Katie: Oh, no.

Simon: Katie, stop. Stop right there. Hold it!

Katie: I'm fine.

Simon: No, you're not. Here -- come here.

Katie: Okay.

Simon: I've got you.

Katie: I know.

Simon: What are you doing? You've already done way too much now as it is. Ah, careful.

Katie: Thank you.

Simon: You okay?

Katie: Yeah, I'm fine.

Simon: Now I thought you were asleep.

Katie: No, no, I'm not asleep. I was too busy trying to figure out who you're gonna get to help you bug Marshall Travers' hotel room. And I figured it out.

Simon: Just let it go. Who -- who, who is it?

Katie: Jack Snyder.

Simon: Hmm, I wonder who it --

[knock at door]

Katie: Who else is there? Come on, Simon, please tell me! You're driving me crazy.

Henry: Simon Frasier, you're my hero. Seriously, man, I owe you my life. Whatever the job is, I am ready.

Katie: Simon, no. Oh, no! Anyone but Henry!

Alison: Are you serious? That was Rosanna Cabot?

Susan: Playing innocent doesn't suit you.

Alison: Okay, I heard you say her name, so I knew it was her. But I don't know why she called. Honest!

Susan: She told me that she just found out that the Cabot Foundation no longer funds the Wentworth academy. There's no scholarship for you.

Alison: You're kidding.

Susan: No, I'm not kidding.

Alison: I don't have to go? It happened.

Susan: What happened? You did something to Rosanna Cabot.

Alison: No, nothing!

Susan: You got her to change her mind somehow.

Alison: I'm 17. How am I gonna fight a businesswoman? Attack her with my lip gloss collection?

Susan: She sounded very fishy on the phone, and I'm gonna find out why!

Alison: Emily! I don't have to go to Wentworth. Rosanna's foundation isn't doing scholarships anymore.

Susan: And I was just leaving to go ask her why.

Alison: Don't waste your time, mom. Rosanna's not gonna feel obligated to explain herself to you. You can't believe what she says, anyway.

Susan: Unless it's the truth.

Emily: All right, mom, wait. Just -- there's something I need to tell you.

Aaron: How's your leg?

Lucy: It's better. Much better. Everything's better now that you're here. So tell me, what's wrong?

Aaron: Lucy -- Holden's sending me back to Seattle. Tomorrow.

Lucy: No, you don't just say that. You can't go. You can't!

Aaron: You should be taking care of that leg. They said at the hospital you're supposed to keep it up. C'mon, let's get you a --

Lucy: You think I care about my stupid stitches right now? How did this happen? Why is Holden doing this?

Aaron: He spoke to Caleb and my mom. They're gonna be here tomorrow night. They want me to go back with them.

Lucy: But they -- they can't take you away. I won't let it happen. Did my father have anything to do with this?

Aaron: No. It wasn't your dad. It was Holden. He's the one who decided I should go

back home.

Lucy: I thought Holden loved you. Why would he want to you to leave?

Aaron: He's got a lot going on right now. Lily's having a rough time with her pregnancy, and he's taking care of Luke and Faith pretty much all alone. I keep messing up and just making things harder. The motorcycle accident really clinched it.

Lucy: But you've done so many things right. I mean, you aced your GED. You got a job --

Aaron: And I lost it.

Lucy: I don't care. You can't leave me!

Aaron: I'm not going to.

Carly: Hi, my name is Carly Tenney. I'd like to speak with somebody about a wedding I'm planning. Yeah, well, it's mine. Okay, well, could you just give a message to whoever's in charge with catering? I can meet on Monday. I can meet on Tues. -- I'm gonna have to call you right back, okay? Thanks. Well, hi!

[Jack laughs] how did you get home before me?

Jack: Didn't anyone tell you? I'm fast. So -- a caterer?

Carly: Yeah, not just a caterer -- a wedding planner.

Jack: Ooh, sounds scary.

Carly: I think her price might be even scarier.

Jack: I'd give her my last dollar if it gets me married to you.

Carly: You know, actually, you don't even have to worry about that. It's my treat.

Jack: Since when did you become Miss Moneybags?

Carly: Since I got a job. My dream come true. It's fame, fortune, all right here in Oakdale. I set up a deal -- with Craig.

Jack: After everything we talked about, you -- you set up a deal with Craig?

Carly: On my terms, Jack. That's what you need to know first and foremost here. Everything's on my terms.

Jack: But when you are doing business with Montgomery, there's only one set of terms, Carly -- his!

Carly: Just listen to me, Jack. Just hear me out.

Jack: What for? You've already gone and shaken hands with the devil.

Carly: No, no, it's not a done deal yet. And it won't be. It won't be a done deal, unless --

Jack: I agree?

Carly: Unless Craig agrees to the conditions of my employment. I won't be head designer for B.R.O. unless he guarantees me that he can keep Rosanna from questioning my every move.

Jack: What, that's it? That's the condition? That Rosanna doesn't hassle you? What about him, Carly? What about setting down a condition that Craig doesn't hang all over you like a $10 suit?

Carly: I don't need to put anything in writing to let Craig know that I'm off limits, Jack. I'm not interested in Craig. Or any other man, for that matter. Why would I be when I have the best man in the whole world? What I'm interested in is salvaging my career, and that is all -- I repeat, that is all this is about. And it's just temporary. Once B.R.O. is featuring my designs, then I will take the first good offer that comes my way. I will lose Craig before you can say, "so long, sucker!" And that's it. So now you know my whole plan.

Jack: I thought your plan was to plan a wedding.

Carly: It is. I am!

Jack: When? Between meetings with Craig? Between sketching designs for his company while he looks over your shoulders just a little too close?

Carly: I'm sorry. Did you or did you not just hear me on the phone just a couple of minutes ago? I told the wedding planner that I was gonna call back, I was gonna make an appointment --

Jack: Well, I wouldn't hurry.

Carly: Why would you say something like that?

Jack: Because if Craig is gonna be in your life, Carly, I'm not sure I can!

Rosanna: I should be going.

Craig: No, no, hey -- when I heard my child was hurt, I was terrified. And if I was --

[Craig sighs] well, I apologize. But I did have provocation.

Rosanna: Oh, yes. Carly can be quite provoking.

Craig: No, this time it was her sister. But we need Carly to help pull B.R.O. out of the graveyard. She's a huge talent. We can't afford to buy an established name right now. It's the best we can do for our money.

Rosanna: Look, you can apologize to me or you can make a pitch for Carly, but you can't do both.

Waiter: Champagne you ordered, Mr. Montgomery.

Craig: Ah, thank you very much. First three rules of chasing gorgeous women are champagne, champagne, champagne.

Rosanna: It's a bit presumptuous, don't you think? Thank you.

[Rosanna sighs]

Craig: I'm still sorry. Are you still ignoring my apology?

Rosanna: I hate you, but I'm thinking about accepting it.

Craig: Good, because you and I have something I don't want to lose.

Rosanna: Oh, I bet you say that to all the girls.

Craig: No, I don't. Because this is different than --

[Craig sighs] -- than anything I've experienced before.

Rosanna: Different from Carly?

Craig: Who? Rosanna, listen, the only thing I want from Carly is her design portfolio. Her clothes are going to make B.R.O. a winner again.

Rosanna: You know, I can't argue with that.

Craig: So, you agree she's good?

Rosanna: I've never had any problems with her talent.

[Rosanna sighs] it's her attitude I don't like. She has this nasty little habit of coveting what I have. If there's a man in my life, she wants him.

Craig: This man wants you.

Rosanna: You do say the nicest things.

[Rosanna laughs] but all the smooth talk in the world's not gonna make me trust you and Carly together.

Emily: I asked Rosanna to withdraw her offer to send Alison to boarding school.

Susan: You what?! This is your fault! You begged your sister to get involved in this!

Alison: No!

Emily: Don't blame Alison. It's my fault. Blame me.

Susan: I blame both of you. She didn't want to go, so once again, she ran to you and once again, you undermine me!

Emily: No, I just -- I didn't want her going away! I didn't do it to hurt you. I wasn't even thinking of you.

Susan: Oh, Emily! Emily! That scholarship was worth so much. And I'm not just talking about the $18,000. I'm talking about the guarantee that your sister would get in somewhere. She'd get accepted. Rosanna and her -- her connections -- she was giving Ali a future beyond chasing boys and hanging out at the mall, and you threw it away!

Emily: She doesn't want to go to the school, mom.

Susan: Have you looked at her lately? Most of what she wants isn't good for her! But I'm on her side!

Emily: So am I!

Susan: Well, then pick up that phone and call Rosanna Cabot.

Emily: And what am I supposed to say?

Susan: That you made a mistake. That we want that scholarship, after all.

Lucy: How are you going to get out of going? Holden and your parents will make you, won't they?

Aaron: They can't force me to, Lucy. If Holden doesn't want me in his house or at grandma's, fine. I'll just move out. I'll get a place of my own.

Lucy: How? You don't have any money.

Aaron: I'll work. I'll save. I don't know, whatever. It doesn't matter. Sooner or later, I'll have enough to rent my own place. C'mon, you shouldn't be standing up.

Lucy: No, I'm fine.

Aaron: No, I'm not taking "no" for an answer. Come on.

Lucy: Well, what are you gonna do until you can find your own place?

Aaron: I don't know. I'm thinking -- camp in the woods? Or there's the park.

Lucy: You can't sleep on a bench.

Aaron: It's better than Seattle. And supposedly, Caleb and my mom are doing a lot better, but I'm telling you, if I went back with them, they would be fighting in a week. That's how it always is. I'm the problem -- the problem with everybody but you. I'm staying. I don't want to be without you.

Lucy: You can't sleep outside. It's not safe. And it's going to get cold soon.

Aaron: It's not gonna be for long, Lucy. Something will happen.

Lucy: No. You have to let me lend you some money. At least you can use it to find a place to live.

Aaron: No, no, no, no way. I'm not gonna have you support me.

Lucy: Then make it a loan. At least until you get a job and everything.

Aaron: Lucy, your dad already thinks I'm a loser. I'm not gonna prove him right.

Lucy: He'll never know. No one will. It'll just be between you and me.

Katie: You can't work with Henry! That's the worst idea I've ever heard!

Henry: Why don't you just talk about me like I'm not even here?!

Katie: It can get dangerous. You know that. So you need someone brave. Henry's a chicken.

Henry: Wait, whoa, whoa -- dangerous? What kinda job is this, Simon?

Simon: Just the casual bugging of a lawyer's hotel room. What do you think?

Henry: Dirty tricks? All right. You came to the right guy. I'm gonna need some special equipment --

Simon: All right, get a list together.

Henry: I know exactly what to get, but it's not gonna be cheap.

Simon: How much?

Katie: Don't give him any money. You'll never see him again.

Henry: $300 just to cover the basics.

Simon: $300? Well, do you take cash?

Henry: Absolutely, it's my favorite kind.

Simon: One, two, three --

Katie: Simon, my pills. I think I need to take some medication. It's in the kitchen. Will you get it for me?

Simon: Of course I will, my love. You stay right here.

Henry: Ow, ow, whoa! Careful of the chest hair. It's paste-on.

Katie: Oh, please, Henry. Take the $300 and get out of here.

Henry: Why?

Katie: Because everything you touch is doomed. Yes, you did a little help in Avanya -- and we really appreciate that -- but it was probably just a fluke. And I don't want it rubbing off on my husband. Please just go.

Henry: Or what, half-liver? You're gonna throw a hissy fit, huh?

Katie: No, I think I might sic Lucinda on you.

Emily: Look, I know that you think this scholarship is the best thing for Alison, but I don't. And I can't ask Rosanna to give it back.

Susan: I saw a lifeline for your sister, and I grabbed it! But you resent that. Whenever I make a decision about Ali's life, you just blow it out of the water.

Emily: What are you talking about? If you had found Wentworth academy all on your own and you decided to send Alison there, I wouldn't have liked it, but I would never have interfered.

Susan: Not true!

Emily: Yes, it is true! What, you think I'm doing all this because of some private little war I want to carry on with you? I have reasons, mother, really good reasons. You have no idea what Rosanna is up --

Susan: What?

Emily: Forget it. Okay, just -- there's just more to this than you know, all right?

Susan: What is she talking about?

Emily: Don't get her in -- don't put her on the spot, all right? Alison's done a really good thing. She's kept someone's promise, and I know that hasn't been easy.

Susan: Alison, I think your sister and I need a little moment alone.

Alison: No! Excuse me, but whose future is being decided here? I have a right to hear the whole argument.

Susan: There isn't gonna be an argument. Okay? Because I'm going to settle this right now. You and I are gonna drive to Wisconsin tomorrow, where you will be enrolled at the Wentworth Academy. You may not have a scholarship, but I'm banking on the fact that you still have Rosanna's recommendation. I will write a check for $18,000 -- first year tuition, paid in advance. And that, as they say, is final.

Aaron: Lucy, I can't. I can't take your money.

Lucy: But then you'll have to go back to Seattle, and I'll never get to see you.

Aaron: I'm not going anywhere, and I mean it. No matter what I have to do. Come on, don't be sad. We're gonna stay together.

Craig: You're two different people, on two different paths, towards two different dreams. Listen, take it from somebody who's been there and knows -- to keep somebody from their dreams is -- it's cruel, even if it's unintentional.

Lucy: Aaron, I know what I said before, but I was wrong. You can't stay in Oakdale. Not for me.

Aaron: Of course I can.

Lucy: No, this is your life we're talking about. And you just want to throw everything away to sleep on a bench? That's crazy!

Aaron: Lucy, I love you.

Lucy: But I can't be the reason you do everything. You have to think about yourself, too, and what you need.

Aaron: I don't believe this. You want me to go?

Lucy: No! I want you safe! Not sleeping on the streets.

Aaron: I think you're trying to say you want to break up. Is that what you're trying to say, Lucy?

Carly: You don't want to marry me?

Jack: Damn it, Carly, of course I want to marry you! If it's the two of us. Not the three of us.

Carly: Craig is business, Jack. You're my life. I can't believe this. I can't believe you're gonna have me choose between having a career and marriage.

Jack: Anybody else, Carly, you go into business with anybody else, and I will personally drive you to work every single day. But you cannot ask me to be happy about sending you off to work with Craig Montgomery! Craig will do anything -- cheat, lie, anything -- to get you!

Carly: Let him try!

Jack: Why aren't alarm bells going off for you, Carly?

Carly: Because I love you. Truly and deeply. I know what I want, Jack, and it's not hanky-panky with Craig.

Jack: You thought you knew that before, and he's made you forget. Not just at Barbara's wedding, but just so recently --

Carly: Oh, I see. So it isn't Craig that you're worried about at all. It's me! You think that I'm too weak to resist. You think that I can't be trusted.

Jack: Carly, that is not what I said.

Carly: That's what you meant. So, what, marrying you means that I have to sit in this house under lock and key? I'm sorry, Jack, but if having a career means that I have to lose you, that would really break my heart. But to give up the only chance I have to design -- Jack, a chance that you said you always wanted for me to have --

Jack: This job will destroy us.

Carly: No, it won't. That's what I'm trying to tell you, Jack. It won't. But you might. Because you don't trust me. We're not gonna get hurt, Jack. I promise.

Jack: I don't like it, Carly.

Carly: You don't even have to lose any sleep yet, okay? Because it's not even a deal unless Craig can get Rosanna to agree.

Jack: You said Rosanna wasn't going to be in the picture.

Carly: Well, not completely. But he's promised to keep her out of my face.

Jack: This is Craig's pattern. To set two sides against each other and then reap the rewards. Just like he did with Hal and Barbara.

Carly: Jack? Jack? Jack, where are you going?

Jack: I need some air.

Carly: Jack, everything is gonna be all right. I promise.

Craig: Rosanna, part of caring for somebody is trusting them. I care for you, but obviously --

Rosanna: Oh, please. I care about you, too!

Craig: I don't blame you. I really don't. I just wish I hadn't made so many infamous mistakes before I met you. But why do you keep giving me B.R.O., then taking it away?

Rosanna: Look, I won't dwell on your mistakes if you don't dwell on mine. And I have a little show of good faith, all right? Right here.

Craig: Hmm. "All company matters relating to B.R.O. will now be under the supervision and control of Craig Montgomery"? Foreign sales. Domestic.

Rosanna: Yeah, lot of blah-blah.

Craig: You didn't sign it.

Rosanna: Well, this is just a copy -- for your review. Okay? Mm. That's very nice. Oh. Well, what's this for?

Craig: This -- is my contract with you. The only one that counts.

A bientot.

Craig: Carly, it's me. Can you meet me at the Lakeview?

Carly: Why should I?

Craig: Because I have the answer to our prayers.

Carly: Just tell me when.

Lucy: I don't want to break up. Aaron, I love you. But I don't want to watch you try to get by without money, help from your family or a place to live.

Aaron: None of that matters if I have you, Lucy.

Lucy: I can't be so important. And you can't sleep in a park because you think you'll lose me. I don't care how far away you are, I'll still be waiting.

Aaron: So, we go for months at a time without seeing each other to make my parents happy?

Lucy: No. To make you happy. Go back to Seattle, get a job, save some money. And then when you have enough, rent a place here and come back.

Aaron: How do I get along without seeing you?

Lucy: I don't know. But we're gonna stay together, because we're real. And distance is not gonna tear us apart, nothing will.

Aaron: And you'll wait for me?

Lucy: As long as it takes.

Aaron: Lucy, I'll do whatever you want. But I'm not gonna say good-bye.

Lucy: I won't say it either.

Aaron: I'll call you before I leave.

Lucy: And every day after that. God, I'm gonna miss you so much.

Aaron: I don't have to go.

Lucy: Yeah, you do -- for now. Think about what you want and where you're going and then come back to me.

Aaron: I love you.

Lucy: I didn't say it, Aaron. I didn't say good-bye.

Alison: You'd pay $18,000 to keep from having to look at my face?! Give me half, and I'll disappear on my own!

Susan: You think this is easy? I'm trying to help you.

Alison: Then don't get rid of me!

Susan: What else can I do? All I get from you are lies and anger. It's gotta stop. It has to end right here for your sake, as well as mine.

Alison: I swear, I'm gonna make them hate me at the worthless academy for rejects.

Susan: If that's what you want to do, go for it. But Wentworth is your last chance. And if you blow it there, you're gonna force me to do what I said I would do.

Alison: Family court? Why are you just standing there?!

Susan: Because she's already done her bit. She got rid of your scholarship. Now it's just you and me, kid. So get some sleep tonight. I'll be getting you up early.

Alison: I really have to go.

Emily: Ali, just --

Alison: No, I'm going to be sick.

Emily: All right. Just -- just sit down, okay? And a deep breath, all right? Take a deep breath, honey.

Alison: How come you never give up on me?

Emily: Oh, sweetie -- mom's not giving up on you, she's just scared, that's all. Look, if you do a good job this semester, she'll calm down. And I bet you she'll let you come back here and go to school. I mean, it took, what, all of three seconds for me to convince her to let you come home on the weekend.

Alison: Weekends?

Emily: Yeah. You get good grades, you get to see your friends every five days.

Alison: Wisconsin? Why not hell? I bet there's schools in hell.

Emily: Do you see that? The way you talk? You're smart. And you're funny. And Wentworth Academy -- Wentworth Academy is gonna be a real drag at first, but you're gonna have 'em laughing in no time, I promise.

Alison: No, I won't. I'm not gonna cut it, em. Everywhere I go, I fail.

Jack: Where's Montgomery?

Rosanna: Well, hello. And I don't know. Why?

Jack: You got a minute?

Rosanna: Well, since you usually confine your communication with me to meaningful glares, sure. Police business?

Jack: Personal.

Rosanna: Carly?

Jack: Craig. Did you really give him control of B.R.O.?

Rosanna: Well, I'm considering it.

Jack: Were you aware that he asked Carly to be head designer of the company?

Rosanna: Yes, but I've nixed the idea.

Jack: You think he cares? Carly didn't need Craig. She had a deal to design for Lisa over at Fashions. He demolished that.

Rosanna: Yes, I know. I was there when Carly told Lisa that Craig had lied about her working for him. But I hate to break it to you, Jack, Lisa didn't care. She just wanted out. Too bad for Carly.

Jack: No, too bad for me. Because now Carly has to find a new job. Which is why Craig and Carly have a new deal -- one you obviously haven't even heard about yet.

Rosanna: A new deal? What new deal?

Jack: No, Rosanna. I'm asking the questions right now. So, are you gonna tell me where Montgomery is or not?

Henry: You're just gonna give me $300, Katie? I don't -- I don't know what to say. Gee, I could get all the way to Milltown with that kind of cash.

Katie: Knock it off, Henry. Simon's gonna be back any second, and I want you gone. Take the money and go. It's so easy.

Henry: No! I'm not gonna do it, Katie. He saved me from Lucinda -- and he's my friend.

Katie: Your what?

Henry: He's the first friend I've ever had, okay? All right?

Katie: So this is real? You're helping Simon just to help him, not for personal gain?

Henry: Nah. And even if -- even if I didn't, I don't want to do anything that would put Simon and Lucinda on my tail. All right?

Simon: Babe -- I couldn't find your meds.

Katie: I had them all along. Oops.

Simon: Oh, really?

Katie: And I don't take one for another hour. I'm sorry.

Simon: Not a problem. That's fine. So you'll meet me at the Lakeview tomorrow?

Henry: Yeah. Yeah. And if you get there first, I'll take one martini, very dry.

Simon: Just be there with the equipment. No cocktails.

Henry: What about an olive to suck on? I'm just kidding. Come on. I'll see you, Mrs. F. Seriously, I gotta thank you, because you really saved me from Lucinda's sort of happy house of indentured servitude. You know, you are Androcles, and I am the lion.

Simon: What the -- lion? What is --

Katie: I think that's Henry's way of saying he's your friend for life. Oh, Simon, that's scary -- really, really scary.

Rosanna: Where did you get this ridiculous idea that Carly and Craig are making a new deal?

Jack: Carly told me all about it less than an hour ago. That's funny, Craig didn't mention it to you?

Rosanna: Carly's probably running after him, trying to get herself a new job. It makes me a little sick, but it doesn't scare me. Craig won't offer her a contract.

Jack: Oh, sure, he will. And she'll sign, because she thinks B.R.O. is her only chance to design.

Rosanna: I know why I don't want Carly at B.R.O. Why don't you, Jack?

Jack: I'd love for her to work at B.R.O., just not with Craig. If he's running the show, I don't want her anywhere around.

Rosanna: He cares about me, you know?

Jack: He may care about you, but he's obsessed with her. And this time, I'm not gonna sit around and watch while he goes after my fiancee. So if you want to protect your boyfriend -- tell him you changed your mind, that he can't have B.R.O. after all.

Carly: Do you have any idea what I'm risking by meeting you here?

Craig: The wrath of Jack?

Carly: See, I knew it! I knew I shouldn't have come.

Craig: Oh, come on, Carly. Carly, come on, I'm just teasing you. Sit down. Can I buy you a drink?

Carly: No, you can't. You can start this stupid meeting, so I can get home before Jack --

Craig: Finds out you're here? He doesn't know? I thought everything was all open and honest between you two.

Carly: He left right before you called, so I couldn't tell him where I was going. But I have told him everything else.

Craig: Was he happy about our deal?

Carly: He wanted to call off the wedding.

Craig: No. No, he didn't mean that.

Carly: Yeah, Craig, he meant it!

Craig: No, no, he doesn't trust me. But you?

Carly: The only reason he's acting like this is because he can see right through you. You've screwed up my life again!

Craig: Well, now, I'm gonna fix it. Okay? Make everybody happy. I have a plan.

Carly: I don't need a plan, Craig. I need two. I need one to keep Rosanna out of my face and another to keep Jack --

Craig: Jack walking up the matrimonial aisle. This plan is gonna make everybody happy. Trust me.

Katie: You're trusting a major part of a major operation to Henry Coleman.

Simon: Look, he'll be fine, okay? He'll come through. What, are you doubting my judgment?

Katie: He's just so weasely.

Simon: Is that what you told him when you sent me on that fictitious search for the pills?

Katie: The what?

Simon: Oh, please. I figured you had something to say to him, and that's why I left you here so you could say it. So, did you?

Katie: Yes. Well, I -- I gave him a loyalty test.

Simon: Right.

Katie: And the weird thing is --

Simon: Hmm?

Katie: -- He passed. I told him to take that money and run, but he didn't want to cheat you.

Simon: Hmm.

Katie: Weird.

Simon: Well, don't worry, old Henry will resurface sooner or later. And speaking of our old selves, thank you for talking me out of selling insurance.

Katie: Well, like I said, life's too short not to be you -- within reason.

Simon: Ah, always a catch.

Emily: You are not gonna fail at Wentworth, I promise. You just have to prove to mom that you know how to follow rules, that's all.

Alison: She's really sending me away? I didn't even get a chance to say good-bye to Aaron.

Emily: You know, he's got a pretty big influence on your life for a guy who's not even your boyfriend.

Alison: Maybe his phone's on.

Emily: You know what, Ali? Maybe you should just go to sleep.

Alison: Okay.

Emily: I'll call you in the morning, okay, before you have to leave. Come here, sweetie. Everything's gonna be okay.

[Door closes]

[phone rings]

Alison: Come on, Aaron. Please pick up. Please.

[Phone rings]

Aaron: Don't hang up, don't hang up, don't hang up. Don't hang up, Lucy! Alison? Damn it!

Alison: I don't want to leave a message. Hi! Aaron, it's me, Alison. Um, I just wanted to thank you for telling Emily why I took Rosanna's phone. She was really impressed, but it didn't work. My mother, the Nazi, is hauling me out of bed at dawn and driving me to boot camp for girls. So -- I'm gonna miss you, a lot. So -- I'll talk to you later? Bye. You think I'm tough now, mom? Just wait until we go to Wentworth Academy.

Aaron: Lucy -- how am I gonna get through a day without you?

Lucy: Aaron, what was I thinking? I can't let you go. I can't. And I won't.

Jack: Call him, Rosanna. Call Craig and tell him he can't have B.R.O.

Rosanna: All he wants from Carly are her designs. Trust me, he's very satisfied in every other area.

Jack: So you don't have a problem with them working together? How long do you think it's gonna be before he's got his hands all over her?

Rosanna: Jack, I'm not stupid. Just because I care about Craig doesn't mean I don't know who he is. So I've had to give him a little whack on the nose a few times. He's learned his lesson. He's not going to go after Carly, because I won't allow it.

Jack: So we understand each other?

Rosanna: If I say Carly won't work at B.R.O., trust me, Carly won't work at B.R.O.

Craig: Here's what I can promise you -- you will be head designer at B.R.O., Rosanna will not check up on you, and Jack will make an honest woman out of you.

[Craig laughs]

Carly: We all know how valuable your promises are, Craig. Give me something real.

Craig: Happily. I wrote it myself. I'm gonna have it inserted into my contract. Genius, huh?

Carly: You mean this, don't you?

Craig: That I want you as my partner? Absolutely. So what's it gonna be, yes or no?

Carly: Yes.

Craig: Excellent. I think this calls for a little champagne.
