J.R.: What's wrong with you?
Annie: Oh, like you don't know. You did this! You sabotaged my entire party -- drove all my guests away, fixed it so Scott couldn't get here. You humiliated me!
J.R.: Annie, that's not what --
Annie: Oh, don't even try to make excuses! Here. You won. You won, you bastard.
Bianca: Rough day?
Kendall: Oh, what? No, no, no. Me? No, no, no. Uh-uh. Uh-uh. Are you kidding me? I love mopping jailhouse floors. It is so invigorating, yes. The good news is that I get to actually clean the bathroom at the hospital tomorrow.
Bianca: Oh. You look awful.
Kendall: Thank you very much. I needed that. Ok. You know what? I want to know what you're gonna do about Gaby's birth records.
Bianca: What are you talking about?
Kendall: I need you to call Zach and tell him that we're having a hard time with her preschool application and that you need her biological father to come and straighten things out.
Bianca: Oh. Now I get it. You need Zach to come back to town.
Charles: I just met with D.A. Colby.
Greenlee: Bet that was fun.
Charles: She informed me that if we go to trial, she'll be pushing for murder one. So I need you to level with me right here, right now. Why didn't you turn that vial of digitalis over to the police the minute you found it? Look, whatever your story is, I'll make it work.
Greenlee: My story? It's starting to get really annoying that my own lawyer thinks I killed my husband.
Caleb: Boy, you just don't learn, do you?
J.R.: You were about to tell Caleb that you were his son when I walked in, weren't you?
Caleb: Is there something you want to say to me?
Asher: Chill. I'm just here to see you.
Caleb: About what?
[As a car approaches, Asher runs off]
Caleb: Ah! Hey! Hey!
[Car door closes]
Caleb: If it isn't Dorothy.
Erica: It is you. [Gasps and hugs Caleb]
J.R.: Here. Drink this.
Annie: So I'll feel better?
J.R.: It couldn't have hurt.
Annie: No, that's your department. Why did you do it, J.R.? Wait. I know why. Because you're alone, and you're miserable, and you needed me to miserable, too?
J.R.: That's not true.
Annie: You needed me to be a failure, because you failed at everything?
J.R.: Annie, you're looking at this the wrong way.
Annie: Oh, look at you. You've already lost your wife. You're about to lose your son, and you're probably gonna lose your company to Caleb.
J.R.: No. No one is taking anything from me!
Annie: Why? Because you'll burn them to the ground? God, I was such an idiot giving you my bone marrow. I saved your life so you could just turn around and ruin mine? God! Oh, I can't believe I really actually cared about you!
J.R.: If you're not gonna --
Annie: Don't you dare touch me. Don't you ever, ever touch me again! Do you hear me?! Ever! I hate you, J.R. I really, really hate you. [Cries]
Kendall: I am tired of waiting for Zach to come back to town and yell at me. I'm sick of it. Ok. So, yes, the birth records thing -- that was sort of a lame idea, but we'll come up with something better. We will.
Bianca: No, no, no. Not "we."
Kendall: Ok. Then I will come up with something better myself. You hang out with a mop and a bunch of mucky water all day, and it kind of puts things in perspective a little bit.
Bianca: Ok. And those swirls of mucky water told you to ambush your husband?
Kendall: No. They told me to fix things.
Bianca: Ok. So what happens when Zach comes back? What, you lock him in a closet?
Kendall: That's a good idea.
Bianca: Another surprise maneuver? That is exactly why he's so upset with you in the first place. How about a little honesty?
Kendall: No. No. Binks, honesty does not work when you are so completely wrong. Ok? Zach is so angry with me still, and he has good reason to be. I could be in prison right now, and I left Zach in the dark again. He should be my priority. If I had to choose between him and getting caught up in the whole Ryan-and-Greenlee craziness for the millionth time, I should always choose him.
Bianca: But why do you think you don't?
Kendall: I don't know. It's like I get so involved in this thing with Ryan and Greenlee. We've known each other for so long. We've been through so much together. And once I'm in there with them, it's like I can't cut loose.
Bianca: So you fell off the wagon, is what you're saying?
Kendall: Yeah. Kind of. I don't know. You think there's a rehab for dysfunctional friendships?
Bianca: I wouldn't call you guys "dysfunctional."
Kendall: Oh. Really? Ok. What would you call us?
Kendall: "Layered." I like that.
Bianca: There's so much history in there. No matter what, the three of you will always be connected.
Kendall: I know, but I cannot let that connection be stronger than the one I have to Zach.
Greenlee: It's bad enough that the police and the D.A. and everyone else in this town thinks I'm a murderer. Is a little faith from my attorney too much to ask? If I'm going to be sitting in court for trial, it'd be nice to be sitting next to someone who believes me.
Charles: And I still think you should consider not going to trial.
Greenlee: Why would I take a deal if I'm innocent?
Charles: Because it could be your only chance.
Greenlee: I thought you were my only chance.
Charles: Mrs. Hayward, I'm merely suggesting --
Greenlee: You're fired.
Charles: Excuse me?
Greenlee: You're fired. Take a hike. Pack up your fancy suitcase, your shiny suit, your bad attitude and get out of my sight.
Charles: You're making a huge mistake. The evidence against you -- I'm the best lawyer you're gonna get.
Jack: You'll have to forgive me if I disagree.
Erica: Sorry about grabbing you like that before. Lightning and thunder just always really terrified me, but I'm fine now.
Caleb: Good. I'm glad.
Erica: Are Kendall and Bianca home?
Caleb: No. They've been out most of the day.
Erica: Do you have any idea when they're coming back?
Caleb: I don't think anybody's expecting you back tonight.
Erica: No, it was a really last-minute decision. Are the kids asleep?
Caleb: Yeah. The sitter put them down.
Erica: Nothing. This is very different -- a civilized look to you now.
Erica: Civilization apparently agrees with you -- well, your face, anyway.
Caleb: I thought you weren't coming back till next week, Dorothy.
Erica: And I thought maybe that name would've gone away in the last three months.
Caleb: You'll always be the girl that fell out of the sky to me. And here you are again, showing up out of nowhere. What happened to your pre-wedding honeymoon plans?
Erica: Jack and I were having the time of our lives, but he had to be here. He had to come back to town because of his daughter, because of Greenlee. And, of course, I had a lot of unfinished business myself here in town. I'm gonna go check on the kids. They're just little angels, just every one of them.
Caleb: They' all angels when they're asleep.
Erica: Bianca told me you are very good with them, especially Miranda.
Caleb: Not really.
Erica: Thank you, Caleb. Thank you. You saved Miranda's life.
Caleb: I really didn't do that much.
Erica: I was told you were quite heroic. I just wish you had been that heroic when it came to Cortlandt Electronics. What were you thinking? Caleb, how could you do that, just let J.R. steal the company like that?
Caleb: It won't happen for long.
Erica: You think there's really a way to get the company back?
Caleb: You're damn right I'm gonna get it back. And I'm gonna stick around and run it. I even changed my name.
Erica: To Cortlandt?
Caleb: I did it for Pete.
Erica: Well, Palmer Cortlandt was a very wonderful and courageous man. It's gonna take a lot to live up to that name.
Caleb: You don't think I can do it, do you?
Erica: I think it's gonna take a lot more than a shave to get the company back.
Erica: Hi. Where are you?
Bianca: Hi, Mom. I'm here with Kendall. Where are you
Erica: I'm here at Wildwind, Bianca.
Bianca: Right now? You're back?
Erica: Yes. Jack and I just landed.
Bianca: But I thought the plan that you were coming back --
Erica: Why don't you just come over here as fast as you can? Because I really need to hug you both. So Bianca and Kendall will be here very soon.
Caleb: Good. Because I got to go.
Erica: Ok. Don't let me stop you.
Caleb: You gonna be all right?
Erica: Of course, I am.
Greenlee: I'll send you a check.
Charles: Excuse me.
Greenlee: What are you doing here?
Jack: I heard about your arrest. Why didn't you call me?
Greenlee: Well, when you left town, we weren't exactly in the best place.
Jack: And did you think I would really care about that?
Greenlee: My God, Dad, I stood by David after what he did to Erica, knowing how you felt about her, knowing -- I've made a lot of mistakes.
Jack: You'll get no argument me on that count.
Greenlee: I guess I need to say that I'm sorry for what I put you through, for pushing you away. You probably saw this coming. You knew my marriage would end badly.
Jack: Yes, I did.
J.R.: What the hell were you thinking? That branch landed two feet from you. You could've been killed.
Annie: That would've just made this night complete.
J.R.: No, don't say that.
Annie: Don't you dare try to pretend like you care, not after what you did to me tonight!
J.R.: Oh, come on, Annie. It was just a party.
Annie: It was so much more than a party, and you know that! Otherwise, you wouldn't have gone so out of your way to ruin it for me! God, J.R.! This was my chance. This was my chance to be someone.
J.R.: You are someone.
Annie: Who am I? Crazy Annie? Who am I? What, am I the gold-digging slut who married Adam Chandler and then cheated on him with his son?! God! Women like that, women like me, we don't get respect. We get made fun of, we get spit on, or worse, we get ignored. Tonight this was gonna be my time to prove them all wrong. Tonight was gonna change all of that. I was gonna walk in that room, and people were going to pay attention! They were gonna listen to me. They were gonna look at me with respect. You don't understand it. You don't get it. When you're born a Chandler, even at your lowest of low, you get respect. You're always seen. I just want to be seen! And I try so hard, and it never works! Look at me. I'm still nothing. God, I'll always be nothing. Ohh!
Colby: Hi. It's me calling. Gosh, I can't believe my mom's making you work so late. Um, call me, Damon. Ok? Um, Damon, I can't wait to see you. I have to go. Ok? Excuse me? What the hell are you doing?
Asher: Hope this is cool. Pretty gnarly out there. Whew.
Krystal: My Lord. What brings you out in this mess?
Caleb: I caught that punk Asher breaking into my house.
Krystal: Oh, you're kidding. Well, what'll you have?
Krystal: Listen, I'm glad --
Caleb: It's like a morgue in here.
Krystal: Well, I'm closing. What can I say? I'm glad you came in anyway. I wanted to thank you.
Caleb: For what?
Krystal: For representing Marissa in the custody case. Let's the least I can do after Junior stole her lawyer.
Krystal: No, that's not true. You could've found her another lawyer.
Caleb: Hmm. It's no big deal.
Krystal: It is to me and to Marissa, so thank you. And this is the part where you say "You're welcome."
Caleb: "You're welcome."
Krystal: Ha ha ha ha! You see? Come on. That wasn't so hard, now, was it? So how are the kids weathering the storm, huh?
Caleb: Sound asleep, unless Erica woke them up.
Krystal: Erica's back?
Erica: Ohh, its good to see you! Let me look at you! Oh, just as beautiful as ever. And you --
Kendall: Welcome home, Mom. Welcome home.
Erica: Oh, it's been just so long, way too long. Oh, I have my two girls in the same town, under the same roof, at the same time? I love this, I could get so used to this.
Bianca: Where is Uncle Jack?
Erica: He had to go see Greenlee.
Kendall: Ok. So you both know what's going on, then?
Erica: I'm just so relieved that we're not having this reunion in a prison visiting room.
Kendall: Yeah, well, community service isn't so bad. I get to wear this really nifty shirt, and I've learned all sorts of wonderful cleaning techniques.
Erica: Oh. Wonderful.
Kendall: You're mad?
Erica: I'm worried. Risking your freedom, your family, for Greenlee?
Kendall: Mom, I did it for Ryan. They're trying pin David's murder on him.
Bianca: Jesse arrested him first.
Erica: I see. And where is Zach in all this?
Kendall: Well, Zach is about as happy as you are at the moment.
Erica: Uh-huh. And where is he? Is he here, too?
Erica: But you are gonna be able to work things out? What?
Kendall: I have to give Zach his space.
Erica: Kendall, have you learned nothing from me?
Greenlee: Silence -- never a good thing.
Jack: I was just thinking how to best say this.
Greenlee: That you think I deserve everything I'm getting? That I brought this on myself? This is why I didn't call.
Jack: If it wasn't for David Hayward, you wouldn't be here. He brought you back to life. He brought you back to us. And I get that you would be grateful.
Greenlee: I was more than grateful to him.
Jack: I just kept waiting for you to wake up and open your eyes to see David for what he really is -- was. But you didn't, or maybe you couldn't. But then when you took his side after what he did to Erica's plane --
Greenlee: I know.
Jack: No, you don't, so just hear me out. I should've been there for you, and I wasn't, but I'm here now.
Greenlee: You're here now.
Jack: That's right -- to help, to represent you, be your lawyer, if you'll have me, and to be your father.
Greenlee: Aren't you going to ask?
Jack: Ask what?
Greenlee: If I killed David.
Jack: I don't have to ask you that. My daughter's no murderer.
J.R.: I'm sorry, Annie.
Annie: No, you're not.
J.R.: Look at me. Annie, look at me, please. I'm sorry. I never mean to hurt you.
Annie: Hurt me? No, You broke me.
J.R.: I was trying to break Scott for taking everything that belonged to me -- my father's respect, my family company, you.
Annie: Stop pretending like I matter to you.
J.R.: You do matter to me.
Annie: Enough! You got what you wanted, so just leave me alone!
J.R.: Is that some sort of joke? That's a joke, right? What I've always wanted is you.
J.R.: That's why all this got so crazy. That's why I did what I did -- because you married my cousin. You practically killed me, Annie. That's why I lost it. I wanted to get back at everyone. I wanted to get back at Scott for taking you away from me, and you for turning your back on us.
Annie: There is no "us."
J.R.: There could be an "us" if you would just give us a chance and stop fighting it.
Annie: I can't.
J.R.: Yes, you can. You want to be seen? I'm looking right at you. I am looking right at you, a beautiful woman who's strong, who cannot be broken. Come on, Annie. I know you. And I know you need this as much as I do.
Erica: I just can't believe that you let Greenlee get to you again.
Kendall: Greenlee and I are -- we're in a better place now.
Erica: Oh, really? You? Ok. And just wait till Greenlee makes your plane fall out of the sky.
Bianca: She swears she had nothing to do with that. That was David's idea. And you have to admit it does sound more like him.
Erica: So Greenlee was just his accomplice after the fact? You're ok with that?
Kendall: Greenlee was being manipulated.
Erica: Are you kidding? Greenlee wasn't manipulated. Nobody manipulates Greenlee. Greenlee brought out the worst in David. I know, because I almost died as a result. I'm just so glad that she's finally paying for her crimes -- well, one of them, at least.
Kendall: Mom, Greenlee did not kill David.
Erica: Kendall, I know that you believe that, and I think Jack does, too. But he's blinded by his love for his daughter. What's your excuse?
Kendall: You know what? I think I should go. You two probably want to catch up anyway, so I'm gonna let you guys catch up.
Erica: No, honey, please don't go. Please. I'm just concerned about you and Zach. The boys --
Kendall: I know. I know you are.
Erica: Honey, if there is one thing that I've learned in this time away, it's that family is what's most important. Don't let anyone, anyone come between you, especially not Greenlee.
Kendall: I'm glad you're home.
Erica: Not exactly the reunion I hoped for.
Bianca: Kendall's having a tough time.
Erica: But I want talk about you. I want to know, how are you?
Bianca: Me? I'm great.
Bianca: Uh, she's great, too.
Erica: And is she here?
Bianca: No. I told you, she's held up because of work.
Erica: But things are ok between you and Reese, aren't they?
Bianca: Yeah, Mom, they're fine. I'm gonna go check on the kids.
Krystal: So did --
Krystal: Did Erica seem happy to see you?
Caleb: She got on my case about losing Uncle Pete's company. I can't say I blame her.
Krystal: Wow. That's mighty big of you. So did she give you the details of the trip?
Krystal: And you didn't want to know all the details, huh?
Caleb: Is this a bar or a beauty parlor?
Krystal: Ok, honestly, I think Erica hurt you when she left.
Caleb: Oh, boy.
Krystal: I do. And, Caleb, as your friend, I just want to make sure that you're ok.
Caleb: You know, if getting hit over the head didn't take me out, I don't think there's anything that Erica can do.
Krystal: Glad to hear that. You gonna call her?
Caleb: This is starting to eat into your tip.
Krystal: Ok, ok, ok. I'm sorry. No more questions.
Caleb: Thank you.
Krystal: Did she and Jackson have a good time?
Caleb: Back into the rain.
Jack: If you don't mind, Greenlee, I'd like to jump right in here.
Jack: So the night David collapsed at the club, had you seen him, talked to him?
Greenlee: We fought -- "argued" I guess a better word. David had just found out that I was working with Ryan.
Jack: Working with Ryan on what?
Greenlee: To get out from under David's blackmail.
Jack: Hayward was blackmailing you?
Greenlee: To stay married to him.
Jack: With what was he blackmailing you?
Greenlee: Fake evidence. He was framing me for Erica's plane crash.
Greenlee: I finally told Ryan. But then David found out and --
Jack: And you argued?
Greenlee: He was hurt. The next time I saw him, he was -- I feel so guilty.
Jack: Oh, don't. Hayward was a twisted, sick man, Greenlee.
Greenlee: But he loved me.
Jack: He wasn't capable of love.
Greenlee: No, he was. I just couldn't love him back. Not in the way that he needed me to.
Jack: Was that because of Ryan?
Greenlee: My husband just died. Ryan is with Madison now, and I don't even have time to think about that. I have to concentrate on this -- murder charges.
Jack: Not for long. Hey. Hey. Look at me. You are innocent, and I'm going to prove it.
Colby: We do have a front door, you know.
Asher: Yeah. I didn't want to interrupt the party downstairs.
Colby: Well, there's no cars out there, so I'm pretty sure the party's a bust.
Asher: So you weren't texting me to come over. What's up?
Colby: I know what you did.
Asher: Last summer or --
Colby: No. Spying on Caleb Cooney -- or Cortlandt or whatever his name is. You're the guy who knocked him out. Asher, you hit a guy over the head.
Asher: For you. I mean, not "you" you, but the Chandlers. Caleb's out to screw with your family.
Colby: Yeah, because he wants his company back.
Asher: But you don't know how far he'll go to get it. Everyone thinks Caleb's this innocent mountain dude, but I'm telling you he's not. All right, you want to know the real reason I came in through the window?
Asher: Ok. Caleb was chasing me down. The guy is crazy. I thought it would be easier to shake him if I blew through the woods and climbed up the back.
Colby: What would he have done to you if he caught up to you?
Asher: Who knows? I'm just glad I didn't wait to find out. Probably a good idea if I stay here tonight. Who knows if he's still out there waiting for me?
Colby: Excuse me? What are you doing?
Asher: What does it look like I'm doing?
Colby: It looks like you're taking off your clothes.
Asher: Smart girl.
[Thunder crashes as J.R. and Annie make love. Scott walks in and goes upstairs.]
Colby: And I will find some clothes for you to wear somewhere around here. And by the way, you are not walking around here naked.
Asher: You never said "Yes."
Colby: Say "Yes" or what?
Asher: To me staying here tonight. Is it cool?
Colby: You're telling the truth about Caleb? He's really after you?
Asher: I swear.
Colby: Then yes, you can stay here.
Asher: Thanks. So whatever happened to the rager? I thought it was, like, a big deal.
Colby: Well, it was a big deal to Annie. I guess Pine Valley society is not ready for her yet. Can you blame them? She is trash.
Asher: That's kind of harsh.
Colby: Whatever. It's drama around here all the time, and I'm just sick of it.
Asher: Wow. Last time I talked to you, you were all about family.
Colby: Yeah. But since then, Marissa is suing for custody of A.J. I get why she's doing it. I do. But I've been through it and it blows.
Asher: At least the kid's got parents that love him enough to fight for him.
Colby: Did someone not fight for you, Asher?
Greenlee: What's wrong?
Jack: I'm just trying to take it all in here. Look, I'm gonna go home and get started on this tonight. I'll see you first thing in the morning. Ok? Our priority right now is to get you the hell out of here.
Greenlee: Have I mentioned how happy I am that you're home?
Jack: Me, too.
Kendall: Hi. Welcome back!
Jack: Thanks. Good to see you.
Kendall: You, too!
Jack: Have you seen your mother?
Kendall: Yeah. Yeah, I did.
Jack: Good. Good. Well, you look great.
Kendall: So do you. It's so good to see you.
Jack: Thanks. And you -- we're gonna fix this, ok? Excuse me.
Kendall: Yeah. So? Is Jackson your lawyer now?
Kendall: Ok. Well, I mean, did you tell him everything?
Greenlee: Everything except that I found the drug that killed David in Ryan's pocket. But he can still defend me and win without that information.
Kendall: I hope you're right.
Greenlee: I have to be. So how pissed is Erica?
Kendall: She's pretty pissed. Mostly, she's just worried about me and Zach.
Erica: I truly have never felt closer to Jack than I do now. We were discovering the world and rediscovering each other. It was just like something out of a dream. We just kept walking and walking and just talking and --
Caleb: Don't stop on my account.
Erica: What happened to you? Did you get caught in the rain?
Caleb: No. It was a car wash.
Erica: I see.
Miranda: You're back!
Erica: Ha ha ha! Hi! Ohh! Ohh. Oh, my goodness, Miranda and Spike! Look at you two! Oh, my goodness! I think each one of you grew a foot! Look at you! You're fantastic! I love your hair, Spike.
Caleb: Stay away from me. Don't come anywhere near me. Don't.
Erica: Get him! Get him good! Go ahead!
Bianca: Who would've thought -- total kid magnet.
Caleb: I am not.
Kendall: I'll deal with my mother.
Greenlee: Famous last words. I don't know. Maybe you should just keep your distance for a while.
Kendall: From you? Are you serious?
Greenlee: Until my father can get the charges dropped.
Kendall: No. I'm not going anywhere.
Greenlee: I never thought we'd be like this again after everything I've done.
Kendall: After everything David did.
Greenlee: I should've told someone the minute I knew he did something to that plane.
Kendall: Yeah, you're right. You should have. Next time you better put my mother's safety first, and I wouldn't get on any planes with her in the near future.
Greenlee: I'll bring a parachute. Thank you.
Kendall: Don't be too grateful. I have my own selfish reasons for being here. With Zach gone, I don't have anyone to hang out with, just you. And you know what? Honestly, Bianca doesn't bitch as well as you do.
Greenlee: Thanks. Thanks.
Kendall: So if Jackson gets you cleared --
Kendall: When, where are you gonna go?
Greenlee: I have no idea.
Kendall: I do. Stay with me.
Greenlee: At Wildwind? Are you gonna move back into your house?
Kendall: Not without Zach.
Greenlee: Well, there you go.
Kendall: Well, we'll figure something out.
Greenlee: I don't want to put you out.
Kendall: We always put each other out. That's what we do.
Officer: Time to go.
Caleb: It's Cortlandt now.
Jack: New name, new look. May I come in?
Caleb: Please. She's right inside.
Jack: Sweetheart. And look at this one here, huh? Come here.
Bianca: Oh, good to see you.
Jack: Good to see you.
Bianca: How's Greenlee?
Jack: She's holding up as best as can be expected, I think. I'm taking over her case, so --
Caleb: That could get a little tricky, don't you think? Representing your daughter?
Erica: No. Jack really knows what he's doing. Right?
Jack: Jack certainly hopes he does. Actually, Cooney here -- sorry -- Cortlandt makes a good point.
Bianca: Caleb's actually starting his own law practice.
Bianca: He's decided to stay in town.
Caleb: I'm mostly gonna be working on getting Cortlandt back from the Chandlers. Hope you don't mind the competition.
Jack: I won't even know you're there. I'll be so focused on getting the murder charges dropped against my daughter.
Erica: I hope you do it really soon, because I can't wait to start planning our wedding -- as soon as possible.
Asher: So do I look like the next big Chandler or what?
Colby: [Chuckles] Why do you always do that -- you avoid talking about yourself?
Asher: What am I avoiding? I've already told you my story.
Colby: If that's true, then why do I feel like I don't know you at all?
Asher: Maybe a little mystery is a good thing.
J.R.: Talk to me.
Annie: This was wrong.
