Tad: Cara, I'm begging you. Look, if you don't meet with Immigration, you're gonna get deported.
Cara: Look, I'm not your priority anymore, ok?
David: Would you two mind taking this marital spat someplace less public, please?
Tad: Would you mind getting stuffed?
Cara: You know what? He's right. This isn't the place.
David: Dr. Merbs, I got your call. How is she?
Dr. Merbs: Critical. I met the ambulance outside.
David: Agnes, we're gonna take very good care of you. You're gonna be just fine. Clear cube three for Mrs. Eckhart, stat.
Nurse: Right away.
David: Whatever it takes, we're gonna save her. Without Agnes' kindness and generosity, Pine Valley Hospital wouldn't be on the map.
Bianca: What's wrong?
Marissa: J.R. is blackmailing me.
Marissa: If I don't do exactly what he wants, he's gonna throw us a coming-out party that we'll never forget.
Scott: Aren't you supposed to be getting ready for the big meeting at Chandler?
J.R.: A.J. is finally coming home. The latest and greatest -- I want everything to be perfect.
Scott: If you don't show up, take a stand, you could lose the company.
J.R.: I said my son's coming back home. Once he's settled, I will deal with Chandler the way that I always do, Scott.
Scott: Marissa has full custody. What's with all the confidence?
J.R.: I've got a secret weapon.
Jesse: What can I do, Angela? Baby, what do you need me to do? What do you need me to do?
Angie: Tell me about Ellie. Tell me about our little girl.
Scott: This secret weapon -- it isn't denial, is it? Because it's gonna blow up in your face.
J.R.: It's solid. Hey, that's private.
Scott: Oh, really? Internet porn? What, are you trading the scotch for skin?
J.R.: No, not just any skin. Go ahead, take another look.
Scott: No. I saw enough.
J.R.: No, you didn't. It's Marissa and her new girlfriend Binky. Take another look.
Scott: Are you kidding me? What, J.R., you recorded them?
J.R.: It's genius, right? Hey, I'm just trying to protect my son.
Scott: Really? By blackmailing his mother with a sex tape?
Cara: What do we got?
Dr. Merbs: Double vision, facial paralysis, drooping eyelids, slurred speech.
Cara: Cat scan ruled out a stroke?
Dr. Merbs: I considered myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barre, but there's nothing conclusive.
Cara: Mrs. Eckhart? Hi. Can you tell me what you ate today?
Agnes: Uh, some toast and some canned huckleberries which my granddaughter made.
Dr. Merbs: All the symptoms.
Cara: Do you have any allergies?
Cara: I need an injectable trivalent antitoxin, stat.
Jesse: Ellie was -- she was so tiny -- and light as a butterfly. And she had your dimples, your perfect little mouth, with the most peaceful look on her face like a little angel. I should've told you as soon as you came to, Angela, but I -- I couldn't say those words. I couldn't -- I couldn't say "Ellie's dead." I couldn't break your heart like that, the way it's breaking now. I'm so sorry.
Angie: I woke up, and I was calling out for you. I needed to hold her, because I was afraid. When I went into labor, I knew there was something wrong. I could feel it. I knew. I -- and now -- and now Ellie's here.
Jesse: I come here every day to see her and tell her how much she's loved, how much we love her. And I tell her about everything her mother risked to bring her into this world.
Angie: Our baby died. You put a baby in my arms. How is that possible? Where did she come from?
Cara: You should feel better very soon. Ok? Just wait a few days before you start dancing.
Agnes: I will.
Dr. Merbs: I'm impressed. How were you so sure that it was botulism?
Cara: I worked in Third-World countries for years, and botulism isn't exactly rare. So I think we should round up that can of fruit and find out if anyone else has tried it.
Dr. Merbs: Yeah, I'll get the staff right on it.
David: And how is our favorite patient doing?
Agnes: Alive, thanks to Dr. Castillo.
David: She is one of our best. We almost lost you, Agnes. We're not quite ready to do that yet.
Agnes: But, David, I saw your father.
David: Excuse me?
Agnes: You know the tunnel of light? I was in it -- oh, and it's just what people said. It's gorgeous. But your father was there, and he gave me a message for you.
Dixie: How was the interview with Immigration?
Tad: It didn't happen.
Tad: Because Cara didn't want it to.
Dixie: But so much is at stake for Cara, and all the work that you guys went in to making your marriage seem real. Which would've been real if I hadn't shown up.
Tad: Hey, don't. Do me a favor, ok? Big favor -- don't ever say that to me ever again. You being here is like a total miracle.
Dixie: Yes. The miracle kind of lost its shine when you saw me and David.
Tad: Yeah, it's really been -- it's been a really, really bad day. Could we just not talk about that right now?
Dixie: What, and just let it suck up all the air out of the room? Ha ha ha!
Tad: You want to go first? Oh, I knew you were gonna do that. Ok. Ok. You and David. I knew there was nothing going on. I know that. It's just that seeing the two of you together like that so close just brought back a lot of memories. It was kind of a kick in the teeth. Anyway, look. The past is the past, ok? The past is over. Boom. Moving on.
Tad: Again? Then -- "no"?
Dixie: Listen. If we are really gonna have a real future, if we're really gonna get it right this time, we can't just move on. We can't just ignore all these things that we've done to one another. We have some issues, and I think we should face them -- and why not right here, right now?
J.R.: What do you care if the whole world sees Marissa in her lesbian glory? She rejected us, cousin, all men everywhere. We're not good enough.
Scott: Look, I don't care who Marissa loves as long as she's happy.
J.R.: No. A.J. doesn't need to grow up in that environment.
Scott: Ha. Yes, yes, so much better to be raised by a drunken bitter father who would blackmail his son's mother.
J.R.: I'm done with the booze. I'm sober. But I doubt that Marissa's ever gonna stop being a lesbian.
Scott: J.R., if you try to use that sex tape, I'm gonna stop you.
J.R.: If I push that little button, it goes viral. Not much you can stop about that. Everybody's gonna think that Marissa made it, and she put it out there.
Scott: You would really blow up Marissa's life?
J.R.: Oh, it's all about finesse. It doesn't really have to go viral. Just the threat of it going viral -- that's enough. Come on, Scott. We're talking about Marissa here. She's a wimp. She'll cave before it ever gets seen, and I'll have my son back.
Scott: Did you include Colby in on your plan, or have you gone solo?
Colby: What are you talking about?
Scott: Why don't you ask your brother?
Colby: Ok, J.R., am I gonna hate you now?
Bianca: J.R. planted a camera by your bed?
Marissa: Yeah. It's sick, I know. And if I don't give him custody of A.J., he's going to release the video to the whole world.
Bianca: J.R. has never been rational about getting what he wants, but this is --
Marissa: I know. He just hates me so much that he just wants to hurt me. But he's hurting you, too, and Miranda and Gaby, and he's hurting A.J. more than anyone else. What am I gonna do?
Bianca: No. What are "we" gonna do? The only way to fight J.R. is together.
Jesse: The baby, um --
Angie: Where did Lucy come from? You said she was abandoned, but how is it possible? We were in that empty house. I came to, and it was just so quiet -- and you weren't next to me. I called out for you and told you that I needed to hold my baby. You didn't respond immediately. But then you put Lucy in my arms. It's as if she appeared on the doorstep at the very moment we'd lost our little girl.
Jesse: That's almost exactly how it happened.
Cara: So your vitals are strong. We're just gonna continue to monitor you.
Agnes: Thank you.
David: So you saw my father?
Agnes: As clearly as I see you now.
David: And he had a message for me?
Agnes: He was very concerned about your life story. He was worried about how you turn people's lives upside down.
David: But I'm so good at it.
Agnes: Your father was very worried about you. He's so afraid you'll make the wrong choices.
David: Well, he's up there, and I'm down here. Different rules apply, different choices.
Cara: Take care of yourself, Agnes.
Agnes: I will. I owe her my life. I wish there was something I could do to show my gratitude.
David: Actually, there is something that you might be able to do for her. Cara's been having some trouble lately with Immigration.
Agnes: Oh, tell me more.
Colby: Oh, my God. What the hell --
Scott: Yeah, that's J.R. being proactive. He put a little camera in Marissa's hotel room.
Colby: J.R., you're sick.
Liza: The door was open. Listen, we got a lot of work to do on this custody appeal, so let's get going.
Colby: No, Mom -- excuse me -- I want you to leave.
Colby: I asked you to stay on as J.R.'s lawyer, and --
Liza: I know. That's why I'm staying.
Colby: Well, I was wrong. He doesn't deserve your help.
Tad: You know what still keeps me awake at night sometimes is not the affair. Isn't that strange? It wasn't what happened between you and David; it was the fact that after it was over, and you decided you had to leave when you were pregnant with Kathy, you turned to the same guy who stuck a knife in my back to do it.
Dixie: I will never stop regretting that -- and the pain that it caused you.
Tad: Oh, come on. Look, we dealt with this. We dealt with it, and I thought I was past it. And to be fair to you, I'm sorry. Because I think what's going on here is I just feel like my life is -- I'm in the same place. Nothing ever chances. Same thing happens over and over again. Once again I get a ringside seat to watch somebody I have learned to care for very much -- Cara -- throw her life in the toilet by trusting that oily, laconic snake, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Dixie: Oh, but I think Cara's pretty smart. I think she'll figure it out.
Tad: You didn't. Not until it was too late.
Dixie: I just feel like all you did was love me, and I hurt you so much!
Tad: Look, stop. No, stop. I'm not trying to play the victim here. That's not what this is about. Look, God only knows how much I tortured you. The past is the past. It doesn't cost you something. The only thing that's important right now is this: The fact that you're here in spite of everything life or Hayward or fate has thrown our way. We're together again, so no more apologizing.
Dixie: Maybe I'll stop apologizing when you forgive me.
Tad: Of course, I've forgiven you. I've forgiven you.
Dixie: Tad, I know you. I saw you. I heard you. You were mad. You were hurt. It was like it was all happening all over again. If that's how you really feel and if that's the way it's gonna be, maybe you're never gonna forgive me. [Crying]
Jesse: Lucy appearing like that, I knew it was a desperate move. I just felt like it was meant to be. I mean, here I was holding Ellie in my arms, trying my best to will her back to life. And then all of a sudden I hear this baby cry, and I swear to God it was just too surreal. I mean, I thought, "What else could this be but a sign?"
Angie: I don't understand. Who left her?
Jesse: She was -- she was left in a box, no identification. Apparently, whoever it was thought she'd be a lot better off with us.
Angie: Like Maya. Poor Maya, so desperate and so alone. You take a chance on -- take a chance that strangers would be better par -- oh, God. Is Maya Lucy's mother?
Tad: Hey, look at me. I forgive you. Believe me, I forgive you. It's the forgetting I'm not so good at.
Dixie: I know. There's more. Me alive and suddenly home is kind of the main reason that Cara turned to David. So in a way, I am hurting you all over again.
Tad: You're beating yourself up. That's ridiculous. This is crazy. She's a smart human being. She makes her own choices like anybody else. I'm not about to blame you for that.
Dixie: You guys were in love, and you were starting a happy marriage, and then I showed up. Can you honestly say there's not some part of you that's not just a little upset?
David: Your sweet patient Agnes happens to be a major player -- connections everywhere, including the State Department.
Cara: Ok. You told her about my situation?
David: Yes, I did. Agnes loves a good story. One thing she loves even more is a happy ending. Her friends at the State Department agreed that you should be granted legal status based on merit, not marriage. Which means you no longer have to be married to Tad, shackled in the grisly bonds of matrimony for three long years. Now you can focus on what's important: Your work, Orpheus. Why does it seem like I'm more enthusiastic about this than you? This is good news, right?
Cara: Yeah. It's, uh, great. It's great news.
David: All right. So what is it? Are you having second thoughts about ending your marriage to Tad?
Cara: No. Uh-uh. It's, um -- thank you.
David: You don't have to thank me. Agnes is the one who pulled it off.
Cara: But you brought it to her attention. I appreciate that -- more than you could know.
Marissa: I'm so sorry that I dragged you into this mess.
Bianca: I don't know. Sex tapes have launched a lot of careers. I mean, who knows? Maybe we'll get our own reality show.
Marissa: You're messed up.
Bianca: No, seriously, I'll protect Miranda and Gaby as best I can, ok? I'll help them through it, and you don't have to worry about me in all this. I'm a big girl.
Marissa: I just hate that all this love and this joy that we have found is being overshadowed by viral videos and tabloid headlines.
Bianca: I'm an old tabloid veteran. I know what they're gonna do. They're gonna just say whatever they want to say, and we just ignore it -- although, a sex tape is kind of hard to ignore. You're just so new at all this. The last thing you need right now is to be in a relationship where you're smutted all over the Internet.
Marissa: No. Listen, you know that I love you. I just wanted to be able to tell people in our own way so that it would be special and really mean something. I don't know. God, this video? It's just -- it's so naked for the world to see. And you know reporters will be camped out on our lawn and -- and you know they're gonna be harassing the kids.
Bianca: No, we're not gonna let that happen. We are a family. We have love. We have each other.
Marissa: I am so proud to be your partner, you know that? It's just --
Bianca: You're totally freaking out that if this tape gets passed around, that all the people who think the way J.R. thinks will target us, that they'll attack us for not living our lives the way that they think we should. Yeah, it's been happening my whole life. It does not get easier.
Marissa: How do you deal?
Bianca: I just remind myself that we're not the ones hurting anyone. I just want what everyone wants: To love who I want to love, and without being shamed or judged for it. And I deserve that. And you know what? So do you.
Liza: I thought you said there wasn't another copy of that.
J.R.: I lied.
Scott: Liza, you knew about this?
Liza: I thought he stopped it -- when I took that DVD away from you.
J.R.: Are you kidding me? Who makes just one copy of something this good?
Liza: I quit.
Colby: Thank you.
J.R.: You sure you want to do that?
Liza: I'm positive.
J.R.: Then the deal's off.
Colby: Wait. What deal?
J.R.: Go on, Liza. Tell her about the deal.
Liza: So J.R. said that if I helped him with A.J., that he would convince you to give me another chance.
Colby: You just don't stop, do you?
J.R.: I'm just trying to make everyone happy.
Colby: No, you're not. No, you're trying to be Dad. You're trying to control everything.
J.R.: And he walked out on you, and I'm still here!
Colby: You know what? I'm done with you. And did you actually make a deal to get me back?
Liza: Stupid, stupid, I know. I just make stupid mistakes when you're involved, and I know that you are mad. But if you don't want to be here anymore, you can have your old room back.
Colby: I'll take it.
Liza: And I promise that I'm gonna give you all the space that you need.
Colby: Ok. I guess I'll come back later and get my things.
J.R.: You can't move out.
Colby: What are you gonna do, huh? What are you gonna do, blackmail me now?
J.R.: You happy?
Scott: Oh, I'm getting there. And, look, I know you want A.J. back, but don't even think about using that.
J.R.: I don't need any of them. My son is coming home.
Angie: Answer me, Jesse. Say it -- Maya is Lucy's mother.
Jesse: She is. She is.
Angie: When did you find out? When Maya decided to look for her baby?
Jesse: Not exactly.
Angie: You knew before that?
Angie: You let Maya take care of Lucy, knowing that the child was hers?
Jesse: Maya didn't have any idea, and you were already so in love with this baby, you being such an amazing mother.
Angie: But I'm not her mother.
Jesse: I wanted to tell you that, but I couldn't break your heart.
Angie: Maya's heart is breaking! What about her?!
Jesse: I've been looking all over the place for the answers to that. I'm praying to God for some kind of guidance.
Angie: Oh, so God made you live this lie?!
Jesse: Maya is the mother of the baby. She was absolutely sure that she could not handle it. She left the baby in a box, and she never looked back.
Angie: Ohh. Well, she's looking now -- and we have to tell her the truth.
Scott: A.J. is not here yet?
J.R.: He should be any minute.
Scott: I'm just glad my dad's not here to see this.
J.R.: Really? Because my dad would give me a pat on the back and a hand.
Scott: My father's the one we're talking about. In fact, I think he's the only one who could get through to you and Uncle Adam.
J.R.: Ladies. Where's A.J.?
Marissa: He's not coming.
J.R.: Then you know what that means.
Marissa: Go ahead, J.R., do it. Release the tape. I will not be blackmailed, and neither will Bianca.
Tad: Cara Castillo is an amazing woman, amazing, and she's come to mean a lot to me. There's a part of me that loves her, but you can't honestly think that it holds a candle to what you and I have.
Dixie: The day I showed up, you were going on your honeymoon.
Tad: Yes. Because I felt it was time to move on not just because of how I'd come to feel about Cara, but because -- I thought it was time to give myself permission. I was tired of living in the past.
Dixie: And then your past showed up.
Tad: And it's the most amazing thing, the best thing, that's ever happened to me.
Dixie: It's not all starry skies.
Tad: It's not supposed to be, Dixie. Life costs -- it comes with the dinner, you know? We have a past, and we've made mistakes and there are things that we have to work on, and that's why this is so amazing, because we get the chance to do it. We were well on our way, and then you were taken from me. And now we have a chance to pick up where we left off, to get it right.
Dixie: So no regrets about Cara?
Cara: Tad? Oh. Hi, Dixie. I didn't -- it was unlocked. Am I interrupting?
Tad: No, not at all.
Cara: Ok. I've got news -- good news. I'm legal. I got my green card, and you're free.
Angie: Maya's been so worried about her child -- where she is, how she is -- and all this time the baby's been with us. When Maya knows the truth, she's gonna want Lucy back. We need to tell Maya.
Jesse: Let's go home and see if we can work this out.
Angie: No. I'm not leaving my baby.
Tad: Leave it to Agnes. I always knew she had connections. I just never knew they went that high.
Cara: Thank you.
Tad: So what now?
Cara: I move, actually. As soon as I find a place, I'm gonna pack all my stuff up.
Tad: You can take all the time you need.
Cara: Oh, no. I'm thinking the sooner the better.
Tad: Anything I can do to help?
Cara: Hmm. Let's see. The last time I needed your help, you married me, and you barely even knew me, so I think I am well out of favors. Thank you.
Tad: Thank you. You paid me back a thousand times over.
Cara: I'm never gonna forget you and everything that you've done for me. [Hug] Bye.
J.R.: You can't be serious?
Marissa: I won't be blackmailed.
J.R.: Hmm. Then you're gonna be exposed to the world in so many ways.
Marissa: I will deal with it. We're gonna deal with it together.
J.R.: Did you put her up to this?
Bianca: Marissa knows what she wants.
J.R.: I don't think so. Switching to girls, I think she's confused. I think she's following your lead.
Scott: Or maybe it's Marissa knowing that you can throw your worst at her, and she will survive, because they have each other. Love, family -- something that you don't have.
J.R.: Then it's gonna be a hell of a scandal. Do you and Bianca really want to put A.J., Miranda, and Gaby through that?
Marissa: We won't be putting them through it, you will. And no matter how you try to spin it, if A.J. asks me where the video came from, I will tell him the truth. Every second of unhappiness, it'll be your fault, and he will know it.
Scott: Well. Looks like Marissa isn't such a wimp after all.
Angie: I never got to say good-bye, because you chose for me. You decided that I couldn't handle her death. You decided that it was better to lie to me, to love another child as my own for months. I need to be with my baby. I need to talk to Ellie and just let her know that I love her.
Jesse: We'll stay.
Angie: Alone, Jesse.
Jesse: Angela, I cannot leave you here alone.
Angie: Please let me be alone with my baby!
