Colby: You hear that, Pine Valley? I love Damon Miller! Aah! Aah! [Sobbing]
Asher: You're safe.
Damon: Doesn't look that way to me.
Kendall: I hate being here without you and the boys. I miss you guys so much.
Zach: Enough to get on the next plane and back here?
Kendall: Zach, there is nothing I would love more. It's --
Zach: Ryan. I assume he's not out of the woods yet.
Kendall: He's improving, but I would love to just spend some more time with Bianca and the girls.
Zach: Of course, you do.
Kendall: I'll call you tomorrow, give you an update.
Zach: You do that.
Kendall: I love you.
Zach: Love you, too.
Kendall: Ok. Listen to me. You may not be at death's door like you want everyone to think you are, but you had an aneurysm erupt in your head. Now get back in bed before I sic Jake on you.
Ryan: What I need to do is, I got to figure out a way to get inside the safe inside Hayward's hotel room.
Kendall: Great. Ok. Breaking and entering and safecracking. That's a great way to recuperate.
Ryan: Greenlee saw him put something inside the safe, and he didn't give her the combination. It's got to be where he's keeping the evidence that he cooked up to blackmail her.
Kendall: Ryan, look at me. Look at me. You have to forget about this whole breaking-and-entering stuff and worrying about David's safe. You have to focus on taking care of yourself.
Ryan: Greenlee needs my help.
Kendall: Greenlee is perfectly capable of taking care of herself tonight.
Ryan's voice: Open it.
David: What are you doing? I thought you'd be dressed by now. You haven't changed your mind about dinner, have you?
Greenlee: Well, can't a girl still be fashionably late?
David: Yeah. It's just, I have a surprise for you.
Greenlee: What kind of surprise?
David: It's the kind of surprise that you find out about once you get there, if we ever get there.
Greenlee: I'll hurry. Can you give me a hint?
David: Well, it's just my way of showing you just how hard I'm working to trust you.
Ryan: The hardest part is actually gonna be getting inside the room.
Kendall: Oh, God, could you listen to me any less?
[Cell phone rings]
Kendall: David. He wants me to have dinner with him and Greenlee. He just assumes I'll be there.
Ryan: That's great. That's great.
Kendall: No, it's not. What's great about it? I don't want to be within 10 feet of him.
Ryan: No, no. You go to dinner, and you let him think that you aren't suspicious, and then while you're at dinner --
Kendall: No. No, Ryan. I'm gonna stay here, and I'm gonna make sure that you stay put.
Ryan: Ok. Do you want Hayward to get away with bringing your mom's plane down?
Kendall: Well, I still don't know if I believe that Greenlee was his accomplice or not.
Ryan: She's not. She's not responsible for that crash. I totally believe that, ok, and I know deep down somewhere, you believe that, too, and if you help with this, you help put Hayward away. Then you guys can get past this, and you and Greenlee can, you know, be friends again.
Kendall: [Sighs] Ok. Ok. I'll do it. I'll do it on one condition.
Kendall: That when I leave, you stay here, and you stay put and you rest --
Ryan: I'm resting. Look.
Kendall: Do it now.
Ryan: Look. Look at me resting.
Kendall: Go. All right.
Ryan: Call me after dinner. I rest. You call me.
Kendall: You better be here.
Scott: Do it for me. I can't lose her, Marissa. Please don't tell Annie and J.R. about us.
J.R.: Good. You're both here.
Scott: I don't think Marissa is up for this right now.
J.R.: I know that you're upset about seeing Annie and me up at the cabin.
Annie: But nothing happened.
Marissa: It's more than that.
Scott: There's obviously a lot of emotions at play here. Before one of us opens up any more wounds by saying something we'll regret, I think that we should all just go back to our corners.
J.R.: No. Now that we're all in one room together, I think it's high time we get everything out on the table -- once and for all. I think it's safe to say that Marissa thinks that something happened between me and Annie at the cottage.
Marissa: I told you, it's not just that.
J.R.: You suspected that it's been going on this entire time. Am I right? Maybe you think that, too.
Scott: I prefer not to think or talk about any of this.
J.R.: Pretending nothing happened is not gonna help anyone, Scott. Marissa, I don't blame you for jumping to that conclusion. I've let you down before, but you also know me. You can see me. You know what's in my heart. I told you the truth before, and I'm telling you the truth right now.
Annie: And if you're still having doubts, you shouldn't. I told you why I went to the cottage. It was for you and for us and for this company.
J.R.: I know how hard it must be to trust me after everything that happened, but I swear to you, I will do whatever it takes to convince you.
Marissa: I believe you.
J.R.: [Breathes deeply] You mean it?
Marissa: Yeah. I do. We'll talk about this later, ok? I got to go pick up A.J.
Damon: Hey, what happened? What happened here?
Colby: I was standing on the ledge, and then the railing broke, and then he grabbed me back. [Sobbing]
Damon: Shh, shh. Thanks, man.
Asher: Right place, right time.
Damon: Shh, you're shaking.
Colby: I know. It all happened so fast.
Damon: Ok. You're ok. You're ok.
Colby: [Panting] Hey, you're that guy from the park, the one who said he lost his dog.
Asher: It wasn't actually my dog.
Colby: I know. What are you doing up here? Did you follow me?
Greenlee: You know I don't like surprises.
David: Oh, humor me this time, will you? And here she is, just on time -- your surprise.
Kendall: I'm a surprise?
Greenlee: What is this?
David: Well, it's a reunion of sorts. I know the two of you are nothing near the close friends you once were, but I also know that, in spite everything that's happened, you still care very deeply for each other. So since Kendall is only here for a few days, I thought dinner would be the perfect opportunity for you guys to get past some of those bad feelings and get back to the incredible team you once were. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go see if our champagne was put on ice.
Greenlee: Why are you really here?
Kendall: David invited me. I figured I would take advantage of the opportunity to help you.
Greenlee: I don't need your help.
Kendall: All right. Listen to me, Greenlee. Whatever unresolved issues we still have can wait. Tonight I'm here to help you convince David you're falling back in love with him.
Asher: I can see how it would look like I was following you.
Colby: So is that a yes?
Asher: I was actually here before you two even came up.
Colby: Well, why didn't you say anything to let us know we weren't alone?
Asher: You two were having a moment. I didn't want to spoil it.
Damon: What were you doing here in the first place?
Asher: Same as you -- taking in the view. I'm new in town, figured it might give me a handle on the place.
Damon: You got that thing pretty packed, huh?
Asher: I like to be prepared.
Damon: So you just moved here?
Asher: Nah. Passing through. Heard good things about this place.
Damon: Where are you staying?
Asher: Hadn't really gotten that far yet. Thought maybe I'd sleep under the stars, you know?
Damon: Well, if you want, man, you can crash at my place. You can sleep on the pull-out --
Colby: Damon --
Damon: Grab a bite to eat, something.
Colby: I'm sorry, but we don't even know your name.
Asher: Asher. Asher Pike.
Damon: I'm Damon. This is Colby.
Asher: Damon, Colby. Got it.
Damon: Thanks again, man, for saving her.
Colby: Yeah. Thank you.
David: To old friendships rediscovered.
Kendall: Hmm. To finding out the truth.
David: Yeah. You're still suspicious.
Kendall: Well, I have good reason to be.
David: Those are nothing but vicious rumors that Greenlee and I had anything to do with your mother's plane crash.
Kendall: Well, you know what they say about rumors. There's a little truth to every one.
David: Hmm. Well, contrary to public opinion, your mother is still very dear to me, and I would never do anything to put her in harm's way, but why not? To finding out the truth. Hear, hear. Good. Now back to the reason why I invited you to join us. I believe it's time for the healing process to begin, to repair the wonderful friendship you both once had.
Greenlee: Well, you know, I've had a lot of anger toward you over that horrible night, but I've come to realize that it was an accident.
Greenlee: Well, I basically lost my life, and I was looking for someone to blame, but I was wrong. Accidents happen. It was no one's fault.
Kendall: Well, it tore me up for a very long time, first to think that I lost you that night. Then you came back, and I lost our friendship, so I guess it would be pretty ironic if David had saved both.
David: Hmm. Now, I think that deserves one last toast. To open minds and open hearts.
[Ryan uses several beeping devices to try to open the Haywards' Yacht Club room door until the lock clicks open]
Ryan: Ah, you still got it, Lavery. You still got it.
Annie: I'm really grateful that you and Marissa believe us. I know what happened with J.R. will always be a sore point.
Scott: We can talk about this later.
Annie: Ok. I just thought --
Scott: I know. J.R. and I have some things to discuss.
J.R.: Yes. We certainly do.
Scott: Do you mind, hmm?
Scott: Ahh --
J.R.: Ha ha ha!
Scott: What's so funny?
J.R.: It's priceless -- a man who could do no wrong. Ha ha ha! Mr. Cleaner-than-clean. Turns out, he's no more than a common thief. Ha ha ha! Oh, yeah. That's hilarious.
Scott: Those nanotech blueprints fell into my lap.
J.R.: Mm, yeah --
J.R.: But you couldn't wait to take advantage of the chance to get your shine on, huh?
Scott: I knew this was big. I knew that this was something that I could turn into a multimillion-dollar success.
J.R.: Do you also realize that you put our family in risk of financial ruin if it ever came out how you got those precious plans of yours?
Scott: I was going to invest in it with Palmer.
J.R.: Instead, you stole it. We leveraged everything my father spent a lifetime working for -- a legacy, a family company -- for a device that didn't even belong to you, but it wasn't only Chandler that you put in jeopardy. You undervalued Cortlandt Electronics before we even bought it. That is a crime right there. You know, I think about how my father hailed you for being the good Chandler, anti-me. No, no. Oh, Uncle Stuart's wonder boy was gonna take Chandler to new heights.
Scott: Oh, man, we both know damn well that you would've jumped on this chance if you'd have had it yourself.
J.R.: Yeah. Maybe I would have, but I would've done it a lot smarter. I wouldn't leave any loose ends lying around. See, that's the problem with you, Scott. You're not devious enough, are you? No, not the good Chandler. You'd never intentionally do something underhanded, right? Would you put our family in jeopardy? Would you betray us, Scott?
Scott: I'm not proud of what I've done, but I am not gonna grovel for your forgiveness.
J.R.: Really? Even though you know it would only take me one phone call to throw your ass into prison?
Scott: You wouldn't turn me in.
J.R.: Sure about that?
Scott: Yeah. Yeah, because you know that if word got out that the nanotech project was stolen, it would cripple Chandler Enterprises, and as much as you hate me, you would never sacrifice your father's company to get back at me.
J.R.: Mm. Yeah, but there are other ways to make you face those consequences.
Emma: Are you nervous, Mommy?
Annie: Hey, come here. No. Why would I be nervous?
Emma: You have to stand in front of a lot of people.
Annie: Well, I don't have to do that anymore because Scott and I decided to elope. It's gonna be small and private and just our little family.
Emma: So he's still gonna be your husband?
Annie: Yeah. I certainly hope so. Hey. Hey, what is it? Don't you want me to marry Scott?
Emma: You get married a lot.
Annie: I know, and I usually end up sad, right? Well, that's not gonna happen this time. You know why? Because Scott knows me, and he loves me, and if you can hold on to that love, which is what we're gonna do, we're gonna be so, so, so, so happy, ok?
A.J.: I want to show Emma the new toy I got.
Annie: Oh, sure. Sure. I can tell you're still on edge. What? What? What can I say to make you feel better?
Marissa: You think it's that easy to just forget? You're wrong.
David: Well, it must be nice to be back home, even if it did take Ryan's illness to get you here. How's he doing?
Kendall: Well, he's still in pretty bad shape.
[Cell phone rings]
Kendall: [Sighs] I'm sorry.
David: Is everything all right?
Kendall: Yeah. It will be, but you know what? I have to go, so you two stay. Enjoy your night. Finish dinner. Get dessert. Enjoy yourself.
Greenlee: We'll do that.
Kendall: Ok. Thank you, David, for arranging this dinner.
David: Well, it was clearly a great idea.
Kendall: Yeah. Maybe something good will come out of it.
Greenlee: Hope so.
[Knock on door]
Kendall: Ryan, are you in there? It's me -- the reality police. Have you lost your mind?
Ryan: Would you get in here, please, before somebody sees you?
Kendall: What are you doing here?
Ryan: What are you doing here?
Kendall: What am I doing here? What are you doing out of the hospital? You told me. You promised me that you would stay, and you would rest.
Ryan: Come on. You didn't actually think I meant it, did you?
Kendall: It's not funny. See? I knew it. I knew. When I got Jake's text, I knew I'd find you here.
Ryan: Well, I'm actually glad that you did find me here, because I need somebody to stand lookout.
Kendall: No. You're not serious.
Ryan: Yes. I'm serious. Do you want us to get caught or not?
Kendall: Uh --
David: Think she's all right?
David: Well, she just seemed to run out of here pretty quickly.
Greenlee: Well, it's probably something about the kids.
David: I got to make a phone call.
Greenlee: Right now? We're in the middle of dinner. Can't it wait?
David: I'm not sure it can.
Ryan: Damn it.
Kendall: Try Greenlee's birthday. Why am I doing this?
Ryan: No. That doesn't work, either. Doesn't work. Wait a minute. Why didn't I think of this before?
Ryan: The day this whole nightmare started -- Greenlee and David's wedding day. That's what I'm talking about.
Kendall: Ok. What's in there? What'd you find?
Ryan: Nothing. It's totally empty.
Kendall: Ok. All right. Well, ok, Ryan. You gave it a shot. It didn't pan out. Will you please go back to the hospital, please?
Ryan: No. There's got to be something in this room, something.
Kendall: It doesn't matter what you find. If David walks in here and sees that you're not as sick as he thought you were, it's not gonna be good. How long before he finds out that you're working with Greenlee?
Kendall: Zach, what are you doing here?
Zach: You first.
Kendall: How did you even know I was here?
Zach: I didn't. Jake told me I might find Ryan here.
Ryan: Oh, then you probably know what's going on. Look. We got to go. Got to get out.
Zach: Hey, you told me he was dying in the hospital. He looks pretty good.
Greenlee: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What is this phone call about?
David: Hospital business.
Greenlee: Well, you can do that here at the table.
David: It's not gonna take long. Why? Is that a problem?
Greenlee: We're having a nice dinner. Kendall is right. We should enjoy it. We should have dessert.
David: And you don't think we should try and track her down, make sure everything is all right?
Greenlee: No. No. No. I mean, as happy as I am with how the evening went, Kendall and I have a long way to go till we get back to where we were, just like you and I do.
David: I'm happy to see that you're making an effort.
Greenlee: I'm trying, but I don't want to talk about that or Kendall. I want to talk about that chocolate cake you're gonna share with me.
[Asher sighs, then chuckles]
Colby: [Chuckles] Sorry. Uh --
Asher: I'm sorry. They told me this was the way to the topless beach.
Colby: Huh. N-no. Actually, the topless beach is over th -- I've actually never been to a topless beach before. I don't really know wh-where it is, so -- huh. Ok.
Asher: It's safe to look now.
Colby: Hmm. Um, where's Damon?
Asher: Getting something to drink.
Colby: Look. I'm sorry for accusing you of following me. That's kind of a bitchy thing to do after you saved me from going splat.
Asher: No worries. A girl like you probably has creepy dudes following her all the time -- not that I'm a creepy dude, because, I mean that --
Colby: No, no. I know what you mean.
Asher: Ok, and I was flirting with you in the park, that is, until you threw the old "boyfriend" word out there.
Colby: Well, I'm glad you were up there, and I would like to offer you some money, maybe for a hotel to stay in.
Asher: It's cool. You don't have to pay me for doing what's right.
Colby: What are you? Are you, like, Spiderman or something?
Asher: It's just that handouts aren't really my thing.
Colby: No, no. I wasn't meaning it like that. It's just, money is not a big deal in my family.
Damon: She's not lying about that. The Chandlers are loaded.
Colby: Mm-hmm. Chandlers. Very, very scary family.
Asher: Never heard of them.
Annie: I am trying to keep this peaceful. It is very important that our family sticks together right now. It's all ok. I'm gonna marry Scott. You and J.R. can continue to --
Marissa: Do you really think that I want to take marital advice from you?
Annie: I'm just saying, J.R. loves you so much, you should trust --
Marissa: A.J., come on. Let's go. It's time for bed.
Scott: You gonna tell me how you're gonna make me pay, or, what, you want me to guess?
J.R.: I just don't get it.
Scott: Get what?
J.R.: Annie. She thinks the sun sets with you. Did you know that she was practically on her knees begging me not to hurt you?
Scott: Is that why you're keeping so quiet, huh? You want to keep Annie forever in your debt? You want to publicly humiliate me, but you know you'll look better for Annie if you take the high road. Is that my punishment?
J.R.: I am taking the high road, but I'm not doing it for Annie. I'm doing it for my family, for my marriage. Marissa and I have a life to rebuild, and I cannot give her and A.J. the time that they deserve while I'm cleaning up your mess, so don't you think for one second that this is over, because you've already proven to me that you are not capable of holding your side of Chandler up. So I'm gonna take charge of this family, of this company just the way it was always meant to be.
Marissa: I don't know how long I can keep this a secret or --
Scott: [Sighs] Annie.
Marissa: I was just saying good night.
Annie: So? What did J.R. say?
Scott: He's not going to turn me in.
Annie: I told you he wouldn't.
Scott: He also told me how you pleaded my case.
Annie: Yeah. I'm just glad I got through to him.
Scott: Like no one else can, apparently.
Annie: About that, um, remember how we vowed to always be completely honest with one another?
Scott: I do.
Annie: [Giggles] Oh, I just can't wait to marry you. That's all. I can't wait to marry you. I love you so much, too much to ever risk losing what we have. Mm.
J.R.: Hey. Come on in. I want to give you something.
Marissa: J.R., please, you don't have to do that.
J.R.: This isn't about what happened or didn't happen with Annie. I got this a while ago for you. Now --
Marissa: What did you do?
J.R.: Open it, all right? It's for when you start you new job with Caleb. Hey, listen. I am so sorry that I tried to talk you out of taking that job with him. I want to support you just like you support me. I definitely want to earn your trust the same way that I trust you.
Marissa: Damn you, J.R. [Flings the new briefcase across the bed]
Annie: Hey, what is it?
Scott: It's just what you did, going to bat for me with J.R. I don't know that I deserve it. I am so sorry.
Annie: For what?
Scott: Doubting you like I did. I'll never do it again.
Annie: And I will never doubt you.
J.R.: I didn't get it to upset you.
Marissa: You can't just, you know, buy me an expensive gift and expect me to just forget what's happened.
J.R.: That's not what I'm doing.
Marissa: Your actions have consequences, ok, and consequences can't just be magically erased with a new bag or a heartfelt apology. God, I wish it were that simple.
David: Well, it's good to see you smile again.
Greenlee: Well, I haven't had a lot to smile about lately. Seeing Kendall tonight changed that a little, and I owe it all to you.
David: It was nice to feel like we're on the same side again, as a couple should be. Where is that waiter?
Greenlee: I don't get it.
David: Get what?
Greenlee: How I can feel so angry at you one minute and yet hopeful at the same time.
David: That's how I felt during your recovery. I thought I had lost everything. I hated this place. You gave me hope that I can get it back and come out on top. I want you to feel the same way, Greenlee, because I can do that for you. I know I can.
Greenlee: I'm gonna go use the ladies room while you wait for the waiter.
Ryan: We got to get out of here. Hayward will be back any second, ok? Let's go.
Zach: What are you two doing here?
Kendall: David is blackmailing Greenlee into staying married to him.
Zach: He what?
Ryan: And if Greenlee tries to leave him, then he's gonna incriminate her in Erica's plane crash with some manufactured evidence, ok?
Kendall: Right. Zach, I really did come here because Ryan was sick, but he faked a relapse to get Greenlee to admit what David was doing, so I'll explain the rest to you, but we just have to get out of here. Please, let's go.
Ryan: Let's go. Ok. Just be careful. Look. Kendall did come here for Greenlee, not for me, ok, and if Greenlee was here herself, she would thank you personally.
Kendall: Ok. Well, she's not gonna thank you if David finds you here, so please go. Go.
[Zach clears throat]
Kendall: Zach, I know you're angry with Ryan, but he's right. I am doing this for Greenlee.
Zach: I understand.
Kendall: Just don't blame him, ok?
Zach: Plenty of blame to go around, don't you think?
Colby: Hanging over a 20-story ledge definitely makes you grateful for what you have.
Damon: Well, I don't need that to be grateful. I still got you around. I owe Asher big time for that.
Colby: Well, don't try and offer Asher any money. He doesn't not take handouts.
Damon: I don't think he could afford a hotel room.
Colby: Maybe he was camping out or something.
Damon: Well, I don't know, and I don't care. He saved your life. I don't mind thanking him with a place to crash for the night. You did the same for me not too long ago --
Colby: I did.
Damon: As I remember.
J.R.: I know that this won't fix things. That's not why I bought it. I just wanted to show you something, that I'm still here, that I'm still listening, even when that doesn't always seem like it's the case. I certainly hope it's not.
Marissa: I don't know what you want me to say.
J.R.: Say that you still believe in us enough to give us another shot. Say that you'll move back in with A.J. and me.
Marissa: And then what? Don't you get it, J.R.? It will never be just the three of us anymore.
Scott: Don't act like I'm some kind of angel. I'm not perfect.
Annie: Since when?
Scott: Since I accused you of some pretty nasty things.
Annie: Well, yeah. I mean, I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt a little, you just assuming that I slept with J.R. at the cottage, but it's over. It's done, you know? You know the truth now, and everything is out in the open.
Greenlee: What are you doing here? You should be in the hospital.
Ryan: And you should be happily divorced by now, Greenlee, with nothing to stress about at all instead of stressing about whether your husband is gonna turn you in to the cops or not, ok?
Greenlee: Yeah? Well, I did it to myself. I knew what David was capable of, and I married him, anyway.
Ryan: Well, it's nothing that can't be fixed.
Greenlee: I don't want you worrying about me.
Ryan: I don't stop worrying about you.
Greenlee: You have to.
Ryan: Well, I can't, not until you're free.
Kendall: Ryan figured that whatever David was using to blackmail Greenlee, he had stashed in his safe.
Zach: Do you hear yourself?
Kendall: I know. It's crazy.
Zach: It's not crazy. It's normal. It's Pine Valley, right? You spent a year away from this madness, and now you're telling me you missed it?
Kendall: No. No.
Zach: And the life we have now, is it everything I promised you it would be?
Kendall: Yeah, and then some.
Zach: Ok, and would you honestly say that we've never been happier?
Kendall: I would.
Zach: And here you are again, risking everything.
Greenlee: You know, I came back to Pine Valley, and I did everything I could to push you away, and yet here you are, risking a lot to help me.
Ryan: I'm not risking that much.
Greenlee: Oh, just your health and your safety.
Ryan: You know what? You're right. Maybe I should go.
Greenlee: Ok. All right. Since I can't talk you out of this, you might as well just tell me your plan, or did you try it already?
Ryan: I broke into your room.
Greenlee: You could've just asked for a key, you know?
Ryan: The less that you're involved, the better, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Did you find what you were looking for?
Ryan: No. I found nothing. I was hoping to find something to incriminate David, but I didn't find it. The safe was empty.
Greenlee: You know he could've caught you.
Ryan: He didn't catch me, and plus Kendall was on lookout, so --
Greenlee: Zach is gonna freak out.
Ryan: Well, you're right about that.
Greenlee: He knows?
Ryan: He's here.
Zach: You've been back here five minutes. Already you're swimming in the drama.
Kendall: Zach --
Zach: What? You tell me Ryan is sick, he's not doing well. He looks fine. He's gained a couple of pounds, but he's doing ok. What?
Kendall: My phone. I think I left it in David's room. Zach, if he finds it, Greenlee is in serious trouble.
