Scott: Man, that was a -- oh, God! Chuck 'em over.
Scott: Annie, come on.
Annie: You barge in here, strip down, and go racing off to the pool.
Scott: I was hot. What?
Annie: I'm hot, too, Scott, but you see I'm wearing a bathing suit, because I'm appropriate.
Scott: Oh, so now I'm offending you?
Annie: I don't know. The other day, you implied that I was coming on to you. Is that what this whole thing is about?
Annie: Oh, I forgot. You're one of the nice guys. And nice guys never, ever -- oh!
[Monitor beeps steadily]
Marissa: Thanks for coming.
J.R.: No problem. How are you feeling?
Marissa: Health wise, good. Otherwise, not so good. David is just really pissing me off. He's being all controlling and protective. He's acting like -- like my father.
J.R.: Hmm. What is he so worried about?
Marissa: You. He says that if I let you into my life, I'll end up hurt or worse, so I should stay away from you.
J.R.: So is that the plan? Are you going to listen to David?
Liza: What are you doing here?
David: Something we'll both regret in the morning.
[David kisses Liza]
David: Go ahead. Slap me.
Liza: No, I don't want to slap you. Oh, the hell I don't.
Kendall: Mama's here. Mama's right here.
Kendall: Mama's never going to leave you again.
[Spike continues fussing]
Kendall: I'll do it, Zach. I'll stay. Yeah. I'll stay in this house, in that room, for as long as you need me.
Kendall: I just -- I still think it's crazy. I mean, there's no way that you can prove I'm innocent.
Zach: Watch me. Come here, monkey.
Kendall: I mean, Zach, you kidnapped me after my sentencing. You hire a lookalike to impersonate me in prison. And then you stash me in this secret hideout. This is nuts. Right? It's nuts.
Zach: Is it? These guys -- it's their happiness. That's what we're fighting for.
Liza: I know why you're here.
David: Well, it's hardly a mystery. Men have certain desires.
Liza: Ok. You know what? Drop the act. You're here because you're after my baby. You're still hanging onto that insane idea that somehow, you are the father.
David: No. I already told you, I'm over that.
Liza: Well, it's really my fault, for actually believing you, that somehow, DNA would be proof enough to stop this obsession, but no. No, here you are. You're over here to try to convince me that you're over it and -- right? Seduce me, and then steal my baby.
David: Boy, you are seriously paranoid.
Liza: Last time we were together, you were -- huh -- you were convinced that I was the one that got Marissa shot.
David: Yeah, that -- that was --
David: That was a mistake.
Liza: No, David. This is a mistake. Can you please leave?
David: You look me in the eye, and you tell me that when we kissed, you felt nothing.
Liza: I felt nothing.
David: They say to be a good lawyer, you have to be a good liar. No wonder you're so successful.
Liza: I'm successful, because I'm smart -- smart enough to stay away from snakes like you.
David: You can talk all you want, but the truth was in that kiss. When I pulled you close, your lips to mine, you wanted me. You may lie, but the body doesn't.
Marissa: David doesn't run my life. I'm an adult. I make my own decisions.
J.R.: If I had a nickel for every time I said that about my dad --
Marissa: I mean, I'm glad that he cares about me, but he just takes caring way too far.
J.R.: So you're not going to listen to his advice and steer clear from danger?
Marissa: I don't need David to protect me. I've done fine without him my whole life.
J.R.: Maybe David has a point. I do have a history of toxic relationships.
Marissa: What? Wait, you agree with David? You think that we should stay away from each other?
David's voice: I'll make you a deal, Junior.
David: I'll keep my distance from Little Adam from now on if you stay away from Marissa.
Marissa: J.R., answer me. Are you saying that we should let David decide where this goes?
J.R.: No. Of course not. He doesn't have a say in anything that we do.
Marissa: Are you sure that's how you feel? You're acting kind of weird.
J.R.: I'm just -- I'm tired right now. I just -- I need to get back to Little A. I'm glad that you're feeling better.
Annie: Wow. When I told you women like a guy who takes charge, you really took it to heart. I'm impressed. What -- what else do you plan on taking charge of?
Scott: My pants. Hand them over.
Annie: Is that an order?
Scott: You told me to start fighting for what I want. I want to get dressed.
Annie: And what if I'm a bad girl, and I don't obey?
Scott: Well, then you just might find out what I really want.
Annie: Sounds intriguing.
[Annie gasps as Scott grabs his pants]
Annie: Oh, not fair! Oh.
Kendall: Uh -- it's -- it's a little depressing in here.
Kendall: But you know what? It's -- it's a hell of a lot better than a cell, so I should be very thankful.
Zach: Yeah. You got everything you need. You got a couch, you got towels, you got a TV, DVDs. It's all here.
Kendall: DVDs. "Miracle"? Hmm.
Zach: Oh, a great story. 1987 mix. Must see TV.
Kendall: Ok. Let's see what else we got. "The Mighty Ducks." "The Mighty Ducks II." Oh, look at that -- "Mighty Ducks III." Yeah. Uh -- huh, is there anything else besides hockey?
Zach: What, do you -- you want to exchange it? You don't want to watch --
Kendall: No, no. You know what? It's great. It's great. Thank you.
Zach: Oh, and I got you this.
Kendall: A cell phone? Zach, I'm supposed to be in prison. I can't exactly sit around and chat with my friends.
Zach: I won't be here all the time, so when you need me, you can call me.
Kendall: Ok. I see we've got my heart medication. So, what about food?
Zach: You hungry?
Kendall: Yes, I'm starving, I'm starving.
Zach: Wait a minute, hon.
Kendall: I just want to go downstairs to see what's in the fridge.
Zach: You can't leave this room.
Kendall: Not even to go to the kitchen? I really can't leave here, ever?
Zach: No, not -- not -- this is not forever, it's just for a little while.
Kendall: Ok. Well, we -- we've covered communication, supplies, and entertainment, yes. Just one more thing. Where do I sleep?
J.R.: Ooh! I should have brought popcorn. What you watching?
Annie: It's just some stupid video.
J.R.: Ah, it didn't look stupid to me. It looked pretty hot. It's Scotty making the bold moves. Who knew he had the stones, huh?
Annie: Yeah? You think that's interesting? Maybe you should watch the rest of the video.
J.R.: I think I'll pass.
Annie: No, no, no, no, no. Trust me. Trust me, it's fascinating.
J.R.: Well, look at you, busy girl. Hooking up with all the Chandlers. Who's next, Colby?
Annie: Huh, you're hilarious.
J.R.: No, I should warn my sister that her new stepmommy's a psycho and a nympho. On second thought, I probably should just wait for my dad. Put the brakes on this whole joke of a wedding.
Annie: Yeah? And what would you tell him exactly? That you've slobbered all over me to test my love for him? That I slapped you and told you I would never cheat on your father?
J.R.: No, you said if you were to cheat, it wouldn't be with me, but you never said anything about Scott.
Annie: Don't mess with me, J.R. And do not get between me and Adam.
J.R.: But my father deserves to hear the truth -- that you're a lying tramp who's two-timing him right under his own roof.
Annie: Try that. Try telling him, and I'll talk my way out of it. Adam's not going to believe a word you say.
J.R.: Oh, well, perfect. Now we can have a threesome.
Scott: Excuse me?
J.R.: Oh, drop the innocent act. Annie here was just showing me highlights from your soft-core sex video. Nice butt, by the way. Real classy.
Annie: Oh, relax. It's not like they caught us doing it on the kitchen floor.
Scott: I'll take that disc.
Annie: Oh, no, no, no, I don't think so. I think I'll hold onto it, just in case.
Scott: In case of what?
Annie: In case either one of you wants to go running to Adam.
J.R.: Oh, I'll tell my dad whatever the hell I want to.
Annie: Really? And how would that conversation go? Here's the thing. Adam's about to get married. He's very much in love. So, you tell him what happens, he looks at this tape right here, and then he realizes his one son and his beloved nephew grabbed and kissed his fiancée? Hmm. Who do you think he'll kick out of his life first? Here's a clue -- it won't be me.
Scott: You kissed her?
Annie: You both did. And you both initiated. And I have the proof right here. Remember that.
Liza: You kissed me, I kissed you back. That doesn't mean that I want you.
David: So you're telling me after all these years, there's not the least bit curiosity what it would be like?
Liza: To sleep with you? Huh. David, you know, we could do that. We could. I could just rip your clothes off right now and throw you on that bed and rock your world, but what would be in it for me?
David: Why don't you give it a shot? I'll show you.
Liza: No. See, we've got too much history together. That only works if you're strangers. Right? You meet at some bar, or some hotel somewhere, and then your eyes lock. And before you know it, you're devouring each other up against a wall or on some table with no names, no strings, just sex.
Liza: Then it would be worth it.
David: Ok, so what's the problem? We have four walls, a table. Who said anything about strings?
Liza: No, because I know you. There's always a hidden agenda. Right? There's some sort of secret plan. Just like you did with Krystal.
David: All right. My relationship with Krystal is none of your business.
Liza: You went after her for your grandson. Now you're coming after me for Stuart. It's really a very old routine. You should come up with something new.
David: Huh. You know something? I was thinking that we might have a nice time together. A couple of drinks, a couple of laughs. But you're afraid.
Liza: Of what? You?
David: Romance. Getting caught up in the moment, taking a chance. You can't do it.
David: And I know why.
Liza: Well, this ought to be good.
David: Because you're incapable of being happy. I thought I would give it a shot. You know, come here, see if I can get you to that place. But I realize now, that was a waste of time. You in love? Not going to happen. You'll never let a man make you happy.
Zach: It's not perfect.
Kendall: It's fine. Yeah, it's good. Ah. Come on. I -- come and try it. I need a second opinion.
Zach: I believe you.
Kendall: No, come on, Zach. Really, I want to know what you think. Come on. Let's try it.
[Kendall sighs as Zach reclines on the sofa bed next to her]
Kendall: Why can't I sleep in your bed with you?
Zach: It's too dangerous.
Zach: Well, if someone comes in the house, and sees you, it -- just there's too much at stake right now.
Kendall: It's too dangerous because someone might break in? Zach, this is the first time in forever that I've been able to breathe. Where I actually have time to -- to sit and talk, about us. Where we stand and what we feel. I really want to know what you think.
Zach: I think I should check on the boys.
Kendall: There it is. Right there between us, keeping us apart.
Kendall: Ryan. I need to know. Is my relationship with Ryan, my past relationship, the reason that you're pushing me away?
Zach: It really doesn't matter.
Kendall: Zach, it does matter. I'm in love with you. These past few months have been hell. We got divorced. We almost lost Ian. I got convicted of murder. But instead of driving us apart, everything just brought us closer together. And it showed us what an incredible team we still are. The way that you fought for me and for our family, it just made me fall in love with you all over again. But every time I reach out to you, there's this wall. I hit this wall. And I keep asking myself, "What is this thing that's in the way?" And now I know. You can't forgive me for what I did with Ryan.
Zach: You're right. I can't. We can jump into bed together and be on each other all night, pretend everything's ok, but it isn't. We got to be honest with each other. You betrayed me. You broke my trust, you broke my heart. I can't let it go.
Kendall: So you're walking around carrying all this resentment towards me?
Zach: The moment they pulled me out of that hole, it was never the same. We both know that.
Kendall: But, Zach, I don't want to give up. You, Zach -- you're the man that I belong with.
Kendall: All right, you know what, Zach? That's not fair. That's not fair. I mean, you're treating me like I'm some petty fickle idiot.
Zach: You gave yourself to another man not once, but twice. And now, every time I see Devane, I don't know what he's saying to me. All I can hear is my heart pounding in my head, "That's the man that slept with my wife."
Kendall: Ok, stop it, please.
Zach: And then Ryan. My house, our bed.
Kendall: It's over.
Zach: Not for me.
Kendall: You want to hold this against me for the rest of our lives, that's your choice, not mine.
Zach: It's not a choice. I don't forgive. Not anyone, not ever. Not even you.
Kendall: Then why -- why do all of this? Why the big rescue? Why would you risk everything -- everything to stop me from going to prison? Why don't you just cut me loose?
Zach: Because you're my wife. I'll do anything in my power to protect you and the boys. But don't ask for anything else. You won't get it.
Zach: Yeah? You handle it.
Kendall: Who was that?
Zach: Francesca has a problem at the casino.
Kendall: Go, I'll be fine.
Zach: I can't go. I'm here with the boys.
Kendall: Zach, they're sleeping. And what you said before was right. You have to act normal, or people will start to get suspicious. You left me with the baby monitor. I have the cell phone. You'll unlock the door for me.
Zach: If one of them wakes up, you call me.
Zach: I won't be long.
Kendall: Zach -- I hope everything works out.
David: Everything's looking good. How do you feel?
David: Any pain? Discomfort?
Marissa: I said I'm fine, so you can just go. Unless you want to lecture me on who I can and can't associate with.
David: Ok, look, I understand you're upset with me right now. But soon you will see that I was right to protect you. J.R. is a worthless drunk. A spoiled, selfish rich kid.
Marissa: Enough! Just leave.
David: Ok, fine. But before I leave, there's something else you should know about Junior. I made him an offer. I promised to stay away from his son if he promised to stay away from you. And he's thinking about it.
Marissa: You did not do that.
David: Oh, I most certainly did. And you know how much I love Little Adam. So now you know how much I love you.
J.R.: Why would you kiss Annie?
Scott: You kissed her first.
J.R.: What is this, the first grade? I did it to bust her. If she was into it, it proves that she was just after my dad's money.
Scott: But she's not -- into you.
J.R.: Yeah, but at least I have a reason. What's your excuse?
Scott: I don't have to explain myself to you.
J.R.: Well, then maybe you should explain yourself to my father.
J.R.: Or I should.
Scott: Oh, you go right ahead. Annie's right. Adam will disown us, he will shut us out of the family, he will shut us out of Chandler.
J.R.: So you're ok with this? Her running the show? You know, it's bad enough you don't believe that she killed Uncle Stuart. Now you're making out with her?
Scott: What are you even doing here right now? Shouldn't you be at the hospital with your girlfriend?
J.R.: My -- Marissa is not my girlfriend.
Scott: She wants to be.
J.R.: That's not what Hayward wants.
Scott: Since when the hell do you care what he thinks?
J.R.: Since Hayward promised he'd stay out of my son's life permanently. He told me if I would stay away from Marissa, that he would steer clear of Little Adam.
Scott: Well, I hope you told him where he can stick his offer.
J.R.: Listen, Scott, Hayward has gotten this close to taking custody of my son. Nothing will stop him. He could do it at any time again. So if I do this, the threat's gone.
Scott: And where does that leave Marissa, huh? When you care about a woman, you don't just toss her aside like garbage, I don't care how sweet of a deal David made you.
J.R.: Me and Marissa -- it's not serious.
Scott: It could be.
J.R.: What do you mean?
Scott: Don't ask me why, but she wants to take it to the next level with you.
J.R.: And how the hell would you know that?
Kendall: You scared the hell out of me.
Jesse: You're not supposed to leave this room.
Kendall: Well, I thought my boys were in danger.
Jesse: You know what? Anybody sees you, it's over.
Kendall: Ok, well, how about a heads-up next time so I don't bash your head in?
[Kendall puts hammer down]
Kendall: What are you doing here, anyway? What, are you testing me, or creeping around to see what I'm doing?
Jesse: Zach called me. He asked me to check on the boys. I'm sorry I scared you.
Kendall: It's all right. It's ok. Zach told me to stay put, but I -- I'm going stir-crazy already. I can't stop thinking about what I've done, and what we're doing. What are we doing, Jesse? I'm guilty. I confessed. And now I'm hiding out in this little room in my own house hoping for a miracle? This is crazy. This will never work.
Jesse: We're going to make it work. Zach, me, the woman in prison, who's been paid a fortune by your husband.
Kendall: The girl, I get. And Zach, too. But what about you, Jesse? Why are you doing this?
Zach: So, what is so important you couldn't help me over the phone?
Francesca: I was going over the books.
Francesca: The revenue is way down. Now, that's to be expected in a recession, but $100,000 was withdrawn from the casino's business account last week. I can't trace it.
Zach: Don't worry about that. Anything else?
Francesca: Well, I'm really concerned about the numbers. We've never seen drops like this.
Zach: You just said it's a recession. Do something. Run some promotions.
Francesca: I don't think that's going to help.
Zach: Well, then do some -- why did I hire you? Come up with something. And just so you know, 100,000's going to come out of that account next month, and the month after that, until I tell it to stop.
Francesca: How is the casino going to make up the loss?
Zach: They won't. We'll take out a loan.
Francesca: In this economy? I doubt any bank is going to --
Zach: Did I say anything about a bank?
Francesca: Then where will you get the money?
Zach: My worst enemy.
Liza: Which one?
J.R.: How would you know what Marissa wants from me, hmm?
Scott: It's just obvious. And it's obvious you want her, too.
J.R.: And it's pretty damn clear you like her, too. But now you're playing Annie? I mean, what gives here? What happened between you and Marissa?
Scott: What difference does it make?
J.R.: Well, because I would like to know.
Scott: If I knew an amazing woman was out there thinking about me, and wanting to be with me, the last place that I would be is here arguing with you. I would go to her, and I would spend time with her, and I would feel so grateful that she wanted to spend the time of day with me. And I wouldn't blow it, because I'm too stupid to see how lucky I am.
Liza: I thought you were going to call me, and we were going to work on Kendall's appeal.
Zach: Something came up.
Liza: Something more important than getting your wife out of prison?
Zach: You want to do me a favor? Go home and play with your kid. Thanks.
Liza: He's with Colby. He's fine. But you? You got some money troubles?
Zach: Yeah. Going to ask my buddy Adam for a loan.
Liza: Chandler? You're not serious, are you?
Zach: Why not?
Liza: Well, because a month ago, you tried to kill him, and now you want to borrow money? From a man who apparently doesn't have it. I hear his business is on the brink of collapse.
Zach: No, word on the street is, Chandler's bouncing back. Yay.
Liza: Ok, I still don't see how this is a good plan.
Zach: Well, it's -- let me explain. It's a good plan because if I get money from Adam, he's going to think that I'm -- he'll let down his guard. And then he's going to think that I'll take it easy around him. Well, I'm going to stick around and keep sticking around, until I can prove that Annie killed Stuart.
Liza: That is a good plan.
Zach: Told you.
Liza: I knew you wouldn't give up on Kendall. You still believe she's innocent.
Zach: Of course.
Liza: It's good. It's good. You cater to Adam's ego, his lust for money, for power. But there's another part of the plan you're not telling me, isn't there? Zach? Listen, I've signed back on as Kendall's attorney, even though every bit of my fiber told me not to. So the least you can do is tell me the truth.
Zach: Talk to Francesca. Get the papers ready to sign, and call me.
Jesse: I am helping you because I believe you're innocent.
Kendall: Ok. But isn't this beyond the call of duty?
Jesse: Kendall, keeping you here -- this is temporary, just until Zach and I can prove that Annie is the real killer.
Kendall: Going after Annie, I understand. But, Jesse, you're hiding a convicted murderer. You're risking your career. Why would you do that? Why would you risk everything?
Jesse: I guess I can relate to the desperation that Zach is feeling right now. Twenty years ago, I was separated from my family. And every day, I can see the toll that it's taken on my wife, on my son. Yeah, I'm back now, but there's still some unresolved issues. I can never get that time back, but I can do everything in my power to make sure you don't have to go through what I did. And for me, that makes it worth it.
Marissa: What are you doing back here?
J.R.: You were right. Look, I was acting weird. I just -- I thought maybe we could just try again, you know?
Marissa: Hmm. Well, now that you've had time to plan your speech, it should go great. How about I get you started? How's this? "Marissa, I don't think we should see each other anymore, because I have no feelings for you." No? Ok, how about, "Marissa, I don't think we should see each other anymore, because I'm still grieving over Babe." Ok, you could go with either of those. But they'd be lies. The truth is, you're dumping me so David will back off your son.
J.R.: No, I don't know what he told you --
Marissa: I mean, do you really think that he would keep his word?
J.R.: If you will just let me try to explain --
Marissa: You're a liar!
J.R.: Marissa, come on.
Marissa: Everyone lies. Everyone leaves, and I end up alone, so just spare me the B.S. explanation and get out.
J.R.: I just wanted to --
Marissa: I said get out!
J.R.: All right.
Liza: So I will be handling the paperwork for Zach's loan.
Francesca: Doesn't Mr. Slater need a lawyer for that?
Liza: I am a lawyer.
Francesca: I wasn't aware of that. I thought you were a -- never mind.
Liza: So, Zach has not told me exactly how much he'll be borrowing.
Liza: Do you happen to know?
Francesca: Well, he'll need 100,000 to cover the initial deficit, so add to that --
Liza: Wait a minute. 100,000 for the "initial" deficit? How much are we exactly talking about?
Francesca: You should ask Zach.
Singer: Everybody's got a secret
Zach's voice: I love you, and I want you in my life, always.
Kendall: And, Zach, with this ring, I thee wed.
Zach: I need you to trust this, trust us.
Kendall: I do. And I have so much. I have so many amazing things in my life. And I have taken it all for granted. Especially you. I can't live without you, Zach. I don't want to. And if I can, don't tell me. Unless you -- do you still love me?
[After dreaming that she and Zach are kissing, Kendall gets up and places her hand on the door to her room, while Zach places his hand on the other side of the door]
