Episode #22

Provided By Gisele

Jesse: She is so weak. The things they did to her, they forced her to do -- the drugs... [Voice breaking] Everything.

Lea: It's amazing Cassandra ended up at your house? Do you have any idea how?

Zach: Let's just be glad that she's back. How about that?

Lea: Of course. This just doesn't make any sense. Cassandra didn't have any money, any transportation that we know of, yet she made it all the way back home. Did she tell you how, Jesse?

Jesse: [Sniffles] No, I [Sighs]

[Knock on door]

Opal: Oh. Uh, may I help you?

Gretchen : I'm Gretchen Seager. I'm a realtor in the area. I have a client who is very interested in Cortlandt Manor. He's willing to make you a very generous offer.

Opal: [Scoffs] Well, that's very nice to hear, but this is my family home. I have no intention of leaving it except in a box.

Gretchen : If you would just hear me out --

Opal: No, I'm not interested.

[Door closes]

Brooke: Celia, uh, this is Dimitri Marick. Dimitri, this is Celia Fitzgerald.

Celia: Hi. It's so nice to meet you, Mr. Marick.

Dimitri: Well, it's -- it's nice to meet you, too.

Brooke: Dimitri's an old friend, and he's a very brave man, because he has decided to join us in our new venture as our executive producer.

Celia: Wow. That's great. You're gonna love working with Brooke. She is the best. And I will help you in any way I can.

Dimitri: Well, that's very kind of you. I may take you up on that offer.

Brooke: Yes. Uh, actually, he needs an intern. Are you interested?

Celia: Uh, yeah! Uh, absolutely. Uh, that would be amazing. Well, I just have to check... Thank you so much.

Dimitri: Oh, if it's a problem with school, we can work around your schedule.

Celia: Oh, no. I have this guardian who says no to... everything.

Dimitri: Well, I'm sure your guardian wouldn't deny you a chance like this.

Brooke: Oh, you would be surprised. Anyway, I'll work on it, and we will hope that he gives you the green light.

JR: [Sighs]

[Knock on door]

Cara: JR.

JR: Hey.

Cara: Did you think I wasn't gonna find out?

Dixie: So, Cassandra has a long process ahead of her. She's going to need a lot of support.

Dr. Anders: Withdrawal can take a considerable toll. The pain alone can be --

Dixie: Her symptoms will be medically managed in order to reduce any discomfort.

Dr. Anders: We'll do what we can, but, uh... it can be brutal. The next step is detox, and we'll establish a protocol as we progress.

Angie: And she'll need therapy.

Dr. Anders: Right. Uh, therapy. I strongly suggest that you work with someone other than Mrs. Martin.

Dixie: Dr. Hubbard and I have discussed this at length, and given the specifics of the situation, my relationship with the Hubbards and with Cassandra could benefit the patient.

Angie: I agree with Dixie.

Dr. Anders: Very well, then.

Jesse: So, what happens now?

Dr. Anders: Well, as a victim of sex trafficking, uh, we'll be running a series of tests -- venereal diseases, HIV, hepatitis, herpes, pregnancy -- that sort of thing.

Angie: [Moans]

Jesse: Oh, my God.

Dixie: With love and support, Cass will get through this.

Dr. Anders: You know, she's lucky in many ways. She has some bruises, but no broken bones, no internal bleeding, no vaginal tearing, which is common in cases like this -- things she's been through.

Dixie: I know it's a lot. It's a lot to deal with. That is why Cassandra needs to get into therapy as soon as she is physically able.

Angie: How did this happen to her? And will she ever, ever be the same again. Dixie's right. Cassandra's home, but... this hell is not over.

Jesse: I will do everything in my power to make this right.

Angie: I'm gonna go sit with her.

Jesse: I'll be in in a minute. I'm gonna make some calls.

David: Do you mind if I check on her?

Jesse: [Nods] Hey. You saved her life. And I thank you for that.

Angie: David. Thank God it was you who found her. Thank you.

Brooke: I want David to be comfortable.

Dimitri: Until you start the questions.

Brooke: Hm-hmm. And, Celia, stay close to Dimitri -- whatever he needs.

Celia: Yeah. Of course.

Brooke: Okay.

Pete: Why don't you, uh, grab some coffee, Mom? I'll be right in there, okay?

Opal: Okay.

Brooke: Uh, hi! [Chuckles] I didn't expect to see you.

Pete: Hayward's my partner. I want some say in the ground rules.

Brooke: Well, my interview is with David.

Pete: Understood. But he's representing Cortech. I want to make sure whatever spin you play for ratings doesn't slime my company, okay? And I get this whole town hates David, but I'm not gonna let my dad's company be a casualty to some old grudge.

Brooke: [Scoffing] Oh.

Dimitri: Dimitri Marick.

Brooke: Uh, Dimitri is our new executive producer.

Pete: Pete Cortlandt.

Dimitri: Palmer's son! [Chuckles] You know, your father and I, uh, didn't see eye-to-eye on many things. But he was a master in business and a class act. Being the executive producer here, I want to assure you that Brooke has only the truth as her main interest in this interview.

Pete: I respect you, Brooke. I do, but... sometimes, the truth can be a little tricky.

Dimitri: Well, if David or you can't handle that, then that's your problem, and Cortech's.

Brooke: Celia, could you do me a favor? Uh, go to my office and get the notes that I made on the questions for the interview with David.

Celia: Yeah. Yeah. I'll be right back.

Brooke: Thanks.

JR: I can explain okay? I was just --

Cara: I warned you what would happen. If you overdo your workout, you will do more damage than good!

JR: Yeah, I -- [Sighs] Look, I just -- I want back into Chandler, you know? And I don't want to fall on my face in front of my son anymore, you know -- embarrass myself. So, I'm pushing.

Cara: [Sighs]

JR: But look. I'll take it easy, okay? Agreed?

Cara: [Sighs] Okay.

[Cell phone whistles]

JR: What -- good news?

Cara: Yeah. My mom just sent me a picture of Oliver on the beach.

JR: [Chuckling] Oh.

Cara: [Sighs] What I wouldn't give just to have one hour with him, you know? [Voice breaking] He knows how to make everything feel better. [Sighs]

JR: Gets that from his mom, you know?

Cara: You want to go for a walk -- stretch your legs out?

JR: Sure.

Cara: Okay.

[Door closes]

Opal: Oh! Celia! I didn't know you worked here.

Celia: Hi, Mrs. Cortlandt. Uh, I mean, Opal.

Opal: [Chuckles] So, how you holding up, honey. I mean since the breakup and all.

Celia: Oh, I'm -- I'm good.

Opal: Are you? I know it's hard, but you have to let Petey go. Believe me, I am having to do it, too. I mean, it isn't exactly the same, me being his mama and you, but at least, he isn't moving out and leaving you all alone in some cold, drafty mansion!

Celia: Oh, is Pete moving back to California?

Opal: Oh, God. No! No, he's just moving across town to one of those swanky lofts near Cortlandt Electronics. Evidently, he believes he needs his privacy for entertaining. Can you believe that?

Celia: [Sighs] I should really get this back to Brooke.

Opal: Oh, here! Why don't I deliver it? I'm just going in there, anyway. Nice to see you, honey.

Celia: Yeah.

Opal: Well, if you don't look like Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric all rolled into one!

[Both laugh]

Brooke: Well, thank you, I think.

Opal: Yeah! Oh, my stars and stri -- Is that Dimitri Marick?

Dimitri: Hi, Opal.

Opal: Oh, my Lord! Let me look at you! I-I just -- I-I mean, you are just... well, heart-stopping as ever.

Dimitri: Yeah, yeah. And you -- you are still one of a kind.

Opal: Oh, boy, you could blow me over. What are you doing here in town? Are you staying? I mean, when did you get back? Where's Alex?

Dimitri: [Sighs] [Laughing] It's so good to see you?

Opal: Oh! [Laughs] Likewise, likewise. I'll tell you somebody who is gonna really be spitting mad when she finds out she missed you. That's Erica Kane!

Dimitri: Well, uh, she's not in town?

Opal: Not at the moment, no. She was stepping onto some plane to some exotic locale last time we spoke -- wasn't quite sure when she'd be back. But, uh, hey! How about if you and me and Alex have dinner one night?

Dimitri: [Sighs] [Stammering] That would be really nice. It would just be me, though.

Opal: You're s-single?

Brooke: Uh, D-Dimitri is here because he's our new, uh, executive producer.

Opal: And you're staying in Pine Valley? That is the best news I have heard in a dog day!

Dimitri: [Laughs]

Opal: Oh, my gosh! [Laughing]

Cara: It's a beautiful day, right?

JR: Yeah. But you'd rather be on a beach in Puerto Rico, chasing waves with Oliver. You know, I missed five years of my own son's life, so I know it must be killing you, being away from him. I mean, not to mention how he feels being away from his mom.

Cara: Yeah. Well... what choice do I have, you know? I can't really risk a quick visit to see him, and then have David find out that his son is still alive.

JR: Even though it makes you lose time with Oliver you'll never get back. I'm sorry. I don't -- I don't mean to make you feel worse.

Cara: No. It's... It's what it is, right? Um, but that does remind me -- I need to get some brownies from in there -- they're his favorite -- for his next care package, so, you're gonna -- well, you're not going very far. So, I'll see you in a bit, okay?

JR: I'll go slow -- like I have a choice.

Cara: All right.

JR: Hey, it's JR Chandler. Yeah. I need a big favor.

Pete: You working here now?

Celia: Your mom said you're moving out.

Pete: Yeah. Uh, it's closer to Cortlandt. It only makes sense with all the OT I've been putting in.

Celia: And there's that, uh, entertaining your mom mentioned.

Pete: Excuse me?

Celia: A grown boy needs his privacy, right?

Pete: I'm surprised you care, since you broke up with me.

Celia: I'm just glad you're having so much fun.

Pete: I need to go over this.

Celia: Hmm. Don't let me stop you.

Pete: You told Celia I wanted to find my own place so I could entertain? Really, Mom?

Opal: She asked how you were. What was I supposed to do, lie about your moving out?

Pete: You didn't have to connect all the dots!

Opal: She did that all by herself. I didn't help her with that. Of course, you could prove her wrong by not moving out.

Pete: [Scoffs] I love you. But I need to be out on my own again. Besides, I already closed on the lease.

Opal: Who's gonna take care of you?

Pete: No one can take care of me like you.

Opal: Yeah!

Pete: But the building has, like, its own cleaning service and laundry and all types of stuff. It even has, like, its in-house pet sitter.

Opal: Well, sounds like you'll be living in high cotton.

Pete: Almost as good as living with Mom.

Opal: Mm. Uh, yes. Hello. This is Opal Cortlandt calling. About that matter we discussed, um... when we met last -- I've changed my mind.

Lea: Well, no sign of forced entry.

Zach: What are you looking for?

Lea: You saw Cassandra -- the shape she was in. There's no way she could have escaped and gotten here on her own? And do you honestly think she still had a key?

Zach: What do you think -- someone dumped her here?

Lea: I think who dumped her definitely picked the lock. But why do that? Why bring her home? The Koslovs don't like witnesses. Who would do this? Uri's dead.

Zach: Someone who could gain something by Uri being out of the picture. I've been with you the whole time, so you're gonna have to go look for Uri's killer somewhere else.

Dixie: Excuse me. Uh... is this gonna be a problem -- me on the case?

Dr. Anders: It's nothing personal.

Dixie: You don't think I can maintain a professional distance, because the Hubbards are my friends?

Dr. Anders: It's something to consider, uh --

Dixie: I appreciate your input, Doctor. I really do. But you have to understand that this case is important to me.

Dr. Anders: Well, because they're your friends.

Dixie: Because I want to help this family heal! Because I'm a mother!

Dr. Anders: You're married?

Dixie: Engaged.

Dr. Anders: Ah. How nice. I'll note you as the therapist of record. You're very highly recommended.

Dixie: What -- you checked up on me?

Dr. Anders: Cassandra will need the best. Uh, this is gonna be very difficult for her and her parents.

Dixie: Yes, I agree! That's why we have to work together closely unless you have a problem with that.

Dr. Anders: You're very good at what you do. I welcome the opportunity to work with you.

Jesse: I could kill you for what you did to my daughter?

Uri: Where is gratitude?

Jesse: You got her hooked on drugs, and she almost died, you filthy son of a flea-ridden whore.

Uri: She's home. Is not that what you wanted?

Jesse: It's over, Koslov. I'm done. I'm going to the Feds, and I'm gonna tell them everything.

Uri: You might want to rethink that. You have broken law. If you go to FBI, your career is over. And what about your precious family? Your son, the doctor... and his wife. Did you know they went to dinner last night? Randi looks so lovely in pink. And Natalia and Brot -- such upstanding police officers, on their way up the ranks. You must be so proud. Are you there? Because I want you know that Natalia and Randi could make me fortune just like Cass. [Chuckles] They'd probably be just as feisty.

Jesse: You... bastard.

Uri: I own you, Chief Hubbard. For your sake and sake of your family... don't ever forget that.

JR: I hope Oliver doesn't mind we're eating one of his brownies.

Cara: I think he'd be thrilled, actually. I wish you could meet him someday.

JR: Yeah. I'd like that.

Cara: It's for you.

JR: Actually... this is for you.

Cara: Me?

JR: Yeah, and Oliver.

Cara: What?

JR: Well, I know that you can't go down there to visit him, and he certainly can't come here without risking Hayward finding out. But I don't see why you guys can't spend a few days at the amusement park together.

Cara: You got us premium passes?

JR: Mm-hmm, and the Chandler jet to get you there.

Cara: Oh, wow. I -- that -- I can't accept this.

JR: Well, that's for Oliver, so you can't say no.

Cara: [Sighs] [Voice breaking] You're incredible.

JR: Oh... I just know what it's like when you miss your kid.

Cara: Thank you. Thank you so much.

Gretchen: This is one of the premier properties in Pine Valley. I can't believe how quickly the owner decided to sell. Are you ready to write up the offer? [Shakes hands with Billy Clyde]

Opal: Hey. You're not upset with me, are you, for telling Celia that you're moving out?

Pete: No, I'm not. Wait. You didn't tell her that you found me with Colby, did you?

Opal: That is an image I hope to erase from my mind. No, I didn't say a word.

Pete: [Sighs] Thank you.

Opal: But you did mean what you said, didn't you? That you're not gonna get involved with Colby Chandler?

Pete: Yeah. She's just a friend. Celia's... never mind.

Opal: You are over Celia, aren't you, honey?

Pete: Totally.

Brooke: David is enough to deal with, and now Pete wants to stage-manage? I mean, I've got my hands full.

Dimitri: You'll take 'em both on, and you won't break a sweat!

Brooke: Oh... I think this is going to be quite an adventure... and not just today. So, are you ready for this?

Dimitri: There is no place I would rather be.

Brooke: Mm.

Celia: Hey! I'm so sorry I'm late!

Evelyn: Are you okay?

Celia: Yeah! [Sighs] No, not really. I saw Pete. [Sighs]

Evelyn: Ah.

Celia: It doesn't matter.

Evelyn: I know it hurts, honey, but it is for the best.

Celia: [Chuckles] I did get some good news. Brooke offered me the internship at "Talk Tempo." Isn't that cool?

Evelyn: That's wonderful!

Celia: Yeah! I mean, I'd get to work with a lot of amazing people and be a part of something really exciting. And I'd be working for the executive producer.

Evelyn: Wow!

Celia: [Chuckling] Yeah. Better than me sitting around feeling sorry for myself. Of course, my guardian will probably think of a million reasons why I shouldn't do it.

Evelyn: Well, I think this internship is exactly what you need. And as far as your guardian is concerned... I'll talk to him, and I'll convince him that I'm right.

Celia: Really?

Evelyn: Really.

Celia: Thank you! You are the best!

Gretchen: This is the last page.

Billy Clyde: Mm.

Gretchen: You sure about this?

Billy Clyde: [Chuckles] I am.

Gretchen: It's not too late to negotiate a better deal.

Billy Clyde: It's hoitus coitus with me, my darling.

Gretchen: You're paying hundreds of thousands of dollars over market value.

Billy Clyde: Why, that's quite all right. I'm still richer than God, my dear.

Cassandra: [Whimpers] At first, it was just pills. I wouldn't take them. [Sobs] And then they injected me.

Dixie: We're gonna get you healthy again, Cassandra.

Cassandra: Oh, God. I can't...

Angie: It's okay, baby.

Cassandra: [Crying]

Angie: It's okay. Mama's here.

Cassandra: Okay. They forced me to do things, Mom. I'm so sorry.

Angie: You have nothing to be sorry for.

Cassandra: [Sobbing] Thank you.

Jesse: Don't. Oh, baby. Don't.

Cassandra: They were gonna send me away... ship me somewhere. I was so afraid I wasn't gonna see you again. But then... I heard your voice, and... I knew I was gonna be okay.
