Emma: Can you tell me the surprise now, Daddy?
Emma: I know. We're gonna see Mommy, right?
Ryan: Oh, sweets, about that, we can't see Mommy. Not yet. It's still a little bit too soon.
Emma: Then what's the surprise?
Greenlee: You are going to be hanging out with me today at Fusion. You're gonna be the boss of an entire cosmetics company. How does that sound?
Newsman: To bring you the latest on this developing story, Dr. Griffin Castillo is still in the hospital following his arrest for the murder of a woman found strangled in his hotel room. The heart surgeon was stabbed in his jail cell earlier this week, now awaits trial on first-degree murder --
[Griffin turns off TV]
Tad: Nobody understands better than I do about wanting to help your brother, believe me.
Cara: Yeah, I want to help him because he's innocent!
Tad: I know that, and you know that, and I'm sure Jesse knows that, which is why I'm doing everything I possibly can to prove it.
Cara: While I sit and stare at the ceiling?
Tad: If you have to. Cara, think about it. These people set Griffin up for murder, and when that wasn't enough, they decided to take him out of the picture permanently by sticking a knife between his ribs. They're not joking. I know how determined you are and how strong you are, but you got to give me a break here, because it's my job to keep you as safe as possible.
Cara: Ok. I'm sorry. Come here. Thank you. Oh, thank you so much for caring. It means everything.
Tad: That's it?
Cara: What did you expect? I'd deck you?
Tad: Kind of.
Cara: And mess up that pretty face? Not a chance.
Tad: Where are you going, what are you doing, and what on earth are you up to?
Kendall: Where do you want to take me?
Ricky: Someplace where you can relax, stop thinking, and just chill.
Ricky: How about an island on the other side of the world? But we should probably be realistic and keep it local, so come on. I'll show you.
Kendall: Show me what?
Ricky: Another side of Ricky Torres.
Kendall: Hmm. So there's a Ricky that I don't know?
Ricky: Not well enough. Come on, let's go.
Tad: Listen to me. I gave your brother my word he was not gonna have to worry about you, and I'm gonna keep that promise.
Cara: Ok. Chain me to a bed, and he'd still worry about me.
Tad: An idea whose time is coming.
Cara: Ok, here's the deal. All right? I am grateful, so grateful, that you're concerned about me.
Tad: Just not grateful to stay out of it?
Cara: Exactly. So we can either do this together, find a way to clear my brother's name, or I will do this alone.
Tad: And what? Go on. You're on a roll. Tell me. Every dog finds a bone. If, by some miracle, you can figure out who these people are and approach them, what are you gonna say? What are you gonna do when they throw your lifeless body in the trunk of a car?
Cara: Oh, ok. So it's ok for you to go after these crazy people, but not for me, because I'm a chick? Is that what you're saying?
Tad: It's ok for me because it's my job! People pay me to do it! I gave Griffin my word.
Cara: Ok. I gave him my word, too. I said I would find these people, and I would stop them, and that's what I'm gonna do.
Tad: Ok. You're telling me that these are my choices? I can either carry you along for the ride sidesaddle, or I have to do my job with one arm tied behind my back and pray that you're not out there making the same kind of mistakes that he already has? You're really not making this very easy on me.
Cara: What guy wants easy? Hey! Don't answer that.
Tad: If -- and this is a really, really small "if" we're talking about here -- I decide to carry you along for the ride, you do realize that clearing his name is not the only thing we have to deal with. We have to watch over Kendall to make sure they don't come after her next.
Cara: Oh, Kendall? Kendall, the woman that possibly could destroy my brother's life? Because let me tell you, she's not at the top of my priority.
Tad: I don't give a damn. This is a one-time-only offer. We're gonna work one side of this thing, we're gonna work the other side, because the problems are connected. It's complicated.
Cara: Do what you need to do.
Tad: Yeah, I am. And I got a news flash for you -- so will you. And not because it's a macho thing. Ok? Not because I got the decoder ring. When you get your P.I. license, then you can be team leader.
Cara: You better shake on that. Deal.
Cara: What are you doing now?
Tad: My job. I hired this guy to watch out over Kendall. I'm checking in with him. Yeah, it's me. When? You sure? Yeah. No, I'm on my way. Thanks. Come on. We got to break.
Tad: I'll tell you on the way.
Greenlee: You get your own desk, of course, an assistant -- moi -- and the inside scoop on all of our fabulous new products.
Emma: So why are we doing this?
Greenlee: It's kind of like take your daughter to work day.
Ryan: Yeah. You've heard of that, right?
Emma: Yeah, but it's next week.
Greenlee: I was so excited, I guess I just got a jump-start on it.
Ryan: You could come here every single day for a month and still not see everything there is to be seen.
Greenlee: Think of it as a head start on your future as a cosmetics queen.
Ryan: No girls get a chance to do something like this. You should be thanking Greenlee.
Emma: So what are we gonna do?
Greenlee: I thought we would start by showing you the new ad campaign. You can tell me what you think.
Ryan: Nice! Check it out. Hey. You don't have to do this.
Greenlee: Why wouldn't I?
Ryan: It's just because on St. Barts, things were a little bit tense between you and Emma. If you're having second thoughts --
Greenlee: I'm not.
Ryan: I could take her for the day, and we could do it another time if you want.
Greenlee: Emma misses her mom, and she's taking it out on me. I'm looking at this as like a fresh start, get our family back on track.
Scott: Is that for me?
Madison: Open it.
Madison: You like?
Scott: Do I like it? I love it. Are you kidding me? You bought -- what's the occasion?
Madison: Um, ketchup. Mustard.
Scott: Ok, for your information, that is Dijon, which is French.
Madison: Ok, look, I know money is tight, but I thought it was time for an upgrade. You don't want to start your new job with stains on your tie. Today's the day you find out, right? Find out if you got it?
Scott: Yeah. Yeah, but how do you know about that?
Madison: We live in a space the size of a shoebox. There's really no keeping any secrets. So tell me about the position.
Scott: If we have no secrets, then you already know everything there is to know.
Madison: Come on. I'm dying to know.
Scott: All right. You can ask me yes-or-no questions.
Madison: Ok. Is it something that you would actually enjoy doing?
Madison: Something that requires the use of your brain?
Madison: You get an office?
Madison: Can I stop asking yes-or-no questions now?
Scott: Yes, yes, yes. Ok. It's really not a big deal, but a spot opened up as operations manager. I know, exciting. But it's not all that it's cracked up to be, but it is a pay raise. Which is very necessary, because I don't know about you, but I'm getting sick of those frozen dinners.
Madison: Ohh, I dreamt about a steak last night, with ice cream on the side.
Scott: That's a little weird.
Madison: I'm drowning now. What am I gonna do when the baby comes? I'm gonna need clothes. I'm gonna need food.
Scott: All right, listen. This job -- it's not gonna get us a penthouse, but it's gonna help. All right? And, ahem -- [Hums] One less thing for you to buy.
Madison: What did you do?
Scott: Ok, there's no gift-wrapping because it's not a holiday, and that stuff is expensive.
Madison: Like this thing wasn't? It's adorable.
Scott: Do you really like it? Because it's supposed to boost I.Q. points.
Madison: I love it. Thank you.
Scott: So tell me something. How did you know about this job?
Madison: I knew something was up with you the last week and a half. You've been doing that tapping thing.
Scott: What are you talking about?
Madison: Tapping. Tapping a pencil. Tapping your foot. Tapping your fork. It always means you're ruminating. Plus, you've been grinding your teeth in your sleep.
Scott: Why didn't you tell me I've been doing this?
Madison: Because the grinding of the teeth -- it's gonna stop after today. Who can resist you in this tie, yeah?
Scott: Well, thank you very much for the vote of confidence.
Ricky: I'll get us set up, ok?
Ricky's voice: I'm here, Kendall. It's gonna be ok, sweetheart. It's gonna be ok.
Kendall's voice: I never really noticed it. In the last page here, Zach called me "sweetheart," and he never called me that, ever. So what is it doing in this letter?
Kendall's voice: How is Ricky nosy?
Cara: He started asking questions about you and Griff. What's Griff doing for you? How is he helping you? Why is he helping you? Probably because he wanted to get rid of the competition.
Bianca: I thought he was trying too hard, like, making too much of an effort to impress people, to impress me.
Ricky: Let me show you to your blanket. Now, I know it's not a private beach, but it'll work for now. Or maybe not?
Kendall: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I know you're probably here to take my mind off of things, but I can't stop thinking about Griffin. If he really did kill Diana Holden, then who tried to kill him?
Ricky: Look, I don't know how any of that works. I'm just glad that you're safe.
Kendall: I just can't stop thinking about it. Who would do something like that? Kill a woman, plant her in Griffin's bed. Plant drugs and cash and plane tickets. The person would have to be a maniac, a sociopath. It's almost like it was a personal attack or something.
Opal: My goodness! Look who we have here! Pardon me for barging in, but I owe you a great big hug of gratitude! Do you know that you are in the presence of a living, breathing angel?
Ryan: Thank you for doing this, for not giving up.
Greenlee: I'll never give up. I love her.
Ryan: I thought we were making headway with the therapist, you know?
Greenlee: Listen, you can't expect things to change overnight. Days like this are a step in the right direction. Besides, you have to help investigate Zach's death.
Ryan: Kendall needs answers. We need to keep her safe.
Greenlee: As long as you stay safe, too. If you need anything, I'm here.
Emma: I need to tell you something.
Ryan: Oh. Ok. What is it?
Emma: It's personal.
Greenlee: I'll give you guys a minute.
Ryan: Ok. Come here. What's going on?
Emma: I have a tummy ache. I want to go home.
Ryan: You do, huh? You know what it probably is? It probably is just the breakfast that we ate, big breakfast. It'll pass, I promise. Ok? Ok? You stay here. You have fun. Ok, I love you.
Emma: Love you, too, Daddy.
Ryan: Ok. I'll be back. Stay here.
Greenlee: Bye. So what do you want to do first?
Emma: Where's the TV?
Scott: Madison? I just want to say thank you for being such a great friend.
Madison: Hey, when you get that raise, you can take me out for a steak, ice cream on the side.
Scott: Of course. Oh, Mr. Kepner. Is that --
Mr. Kepner: Yes, it is.
Scott: Oh. May I -- yeah?
Opal: And when I noticed that Lorna had stopped coming to church, I asked the reverend here to just drop by and see if she was ok. He took time out of his busy schedule to make a house call.
Ricky: It was not that big of a deal.
Opal: It was a big deal to Lorna. Are you kidding? Not only did you lift her spirits, but he got her connected with a career counselor, and she's got a new job! She is the librarian at the high school! Isn't that something?
Kendall: Yeah. Wow. You really did all of that?
Ricky: Just part of my job.
Opal: Oh, it was great, just great. So I think we got to try to sic the reverend here on your mama -- wherever she is -- see if he can talk some sense into her, huh? I'll leave you to your picnic -- it looks just lovely -- and I'll catch up with you later. Bye-bye!
Kendall: We've spent so much time together, and I feel like I don't really know you at all.
Cara: Are you sure it's the guy who stabbed Griff?
Tad: I'm not 100%, but I'd bet cash money it's a solid lead.
Cara: And what did your contact overhear?
Tad: Some bozo bragging about a job he'd just done, how easy it was to get past the cops and do a doctor.
Cara: That sounds good to me.
Tad: Yeah. Plus, he matches the description Griffin gave Jesse -- tall, about 200 pounds, sandy brown hair. What are you doing?
Cara: I know that that's him. I feel it.
Tad: You don't know what you're doing, exactly. Hopefully, I do, because this is what I do for a living. Ok? So while we're in this room, you don't do anything, you don't say anything, you don't make a move unless I tell you to. Ok? And right now I suggest that we sit down and have a nice cup of coffee. Ok?
Cara: Ok. You do realize that that is the man who tried to kill my brother, right?
Tad: I also realize he's all we got going. Look at me. Look at me, all right? Smile. If we mess this up, if we jump the gun and he disappears, then Griffin's life is gonna get really complicated. Remember that.
Cara: I have a tendency to do that -- jump the gun, prove that I can do things on my own. I just have to remember that it's actually nice having a partner. I'm about ready to explode. You can see that, right? My head is about ready to fly off into orbit.
Tad: Ok, better idea. Let's order something to eat.
Cara: I'm not hungry, Tad.
Tad: Doesn't matter. We got to look like we're here for a reason. If we don't order soon, the waitress is gonna get annoyed.
Cara: Ok. Fine. I'll have the French toast, chocolate pancakes, Belgian waffles. I don't care. Orange juice, hot chocolate, coffee, mocha. I don't care. Cappuccino --
Tad: Listen, whatever you order, make sure you can finish it. Otherwise, it looks like you're just wasting time.
Cara: Just keep talking to me, ok? Just start cracking some jokes. I don't know. Juggle? I'm going insane.
Tad: I got a better idea. You talk to me. Tell me about your day. Tell me about the hospital. Whatever you talk about, make sure you do it in even tones and smile once in a while.
Cara: Good? Like this?
Tad: We've already got 3 strikes against us when it comes to flying under the radar.
Cara: How is that?
Tad: Number one, I'm hoping this guy is as lazy as he is stupid, and he hasn't done his homework. If he has, he knows exactly who you are. Number two, there's the age difference, and number three, you're gorgeous. Every man in this room has checked you out at least once, including the killer at the next table.
Cara: All right. Keep talking. Tell me more about Tad, the spy guy.
Tad: Ok. You've already looked at that side of the room once. Don't do it again for any reason. Ok, honey?
Cara: Ok, sweetheart.
Tad: If you want to see what's going on behind you, you look in a window, you look in a mirror, or you look right there in that water glass.
Cara: Ok. What else?
Tad: I've already made a major mistake. If I had known I was gonna have you riding shotgun, I would've had a couple changes of clothes for you in the trunk of the car. Let's just hope this guy hasn't got a very active social life, because we don't know where he's gonna lead us. It could be the gym. It could be a restaurant. It could be the public library. But whatever we do from now on --
Cara: We need to blend in. Yeah. Ok, I get it. So how'd you learn all about this stuff anyway, huh? Is it because of your dad? I know he was on the opposite side of the law. Is that how?
Tad: No, no. My dad is Joe Martin. Always was, always will be.
Cara: I've only met Joe a few times, but I can tell you're a lot alike.
Tad: No. Come on, now. Joe is as close to perfect as you're ever gonna get. Me? Not so much.
Cara: Oh, no. You're gonna have to tell me all about those faults sometime, because I don't see any of them.
Scott: Mr. Kepner? Could you at least tell me why I didn't get the job?
Mr. Kepner: We thought ms. Price was a better fit.
Scott: She's not half as qualified as I am, sir -- with all due respect.
Mr. Kepner: I'm sorry.
Scott: Mr. Kepner? Could you tell me the reason why I got passed over?
Mr. Kepner: We had some concerns about your record. The position for which you applied involves a great deal of confidential information about the hospital.
Scott: Look -- ahem -- I made a mistake. Ok? I made a mistake, and I paid for it, and now I'm just trying to work very hard to get my life back on track, sir.
Mr. Kepner: That may be very true.
Scott: I need a break. That's all. That's all I'm asking for.
Mr. Kepner: You're gonna have to earn it.
Scott: Of course, sir. Just tell me what I need to do, and I will do it.
Mr. Kepner: You can start by taking these forms to Dr. Griffin Castillo, have him fill them out. Bring them back to me as soon as possible, please.
Scott: Great. I guess that's a no. Can you fill those out, please? Make it quick?
Greenlee: So that's what we call a prototype. We make changes based on the feedback we get, so you can actually help shape a Fusion product. It's pretty cool, huh? Do you have any ideas for a new product? Really? None? I'd love to hear any idea you have.
Emma: Something not ugly.
Greenlee: Hey. Remember when I was talking to you in St. Barts about how I wanted to be a family -- me, you, and Daddy?
Emma: You said it a thousand times.
Greenlee: Here's what I didn't say. I used to be just like you, really, really angry, except I was angry at my father. And I felt like I had every right to be, because I felt betrayed, just like you do. But now I'd give anything to have that time back, take back all the mean and hurtful things I said. I was so focused on hating him that I couldn't see what I was missing, a chance to spend time with someone who really, really loved me. I missed out on so much, Emma, and if you hold on to this anger, you're going to miss out, too. You could have fun. You could relax and smile and see that I really do want to make this work. Or you can hold on to this anger and shut me out and regret it forever. It's up to you.
Emma: I do want to have fun.
Greenlee: Ok. So how about we start with you telling me something that you do enjoy doing?
Emma: I like taking pictures with my new camera.
Greenlee: Oh! That's great! We have a photographer on staff. So why don't I set up some time in the studio, bring in some models, and let you shoot your own stuff? Does that sound good? Ok.
Emma: Cool. Madison, Greenlee's gonna let me go to a photo shoot.
Madison: That is so, so cool! You're gonna have so much fun!
Greenlee: Here are some pictures from some other photo shoots we've done, so you can get a sense of our style. Ok?
Madison: Fusion. Hold, please. For you. Distributors.
Greenlee: I'll be right back.
[Emma sees a picture of her mom]
Tad: Cara, come here.
Cara: Is he on to us? Is that the deal?
Tad: In case he is, he shouldn't see us freaking out, because if he does, he's out of here.
Cara: Did he just disappear into thin air?
Tad: Listen. We should cut around the other side of the park, see if we can catch up with him there.
Cara: No, I think we should split up. That way we can cover more ground.
Tad: No. This is the guy that stabbed Griffin.
Cara: No, don't argue with me! Not now, ok? This is Griffin's last chance!
Tad: All right, listen. If you see him, stop. Don't do anything. You call me immediately, ok? Take out your phone, put my name on it so all you got to do is touch the screen. Cara?
Tad: Be careful.
Ricky: Of course, you know me.
Kendall: I know all the good things that you've done. You've built houses. You've helped out at the teen center. You're on the phone with your parishioners all the time. I've just never come in contact with any of it.
Ricky: But you have. The job I'm most proud of, probably ever, is you. I know I'm not supposed to get emotionally connected in my job, that it complicates things, but your grief was so profound. And so was your strength, and it reached me in a way -- and I don't know why it did, but I'm glad that it did, because it changed me, Kendall. And I feel close to you in every way. I know I'm probably not supposed to be saying this right now.
Kendall: No, I felt close to you, too.
Ricky: Yeah, but I know you're still trying to make peace with losing Zach. The last time you talked to him, he said he'd be home for the holidays and visit with your mom and your sister and see Chief Spike in his play. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to have that be his last promise to you.
Kendall: Zach did say that to me, almost word for word. How did you know that?
Ricky: You told me about that call to Zach. Don't you remember?
Kendall: Um, no. Those were my last words to him. I've never said them to anyone out loud.
Ricky: Uh, you did. Yeah. It wasn't long after Zach's death. I came to visit. You had a little wine. You were very emotional, exhausted. And eventually you laid down and cried yourself to sleep, and I covered you with a blanket, and I took off.
Kendall: I do remember that night.
Ricky: I'm sorry. I don't mean to bring this up out of the blue and upset you.
Kendall: No, it's ok. That whole time was just a blur for me. I don't really remember much. So thank you for helping me put the pieces together and letting me confide in you.
Ryan: Hey, guys. I'm sorry to interrupt. Sandra said that you would be here.
Kendall: That's ok. Is everything all right?
Ryan: Yeah. I just wanted to give you an update.
Kendall: Ok. You don't mind, do you?
Ricky: Not at all.
Ryan: Thanks. Thanks, Revered. So you know that I'm looking into Zach's casino partners, right?
Kendall: Yes, I know. So did they murder my husband?
Ryan: Still no hard proof one way or the other, Kendall.
Kendall: There are so many questions.
Ryan: Anything specific you're talking about?
Kendall: I have my suspicions, but I don't want to send you on a wild-goose chase.
Ryan: Are you ok?
Kendall: Ryan, this whole thing was a mistake. I need to think. I need to go to our old yacht, and I need to just think. But Ricky -- he's -- I don't know. He's just so pushy about all of this.
Ryan: I can help. I can help. Reverend?
Ryan: You know that I'm looking into Zach's business partners, right, to obviously get some answers for Kendall. I was wondering if you had an hour. Maybe we could go through some research together?
Ricky: Actually, Kendall and I were in the middle of something.
Ryan: Actually, Kendall isn't feeling very well. She was gonna go rest, so I thought --
Kendall: I was gonna tell you, but I'm not feeling that great. So I'm sorry. This was so nice -- this is so nice, but I'll give you a rain check. I promise.
Kendall: Ok. I'll see you guys.
Ricky: So what kind of research do you have?
Ryan: Diana Holden. You remember? The woman that was found dead in Griffin's bed. I needed to see how deep her involvement really was.
Ricky: And where'd you get that?
Ryan: A couple of P.I.s I got working on it dug all this up. I thought maybe we could sit down, you look through it, and you tell me if anything sticks out.
Man: I don't like being followed.
Cara: I don't like people screwing with my family!
Tad: Ok. Let's call Jesse, tell him we found somebody he's gonna want to talk to.
Cara: Ok. Oh! Nice job, Tad. That's good.
Griffin: You think I did it, don't you? Killed that Diana woman?
Scott: I only know what I read in the papers. It doesn't look good.
Griffin: You're not up for jury duty anytime soon, are you?
Scott: Nope. I'm just the delivery boy.
Griffin: Then you've just given me a taste of what's ahead -- a life with nobody ever giving me the benefit of the doubt.
Greenlee: Did you like the pictures? Hey, where you going?
Emma: Stop pretending! You'll never be my mommy, never!
Greenlee: What happened?
Emma: Go away!
Greenlee: Emma, wait! Emma, no! Wait, that is dangerous! Emma, don't go in there! Emma! Oh, my God.
Madison: We'll get her out.
Greenlee: No. I got this. You go back to work. Emma, open -- push "Open Door" now.
Emma: Go away!
Greenlee: Listen, you can lock yourself in an elevator or a room, but I am always going to be here. And I am tougher and I am bigger than you. I can wait this out until -- I don't believe this.
Jesse: Not so tough now, huh? What happened?
Cara: He came after me with a knife, just like he did with Griff.
Jesse: This true?
Tad: Every word. Except she left out the part where she kicked his ass. Here's the evidence. You don't mind, do you?
Jesse: Hey, hey. Don't be stupid. There are cops everywhere, like the one you impersonated?
Man: No idea what you're talking about.
Jesse: No idea? Really? Dressing up like a cop, stabbing one of my prisoners -- not ringing a bell?
Cara: Why don't we just bring him in front of Griff, so Griff can I.D. him, and that'll prove that he's being set up.
Jesse: That's a good idea. What do you think? Let's go.
Ricky: Not sure how much help I'll be, but what do you got so far?
Ryan: Not a ton. I haven't had a chance to look all the way through this, but what I know so far is Diana Holden was the VP at a company that Zach was partnered with. She was the face of the casino business -- a very beautiful face, but mixed up in some really ugly stuff.
Ricky: Not sure what you mean.
Ryan: She passed herself off as a legitimate businesswoman, but she was mixed up with some pretty bad people, people that might've actually murdered Zach.
Ricky: Wow. That's crazy.
Ryan: And from what I can tell so far, she certainly knew how to cover her tracks. So what I'm gonna look for in here is I'm gonna look for any evidence, any proof that she was, in fact, involved in this.
Ryan: Excuse me for a second? Sorry.
[Ricky goes through the file and removes a picture of himself with Diana]
Ryan: Hold on. Emma is still in the elevator?
Greenlee: The repair guy is working on it, and I'm gonna get her out of there. You don't have to rush back over here.
Ryan: I'm on my way. I'm sorry about this. We're gonna have to pick this up another time, ok? Family emergency.
Ricky: Can I help?
Ryan: No. I got it, thank you.
Ricky: You want me to hang on to this? I can just finish going through everything.
Ryan: No. That's fine, thank you. I better hang on to it.
Ricky: Ok. See you later.
Ryan: See you.
Ricky: We both know you didn't have a headache, Kendall. So where'd you go?
Kendall: I need your help, Zach. Oh, I need your help. I am so confused right now. We were always able to solve all of our problems right here on this boat, but I don't know if I can do this one by myself. I need your help. I've got to figure out what happened to you, and I don't know where to look. I don't even know where to start. Is the answer out there somewhere, or is it right here under my nose?
Kendall: What is this? [Finds an envelope taped to the bottom of a table]
Greenlee: Why can't you get these doors open?! Could it take any longer?! Oh, finally.
Madison: Oh, hey. Are you all right?
Greenlee: Emma, Emma, this needs to end. Look at me. These games, these tricks -- it's not gonna work with me, and you could've been really hurt.
Ryan: Hey, hey, hey. Are you ok? What is going on? How did you end up in an elevator that doesn't work?
Emma: I don't know.
Ryan: Ok, we got to talk. Were you giving Greenlee a hard time?
Ryan: Don't you lie to me.
Emma: I was mad, and I wanted to get away from her.
Ryan: So you ran into an elevator that's broken, even though you know that's not safe?
Greenlee: You don't want to say a word to me right now. Trust me.
Emma: Are you mad at me, Daddy?
Ryan: I'm frustrated, mostly with myself for letting this behavior go on so long. It's going to stop, and it's going to stop today.
Jesse: Do you recognize this man?
Griffin: Yes, I do. This is the man who stuck a shiv in me. You believe me now, that I was framed? This is the proof. This is the proof that they were trying to get rid of me.
Jesse: Anything to say for yourself?
Man: Sorry, Griff, but I had to do it. I told you a long time ago if you got a problem with Diana, you better make a clean break. But you didn't listen to me. What you did to her was wrong. I couldn't just let it go.
Kendall: It says, "To my darling wife -- in the event of my untimely death." This is the same letter. This page is different. The last page -- this is a different last page. What? "I have documentation of names, financial records. They account for every dime stolen, along with a list of people who did it. This information is stored on a hard drive in our special place. If anything happens to me, I need you to find it, show it to the authorities, and prove my partners had me killed." Wait a minute. This doesn't make any sense.
Ricky: What's wrong?
Kendall: The letter just stops mid-sentence. There's a page missing.
Ricky: Are you sure?
Kendall: Yes, I'm sure. The last page is missing. There was another page. I was right. It wasn't grief. Zach was trying to warn me about you.
[Ricky shows up]
