Bellhop: Is the room satisfactory, Mr. Lavery?

Ryan: Yeah. It looks great, thank you. Here you go. Ok.

Bellhop: I'll take you to your room now, Mrs. Hayward.

Greenlee: Actually, I'm gonna stay here to work. You can take my bag to my room, thank you.

Bellhop: Very good.

Ryan: Listen, I know that you're very anxious to salvage the packaging for the new line, but you didn't sleep on the plane. And if you need to go up and take a nap --

Greenlee: And this meeting will determine whether I get Fusion back or not, so there's no way I'm going to be able to sleep until it's over. Besides, we've wasted way too much time already.

Ryan: Whatever you say.

Greenlee: Ohh.

Ryan: What is it? Greenlee, what's wrong?

David: Meet your new boss.

Jake: What are you talking about?

David: I just bought the hospital.

Jake: Is this some sort of joke?

David: No, no, it's no joke, Jake. I now own controlling shares of Pine Valley Hospital, giving me majority-voting power.

Jake: I don't believe a word that comes out of your mouth.

David: Ok. Well, here it is. It's all right here. Take a look.

Angie: And who did you blackmail to make this happen?

David: The deal is completely legit.

Jake: You don't know the meaning of the word "legit."

David: Ok, you know, I'll tell you what. If you have a problem with this, take it up with your father. It was his recent decision to vacate his board seat, along with Adam Chandler and Palmer Cortlandt, that made this coup possible. The hospital was in desperate need of funding. Apparently, there's been some gross mismanagement under its current chief of staff.

Angie: You pig.

David: Ha. Look, don't worry about it. I intend to weigh in on everything from patient care to what kind of gelatin is being used in the cafeteria. Personally, I like strawberry.

Jake: You're not gonna get away with this.

David: I already have, Doctor, and that's a term I use lightly. But since I have no confidence whatsoever that either one of you is gonna be a team player under my reign, I strongly suggest that you tender your resignations sooner rather than later.

Janet: Oh, sweetheart. Oh, I knew you would come. I knew you wouldn't let your old mama suffer like this all alone. You know, I think that what I wrote on that trophy that I made for you was really true: You are the world's best daughter!

Amanda: The reason I came is to say good-bye, for good this time.

J.R.: It's over, Annie! It's over, Annie.

Annie: Get off me! Get off me!

Scott: Annie, calm down. Calm down. It's me, Scott. Annie, can you hear me?

Annie: Scott?

Scott: Yeah. Who'd you think it was?

Annie: Uh, no one.

Scott: Ok, come on. Let's get you up. Come on.

Annie: Ohh.

Scott: Come on, come on. You can do it. Attagirl. Ok, right here. Right here.

Annie: Ooh.

Scott: Whoo.

Annie: Oh, my God.

Scott: You ok?

Annie: J.R. tricked me. He drugged me. I'm gonna go find him. I am not letting him get away with this. Whoa!

Scott: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Annie: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Ohh.

Marissa: If you were ready to take a drink, then it must be serious.

J.R.: It is.

Marissa: Tell me.

J.R.: You know that I love you.

Marissa: I love you, too. J.R., what is it?

J.R.: I never wanted to hurt you. That was the last thing that I wanted. I've done something, something bad.

Marissa: Tell me. What did you do? God, you're starting to scare me.

J.R.: All I was trying to do is protect my father, to protect our family.

Marissa: From what?

J.R.: Annie.

Marissa: Oh, my God, again with Annie. Why can't you just let her go, J.R.?

J.R.: Because she's gonna suck this family dry if we don't get rid of her. And that's what I had to show my father. That's what I tried to prove to him, once and for all, that Annie did not love him the way that she claimed to. She never did. So I thought if I could record her doing something incriminating, my father would finally see her for the parasite that she really is. And all I was going for was for her to admit that she wanted me.

Marissa: "Wanted you"?

J.R.: Yes.

Marissa: So did she admit it?

J.R.: But it went too far.

Marissa: How far? Say it, J.R.!

J.R.: I slept with Annie.

Annie: I should've never taken that drink from J.R. Ooh. He played me the fool once before. I was so stupid to let it happen again.

Scott: Ok, just forget that now. Just rest.

Annie: No, I don't want to rest. I want to find Marissa and tell her what a piece of garbage she's married to.

Scott: Well, you might be a little late for that. J.R.'s supposedly telling her everything as we speak.

Annie: No. He doesn't have the guts.

Scott: He sounded pretty resolved.

Annie: Well, that's just great. If J.R. does tell Marissa, he's gonna put a spin on the story that makes me look like the villain and saves his ass.

Scott: He doesn't want to lose her, Annie.

Annie: Well, maybe he should've thought about that before he had sex with me. And now he thinks he can just toss me off like a piece of trash? I don't think so.

Scott: I'm not defending my cousin here, but you're not exactly a victim in all of this.

Annie: What? What do you call being drugged and left to die?

Scott: He didn't leave you to die. And weren't you blackmailing J.R.?

Annie: I was just trying to protect myself.

Scott: You should've known that was only gonna make things worse.

Annie: Are you seriously saying this is my fault?

Scott: Seduction is never one-sided. You and I both know that.

Janet: We love each other. We need each other.

Amanda: I do love you, Mom. And I know in your own way that you love me.

Janet: Now, that doesn't sound like a reason for cutting someone out of your life!

Amanda: But it's what you do with that love. You turn it into something dark and twisted, and it somehow always ends up out of control.

Janet: I know. I know I have made mistakes. I know, but it usually only happens when you turn your back on me.

Amanda: It's the only way I can survive.

Janet: What about me? What about me, though? Amanda, you are my only reason for living. From the moment that you were born, I have loved you with every fiber of my being, with every --

Amanda: Mom, it's too much.

Janet: It is never too much. You can never love a child too much! I mean, look at you! It's the way you love Trevor. You cannot tell me, you -- don't deny it. Every mother is crazy in love with her child. And if you think you are not like me, then you are lying to yourself.

David: You know what? To prove to you that I am sensitivity personified, I have gone out of my way to spare you the humiliation of going to personnel by having these resignation forms already drawn up.

Jake: No, we're not going anywhere. Not till we figure out where your lies begin and where they end.

[PDA chirps]

David: Hmm. Good luck with that.

Jake: Oh. Look at this. A patient needs me. Do you remember how that feels, Dave? I didn't think so. I'll talk to you.

Angie: You know what you are? You're a cockroach. That's what you are. You get stepped on and then blasted with every insecticide from here to kingdom come, and you just keep skittering right back.

David: Oh, Angela, Angela. Heh heh heh. No one sucks up quite like you do.

Angie: Oh, thank you. You know, you can buy up all the controlling shares you want, but nothing will erase your crimes or reinstate your medical license.

David: I've already accepted that.

Angie: Oh, have you?

David: Yes. I have bigger things to think about now. But what you need to think about, Angela, is that I am here to stay. Can you honestly say the same thing?

Angie: Why don't you just fire me?

David: Well, for some reason, my wife seems to have a soft spot for both you and Martin. Don't ask me why -- don't get it, never will. But be forewarned. If you decide to stay on as chief of staff, I am gonna do everything in my power to grind you into the ground. So give this some serious thought, Chief. And don't worry about leaving the hospital high and dry. I have somebody waiting in the wings ready to step in in a moment's notice. [Chuckles]

Ryan: Why do you do it?

Greenlee: What?

Ryan: Shut me out. I mean, it's very obvious to me that there is something wrong.

Greenlee: Nothing's wrong. I just, ahem, remembered something I meant to tell Madison about some work I left behind, that's all.

Ryan: Really? So you want to call her?

Greenlee: No. It can wait.

Ryan: Hey, look, I'm all for diving into work, I really am, except I'm starving. So how about you?

Greenlee: I'm good.

Ryan: Are you sure?

Greenlee: Stop pretending like you care. The only reason you're here is to help Kendall.

Ryan: And the only reason you're helping Kendall is to try and keep Fusion. Now, the last meal we had was on the plane, which was hours ago. I think it would be a really, really bad thing if you passed out in the middle of our meeting with Bahia Cosmetics.

Greenlee: Fine. I'll have yogurt. No. Soup -- broth and tea.

Ryan: Are you sure?

Greenlee: Yes.

Janet: You are so lucky to have a mother who loves you so much, the same way Trevor is lucky to have you.

Amanda: Ok, enough about Trevor.

Janet: No! Never enough about the grandson! He's my grandson, and it is my job as your mother to show you what it is you are too young to see.

Amanda: I see just fine.

Janet: Oh, honey! Oh, you are so much like me: No one's gonna tell you how to raise your son.

Amanda: I am not like you.

Janet: Oh, honey, yes, you are. I have seen you. You love with your whole heart. You just wait. As Trevor gets older, all your love for him is just gonna grow, and it's gonna get bigger and it's gonna get better just like mine did for you. And you're gonna want him to have everything that he deserves, and you will do whatever it takes to make sure that he gets it.

Amanda: I will not do to Trevor what you did to me.

Janet: Everything I did for you I did out of love.

Amanda: You killed my father!

Janet: That was necessary.

Amanda: How can you say that? My dad never did anything to deserve what you did to him! He was the best father and the best parent any girl could ever ask for. And I loved him so much, and I still miss him, Mom.

Janet: That's why he had to die, because you loved him more than you loved me!

Amanda: What?

Janet: It's true. You called him more and you went to visit him more, and, you know, I would just be wasting away in those snake pits waiting for you! I missed you so much I didn't think I could even breathe without you! And then when I finally did find a way to come back to Pine Valley just to be with you, what did you do? You begged Daddy dear! You begged him to protect you from me! From me, your own mother! No, Amanda. No. It is your fault that your father had to die, because you just did not love me enough.

Greenlee: Whew. A splash of cold water does wonders for jetlag.

Ryan: Glad to hear it.

Greenlee: Yeah. Let's get to work.

Ryan: Ok. Well, like I suggested on the plane, I think the best strategy to deal with the Bahia people is to suggest alternative packaging, packaging that's gonna enhance their product while at the same time allow you to use what you already have in place for Fusion Natural. Right? And if they go for it, and I really believe they will, I think that you're gonna be able to make your launch date and have a fair shot at getting Fusion back. So what do you think? Greenlee? Hey. You're in bad shape, aren't you?

Greenlee: I think better lying down, that's all.

Ryan: Since when?

Greenlee: Since the first thing Solana's gonna ask about is alternative packaging and what we're talking about, we should probably come up with a few options.

Ryan: Ok. Well, my first thought, my first idea, was something green. You know, something environmental. Something like recycled paper packaging and natural-dye labels to sort of, like, appeal to their social conscience a little bit, and I think they're gonna love it. Why wouldn't they love something like that? Because it would be really performing a public service and at the same time maybe turning a profit.

Greenlee: Would you stop?

Ryan: Why? I thought you would kind of dig the whole environmental stance.

Greenlee: What I don't "dig" is you pacing back and forth. You're making me sick.

Ryan: What is going on with you?

Greenlee: I'm fine. See? Ooh.

Ryan: You're not fine. Look at you.

[Knock on door]

Ryan: That's the room service, ok? I want you to stay put. Don't move.

Bellhop: Would you like me to set up?

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, sure. Go ahead.

Annie: Unbelievable. You find me drugged up by your cousin and then basically call me a whore?

Scott: That is not at all what I said.

Annie: Just so you know, J.R. came on to me.

Scott: Really? Are you saying he forced himself on you?

Annie: No, he didn't force himself on me. But, yes, I went for it, ok? He took advantage of me. He worked the connection we had.

Scott: What connection?

Annie: I sacrificed part of my body to save his life, so we're forever connected. [Sighs]

Scott: Oh, my God.

Annie: What?

Scott: You have feelings for him, don't you?

Annie: Yes, ok, I do. But he was cruel, and he played on those feelings, and I was stupid, and I fell for it. God help me, I fell for him.

Marissa: Aah! You slept with Annie?!

J.R.: I'm so sorry.

Marissa: But you said you hated her.

J.R.: I did. I wasn't thinking.

Marissa: At all or just about us?! My God. Oh, my God, how could you do that? You know, when I first met you, I was in such a bad place. And when we finally got together, it was like we had saved each other.

J.R.: We did. We did. If I didn't have you, I don't know if I would've survived.

Marissa: You almost died! You know, when I sat at your bedside and said good-bye to you, I knew that I was saying good-bye to the love of my life! I adopted your son! And then a miracle happened and you made it, J.R. We made it. We had a chance at something so wonderful.

J.R.: We do. I love you. I don't want to lose you.

Marissa: No, it is too late. You killed that chance. You killed us.

Scott: Maybe it's the drugs that has you turning this into some trashy romance novel, but even you have to admit this is getting a little confusing. First, Adam was the love of your life, and then you come on to me, and now you're falling for J.R.

Annie: You were different, special.

Scott: Oh, no, no, no. We are not going there again.

Annie: You know, I really thought you would have some compassion.

Scott: All I am saying, Annie, is that you are throwing out a lot of love in a bunch of different directions.

Annie: I've been drawn to all of you for who you are and what you're a part of -- this amazing, unique family. I mean, you're all really messed up for sure and definitely have your own issues, but you're also driven and committed and passionate. And even when you're all up against each other, you still somehow end up protecting one another.

Scott: It doesn't always feel that way.

Annie: I was never a part of that. I never had that growing up: Unconditional love and support. That's what I want. I want that for myself and for Emma.

Scott: I don't think sleeping with your husband's son was the way to go about getting it.

Annie: I know I messed up, ok? I know I messed up. What do you want me to do? You think I should just cut my losses and walk away?

Scott: You may not have a choice.

Annie: I can't leave. I still want to be part of the Chandlers, to love and be loved by all of you. And the thing is you all try to resist me, but in the end, you all end up wanting me, too.

J.R.: I did hate Annie. I still do. But right now I hate myself even more. I was so determined to get her out of our lives I ended up hurting the person that I --

Marissa: Just stop it! Just stop it! I cannot listen to any more! It is too late, J.R. It's over.

J.R.: No, don't say that! Look, I made a mistake, ok? I made a huge, horrible mistake! It will never happen again.

Marissa: It happened! God, the thought of you and -- I have to go.

J.R.: No, please. Please don't leave me. I can work this out. We can work this out.

Marissa: What? By pretending that it didn't happen? Maybe you can do that. Obviously, you've been doing it! I can't. [Sobs]

A.J.: Why are you crying?

Jesse: Hey, baby, what's up? I came as soon as I got your message.

Angie: I'm going crazy! You know what? I almost think you better lock me up or something, because I am this close to murdering that trifling-ass David Hayward!

Greenlee's voice: You're completely overreacting.

David's voice: Huh. Really? To which part? My wife heading off to Rio with her ex or the fact that she didn't tell me about it?

Greenlee: Both.

[Ryan sighs]

Ryan: Hey, don't bite my head off for asking. I just want to make sure that you're ok.

Greenlee: No, I'm not. I'm sick, and I don't get sick.

Ryan: Then why don't you go try lying down again, ok?

Greenlee: No. There's too much to do.

Ryan: I've already prepped for the meeting. I can present to Solana and the boys, ok, while you stay here. You just take care of yourself and rest.

Greenlee: I'm not gonna let whatever this is keep me from that meeting. Whew. Oh, my God, this can't be happening.

Ryan: I'm calling a doctor.

Greenlee: No, I don't need a doctor. I remember the last time I felt like this. I can't go through it again. I just can't.

Ryan: Go through what again?

Greenlee: I can't be pregnant.

Amanda: I will never love the way that you do.

Janet: You make it sound like a bad thing.

Amanda: Well, that's the way it feels.

Janet: Well, just have no idea how good you've got it.

Amanda: "Good"? Good love does not go around waving a gun around and hurting and killing people. Love is pure and safe and secure, and it's what I have with Jake and Trevor. And when it becomes an obsession like it does with you, Mom, love dies.

Janet: No, that's just not true. It could never die because you're my child!

Amanda: And I have tried to love you. I have tried, but it's never enough. So -- so I'm done.

Janet: What are you saying?

Amanda: Good-bye.

Janet: No, you can't. You cannot cut me off.

Amanda: Let go of me.

Janet: You cannot do this because I am a part of you! I will always be a part of you just like you are a part of Trevor forever and ever! And you love him just as fiercely as I love you because, like it or not, baby girl, you are your mother's daughter! Oh, my God, my head! Oh, God!

Jake: All right, the patient's had a seizure. Pick up the nasal can. You'll set it up with 4 liters of O2. And then I want you to draw up 2 milligrams of lorazepam for an IV push. And when you're done, I want you to call for a neuro consult, ok? Get an IV of keppra going, run it over 20 minutes.

Jesse: This man is like a cockroach. You just can't kill him. He just keeps coming at you.

Angie: I said the same thing.

Jesse: Liza -- I bet you this is what she's gloating about, huh?

Angie: I have no doubt that Liza's the one that helped David pull this off. And now he's back, ready to use his new power to dismantle everything I've done.

Jesse: I should've taken that man out when I had the chance.

Angie: Oh, God, Jesse, what am I gonna do? How will I stay in this position knowing that I have to deal with him?

Jesse: Let's just take this one small victory at a time. At least, thanks to you, David will never, ever be able to practice medicine legally again. Not ever.

Greenlee: It's not possible. Well, it is, but -- we're here to work, so let's work.

Ryan: You don't have to.

Greenlee: I'm fine.

Ryan: No, you're not fine, Greenlee. You're not. You're sick as a dog, ok? You need to let me go take this meeting. And you stay here --

Greenlee: No, no, no, I need to work. I need to work, because if I don't, I'll start thinking, and I can't think. Because if I do, if I am -- if I am pregnant, I already know I can't carry to term. I lost our baby, and I can't go through that again.

[Phone rings]

Greenlee: Ahem. Hello, David.

David: Hey. I wasn't sure you'd answer. I called your room and -- but you weren't there.

Greenlee: I was probably checking in. The flight was delayed. We got in later than expected.

David: Oh. Is everything all right? You seem a bit, I don't know, strange.

Greenlee: Just tired. Look, I need to prep for this meeting. I'll call you later, ok?

Annie: Ohh.

Scott: You sure you're ok to leave?

Annie: Yeah. Yeah. I'm just gonna need a ride home.

Scott: I'm not so sure that's a good idea. I told you, if J.R. followed through with what he said he was going to do, then Marissa knows about the two of you.

Annie: I can handle Marissa.

Scott: Yeah, I don't think that she can handle you, and she shouldn't have to. The kindest thing to do right now is to stay away.

Annie: Wow. You know, I am so sick of hearing that. My entire life I've been pushed aside or ignored. It's just so unfair. You don't know what that feels like. You had a father who didn't even know the definition of the word "cruel." You have no idea what it's like to always feel like you're this burden or you're unwanted.

Scott: My father was an incredible man. I was very lucky. I know.

Annie: Well, I wasn't, and I deserve that. I deserve to feel wanted. I know that I've done some really, really horrible things, ok, but it doesn't mean that I don't deserve to be loved. I do, and I will not give up until everybody sees that.

Marissa: I was crying because I have to go away. I just need to figure out a few things.

A.J.: Can I come with you?

Marissa: Oh, sweetheart, this is something I need to do on my own.

A.J.: But you're coming back, right?

Marissa: I'm not sure. But I will still see you, and we'll spend lots of time together.

A.J.: I don't want you to go.

J.R.: Hey, buddy? I'll still be here.

Marissa: Look, I want you to know that no matter what happens, I love you, and I always will.

J.R.: We both will.

A.J.: You love each other, too, right?

Marissa: I'll see you soon. I promise, ok?

Jake: Amanda witnessed the seizure, said that she was complaining her head was hurting, and she started to shake. I'm assuming it's a CVA, but I haven't done a full assessment.

Neurologist: I'll take care of that. We won't know the extent of the damage or whether she'll recover at all until she wakes from the sedation, and then we'll be able to run more tests.

Jake: Great. Thank you. Honey, she's in the best of hands. He's amazing, ok? Let's get you home.

Janet: Ohh.

Angie: You know, maybe I could go back to practicing. I mean, it's not like I haven't missed the patient interaction.

Jesse: You know that's not what you really want. You shouldn't even consider it.

Angie: Oh, baby, I know. I know you're right. I mean, what kind of message would that be sending to the entire staff? They are already dreading the fact that David could be in charge.

Jesse: You are the only person I'm concerned about.

Angie: I appreciate that, sweetheart, I do. You know, these people have put their entire trust in me to do right by them, and if I walk away now, it'll be like checking out on them when they need me the most. And if nothing else, I have to stay on as chief of staff to show people that I am not going to cave in to David's bullying and neither should they.

Jesse: There she is. That's the girl I married right there, and I'm behind you 100%. You hear me?

Angie: Yeah. Oh, you better be, because it all sounds good in theory. It might not be so easy to pull off when I have to be face to face with that idiot.

David: What part of "it's urgent" didn't you understand?

Madison: I told you I don't want any part of this.

David: It's not about what you want. It's about keeping that bastard away from my wife.

Madison: Well, I can't do that.

David: No? You're a murderer who's walking free. Something tells me you can do that and keep your hands clean.

Madison: You don't have any proof that I committed any murder.

David: But I will, Madison. I'll find it. Now, do you want me digging around? I'll take that as a no. So the first thing you need to do is lock in Ryan.

Madison: What does that even mean?

David: What do you think? Get him into your bed immediately!

Greenlee: I'm sorry.

Ryan: For what?

Greenlee: Losing it.

Ryan: You have nothing to apologize for, Greenlee. Hey, if you want, I could go to the drugstore and get you a pregnancy test.

Greenlee: No, I don't want to know. Not yet. You know, I told myself -- and David -- that I came here because I needed to save my company, but the truth is I haven't been feeling right the past few days. When you offered this trip, even though I gave you hell at first, I wanted to get away. I shouldn't have come here with you. I mean, you're the last person I should be confiding in.

Ryan: It's ok. I can handle it.

Greenlee: I couldn't. When I lost our baby, I was a wreck. I'd already lost you. I felt like I had nothing left. I wanted to die.

[Marissa sets down suitcase]

J.R.: Please don't do this.

Marissa: I'll have someone pick up the rest of my things.

J.R.: If you just give me another chance, Marissa, I can make this right.

Marissa: You can't.

[Marissa takes off her wedding ring and hands it to J.R., then picks up her suitcase and leaves the mansion while J.R. weeps.]

Madison: I'm telling you I can't do it.

David: Oh, don't underestimate yourself, Madison. You're a beautiful woman. Ryan obviously likes you. It shouldn't take you any time at all to seduce him.

Madison: You don't have any kind of idea what kind of a man Ryan is. He's not someone that can just be pushed into bed.

David: All right, well, I'm sure you can find some way around his pristine character to make this happen.

Madison: That is sick. That's sick. You're sick. I'm out of here.

David: Ok.

Madison: Ooh!

David: Since you're obviously not clear about this yet, I'm gonna state this in the most simple terms possible. You either get Lavery into your bed or you go to prison for murder. Now, if you ask me, that's a simple choice.

Ryan: I could get you some crackers or something if you want. Or maybe I could get room service to get the broth back up here. I wasn't there when you lost our baby, and I should've been. And if I could go back --

Greenlee: What we went through, what we had and lost, it's too much. And going back there now, it's still too much.

Ryan: Yeah, I didn't mean to stir all that up again.

Greenlee: It always happens, though, doesn't it? Whenever I'm with you, I always feel too much.

Jake: How was he?

Babysitter: He's always good.

Jake: Oh, good. He's good, honey. See?

Babysitter: Mommy sure loves her little guy, doesn't she?

Jake: She does.

Janet's voice: You love him just as fiercely as I love you because, like it or not, baby girl, you are your mother's daughter!

[As he's staring at his wedding ring, J.R. hears the front door close and comes face to face with Annie.]
