Tad: So you think Kathy and Jenny have taken over the kitchen in there?
Cara: Huh? What?
Tad: I already called -- the hospital. Jake is fine. The concussion was mild. He'll be going home tomorrow.
Cara: Yeah. I'm the reason that he's in there. I just want to make sure he's ok, that's all.
Tad: You've already been there one time too many, and Amanda's with him. I'm sure she's taking very good care of him.
Amanda: Hey. How do you feel? You ok?
Cara: Oh, my God. Really?
Jake: What's going on? Oh.
Cara: Come on!
Jake: Just get in here and join me.
Cara: We got to go! Hey! It's our wedding day, baby. Come on.
Jake: Hey, it's our wedding day. All right. Ok. I'm good.
Tad: Just do me a favor and promise to get some real rings. Uh, I guess by the power vested in me by the world wide web, I now pronounce you man and wife. Oh, yes.
Marissa: Hey, what's this?
J.R.: Breakfast. I hope you slept well? I was also hoping that you might want to get a bite to eat this morning.
Marissa: Actually, I need to talk to you about something.
J.R.: Sure. Would you like a croissant first?
Marissa: Oh, you're good.
J.R.: Just "good?"
J.R.: Talk to me.
Maya: Bianca Montgomery here for Ms. Chandler.
Bianca: Sorry. I'm interrupting.
Marissa: Oh, no, that's ok. What is it? What's wrong?
Bianca: I have a situation, and I need backup.
Ricky: I just want to confirm the food order. Yes, I know it's a lot of food, but we're gonna be at sea for a long time. We're looking forward to spending a lot of time together alone. Yes, it is very romantic. Now all I need is the girl.
Kendall: Has it been 20 minutes yet?
Griffin: Yeah -- plus 9 hours.
Kendall: What? I slept all night? No. I said 20 minutes.
Griffin: You clearly needed the sleep.
Kendall: No, not 9 hours. Why didn't you wake me when I asked you to wake me?
Griffin: The truth?
Griffin: I didn't want you to go. Ricky's getting more and more aggressive. If you had shown up last night, there's a good chance he would've gone to your house.
Kendall: No, I can handle Ricky.
Griffin: He had you on his bed last night, ok? If I hadn't cracked that vase in the hallway --
Kendall: Griffin, I would've figured a way out of it.
Griffin: You're welcome. You should have some breakfast.
Kendall: No, no, I should go.
Griffin: No, you need to eat.
Kendall: Yeah, I know, but I feel like I'm a mess here. I don't want to eat in this.
Griffin: All right. I got it. Put this on.
Kendall: What's this? All right. Ok. All right, I will. Smells clean, yeah. All right, turn around.
Griffin: Kendall, come on. I'm a doctor.
Kendall: Turn around!
Kendall: So this breakfast that we're having here, what is it? Is it honey-covered ants with, I don't know, almond milk and weeds?
Griffin: Can you keep a secret?
Griffin: I love sugary cereal when I'm in civilization.
Kendall: Ta-da. This is very creative, in a rustic sort of way. Do you like my shirt?
Griffin: Yeah. It's a nice color on you.
Kendall: Thank you. Ok, let's see what's going on there. Mmm. Looks tasty. Hmm-hmm-hmm. What's that? I saw something. Give me that! Give it to me! I love these! I love these! This is like a little toy. I loved these as a kid.
Griffin: Aw. Keep it. It's good luck.
Kendall: I could use all the good luck I can get.
Marissa: Thanks. What's going on?
Bianca: Fallout from what happened to Miranda and A.J. at that birthday party.
Marissa: Oh, no. Is Miranda still upset?
Bianca: Not as upset as I am. I called the principal. I told her what happened -- this girl was making fun of Miranda for having a gay mom.
Bianca: And she told me that there's nothing she can do because it all happened off of school property. Yeah. So I called Amber's mom. She agreed to meet.
Marissa: Good for you.
Bianca: I thought it was a good idea at the time, but now I just -- I'm not sure anymore. It seems to me her daughter is only repeating what she's heard at home.
Marissa: Oh. And you're worried she'll pick a fight, huh?
Bianca: I'm worried if she does, I'll take her head off.
Marissa: Then I guess it's a good idea I'm gonna come with you.
Kathy: Daddy, can we have pizza and movie night tonight?
Tad: [French accent] Yeah. You see, this is a case of smart, this here. I think this sounds like a fabulous plan, except you would have to wait until I get home from my case. Yeah?
Tad: [Normal voice] Ok. Don't break anything.
Kathy: We won't.
Cara: What case is that? Hold on a second. What case?
Tad: Just a little security job I picked up. You're not gonna finish that, are you?
Cara: No. If you want the muffin, you're gonna have to tell me the truth.
Tad: It's at the clinic.
Cara: The clinic that just hired me, "the clinic?"
Cara: Ok, so let me get this straight. Was this some kind of tradeoff thing? You help them, then they hire me?
Tad: It wasn't like that at all.
Cara: Really? Because I know they're short on supplies, they're short on staff. The space is so small, I had to call a D.W.B. friend to ship in a tent. But they got enough money to pay you? Is that what you're saying?
Tad: All right. Ok, I admit it. There was a little bartering that went on, ok, but I love what I do, you love what you do. I figure if me doing what I love allows you to do what you love, it's a win-win situation. And the fact that I know you're safe, it's just a bonus.
Cara: You are so generous.
Tad: You want the muffin, right?
Cara: No. Stop it. Give me your hand for a second and -- would you take the compliment, please? Take the compliment.
Tad: Not while Jake's in the hospital.
Cara: Because of me. Hello?
Tad: It wasn't because of you, it was because of me, because of something I did before that. Jake and I got into a fight. It was pretty heated, and I'm sure that by the time this Mackenzie's father went after him, he was already locked and loaded.
Cara: What were you fighting about?
Tad: It's not that important.
Cara: Oh, my -- were you fighting because of me?
Amanda: Can you hear me? I'll be right back, ok?
Cara: Hey. How are you, sexy?
Jake: What's all this?
Cara: Ok, here's the deal. You cannot look until I say you can.
Jake: Is that right?
Cara: Yeah. Promise?
Cara: Ok. Ready. Yes. What do you think?
Jake: Girl, you trying to give me a heart attack?
Cara: No, no! This is -- a honeymoon.
Jake: Is that right? Yeah? You gonna wear that down the aisle?
Cara: No, I'm not gonna wear it down the aisle. No, it's not gonna look good with the veil!
Jake: You could wear a potato sack. All I know is I'm marrying you today, and I just can't wait.
Cara: Me, too.
Jake: My God, you're beautiful. Beautiful. Ohh.
Amanda: Who else?
Jake: So what am I --
Amanda: You got in a fight with the father of that sick girl. He punched you and you hit your head.
Jake: Yes, I remember.
Amanda: I talked to your nurse, and your doctor's gonna be here soon. So until then, you've got me. So what do you need? You hungry? Thirsty?
Jake: It's the morning? What time is it?
Amanda: Yeah, it was a long night. That is from Trevor. He's with Opal.
Amanda: I would've rather shared the bed with you, but we could make up for that when we get home.
Tad: I told Jake that I thought it was a bad idea that he called you about Mackenzie.
Cara: But I told him to call me about her.
Tad: It doesn't matter. It's still a bad idea. He knows what's at stake -- namely your life -- and he knows you're trying to move on. By doing something like that, all he does is muddy the waters a little. He just keeps reeling you back in, and I don't think it's fair.
Cara: And I appreciate that you look out for me the way you do, but I don't want there to be tension between you two, ok? It's really important to me.
Tad: It's not a big deal. Three days ago, Jake and I were fighting about who gets the honor of cleaning out our parents' storage unit.
Cara: Ok, but this is a little different.
Tad: Ok, fine. Will you look after the kids? I got to get over to the Chandlers, talk with Marissa. It turns out our friendly neighborhood Immigration Agent Turmbull wants to interview her again, and I want to give her a heads-up.
Cara: Ok. I hope it didn't inconvenience her too much to be moving back in with her ex.
Tad: I don't know how she feels about it, but her ex is positively thrilled.
J.R.: Wait. What about breakfast?
Marissa: Oh, I'm so sorry. Can you offer the leftovers to Maya and the staff? I'll see you when I get home from work.
Marissa: I'm sorry. It was really nice of you.
Ricky: Captain, you come highly recommended by my friends in the casino business.
Captain: How may I be of service?
Ricky: I'm planning a pretty lengthy cruise, and I'm looking for a captain who can sign on for the duration and who knows how to keep what he sees and hears to himself.
Captain: I am exceptionally discreet.
Ricky: Excellent. Oh, and one more thing. Are you certified to perform a wedding?
Kendall: So did you see anyone?
Griffin: No. But there was a kid here the other day, a teenager.
Kendall: What? Why didn't you tell me?
Griffin: Because I was distracted trying to keep Reverend Ricky from mauling you.
Kendall: I have no intention of being mauled.
Griffin: Look, now that we know that Ricky's preoccupied, why don't I take you to Bianca's, huh? You can see your two sons.
[Door opens and two kids walk in]
Cara: Hi, girls. You ready to rock and roll or what?
Jenny: Can I have a PB&J to go?
Cara: Yes, yes. You know what? That is your Uncle Jake's favorite. Did you know that?
Jenny: Can we get him one, too?
Cara: Yeah. I think that's a lovely idea. Would you like one?
Kathy: No, thank you.
Cara: What?! Come on! You're not gonna let us pig out by ourselves, are you? Like this? [Snorts]
Kathy: Ha ha ha ha!
Jenny: You're funny.
Cara: Oh, you guys are so cute.
Kathy: That's why Daddy smiles so much when he's with you. Come on!
Griffin: You're hurt. Ok. Mira. Soy un medico, ok? Te puedo ayudar.
Boy: Deja que el te ayudara.
Griffin: Esta bien? Ok, get my medical bag. [Speaking Spanish] Ok?
Kendall: It's ok. Bien. Bien. Bueno. El es un medico fantastico.
Griffin: Escuchala. Ella es muy inteligente.
Kendall: He fixed my heart. Corazon -- how do you say "fixed?"
Griffin: I think they get the picture.
Kendall: He fixed my heart. We were in a crash, in an ambulance, and he saved my life. I almost died. I could have.
Griffin: Kendall, Kendall, I think you lost them. But it's nice to hear that you think I'm some kind of medical superhero.
Kendall: Don't get too full of yourself.
Bianca: Doesn't look like she's here yet.
Marissa: Right. If you need me, I'll be behind the counter.
Bianca: If I get her in a headlock, you know what to do? Thanks for coming. It means a lot.
Tami: Bianca Montgomery?
Bianca: You must be Tami?
Bianca: Thank you for coming. I really just wanted to discuss what happened with our children.
Tami: How did you have that kid, anyway?
Bianca: Uh, I'm sorry?
Tami: Did you give guys a try for a while or --
Bianca: I don't really see how that's relevant.
Tami: I'm just saying you're the one living like this. If your kid's messed up, don't blame my Amber. Blame yourself.
A.J.: Are you mad at me?
J.R.: Why would I be mad at you? Ahem. Here. Come here. Why don't you tell me what's going on?
A.J.: I pushed Justin at Amber's birthday party.
J.R.: I thought you told me that your fighting days were behind you.
A.J.: Amber was being really mean to Miranda, so was Justin.
J.R.: Why were they being mean to her?
A.J.: They called her mom a "lezzy," so I pushed him. Amber's mom said I would be in trouble. Am I?
J.R.: Not a chance. You and Miranda were born on the same day. You're like birthday twins. That makes you more like family. You were standing up for her, because you know what it's like when kids tease you about your parents. It makes you really special, you know that? I tell you what. How about you fire up that dinosaur video game? I'll catch up with you and we can go a few rounds, huh?
J.R.: All right.
Maya: Your son's lucky. You and his mom both go all out to be there for him. I'm sorry. It's none of my business. It's just not all parents pull together like that.
J.R.: No, it's no problem. Just speak your mind.
Tad: I'm glad to hear it. The door was open. I just let myself in. I hope you don't mind.
Maya: I'm so sorry, Mr. Chandler.
J.R.: No, no, don't sweat it. This one is harmless.
Tad: So you say. I'm actually here to see Marissa. Is she around?
J.R.: She took off, not that I had anything planned.
Tad: Trouble already?
J.R.: No, no trouble. Just that Marissa's pulled in so many directions, I have to fight just to get 10 minutes with her.
Tad: That could be a fringe benefit of blowing up your marriage.
J.R.: Oh, really? How's your marriage?
Tad: Never better.
J.R.: Really? Is that because you found love again, or the fact that Immigration hasn't figured out that the new Mrs. Tad Martin is in it for a green card?
Cara: Oh. Hey. What's up?
Amanda: Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for calling when that jerk attacked Jake.
Cara: I'm just glad Jake's ok.
Amanda: Do a lot of crazies in the hospital go around attacking people for no reason?
Cara: It wasn't exactly "no reason," Amanda.
Amanda: What do you mean?
Cara: Jake got in a fight because of me.
J.R.: So I'm right. The whole marriage isn't real.
Tad: Great berries.
J.R.: Why are you doing it? It's not like you can't get a date.
Tad: It's a little harder than it used to be. But the fact is Cara was in trouble, so I stepped up.
J.R.: It doesn't hurt that she's easy on the eyes.
Tad: That's got nothing to do with it. Ok, she needed help, and I was there. Because that's what civilized people do -- they help each other. It doesn't hurt that she's fun to look at and smart. Yeah, ok, fine. It's nice to have her in the house.
J.R.: And in your life?
Tad: I'm not falling for Cara, ok? It's ridiculous. It's ridiculous on so many levels. And if the thought even remotely crossed my mind, the one right after it would be -- I wouldn't want to talk about that, but the thought after that would be that I can't, because it makes no sense because she's my brother's ex.
J.R.: Yeah, as in "ex."
Tad: J.R., she only has to stay married to me until she's legal. She's gonna be out of the house the second she gets the chance. So being the intelligent person that I am, I choose not to get attached.
J.R.: But it doesn't mean you can't hope. Look at me. I obliterated Marissa's heart, but I'm gonna win her back.
Bianca: Children are innocent. They're not born sticking labels on people or calling people names. They learn that from their parents.
Tami: Good parents teach their children to stand up for what they believe in. If they see something wrong, call it out.
Bianca: You obviously disapprove of me being gay. But that makes it all right for your child to attack mine?
Tami: All Amber did was speak the truth, calling you what you are. If more people were concerned with doing what's right instead of this politically correct nonsense, this country wouldn't be going all to hell.
Bianca: I am a mother, just like you.
Tami: You are nothing like me. But you still think you should be able to marry your girlfriend over there.
Marissa: Why shouldn't Bianca be able to marry whoever she wants?
Tami: Great. Tag-teamed by the lesbians.
Bianca: She is not a --
Tami: If you can't live with people having a problem with it, then maybe you should go back into the closet.
Bianca: I'm not going anywhere! I'll see you at PTA!
Marissa: I guess she won't be making the bake sale.
Bianca: Why did you do that?
Cara: Mr. Winslow saw me. He flipped out, and Jake stood up for me.
Amanda: Just like you knew he would.
Cara's voice: I was just thinking about the honeymoon.
Jake: Doesn't mean it's not gonna happen.
Cara: How -- how did you do this?
Jake: You said today was the day that we were gonna get married, and that's not gonna change.
Cara: So between the punctured lung and the broken leg, you --
Jake: I even talked to the chopper pilot and just made him delay it a little bit so the chaplain could marry us.
Jake: Really. And if you don't mind, sit right here. I just want to say that you have taught me how to find something special in every little thing. Even if we're a million miles from nowhere, and we don't even have a half-star hotel or a fancy flower shop -- the boys helped me with these. In fact, I could take one of these flowers, and I could give it to you, and you could put it in your hair, and I could take you to the mess hall, and that place would finally smell good for once in its life. And the green beans would taste good, as well. Huh. And you have the ability to make scrubs look like -- a ball gown. So you just find beauty and love in everything. And I found you, so let's just make it official.
Cara: Of course.
Jake: Maybe we should make an annual event out of this thing. What do you say?
Amanda: Ha ha ha!
Jake: What, is that funny?
Amanda: I would marry you every day if I could. Oh, Jake, look around. This wedding -- it's perfect. I don't think we could top it. Honestly, I wouldn't want to.
[Cheers and applause]
Amanda: You're not here to check on a patient, are you? You're here to see Jake. What the hell are you doing? You trying to destroy my husband?
Kendall: These boys -- you could've just told them to get lost.
Griffin: They needed my help.
Kendall: You could've told me to get lost, too. You could've just laid low and taken care of yourself, but you didn't. You risked everything. You came out of hiding and you put yourself in the way of serious problems, problems that could ruin your life. Why would you do that?
Griffin: I don't know. Maybe I got kind of attached.
Boy: Comida --
Boy: Por ayudar a mi compadre.
Griffin: [Speaking Spanish] Muchas gracias.
Kendall: What is this? Oh, my gosh, yes.
Griffin: Ohh. Take a whiff of that. That's out of control.
Kendall: Yeah, it is. That cereal is completely soggy, and that's not good. This -- I am so hungry. Oh, I am going to go to town. Oh, my God. Ohh!
Boy: Su mujer come bien. Y es muy linda.
Griffin: Ella no es mi mujer.
Boy: Porque no? Esta muy caliente.
Griffin: Ha ha ha ha!
Kendall: "Caliente?" That means "hot," right?
Griffin: Si. Muy caliente.
Boy: Y no es su mujer? Usted esta loco.
Kendall: "Loco?" "Loco" means "crazy," right? Who's loco?
Griffin: I'm loco for tamales.
Kendall: Oh-ho-ho. Me, too. I am very crazy loco for tamales. I'm loco for tamales, yes.
Griffin: Como se llama?
Boy: Chavo. Mi compadre es Alfonso.
Griffin: Ok. Yo soy Griff. Ella es Kendall. Yo te ayude. Ahora yo necesito que tu ayudas. Ok? Nadie puede saber que estoy aqui. Es un secreto. Entiendes?
Kendall: Ok, a little help for the gringa here.
Griffin: Ok, I just explained to them that nobody can know that I'm here. They need to keep it a secret, and they're cool with that. Quiero a ir a la calle para buscar informacion. Me ayudas?
Kendall: Hola. Aqui. What's going on?
Griffin: I need to track down the dangerous drugs that they framed me for.
Kendall: Wait a minute. No, no. You want to go on the street?
Griffin: Nos encontramos afuera?
Kendall: No. I'm not gonna let you do that, Griffin. I'm not. You are wanted for murder.
Griffin: And for dealing drugs. So I'm gonna find out who the hell is responsible and clear my name.
Kendall: It's Ricky. Good morning.
Ricky: Did you sleep well?
Kendall: Yeah. Yeah. It's getting better each day.
Ricky: Look, I'm sorry about last night. I got a little carried away. And I know that you need to take things slowly.
Kendall: Thank you for understanding.
Ricky: I do. Last night made me even more sure about us. I hope you feel the same.
Kendall: Uh, last night was -- it was really nice.
Bianca: You shouldn't have gotten in the middle of it.
Marissa: That woman was an idiot.
Bianca: Now she's gonna label you, too.
Marissa: Like I give a damn what somebody that ignorant thinks!
Bianca: There are a lot more of them out there.
Marissa: To hell with them! I would be honored and proud if somebody thought that you'd choose me as your partner. God knows my last partner was -- a little lacking. Ha! What?
Bianca: Oh, it was nice to have backup.
Marissa: If you ever need it again, I'm here.
Cara: I didn't mean to hurt Jake.
Amanda: You know that he cannot help throwing himself in front of every bus even remotely headed your way, because that's who he is.
Tad: What's going on?
Amanda: Did you know that your wife is the reason that Jake's in that bed with a concussion?
Tad: Come on, Amanda, that's not true.
Cara: I never meant for there to be trouble for Jake, Amanda.
Amanda: That doesn't stop you from causing it.
Cara: I'll see you at home.
Tad: What happened to trying to work things out?
Amanda: She will not leave him alone. How much more am I supposed to take?
Cara: I'm sorry, Jake.
Man: I've got 15 minutes. Is that enough time?
Jake: Hey, chaplain. Yes, yes. I was just telling my bride-to-be here that she can find the joy in just about every single little thing. So, yes, 15 minutes, 15 seconds -- I'm putty.
Cara: I'd like to start, if that's ok?
Amanda: I know I didn't always make it easy.
Amanda: I promise to love you. I promise to laugh with you, even when you're not funny.
Jake: Impossible. I'll be there, always. Amanda Martin, you're the love of my life. You're the love of my life.
Cara's voice: I vow to love you, honor you, and respect you. I promise that I will try every day to bring you the joy that you bring me. And I will always love you.
Jake: You forgot to say "I do."
Amanda: I thought you guys were really getting along. So why is Cara still holding on to my husband?
Tad: Cara's not holding on to Jake.
Amanda: I'll bet you right now we go to Jake's room, she'll be there.
J.R.: The school board will listen to me. They can't make Miranda or A.J. or any other kid, for that matter, feel like they have to defend themselves -- who they are, where they come from. What was that for?
Marissa: I'm as proud of you as I am of A.J.
Bianca: That's a pretty flower, sweetie. Did you and Gaby have fun playing with Ian and Spike this morning?
Miranda: You left early. You were sad.
Bianca: Yeah, I was. But I'm ok now. I wanted to talk to you about Amber's birthday party.
Miranda: She's mean.
Bianca: I know she hurt your feelings, but she didn't mean it. Ok? She doesn't know any better. I wish I could promise you that something like that isn't gonna happen again. But it probably will because a lot of people are uncomfortable when someone is different from them.
Miranda: We're different.
Bianca: We are. You have two mommies.
Miranda: A.J.'s parents are divorced. His family is different, too.
Bianca: Exactly. That is exactly right. A lot of families are different in a lot of different ways. Us not being the same, it shouldn't bother anybody. But the sad thing is it does. So what do you think we should do about it? How about we keep being ourselves and loving each other? You show them that there is nothing wrong with that.
Miranda: You taught us people should never be ashamed of who they love.
Bianca: That is exactly right. Come here.
Cara: What do you mean, I forgot to say "I do?"
Jake: I'm dreaming about our wedding. I think that when you get hit in the head, it can drum up a lot of memories. Just -- you ever think about it, our wedding?
Cara: I used to think about it every hour on the hour. But I got past it, you know, like you did.
Amanda: Glad you're awake.
Cara: I just had to apologize to Jake.
Jake: You don't need to apologize for anything. You didn't do anything.
Cara: You don't need to fight my battles for me, Jake.
Tad: No. Actually, that's what I'm here for.
Kendall: I can't wait to see you.
Ricky: I'm looking forward to it.
Kendall: Me, too.
Griffin: Don't make a promise you can't keep.
Kendall: You're the one who's out there on the street with a bunch of drug dealers, ok, so don't lecture me about going to be with Ricky.
Griffin: I'm doing it for the same reason -- you want to nail Torres for justice. Listen, I have to go.
Griffin: What? What?
Kendall: This is -- I know it's silly, but it's for luck.
Kendall: Yes. It's for luck.
Griffin: Finish your meal. Save my tamale.
Ricky: When we first met after the tragedy of your husband's death, you were just another job, a hit. Who would've thought that we'd be spending forever together? But we will.
