Molly: Are you gonna carry me over every threshold in Hawaii?
Jake: I hope your feet never touch the ground, Mrs. McKinnon.
Molly: Can I at least unpack first and put on something a little more tasty and --
Jake: Come on, this joint is a five-star hotel. They take care of it for you. I think all you need to worry about is being tasty.
Molly: Subtle. That's really subtle.
Jake: You didn't marry me for my subtlety.
[Phone ringing] work is following us here, Jake. I didn't wanna see a fax for two weeks, but there's a pile of them on the desk.
Jake: Oh, that would be tomorrow's edition of the City Times, including the society section.
[Molly gasps] wait, wait, wait. We're consummating here!
Molly: Then you should've kept your big mouth shut.
Jake: What, and deny you the pleasure of seeing your beautiful face splashed all over the social page? How could I?
Molly: Did this hit the stands yet?
Jake: No, I wanted you to get the first look. Just another benefit of being married to the editor of a newspaper.
Molly: Oh, Jake. You should see -- you are so handsome, so hot.
Jake: So befuddled.
Molly: Mr. --
Molly: This is a look of sheer joy here, Mr. Smart guy. Mm. "Mr. And Mrs. Jake McKinnon." Oh, that sounds so good. So what's the deal? You couldn't get us on the front page?
Jake: No weddings above the fold, even if it is my own.
Molly: Oh, my God!
Jake: Oh, my what?
Molly: "Editor's wedding ends in gruesome death."
Jake: That's very funny, like being married to you. What? Somebody died at our wedding?
[Knock at door]
Craig: Oh, Margo!
Margo: I know you're probably expecting someone else, but I figured you'd still be up, right? What, are you hurt?
Craig: Eh, a twinge of something.
Margo: Well, the hospital said you didn't even check in. You know what? You might have cracked a rib after that tumble you took with Carly. Pardon the expression.
Craig: Carly might not be here if I hadn't taken that "tumble" -- pardon the expression.
Margo: Well, why didn't you go to the hospital?
Craig: I was well tended to elsewhere.
Margo: Oh, yeah? Nurse Carly Nightingale? I saw you leave together. So did Jack.
Craig: Put a bee in his bonnet, did it?
Margo: Was that your intention?
Craig: I don't need to make Jack jealous.
Margo: But he has reason to be?
Craig: What I say, Margo? She's always been attracted to me. And now that I've saved her life -- well, you understand.
Jack: Milk, two sugars, right?
Jack: What's that look?
Carly: There was a time I thought I might be here with you one day, while we were building our house. Now here we are, and Julia's gone. But instead of sitting on that couch talking about how we're gonna make our plans come true and our dreams come true -- why did you ask me to stay, Jack?
Jack: I've spent a lot of sleepless nights wishing you were here with me. And now that you are, I don't know if we should sit down to a polite cup of coffee or -- maybe I should follow my instincts.
Carly: And what do your instincts tell you to do?
Jack: Take you upstairs. Take your clothes off. Feel you next to me again.
Molly: Jake, Jake, remember those panic attacks I told you about?
Jake: Right, something serious was gonna happen in the ceremony.
Molly: Yeah, well, this is worse than that. This is a nightmare.
Jake: Not exactly. Everybody made it out alive, except for the bad guy.
Molly: But -- I'm grateful for that. I really am. Believe me. But look at this! This went over the wire service. Millions of people read this. What are they gonna think?
Jake: They're gonna think that I married the most absolutely gorgeous woman in the entire universe.
Molly: Jake, our kids were at that wedding. Get on the horn to Donna, okay?
Jake: Listen -- it says that no bystanders were seriously injured.
Molly: Just call Donna and find out if the twins are okay, because I --
Jake: Don't call Abigail like that, okay? You'll just freak her out.
Molly: Jake, our daughter, my baby, is traumatized. And we're 4,000 miles away. I have to call. It's ringing. I got the machine. Abigail, are you there? Pick up the phone. She's not answering, Jake. Pick up the phone, Abigail. This is mom.
Abigail: Did you see the way that Craig tackled Carly?
Adam: Totally unbelievable. I didn't know uncle Craig had it in him.
Abigail: Yeah, Craig saved Carly's life. We got it all on video.
Adam: Yep. Let me take that for you. Yeah, it's probably a bit shaky, 'cause when Jack shot that guy, I jumped, you know? But I kept on going.
Abigail: Yeah, no one came to the wedding expecting someone to get shot.
Adam: Yeah. I gave the tape to my mom, too, so she can probably close out the case.
Abigail: Yeah, it was a good thing Nick left you with the camera, huh?
Adam: Yeah. I guess so. It's a pretty weird night.
Abigail: Yeah, thanks for the late-night breakfast, by the way.
Adam: Oh, it was no problem. This place is really quiet when there's no one around.
Abigail: Yeah. Molly -- Donna has the twins. She asked me to go to Bay City with her, but I said no.
Adam: Glad you turned her down.
Abigail: Yeah, how could I pass up the chance to have an apartment all by myself?
Adam: All the freedom in the world to do whatever it is that we feel like doing.
Simon: So is Katie back yet?
Craig: Simon, no luck?
Simon: No. No, I think she packed everything and left. Even Snickers.
Simon: Yeah, Snickers, her pet rabbit.
Craig: Ah, hares freight!
Margo: Well, did she leave alone or with this Bruno guy?
Simon: I really don't know, but I'm pretty sure it was alone.
Margo: All right. Well, why don't you let me track him down? And I'll ask some questions.
Craig: Margo, what's all the fuss about? I've met the guy. He seems harmless enough. Huh? Simon, Bruno may have picked up a few twitches along the way, but I don't think he's a threat.
Margo: Okay, thanks. That was my contact on the East coast. Seems this Portolano has been known to have mob ties in New Jersey.
Simon: So tell me again, Craig, how harmless this guy is?
Margo: You know what, Simon? This guy could be dangerous. I don't want to have to worry about Katie and you. So why don't you let me put somebody on it, and I'll let you know how it shakes out, okay?
Craig: It never ends, does it, Margo?
Margo: What, dealing with our family?
Craig: I meant your job.
Margo: It's the same difference.
Craig: Ah, Simon! Katie gets in trouble on an hourly basis. She'll be all right.
Simon: She'd be still stuck on that island, Craig, if I'd listened to you.
Craig: Trust me on this -- I know women.
Simon: Oh, spare me, please. Beating a murder rap brought by your own wife is not really my idea of success with women.
Craig: All I'm saying is listen to me now. I won't steer you wrong.
Simon: So you're saying you know something that I don't? Because if you do, Craig, you'd better come clean. 'Cause I'm kind of in the mood to beat it out of you.
Craig: Simon, this thing with Bruno isn't real. It's just a plan to make you jealous. And, Simon, it seems to have worked.
Carly: Why don't we just start with coffee and see where we go from there?
Jack: Fine by me.
Carly: You're in a dangerous mood tonight.
Jack: I'm not sure how I feel at the moment.
Carly: You should feel like a hero, Jack. Who knows what that maniac would have done to Luke if you hadn't been there to stop him.
Jack: Mm, no, I didn't just "stop" him, Carly. I killed him.
Carly: You were doing your job.
Jack: Listen --
Carly: I saw something in you tonight, Jack. Something dark. That driven g-man thing kicked in, like when you're on a case and nothing distracts you. You've looked that way about me once or twice. It reminded me of why I'll always love you.
Jack: That life, that person I was, the "g-man" you wanted me to be -- I wouldn't mind if you never called me that again, Carly. That guy doesn't exist anymore. I'm not sure he ever really did.
Carly: I know things are different now --
Jack: I submitted my resignation.
Carly: Why? You love being a cop.
Jack: Well, maybe I don't want that to be my entire existence anymore.
Carly: Jack -- it's in your blood.
Jack: You were there tonight, Carly. I shot a man.
Carly: You saved a child.
Jack: No, I wasn't thinking about Luke, though. All I wanted to do was wipe that piece of garbage off the face of the earth. And then all of a sudden, you were there. One step, one breath. If I had pulled that trigger one second earlier, I could have killed you.
Carly: No, Jack -- you don't know what would have happened. You saved Luke. You saved me.
Jack: No, I didn't. Craig Montgomery saved you.
Abigail: How much longer till sunrise?
Adam: A couple of hours, maybe. You having a good time? You're not falling asleep on me, are you? What?
Abigail: This is so stupid.
Adam: I thought you said you were having a good time.
Abigail: Yeah. Come on, Adam. We both know what we're thinking.
Adam: What we could be doing? What other people did without thinking twice?
Abigail: Yeah, Jennifer and Billy. I still can't believe it.
Adam: I mean, here are two people, barely even know each other. They're not even going out. And then, just bam, it happens.
Abigail: I mean, is that how it is? The Jennifer that we knew is now this woman.
Adam: And here we are, all alone.
Abigail: Able to do whatever we want.
Abigail: You know, this is so -- we're usually able to tell each other everything.
Adam: I know, I know. I can talk to you about anything. It's like sometimes you're in my head.
Abigail: Same here.
Adam: We can tell each other whatever we have to tell each other. We usually do.
Abigail: Not tonight.
Adam: Yeah, that's 'cause there's this big, old elephant in the middle of the living room with a huge "s" painted on the side of him.
Abigail: And "s"?
Adam: For sex.
Abigail: Ah! Adam!
Adam: Or maybe it's a big "v" for the two last remaining virgins in the galaxy.
Abigail: Do you have to just blurt it out like that?
Adam: Sorry. I thought I was being smooth or humorous. Whatever.
Abigail: It's me, it's me. I mean, all we're doing is talking about it, and my palms are getting sweaty.
Adam: I wonder if first times are always this spastic?
Abigail: At least we're still on the same learning curve.
Adam: Sometimes I wish that weren't true.
Adam: I know Chris was your first love.
Abigail: He was my first mistake.
Adam: Chris is just, you know, one of those dudes, you know? The kind of guy who always knows what to say. Like, if he were here, he'd probably tell you how gorgeous you look tonight and walking down the aisle in that killer dress, how beautiful your voice was when you sang. But me, all I can think about is right now, how the moon and the candles light your face at this very moment. If I didn't know you were real, this would just be the ultimate fantasy.
Abigail: Oh, Adam --
Adam: I'm not smooth, obi.
Abigail: To me you are. Sometimes, the things that you say, it's like one of your poems just being made up on the spot. They make me feel so special.
Adam: Good. I'm going to kiss you now.
Craig: Katie and I made a deal to stop chasing amour, concentrate on something else in life.
Simon: So what are you saying, that Bruno was Katie's "something else"?
Craig: She wanted to make you jealous, Simon. But you know you had her in your pocket the whole time, didn't you?
Simon: Well, things have definitely changed between us since Malta, or so I thought. But she seems to be getting in over her head with this guy, Bruno.
Craig: She said he's a tad possessive, but then, she is a tad dramatic, huh?
Simon: Look, I think it's a little more serious than that, Craig. When I saw her at the wedding, she practically threw herself at me. And then, Bruno shows up, and she goes ice cold. Look, I'm pretty sure that she's afraid of what he might do.
Craig: You really think she's afraid he might hurt her?
Simon: Maybe. But now, maybe she's more afraid of what he might do to me.
Carly: Craig pushed me out of the line of fire. Big deal. Do you see me swooning, saying "my hero"?
Jack: Yeah? Then why did you leave the wedding with him?
Carly: Because you didn't ask me to stay with you. But what about now, Jack? I'm here in your house, uninvited I might add. And you still don't want me.
Jack: Don't want you? The first and last thought I have every day is of you, Carly. I even went over to your place a couple times over the past few weeks.
Jack: To catch a glimpse of you, maybe, see you pass by the window or maybe hear you tell me to go away, but you were never home.
Carly: And so you just assumed that I was with Craig?
Jack: Sometimes. I mean, that's been our M.O., hasn't it? I expect you to be waiting for me at home, and finally admit that you've been seeing Craig, only after you hem and haw and change the subject because you know I'll blow a gasket.
Carly: And you do.
Jack: Of course I do. I always do. I hear Craig's name, and I go nuts, and then you and I fight. Jump in any time you want, Carly. You know the story of us.
Carly: I know what I've always wanted it to be.
Jack: But it never is, is it? No, we just say our sorries, make love, and then, the whole thing starts all over again.
Carly: I hope we have more than that, Jack.
Jack: No, hoping doesn't make anything true, Carly. We are what we are. We're like a couple of rats running through a maze, and after we get through the twists and the turns that we know by heart, there's a little piece of cheese. And we convince ourselves that we've grown up or learned a lesson, but I'm tired of that. I'm tired. I want to be the rat that gets out of the maze, to --
[Both laughing] oh, that's so stupid.
Carly: Why are we laughing?
Jack: I don't know, because we're tired of crying? I have to laugh every now and then, Carly, or I'm going to wind up as crazy as Julia.
Carly: You know, I do know what's going on with you. You need time. So then, why do you -- why are you talking about how you want to be with me?
Jack: Because all I know, all I've ever wanted, is to be with you. But that's not enough anymore. I remember being that guy, so sure of everything, but I lost control of my life somewhere.
Carly: In the boathouse with Barbara?
Jack: Possibly, or maybe after going through hell with Julia, or maybe after seeing the pictures of you and Craig kissing in the courthouse. I don't know. But quitting my job feels like the first step I've taken towards my balance, and I can't shake this feeling that what I'm about to do from here on out is more important than anything I've ever done.
Jack: Because someone has to watch out for you, Carly, and I can't think of anyone better for that job than me.!"
Jake: Did you know what Abigail was planning to do? Listen; maybe they just went out to get a bite to eat.
Molly: And didn't take her cell phone with her?
Jake: I don't know. She wants me to remind you that Abigail is 18 years old. Look, that's not working. That's not working. She wants you to know that the Police wrapped everything up, and they got the bad guy. Thank you, Donna. Thank you. Thank you for everything, all right? Looks like we're honeymooning in Oakdale.
[Knock at door]
Molly: What in the world?
Bellman: Mr. McKinnon, this is for you.
Jake: Thank you. Here you go. I'll talk to you later, all right?
Bellman: Let me get this. Enjoy.
Molly: Is there a card?
Jake: It looks like somebody likes us.
Molly: Read the card.
Jake: Mm-hmm. "I know you've probably heard by now. All is well. Stay in Hawaii. It's Molly's first and last honeymoon. Enjoy it. Love, your boss."
Jake: She wouldn't steer us wrong. Come on. What do you say?
Adam: You okay?
Abigail: Yeah, I'm great.
Adam: Abigail --
Abigail: Whoa. Wait, just wait.
Adam: I can do that. Just to clarify though, for how long? A few minutes, just for tonight, never? What?
Abigail: I don't mean to be so difficult.
Adam: It's okay. I know.
Abigail: It's just, you know, I want to be sure that -- there's like 20 messages on this thing. The phone's been ringing off the hook, and we haven't heard it.
Adam: You don't hear me complaining.
Abigail: Molly, hi.
Molly: Where have you been?
Abigail: Um, are all those messages from you?
Molly: Honey, yes. I was worried sick.
Abigail: You know, I had turned down the ringer when the twins were napping, and I forgot to turn it back on when I came home from the wedding. Everything's fine.
Molly: Yeah, everything except for a little shoot-out at our wedding reception. Honey, are you all right?
Everything's fine here. Donna has the twins. But give me the scoop about you. Is it beautiful there?
Molly: Yeah. Well, I mean, I haven't seen much, because we got to the room, and Jake had The City Times faxed --
Abigail: You know, when you rode away on your bike, on Jake's bike -- by the way, with your dress, it was the coolest thing I've ever seen -- you looked really stunning.
Molly: Thank you, honey.
Abigail: You know, it's really late here, and I'm sure you're so tired.
Molly: Oh, okay. I just wanted to call to make sure that you were okay.
Abigail: Yeah. Please don't worry about me. Just have fun on your honeymoon. I love you.
Molly: Honey, I love you, too, and --
[Phone disconnects] well, that was weird.
Jake: What, is she okay?
Molly: Yeah, she sounds okay. But Jake, I don't know.
Adam: Didn't want to let them know that I was here?
Abigail: Well, technically, I didn't really lie about it. It just never came up.
Adam: It's funny how things like that work out, right? So I think we were in the middle of something, and I also think that I am thinking what you're thinking, and what I'm thinking is timing. Timing is everything. And maybe that phone rang just at the right moment.
Abigail: So you won't be mad if we don't -- ?
Adam: No. No way.
Abigail: Okay. Oh, thank you, Adam! Thank you. You know, in a way, it's sort of a relief, isn't it?
Adam: Relieved is not the word I'm looking for, but don't worry. I'll survive.
Carly: Don't I get a say in this, Jack? That I don't need protection?
Jack: I think you do.
Carly: What if I don't want protection?
Jack: Well, that's just too damn bad. I'm going to watch your back. I can't explain it other than to say that I've got this feeling.
Carly: A feeling? You have a feeling? Think maybe you've been watching too many movies, Jack?
Jack: I reached a point in my career, Carly, when I finally just knew things. I don't know, sometimes, there's this vibe that runs through the world. It's like a current, and all I have to do is tap into it. I can tell immediately when I was being lied to, and I could even tell when someone had the drop on me or when a bust was about to go sour, and I trusted that feeling. It was like trusting my heart was going to keep beating. Only now that feeling has turned into an alarm bell ringing 24-7 in my head, and I can't make it stop. Something's not right.
Carly: Not right in what way?
Jack: Not right in the world, me? I don't know. I saw something tonight, Carly. God, I can't shake this feeling. It's spooking me.
Carly: What did you see?
Jack: It doesn't matter.
Carly: No, it matters, Jack. It scared you.
Jack: When I quit the force, I just thought it was my time to leave. You know, I got burned out. But after hunting that guy down and catching him, I didn't skip a beat. I knew that my instincts were still there. And after that --
Jack: I'm sensing something new, and I've got to trust it, especially because it has to do with you.
Carly: In what way?
Jack: I have this bad feeling that you could get caught up in something. I wish I could be more specific than that.
Carly: But it does have to do with Craig, doesn't it?
Jack: No, it doesn't have to do with Craig per se.
Carly: Oh, please, Jack. The guy gets under your skin on a good day. You throw me into the mix, and you're like a walking seizure, you're so angry.
Jack: No, I'm through getting angry with Craig Montgomery. Let him rule the world. Let him die. I don't care.
Carly: Since when?
Jack: I am so tired of him. I'm tired of us doing this stupid dance. I will never trust Craig Montgomery. There, I said it! But I can't stop you from telling yourself that you can somehow keep him in line.
Carly: I can.
[Jack laughs] And however you're thinking that, you're wrong.
Carly: And what if you are right? This sixth sense of yours, what if it's right? What can you do about it now that you're not a cop?
Jack: Everything I have to. Only this time, I don't haven a badge to slow me down.
Abigail: You're so sweet.
Adam: Can I ask you a question, Abigail? How would you feel about being a little more official? If I'm giving you a call, I don't really have to ask you, "Hey, what are you doing today," 'cause it's just sort of assumed that we are going to hang out.
Abigail: You mean be exclusive?
Adam: You know what I'd really like? I'd like to be talking to one of my buddies in class and just casually throw out two little words into the conversation.
Abigail: What words?
Adam: "My girlfriend." As in, "I gotta go. I'm meeting up with my girlfriend. We're watching a movie later on." Or like, "My girlfriend is a gazillion times prettier than that stupid homecoming queen, you know, man?" Am I asking too much?
Abigail: What you're asking for, it's a lot more than we are now.
Adam: I'm not asking you to marry me. I just want to hold your hand when we're walking down the street, you know? I want to have plans on Saturday nights. I want to be your boyfriend.
Abigail: I'd like that.
Adam: So then that's a yes?
[Abigail laughs] I think that phone has something against me.
[Doorbell rings] oh, interruptions in stereo. Wow.
Abigail: Can you imagine if we were doing something else?
Adam: No. Total nightmare. I'll go get the door.
Abigail: Okay. Molly? Oh, Donna.
Adam: Hey, Nick.
Nick: Look, I know it's late.
Adam: Yeah, it is. What are you doing here?
Nick: Well, I just wanted to see if Abigail was okay. I heard what happened tonight.
Adam: Yeah, Abigail's fine. I'll let her know you dropped by, all right?
Abigail: Hi! Nick, wait. Come in. I'll be off the phone in a minute.
Nick: Look, I'm just gonna be here for a minute, okay?
Adam: I know.
Nick: I was going to call you in the morning to see if you got any footage of what went down at the wedding.
Abigail: Oh, he got the whole thing on tape.
Nick: Well, I want to see it.
Adam: I gave the tape to my mom. She's the head detective in charge of the case.
Nick: You just handed it over to the cops? That was a mistake.
Nick: Well, I'm not saying that he should have kept it from them, but in these situations, you always make a copy of the tape first. You give one to the cops, and you keep one to sell to the news agencies.
Adam: A guy got shot tonight. The cops need every bit of information they can to find out exactly what happened. What was I supposed to do, tell them to wait until I make my own copy?
Nick: Well, it doesn't matter, though. I mean, it's still going to be an exclusive story no matter what your mom does with the tape. So why don't we head down to the station and pick it up, all right?
Adam: Whoa! What's the rush?
Abigail: Well, it's news, Adam. People are going to want to see that.
Adam: A man being shot and killed?
Abigail: Nick will it still be exclusive if we wait a day?
Nick: It's not going to be a top news story, no.
Adam: Oh, well, that's just something I'll have to live with, all right? I wasn't there to get famous.
Nick: I'm sorry for dropping by so late. Looks like Adam's got it all under control, so I just wanted to make sure that you were okay.
Abigail: I am. Thanks.
Nick: All right. I'll see you later.
Abigail: Okay. What is with you?
Adam: What did I do?
Abigail: You just gave new meaning to the word rude, that's all.
Carly: I can't quite wrap my mind around the idea of you not playing by the rules.
Carly: Do you even know how to live like that?
Jack: I'll figure it out.
Carly: I have been a very bad influence on you.
Jack: Oh, yeah. Yeah. If by bad you mean the greatest friend I've ever had, the greatest love I've ever known and the greatest woman I've ever met, then yeah, you've been very bad for me.
Carly: I'm surprised you still feel that way about me.
Jack: The way I feel about you hasn't changed, Carly. But our relationship is so tangled up; I just hope that someday we can get it unraveled again.
Carly: So what, you just toss me out of your life in the meantime? Do we say hi to each other on the street? How exactly does that work?
Jack: Well, I could never lock you out of my life, Carly. It's never worked before.
Carly: Do you think that you can handle us being around each other and not acting on the way we feel?
Jack: Well, it'll probably kill me, but --
Carly: I can see us a year from now. You have gotten so tired of waiting for me to find myself, and you'll have married somebody who truly appreciates you, and I'll still be trying to figure out if this career that I want so badly is going to take off, if I'm still stuck at B.R.O.
Jack: B.R.O.? What, you're working for them? When did this happen?
Carly: Paul offered me a job, and I was thinking about it. What?
Jack: No, it just hit me that Paul Ryan is James Steinbeck's son.
Carly: Well, yeah, but he's nothing -- he's nothing like his father. What does that have to do with it?
Jack: Maybe nothing.
Adam: I just -- I don't understand why you're taking Nick's side.
Abigail: Well, I'm not taking Nick's side.
Adam: Oh, really? "That tape is important news, Adam. People need to see it." Well, the cops needed the tape a little more.
Abigail: No. No one says that you shouldn't have given the tape to the cops. Nick said it was the right thing to do.
Adam: Imagine my relief. Nick Scudder gives me a pat on the head.
Abigail: Adam, all I'm saying is he agreed with you.
Adam: Only after you backed me up.
Abigail: Oh, so now I'm on your side. Do I get a pat on the head from you?
Adam: Why are we fighting?
Abigail: You know, I can't even remember how long I've been up at this point. I'm completely zoning out.
Adam: I guess I should -- I should go. You just make sure this door is locked when I'm gone, okay?
Abigail: Adam -- thank you for breakfast and for everything.
Adam: Are we still on for Java?
Abigail: I'm already figuring out what I'm going to wear.
Adam: Me, too. Patiently, I go into the night.

[Door slams] all right, honey! Come on! We're gonna catch that flight to the -- mainland. That outfit, or lack thereof, is going to cause quite a stir at the airport.
Molly: Well, you know, I was just thinking that we do have the honeymoon suite at the best hotel on the islands.
Molly: A Jacuzzi, an ocean view --
Molly: A college freshman at home that doesn't need her parents hovering around.
Molly: And a town full of people that would love nothing more than for the newlyweds to enjoy their honeymoon.
Jake: Mm. Whatever you say.
Molly: I want to thank you for the wedding of my dreams, for the most amazing honeymoon, for giving me the chance to mother our babies. Jake: Okay, let's do it.
Molly: Wait a minute! That's a little too short.

Jake: So you're ready to start this honeymoon off right?

Margo: We have no evidence that Bruno has Katie or even if she went with him against her will.
Simon: Come on, Margo. Of course he forced her to go!
Craig: Oh, bucko, Katie's a very resourceful woman. I know this is a very foreign concept, Simon, but trust your wife. Katie will find a way out of this mess. She always does.
Katie: Hi. My name is Katie Peretti Frazier, and I seem to be in a bit of trouble. I was wondering if you are offering sanctuary tonight?
Carly: The idea of me designing for Barbara is weirder than I can say.
Jack: Well, I know it's not the way you wanted to break into the big time, but it could be a terrific opportunity for you.
Carly: I was sort of hoping Paul would offer me my own line.
Jack: You set the terms you want. Paul is desperate. He needs your talent. Make him pay through the nose, and go get famous. I can't think of anyone who deserves this opportunity more than you.
Carly: What about Barbara?
Jack: Let Paul worry about his mother. You just get ready for Paris and Milan.
Carly: No, I think I can settle for a steady paycheck and an occasional trip to Chicago.
Jack: Well, that'd be nice.
Carly: Jack, I love how supportive you are of me. It means a lot to me.
Jack: You've always known that I've always wanted the best of all possible worlds for you, Carly. One bit of advice, however.
Jack: If you do decide to take the job, don't tell Craig about it.
Carly: Oh, please. Can we not start --
Jack: No, I'm just going with the logic of the situation here. Montgomery wanted control of B.R.O. He's got no incentive to see this company work, unless he's running the show. He knows how talented you are. If he finds out you're working for the Ryan's, he'll want to see you fail.
Carly: Jack, Craig is the person who suggested that I design for B.R.O. in the first place.
Jack: Yes. That was then. Then he was in the driver's seat. This is now. There's a lot of money to be made here. We all know how Craig feels about that.
Carly: Okay. I'll keep it in mind, okay?
Carly: I guess I'll see you around then.
Carly: Good night, Jack.
Jack: Good morning, Carly.
Carly: Stop it, with those eyes. You're messing with my head.
Jack: That's only fair, seeing I can never seem to get you out of mine. Take care of yourself.
