Paul: What is this? What the hell is going on here?

Rosanna: Paul --

Paul: What the hell is going on here?

Rosanna: Paul, I can explain.

Paul: No, I don't -- I don't want to here your explanations. Get up. Come on. Let's get this over with.

Rosanna: Donít. Come on, donít.

Jordan: You cheap son of a --

Paul: This is your night for stupid moves. Make another one. I'm right here. Come on.

Rosanna: No! Don't! Stop! Don't! Don't do it!

Aaron: Ali? You crying? Look, if this is because of that meeting with the minister went bad --

Alison: That was fine. That was fine.

Aaron: Oh, so you're still getting married. Great. What's wrong? Why the tears, huh?

Alison: Chris and I had a fight.

Aaron: Another fight? Over what?

Alison: Lobster or salmon or tuna. He stormed out, and he left me here with all this.

Aaron: Alison, honey --

Alison: It's just premarital tension. Everybody says that that's normal.

Aaron: So you're telling me, all across America, at any given moment, there are brides and grooms-to-be, arguing day after day, putting their engagements in jeopardy? Is that what you're saying?

Alison: Not if they're lucky enough to have a sister like Emily. She's after Chris right now, and she's gonna fix everything.

Chris: How did everything get so out of control?

Emily: How do you mean?

Chris: Ever since Ali and I got engaged, nothing's gone right. Okay? We can't agree on anything, and instead of fighting, I just let her have her own way.

Emily: Well, that's a bad idea.

Chris: She's scared of my mother, my mother hates your mother --

Emily: My mother hates your mother.

Chris: Choosing the menu is a life-or-death decision. This is supposed to be one of the happiest times of our lives, and Alisonís so busy trying to plan the perfect wedding, it's making both of us miserable. Okay? And then I escaped over here to pick out a cake, and that's not even right.

Emily: Okay, so we'll find another bakery.

Chris: No, no, no. It's not about that, Emily. I don't know if I can go through with this.

Hal: Hey, there, Parker.

Parker: Hi.

Hal: How are you?

Parker: Why are we here?

Hal: Well, all the cops that Jack used to work with, they have something very special that they would like to give you.

Parker: Okay.

Hal: Right this way.

Dusty: Breathe. Come on, baby. Stay with me. Stay with me.

Lucinda: What were you thinking? Dear, what were you thinking, allowing Alan to make the ransom drop all by himself?

Sierra: The kidnapper insisted.

Lucinda: But darling, you should have contacted the police.

Sierra: He said if we went to the police that Lucy would die.

Lucinda: That's a lot of money just to be throwing around.

Sierra: The only thing that matters is getting Lucy home safe and unharmed.

Lucinda: I am aware of that, my darling, but how do you know that the kidnapper will release her when he's got the money?

Sierra: He said to follow his plan, and that's what we're doing. And if we just stick to the plan then she will come home safe.

Lucinda: Oh, I wish -- I just wish -- I mean, couldn't you have briefed me before any of this happened?

Sierra: We knew that you'd behave like this.

Lucinda: I hope you're not making some ghastly mistake.

Sierra: Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Lucinda: And who else was in on this plan, please? Was Lily in on it? Where the hell is Lily?

Craig: I got you! I got you.

[Lily screams]

Lily: Craig, I'm slipping! I'm slipping.

Craig: I got you! Come on. Its okay, I got you.

Lily: I'm gonna fall! I'm gonna fall.

Craig: No, you're not!

Lily: I'm gonna fall! Please don't let me die! Oh, God!

Alison: "Sea scallops on sea salt ensconced in a sea shell topped with beluga caviar."

Aaron: Mm. And this? Oh, killer!

Alison: That's the "bison carpaccio on crostini with black truffle."

Aaron: Love it.

Alison: See, you should be the one helping me choose my menu. It's supposed to be fun. Like this. Chris acted like he didn't care what we ate. I wonder if he's cooled off. Do you think it's too soon?

Aaron: Yeah.

Alison: Okay, maybe you're right. I'll call Emily.

Aaron: Ali, Emilyís been gone, like, 10, 20 minutes? Give her some time, okay? Talking sense to that guy is not as easy as you think. Trust me.

Alison: Be nice.

Aaron: I am being nice.

Alison: So why did you track me down? So you could just drive me nuts?

Aaron: No. The next clue to the "keys to the kingdom" contest is tomorrow.

Alison: Oh, that's great.

Aaron: No, that bites. Because remember that Kevin kid? That dork, you know, with all the keys already? He needs one more and he's gonna win.

Alison: Okay, this is not making me feel any better.

Aaron: Ali, this is supposed to remind you that there's more to life than carpaccio and tuna truffle and angry fiancťs.

Alison: How?

Aaron: How? I'll tell you how. Tomorrow, we go at the City Times loading dock, all right? Get the paper right away, get a jump on Kevin. If we work on this hard and fast, we'll find that key before Kevin even gets a hand on the paper. What do you say, partner?

Alison: Right after I get an update from Emily.

Emily: It's called cold feet. I've seen it a hundred times.

Chris: This is supposed to be the best time of our lives.

Emily: Okay, that is the biggest lie in the book. Oh, man. They make all these engagement ring ads and these five-tier wedding cakes, they make them look so pretty and enticing, and they tell you a bunch fairy tales, because if anybody told you the truth, nobody would be walking down the aisle. Nobody. I hate to be the one to tell you, but it's never a lot of fun.

Chris: That's encouraging.

Emily: You know, to tell you the truth, you can plan all you want, but things are gonna turn out the way they turn out. I mean, look at my wedding to Hal. It that was an intimate, sophisticated, carnival of horrors. An -- Alison shows up, remember, blasting that rock music, dressed in fishnets and proceeds to dance like a two-dollar stripper in front of your mother, and then, of course, chased after Aaron.

Chris: That sounds familiar.

Emily: Yeah. Oh, and then Barbara shows up, takes away my 12-year-old best man. Did I tell you I never got a honeymoon? See, the path to true love is rarely straight or smooth, but we did it. We said our vows and became husband and wife.

Chris: And lived happily ever after.

Emily: Yeah, something like that.

Rosanna: This should help keep the swelling down.

Paul: Thanks. What about me?

Rosanna: I don't know. Will your head fit in this?

Paul: You're angry at me? You're mad at me? You're making out with this guy, and I'm just supposed to be okay with that?

Rosanna: I wish I could make you understand.

Paul: Yeah, make me understand, please. Please, make me understand. All the plotting and scheming so that you could get me and Jennifer out of town so you could, what? What? Seduce my brother? You know, she set this whole thing up. You know that, right?

Jordan: Yes, I do, and I understand why.

Rosanna: I'm sorry. I wish you didn't have to find out this way.

Paul: Find out what?

Rosanna: Jordan and I have decided to make a go of our marriage. For Cabot's sake.

Paul: We've discussed all of this, all of us -- we've all discussed this.

Rosanna: Jordan is my husband, and we both want the same things.

Paul: Great, all of a sudden you decided that the thing you want most is each other? That's just great. That's perfect. Yeah. That makes perfect sense. What about my sister? You remember Jennifer, Casanova?

Rosanna: Jordan is gonna explain to Jennifer that they can't be together anymore.

Jordan: Look, Paul, I realize that this is abrupt and that you're disappointed, but we're doing what we have to do as parents, and I don't think you understand that.

Paul: No, I don't understand that. This stinks. And this little tap-dance thing that you two are doing right now, I don't buy it. Not even a little bit.

Rosanna: I can't do this.

Jordan: Rosanna, we agreed.

Rosanna: Not this way. No, he doesn't believe us. It won't work. We have to tell him the truth.

Dusty: Breathe for me, baby. Please. Stay with me. Stay with me. Stay alive. Breathe! Breathe! Okay, you got it. [Lucy coughing] It's okay. You're gonna be okay. Thank God you're okay.

Nikki: How do you feel, Lucy?

Dusty: Relax, its okay. You're gonna be okay. It's okay. It's okay to cry. Be a tough girl, though. Don't cry too much. All right? Did you call for help?

Nikki: Yeah.

Dusty: Yeah? Call Sierra.

Nikki: I'm on it. I'm on it.

Lucy: Thank you. Thank you so much.

Dusty: You're okay now. You hear me? Thank God. Thank God.

Lucy: I was sure I was -- I was so scared.

Dusty: It's okay.

Lucy: I didn't want to die.

Dusty: It's okay. It's okay. It's okay, you're safe, I got you. Hey, you're safe. You hear me?

[Lily screaming]

Craig: I got ya. I got ya.

Lily: Craig, I'm gonna die! I'm gonna fall.

[Lily screaming]

Craig: I got ya, I got ya, I got ya.

Lily: I can't do it!

Craig: Come on, yes, you can. Come on, I got ya. Okay. I got you, okay?

Lily: Okay, okay, okay.

Craig: Okay, okay, almost. Almost. All right. Okay. All right. Okay, okay. Okay. That's it. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. You okay?

Lily: Okay. Lucy. We need to find Lucy.

Craig: Yeah.

Operator: 911, what's your emergency?

Craig: I need help. We need an ambulance, we need police. St. Mary's bell church, near Lutherís Corner.

Operator: What's your emergency, sir?

Craig: My daughter has been kidnapped. The kidnappers are dead. Okay? But I need to know about my daughter. Lucy Montgomery. Could you put me with someone who could help me, please?

Operator: I've dispatched help to your location.

Craig: What about my daughter?! My name is Craig Montgomery, her name is Lucy.

Operator: Your daughter has been located and rescued, sir.

Craig: What? Really? They've found her. She's okay.

Craig: It's over. It's over. It's over. It's over.

Lily: It's over for all of us. Especially you. .

Craig: I walked in, Alan and Wade arguing over the ransom, they were going to walk off and let Lucy die.

Craig: Just like that?

Lily: If only I'd listened to you about Alan sooner.

Craig: Poor Sierra.

Lily: She loved him so much.

Craig: We're alive. Lucy's alive. That's what's important.

Lily: I wouldn't be here without you. Look at that. Look at you. Look at all this blood.

Craig: Oh, no. It's gonna be all right. It'll be all right.

Lily: You saved my life. I'll never forget that.

Craig: Oh. Hey, hey.

Paul: You're going to consummate your marriage because James wants you to?

Rosanna: It's the only way we can guarantee Cabotís safety.

Paul: This is not what you want.

Rosanna: No, we don't want to. We have to.

Paul: Think I could talk to your wife for a moment alone?

Rosanna: It's okay. I'm fine.

Jordan: Call me if you need me.

Paul: She's not gonna need you. Rosanna --

Rosanna: No, wait. Wait. I'm sorry. Lying to you was killing me. I felt terrible about it, but it was the right thing to do.

Paul: For whom?

Rosanna: For Cabot.

Paul: Oh, right, yeah, no, it's definitely the right thing to do with a kid, to have his parents follow the ravings of some lunatic madman in a federal penitentiary.

Rosanna: Look, I'm sorry.

Paul: You can't do this, Rosanna. You need to stop, now, before it gets any worse.

Rosanna: I've made my decision. I'm sorry, you're just gonna have to learn to accept it.

Paul: No. I will not accept anything that has to do with losing you.

Rosanna: Don't make this harder than it already is.

Paul: I'm gonna make it impossible. I'm in love with you, Rosanna. And I think that you're in love with me. Hey -- look me in the eye and tell me that I'm wrong.

[Phone ringing]

Margo: We'll miss him, forever. He meant a lot to us and he gave us a lot, so we would like to give you something. This is for your room. There's one for you, and there is one for Sage.

Parker: Thanks.

Hal: We're having one blown up to hang in the corridor outside the squad room. That way, everybody who comes in will see Jack, and they'll think about the sacrifices he made, and he'll live on in our hearts forever. We'll keep him alive by remembering him.

Margo: We know that Jack would want you to have this. We found it at the site.

Parker: I can't take this.

Margo: Why not?

Parker: It's Jackís. He'll need it when he comes home.

Chris: No matter how hard we plan the perfect wedding, I understand that it's not going to be perfect.

Emily: Nothing is perfect. But as long as your expectations aren't too high, you'll do just fine. And I promise you this cold feet thing -- it's a temporary affliction.

Chris: I'm just not sure I'm ready for all of this.

Emily: All of what?

Chris: You know, when I think about invitations and china and wedding guests my mind -- it goes blank!

Emily: That's okay. None of this stuff lasts forever. I promise you, you are going to get to your vows, and you're gonna look into --

Chris: The vows. Those words. Forever is a really long time.

Emily: Are you saying you don't want a big wedding? Or that you don't want a wedding at all?

Dusty: How is she doing?

EMT #1: A few scratches and bruises, some dehydration, she looks good.

EMT #2: They'll give her some I.V. fluids at the hospital.

Lucy: The hospital? Do I have to go?

Nikki: They need to check you out. Okay?

Lucy: I'm fine. I just want to go home.

EMT #1: That's not a good idea.

Dusty: Can you give me a minute? Just a moment. Everyone knows you're a tough girl, but you're going to the hospital. You're going. For me, you're going. Okay?

Lucy: Dusty, no. I don't want to go.

Dusty: Did Wade -- did he hurt you? Did he -- tell me the truth.

Lucy: He hit me. He knocked me out.

Dusty: You're going to the hospital, all right? First class, in and out, and then I'll take you home.

Lucy: I'm fine.

Dusty: Well, let's get the official word. Okay, boss? If something had happened to you --

Lucy: It didn't -- thanks to you.

Dusty: I'm never letting you go again.

Sierra: You know, Mother, I don't really have the energy to argue with you.

Lucinda: I don't want to argue. I'm just trying to understand how intelligent, thoughtful people can go about organizing a ransom in such a simplistic way.

[Phone ringing]

Sierra: That's my phone. Hello?

Nikki: Sierra? Hi, it's Nikki Munson.

Sierra: Have you found my daughter?

Nikki: We have. She's fine.

Sierra: Are you sure?

Nikki: She's right here with me. They're getting ready to take her to the hospital.

Sierra: They've found Lucy!

Lucinda: Oh, thank God --

Sierra: The hospital?

Nikki: Just as a precaution. She's got some contusions, scratches, she's a little dehydrated.

Sierra: Can I talk to her, please?

Nikki: The ambulance is ready to roll. Hey, someone wants to talk to you.

Lucy: Hello?

Sierra: Baby? Baby? Lucy?

Lucy: Mom.

Sierra: Oh, thank God you're all right. I was so scared!

Lucy: Its okay, Mom. I'm fine now. Really.

EMT #2: We've gotta roll.

Nikki: All right.

Lucy: You know, I've got to go, but I'll see you soon, okay?

Sierra: I love you, baby! I'll be right there!

Nikki: We'll drop her off at home after. Okay?

Sierra: No, please. I can't wait another minute to see her. I'll meet you at Memorial. She's safe.

Lucinda: You are blessed. You are a blessed woman. Blessed, my darling.

Sierra: Well -- you can lecture me all you want --

Lucinda: I'll talk to you later.

Lily: Sierra.

Sierra: Lily --

Cop #1: Miss Esteban, I have some news.

Sierra: Well, you'll have to tell me later. No, better yet, let my mother handle it. I got to get to Lucy.

Craig: No, no, Sierra, this can't wait.

Sierra: Something went wrong with the ransom drop? What went wrong?

Craig: Lucy's fine.

Sierra: I know. I've talked to her. What about Alan? Where's my husband? Is he at the station?

Cop #1: Come with us, the detectives will explain.

Sierra: No, no. I canít. I need to get to Lucy.

Cop #2: We'll take you to your daughter as soon as we can, but now --

Cop #1: -- We really need you to come with us.

Sierra: I don't understand.

Craig: It's a criminal matter, Sierra. And since you took matters into your own hands, the police just need to dot their "Is".

Sierra: All right.

Lucinda: I'm coming with you, baby.

Sierra: No.

Lucinda: Yes.

Sierra: Stay here with Lily. I'll call you later.

Lily: I love you.

Sierra: I love you. Officers?

Lucinda: All right, will someone tell me what is going on?

Lily: Just let Sierra talk to the detectives.

Lucinda: Look, darling, I've been kept in the dark quite enough. You are hiding something from Sierra and I want to know what it is.

Lily: Craig and I were right about Alan. He was behind the kidnapping. And he's dead.

Hal: There's something else that we wanted you to have. It's from the 10-13 fund.

Carly: 10-13?

Margo: Officer in trouble. It's money for bills, vacation -- anything you need.

Carly: Thank you.

Hal: Feel like taking a walk, son?

Parker: Okay. I'll be back, Mom. Okay?

Carly: Okay. I love you.

Margo: Poor little guy. It must be really hard for him to accept this.

Carly: Yeah. I don't know how to help him accept Jack's death when I can't accept it myself.

Margo: Carly, you know, we did everything we could. We stayed out there and we searched as long as we --

Carly: No, no. I know -- I know that in my head. But it's my heart that won't believe that Jack's not coming home. That I'll never hear him call my name, that he'll never put his arms around me again.

[Carly sobs]

Rosanna: How I feel about you doesn't matter.

Paul: How you feel is the only thing that does matter, Rosanna. You don't belong with that guy. You don't belong with Jordan Sinclair.

Rosanna: Look, none of this is his fault, okay?

Paul: I know that. Look, I know who's fault it is. I know that this is James' fault. He has been trying to control my life for as long as I can remember. But I am not going to lose you because of James.

Rosanna: There's nothing that we can do. Your father has made his terms abundantly clear.

Paul: So what am I supposed to do?

Rosanna: You're supposed to walk away.

Paul: No, I'm not going to do that.

Rosanna: Well, you have to.

Paul: This isn't going to work.

Rosanna: It has to work.

Paul: No, you don't even love the guy.

Rosanna: It doesn't matter. I will give up that kind of love for my son.

Paul: Really? How long do you think that is going to last?

Rosanna: What I think doesn't matter. What I feel doesn't matter. Your father has told me that I have to choose between you and Cabot. And, I'm sorry, I am choosing my son.

Nikki: Why don't you tell me everything that happened from the time you arrived at that bell tower?

Craig: First I want to know about my daughter. Where is she?

Nikki: Dusty will be bringing her home any minute.

Craig: Dusty.

Nikki: You didn't hear? He saved her life.

Craig: Lullaby! Oh!

Lucy: Grandmother.

Lucinda: Hello, darling. Good to see you, sweetheart.

Lily: You're okay? You sure you're okay?

Lucy: Yeah. Yeah. What happened to your arm?

Craig: Ah, nothing. I'm fine.

Lucy: Where's Mom?

Craig: She's -- she's with the police.

Lucy: Why?

Lily: There's just some formalities that she wants to go through.

Craig: She's going to be overjoyed to see you.

Lucinda: You hungry? You need something to eat?

Dusty: She's gotta eat until she's stuffed.

Lucinda: Okay. Well, Rosa will whip you up something wonderful. Come on.

Lucy: I can find something. Come with me?

Craig: Hold it, Dusty. Thank you for bringing my little girl home.

Aaron: Now that you know what I think of your menu, I'm outta here.

Alison: You can't leave me.

Aaron: Ali, I am not going to sit around here and wait for a phone call that may or may happen. All right, now I'm going to the docks. Are you coming with me? Or am I just gonna have to find another partner?

Alison: Well, I'm not letting that map-stealing, pond-drinking dork take my dreams. I mean, that money is mine.

Aaron: I don't know, I mean --

Alison: No, I'm going and I'm going to win.

Aaron: That's what I'm talking about. Let's go!

Club rep: Alison, I need your menu choices today, dear. After all, weddings don't plan themselves.

Aaron: Can we do this later, some other time?

Alison: Okay, you find supplies and I'll finish here. And I'll meet you at the loading dock.

Aaron: Ali, don't leave me hanging.

Alison: Would I ever? I wonít. All right. Okay, what do I want to have?

Emily: Come, on. Get to the point. Do you not want a big wedding? Because speak now or forever hold your peace.

Chris: Look, look, Emily -- it's not about big or small. Okay, and it's not about Alison. She's young. She's impulsive. She's great, okay?

Emily: Yeah, I know she is. You can say that again.

Chris: Yeah, and when I've been up all night and I come home from the hospital, she makes all my problems just melt away. Okay? At the end of the day, she makes me happy.

Emily: Yeah, I know. I can tell. She's grown up a lot since she's been with you.

Chris: Yeah, I know she's got such a big heart, you know? She's always tries to do the right thing but --

Emily: But what? But what? Come on, you can say it. You can -- you can say anything to me.

Chris: I'm just lucky that I have her.

Emily: I think she's the lucky one. Having a guy like you Ė

Paul: So you think you're prepared to settle for a loveless marriage?

Rosanna: We'll learn to love each other.

Paul: I don't think love is something that you learn. I think it's either there or it's not. If it is there, it's undeniable. It's inescapable. It's wonderful. And I also think that you already know how this feels because you're in love with me.

Alison: I can't decide. I can't decide without my mom or Chris here. I'll just call and reschedule.

Club rep: I can hardly wait.

Emily: Hi, I'm sorry I can't answer right now. Leave your message after the beep. Bye.

[Answering machine beep]

Alison: Hi, Em, it's me. Did you find Chris? Make sure that you tell him that I love him and I can't wait to be his wife. And whatever made him lose his temper, we can get past that because we can get past anything. Thank you a million. What would I do without a sister like you? Okay, I love you. And call me.

[Alison sighs]

Chris: I've made a lot of mistakes along the way.

Emily: Yes, you have. But you're more than making up for them now. I mean, you got a great job. You know, I hear you got quite a gift. In fact, I know you do. I can tell. You know, the way you connect with people, you spend time with them, tune in to what they really need. You're handsome as all --

Chris: Oh, give me a break.

Emily: You are. And you're humble. And I can't imagine having a better partner in the keys contest. I'm not kidding. A good partner is tough to find. Any girl would be lucky to have a guy like you. You have grown into an extraordinary man, Christopher Hughes. And that is all you are getting out of me today.

Chris: I'm glad we talked.

Emily: Yeah. Me, too. So? You good? You know what you want to do now?

Chris: Yeah.

Emily: Good.

Chris: I do.

Craig: When I got there, I saw Alan and Wade fighting over the ransom money. Alan saw me, shot me.

Lucinda: Alan did? You're not mistaken? It wasn't the other character, Wade?

Lily: It was Alan. I was there. I saw everything.

Craig: And thank God you were there, otherwise I probably wouldn't be here now.

Lucinda: May I ask a question? If Alan hired the kidnapper, why was he arguing him about the ransom?

Craig: Oh, who knows. A deal gone bad. At least we now know who's behind all this.

Dusty: Hard to admit. It was you. Isn't it, Craig? You were the only one who wanted Lucy abducted. Because of you, she almost died.

Lucy: What did you say? Dusty, what are you talking about? Daddy? Dusty? Somebody say something. Daddy, come on. Tell me the truth.

Carly: I thought after we survived Julia, we could survive anything. That you'd always come back, no matter how many crazy, reckless things I did. Something always made us back together because that's where we belonged. You were my true north, my home, my life. You promised me forever, Jack! This isn't fair. I wasn't finished with you. I had so many plans. Parker -- you're his hero, you know. He's so busy taking care of me, making sure I'm all right, just like you would do. And Sage -- I'll make sure she knows what a good man her daddy was. And how much he loved her. You will always be a part of me, g-man. I'll see you in Sage's eyes and Parker's big heart. He searched for you, you know. When you left us, he went into the pond. His heart stopped beating. And he described a place that sounded like heaven, and he said he saw you there, Jack -- you and Nora. He said you weren't leaving us. And I believed him for so long. I did. But now they tell me I have to say goodbye. How can I say goodbye to you? I canít. I wonít. Maybe someday I will learn to live without you. But I will never stop loving you. Never.

Julia: You're awake. You've been gone a long, long time.

Next week, on "As the World Turns" --

Aaron: Alison, there's something I have to tell you about your future husband.

Jack: You're Julia.

Julia: That's right. I'm Julia.

James: Down, down, down! Go, go!

Jennifer: You look like you've seen a ghost.

Jordan: Worse. I -- I could have sworn I just saw James.
