Tad: So this is kind of cool. You know, now that you've decided to stick around Pine Valley --

Damon: Would you just say it?

Tad: What?

Damon: Whatever you have set up with -- [As Tad] "This is kind of cool -- "

Tad: I don't sound like that.

Damon: [Normal voice] You do, sometimes.

Tad: Is it that obvious?

Damon: Just spill.

Tad: Ok. Fine, fine, fine. I got a new tutor lined up -- I think I got a new tutor lined up to help you study for your G.E.D.

Damon: Instead of Colby?

Tad: Well, nothing against Colby, but now that you two are, you know, getting kind of serious, I thought it might be --

Damon: That we'd spend all our time studying each other?

Tad: The thought never crossed my mind. So what do you think? Good idea or bad idea?

Damon: I think it's not so good.

Tad: I'm sure that in your book, G.E.D. doesn't stand for "glamorous every day," but it is important.

Damon: "Glamorous every day"?

Tad: You know what I'm talking -- don't --

Damon: Look, the thing is with everything that's gone down lately, my mind hasn't been on books or school or getting a high school diploma.

Tad: I'm sure. A lot has happened. But the good news is now that you are sticking around and, you know, things have started to calm down, you're back on your meds, I figured it's around time to get back in there. You did start back on your meds, didn't you?

Damon: I was gonna tell you later, but I guess you might as well hear it now, ok? I think I'm gonna take a break from the meds.

Annie: Hey. Did you get my message?

Scott: Yeah, I got it.

Annie: You didn't call me back. I mean, J.R. found Palmer's original specs for the nanotech project, Scott. I mean, that's solid proof that you stole it.

Scott: So that's why you were with him?

Annie: Yeah. J.R. called me.

Scott: And you went running.

Annie: What? What is this?

Scott: We had an agreement, Annie -- no more lies.

Annie: No, I -- I know I wasn't completely honest, but what I told you was not a lie. I went to go take care of something for us, for our future.

Scott: Why didn't you just tell me all that when he called? I mean, I was right there when you hung up.

Annie: J.R. said that he had something on you, something that could blow you out of the company, so I didn't want to get you all worked up. It would've made things worse, so I -- I honestly went there alone to protect you.

Scott: So did you and J.R. work everything out?

Annie: What's that supposed to mean?

Scott: I'm not in jail, Annie. You know, the cops are not banging down the door, so I don't know. You must've gotten to him.

Annie: Yeah, yeah, I did.

Scott: Yeah? How? Hmm? What did you do, exactly, to convince J.R. to back off?

Krystal: Ok. Now we can talk. Come on, you got to tell me what happened. What did J.R. do this time?

Marissa: You were right. I should have listened.

Krystal: Well, I don't care about being right. You know, J.R. was here earlier. He said that you didn't show up at the cottage, but he didn't know why.

Marissa: Oh. Yeah, well, I showed up at the cottage, and guess who was there with him.

Krystal: No?

Marissa: Annie. He must've called her, like, the second that I said I wasn't coming.

Krystal: Oh, baby, I am so sorry.

Marissa: Just seeing them through the window, Annie with her hands on his face, and J.R. just couldn't take his eyes off of her.

Krystal: Oh, God, he's a son of a bitch. I tell you, I've always given him the benefit of the doubt, but I will never again. Were he and Annie -- never mind. Its -- that's not important.

Marissa: What, did I catch them in bed? No. But, I mean, I didn't have to. It was the way that they were looking at each other, you know, like they were the last two people left in the world. I almost felt like I was an intruder. It was so strong. And then I just took off.

Krystal: You know what? You're here now, and everything is gonna be fine.

Marissa: No, it isn't. That's not everything that happened.

Krystal: What, there's more?

Marissa: God, I didn't know where to go. So I went home to pack, and Scott was there.

Krystal: And you told him? Well, you both deserve so much more.

Marissa: That's no excuse for what we did.

Krystal: What did you --

Marissa: I slept with Scott.

Krystal: You -- you and Scott?

Marissa: It's not like I planned it. I mean --

[Door opens and J.R. walks in]

Tad: Ok, now, this is a bad idea.

Damon: I figured you'd say that.

Tad: Of course, I'd say that. Why wouldn't I? That medication is helping you.

Damon: Yeah. And now I feel ok. Isn't that what it's for, to get you back on track?

Tad: Exactly.

Damon: Well, I'm back on track. Colby and I are really tight. I'm giving this family thing a shot.

Tad: Yeah, well, part of "giving this whole family thing a shot" is you end up with a whole passel of people who start worrying about you when you make career decisions like going off your meds without telling anybody -- me first and foremost.

Damon: Yeah, I still have the 32 voice mails from when I took off to prove it.

Tad: It's not a joke, ok? It's not funny.

Damon: Look, I'll still do the therapy.

Tad: It's not a question of either/or. It's both/and. Damon, please, the medication was helping you focus, helping you concentrate.

Damon: I think that a big reason I was bouncing off the walls was because my life really sucked. But it's different now, you know? I'm different now, so can you just trust me on this one, please?

Tad: Do I have a choice?

Asher: Hey. Sorry to bother you. I just wanted to know if you'd seen this dog wandering around?

Colby: Um, no, no. I'm sorry. I haven't.

Asher: That's ok. Thank you.

Colby: How long has your dog been missing?

Asher: Oh, it's not my dog. I'm just trying to help this little girl on the other side of the park. She was crying and --

Colby: A little girl crying and -- what? Ha ha ha!

Asher: Ok. So it wasn't a little girl. It was a really hot older girl on rollerblades, wearing a bikini.

Colby: Oh. Poor little puppy, then.

Asher: But she was crying, and, hey, tears are tears, right?

Annie: At first I told J.R. it was my idea to steal Palmer's project.

Scott: Oh. Because you knew he wouldn't turn you in?

Annie: Well, I don't own half of the company he wants, you do.

Scott: But he didn't buy your little story, did he?

Annie: No, but eventually I got through to him.

Scott: Because of your great influence over him?

Annie: I mean, the crisis here is over, and it wasn't really my influence. I just, you know, said to J.R. what could potentially happen here. He doesn't want to jeopardize the company. You know, if anybody finds out that you stole this, it could ruin Chandler. So J.R. agreed it will just stay between the three of us.

Scott: So in your mind, it's all ok now, isn't it?

Annie: Well, yeah. Completely. And we can focus on all the plans to elope and all that good stuff, and it's ok. We don't have anything to worry about anymore.

Scott: Right, right. Nothing. Wow.

Annie: What's going on? What's the matter with you?

Scott: Marissa saw you and J.R.

Annie: At the cottage?

Scott: Yeah.

Annie: Oh. J.R. said he heard a noise outside.

Scott: Mm-hmm.

Annie: Ok. So she saw us. Why didn't she just come in?

Scott: Because, Annie, she didn't want to interrupt your intimate moment.

Annie: "Intimate moment"?

Scott: Yeah.

Annie: You -- you think I had sex with him?

Scott: It's not like it hasn't happened before.

Annie: And I told you it would never happen again.

Scott: So you're telling me -- you're standing right here, and you're telling me that nothing happened?

Annie: No! And damn you for even thinking that!

J.R.: Looks like you closed this place down early.

Krystal: Yeah, well, I wanted a little alone time with my daughter.

J.R.: Yeah? So did I.

Krystal: I think you should've thought about that earlier.

Marissa: Krystal, it's ok. Can you just give us a minute?

Krystal: No.

J.R.: What's going on here?

Marissa: Krystal, please?

Krystal: Ok. I'll leave you two alone. You call my cell if you need me.

Marissa: So, I didn't expect to see you here.

J.R.: How come you didn't come to the beach cottage? I looked all over for you.

Marissa: Wow. You must've been really worried.

J.R.: Of course, I was, especially when I saw all your stuff missing, along with your suitcase?

Marissa: Yeah, and here you planned this romantic getaway just for me.

J.R.: What's going on here? I was worried. I was looking forward to spending time with you.

Marissa: That is all just so much bull! Ok? You weren't thinking about me at the cottage. The only person that you were thinking about was Annie!

Caleb: Whoa. Hmm-hmm.

Krystal: Listen, whatever it is you want, the answer is no. I am really not in a very good mood.

Caleb: Gee. I never would've guessed.

Krystal: Ok. What is it?

Caleb: Nothing. Never mind.

Krystal: No, no, no. Come on. Shoot, shoot.

Caleb: You had your chance. No.

Krystal: Caleb.

Caleb: I'm not in the mood.

Krystal: Hey.

Caleb: What? I want to hire you.

Krystal: To what?

Caleb: To cater a couple of meetings.

Krystal: A couple of meetings? I think I'm gonna need a little bit more information than that.

Caleb: The first meeting's with the guy who's been working with J.R. I'm gonna nail both of them for buying Cortlandt illegally.

Krystal: Well, now you got my attention.

Caleb: But if you're too busy with your family, I understand.

Krystal: No, there's really not much I can do about my family issues. Marissa's made that pretty clear.

Caleb: Ok. Then I'll leave the food up to you. Thank you.

Krystal: Wait, wait, wait. You're gonna need more than food if you're gonna have a real business meeting.

Caleb: All right. Drinks -- whatever.

Krystal: Yeah, drinks will definitely help, but you're gonna have to serve up a little bit more than that. You're gonna have to do something about the way you look.

Tad: You really got me in a bind.

Damon: I'm sorry about that.

Tad: No, I'm serious. You know, I'm not fooling around. You know how badly I want to support you, but do you think that means going along with everything you want, even when I don't think it's in your best interest?

Damon: Yeah. Pretty much.

Tad: Well, dream on. It's not gonna happen, kid.

Damon: You know, most parents want their kids to just say no to drugs.

Tad: Well, most parents aren't talking about prescription medication for ADHD.

Damon: Would you just look at it my way for a second?

Tad: Fine. I'm listening.

Damon: God, it's a lot easier being quiet and angry.

Tad: Yeah, isn't it, though? Take your time.

Damon: What Colby and I have is the real thing. You know what I mean? The real thing.

Tad: I vaguely remember.

Damon: And it happened. It really hit me when I was off the meds, when Liza was feeding me those sugar pills.

Tad: Another thing I have to thank her for.

Damon: Well, it's true.

Tad: Ohh. You can't seriously be implying that you fell in love with Colby, because you went off your medication.

Damon: Not that I fell in love, but it was the first time I was actually able to say it to her. I just want to see what it's like off the meds now that I can really compare life on and off.

Tad: You were only on the sugar pills for no more than two weeks. I seriously doubt going back on your medication is gonna affect things with Colby.

Damon: You can't get it because you're not --

Tad: What, ADHD?

Damon: Well, yeah, but I was gonna say, because you're not in love. But you could be, you know? I'm sure there's, like, a really hot, cool, slightly older woman out there for you.

Tad: Why -- how did we turn this around on me?

Damon: What if I hook you up with some really cool web sites?

Tad: Are you insane? You really think I want to leave something like that lying around for the girls to find in the house?

Damon: Not those kind of web sites.

Tad: You mean like computer dating?

Damon: Yeah, for dudes over 40.

Tad: I can't believe I'm having this conversation.

Damon: I know your generation probably didn't go that route. God, you probably didn't have computers back then.

Tad: No. We were too busy making fire.

Damon: Well, I'm just saying these days, nobody thinks it's uncool to search the web for, like, whatever.

Tad: Yeah. That's all I need, is, like, a 5'10" "whatever." I can't believe I'm -- we're discussing this.

Damon: Look, maybe I don't know everything about relationships or about anything else, but, you know, I -- I just want you to be happy. That's all.

Tad: That's all I want for you, too, son.

Colby: If I see the lost dog, I will call the really hot girl on her rollerblades. That's the number there, right there, right?

Asher: Yeah.

Colby: And I'll give you full credit, as well.

Asher: Thanks. You really went all out.

Colby: Yeah, I did.

Asher: A lot of food for just one person.

Colby: Oh. Well, actually, that's a good thing. My boyfriend -- he has an enormous appetite, so it's all for him.

Asher: Well, have fun, and I better back looking for this dog.

Colby: Yeah, I will totally keep my eye out for the dog.

Asher: Great.

Colby: Ok.

Asher: See you.

Colby: Bye.

Annie: I made a pledge to you -- no more lying, no more sleeping around -- and I have kept my promise.

Scott: So you're saying Marissa's lying?

Annie: Or she's a drama queen always going to the worst possible place.

Scott: She didn't make this up. She was a wreck when she got home!

Annie: Of course, she was, because she's created this whole scenario in her head!

Scott: She's not delusional, Annie! She knows what she saw.

Annie: Really? Then what did she see? Tell me! Please tell me what she saw. We didn't kiss. We didn't have sex. Not one article of clothing came off my body.

Scott: Yeah? You were close, right? Huh? You were intense. You were touching his face!

Annie: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Are you kidding me? If Marissa would spend a second not feeling sorry for herself, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

Scott: I am not going to stand here and listen to you attack Marissa.

Annie: Now you're defending Marissa?

Scott: Yeah, because she's been hurt! Because she's a good person who doesn't deserve what she's been through.

Annie: As opposed to me?

Scott: I didn't say that!

Annie: You didn't have to. You're taking Marissa's word when you're not even considering that there's any other explanation!

Scott: Such as?

Annie: Such as if Marissa had any guts, she would've come in and seen that the intensity she saw -- that was for you, Scott, not J.R.!

Scott: What? For me? What --

Annie: Yes. What Marissa witnessed was me going to the beach house to try to convince J.R. to cover up your crime. I was protecting you. I was protecting our family and this company, ok? That is the truth. How are you gonna marry me if you can't even trust me?

Marissa: So did Annie enjoy the cottage?

J.R.: How did you -- the noise that I heard outside --

Marissa: Was your wife. Yeah, who you were so concerned about, but you were obviously more than ready to be with your girlfriend.

J.R.: What? You thought that I --

Marissa: I saw it, J.R.!

J.R.: I don't care what it looked like. I swear to you --

Marissa: Ok, just don't! Really, if you lie to me again, I swear to God --

J.R.: I am not lying to you! I am telling you the truth! Now, Marissa, Annie and I weren't together, not that way. What happened --

Marissa: Ok, just spare me the details.

J.R.: No, nothing happened! Ok? Nothing! You have to know that. I love you.

Marissa: You know, maybe you really do believe that. Because I was there for you after Babe died, and because I took care of you when you got sick. But you know what? That's gratitude, ok? It's not love.

J.R.: You could not be more wrong.

Marissa: No, I really don't think that I am.

J.R.: Because I would be lost without you.

Marissa: No, you wouldn't. Ok? You might miss me for a little while, because I take care of things for you, but the woman that you're lost without isn't me, J.R. It's Annie.

Caleb: I don't know what you think you're gonna do here.

Krystal: Well, you said that J.R. doesn't believe anybody takes you seriously.

Caleb: They will soon enough.

Krystal: Maybe I can make that happen sooner.

Caleb: And how would you do that?

Krystal: How about a trim and a shave?

Caleb: Why are you doing this?

Krystal: Well, for starters, you said you wanted to teach J.R. a lesson, and the truth is I am hell-bent on helping you do that.

Caleb: Nothing as fierce as a mother protecting her baby, huh?

Scott: I don't want to call off our wedding.

Annie: So now you're saying you believe me?

Scott: It's just a lot to take in all at once, everything that happened, because I -- can I have a few minutes?

Annie: To do what? Scott, I am telling you nothing happened between me and J.R. at the cottage. You either believe me or you don't.

Scott: It's not that simple.

Annie: Yes, it is that simple.

Scott: No. When Marissa came home --

Annie: Oh, I don't want to hear any more about how upset Marissa was. This has nothing to do with Marissa. This is about you and me. This is about us, Scott.

Scott: This isn't just about us.

Annie: I thought we had something special.

Scott: Oh, we do.

Annie: I thought we were gonna get married and start this incredible life together, because you were the only person in the world who doesn't think the worst of me. And then one silly misunderstanding of Marissa's, and you think I'm gonna throw our life away for sex?

Scott: No, no. Ok, I'm sorry.

Annie: That doesn't make it all better.

Scott: I was wrong.

Annie: You were so wrong. I went to that cottage for you. Because I believed in us when you couldn't.

J.R.: What you saw, what you think you saw --

Marissa: It doesn't matter.

J.R.: Of course, it matters. This is our marriage that we're talking about. And I have some really big things going on at the company right now --

Marissa: Of course, you do.

J.R.: And I'm trying to explain it to you, ok? Scott -- I just found some things out about him, things that are gonna change everything, and I'm gonna be forced to take some actions.

Marissa: And what does this have to do with me, exactly?

J.R.: Because you're gonna be by my side -- when I finally get to stand where I belong: At the top of Chandler, alone.

Marissa: "Alone"?

J.R.: Alone with my wife and A.J.

Marissa: Yeah. Well, maybe if you knew --

J.R.: Knew what?

Marissa: Just how messed up everything is.

J.R.: I know this. I've made huge mistakes, but I'm telling you I really didn't this time.

Marissa: What if I was the one who made a huge mistake?

Damon: Sorry I'm late. I was having a long talk with my dad.

Colby: Oh! I like the sound of you calling Tad "Dad."

Damon: Yeah. To Dad.

Colby: To Dad. Ha ha ha! So aren't you glad we came back?

Damon: Yeah. Yeah, I am.

Colby: Me, too.

Damon: This is pretty sweet.

Colby: Mm-hmm. Well, Lucretia did the cooking, but I did the menu and I did the tablecloth. Hey, do you think you could get a double major in picnic planning and fashion design?

Damon: I don't think picnic planning is a -- "major"? As in back to school?

Colby: Yeah. I was kind of thinking about going back to P.V.U. But I don't -- what do you think?

Damon: I think you should go for it.

Colby: Yeah. I'm totally gonna go for it.

Damon: Go for it.

[Leaf blower runs]

Colby: Oh-ho-ho. This is really romantic.

Damon: What?

Colby: I said it's really romantic -- the leaf blowers!

Damon: Yeah, it's pretty loud.

Colby: So do you want some?

Damon: What?

Colby: So what did you and Tad -- what did you guys talk about?

Damon: Huh?

Colby: What did you and Tad -- what did you talk about?

Damon: Oh. How much I love you.

Colby: What?

Damon: I love you.

Colby: Oh, me, too!

Damon: Meet you where?

Colby: No, no, no! I -- I love you! I love you!

Damon: Cool!

Colby: Hey, do you want to get out of here and find another place?

Damon: Have a beer?

Colby: No, no! Get out of here, find another place. The leaf blower -- we need to get out of here.

Damon: No, let's get out of here.

Colby: Ok!

Krystal: You're gonna be running Cortlandt once you take it back from J.R.

Caleb: I'm glad you didn't say "if."

Krystal: Well, unlike J.R., I don't underestimate you.

Caleb: Oh, I'm gonna run it.

Krystal: Yeah, you are. And when Erica gets back, you're gonna run it together.

Caleb: Yeah, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Krystal: [Chuckles] Ok, just relax, all right? I used to cut Babe's hair all the time.

Caleb: Who's Babe?

Krystal: Babe is my other daughter. She died.

Caleb: I'm sorry. What happened?

Krystal: You want to know? Well, there was a tornado a couple years ago, and it was pretty hard on Pine Valley. And Babe and her son got trapped underneath some wreckage. Little A.J. was buried underneath his mother, and we didn't know if he was dead or alive. And the only way we could help him was to move Babe and that beam that was on top of her. But if we did that, the chances were that she wouldn't make it. Babe insisted. What you said earlier, about there not being anything as fierce as a mother -- that was Babe. She was fierce. She gave up her life to save her little boy.

Caleb: [Looks at a picture of Babe] Hmm. Wow. Very pretty, just like her mom.

Krystal: I think about her every day. I try to remember all the good times we shared instead of how it all ended.

Caleb: If you can do that, you're a better person than I am.

Marissa: You love this idea of me, ok, of our marriage. It's like I'm this angel that's here to save you.

J.R.: But that's exactly what you did.

Marissa: But I can't anymore, ok? I just can't. You have to realize that there's a time to move on.

J.R.: No. No, I would never accept that.

[Phone rings]

Marissa: Hello?

Scott: It's me. It's Scott. Listen, I'm at home. Can you get over here now?

Marissa: Why? What's wrong?

Scott: It's about what happened at the cottage. Just come on home, ok?

Marissa: Fine. I'll be right there.

J.R.: Some kind of problem?

Marissa: I have to go. I can't do this --

J.R.: Now, Marissa, just wait a second.

Marissa: Just leave me alone, ok? Just leave me alone.

J.R.: I didn't do anything this time. I've just messed up so much, she automatically assumes I have.

Tad: Just a second. Don't tell me what she assumes, just tell me what happened.

J.R.: I was at the beach cottage with Annie, and Marissa showed up outside.

Tad: What do you mean, you were with Annie? You know how bad she is for your life. What do you mean, you were with her? Like, "with her" with her?

J.R.: No! Not "with her" like that. We both agreed to do the right thing.

Tad: So even though Marissa didn't see something, she feels like she did?

J.R.: So how do I fix it if she doesn't want to listen to me?

Tad: I don't know why she should, J.R. Honestly, I'm sorry. My heart bleeds, but all she ever does is listen to you, and all she ever does is get hurt. Words aren't gonna mean anything this time. You want to earn your way out of this one, you're gonna do it the hard way.

Annie: J.R., everything is falling apart. We have to do something. Oh. I'm sorry.

Tad: Oh, that's enough. You know what? I've had it with you two. Sit down. Sit down and shut up. I mean it. You two are a walking disaster area, ok? I have no idea how you're gonna settle your love lives, either together or apart, and I don't really care. The only thing I want to say is you remember you've got kids that are involved, kids that look up to you. So everything you do, every decision you make from here on out is going to affect them. Stop fooling around and get it right.

Caleb: You've been through it, haven't you?

Krystal: Well, yeah, I guess there have been times when I wanted to just give it all up and live on top of some mountain.

Caleb: It's overrated.

Krystal: You're starting to like Pine Valley.

Caleb: I didn't say that. But living in the past is no way to live.

Krystal: Well, then you know what? I think we have postponed the inevitable long enough. Get over here.

Caleb: This is for you, Uncle Pete. Be gentle. Hold on one second here.

Damon: Whoa! Ooh! It's amazing.

Colby: Yeah. My dad brought me here when I first got back to Pine Valley.

Damon: Oh, man, you can see the whole city.

Colby: He made me stand at the edge of the ledge, and he held me really, really tight, and he made me look out over his domain. "The Chandler Empire," he told me. He said this must be what a king feels like when he looks out over his kingdom. What are you doing? Damon!

Damon: Hello, Pine Valley! I thought you should know I'm in love with Colby Chandler!

Colby: Damon, get down! You're gonna get hurt!

Damon: Whoo! That was fun.

Colby: Yeah, until you go splat on the ground.

Damon: Yeah, your dad's right. It's like looking at the whole world out there.

Colby: Like you're a king?

Damon: Yeah. Well, I feel that way when I'm with you. What?

Colby: I think I left my sweater in the car.

Damon: I'll get it.

Colby: You don't have to do that.

Damon: Yeah, it's like boyfriend 101 -- I'll get your sweater. Be right back.

J.R.: He's right, you know.

Annie: I don't need Tad lecturing me about my daughter.

J.R.: He wasn't lecturing.

Annie: Especially when we did nothing wrong.

J.R.: This time. Did you tell Scott that I know that he stole Uncle Palmer's invention?

Annie: You said you wouldn't hurt him.

J.R.: I said I wasn't gonna turn him in.

Annie: J.R.

J.R.: You know what? Scott and I need to have a little talk.

Annie: Not right now, ok? This is not the time to be attacking Scott. You have a marriage to save.

J.R.: Marissa saw us. She thought that we were --

Annie: I know. She told Scott. I really want to be with Scott, but this is always so hard.

J.R.: Yeah. Well, we need to face Marissa and Scott together. The four of us need to have this out.

Marissa: Are you telling me that you believe her?

Scott: Listen to me, ok? Annie left me a voice mail telling me that she was at the cottage with J.R. Why would she do that if they were having an affair?

Marissa: I don't know how her twisted mind works.

Scott: I think you were wrong.

Marissa: No, you just want to believe that they didn't have sex.

Scott: No, I do believe it.

Marissa: Fine. Fine. If you want to live in denial, that's fine, but I am so way past that point right now. And I don't see why we shouldn't just put it all out in the open: Tell Annie and J.R. exactly what we did.

Caleb: I never could get this stupid cufflink thing.

Krystal: Wow!

Caleb: Could you do that for me? What?

Krystal: You clean up great. Wow! You look awesome. What do you think?

Caleb: It feels horrible.

Krystal: Really? Have you even looked at yourself?

Caleb: No. Don't want to.

Krystal: Ok, no, come on. You're going to. Come on, Caleb. Get over here.

Caleb: Mirrors are for girls.

Krystal: Ahh. Huh? Palmer Cortlandt would be mighty proud of the finished product.

Caleb: I'm not finished. I'm just getting started.

Tad: You ever stop worrying about them?

Opal: About your kids? No, never. They may be fully grown parents themselves, and they still give you gray hair. Well, I work with mine, but --

Tad: You know you don't have to worry about me.

Opal: Well, I'd be happier if you were married and in some heart-throbbing love.

Tad: Oh, Lord. You must've been talking to Damon.

Opal: Not enough, I'm afraid. I'd be happier if he would open up to me a little more, too.

Tad: Oh, he will. You just got to give him some time, that's all. In any case, now that he's in love, he thinks I should investigate computer dating.

Opal: Well, so long as her name ain't "Liza."

Tad: He also, in all of his wisdom, decided to go off his meds.

Opal: That is something to worry about.

Tad: He thinks he's fine.

Opal: And you know better. So all you can do is just keep talking. Do not stop talking, and hope that eventually, if you're lucky, he'll listen.

Tad: What, like J.R.?

Opal: You're such a wonderful father, though, Tad. You care. You listen. And that Damon is turning out to be a really fine young man, thanks to his daddy.

Tad: I love you, too, Mom.

Colby: I love Damon Miller. I love Damon Miller. You hear that, Pine Valley?! I love Damon Miller! [Screams as the railing gives way, and Asher grabs her]

Scott: You want to tell Annie and J.R. that we slept together? Why?

Marissa: Because I'm tired of all these lies.

Scott: But it turns out they weren't lying to us. Hey, we're the ones who should be feeling guilty. We jumped to the wrong conclusion about them. Annie was torn up that I didn't believe her.

Marissa: And you think that I should care about Annie's feelings?

Scott: She has been hurt so many times. Every man in her life has let her down.

Annie: Now she's finally found her Prince Charming, and what does she do? She cheats on you.

Scott: I don't believe that she did! Come on, she loves me and she trusts me, and I want to be the one guy that comes through for her.

Marissa: I don't really believe that Annie can love anybody except for Annie.

Scott: Ok, forget about Annie, then, all right? Do this for me, huh? I can't lose her, Marissa. Please do not tell Annie and J.R. about us.

[J.R. and Annie walk in]
