Ricky: You have nothing to feel guilty about. All you did was tell the police the truth about Griffin.
Kendall: Yeah, and look where that got him -- a real stab in the back.
Ricky: Whatever his reasons, the man was stealing drugs and lying to you. You know what? Why don't I just take you home?
Kendall: No. Actually, Ricky, I need to see him. If my mom's disappearance had anything to do with the casino partners, and Griffin knows something, I've got to find out.
Ricky: Ok. Then I'm coming with you.
Kendall: No. I'm sorry. I would like to talk to him alone. But thank you.
Angie: "Frost covered the windowpane -- and winter's chill -- could not be far behind." Hey, I'm getting pretty good at this.
Jesse: Yeah, you are, baby. You're a quick study. You're a pro.
Angie: Jesse, Lucy's getting fussy. You want to check and see if there's anything wrong?
Jesse: I just changed her diaper. It's a brand-new diaper she's wearing.
Jesse: I know. I'm the one that can see, and I can never tell what's wrong, right?
Angie: What are you doing over there?
Jesse: Just going over these timelines of everybody that was on duty when Dr. Castillo was stabbed in his --
Angie: I think she just wants her daddy to pick her up.
Jesse: Actually, I think it's her mommy she wants.
Angie: All right. Fine. I'll get her.
Maya: Thank you. That would've been bad -- like my salary for the next 11 years bad.
Asher: Sorry to freak you out.
Maya: It wasn't you. My head is just somewhere else.
Bianca: Ok, that is every store, restaurant, hotel, and doctor on this island. Where could my mom have gone?
Marissa: Is there anything I can do?
Bianca: I wish there was. What if Kendall was right? What if something bad did happen to my mom?
Caleb: There's nothing at the office. Anything from the police?
Jack: The police are well aware of what's going on, but it's too soon to list her as a missing person.
Opal: There isn't a shred of anything in here that would give us a clue as to where she might be. Not a shred.
[Knock on door]
Jack: Yeah? Come in.
Jack: Hi, Krystal.
Krystal: I got your message, but I can see you already found Caleb.
Krystal: It is all over the news, about Erica running off. Are you ok?
Jack: I don't know. Huh. All I know is that we were supposed to be married tomorrow, and she just vanished.
Erica: What is this? Why would anybody go through the trouble to re-create my bedroom? What kind of a sick game is this? Who are you? Caviar? Fresh fruit? How would somebody know that I like that? Oh! What in the world is this? You want me to write a ransom note?
Distorted voice: No. Nothing like that. I want you to write a note to Jackson explaining why you missed the rehearsal, and why you're going to miss the wedding.
Erica: Nothing I could ever say to Jack would make him believe that I didn't want to marry him. This is a complete waste of time.
Distorted voice: We both know you're more clever than that. You can convince a man of anything if you put your mind to it.
Erica: Then maybe I can convince you to let me out of here.
Distorted voice: Heh heh heh. Right now you're going to write that letter to Jackson, and make it convincing.
Erica: All right. Fine. I'll do what I can.
Bianca: No. It's not the best time right now. All right. I will call him as soon as I can.
Marissa: That didn't sound like it was about your mom.
Bianca: It wasn't. Some Miranda Center donors aren't too happy about Griffin's arrest. Donations were pouring in because of all his plans for expansion, and now they're threatening to pull out.
Marissa: But he's not the Miranda Center, you are.
Bianca: I know. But he's become a really big part of it, and this doesn't look good. Stealing drugs? Murder? Their lawyers want to talk to our lawyers and make sure all the money is accounted for. It's just a lot of legal busy work that I can't deal with right now.
Marissa: Of course, you can't. Hey, look, I know the center's attorney. Why don't I give him a call and see if I can help them sort things out, calm down the donors?
Bianca: I can't ask you to do that. You're here on vacation.
Marissa: Bianca, your mom is missing. Anything I can do to help, give you more time to find her, I'm on board.
Bianca: Are you sure?
Marissa: Of course. You're always doing for everybody else. Let somebody do something for you for a change.
Ricky: Usually when you're paid to kill someone, it's not good to leave them alive. And you know what? Griffin Castillo is still breathing.
Man: I heard somebody coming. I had to act fast. How was I supposed to know he was gonna keep himself alive?
Ricky: You should've found a way to finish it.
Man: I'll sneak back into the hospital room --
Ricky: Shut up! You've already screwed things up enough. I was almost there, and now she's back with him at his bedside!
Man: What are you talking about?
Ricky: Nothing. I want you out of town. Now! I will find another way to deal with Castillo. Get out!
Kendall: I was worried about you. How could something like this have happened?
Griffin: It's one of the potential hazards of getting yourself thrown in jail.
Kendall: All right. Ok. I understand that you're angry. But, Griffin, you have to know I would never want you to get hurt. I would never want anything to happen to you. This wasn't something random, was it? This had something to do with the casino partners and Zach and you poking around, right?
Griffin: Wait a minute. You're supposed to be in St. Barts. Something happen to you? Did someone try to get to you, too?
Kendall: No. No, not me. My mom is missing.
Griffin: What do you mean, your mom's missing?
Kendall: She never showed up to her rehearsal dinner. Everyone else thinks that maybe she got cold feet, but I'm afraid it has something to do with this casino craziness. So, please, Griffin, if you know anything at all about this, please tell me.
Griffin: Why would I know anything about what happened to your mother?
Kendall: I'm just saying that --
Griffin: You're just saying what? I killed that woman, and now I kidnapped your mother? Why don't you just accuse me of killing Zach?
Asher: I don't want to have you wait on me, ok?
Maya: Tell that to Mrs. Wilson, who thinks I'm a poor vacuumer.
Asher: Ok. I will.
Maya: No. I was just kidding. Don't get me in trouble. She already doesn't like that you got J.R. to hire me without her approval.
Asher: Ok. I won't tell her, but on one condition. You don't mop up my messes, you don't make my bed, and you don't polish my sneakers. Deal?
Asher: All right. Let me finish cleaning this up before Mrs. Wilson catches me.
Maya: Thank you.
Maya: Chandler residence.
J.R.: Who's this? Maya?
Maya: Yes, Mr. Chandler.
J.R.: Has my ex-wife called?
Maya: No. Not that I know of.
J.R.: If she does, don't let her know that we're in town. I'm still trying to surprise her. Yeah. A.J., just -- can you calm down? No, kids -- you can't let them out of your sight for a second.
Angie: Is everything ok?
Jesse: Yeah, babe. Here. It's just work, you know?
Angie: No, I don't mean that. I mean here at home.
Jesse: Yeah. I'm telling you, it's just work, baby. I'm --
Angie: Ever since we came back from the hospital with Lucy, you've just -- I don't know -- seem distracted, like you're a million miles away.
Jesse: Really? I guess it's just a mix of things -- stress at work and a new baby at home.
Angie: That all?
Jesse: What else would it be?
Angie: I was thinking maybe you might be able to tell me. Jesse, I know you so well, and something is eating at you. I wish you'd let me help you.
Jesse: Angela, I prom --
Jesse: Hold on. Hubbard.
Brot: Hey, Chief, we may have got a hit on the guy who attacked Griffin Castillo.
Brot: Our man at the airport spotted someone waiting for a flight, matched the guy's description.
Jesse: Do not let that man get on a plane. I will be right there.
Erica: So what's the matter? You couldn't read my writing?
Distorted voice: Your note was in code, the first letter of each line spelling out, "Taken, help me."
Erica: I thought it was rather clever.
Distorted voice: Your mother, Mona, liked to do crosswords and acrostics, didn't she?
Erica: How did you know that? And how did you know what foods I like? I told you this was a ridiculous idea in the first place. I told you that Jack would never believe this!
Distorted voice: I think you're right. Jack needs to hear your voice.
Erica: A phone call?
Distorted voice: Don't think I'm going to hand you a cell phone. I'll make the call from out here. You can talk over the speaker we're chatting over, but listen up. There will be no hints or clues or anything to make Jack suspicious.
Erica: Or what? You'll kill me?
Distorted voice: Of course not.
Distorted voice: Her little sister is there, too, taking a nap, I think. They are so precious. I honestly would not want to see those sweet little girls hurt.
Bianca: Thank you so much. I am gonna go get a car, see if I can drive myself around the island --
Marissa: A.J. What --
Marissa: Ha! Yeah, I'm surprised. What are you doing here? J.R.
A.J.: Will you go down the waterslide with me?
J.R.: I'll tell you what, buddy. How about I take you to that lifeguard over there, and you can play in the shallow end where we can see you while I talk to your mom for a minute.
A.J.: Ok. Then will you come swim with me?
J.R.: I'll be right back. Surprise.
Marissa: I really did not need that.
Bianca: Do you want me to stay?
Marissa: No. Go find your mom. I'll be ok.
Bianca: Miranda and Gaby are in the room with a hotel sitter if you need someone to watch A.J. Good luck.
J.R.: This place really agrees with you. You look fantastic.
Marissa: What are you doing here?
J.R.: I almost didn't come, but I'm really glad that I did.
Kendall: Of course, I don't think that. I don't know what to think, ok? My mother is missing. Someone's trying to kill you. And then this Diana Holden woman turns out to have been working for Zach's casino partners, and then she ends up dead in your room, ok? I don't understand any of what's happening right now!
Griffin: No, I bet you don't, but it sounds to me like you've decided one thing -- I'm in the middle of all of it.
Kendall: I've never accused you of anything.
Griffin: You didn't have to. You told the cops that I took the drugs from the hospital, and I can still hear and see all the doubts coming from you.
Kendall: Griffin, I'm sorry --
Griffin: And it's not too far a reach to link me to Zach's plane crash. Now you come in here wondering if I had something to do with the disappearance of your mother? What the hell is wrong with you? What kind of a monster do you think that I am?
Kendall: I don't think you're a monster.
Griffin: Is that the best you got?
Griffin: You're supposed to say, "I don't believe that you did any of those other things either." But you can't say that, can you, because you still think that I might have something to do with all of it.
Kendall: You did lie to me. I'm sorry I even came here.
Griffin: Yeah, I'm sorry, too. I'm sorry I ever got personally involved.
Kendall: You saved my life. So for that, I will always be grateful.
Griffin: You know why I was stealing those drugs. I was trying to help people, Kendall. That's what I do. And now that could all be gone, all those lives that could've been saved.
Kendall: All I want was answers about my husband.
Griffin: I know, and I'm fresh out. I don't have any more. But I do have one piece of advice for you, Kendall. You need to be very, very careful.
Kendall: I don't understand you at all. First, you're angry with me and you blame me, and then you want to protect me in the same breath. You're making all of this even more complicated than it is.
Griffin: What can I tell you? I'm a complicated guy.
Kendall: Ricky, can you just please go for right now?
Ricky: I knew it was a bad idea to come here.
Kendall: Please. Can you please just go? Griffin and I are not done yet.
Griffin: Yeah, we are. We're done.
J.R.: Are you angry with me?
Marissa: No. I'm a little mad at myself maybe.
J.R.: At yourself?
Marissa: Never mind.
J.R.: Because of the kiss?
Marissa: No. For running away. I swore I wouldn't do that anymore.
J.R.: Is that why you came down here? To run away from me?
Marissa: No. I don't know. Maybe a little bit. I don't know. I got confused.
J.R.: Because of the kiss.
Marissa: Yeah. It freaked me out a little bit, yeah. And because of some other things going on in my head.
J.R.: Like that little voice saying, "Kiss him again. Kiss him again."
Marissa: No. That voice I can handle. Bianca has helped me realize that I should be honest with my feelings.
A.J.: Come on, Daddy, put on your bathing suit. I want to go down the slide with you and Mommy.
Marissa: All right. Fine. Come on.
A.J.: This is so cool. It's like the family trips that we used to take.
Erica: What do you want me to say?
Distorted voice: Tell Jackson that you're sorry you ran out like you did, but you got confused. You need at least a couple of weeks to think things through.
Erica: But he'll never buy that. If you know me as well as you seem to, then you know that I'm the one who pressed Jack to move the wedding date up more than once.
Distorted voice: Convince him.
Erica: How? He knows that I would never miss the wedding, never miss the rehearsal.
Distorted voice: You're Erica Kane. You'll find a way to make him leave you.
Erica: Why are you doing this? Just ask for the ransom money and be done with it.
Distorted voice: Oh, look at Miranda. Isn't she adorable?
Erica: All right. Make the call.
Distorted voice: And remember, I can hear both sides of the conversation. Please just do the right thing.
Jack: Jackson Montgomery.
Erica: Jack, it's me.
Jack: Erica. Where are you? Are you all right? Erica? Erica, you still there?
Erica: I'm so sorry, Jack. I'm so sorry to have to put you through all this.
Jack: Look, all that matters right now is that you're all right. You are all right, aren't you?
Erica: Yes, I'm fine.
Jack: That's great. I've been very worried, so has everyone else. What happened?
Erica: All of a sudden it all just became so overwhelming.
Jack: Erica, where are you?
Erica: Doesn't matter. I just needed to be by myself for a while. That's all, Jack. Please tell everyone how sorry I am.
Jack: No, something else is bothering you. I can hear it in your voice. What is it?
Erica: I just -- all of a sudden, Jack, I just got so confused, confused because everything just happened so fast.
Jack: I'm sorry. I don't understand. You were the one that wanted to get married right away.
Erica: I know, I know. Just please, Jack, please don't make this any more difficult than it is. Please, I can't marry you right now. The pressure. The pressure from you about Caleb, and then from Caleb about you.
Jack: I'm sorry, sweetheart. I still don't get it. Opal told me that you were so convinced that you wanted to marry me.
Erica: Please, Jack, please! It's just --
Jack: It's just what? What are you telling me? That you need more time?
Erica: Yes. That's it, Jack. I need time. But right now -- I just can't marry you right now, Jack! I'm so sorry!
Jack: Erica, is it Caleb? Erica, you -- look, you love me. Nothing will ever convince me that you don't.
Erica: Jack, please, just let it go. Just let it go.
Asher: Did you hear about Erica Kane disappearing?
Maya: No. I didn't know you were a fan.
Asher: I'm not, exactly, but Caleb is. I'm gonna go find him.
Maya: Who's Caleb?
Asher: I guess you could call him my dad.
Brot: Sorry to make you get all the way down there for a false alarm.
Jesse: It was worth a shot. I cannot believe I let this guy slip by me in my own station house. I'm slipping, man. I'm not on my game.
Brot: Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. Maybe you just need to get some sleep.
Jesse: I'm not just talking about here. I'm talking about home, too.
Brot: What do you mean?
Jesse: Angela -- she's starting to pick up on something not being right. I'm trying my best to hide it, and I'm having trouble being --
Brot: With what?
Jesse: I'm having trouble being with the little baby, this kid, holding the kid. All I think about is Ellie.
Brot: Ellie. The baby you lost.
Jesse: What am I doing? Angela thinks this is our baby. I need to get my stuff together, right? Ohh. Most of all, I got to start being Daddy to that poor little baby.
Brot: You mean your little baby.
Griffin: Reverend Torres, you can take her home.
Kendall: Griffin, I --
Griffin: You do what you have to do to stay safe. I'm gonna clear my name.
Ricky: Come on, Kendall, I'll take you home.
Griffin: Call Ryan. You tell him what I told you. And be careful.
Ricky: Don't worry. I'm gonna take good care of her.
Distorted voice: Don't worry. Miranda and Gabrielle are safe.
Erica: Why did you make me do this? Jack doesn't believe that I need more time. Jack thinks that I have feelings for Caleb!
Distorted voice: And you don't?
Erica: No! I don't love Caleb! I love Jack! I've always loved Jack! Now I've broken his heart.
Jesse: Glad she's all right, at least.
Jack: I still need to find her. I'm not going to just give up.
Jesse: Jackson, I wish I could help you. But right now --
Jack: Look, how about phone records? She called my cell phone. Certainly we can trace to find out where that call came from?
Jesse: That depends on a number of things. But without the suspicion of a crime, Jackson, there's nothing I can do. You know that.
Jack: Yeah. Thanks anyway, Jesse.
Caleb: Jack? I don't know if this will help, but she was dead set on you. I gave it my best shot, but when she didn't show up at the airport, it was clear to me that there was nothing I could say or do that was gonna make her change her mind.
Jack: So what the hell's going on, huh? I need to let everybody know she's all right.
Angie: Oh, Krystal, I can tell that these are just so beautiful. Thank you.
Krystal: You're welcome. I'm just a sucker for baby clothes. I pass a store window, and I can't help myself.
Angie: You're upset about something, aren't you?
Krystal: I'm just worried about Jackson. He's convinced himself that something horrible has happened to Erica.
Angie: And you think Erica's just got cold feet.
Krystal: I think Erica is playing both sides against the middle. Why settle for the love and attention of one man when you can have two?
Angie: Caleb and you have gotten to be friends, haven't you?
Krystal: Hmm. Don't you know Erica is just using Caleb to toy with Jackson like a yo-yo, and I've just got to sit back and watch while she breaks Jack's heart all over again.
Angie: You really like him, don't you?
Krystal: Yeah. He's a great guy to work for.
Angie: No, but it's a little more than that.
Krystal: No. No, we're just friends. Shoot. I guess I've already told Tad. Why am I dancing around this with you?
Krystal: I like him. I do. I like Jack. I like him a lot, but talk about hitting your head against a brick wall. What could be more futile than falling for a guy who's in love with Erica Kane? And I'm sorry. I am so sorry, Angie. I don't mean to be talking about myself. What's going on with you? How are you?
Angie: It's ok. Well, how am I? It's Jesse. I -- I don't know, Krystal. It's just so damn frustrating not being able to look him in the eyes. I used to be able to read him so well that way. Now I have to listen for the tone in his voice and decipher things by how he reacts or how he behaves.
Krystal: What's he doing that's gotten you deciphering?
Angie: One minute he's talking about quitting his job, and the next he can't wait to get out of here. I know that he has a lot going on at work, but it's more than that.
Griffin: Chief Hubbard. Always a pleasure.
Jesse: How you feeling today?
Griffin: Like I got stabbed in the spleen. How you doing?
Jesse: I'm fine, thank you. I got a report this afternoon.
Griffin: Really? An evaluation of the crack security at your police station?
Jesse: No. Actually, I had a pretty aggressive A.D.A. doing some snooping around. She thinks that maybe your injuries aren't so serious after all.
Griffin: Tell that to my gut.
Jesse: The A.D.A. is pretty insistent, and I'm just following up.
Griffin: You trying to take some of the heat off of you? Because I got a hell of a lawsuit against your police department for what happened to me.
Jesse: Any lawsuit is gonna have to wait. The grand jury met on your case this afternoon.
Kendall: It seems my mother has left town to do a little more soul searching about getting married again.
Ricky: So she's ok?
Ricky: Oh, that's a relief. So it had nothing to do with the casinos?
Ricky: You don't seem relieved.
Kendall: I am. Of course, I am. I'm thinking about Griffin. I all but accused him of helping kidnap my mom today. I believed in him so much. I trusted him. He saved me. He practically willed me back to life. He trusted me with his deepest secret, and now I don't know if he's the man that I thought he was. I don't know who he is. I mean, can I trust him or can I not trust him? I don't know who I can trust. I don't know if I can trust anybody anymore!
Ricky: It's ok.
J.R.: You know what? Why don't you get Miranda and Gaby so we can all have some fun in the sun.
Marissa: Yeah. We could all have dinner together.
A.J.: Mom, come here! Watch this!
Marissa: I'm coming! I'll be right back.
Bianca: You sure you want us hanging around?
J.R.: I don't mind.
Bianca: I didn't want to interrupt before the -- things seemed kind of close between you two.
J.R.: That's no problem. As a matter of fact, I wanted to thank you.
Bianca: For what?
J.R.: You seem to have a positive influence on Marissa lately. Did you put in a good word for me?
Bianca: Uh, I'm Switzerland here. I haven't taken sides about you and Marissa at all.
J.R.: Well, you're doing something good for her. That's all that matters.
[Knock on door]
Jack: Come in.
Krystal: I heard the news. She's ok. You?
Jack: Me? I don't know, Krystal. I just don't know.
Asher: Hey, so what happened to Erica?
Caleb: She's ok.
Asher: That's great, right?
Caleb: Yeah. Were you worried about me?
Asher: I told you to go down there in the first place. So if stuff blew up because of me --
Caleb: Nothing blew up.
Opal: Except a wedding that the two of you were intent on stopping dead in its tracks. I swear, both of you are definitely descendants of my Palmer right now.
Asher: So what's your next move?
Caleb: No next move. I have a business to run.
Asher: But if Erica called it off with this Jackson guy --
Opal: Excuse me. Just let me set the record straight on this, ok? I have known Erica for a long time. I know when she's fibbing and when she is being sincere. And when she told me that the only man in the world she wanted to marry was Jackson, that was the truth. The more I think about this, the less I like it.
Erica: Why are you doing this?! Why aren't you even telling them that you have me?! If it's money you want, just send a ransom note! It's not the money you're after, is it?
Griffin: Ok. If this was good news from the grand jury, you wouldn't be dancing around it with the bull from Jake's diagnosis. So let me have it.
Jesse: Forensics were irrefutable. You're being charged with murder.
Ricky: I'm here, Kendall. It's gonna be ok, sweetheart. It's gonna be ok. You don't look ok at all.
Kendall: Oh. Um, I will be. I just -- I just need to be alone right now. I appreciate everything that you've done. I just need to be alone. I hope you understand.
Ricky: Of course. I'll call you tomorrow, ok?
Kendall: Ok. Ok.
Kendall's voice: Zach called me "sweetheart." He never called me that, ever. So what is it doing in this letter? I think my husband was murdered. Yes, I'm sure. The last page is missing. You don't forget words like "stolen" and "threat" and "theft."
Ricky: You know what? Ian was throwing stuff around. Maybe he took it upstairs by mistake.
Kendall: I'm gonna go check.
Ricky: And I'll look down here.
Kendall: What's this? I found it. I found it. It's a little crumpled up, but, hey -- oh, my God. Ricky.
