Jake: Gummi bear?

Greenlee: No, thanks. Um. Is David out of surgery?

Jake: Yeah.

Greenlee: How is he?

Jake: He's critical, but he's stable. He's got some major complications.

Greenlee: None of this seems real.

Jake: Well, it is real, and he's alive. You're not really safe here.

Greenlee: He's lying unconscious in a hospital bed. What's he gonna do to me?

Jake: We thought he was dead and buried, but he ended up on Ryan's roof with a gun. Clearly, the guy will do anything to hold onto you, so you really should go.

Greenlee: I want to see him.

Bianca: Hey, did you get some sleep?

Kendall: Yeah, a little bit. Took a sleeping pill. I still can't sleep in our bed.

Bianca: That's ok.

Kendall: I had a dream about Zach last night. I didn't want to wake up. Where are the boys?

Bianca: Spike and Miranda are at school, and Gabby and Ian are with Sandra. I made you some tea, and I'll go get you some fruit, ok?

Kendall: No, I don't want to eat. I'm not hungry. Honestly. I'm just -- I just want to zone out. I don't want to talk. I don't want to think. I just want to veg out.

Bianca: You don't want to do that.

Kendall: Why not? Oh, Binks, what is going on?

Bianca: David was shot last night. He came back for Greenlee, and Ryan and him got into a fight.

Kendall: Is Ryan ok?

Bianca: Yeah. Ryan's fine, so's Greenlee.

Kendall: How did David escape?

Bianca: He must have paid off a guard or something.

Kendall: Is David dead?

Bianca: He's in bad shape, but there is something else you should know. The shooter was Mom.

Erica: I can't stay here any longer. I am worried sick about Kendall.

Jack: I just got a text from Bianca a little while ago. Kendall's still asleep.

Erica: That's good, but she's gonna wake up to this. This! She just lost her husband. I don't know how much more she can take. And why is Jesse insisting on keeping me here?

Jack: I don't know. I'm gonna put a stop to it right now.

Ryan: You know what, Jack, this is ridiculous. Erica has done nothing wrong.

Jack: Yeah, I've had it, too. Jess, really?

Jesse: Look, this is no party for me either, Jackson, but I really need to understand the facts here.

Jack: Well, the facts are we've been here all night. Erica has told you everything she knows repeatedly.

Ryan: I'm just gonna give it to you one last time, ok, Jesse? I was on my roof. Hayward pulls a gun on me. I knocked the gun out of his hand. We fight, we struggle, I end up on the ledge, Hayward's hands around my neck. Erica walks out, and she does what she's gotta do. The chances are, she probably saved my life.

Jesse: You can go.

Jack: I'll be in touch.

Ryan: I'm gonna go to the hospital and check on Madison. I want you to know that I will do whatever I have to do to help Erica, ok?

Jack: Appreciate it.

Ryan: Promise.

Jack: All right, all right. Jesse, sorry, but Erica has been cooperative. There's nothing more to do here. So we're leaving, all right? All right. What, are you following me in here? I told you, we're done, Jesse.

Jesse: And I still need to know, Erica, when you picked up the gun, did you give Hayward any kind of warning, or did you just shoot him?

Jack: Don't answer that. What is wrong with you? You feel that you have to beat somebody up, because you guys let Hayward escape? You're not gonna beat this woman up. She's done.

Jesse: She's done when I say she's done.

Jack: No, she's done right now.

Erica: Ok, enough. Just let me go so I can be with my daughter. Either let me go or arrest me.

Jesse: You're under arrest.

Madison: I love waking up next to you. Oh. Oh, that was the drugs talking. I didn't mean --

Ryan: I know, I know. It's ok. I got you some flowers.

Madison: Thank you.

Ryan: How you feeling?

Madison: My arm is killing me. What happened?

Ryan: You were shot.

Madison: Shot? By who?

Ryan: By the man who will not die.

Jake: If he wakes up, the first thing he's gonna do is come looking for you.

Greenlee: Jake, please.

Jake: You should go away. You should get divorced. You should get a restraining order, move to Bora Bora, do whatever you have to do, but you should get away from here.

Greenlee: Thank you for your concern, but I need to do this. Why, David? I've seen the good in you. You saved my life. You have such an incredible gift. You have so much potential, and this is what you choose -- to cause so much pain to so many people. I know I hurt you, and I will always be sorry for that, but -- how could you do it?

Bianca: Mom thought that David might push Ryan off the roof, so she picked up the gun. Kendall, are you getting any of this?

Kendall: Does Spike know about this?

Bianca: No. I don't think Ryan would talk to him without speaking to you first.

Kendall: Right. I'm sure you're right.

Bianca: All the details haven't hit the news yet, but they will today, so --

Kendall: I gotta go get dressed.

Bianca: Where are you going?

Kendall: I want to go to the police station, and I want to make sure Mom is ok.

Bianca: Uncle Jack is with her. I can go.

Kendall: Well, then no. Then we'll both go.

Bianca: Kendall. Are you sure you're up for this?

Kendall: Yeah.

Caleb: Excuse me.

Griffin: Yeah.

Caleb: Are you the doctor who's treating David Hayward?

Griffin: Yeah, I am. Who are you?

Caleb: Cortlandt. Caleb Cortlandt.

Griffin: And you like it shaken, not stirred.

Caleb: How's he doing?

Griffin: He's not out of the woods yet, but he's hanging in there. You a friend of his?

Caleb: No, no.

Griffin: Then why are you asking me about his condition?

Caleb: Curious. Want to know if he's gonna make it.

Griffin: He's stable, but there's probably gonna be more complications as the night goes -- it was great talking to you, too.

Erica: Jesse, you're wasting precious time that I should be with my daughter. Ok, you've arrested me, so I will go now, and I will bail myself out.

Jesse: No.

Jack: Erica, he has no grounds for this arrest.

Jesse: I still don't have enough answers.

Jack: You have all the answers you need, Jesse. You're just not listening. Erica shot at Hayward, because he was trying to throw Ryan off the roof. You've got Ryan corroborating that. Ryan felt he was in imminent, mortal danger. What Erica was in this case -- she was a Good Samaritan.

Jesse: If there was no history.

Jack: Aww --

Jesse: Yeah, clear cut. But Hayward almost killed Erica in a plane crash.

Jack: I know.

Jesse: And a man that hates Hayward the most is the man backing up your story. So you can see why I need to cover all my bases.

Jack: And you can see Erica was perfectly justified in what she did. What is wrong with you?

Jesse: Well, I'm sorry, Jack. I can't just take your say-so.

Liza: Excuse me. I need a word with you.

Jack: I'm a little busy here, Liza, unless, of course, you've come to let me know that the D.A.'s office is not gonna press charges.

Liza: I need to talk with you now in private.

Jack: I'll just be a minute. Don't you say a word to my client while I'm out of this room. Don't. What?

Liza: I got a faxed copy of the letter. Jack, I'm sorry.

Jack: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Liza: You didn't receive a letter from the State Supreme Court Disciplinary Board?

Jack: Liza, I haven't been home. What was in the letter?

Liza: They're suspending your license pending an investigation.

Jack: What investigation is that?

Liza: Jack, your assault on David yesterday.

Jack: You've gotta be kidding me. I barely touched the guy.

Liza: Jack, come on. I was there.

Jack: Liza, I knew he wasn't done with Greenlee. I knew he was coming after her. I felt it, and I was right!

Liza: Jack, you have every right to be angry, but you had no business being anywhere near David. You used your credentials to gain access, and then you assault the man while he's in custody? You were still on probation from your previous suspension. So the Disciplinary Board decided to act immediately.

Jack: I have to get back to my client.

Liza: No, you can't. Without a license, you are not allowed to represent Erica.

Erica: Everything all right?

Jack: I have a little legal business I have to take care of.

Erica: Now?

Jack: Yeah. Don't worry. It won't take long. Are you really gonna go through with this, Jesse?

Jesse: Jackson, it's my job.

Jack: Then do it right. No perp walk, no press conference --

Jesse: Discreet. I get it.

Jack: I want your personal assurance that Erica will be treated with the utmost respect.

Jesse: You've got it. I will process her myself. You can stay right here for now.

Jack: Can you just give us a minute? Will you be ok?

Erica: Of course, I will. I've got you on my side.

Ryan: Since David's plan to frame me for murder didn't really pan out, he came back for round two. I was up on my roof. He pulled a gun on me. We struggled over the gun, a shot was fired, and you were the unlucky person to take the hit.

Madison: Well, maybe I'm lucky, huh? A few inches over, I would have been toast.

Ryan: See, that's unbelievable to me. You took a bullet, and you're still looking at the bright side of things.

Madison: Well, I'm an optimist.

Ryan: Yes, you are. You definitely are. I always liked that about you.

Madison: I knew it was him.

Ryan: Who?

Madison: I was on my way home to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade on DVR. Yeah, yeah. I recorded it. Please refrain from comment.

Ryan: There's nothing cooler than a giant inflated Mickey Mouse.

Madison: Exactly. I was driving past your place when I saw David slipping inside -- at least, I thought I did. I told myself, it had to be a mistake, but I couldn't take a chance. So I turned around, and I pulled over. I was almost at the entrance to your building, and I heard this loud pop. Then I felt this intense burning in my arm. The rest -- it's kind of a blur, actually.

Ryan: You were coming to warn me?

Madison: I know how dangerous David is.

Ryan: So after everything, you were trying to protect me. In doing so, you almost got yourself killed.

Greenlee: You're going to spend most of your life behind bars, and I'm supposed to believe it's because of me -- because you love me so much. I wish you could have started over and been a better man. Now I know that's impossible. Truth is, we'd all be better off if you died.

Griffin: You really believe that?

Caleb: Hey.

Jack: Hi.

Caleb: I couldn't reach anybody. Jesse keep you at the station all night?

Jack: Caleb, Erica's been arrested for attempted murder.

Caleb: What? It'll never stick.

Jack: I can't help her. She needs you.

Ryan: I'm so sorry. If you hadn't have been --

Madison: I'll be fine. I'll be fine. That scar will make for great party conversation.

Jake: How we doing in here?

Ryan: Good, good. I could use a coffee, but I'm pretty good. Not funny. She didn't think it was very funny either. You rest, all right? I'll come in and check on you later, ok?

Jake: These numbers look great. Just want to check your blood pressure, then I want to check your heart, ok?

Greenlee: That was a private conversation.

Griffin: Not as private as you think. Studies show that most coma patients can actually hear what's going on around them. With all the craziness going on last night, we weren't properly introduced. I'm Griffin Castillo. I'm the guy who pulled the bullet out of your husband's chest.

Greenlee: Nice to meet you. Now, can you get out?

Griffin: Sure, right after I check on your husband.

Greenlee: Don't call him that. He's not my husband. Technically he is, but not for much longer.

Griffin: His surgery was pretty hardcore, in case you're wondering.

Greenlee: What do you want, a medal?

Griffin: I stepped in at this hospital. I did something that few surgeons in this country could do to save your husband's life. It'd be a real shame to see that I did it all in vain.

Greenlee: I hate to break it to you, but your old mentor has tortured half the people in this town, especially those people I care about.

Griffin: You mean yourself.

Greenlee: Forget it. You wouldn't understand.

Griffin: You and Dr. Hayward weren't exactly a match made in heaven.

Greenlee: No, not exactly.

Griffin: Mrs. Hayward.

Greenlee: Don't call me that. It's Greenlee Smythe.

Griffin: Ok. Ms. Smythe, you're still David's closest relative. If something comes up, I'm gonna need you to be available.

Greenlee: I gave my approval.

Griffin: For the surgery. There's gonna be other decisions to be made. He's unconscious. Being his next of kin, I need you to make those decisions.

Greenlee: I don't want to be responsible for him. I don't want anything to do with him ever again.

Griffin: According to the law, that's not an option. Not now. I'm beat.

Jake: Getting that slug out of him took some skill, I guess.

Griffin: I had a great teacher.

Jake: Shame, 'cause the bastard didn't really deserve it.

Griffin: Deserve it?

Jake: Saving him was a waste of time.

Griffin: I was under the impression that doctors don't get to choose who they save.

Bianca: Mom, are you sure you're all right?

Erica: Honey, I'm fine. Kendall, you shouldn't be here.

Kendall: Neither should you.

Erica: After all you've been through, you don't need any more stress.

Kendall: I want to help.

Erica: You can help by going home now.

Kendall: No, Mom. This isn't right. I'm sorry. I know that you couldn't have shot David for any other reason that you were saving Ryan.

Erica: You mean that?

Kendall: Yes. I really mean that.

Erica: Then that's all I need to hear. Bianca, honey, would you please take your sister home now?

Kendall: I'm not going anywhere.

Erica: Kendall, Jack is doing everything he can to fix this.

Bianca: In the meantime, let's get you home and get you in a nice hot bath.

Erica: Oh, honey, I don't think that's possible.

Bianca: Why not?

Erica: Because I'm under arrest.

Kendall: What?

Bianca: That is insane.

Kendall: You know what, I'm going to talk to Jesse.

Erica: No, no. I am going to be fine. I want you to go home. I want you to go home right now. I want you to hug the boys, and I want you to take care of yourself, ok? I'm gonna get through this. I'm gonna be fine 'cause I have the best lawyer there is.

Jack: I shouldn't have let Hayward get to me, but after everything he's done to my family -- almost killing Erica, almost sticking Greenlee behind bars for the rest of her life --

Caleb: Jack, it's understandable. You lost it.

Jack: Well, the State Disciplinary Board was not so understanding. They revoked my license.

Caleb: It's temporary. Want to sit down?

Jack: Thanks. He was so smug, sitting there with that condescending look on his face, talking about my daughter like she was property, like he owned her. But I still shouldn't have roughed him up. It was a mistake.

Caleb: Yeah, but I bet it felt good.

Jack: I'd do it again tomorrow.

Caleb: In my opinion, you showed restraint. I would have put his head through the wall.

Jack: The problem there would be that neither one of us could be at Erica's bail hearing this afternoon.

Caleb: Sorry?

Jack: Caleb, while I'm sidelined, I need somebody to represent her. I'd like it to be you.

Caleb: I don't know.

Jack: Look, I need to get Erica home safe. She needs someone that she can trust.

Caleb: Celebrity cases are not my thing.

Jack: What do you want me to do here, beg you?

Caleb: No, no. You really want me to do this?

Jack: Yes. You saved Erica's life. Neither one of us is going to forget that. If this goes south and gets complicated, you're the one we want, Caleb.

Jack: Hey.

Erica: Hi. Caleb. What -- why is Caleb here?

Jack: We have a small problem.

Erica: What kind of problem?

Jack: I've been prevented temporarily from representing you, so --

Erica: I don't understand.

Jack: It was nothing, really. It'll clear itself up, but not in time for your bail hearing, so Caleb's agreed to represent you.

Erica: Are you ok with this?

Caleb: I've never had the chance to represent such a famous celebrity.

Erica: Well, thank you. I very much appreciate this. I'm sure you can understand that I really do need to be with my daughter Kendall.

Caleb: I know. I'm gonna light a fire under the D.A., get you out of here as soon as possible. Ok?

Erica: Ok. Thank you.

Jack: Thanks, Caleb.

Erica: Wow. This just gets more and more insane.

Jack: Look, I'll get my license back. It just kills me that I can't defend you.

Erica: You have a lifetime to defend me.

Jack: I do hope we spend our time a different way than that. I'm gonna be there for you today.

Erica: And I want you to be. But you know these charges against me are so flimsy. Any lawyer could get me off.

Jack: I think you deserve better than just any lawyer. I want to make sure you're in the best hands possible.

Erica: Well, I am. I am, and I always will be. Jack, I don't quite understand. Why Caleb? Why not some practicing criminal attorney?

Jack: At one time, Caleb was one of the best, but the real reason? One time he said to me that a lawyer should be as passionate about keeping his client out of jail as the client. If I can't be there for you, I know Caleb won't let you down.

Amanda: What is that?

Griffin: It's an energy drink. My own recipe.

Amanda: It looks like mud.

Griffin: It's egg yolk, soy milk, bananas, and a dash of Tabasco.

Amanda: Gross!

Griffin: But it works.

Amanda: I guess you do need your energy since you were up all night saving David Hayward.

Griffin: It was a long surgery, that's for sure.

Amanda: It must have been tough. Your mentor as your patient? Talk about pressure, right?

Griffin: Yeah, and I might have felt some if I knew everyone was rooting against me. But I've got this competitive thing, so --

Amanda: Yeah, not many people like David.

Griffin: I got that, especially your husband. He admitted to me he wished the guy died on the hospital bed.

Amanda: Oh, he only half meant that. Like he only half meant it when he punched you in the face.

Griffin: It felt like he meant that.

Amanda: You did steal his wife, all right? What did you want him to do?

Griffin: Just so we're clear, I am out of the wife-stealing business.

Amanda: That's good to hear. Not that you could if you tried.

Griffin: It's good to know.

Amanda: Can I ask you something?

Griffin: Is it about Jake's ex Cara?

Amanda: No, it is not. It is about something far more important. Your name. Griffin Castillo. Castillo is Hispanic, right?

Griffin: It's Mexican.

Amanda: And Griffin?

Griffin: Is not.

Amanda: Right, not unless I missed something.

Griffin: My mother named me after a man named Griffin. Dr. Griffin. She didn't know his first name.

Amanda: And he was?

Griffin: He was the man who brought me into the world. He was an American who was helping out our village, and he saved my mother's life. Mine, too, I guess.

Amanda: I guess you were destined to be a doctor. It's like Jake. It is in his blood. When you're meant for something, you just know.

Griffin: Yeah. You do.

Amanda: That's how I feel about Jake and my son. They were meant to be in my life. And no matter what happened before with me or with Jake, I know that even if he --

Griffin: Amanda, let it go.

Amanda: What?

Griffin: Cara. She's lead sneakers. Let it go.

Jake: Your blood pressure is great. How's the pain?

Madison: The arm I can deal with.

Jake: Why, does it hurt someplace else?

Madison: Don't worry. There's nothing you could put in an I.V. bag that would help.

Jake: Ah, the classic case of cardiac fracture, ladies and gentlemen.

Madison: Guess you don't need an X-ray to see that my heart's been fractured, huh? Did they invent a cast for that yet? A crutch? Anything? I'll take anything you got.

Jake: It's called time. That's what heals the heart. I know that's probably the lamest prescription I'll give all day, but it actually works. Just takes a while.

Madison: You wake up one day, and it's just all completely gone?

Greenlee: Hi.

Ryan: Hi.

Greenlee: I can't let you out of my sight for a second.

Ryan: The thought of Hayward anywhere near you just --

Greenlee: With the state he's in, I think I could take him.

Ryan: You're not gonna have to, trust me.

Greenlee: Just don't get on any roofs with him again?

Ryan: If the roof is all that stands between you and him, I'm gonna do whatever I have --

Greenlee: Stop. If I'd lost you today --

Ryan: You didn't, and you're not going to. Nothing's gonna change between us, ok?

Greenlee: All right. Thank God for Erica. Did those words actually just come out of my mouth?

Ryan: It's a beautiful mouth.

Greenlee: No, I'm serious. Today Erica Kane is my hero.

[Kendall sadly watches Ryan and Greenlee kissing]

Marissa: Sorry it took so long.

Caleb: That's ok. How's he doing?

Marissa: No change.

Caleb: And you?

Marissa: I am confused, conflicted, hurt. But I can't say that I'm surprised. From the minute David walked into my life, I have felt this way.

Caleb: You met him late in the game, huh?

Marissa: Yeah, we lost so many years together. I kept thinking that that would make him try harder to be a good person, change his life around. I can't believe he actually offered to help me hold onto my son. Does he even realize how crushed A.J. was by his death, how confusing this is all gonna be for him? I had finally accepted that David was gone forever, and now he's back, fighting to hold onto the life he pretended to lose. None of it makes sense.

Erica: Caleb, good morning. Marissa.

Marissa: Good morning.

Erica: Caleb, thank you so much again for doing this.

Caleb: Don't thank me yet. I haven't done this in a while.

Erica: I'm sure that you'll be just fine. Jack has every confidence.

Jack: Well, shall we?

Erica: Yeah. Thanks.

Amanda: What does "lead sneakers" mean?

Griffin: They're heavy. They weigh you down.

Amanda: What makes you think that I'm harping on this Cara thing? Ok, yes, it bothers me that my husband flipped out on his ex's whatever it is that you are when you walked in the hospital.

Griffin: I'm not saying it doesn't make sense.

Amanda: What are you saying?

Griffin: When I was in training, every grade, every surgical evaluation meant the world to me. Dr. Hayward was my God. I was facing the biggest surgical eval of my career. I studied for weeks. I figured out every question they could ask me, every scenario I could face in the O.R. But when I woke up that morning, my water and electricity had been turned off, my car wouldn't start, and I got a letter from the dean saying that there was a problem with my school loans.

Amanda: That's awful.

Griffin: Everything that could go wrong did. Everything that someone could do to ruin my morning was happening.

Amanda: Are you saying that someone did this to you?

Griffin: Dr. Hayward did it to me.

Amanda: What? Why?

Griffin: Because I was operating that morning, and he wanted to see if I could do it while my life was falling apart.

Amanda: I would say that seems cruel, but it's David.

Griffin: It was the greatest thing anyone ever did for me.

Amanda: How is that possible?

Griffin: A robot could do surgery. Focus is nothing if there's nothing else.

Amanda: But there's always something else.

Griffin: Exactly. Car won't start, bills to pay. I got a cute nurse giving me the eye. Patient was mentor. Doesn't matter. There is only here. That's what he said when I walked into the O.R. that morning. If you really want this, there's only here. Everything else is --

Amanda: Lead sneakers.

Griffin: You have what you want. What else is there?

Amanda: I just want to know if she --

Griffin: I'm gonna go back to the hospital. I'm gonna see if I can find some med school kids to mess with.

Jake: I have been there, and it sucks eggs. It does. There's no question about it. When my wife walked out of my life, I was lost. I didn't even know what continent I was on. I didn't even know what hemisphere I was in. Are you kidding? But after some time, I met Amanda, and I slowly figured it all out. It was the western hemisphere. What? It was North America. That's where I was. Then it was Pine Valley. I figured out where I was supposed to be and who I was supposed to be with. Same exact thing will happen for you, I promise.

Madison: I know what hemisphere I'm in. I guess that's a start, huh?

Jake: And I think you're lucky because it wasn't such a bad breakup, right?

Madison: Lucky? I didn't realize that.

Jake: It can just mean that you and Ryan can be friends. That's not such a horrible deal.

Madison: How soon can I get out of here? I just want to go home.

Greenlee: Hey. How are you?

Kendall: I'm just great.

Greenlee: I was just telling Ryan how grateful I am to your mother for saving his life.

Kendall: Lot of saving going on lately.

Ryan: Have you seen your mom?

Kendall: She was arrested.

Ryan: She was arrested?

Kendall: She's at her bail hearing right now.

Greenlee: She did an incredible thing. How could she be in trouble?

Kendall: Why don't you tell me?

Amanda: So, how was it working with Griffin in the O.R.

Jake: It was fine, I guess. Why do you ask?

Amanda: I'm just wondering.

Griffin: Hey, Cara. It's me. It's good to hear your voice, too.

Judge: Quiet, please.

[Rapping gavel]

Judge: We're here for the bail hearing in the case of the Commonwealth vs. Erica Kane. The defense may proceed.

[Caleb takes a drink of water then clears his throat]

Judge: Any time you're ready.

Caleb: Thank you. Thank you, your honor. Your honor, uh -- Miss Kane is a lot of things, but she's not a runner. This woman has never run from anything or anyone in her life. Mr. Hayward, on the other hand, seems to be a born runner. He escaped police custody with the intention of confronting Mr. Lavery and evidently to attack him on the roof of his apartment, which he did during this altercation. Mr. Hayward produced a gun, the gun fell to the ground; and had Miss Kane not appeared at that moment, Mr. Lavery would not be with us today. Your honor, this is a woman who has displayed spontaneous courage. For her to be accused of a crime is a crime in itself. She is not a runner. She stands her ground. She is here. She is not going anywhere. I therefore request that she be released on her own recognizance.

Judge: Miss Colby?

Liza: We have no problem with that, your honor.

Judge: Very well. The defendant is hereby released on her own recognizance pending further judicial action. This hearing is now concluded.

[Judge raps gavel]

Erica: Thank you, Caleb. You did a wonderful job.

Jack: Absolutely. Well done, Counselor.

Caleb: Just like riding a bike.

Kendall: How's David?

Greenlee: He's still unconscious.

Ryan: I gotta figure out what's going on with Erica, ok. Are you ok? Are you here for a checkup?

Kendall: I need to see David.

Ryan: Kendall, that's not a good idea.

Kendall: I didn't ask you.

Greenlee: Go check on Erica.

Ryan: Are you sure?

Greenlee: Yeah, see you later. Go ahead. David's critical. The doctors don't expect him to wake up.

[Kendall rushes to see David]
