Mike: Why can't you move the senator? I really need that penthouse.
Henry: Whoa, whoa. Penthouse? What, did the Kasnoff family trust fund finally kick in?
Mike: Not now, Henry.
Henry: Wait, wait a second. First you got bangles and baugles and beads, and now the penthouse? I smell a dead aunt. How'd it go at the jewelry store, by the way?
Mike: Not bad.
Mike: I got this.
Henry: Does that mean what I think it means?
Mike: It's an engagement ring.
Henry: Yeah, I know it's an engagement ring. The point is how do you plan to get engaged?
Mike: The old-fashioned way, I guess.
Henry: What are you talking about? No string quartet? No fireworks? No biplane with a big banner that says, "Marry me Katie?"
Mike: A what?
Henry: Oh, man -- I've got my work cut out for me, don't I?
Katie: I don't know, it just feels too good to be true, you know? To find love again. It scares me.
Margo: Honey, you deserve every bit of happiness --
Katie: Well, I know you didn't ask me down here to talk about my love life.
Margo: No, no, I didnít. This envelope came from Australia yesterday.
Katie: What is it?
Margo: It's Simonís death certificate and the final estate papers.
Simon: G'day, mate. You remember me, huh? How are ya little fella? Oh, so who's this? A new friend or is it somethin' more serious, huh? So, what else have I missed around here?
Dusty: I'll find Paul myself if I have to, all right?
Holden: What's going on? I got a call from Jack.
Lily: I'm glad you're here.
Dusty: Ryan escaped.
Holden: I thought Barbara confessed.
Dusty: She lied.
Lily: She was covering for Paul.
Holden: How do you know this?
Lily: We found more evidence.
Dusty: There's all kinds of information on Paulís computer about methanol. How to get it; use it, the whole nine yards.
Lily: Before they could put it into evidence, they put Barbaraís confession on hold. Then Barbara just snuck out of here during the recess.
Dusty: Paul's gone, too.
Holden: So they're looking for both Barbara and Paul now?
Dusty: I'm gonna go to the police station, see what they've got.
Lily: I'm gonna go with you.
Holden: Lily, why don't we just wait at home?
Dusty: Yeah, he's right. You're tired.
Lily: No. I have to see this through. I owe it to Rose.
Holden: We both do. So, let's go together.
Susan: Here's the EKG for your patient in cube two was normal.
Chris: Oh, great. This has been one crazy day.
Susan: Yeah, crazy. Ah -- look, I know you're swamped --
Chris: Yeah, and they just radioed in a head trauma.
Susan: Oh, busy, busy. I know it's a bad time, but -- I don't even know why I'm asking you, but have you heard from Alison?
Chris: Alison? No, I assumed that she took some time off.
Susan: No. I'm afraid it's more than that. So, if you hear from her --
Hal: Chris! Chris! Hurry!
Susan: Oh, my God. Emily?
EMT #1: We've got a blow to the head. Possible fractured skull.
EMT #1: In and out of consciousness.
EMT #2: Bp's one hundred over fifty.
EMT #1: Pulse one hundred.
Chris: Uh-huh, call radiology; tell them we'll need a CT of the head and neck. Page Dr. Harris, we're gonna need a neurosurgical consult.
Susan: Hal, what happened?
Hal: Barbara attacked her and took Will.
Chris: Let's get her to a room!
Hal: I'm coming.
Susan: No, no, no, no! You wait here. I'll be out as soon as I can.
Hal: It's Munson! I want a status report! All the airports?! Why not?! Nothing moves from any of those terminals until I say so! How about Paul Ryan? I don't want excuses! I want answers! You track down Barbara Ryan and my son and you let me know the second you hear anything!
Paul: It's all over, Will. I know the truth. We can't go back. I know -- I know you killed Rose.
Barbara: Don't listen to him, honey. Don't listen to anything he says.
Paul: It all makes sense now, doesn't it? You had to protect your "son." How many times did I have to hear you say that, Barbara?
Barbara: I did protect you. I poisoned Rose because I wanted her gone and I'd do it again.
Will: Mom, stop it! It's true, Paul. I got the poison. I went to her house. I did it. Rose died because of me.
[Cell phone ringing]
Hal: Jen, it's me.
Jennifer: Oh, hi Dad, how's Emily?
Hal: I don't know. Susan and Chris are with her.
Jennifer: Well, Dad, I've searched the whole house. I've searched the family room cabinets and the basement -- I can't --
Hal: I think Emily said the kitchen -- side cupboard, I think she said. Jen, just keep looking. Just keep looking and when you find it, you print out any e-mails to or from Barbara. Go back as far as you have to.
Jennifer: Okay, Dad, I will. I'll let you know as soon as I find anything. And you call me the second you know anything about Emily.
Hal: I will, honey.
Jennifer: Hang in there, Dad, okay. I love you, bye. Okay. Here we go. Come on, Will, what have you and Mom been up to lately?
Hal: That one's from Daniel. That one's from Parker. That one's from me. Don't you slip away from me, Emily. I love you so much.
Emily: Hal -- Hal --
Hal: Yeah. It's me. If I wasn't so happy to see you, I'd let you have it for scaring the life out of me,
Emily: Will --
Hal: Shhh, Will is gonna be fine, I know he will be, honey.
Emily: No -- Barbara -- Barbara --
Hal: What about Barbara? Emily, honey, do you know where Barbara took Will? Hmm?
Susan: Hal, she can't answer any questions.
Hal: She looks so pale.
Susan: Hal, they're ready for her upstairs. If you have to use your phone, you're gonna have to stay in the ER. No cell phones allowed upstairs, okay?
Hal: Well, I'm staying with Emily.
Susan: It could take a while.
Hal: I said I'm staying with my wife.
Jennifer: "My darling, Will, don't tell another soul what you just told me. I understand, sweetheart, and we'll fix everything. Leave it to me, Mom will handle this. There's nothing for you to worry about anymore." What were you worrying about, Will?
[Beeps] "Sent" mail.
[Beep] "Dear Mom, I'm sorry I was so quiet tonight. I wasn't very hungry. I didn't feel like laughing or talking. I'm scared, Mom. I don't know what to do. I'm so sorry about what I did to Rose. I wish I could take it all back." Oh, God, Will?
Will: I didn't mean to. I just didn't want you to leave.
Paul: You went to my house, went on my computer. You thought about this, Will. You took your time. How long did you plan this for? Weeks? Months?
Barbara: Please, Paul, don't do this to him.
Paul: I'm not going anywhere, all right, I'm right here, but you need to tell me, why?
Will: I just wanted to make her sick. Just sick, that's all.
Paul: So you put methanol in her mouthwash?
Will: Not a lot.
Barbara: Honey, no more questions, okay? You don't have to answer any more --
Will: I just thought if I could stop the wedding, then maybe Rose would get scared and you guys wouldn't leave.
Paul: Couldn't you just talk to me?
Will: I tried to talk to you.
Barbara: We all tried to talk to you --
Paul: I'm talking to Will. I'm not talking to you. You gotta tell me something and you gotta tell me the truth. Did you have help with any of this?
Paul: But Barbara knew?
Will: I was scared. Mom understood.
Barbara: It was an accident, Paul. It was a terrible, horrible accident. And I told Will that everything's gonna be okay. I told him that I will handle everything and I will.
Paul: How are you gonna handle this?! You tell me, how you are gonna handle this?! Rose is gone! She's dead! How are you gonna handle that?! You don't handle anything ever again! From now on, my life, all of our lives, will never be the same.
Margo: So, how'd it go?
Katie: I just had to fill out a bunch of forms. You know, there's still the farm in Australia.
Margo: You want Tom to take a look at everything?
Katie: Yeah, maybe. I don't know, it's not that complicated. They already have a buyer attached to the place.
Margo: Well, that's good. That's really -- unless you don't want to sell it.
Katie: No, I think I'm ready to let it go, but I don't want to just sell it to just anybody. I mean, if this guy is gonna level it for condos, then forget it. I want someone to take care of the land. You know, I want a family to live there, Margo. A big, happy family who will take care of the land and pass it on to their kids and grandkids. That way it'll be like at least a part of Simon will always be alive.
Simon: So how is she, old man, hmm? Gorgeous as ever, I know, but how 'bout the rest of her? I know I put her through hell, but there was no other way. I had to die so I could come back to her. I just hope I can make her understand that.
Henry: Is that what you plan on wearing?
Mike: What's wrong with what I'm wearing?
Henry: Ah, nothing, nothing. As long as you're planning on chopping down a stand of sycamores. I mean -- now, wait, wait, okay, I'm sorry. You know what, she loves you just the way that you are. So you go ahead and get the room and pop the question and marry the girl, you know, hey --
Mike: No, no, you're right. This is the most important night of our lives. I shouldn't look like I just came from putting up drywall.
Henry: Right, right, so in that case, let's go for broke, okay? Little bubbles deserves to be swept off her perky little heels, you know, and I'm just the man to do it. Come on. Trust me. Behind these doors is the master. Sergio has the best fashion eye for the straight guy this side of Chicago. Let's go, Romeo. Time's a wastin'.
Dusty: How long we just gonna sit around, Jack?
Jack: Nobody's sitting around, Donovan.
Dusty: No? Where's Hal Munson?
Jack: With his wife!
Dusty: Which one?
Jack: You're a real class act, you know that?
Dusty: I mean, relative to Paul and Barbara, it'd be fair to say Halís extended family, right?
Jack: Are you accusing my lieutenant of something?
Dusty: No, I'm just saying, Hal is Paulís step dad. Which means his ex-wife just waltzed out of the courtroom --
Jack: Calm down --
Dusty: Now, nowhere to be found --
Jack: Calm yourself now!
Dusty: His stepson, logged onto every website containing the word methanol. What do you call this? I call it evidence, Jack.
Holden: You have to admit it looks pretty bad, Jack.
Jack: You want clear-cut answers? Yes, those printouts are evidence. Is it solid proof? No. How many people log onto your computer at Metro, huh?
Dusty: We did your job.
Jack: Let's download some files see what you got in there!
Dusty: We handed you a killer. Paul Ryan is guilty, so is his mother. What are you waiting for? Suddenly, listen to this one. With all this going down, Hal Munson can't be reached. What a surprise!
Jack: Okay, you better back off right now, you're crossing a line!
Dusty: No, I know the drill! You guys look out for your own, right? Who protected Rose, Jack? Who's out there for her right now!?
Hal: Shhhh, no talking. You just rest.
Emily: I'm -- have to --
Hal: What is it, sweetheart?
Emily: Barbara --
Hal: Barbara, yeah, she hit you from behind.
Susan: But you're gonna be okay, sweety.
Susan: No, no more talking. No, no. No more talking.
Emily: Will -- she's Will --
Hal: I know. I know she has Will, honey. The whole force is out looking for them.
Emily: Copter. Copter.
Hal: What, was that, Emily, I didn't hear that.
Emily: Helicopter. Barbara called -- helicopter.
Hal: Barbara chartered a helicopter?
Emily: I heard her -- I heard her. Go -- now.
Hal: Emily Stewart, you are one tough broad and I am so damn glad I have you. Now, you stay right here, and you do exactly what the doctors tell you until I get back here where I belong. It's Munson. Get me Detective Snyder, right away.
Jennifer: Dad, I found Will's e-mails.
Hal: Not now, Jen.
Jennifer: Mom isn't running away because she's guilty.
Hal: Jen, we'll talk later --
Jennifer: She ran away to protect Will. Dad, he did it. I saw it in the e-mails. Will killed Rose.
Hal: Oh, no. Oh, my God --
Jennifer: Dad, no, Dad, wait!
Will: You probably hate me, don't you, Paul?
Paul: I don't hate you. I never could, Will, you're my brother and I love you.
Paul: Always have. Remember, Wrigley field? 'Cause I do. I remember the weight of you on my shoulders, as I carried you. You were six-years-old. And you caught that fly ball. We screamed so much I couldn't talk for three days. If I close my eyes, and think real hard, I can still see the look on your face when I let go of your bicycle and you rode away on your own for the first time. You rode up and down your Dad's driveway, it must have been a hundred times.
Will: I remember that.
Paul: Yeah, remember? And so much of the reason that Rose and I wanted to have children of our own was because of you. Because of you. So, yes, I do love you. I do. I love you enough, to even after everything that you have done, I am still here. I am right here, with you.
Barbara: I am very glad to hear you say that --
Paul: But Will, you gotta understand that, what you say now, and what you decide to do, and I know that you are too young to understand this, but it will affect you for the rest of your life.
Barbara: He does know that. That's why we're leaving. Paul, come with us.
Paul: I can't do that. It wouldn't be right and you know it wouldn't be right.
Barbara: Come on, honey. You gotta say good-bye. The helicopter's coming, say good-bye.
Will: Will I ever see you again?
Barbara: Will, come on, honey. Let's go, okay. Will. Paul -- come on, Paul let him go it's our only chance! Come on! Paul, let him go!
Barbara: You won't regret this. Come on, Will.
Barbara: Give him to me, okay? Just give him to me. Come on, come on, Will fight him. Pull away, please! No, please! Give me my son! Let go of him!
[Barbara sobbing] Let go, let go, let go.
[Police sirens] They're coming to take him away. Do you want that! Do you want them to lock him up?! Is that what you want?! Come on, come on, let me give him a normal life. Please, please. Let him go! You won't regret this. Come on, Will.
Henry: Sergio dresses every man who's any man in this town.
Mike: What if Katie doesn't like my new look?
Henry: It's not a new look, mike. It's improved. Sergio, work your magic. What are we going for?
Sergio: I thought maybe -- metro sexual?
Mike: Metro what?
Henry: By way of Oakdale.
Sergio: Of course, Mr. Coleman.
Mike: I'm not sure about --
Henry: Why don't you just relax, okay? You're in good hands here. And don't worry; I'll take care of the penthouse. And when you're all finished, all done, come out here and show me what you've got.
Mike: In the lobby?
Henry: Yes, in the lobby. I need to see you strut. And show me you've got the stuff to turn Katieís head and make her heart yours for better, for worse and -- oh, that shirt --
Sergio: Definitely worse.
Henry: All right, let's do it, gentlemen.
They come a-runnin' just as fast as they can 'cause every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man.
Henry: And here are the rose petals. Should be enough to get you from the lobby to the penthouse.
Mike: How do you know?
Henry: There's some things a guy just knows.
Mike: I think I can handle it from here. Thank you. I mean it.
Henry: Well, nice jacket, very cool. Scoring the penthouse, that's impressive. Katie's happiness, priceless. You do anything to break her heart -- let's call the girl, shall we?
Mike: I owe you, Henry.
Henry: I'll take it out in martinis.
Margo: Are you okay?
Katie: I just told the court clerk to send all the papers over to the cottage as soon as they're processed.
Katie: How about lunch at Al's? My treat.
Margo: Oh, baby, I'd like to, but I have to get back to the station. It's just crazy --
[Cell phone ringing]
Katie: Hold on, one second. Hello.
Mike: Hey, it's me. Can you meet me at the Lakeview?
Katie: Sure. What's up?
Mike: It's a surprise.
Katie: What kind of surprise?
Mike: Just get in your car and point it toward the Lakeview.
Katie: Okay, I'll be there.
Katie: How'd you know?
Margo: Just your smile. It's beaming.
Katie: He wants me to meet him at the Lakeview. He has a surprise for me.
Margo: Well then, let's go, what are you waiting for?
Katie: Well, I don't know, it sounds kinda special. I don't want to wear this. Maybe I should head back to the cottage and change.
Chris: Hey. We're gonna move over to the fifth floor for observation.
Emily: No, no.
Chris: Hey, hey, hey. Don't argue. Ben says you're staying the night. I'll send her chart up. If you need anything, I'm on all night. Oh, if I hear anything about Alison I'll let you know.
Emily: Wait, what'd he say about Alison?
Susan: You know what they say. When it rains, it pours.
Emily: What? What's wrong?
Susan: She told me she was moving in with Aaron. But it was news to Aaron. You haven't heard from her, have you?
Emily: No, I haven't talked to Ali in days.
Susan: Where could she be? She has that money, but it's not gonna last. She told Aaron that she needed time alone. But you know your sister. She never needs an excuse to find trouble. Trouble always finds her.
Walker: Here you go, black.
Jennifer: Oh, thank you, Dr. Daniels.
Walker: Well, my friends, they call me walker.
Jennifer: Yeah, well, I'm really fine. I'm fine.
Walker: Well, medically speaking I'd say you're something close to in shock. Personally speaking I say you could use a friend.
Jennifer: Oh, I just -- I just don't know why I even got you involved in this mess.
Walker: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You didn't get me involved in anything, all right? I examined some evidence, and I thought it helped.
Jennifer: So did I. But it turns out it just made everything worse.
Walker: I'm really good at medical mysteries, Jen. But I'm not that good at riddles.
Jennifer: Well, how are you at fairy tales?
Walker: I'm a little rusty.
Jennifer: Well, see in my family the wicked witch has a stranglehold on the innocent children. And there are not enough breadcrumbs in the world for them to find their way back home.
Walker: Okay, now I'm totally lost.
Jennifer: Here, thanks for the tea and for listening.
Walker: Well, to what I don't know.
Jennifer: Well, you will soon. You know, a lot of families have skeletons in their closet. But ours seems to find a way to the nightly news.
Jack: All right, get these guys out of here.
Margo: Hey, hey!
Jack: Come on! You want to spend the night here?
Margo: Jack, Jack, what's going on here?
Holden: A press leak.
Jack: And tell your friends, I catch them inside this station, cut it out, I'll confiscate their equipment.
Holden: How did they find out?
Dusty: The hearing, it was big news.
Margo: Okay, is there any sign of Barbara?
Dusty: What do you think?
Margo: Has Hal called in?
Jack: Not yet.
Dusty: So we're just gonna sit around and wait for good Hal?
Jack: Grab a seat or get the hell out, Donovan.
Dusty: I don't like sitting by phones, Jack. I like to get the job done!
Holden: I'm gonna get some coffee.
Dusty: Did you call your mother?
Lily: Yes, "The Times" is camped outside. That was their photographers.
Dusty: What about the TV station?
Lily: TV station has a crew on their way.
Dusty: Well, good, that should keep them honest.
Lily: Why isn't Jack and Margo out there leading the search?
Dusty: Because they answer to a boss that's way too connected. It's like a big family reunion around here, you know? Barbara, Paul, Hal -- you can't trust any of these guys. And now you throw a kid into the mix. Forget about it, things are going to get worse.
Dusty: Well, what if the kids want to spend time with his mom or his brother, you know? What's Hal going to say, no? No. Tell the papers to stay on Hal Munson. Have that guy followed.
Holden: You called those reporters, didn't you?
Dusty: Relax, would you?
Lily: No, I -- I did it.
Holden: Why? Why would you want cameras want in the face of a 13-year-old boy?
Lily: But Barbara and Paul put that boy in that position, not me.
Holden: That is not you talking.
Lily: Yes, it is me! How am I suppose to make sure that Hal does his job? My sister is dead, not theirs.
Holden: Jack and Hal want to solve this case just as much as we do.
Dusty: What are you so afraid of?
Holden: I am afraid of confusing revenge with justice.
Dusty: I'll take what I can get.
Holden: Is that the way you feel, too?
Jack: Hal just called in.
Lily: Did they find Barbara and Paul?
Jack: He's got the location, he's on his way there now.
Will: Dad, I'm so sorry.
Hal: It's all right, son. It's all right.
Barbara: Hal, let him come to me, okay? Please? He's our baby. He's our son. Remember the day he was born? The joy he gave to us?
Hal: You know, she's right, Will. It was the happiest day of my life. Some days you know what it means to have a dream come true and that was one of my days.
Will: I'm sorry, Dad, I ruined everything. Can I go home, please? I just want to go home.
Hal: I don't know. I thought I did. All the way over here, I thought I knew what had to be done, but now I -- oh, Will.
Barbara: I'll give him a good home. I'll love him enough for both of us. He'll be happy. He will. Hal? Come on, Hal. Be his father, okay, please?!
Hal: Yes, she's right, Will. I have to be your father. And that means that you have to come with me, you understand that, don't you?
Barbara: No, no! No, Hal, no! No!
Will: Sorry, Dad, I never meant --
Hal: Don't say another word. Don't say another word. Not to me -- I don't want you to talk about it, not to anyone, until I tell you that it's okay. Do you understand?
Barbara: No, no, no. Please don't take our baby. Please, please, no.
Cop #1: The perimeter's surrounded, lieutenant.
Hal: Thanks, I'll take it from here. I'll take care of everything.
Henry: Honey, the last time you got out, we got a hold of another four-legged boarder, didn't we? Hmm? You should get back in your cage. Katie -- hey, gorgeous, you've got a date with destiny, you know? Wake up, sleeping beauty, your prince is charming is waiting for you. Hello, hello, hello --
Simon: What the hell?
Mike: It's for my -- oh, never mind.
Katie: Mike? What are you doing?
Mike: Well, you got here so fast.
Katie: Well, I was going to go home and change, but I was so excited for my surprise.
Mike: No, no, no, no, I have fire started and -- the pilot's running late.
Katie: The pilot? Are we going somewhere? Is that the surprise?
Mike: No. This is.
Katie: Mike, get up, people are looking.
Mike: I don't care if the whole world sees us. The only person I care about is you right now. I've waited my whole life for you - to fall in love and know that it was so absolutely perfect, that no one could ever take it away from me. You are that love. And I want to marry you. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?
Katie: Yes! Yes!
Katie: Mike, I'll marry you! I will marry you.
Lily: I'm sorry.
Holden: Forget it.
Lily: I can think for myself.
Holden: I never said you couldnít.
Lily: I'm not afraid, or crazy. I'm angry that someone took my sister away from me. And I'm trying to find out who that person is to make them pay. If that makes me unreasonable, then I'm unreasonable. I know why you're really upset.
Holden: Yeah. You and Dusty digging up evidence. You knew about those computer files.
Lily: I know, and I should've call you. I should have, I know that, but you were -- you were gone, and you were busy.
Holden: I had my cell on.
Lily: I know what you would have said, and how you would have said it to me.
Holden: Can you just give me a little credit here? I have been doing everything I can to try and keep things together. I have been terrified for you and for the kids, and when you took off --
Lily: Are you going to make me pay for that for the rest of my life?
Holden: I am not trying to punish you here. I'm trying to support you, that's all I've done. And I don't like being treated like an outsider.
Lily: Oh, I'm sorry if every single move that I make and decision I make I don't think about how it's going to effect you and the children.
Holden: Yeah, well, the difference is, I have.
Lily: You're more upset that I called these reporters than Paul and Barbara getting away with murder?
Holden: No. Lily, look, I know that you can't see past your grief, I get that, but I am not the enemy here. I love you. I will always love you. But I am selfish when it comes to us and I don't want to share you with Rose's memory or Dustyís vendetta against Paul. Now, does that mean that I don't want to find out who killed Rose? No, I want what you want. I always want what you want. But how we get it, that's where we disagree. I trust Hal, I trust Jack, but Donovan has done nothing but bring this family trouble and I don't want any more of it.
Jack: Yeah, I'll cover things on this end and alert the D.A. Thanks. Bye.
Dusty: Alert the D.A. About what?
Jack: Hal's got them, he's bringing them here.
Lily: Oh, thank God.
Jack: Lily, he got a solid confession.
Dusty: So what, she confessed already. She's confessing again?
Jack: All he said was that he had a confession.
Dusty: Want to clarify, Jack?
Lily: No. That's okay. [Rose image in window, Lilyís sees it.] It's over. It's finally over. I promised you justice and we finally got it. I love you. Don't ever forget that.
Holden: I love you, too.
Barbara: Is this what you wanted when you came back from the dead, son? To destroy what's left of you family?
Cop #1: Do you want to do this, lieutenant?
Hal: Put those things away. Take Ms. Ryan in a squad car. I'll drive Will and myself. You got a problem with that?
Cop #1: No, sir.
Hal: We have to go now, Will. Are you ready? Come on, boy.
Barbara: "Forever and ever, I'll always be your little boy." You wrote that to me when you were younger than Will. But it was a lie. You just destroyed your little brother's life and mine. You shouldn't let him go.
Paul: I would have let him go. I just wouldn't let him go anywhere with you.
On the next "As the World Turns" --
Carly: Call it.
Craig: Heads. What are we flipping for?
Carly: Your marriage. By the way, you lose, Craig.
Simon: I just need to find Katie. Just -- do you know where she is?
Henry: Do I know where Katie is?
Barbara: Do you feel better now that you destroyed my son?
