: Luke, its okay. I understand. And I'm sorry.

-------------------------------------------------

Chardonnay: I've got a kid to support. A little boy? And we can't make it on the tips I make here, so I've got a couple of friends who help me out.

Carly: What? What does that mean?

Chardonnay: You know, boyfriends? I've got a couple regulars I see once or twice a week. And its cash money and they can be real sweet.

Carly: Oh, oh, I see.

Chardonnay: And it's not bad. I don't go with anyone I don't like. And sometimes we get to talking. They give me stock tips and stuff. And one guy sold me real estate.

Carly: Well, that's -- Char, I'm really glad that's working out for you.

Chardonnay: Well, the thing is, there's been some inquiries, if you know what I mean. A couple of the fellows asked if you were interested. I haven't had a chance 'til now to talk to you about it, but if you are interested --

Carly: Wow, right. That's -- it's tempting. And I'm so grateful that you are looking out for me. But the truth is, there's this man that I love. And he loves me too. I've hurt him so many times. That's actually why I'm here. I'm trying to make it up to him. You know, I just couldn't cheat on him. It would break his heart. It would break my heart.

Chardonnay: That is the sweetest thing I ever heard. Look at me, I'm tearing up.

Carly: No.

[Carly laughing]

Chardonnay: Oh, God. I got mascara. My face?

Carly: No, Char, you're beautiful.

Chardonnay: This man of yours, it's not that Nick guy?

Carly: Oh, hell, no. No!

Chardonnay: I didn't think so. I just had to ask since he's so into you.

Carly: What are you talking about?

Chardonnay: You are in love.

Carly: No, no, I'm serious. What are you talking about?

Chardonnay: Where's your radar, girl? That man can't take his eyes off you. He's got it bad.

----------------------------------------------------------

Emily: Good, you got my message.

Henry: Yeah, you called everybody but my mother.

Emily: You know what? That's actually a good idea. Maybe you should give me her number just in case -- I'm just kidding. It's a joke.

Henry: What do you want? What do you want?

Emily: What, I -- where's Meg?

Henry: Well, I haven't seen her since she caught me rifling through her drawers.

Emily: So you don't know what she's doing?

Henry: What am I, a psychic, Emily? No, I do not know what she is doing.

Emily: Excuse me, it's just a question. There's no need to get your boxers in a bunch.

Henry: Well, where did you go? You ran out of here before we could make a plan.

Emily: I went to the police station.

Henry: The police station?

Emily: Yeah.

Henry: Emily, do you realize how many laws we have broken? If you tell the police that Meg has Dusty's wallet, she will tell them that I broke into her room.

Emily: No she wonít. Dusty's missing.

Henry: Missing? And you think Meg --? Ooh, that naughty nurse.

Emily: Yeah, looks like.

Henry: Did you tell the police that Meg has Dusty's wallet?

Emily: No. I told Paul.

--------------------------------------------------------

Jennifer: Emily says he's innocent, that someone else is involved.

Paul: That's wrong.

Hal: Let's go.

Paul: No. Look, I can't do this. Not again. I can't lie to you again, Jen.

------------------------------------------------

Luke: You're sorry?

Holden: I should have trusted you. You told me -- you told me that you'd cut things off with Kevin and I believed you. But I guess I just thought that Kevin would keep hassling you. I interfered and embarrassed you in front of your friends. I hope that you can forgive me for that. I apologize.

Luke: Sure, sure, dad. It's okay.

Holden: I hope so. Because I love you.

Luke: I love you, too.

Jade: I told him that one of Kevin's friends called and complained about coming down on him so hard that you were embarrassed.

Luke: You're amazing.

Jade: Not really.

Luke: No, you're a -- you're a miracle. That's the third time you've saved me.

Jade: I guess you owe me.

Luke: Yeah and then some.

Jade: Eh, what are cousins for?

----------------------------------------------------------

Jack: What is so important that it couldn't wait?

Nick: Jack, sit down. I'm going to tell you something I should have told you a long time ago. And you're not going to like it.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Carly: You think that Nick is interested in me?

Chardonnay: Honey, the man's tongue is hanging out his mouth. You walk by and he's like a puppy smelling puppy chow. It's pathetic.

Carly: Oh. Look, honey, I should go. Butch is gonna be all over my case.

Carly: Char, wait. What you said before about helping me out, did you mean it?

Chardonnay: Anything you need, sugar.

Carly: Because there is something that you could do for me and there's money in it.

Chardonnay: Ah, now you're talking. What do you have in mind?

Carly: I need you to be me.

-----------------------------------------------------

Henry: So your ex let you see your ex?

Emily: Hal let me see Paul? Are you kidding me? I had to sneak past Hal.

Henry: And if he'd caught you?

Emily: He did. He did, but not before I had at least five good minutes with Paul.

Henry: What did he say?

Emily: About Meg? Nothing. But it seemed like it was news to him, that Meg had the wallet and it was covered in blood.

Henry: So what are you thinking here, that she's flying solo?

Emily: Yes! Yes, it seems obvious to me. She's furious with Dusty and, you know, I don't blame her. He dumped her for another woman. Jennifer, of all people.

Henry: Jennifer's a nice girl.

Emily: Exactly.

Henry: Spoken like a she-devil. What has gotten into you today, Emily? You're positively glowing.

Emily: Really?

Henry: Yeah, really.

Emily: Am I? I don't know. I mean, I just -- I saw Paul.

Henry: Oh, right. Well, good for you. Hey, let's talk about my money which is wasting away in your undisclosed location.

Emily: No, no. Not yet. Not until Paul does whatever he has to do to get out of this. And he will. I know he will.

-------------------------------------------------------

Jennifer: So tell me. Where is Dusty? What did you do to him?

Barbara: I don't think we should say anything until a lawyer arrives.

Hal: We're not waiting for anybody. He's due in court.

Paul: No, Hal, you said you wanted to hear what I have to say.

Hal: I'm tired of your theatrics, Paul. You got something to say? Say it to the judge.

Paul: Yeah, well, that's not fair to my mother and that's not fair to my sister. I don't want them subjected to scrutiny because of something I've done. Now I was going to tell you after the arraignment but we're here now.

Barbara: I can't emphasize enough that we need to not say another word until a lawyer is present!

Paul: Mother, it doesn't matter. Not anymore. After what I've done, I deserve everything that comes.

Jennifer: What do you mean? What do you mean? What have you done?

[Paul sighs]

Paul: I did it. I killed Dusty.

--------------------------------------------------

Announcer: Next week, on "As the World Turns" --

Maddie: All right, let's get this ceremony on the underway.

Will: So I guess we're all set.

Priest: Yes, well, about that.

Will: The ceremony?

Jack: Freeze! Police, drop the gun!

[Gunshot]

Jennifer: You're alive and my son is alive so that means that Dusty is alive, so you tell me! Tell me that you didn't kill him!
