Jack: Our first wedding -- that is to say, our last wedding -- was very, very special.

Erica: Yes, it was.

Jack: So I'm thinking maybe this time around we do it a little more casual, you know? Maybe just have a brunch, huh? Keep it local?

Erica: Maybe just a barbecue at a park bench?

Jack: Yes. Caleb! Join us.

Caleb: Is this a bad time?

Jack: Not at all. Please.

Erica: Please sit down. Any news from the D.A.?

Caleb: Not a peep.

Erica: That's good, isn't it? That means Liza isn't so anxious to press charges against me.

Caleb: Maybe. But I don't like waiting for the other side to dictate events.

Jack: I couldn't agree with you more. What do you got in mind?

Caleb: I think we let Erica be Erica.

Amanda: This elf is done shopping. So you seeing J.R. today?

Annie: I don't know. I'm still the secret girlfriend being stashed away in a closet until this custody suit is over. Not exactly how I wanted to spend my Christmas.

Amanda: I'm sorry.

Annie: It's ok. I'm not gonna let it get me down. I'm going to enjoy a festive glass of wine with my friend. Cheers.

Amanda: Cheers.

[J.R. and Marissa enter loaded down with Christmas presents]

Amanda: Well. Looks like the festivities just got a little more complicated.

Liza: You have no right of access to that chart or the patient.

Greenlee: Deciding who does or does not see David is up to his new advocate.

Liza: As of this morning, his new advocate is me.

Greenlee: You're kidding.

Liza: No. And I'm sorry if you don't like it, but --

Ryan: Well, we don't like it, actually. Obviously, you had yourself appointed so you could be the first person by his side when he wakes up in order to use him to nail Erica.

Kendall: Going away indefinitely sounds like a long time. How long? A month?

Madison: As long as it takes for me to figure out what I'm gonna do next.

Kendall: You can't figure that out here?

Madison: No.

Kendall: Because of Ryan.

Madison: Yeah. Ryan and a lot more.

Jack: So, Caleb, what you're saying, if I understand you correctly, is that we use Erica to beat Liza at the PR game.

Erica: Which means what, exactly?

Caleb: Up until now, you have been uncharacteristically quiet about what's happened.

Jack: What Caleb means is this is allowing the D.A. to believe they're operating from a position of strength.

Caleb: We hammer home the mistake that Liza made in putting a woman on trial for the death of a man who is still alive.

Erica: And I'm the hammer?

Jack: Exactly. We show that Liza is using your celebrity to climb up the career ladder. We impugn her integrity and take some of the punch out of these charges.

Caleb: Right now the truth and sympathy are on your side. Kendall lost her husband, the kids lost their father, and you acted in a way to prevent further loss and tragedy.

Jack: Absolutely.

Erica: Let's come up with something different.

Jack: Whoa. Hold on. I happen to think that Caleb's intuition is very good on this. You're not a criminal. You and Kendall -- you're victims. We're all victims of David Hayward. Let's get ahead in this thing, see if we can use some of this momentum to our advantage.

Erica: No. Really, I can't drag my family through this. No. I won't exploit my family.

Jack: Sweetheart, it's not exploitation. These are facts.

Erica: This is the end of this discussion. This discussion is over. Kendall and the rest of my family are off-limits.

Kendall: You ever put together a train track?

Madison: How hard can it be? Ok. It could take a while. Yeah.

Kendall: You want to try? Thank you. Ha ha!

Madison: Who knew you had to be an engineer to be a mom?

Kendall: Yeah. And a psychic and a storyteller and a leaper of tall buildings -- only now I have to do it by myself. Don't you think leaving Pine Valley is a bit much?

Madison: I have a lot of decisions to make. I just feel like getting out of here and clearing my head might be the only way that I can make the right ones.

Kendall: You getting out of here to get away from Ryan and Greenlee?

Madison: I see him everywhere I go and her -- or them together, so in love that it hurts just looking at them. It's like staring into the sun.

Kendall: Don't you think leaving is kind of extreme?

Madison: I've made so many mistakes. Not this time.

Kendall: What kind of mistakes could you make?

[Doorbell rings]

Kendall: Hold that thought.

Rev. Torres: Hey.

Kendall: Hi.

Rev. Torres: Oh. Is this a bad time?

Kendall: No. Come in. Come in. Madison, this is Reverend Torres. He wants me to call him "Ricky." I still feel a little weird about that.

Madison: It's nice to meet you.

Rev. Torres: Nice to meet you. I didn't mean to bother you guys, but you left me a message, and I was in the neighborhood.

Kendall: Actually, I just wanted to tell you that Spike was crazy about the game. I wanted to thank you for the tickets. He has not stopped talking about it.

Rev. Torres: I'm so glad to hear that. Whoa. Looks like you guys have a little railroad emergency here, huh?

Kendall: No. We've got it all under control.

Madison: Oh, no problem.

Kendall: All right. Ok. We're a little in over our heads with it.

Rev. Torres: Yeah?

Kendall: Yeah.

Rev. Torres: Lucky for you, I am a pro. I just put together a set for the church. It was about 3 times the size of this thing.

Kendall: Hallelujah! Ohh! So, I'm sorry. Was that --

Rev. Torres: I'm kidding. It's cool. Don't worry about it.

Madison: Listen, I should go.

Kendall: Wait. You're not gonna --

Madison: Not yet.

Kendall: Ok. If it means anything, I would love for you to stick around. And I can't make any promises, but I'll do my best to see if I could help you land a great job.

Madison: Thanks.

Kendall: So you'll think about it?

Madison: I'll think about it.

Kendall: Good. Come on. I'll get your stuff for you.

Madison: Thank you. Got it.

Liza: The judge in charge of the advocacy request knew that I handled David's legal issues before he disappeared, so he asked me to fill in.

Ryan: Really? So you didn't actually lobby for this, huh?

Liza: No. This is just the legal system at work. Sorry. It's not as conniving as you'd love to think it is.

Ryan: I don't like it.

Liza: Maybe I don't like it either. But you made the request and the judge is honoring it.

Greenlee: I'd like a few minutes alone with him.

Liza: He's still your husband. I'll be back.

Ryan: I don't care what excuses she gives. I don't like this.

Greenlee: At least she's someone that knows him.

Ryan: She's someone that helped him blackmail you.

Greenlee: I need to end this.

Ryan: Ok. You want me to stay in here with you just in case he starts --

Greenlee: No. It's ok. I'll see you later?

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, you will.

Greenlee: Liza will be making your medical decisions from now on. I have every reason to hate you, but I don't. I'd be dead if it wasn't for you. And whether you meant it or not, you gave me my second chance with Ryan. I'm happy. I miss Zach. I'll never stop missing him, but I'm happy. So thank you. Maybe one day you'll wake up, turn your life around, and be as happy as I am. I hope so.

Marissa: Thank you.

Amanda: They look friendly. I guess it's working.

Annie: J.R. should not have to try this hard to get her to drop the custody fight.

J.R.: Cheers.

Marissa: Cheers.

Annie: I got to tell you I'm getting really sick of waiting. Ho-ho-ho.

Marissa: [Laughs] Oh, yeah. Wait till he sees the fort and swing set.

J.R.: Yeah, he's gonna go crazy.

Marissa: Are you serious about assembling them yourself? I'm pretty sure it does involve power tools.

J.R.: I was hoping we could make this as a project with A.J. as the supervisor -- if you don't mind wielding a drill.

Marissa: You want me to help?

J.R.: Yeah. I thought it would be a great project for us to do together.

Marissa: All right. Maybe I will fire up that drill.

J.R.: Annie's here. I got to take care of something. It has to do with Chandler. I'll be right back. Hey. I'm glad I caught you. Wow. Looks like you bought out the stores. Heh heh heh! I'm sorry to interrupt, but about that PR meeting -- you think we could reschedule that for later today?

Annie: I'll take care of it as soon as I'm done here.

J.R.: Great. Great. Because I have a few ideas on how to streamline some things.

Annie: I'm looking forward to hearing them.

J.R.: All right. I'll catch you later.

Amanda: Wow. Does he know how to play it smooth?

J.R.: Sorry about that. It was some business.

Annie: Yeah. Real smooth.

Liza: You all done?

Greenlee: He's all yours.

Liza: So I guess it's just you and me now, huh? You know what this is? This is all the information that you need to know about Erica shooting you in the back. And I look at it all day, and I read these statements over and over and over again, and I just can't help but wonder. Did you really try to kill Ryan, or was this just Erica's opportunity to get revenge? You know, you're a son of a bitch, but you don't deserve this.

Kendall: Aww! That was good. Oh, I love it! This is great. How is it that getting a little toy to work is even more amazing than any business deal I have ever pulled off?

Rev. Torres: It's kids toys, you know? One of God's little miracles.

Kendall: I guess you're kind of busy on Christmas, huh, when I have more complicated toys to put together?

Rev. Torres: Just a little busy. Yeah. So how you feeling heading into the holidays? I know you miss Zach, but are you able to move ahead?

Kendall: "Move ahead"?

Rev. Torres: I've seen people frozen by tragedy -- obsessed with the event, the sudden loss, why did it happen.

Kendall: I have my good days and bad days.

Rev. Torres: Call me on either. I mean that.

Kendall: Thank you.

Rev. Torres: You're welcome. I'm gonna take off, all right? And I will let myself out.

Kendall: Ok. Thank you so much. Really.

Rev. Torres: My pleasure.

Ryan: Reverend. Hey.

Rev. Torres: Mr. Lavery.

Ryan: How are you? You were in there spending some time with Kendall?

Rev. Torres: Yeah. Just checking in.

Ryan: Let me ask you something. How do you think she's doing?

Rev. Torres: I think that she's gonna need everyone she knows to help her keep moving on.

Madison: Hey. You busy?

Frankie: Not for you. How you doing?

Madison: Good. Really. I finally made a decision.

Frankie: Oh, snap. Come on. Talk to me. What are you gonna do?

Madison: I'm gonna find a job somewhere else.

Frankie: Somewhere else other than Fusion?

Madison: Somewhere else other than Pine Valley.

Frankie: That's it?

Madison: It's a start.

Frankie: The baby? Any decision there?

Madison: That's why I'm leaving. There's no way I can make the right decision, the best decision if I stay here.

Frankie: You got friends. You can't find someone like me just anywhere.

Madison: I know. But I run into Ryan and Greenlee all the time here, you know? And every time I do, it just makes me more confused.

Frankie: You shouldn't do this alone, Madison, and you're not gonna be able to hide your pregnancy much longer. You can run from Ryan, but you can't run away from your baby.

Erica: You two can keep on looking at me like that. I'm not gonna change my answer.

Jack: Ok. Ok. So family is off the table, but we can still use the Hayward angle.

Erica: No. No. You said, "Let Erica be Erica." Erica dealing with Liza one-on-one -- that's the best way of dealing with her.

Caleb: No. You have to stay as far away from her as possible.

Jack: What do you say I talk to her? Since I'm your lawyer, it would be official. Maybe I can reach her on a more personal level.

Caleb: She's just gonna look into your pretty blue eyes and cave in?

Jack: One never knows. No. Caleb, I'm just hoping that I can find out whether she's gonna bring charges or not.

Erica: If anyone can do it, Jack can.

Jack: Thank you, sweetheart.

Caleb: I suppose that's something.

Jack: It's worth a try. I'm out of here.

Erica: Ok.

Caleb: I'm doing the best I can to be your lawyer.

Erica: I know you are, and I really appreciate it, but I can't put Kendall through anything more. She's been through enough. I can't put --

Caleb: Let me ask you something. How is your being indicted gonna help her?

Erica: You could push this and get nowhere, or you can order something and keep me company.

Caleb: So you can criticize my table manners?

Erica: You have table manners?

[Phone rings]

Erica: Excuse me. Yes? Erica Kane. Doug. How are you?

Caleb: Doug from the S.E.C.?

Erica: Yes, Doug, go on. Really? You're sure? Doug, that's wonderful. Thank you so much. Congratulations. The final decision is gonna be announced tomorrow, but it's a done deal. The S.E.C. has voided the Chandler purchase of Cortlandt Electronics. Palmer's company once again belongs to its rightful owner -- you.

Annie: He bought her a Christmas ornament. Did I tell you that?

Amanda: Because he wants something from her.

Annie: He didn't buy me a Christmas ornament. All I got were diamond earrings.

Amanda: Oh, poor you.

Annie: I'm just saying, don't you think a woman should get a diamond ring before she gets diamond earrings?

Amanda: Wait. You want J.R. to propose already?

Annie: I don't know. It wouldn't be that crazy.

Amanda: Listen, just keep reminding yourself that he's doing this for A.J., for you, for your future.

Annie: You're right. He wants to be with me. He doesn't want to be with her. So there's no reason to be upset.

Amanda: There isn't.

Annie: Or paranoid. Ohh. He's sharing his pasta with her?!

[Phone chimes]

Amanda: Well. That must be some text.

Annie: Um, this has been such an awesome day, so much fun, but I have to go.

Amanda: What? You haven't even finished.

Annie: Oh. So much fun. Call you. Plan soon.

Marissa: So I guess you probably have to get back to work.

J.R.: No. No. I have time.

[Phone rings]

Marissa: Do you mind?

J.R.: Go ahead.

Marissa: I was hoping you'd call. Really? I was thinking the exact same thing. Ok. Ok. I'll see you soon. Heh heh heh!

J.R.: Well. You seem happy. Who was that? Santa Claus?

Marissa: No.

J.R.: Who was it?

Marissa: You don't get to ask me those kind of questions anymore.

Kendall: All right already!

Ryan: Wow. Expecting somebody else?

Kendall: I'm fixing something.

Ryan: I see. Can I come in?

Kendall: Yeah. Come in.

Ryan: So you know how to use that thing?

Kendall: Yes. Of course, I do. It's fine. Ok? I have everything under control here. It was a little wobbly, but everything is perfect now. See? I just got to -- look.

Ryan: Oh, wow! Ok. That's -- yeah, that's not good.

Kendall: Why are you here?

Ryan: Well, I -- it's a nice day out. I thought I'd just kind of take Spike out, play in the snow a little bit, have a good time.

Kendall: He's taking a nap.

Ryan: I'll wait.

Kendall: I just put him down.

Ryan: Can I help with that? Because it looks like you might a little bit of help.

Kendall: Yes. All right. Fine.

Ryan: First of all, that's a hammer, right, and that's not gonna be very helpful. So if you have a wrench, like an Allen key? Allen wrench?

Kendall: I have one somewhere around here.

Ryan: Good. This one? Yeah, that'll be good.

Kendall: Here.

Ryan: This is gonna be tricky. I'm not gonna lie to you. Do you think it'll ever stop?

Kendall: What?

Ryan: The anger that you have towards us?

Kendall: Ryan, I know you and Greenlee didn't want Zach's plane to crash, but it did. And the fact is he went there to help the two of you, so every time I see the two of you together, I just can't deal with it.

Ryan: I understand that. We don't mean to hurt you.

Kendall: But you do. It's not like I can pull a Madison and leave town the second I feel the pain.

Caleb: Cortlandt is mine again? J.R. is out?

Erica: And not only that, the S.E.C. is giving Chandler major smackdowns. They are giving him fines and sanctions, and by the time they're finished, J.R. is gonna be lucky to have an office. Caleb, you fought for Palmer's legacy, and you won!

Caleb: We won. We won.

Erica: We won.

Caleb: You and I, we did it. We did it. We really did it! We won! We won!

[Greenlee watches from the sidelines wondering what's going on]

Frankie: I know how hard this has been for you, but you're gonna make the right decision.

Madison: If there even is one. Sometimes I convince myself that this isn't even that big of a deal, right? Women face this every day. But then I think about where I am and that there's a life that could be counting on me, when I can barely --

Frankie: Ok. It's gonna be ok. All right?

[Phone chimes]

Frankie: Oh, bad timing.

Madison: It's fine. You got to go.

Frankie: I'll be back as soon as I can.

Madison: Yeah.
