[Colby sits by Asher's hospital bed]
Caleb: Doctor, is there any update?
Doctor: His vital signs are good.
Caleb: He's still unconscious.
Doctor: We've been sedating him throughout the night just as a precaution.
Caleb: Against what?
Doctor: Well, he was agitated last night. We didn't want him to re-injure himself. You know, when we wakes up, he's gonna be in a lot of pain. If we knew a little more about him, his medical history, allergies, that sort of thing.
Caleb: You mean from a family member?
Doctor: Exactly. Or if we had his medical card, that would give us a lot of answers. He came in without a wallet. Any specific health information at this point would be valuable. If you don't mind my asking, is this young man a friend of yours?
Caleb: I'll get back to you. Thank you.
Erica: Oh, I was waiting for your call. Well, I'm almost afraid to ask.
Jack: It's over.
Erica: Over? What do you mean?
Jack: Liza blew my defense strategy right out of the water.
Erica: Jack, what happened?
Jack: She saw Greenlee and Ryan kissing in the courthouse. Destroyed everything I was trying to set up about her not loving him anymore.
Erica: Ok. Were you able to see how the jury was responding?
Jack: And I'll never forget it, Erica. They looked like they were watching a train wreck. The last thing they heard before the judge sent them out to deliberate. This is so bad, I don't know what --
Erica: Ok. Well, I'm dropping everything, and I'm taking you out for a nice quiet dinner.
Jack: No, honey. No.
Erica: Well, I mean, you have to take a break.
Jack: What I have to do is start working on Greenlee's appeal. That's what I have to do.
Erica: All right. Well, then I'll bring dinner in. We'll have a beautiful dinner. We'll light the fire.
Jack: Listen. No. You want to help -- and I appreciate it like crazy -- but what I really need right now --
Erica: You really need some time alone.
Jack: Yeah. I wouldn't be very good company anyway, so. Yeah.
Erica: Well, if you change your mind --
Jack: You're number one on my speed dial.
Erica: Well, I'd better be. Ok.
Jack: I love you so much.
Erica: I know.
Jack: You know. Ok, good. Oh, listen, I forgot to ask you. That mess with the kid that fell down the stairs and Caleb, what ever happened there?
Erica: It's a work in progress.
Colby: Asher? Asher. Thank God, Asher.
Asher: What --
Colby: It's ok. It's ok.
Asher: Where --
Colby: You had an accident. But you're gonna be ok.
Colby: Yeah, it's me -- Colby. I'm right here.
Colby: Yeah. Can you hear me?
J.R.: Is he awake?
Colby: Yeah. He just woke up. I'm going to get the doctor. Will you stay with him?
J.R.: Yeah. It's ok, pal.
Asher: Where -- where am I?
J.R.: You're in the hospital. Three guesses to who put you here.
Asher's voice: So what's so different about this kid you hardly know? Got a guilty conscience over something?
Caleb's voice: What is your problem with me? Leave me --
Asher's voice: What is your problem? Leave me the hell alone!
Greenlee: You knew it. You knew something was off with Pearson's testimony.
Ryan: And now we have the bank records to prove David paid him off before he died.
Greenlee: All to make it look like he murdered him. You know, I wrote those notes to make everybody think he killed himself, but he actually did.
Ryan: Because he knew he couldn't get you back. So in one final act of revenge --
Greenlee: He sets you up for his murder.
Ryan: He goaded me to fight with him. And then he had the drugs, the empty vial, planted in my jacket. And he knew that Pearson would seal the deal once he hit the witness stand.
Greenlee: Yeah. But David didn't count on me finding the drugs first and getting caught.
Ryan: Jackson's already made his case. And even if we could prove all of this, there's nothing that we can do now that the jury's out.
Greenlee: Maybe if my father talks to the judge.
Ryan: We don't have enough evidence. Not yet. That's why we got to find Pearson. Like, right now, we got to get him to talk because you and I knowing the truth, that doesn't mean anything.
Greenlee: Unless Pearson can connect the dots.
Ryan: And then we take that evidence, and we take it to the court. And no matter what the jury decided, you and I are off the hook, and they have to dismiss the case.
Greenlee: And this nightmare will finally be over. It's going to be over, right? Ryan, you didn't answer my question. If we get Pearson to tell the truth, we all go home, right?
Ryan: Yes. Finally.
Greenlee: I still can't believe David would go this far. I know he hated you.
Ryan: And loved you.
Greenlee: Is that love? I don't know. I didn't want him to die. I never would have wanted that. I just feel so responsible for everything.
Ryan: Hey, he was who he was long before you met him.
Greenlee: Yes. But look at what I drove him to.
Ryan: This is not on you, ok? It's not. I mean, any man that would swallow poison to keep me from you, that's not a sane man.
Greenlee: I should have seen this coming.
Ryan: Maybe. But right now, we got to focus on finding Pearson.
Greenlee: That's not going to be so easy. David paid him enough money, so that he could go just about anywhere.
Ryan: Well, I've got some ideas to narrow it down, ok? I will track him down. Hey, you ok?
Greenlee: So this could take a while.
Ryan: Yeah. It is possible the jury comes in before I find him.
Greenlee: So if they find me guilty, you won't be here when they send me to prison.
Doctor: His ribs are bruised, as is one of his lungs. And it looks like he re-injured an old knee injury.
Asher: Certainly feels that way.
Doctor: You're a lucky man. Next time, hold the railing. I'm going to give some instructions to the nurse.
J.R.: Well, the good news is you're going to be ok. The bad news is you still work for me.
Asher: Hey. Hey. I still can't remember what happened. I took A.J. to your office like you asked. And --
J.R.: You got a surprise visitor.
Asher: Visitor? Oh. He showed up.
J.R.: Yeah. Caleb. And look where you wound up.
Colby: J.R., don't do this.
J.R.: I'm just telling him the truth.
Colby: No. You are making this about yourself and your war with Caleb. Stop it.
J.R.: All I wanted was a night with my son. I wanted to hang out with him on Halloween. I didn't realize that I was putting Asher in the middle of a collision course with his lunatic father. And I am sorry how this ended up.
Asher: How exactly did it end up? What happened?
Colby: Well, you got into a fight with Caleb.
Asher: A fight -- yeah. We were at the top of the stairs.
Colby: Yeah. And you fell.
Asher: I got that.
J.R.: It's not exactly clear that you fell down the stairs.
Asher: Are you trying to say that Caleb pushed me?
Colby: No. Nobody knows that, all right? You were on top of the stairs with Caleb, and then Erica showed up.
Asher: She was there, too?
Colby: Yeah. Right after it happened.
Asher: What? C-Colby? What?
Colby: She knows about you. And now so does Caleb. Caleb knows you're his son.
Caleb: What are you doing here?
Erica: Looking for you.
Caleb: I'm looking for the kid's wallet. The doctor needs some kind of identification.
Erica: Caleb, it's not your fault.
Caleb: You don't know what's my fault.
Erica: Sonia? Is that what you're thinking about? You're blaming yourself for his mother's death?
Caleb: How could I have not seen -- how could have I not known that he was my kid?
Erica: You haven't seen him since he was born.
Caleb: For weeks, the kid has been in my face. He's been provoking me. He's been showing up again and again just waiting for me to see it. And all the time, he's hiding it all inside just waiting for the time that he can hurt me the most.
Asher: I didn't want it to be like that. Yeah, I didn't want him to find out that I was his son like that.
Colby: You wanted to tell him yourself.
Asher: On my terms. You know, just like how he left me, when he wanted to. You know. It was my turn. It was my turn.
Colby: Asher, you need to take it easy, ok?
Asher: No, he's the one that's taking it easy. Can't have something, you just throw it away. I should have hit him harder when I had the chance.
Colby: Asher, you know what? I'm going to get the doctor.
Asher: Bastard got off light.
J.R.: All right. You need to back off a little bit. The only thing you're gonna get out of this is another sedative that'll knock you out.
Asher: They put me on drugs?
J.R.: Well, you tore your knee up pretty bad.
Colby: Which means you're not allowed to be doing any moving.
Asher: Fine. Ok. So I was here overnight, alone?
J.R.: Colby was with you.
Asher: All night?
Colby: I wanted to make sure you were ok.
Asher: Thanks. Who else showed up?
J.R.: Well, I checked on you once or twice.
Asher: I'm talking about him. Where has he been since he's known that I'm his son?
J.R.: Take a look around, Asher. Do you see Caleb hanging around?
Erica: What are you going to do?
Caleb: I'm gonna find the kid's wallet and take it to the hospital.
Erica: No. You know what I mean. What are you gonna do about convincing Asher that he has no reason to hate you?
Caleb: I don't know.
Erica: You thought that you were doing the right thing when you gave him to that other family.
Caleb: I don't know what I was thinking. I was scared. I ran away. That's the truth.
Erica: That was 20 years ago. What about today? About now?
Caleb: What about now?
Erica: Asher is lying in the hospital. And, yes, he probably hates you at the moment. So are you gonna let that just fester inside you, or are you gonna do something about it?
Caleb: You should have been a lawyer.
Erica: I need you on your game, Caleb. You're my partner. We have a business to get back. It's our promise to Palmer.
Caleb: I haven't forgotten.
Erica: Well, maybe he wanted you to solve this problem, too.
Caleb: The kid?
Erica: Your son. He does have a name, you know. Asher. By the way, he looks a lot like you.
J.R.: I'm sorry.
Asher: For what?
J.R.: You're supposed to be taking it easy. And here I am getting you all riled up about Caleb again.
Asher: It doesn't matter.
J.R.: Still, I didn't mean for you to wake up to this.
Asher: No different from any other morning that I wake up.
Colby: Maybe now that everything is in the open, maybe you and Caleb can work things out.
Asher: Really? Are you serious? The son of a bitch killed my mom. You know, that's something you can't really fix.
Colby: I didn't mean it like that. I was just --
Asher: It's never gonna happen.
J.R.: You know what I think? I think we forget about Caleb and concentrate on getting you out of here. That sound like a plan?
Asher: Works for me.
J.R.: You know, I never really got a chance to thank you properly. What you did for me, helping me get A.J. I owe you big for that and I won't forget it. I have a meeting I have to get to. Are you good to stay?
Colby: Yeah. I'll stay.
Colby: So if Caleb --
Asher: I don't want to talk about Caleb. Please. I want to talk about you and why you stayed with me last night.
Erica: Why don't you bring Asher's wallet back to him?
Caleb: I will. But he's still unconscious.
Erica: Yes, but he is going to wake up. And then you'll be here with him.
Caleb: You know, I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to bail on our partnership and head for the hills.
Erica: I don't do that.
Caleb: I know.
[Cell phone rings]
Erica: Excuse me. It's my office. I have to take this.
J.R.: Well, if it isn't the proud papa himself.
Ryan: Hey, I don't want you to feel like I'm deserting you.
Greenlee: Of course, I don't.
Ryan: If I could send somebody else to track down Pearson, I would. I would in a heartbeat, but it's got to be me. He hates me. Nobody can shake him up the way that I can.
Greenlee: But what if I --
Ryan: You? Nothing. No, no. You don't do anything now that the jury's out, ok? Do you want to be a fugitive? Look, who would be more motivated to find this guy than me?
Greenlee: I know, but --
Ryan: Just trust me, ok? I'm gonna find out what Pearson's deal was with David, and I'm gonna track him down, and I'm not gonna stop at anything to get him to talk. Do you understand what I'm saying?
Greenlee: I do. I understand. And you should go. The sooner the better. I'll be fine here just knowing you're out there.
[Knock on door]
Jack: Your door was open.
Ryan: Yeah. That's fine. So how long do you think the jury's gonna be out?
Jack: You never know with juries. It could be an hour, it could be a week.
Ryan: All right. Well, I got to get ready to go.
Jack: Where are you going, Ryan?
Ryan: Greenlee will fill you in, ok? I'll call you.
Greenlee: Be careful.
Ryan: I will be. And, Jack, will you do everything you got to do to keep her safe --
Greenlee: Just go.
Ryan: I'm gonna be back soon. Here. Let me help you. When I am back, we're gonna do something fun like go for a drink or go for a walk in the park. Gonna take the longest nap in the history of naps.
Greenlee: I'll be waiting.
Ryan: Ok, bye.
Caleb: Well, the vultures are still circling.
J.R.: Where else would I be when a valued employee has sustained serious injury? I just want to make sure that Asher pulls through.
Caleb: You don't give a damn about him.
J.R.: See, that's funny. I hardly know the kid, and I already have a better relationship than his own father.
Caleb: Leave the boy alone, Junior.
J.R.: That's odd, considering you haven't been there for him at all since birth.
Caleb: Well, I'm here now. And I'll be damned if I'm gonna stand by and watch you continue manipulating him.
J.R.: Isn't that your territory, Counselor? Putting a wedge between a father and his son. Besides, I didn't have to do a damn thing to turn Asher against you. You set that table all by yourself.
Erica: Well, I see there's no spilled blood yet. Caleb, has Asher regained consciousness?
J.R.: No. He hasn't. Maybe he doesn't want to wake up after everything that's happened.
Erica: That's enough, J.R.
J.R.: His father abandons him and now almost kills him. Great parenting.
Colby: Well, you saved my life when you first got to Pine Valley. The least I can do is, like, stay here and hang out.
Asher: So you figured, hey, what the hell? Let's go babysit the vegetable.
Colby: You are such a smart ass.
Asher: Well, I try.
Colby: So I'm gonna go get some food. Do you want anything?
Asher: No. I'm good.
Colby: See, now I know you're really sick because you have never turned down a free meal before.
Asher: Now who's the smart ass?
Colby: Um, all right. I'll be right back, ok?
Erica: You probably just should have walked away from J.R.
Caleb: Yeah. Like you would have walked away.
Erica: Yeah. Probably not.
Caleb: Probably not. I'm gonna get Cortlandt back.
Erica: Yes. And in the meantime while we work to get Cortlandt Electronics back, that call I just got was from the S.E.C. They are reviewing our case. And according to my contact, there is plenty of evidence in our favor voiding the sale of Cortlandt Electronics to Chandler.
Caleb: That evidence isn't good enough.
Erica: But we're on our way. Work things out with Asher when he wakes up.
Caleb: We have to get back to the S.E.C. to see if we can't force their hand. Asher's still, he's still unconscious. I'm gonna drop this off at the nurses' station. Then you and I are gonna get to work.
Erica: That's a lot easier than facing your son.
Caleb: I heard that.
Greenlee: Well, it's over. Tad's discovered Pearson's connection to David, and the good guys are gonna win.
Jack: That's all good stuff. New evidence, those bank statements. We'll need that when we file --
Greenlee: When we file what? You were going to say, "When we file an appeal."
Jack: Yes, I was.
Greenlee: You think I'm gonna lose, don't you?
Jack: I think it's a distinct possibility, yes.
Greenlee: I let you down. And before you say anything, let me finish. You didn't want me to come off as the woman who killed her husband because she was in love with another man. And I didn't do that. My love for Ryan was all over my face. And so as much as I tried, I couldn't help you win.
Jack: Now, you listen to me. Ryan is just about to get aboard a plane to do whatever he can to save you. And, yes, I would have loved to have been the man that rescued you and protected you. And maybe I still will be. I'm surely not gonna give up. But if I have to step aside and let anybody else be that hero, I am glad it's Ryan. And I think you are, too.
Ryan: His name is Nick Pearson.
Bartender: I remember the guy.
Ryan: I think he was in here, like, bragging about his testimony at Greenlee's trial.
Bartender: Right. A real player.
Ryan: Exactly. Do you happen to remember -- if you can think back -- anything about where he might have been going after he left Pine Valley? Do you remember that?
Bartender: Not that I can remember. I'm sorry.
Ryan: Nothing at all? All right. If you think of something, this is for you. And just give me a call, ok?
Bartender: Sure thing.
Ryan: Ok, thanks.
Liza: Ryan, how are you doing?
Ryan: I'm in a hurry --
Liza: And Greenlee, I mean, how is she?
Ryan: Are you serious right now?
Liza: Yes, I am serious. You know, we happen to have been friends before we ended up on opposite sides.
Ryan: You can pretty much take us off your Christmas list, ok, from now on, Liza.
Liza: Ok, Ryan, I am not getting any great joy out of this trial. And I know that this has not been easy on you either. But you have to understand, I had to do my job.
Ryan: How friendly will you be when you find out you're wrong?
Liza: I know you want to believe that, and I don't blame you. But, Ryan, I watched the jury leave. And I saw them. I saw the way they looked at her.
Ryan: That doesn't mean that you know how this is gonna play out.
Liza: Ok, I just think that you need to prepare yourself, both of you. It's not gonna end the way you want this to.
J.R.: Well, I understand. I don't like it, but I understand. Just keep me posted.
Annie: Bad news?
J.R.: Just some business. Nothing I can't handle.
Annie: Good. I mean, I'm glad that you can handle it.
J.R.: So you came here to --
Annie: I just came to check on you, make sure you were ok after everything.
J.R.: Yeah. Well, I'm fine.
Annie: Good. I mean, I figured it would be better for me to come here than the house. Technically I still work here, so I figured it would raise less eyebrows.
J.R.: Well, I'm glad to see you. And thank you again for helping last night.
Annie: No problem.
J.R.: About that phone conversation. I really don't know how to handle it.
Annie: What -- what happened?
J.R.: Well, it seems the S.E.C. is already leaning against me.
Annie: Ah, the Chandler takeover of Cortlandt.
J.R.: Yeah. I'm sure Caleb and Erica are getting the same information. They're probably putting their heads together, plotting how they're going to exploit this.
Annie: Well, the S.E.C. hasn't made their decision yet, right? So they haven't won.
J.R.: No, they haven't. And they won't.
Annie: You know, the timing of this whole thing really couldn't be any more perfect. Caleb finding out that Asher is his son. I mean, that's got to be a huge distraction.
J.R.: It is. But --
Annie: But what?
J.R.: You had to have been there to see that look on Asher's face when I told him that his father hadn't even come to the hospital to see him yet. I'm sorry that I did that. I kind of like the kid. He just got the raw end of the deal when he drew Caleb as his father. That son of a bitch should have stayed on the mountain where he belongs.
Erica: Come in.
Caleb: Thank you.
Erica: Sit down. So did you get Asher's wallet back to the doctor?
Caleb: I gave it to the nurse on-duty. The doctor was in surgery. And the kid's still unconscious.
Erica: So you did go to see him?
Caleb: Why don't we talk about what we're gonna do?
Erica: Well, sure, if your head's in it.
Caleb: I'm good. I think what we have to do is talk about how we're gonna win the S.E.C. over to our side.
Erica: I think I know how we can do that. The S.E.C. being a public entity, surely they have taken their share of hits since the economy went south.
Caleb: So what do we do?
Erica: P.R. is just as important to them as it is to any business. They want to look like the good guys.
Caleb: And we paint ourselves to be the underdog.
Erica: Exactly. Well, that's what we are. I mean, they would be returning a family business to its rightful owners -- us, the heroes. You know, like in your awful western novels that were all lined up on your bookshelves up in the house on the mountain.
Caleb: All right. All right. And you think they'll go for it.
Erica: I think they will. I think we may need to demonstrate to them how important our P.R. presence is in their lives.
Caleb: And how do you propose we do that?
Colby: I guess I kind of -- I bought one of everything.
Asher: Except for what I really wanted -- a key to get the hell out of here.
Colby: Asher, you've only been up for a few hours.
Asher: I'm fine.
Colby: Ok. So, uh, what are you gonna do when you get out of here? Do you think if you see --
Asher: See Caleb? What makes you think that I'd do that?
Colby: I don't know. He's your father.
Asher: Did he, uh, come see me at all?
Colby: Yeah, he did. He came yesterday.
Asher: But it wasn't important enough to stick around, right? Unlike what you did. You know, I thought you'd cut out once you'd found out that I'd been lying to you all that time -- about who I was and the reason for me to come to Pine Valley in the first place.
Colby: Well, it did kind of throw me at first, but I get it.
Asher: You do?
Colby: I do. You know, families can be incredibly complicated. And I think I know that more than anybody.
Asher: Yeah. I don't really consider Caleb family.
Colby: But he is your father.
Asher: And he also killed my mother.
Colby: Asher, maybe you don't know the whole story.
Asher: I know what I know. And it's enough to make me realize that I want him to suffer.
Colby: You want Caleb to suffer?
Asher: That's what I came to Pine Valley for -- to find the man responsible for my mother's death.
Colby: Caleb. Your mother --
Asher: Killed my mother, yeah.
Colby: My God. So what are you gonna do?
Asher: There's not much I can do lying in a hospital bed.
Colby: But you really want Caleb to suffer.
Asher: I'm just -- don't listen to me. I'm just crazy right now. I'm on all these meds. I think I should take your advice. I should chill, get better, and catch up on some rest.
Colby: Exactly. You're right.
Asher: Yeah. And I think you should do something. Get out of here. I mean, come on. You don't have to sit around watching me sleep all day.
Colby: You are so subtle. I mean, if you don't want me to be here, you could just say, "Go home, Colby."
Asher: Go home, Colby.
Colby: Fine. Would you get some sleep, though?
Asher: I promise. The minute you walk out the door, I'll be out.
Colby: All right. Well, I'll check on you later.
Asher: Ok. Hey, thank you, really, for you know.
Colby: I know.
J.R.: There's got to be a way to pressure the S.E.C.
Annie: Well, do you know any of the members?
J.R.: A few.
Annie: You got any dirt on them?
J.R.: Nothing that's gonna help us here.
Annie: Well, we could pressure them to postpone the final vote. That would buy us some time.
J.R.: Or we could go on the offense. We could challenge the S.E.C.'s authority to rule on Caleb's lawsuit against Chandler.
Annie: An even better idea.
J.R.: Then why don't I check with Legal on that. It's not gonna be a permanent solution.
Annie: It is if the court rules in our favor. Plus, we could get the shareholders involved in the lawsuit.
J.R.: You mean like a grassroots effort.
Annie: Yeah! There's a lot of money that they could potentially lose if the S.E.C. rules against us.
J.R.: That's good. Do some P.R. with the shareholders. I'll deal with Legal.
Erica: This angle's good. Shoot from over there.
J.R.: What's going on out there?
Reporter: Mr. Cortlandt, why are we here today?
Caleb: We're here to challenge the Securities and Exchange Commission to return my family's business to its rightful owner. We're here because this is where it all began. Probably one of the biggest corporate thefts of the decade. And standing behind you is the man who masterminded it.
Ryan: You know what, Liza? I wouldn't start celebrating yet. The game isn't quite over.
Liza: Ryan, I have done my job. I've proven that she's guilty.
Ryan: Except that she's not guilty. And you don't seem to care about that. All you care about is winning.
Liza: Yes, I do want to win, but I also believe that I'm right.
Ryan: What am I doing here? I don't have time for this.
Liza: Ryan, a man was murdered, ok? And he might not have been a saint. But who is responsible for this must pay.
Ryan: I completely agree with that. That I agree with. The question is, who is responsible?
Liza: Ryan, do you really believe that she's innocent?
Ryan: I know she's innocent. All you did is you followed the obvious suspect, like the bread crumbs that were laid out --
Liza: Are you saying that this is some sort of vast conspiracy?
Ryan: I'm saying that sometimes the truth isn't just at your fingertips. Sometimes you got to work for it.
Liza: I have done my work. Believe me. Look, Ryan, I want you to know that when it comes down to the penalty phase of this trial --
Ryan: Liza, you're getting way ahead of yourself here.
Liza: Ok. If she's convicted, I want you to know that I am asking the judge that she serve out her time at Edgewater Prison. It's not a high security facility. It's a lot closer to Pine Valley. This way, you can visit her behind bars.
Jack: Greenlee, I'll go, but I think I should stay at least until Kendall gets home.
Greenlee: I'll be fine.
Jack: I don't think you should be alone. And we do have a lot of work to do.
Greenlee: Like work on that appeal?
Jack: Yes. I'm an optimistic pragmatist. If things don't go our way, you've still got Ryan out there working for you.
Greenlee: I love you both for doing everything, but I just need some time alone. Please.
Jack: If you change your mind.
Greenlee: I promise I'll call you.
Jack: Good night, sweetheart.
[Cell door clangs shut]
Ryan: You going someplace?
Greenlee: I thought you'd be at the airport by now.
Ryan: Well, I had to make a couple stops.
Greenlee: Why are you here? You said that Pearson -- you needed to find him right away.
Ryan: I do. But you were right. This could take a while. I didn't want to leave you alone.
Greenlee: But he's our only chance.
Ryan: He is our only chance. That's why the only way I can do this is if you come with me.
Caleb: I lived a simple life until my uncle's death, which brought me here to take over the family business, a family business that was stolen by the man standing behind you -- J.R. Chandler.
J.R.: I want that camera out of here. All of you get out of here. Annie, call Security.
Caleb: We're not going anywhere, Junior, because my uncle, though deceased, will have his voice.
J.R.: That's fine. You want the real story? This man wants you to believe that he's a victim, but he is no victim. He accuses my family of horrible crimes. How about you, Caleb Cortlandt? Do you really want to go there?
Caleb: You Chandlers have robbed and cheated this town long enough. I am gonna get my company back, and I'm gonna restore my family's name.
Asher: You're so concerned about your family's name? What about the son you threw away? Why don't we talk about that?
