Greenlee: It's ok. I can do this. I can do this.
Ryan's voice: Just close your eyes, ok?
Greenlee's voice: If I do, it'll start again.
Ryan's voice: You need to go somewhere else in your mind, somewhere that makes you feel relaxed.
Madison: You saw the paper?
Ryan: Yes. Yeah. Greenlee has got Jackson now to help her.
Madison: Well, I hope you're not hungry.
Ryan: Wow. You know, I don't -- I don't think I've ever seen an omelet look like that before.
Madison: I was trying to make up for the chicken.
Ryan: Well, this -- this is definitely not as burnt as the chicken was, so --
Madison: Guess it's on to the slow-cooker, then. I got one when I got the omelet pan, but it's so much easier. You just dump in all the ingredients, push a button and -- dinner when you get home.
Ryan: Wow, look at that, huh? Sounds like magic.
Madison: Except when I push the button. It's burnt magic.
Ryan: Come here. Come here. I'm really sorry that we're not doing this in the Mediterranean, you know, I am, but you know, you here with me, with burnt eggs, that's all I need.
Madison: I was kind of thinking the same thing.
Ryan: Yeah? Good. Because I got something for you.
Ryan: Come here.
Madison: Even after I ruined your omelet?
Ryan: Yes. It's not ruining an omelet. Open it.
Caleb: Good morning and come on in.
Erica: It's going to be an excellent morning, Caleb. Because I think I have the first step to getting Cortlandt back from the Chandlers.
Caleb: Well, I'm all ears.
Erica: Well, I was up most of the night. I was thinking about what you said. About Scott stealing from a dead man. And if that's true, well, I just kept coming back to the same thought, the only one that makes sense. Palmer.
Colby: Scott, what's going on?
Scott: Does it matter?
Colby: Well, when you're sleeping in the guest room and your room looks like this, and you look like that, yeah, it does matter. Come on, Scott, just talk to me, ok? Just tell me what happened.
Scott: Annie and J.R.
Colby: Again? In your bed?
Annie: Scott? Scott! Scott? Scott, are you home? It's me. Where are you? Please call me back. Please don't shut me out, Scott. Call me back.
J.R.: We need to talk.
Annie: Stay away from me.
J.R.: I want to help.
Annie: Ha. The hell you do. Me. Destroyed. This is what you wanted all along.
J.R.: No. No, it's not, Annie.
Annie: You know, I finally just tried to make the right decisions in my life. I tried to just do the right thing. I tried to just be the mother that my daughter can be proud of. And I was so close. And I was so happy and then one stupid moment and it's gone. The life that I wanted to give Emma -- it's over. I have ruined my daughter's life, so you tell me. You tell me how I'm gonna live with that.
J.R.: You're a good mom. Emma will be all right. You're not alone.
Annie: Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Oh, God, I wish I could just go back to yesterday morning. Scott loved me, and Emma thought that I was a princess, and we were so happy. Oh, God. Why didn't I just keep running last night? Why did I let you bring me back to this house?
J.R.: You were almost struck by lightning, Annie.
Annie: Would that have been worse? You set me up, and I fell for it. You do know it's insane, right? What goes on between us? It's not making love. It's weakness. It's betrayal. It's so wrong.
J.R.: You were in pain so I reached out to you --
Annie: Pain that you caused! You were trying to destroy me and destroy my marriage. You wanted to grind your cousin into the dust. Well, congratulations, tough guy. You won. How does it feel, huh? You feel like a strong, powerful man now?
J.R.: You are twisting this into something that it's not.
Annie: You know, I finally get it. I finally get how stupid I've been. This whole time, I thought that it was about me. It was never about me. This was about Adam, this was about Scott --
J.R.: No. No, it's not.
Annie: Yes. You wanted me, because I was married to your father. You wanted me, because I'm married to your cousin. Not because you ever really cared about me. Tell me honestly.
J.R.: You want the absolute truth? You want the brutal truth? Then take a look in that mirror, Annie, and you'll see what I've seen all along. You don't love Scott.
Colby: I'm really sorry, Scott.
Scott: Are you?
Colby: Yes. I know how much you loved her and that you wanted to make this marriage work.
Scott: This is my marriage. You see anything left worth saving? I wanted to move Annie out of this house. Into our own home. And she wanted to wait, so I said, "Yeah, sure, whatever you want." She wanted to throw this party. I said ok. I agreed. The company needs me in Europe, so I went. That's what I do.
Colby: Yeah. Because you're a good guy. You're generous and you're kind. You're -- you're like Uncle Stuart. And I love you for that.
Scott: Or maybe I'm just weak -- when it comes to Annie.
Colby: No, no. No. You are not weak. You are one of the strongest people that I know.
Scott: Then it's time I stopped reacting and started taking action.
Colby: Look, Scott, this may not be much of a help, but at least you're free to find someone who really deserves you. And I know that it kills right now, but it's better that it happen now than months or years later. I mean, what if you guys had had a baby toge -- I'm really sorry. That was really stupid. I'm just gonna shut up, and I'm gonna give you a hug, ok? Come here. Listen, um -- Scott, is there anything else I can do for you?
Scott: No. I gotta get out of here.
Colby: Um, I think J.R. and Annie, they're downstairs.
Scott: So what -- I'm supposed to just run and hide from them?
Colby: No, I just don't think it's a good idea that you see them right now.
Erica: So if my hunch is right and Scott stole something from Palmer, then all we have to do is figure out what.
Caleb: They're not just gonna roll over and give it up.
Erica: Well, if you think going over there and blowing down their door and attacking them is gonna work, you're wrong.
Caleb: All right. So what do you suggest?
Erica: Annie. She's the woman in the middle. And she's an emotional mess.
Caleb: The one who stabbed you?
Erica: Yes. But I can use that. I can get her to talk to me. I can get her to open up.
Caleb: Well, if you meet with her, you better be sure there's no sharp objects around.
Erica: She doesn't scare me. She's desperate. She needs someone on her side.
Caleb: You. The woman she stabbed.
Erica: Well, why not? I mean it, Caleb. If Annie knows what Scott stole, then I will get it out of her.
Caleb: How could I ever doubt you?
Erica: I guess you have learned something since I was gone. It's about finesse and subtlety.
Caleb: Yeah, yeah, yeah. A woman's touch.
Erica: You know, while you were up on that mountain all those years, women did actually make great strides.
Caleb: Hey. I wasn't up there for 50 years.
Erica: Well, you were up there long enough. And I know I may not fit the stereotype of a feminist, but I know that I made my way, and I know what I've accomplished, and I know how hard it was to get there.
Caleb: Dorothy, you've done more in one lifetime than any woman -- or man, for that matter -- that I have ever met.
Madison: It's a key. To here.
Ryan: Well, yeah. I mean, you know, the slow cooker, maybe it needs to be on all day, right? You have to come in in the middle of the day and stir the pot.
Madison: Well, if you're worried about me burning the place down, the cooker has a timer. It turns itself off automatically.
Ryan: I didn't give you the key, because I'm worried about you burning the place down.
Madison: So you're cool with me burning dinner and breakfast and lunch and all that around here on a more regular basis?
Ryan: Yeah, well, you know, it's been an adventure so far.
Madison: You're a brave man. But this is big. Are you sure? I won't have an excuse to flirt with your super anymore.
Ryan: I want you to be comfortable here. I want you to feel like it's your home. Just come in whenever you want. You know, let's say, let's say I'm working late and you just want to come over and relax and make yourself comfortable. Right?
Jack: Thank you.
Greenlee: Thanks for the coffee and for the change of clothes and for getting a new bail hearing.
Greenlee: Flight risks don't usually get a second chance.
Jack: Well, first of all, you're not much of a flight risk. And it doesn't hurt that I've known this judge for years and years and years, and that she was open to rehearing your bail request.
Greenlee: No matter who the judge is, I have complete confidence in my lawyer.
Jack: Thank you very much. Won't you have a seat. Look, I know how you are in small spaces. How are you holding up here?
Greenlee: I have -- techniques for coping.
Jack: Ok. Well, if things go our way, and I have no reason to believe they won't, you'll be out of here this morning.
Greenlee: I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't shown up.
Jack: Be very clear about this. I meant what I said yesterday. I apologize for turning my back on you, and I am here to stay until we take care of this.
Greenlee: Thank you.
Jack: You bet. So let's get you to this hearing, huh? Officer.
Ryan: My compliments to the chef.
Madison: Look out, because next time I'm gonna make French toast.
Ryan: Ha! Slow down.
Madison: Ha ha ha.
Ryan: This is good. Hey. You tired?
Madison: No. Actually, I slept better last night than I have in a long time. It's because of you.
Ryan: Really? That must mean that I don't snore. Or hog the covers.
Madison: Well -- no, you know, ever since Greenlee was arrested for killing David, I've just been dreaming about the past a lot. Not the good memories.
Madison: The way he looked at me when I -- oh, that I could do that to another human being.
Ryan: He abused you for years, Madison.
Madison: It doesn't change the fact that I killed a man. You think you're over it and then it just comes at you in the middle of the night, and there's nothing you can do about it, you know?
Madison: [Sighs] But last night, with your arms around me -- I felt so safe. It's like you chased my nightmares away.
Ryan: Hmm. Does that mean that I rate for another piece of toast?
Madison: Extra jam.
Madison: So. Busy day?
Ryan: Well, Greenlee's got a bail hearing. What about you? What about your day?
Madison: You don't have to do this. Tiptoe around the whole Greenlee thing. I know you're committed to helping her. You're gonna be spending time with her and helping her and whatever. I'm great with that.
Ryan: You're great with that?
Madison: Good. I'm good with it. I'm fine. I'm totally, completely, absolutely fine.
Liza: Your honor, not only is the defendant accused of capital one murder, but she has tampered with evidence, obstruction of justice. And she has enough money to go anywhere in the world.
Jack: Your honor, I can vouch for my client's sincere desire to remain in Pine Valley.
Liza: Mrs. Hayward disappeared for a year, your honor, and wasn't found until she wanted to be found.
Jack: During the period to which the district attorney refers, my daughter was either injured, unconscious, or recovering from surgery. She was unable to return.
Liza: And now that she's well, she's got all the more options, doesn't she? Your honor, she has been denied bail. Why are we revisiting this?
Jack: Because my client's previous attorney did not adequately present her case for bail. Your honor, my client lives in Pine Valley. She has family here, she has friends here, a successful business that she is eager to continue to run. But most of all, she wants to prove to a jury of her peers that she did not kill her husband.
Liza: Then she'll have no trouble sitting in a cell until she gets that opportunity.
Jack: She has no reason to go anywhere. As her lawyer and her father, I can give you my word of honor that she will not leave town.
Judge: And I have your personal guarantee on this, Mr. Montgomery?
Jack: Yes, your honor, you do.
Judge: I hereby order the defendant released on $100,000 bail.
Liza: Your honor, she has been accused of a capital offense.
Judge: Ms. Colby, I've made my ruling. We're adjourned.
Jack: Thank you, your honor.
Greenlee: That's it?
Jack: That's it. You're free.
Greenlee: Thank you.
Jack: You are welcome.
Caleb: Howdy, Scott. Got a minute?
Scott: Not a good time.
Caleb: Good. All you gotta do is listen. You and your Cousin Junior. Oh, boy. You two are like -- night and day. Just like your daddies. Like Adam and Stuart. My Uncle Pete couldn't stand Adam, but he respected your father. Now, I know you're trying to do the right thing in this partnership with your cousin. The fact is, my friend -- if you want to get what you want -- you're gonna have to fight for it. And when you're fighting somebody as dirty as Junior -- you gotta fight harder and dirtier than he does. I know that's not your way.
Scott: Don't be so sure.
Annie: I do love Scott. He was my life, and you have ruined everything.
J.R.: You want to blame me. You want to throw things. You want to cry to me about how you're never gonna get your happily ever after with Scott. That's fine. But at some point, you're gonna realize that last night wasn't a mistake.
Annie: Oh! Like hell it wasn't.
J.R.: It was a wake-up call, Annie. You can cry all these big tears about how much you love Scott, but we both know you married the wrong man.
Annie: And are you the right man, J.R.? Tell me, are you going to sweep me off my feet now? Are you gonna show up on your big, white horse and carry me and Emma off into the sunset?
J.R.: I'm in a fight to the death for custody case of my son.
Annie: Yes, there's always an excuse. Something --
J.R.: I have to focus on it, Annie.
Annie: Yeah, yeah, and I would just be in the way. The only thing I'd be good for is a quickie, right?
J.R.: It's more than that, and you know it. We have a connection.
Annie: Oh, God. Oh, God, I am so sick of hearing about this amazing, intense connection you love to talk about. No. The truth is, you wanted to get me into bed. And you did, again, last night. That's all it was. That's what it was about. So to hell with you.
J.R.: Listen to me.
Annie: No, you listen to me. You want me but you have never said that you love me, ever. Scott, he told me every single day. Scott loved me the way that I've always wanted to be loved, and now I have lost it. I have thrown it away because of some stupid connection you're talking about. God, oh, I hate you.
J.R.: No, you don't. You're just upset. Once everything calms down --
Annie: Stop. Stop pretending like there's some option for us. You and me will never be together. Don't you understand that? Even if we wanted to be. We would destroy each other. You would lose your son and I would lose -- whatever small sliver of self-respect I still have left. So if you think last night was inevitable, go on and think that, but the truth is, the only thing that was inevitable is that we've both completely self-destructed.
J.R.: Well. When did you get back?
Annie: Well, I'll let you two talk.
Erica: Actually, no, I came to see you.
Annie: Oh. Ok. Well, our conversation's over.
J.R.: We'll finish it later. Welcome home.
Erica: Thank you. Are you all right? You look kind of ragged.
Annie: What do you want, Erica?
Erica: The new editor at "Tempo" is a good friend of mine. And she's so interested in doing a major feature on the new generation of Chandlers and Cortlandts, and I assured her that you would be thrilled to participate.
Annie: And what's the catch? I have to wear a clown wig on the cover?
Erica: Oh, Annie. You're so funny. I mean, it would be such a coup. It couldn't hurt for you to be featured in the same magazine that was once run by Brooke English. Show the world that you have triumphed despite the fact that she stole your husband.
Annie: You can't stand me. The last thing you would want is for me to triumph, so why don't you tell me why you're really here?
Erica: Look, just for the record, Brooke English was never a friend of mine. But this is really about somebody else anyway. Apparently, last night, J.R. and Scott were arguing, and J.R. accused Scott of stealing from a dead man.
Annie: Who heard that? Caleb?
Erica: Oh, that doesn't matter.
Annie: You know, to be honest, I don't really know anything about it, so if that's all --
Erica: No, that's not all. I happen to know that the dead man is Palmer Cortlandt.
Annie: That's ridiculous.
Erica: No, it's not. Not at all, actually. You see, I was close to Palmer and in the last few weeks of his life, Scott was a regular visitor.
Annie: I wouldn't know anything about it.
Erica: Really? You and your husband don't share things? Maybe just something that Scott mentioned?
Annie: You were so close to Palmer so there's really nothing that I can tell you that you wouldn't already know, Erica.
Erica: Well, if Scott stole something from Palmer, surely you can understand my concern.
Annie: Um -- I can't deal with you right now. Please just go.
Erica: It's all falling apart, isn't it, Annie? You worked so hard to build yourself back up, and now -- cracks everywhere.
Colby: How could you do it, J.R.? I love you. You're my brother. But sometimes I hate how selfish and destructive you can be. And I want you to be happy. I do. But just when I thought that maybe you had a shot --
J.R.: I'll be fine, Colby.
Colby: When Marissa told me that she was suing for primary custody of A.J., I stood up for you. I told her that he would be safe here, that nothing would happen to him.
J.R.: He will be.
Colby: Marissa's whole case is based on this house being toxic. And you just proved that by jumping into bed with your cousin's wife.
J.R.: This has nothing to do with A.J.
Colby: It has everything to do with A.J. You honestly can't believe that. Everything you do, the way you act, who you hurt, it all matters.
J.R.: I'm his father. And I have a shark of an attorney who'll destroy anyone who gets in my way.
Colby: The person who gets in your way the most is you.
Erica: So when we get Cortlandt back, we're gonna get you a real office.
Caleb: How'd it go with your friend Annie?
Erica: When I got there, she and J.R. were in the middle of some kind of a fight already. I mean, she was already an emotional wreck, and she was already completely off-balance. And then, when I mentioned to her that Scott had stolen something from a dead man, she completely shut down. And after that, when I said that I thought the victim was Palmer, I thought she was gonna just find something and stab me with it. Kidding.
Caleb: Did she say anything incriminating?
Erica: No, nothing specific. But I have no doubt that she knows exactly what it was Scott stole. I know that. And J.R., too.
Caleb: What was it? What was it, Pete? What'd they take?
Erica: It was definitely something big.
Caleb: If Junior is protecting Scott, it's gotta be something that would take down Chandler.
Erica: And look at you. You got a gleam in your eye. You like this. This is fun for you.
Caleb: What about you? You're enjoying this. Beats the hell out of cruising the Mediterranean with Captain Marvel.
[Glasses clink at ConFusion]
Ryan: Look at you. A free woman.
Greenlee: Ha. I have an incredible lawyer.
Ryan: Yes, you sure do.
Jack: Hello, Ryan. Have a seat.
Greenlee: I never would've gotten through those last few days in jail if you hadn't talked me down, so -- thank you. For helping me keep my sanity.
Jack: Actually, you have something else to thank Ryan for. My being here. He called me and told me what was going on.
Greenlee: You did? I told you not to.
Ryan: Well, you know, I thought you needed the best, so here he is.
Greenlee: Thank you. Both of you. You know, I know I always insist that I can take care of myself, but even amazingly independent women need their dad -- and their friends.
Madison: Looks like a party.
Ryan: Hey. Greenlee is out on bail, thanks to Jack's brilliance, of course.
Madison: I'm happy for you.
Greenlee: Thank you.
Madison: I was just upstairs in the office. Last quarter's sales figures. I think you'll be very happy.
Ryan: Good. Hey, why don't you join us? Here.
Madison: Oh, I have a lot of work to do.
Ryan: No, no. Stay. I know there's at least one of your bosses that's gonna be fine with you taking a little personal time. Ok?
Greenlee: Wouldn't be a party without you.
Ryan: See? Come on.
Jack: Um, would you like to order some food?
Ryan: You know what, I have a very large home-cooked meal waiting at home, so --
Madison: You know, a burger may not be a bad idea. Just in case.
Ryan: Forget it. I'm gonna take my chances. No way.
Greenlee: Must be better than jail food.
Madison: I'm really sorry, Greenlee.
Greenlee: For what?
Madison: My dumb blurt to Liza.
Greenlee: You mean telling the D.A. that I said I wanted to kill my husband?
Jack: Does somebody want to fill me in here?
Madison: I don't know why I did it.
Greenlee: It doesn't matter.
Ryan: Madison went back to Liza, and she told her that you didn't threaten his life.
Jack: So you rescinded your statement?
Madison: I told her I lied. I told her that I made it up, because I was jealous. Of you and Ryan.
Greenlee: How did she take it?
Madison: She was pissed.
Greenlee: I'll bet she was.
Madison: I know I made things worse.
Ryan: It's ok. It's all right.
Madison: I know that there's really no way that I can make it up to you, but -- you want to come have dinner with us tonight?
Erica: Well, if you think that going for the throat will actually get us the information we need, maybe you should try it.
Caleb: While you finesse it on your end.
Erica: I have rarely walked away without getting what I want.
Caleb: Oh, I believe that. Your way and my way couldn't be more different, could they?
Caleb: Probably a good thing.
Erica: I think definitely a good thing.
Caleb: You think?
Annie: Scott, where are you? You have to call me back. It's not about me or about us. It's something about the company and it's really serious. I'm afraid that -- please call me back.
J.R.: What was that about?
Annie: Honestly, J.R. --
J.R.: What are you afraid of? What just happened?
Annie: Just leave me alone.
J.R.: If this is about Chandler, you have to tell me.
Annie: I have to find Scott --
J.R.: Talk to me, Annie.
Annie: Everything is ruined.
J.R.: No. No, nothing's ruined. Everything's just fine. Chandler Enterprises. My son. Your daughter. But if something is threatening this -- any of those things, you have to tell me.
Annie: It's over, J.R. They know.
J.R.: What is over? Who knows?
J.R.: Is that why she was here?
Annie: Someone -- Caleb, I think -- overheard you and Scott arguing over Scott stealing something from a dead man.
J.R.: That's bad. But that doesn't mean that they know everything yet.
Annie: Erica figured out that the dead man was Palmer.
J.R.: Ok. Ok, so they're close. But they're not there yet. We can still keep them at bay, but I'm gonna need your help.
Annie: Are you crazy?
Jack: Greenlee, we were just invited to dinner. The polite thing would be to give an answer.
Greenlee: I'm gonna have to pass.
Madison: Not chicken this time. I promise. I have more enthusiasm than experience in the kitchen.
Jack: We have to start somewhere, though, right?
Ryan: She bought a slow-cooker. It's actually cooking right now. It's cooking slowly right now. You turned it on low, right?
Madison: Yes, and I read the directions this time. Twice. How about this -- I'll go home, I'll check on it right now, and if it's a bust, we can order in.
Ryan: Ok. You got your key?
Ryan: Ok. You are a thrill seeker, Greenlee. How could you possibly say no to this?
Greenlee: Sure. Why not?
Erica: So we're agreed on what we're gonna do?
Caleb: Yeah. You charm, I fight.
Erica: This is crazy. I mean, who would've thought this? The two of us teaming up against the house of Chandler.
Caleb: He did.
Erica: Ah! I suppose he did.
Caleb: Hmm. It's gonna be a tough road.
Erica: Actually, it is. It's gonna be very time-consuming. I mean, I know what's in it for you. You get back at the people who took advantage of you. You get Cortlandt back.
Caleb: It's why I'm still here.
Erica: But I've just come back from three amazing months away. This is gonna take time away from my family. I'm gonna have to put business things on hold, things that have already been neglected. I have a wedding to plan. What exactly is in this for me?
J.R.: If Caleb and Erica know that we were talking about Palmer, they can connect the dots to the nanotech project.
Annie: My marriage just blew up. How the hell can you expect me to care about your stupid company when my life is over?
J.R.: Well, then think of Scott, because it's his ass that's on the line.
Annie: Yeah, and I have to make sure he doesn't go down for this.
J.R.: Well, I want the same damn thing.
Annie: No. All you care about is Chandler, and to hell with Scott.
J.R.: Damn it, Annie. We need to fix this, because if we don't, we'd lose everything. And that can't happen. Not now.
Colby: Hi. I'm really glad I found you. Scott. Listen to me. I talked to J.R. and he knows he screwed up.
Scott: J.R. takes whatever he wants. He does whatever he has to to get it.
Colby: Maybe you should just, like, talk to him.
Scott: Talk to him? There's only one way to deal with J.R., Colby, and that's sink to his level.
Colby: You're scaring me. What are you talking about?
Scott: You're not the one who needs to be scared, sweetie.
Colby: Scott, where are you going? What's going on?
Scott: Something I should've done a long time ago.
Colby: Scott, wait.
Caleb: Uncle Pete was about the only family I ever knew. My getting Cortlandt back is my way of thanking him.
Erica: It's very honorable. And believe me, I honor Palmer's legacy and his will, but the time commitment, the energy I'm gonna need to expend --
Caleb: I know. I know you got a lot on your plate. You got a wedding to plan. But if you choose to help, I'll make it worth your while.
Erica: And what would that be?
Caleb: We'll run the company together. I need your help, Dorothy.
Madison: Thank you for letting me join in on your celebration.
Jack: Oh, you ain't seen nothing yet. When Greenlee's acquitted, then we'll show you a celebration.
Madison: Can't wait.
Ryan: Well, I'm gonna get going, too. Congratulations again. Let me get this, ok? I'll see you later?
Greenlee: I'll be there.
Jack: Ryan, take care. Good to see you.
Ryan: Good to see you.
Jack: You ok?
Greenlee: He's with Madison now. And the last thing I need is to get caught up in that when I'm facing murder charges. Those feelings could be seen as a motive for killing my husband.
Jack: Well, as your lawyer, I agree. But as your father --
Greenlee: I'm fine. Really.
Jack: Ok. Then let's talk strategy. Liza's got a damn good case against you. Now it's my job as your lawyer to put some reasonable doubt in the jurors' minds. One way to do that, the best way, is to direct their attention to another potential killer.
Greenlee: That could be anyone in Pine Valley.
Jack: Yeah, but the one that they would most easily buy would be Ryan.
Annie: Scott has already lost too much. So have I.
J.R.: Then you need to find him, and you need to convince him to help us.
Annie: He hates us.
J.R.: Then he needs to step up and do the right thing.
Annie: The right thing? What is that, J.R.? We've already completely gutted him and now you want to use him to save your damn company?
J.R.: I'm doing this for the family.
Annie: Oh, you don't give a damn about the family. You only care about yourself. You only want things for you. You don't care who gets in your way.
J.R.: You're wrong, Annie. I'm doing this for the family.
Annie: Oh, what family, J.R.? Adam has left. Marissa left you. Colby despises you. Scott hates you. This isn't about them, this is about you and your ego.
J.R.: No. I will not lose this company.
Annie: You have already lost. You just don't know it yet.
