Tad: We are gathered here today in the sight of God and man to -- no, no, hang on. I blew it. It says skip down.
Jake: That's what I was worried about.
Tad: No, before -- no, before I'm supposed to say that, I'm supposed to do the "if anybody has an objection to this marriage, speak now, or forever hold your peace, blah, blah, blah." So --
David: That would be me.
Jake: Aren't you supposed to be in jail?
David: Jail is for the guilty, Jake. I'm guilty of nothing. You, on the other hand, look guilty as sin.
Amanda: Jake and I love each other. Why can't you just leave us alone?
David: You and Jake, I couldn't care less about. But my baby --
Jake: Do you think you're going to stop this thing? Is that what you think?
David: Some bogus marriage ceremony is not going to give you the right to step in and play daddy to my child.
[Jake rushes forward and grabs David]
Erica: Hi. I hope I'm not interrupting.
Ryan: I kind of figured you'd still be at the hospital.
Erica: Well, Ian is just about to come out from surgery, and I'm going to go back as soon as they call me from the hospital. But before I do, I just wanted to straighten something out.
Ryan: I can't imagine what it is I could help you straighten out. If it's anything to do with Kendall --
Erica: No. It has to do with another woman in your life.
Annie: Why is this happening to me? I was so close. I was so close.
Aidan: So close? So close to what, Annie? Tell me. Annie.
Angie: Is there a problem?
Aidan: No, she's still a bit out of it.
Annie: Am I going to die? Is that why you're here?
Angie: Oh, quite the opposite. I just got your lab results back, and the protocol I have you on should break this fever very soon. You'll be back to your old self again.
Jesse: Was there anybody else there that night that could corroborate your story?
Jesse: Should we hold her for further questioning?
Mr. North: No, that won't be necessary, but Ms. Colby will have to provide us with a new statement.
Liza: Of course.
Mr. North: With one small addition. I'll need you to confirm what you told us originally -- that you saw Kendall Hart Slater on the terrace with a gun the night of the murder. That won't be a problem, will it?
Liza: I've already gone on record.
Mr. North: With two different stories, so the question remains. Will you testify to seeing Kendall, or am I going to have to start considering new suspects?
Kendall: I feel like we've spent half of Ian's life just waiting. How is he?
Dr. Sloane: A rock star. Strong, stable, no complications, no problems.
Kendall: Thank God, thank God.
Zach: Thank you.
Dr. Sloane: Your son's in recovery. I'll let you know when you can see him.
Kendall: Thank you so much. Zach --
Kendall: Oh, our son is ok. Finally, he's ok. Ok, he's coming home. He's coming home.
[Kendall and Zach hug and kiss]
Jake: Get out of this house!
David: Get off me! It's my baby!
Jake: Get out of our house!
David: What, are you crazy?
Krystal: Hey, hey, hey! What is going on?
David: What do you think is going on? Same old, same old -- these idiots are trying to kill me.
David: You even breathe on me, and I will destroy you.
Krystal: Ok, listen. Could anybody please explain to me what's happening?
Tad: I was trying to marry Amanda and Jake.
Krystal: Oh, so you have -- you're an ordained minister?
Tad: Yeah. I did it online. It was a snap.
Jake: Why isn't he in jail? Why aren't you in jail?
David: Well, it's not easy, Jake, considering the fact that the chief of police hates me as much as all of you do. Ten brain cells among you and you still haven't figured out it's going to take more than torches and pitchforks to keep me from my child.
Amanda: A stake through the heart and a silver bullet might do the trick.
Tad: Yeah, I tell you -- that's an excellent line, if I've ever heard one.
David: No, I'm not going anywhere.
Krystal: You heard Tad. Leave.
David: Back in the fold, huh? For how long? Until the next man comes along to save you from yourself?
Tad: I really think that's enough.
David: Oh, really? And what are you going to do, padre, huh? Knock me out with one of your stupid jokes?
[Tad punches David in the face]
Liza: I heard a gunshot. I saw the body. I took the letters, and I left, and that is exactly what you'll get when you put me on the stand.
Mr. North: You'll perjure yourself about seeing Kendall.
Liza: Kendall Slater didn't do it, and I won't help you convict an innocent woman.
Mr. North: This could come back to bite you.
Liza: Or not. Listen, the Slaters have already been through enough without me saying that I saw Kendall on the terrace.
Jesse: Well, that pretty much wraps it up.
Liza: So, am I free to go?
Mr. North: For now.
Liza: It's been a pleasure.
Jesse: If you're so fired up about not hurting Zach and Kendall, why offer to help Hayward?
Liza: Because everyone's entitled to representation.
Jesse: By a lawyer who was at the crime scene, and has told -- I don't know how many versions of what happened that night?
Liza: As you can see, I am fully capable of representing David.
Jesse: But if he's convicted, Kendall's in the clear. Isn't that what you want?
Marissa: Oh, my God. Is that why you volunteered to be David's lawyer? So you can throw the case and get him locked up?
Liza: Of course not.
Marissa: You want David to go down for Stuart's murder, just like everyone else in town.
Angie: All right, I'll check on you later.
Annie: I was afraid I was going to die. Silly.
Aidan: What did you mean earlier? What are you so close to?
Annie: You know, getting better. Emotionally and mentally, I feel like it's really possible, Aidan. I feel like I can really make peace with the bad things that I've done and the people that I've hurt. I feel like, in a way, maybe saving Adam's life saved my own.
Erica: Annie's playing Adam.
Ryan: That's exactly what Aidan said. Of course, Annie just dumped Aidan.
Erica: Annie dumped Aidan because, even though Aidan has all these Special Ops talents, he couldn't give Annie what she needs. Adam has money, has power -- everything Annie thinks she needs to avoid all the charges against her.
Ryan: Why are you so interested in Annie and Adam? Is she encroaching on your territory?
Erica: Look, Adam and I are friends. That's it. Anyway, Adam would never look at a woman like Annie.
Ryan: No, I'm sure he wouldn't.
Erica: Ryan, you really shouldn't take this so lightly.
Ryan: You know what, Erica? I'm already tired of you telling me what I should and shouldn't do. Now, Annie --
Ryan: Is my ex-wife -- ex-life. And as long as Emma is safe, that's all I care about.
Erica: Ok, well, you enjoy your bubble. But Annie nearly killed me, and I believe she killed Stuart. So I want her in prison where she belongs.
Ryan: And I'm sure you'll figure out a way to make that happen, because whatever Erica Kane wants, Erica Kane gets, right?
[Cell phone rings]
Erica: Excuse me. Hello? Yes, and how is he? Oh, thank you. Thank you very much. Ian is out of surgery, and he's doing well.
Ryan: Oh, that's so great. That's great news. Ian's great.
Zach: I'm --
Kendall: Yeah. Ok. That was -- that was kind of weird. That was kind of crazy, but I guess we are married again.
Zach: On paper. We're married on paper, and we'll do whatever it takes to make sure you're there to watch Ian grow up.
Kendall: And he is going to grow up, healthy and happy.
Zach: Happy and healthy. That's -- that's the plan.
Erica: Isn't it wonderful Ian's going to be ok? He is going to be ok.
Zach: Mm-hmm. Ian's going to be ok.
Kendall: Yeah. It's great -- it's great. I need to get some air.
Erica: What happened? Oh, were you two fighting?
Zach: No. We -- nothing happened. It's just -- what happened is we're not fighting.
Erica: Oh, well, that's wonderful.
Zach: You're not going to ask me what's going to happen next? What's the next --
Erica: No. I'm just going to tell you that I am so happy that Ian is coming home very soon.
Marissa: You want David to be nailed for a murder that he didn't commit so Kendall Slater can go free, and no one looks at you.
Liza: Excuse me. He's not here. If you haven't noticed, your father has been set free. No charges were brought against him, because I did my job.
Liza: So, go find him. Go celebrate.
Marissa: No, maybe you got him off this time so he'd trust you. If he does get arrested, I'll make damn sure you're not his lawyer.
Liza: Yeah, you see, you are letting your emotions get involved again. You really do have to work on that.
Tad: Sorry for the interruption. Where was I?
David: This is ridiculous. Now get me the hell out of this.
Krystal: Calm down.
Tad: That's right, the objection part.
Jake: Just get to the kissing part, and then I'll take over.
Tad: Would you knock it off?
Jake: Go ahead.
Tad: I may be newly minted as a minister, but, you know, I take my job very seriously. There are steps to go through.
David: Yeah, right, expect when you're punching out innocent bystanders.
Tad: Yeah, I'm sorry about that, Dave. I just thought I was sort of speaking for the rest of the group.
Opal: Amen to that.
David: Ok, look, why don't we just get this over with? Pronounce them man and wife. It's not going to make any difference. I'm still going to have my child.
Krystal: Why can't you just leave them alone?
David: I can't believe you of all people are supporting this. Don't you see that Amanda's making the same mistake you did? Marrying a Martin, 'til boredom do you part?
David: Trust me. She'll be out the door by breakfast, gagging.
Tad: Gagging -- there's an idea. Mama, you want to do me the honors?
Opal: That would be my eternal pleasure.
David: What are you talking about? What are you going to do?
Opal: Right here -- right there.
[Opal stuffs David's mouth with a hanky]
Tad: Excellent. Excellent, excellent. All right, now, dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the sight of God and man to join this man and woman in holy matrimony.
Annie: I'm feeling really tired, Aidan.
Erica: Must be exhausting, trying to find new ways to help Annie escape justice.
Aidan: Annie's had a rough time.
Erica: Yeah, she's been stabbed. There must be karma in this world, after all.
Aidan: She's going to make a full recovery, just like you did, Erica.
Erica: No, she's going to prison, unless you help her escape again, or kidnap Emma, or run off to parts unknown.
Aidan: Annie has her own plans.
Aidan: It's been a long day.
Erica: Awfully convenient, wasn't it? That Annie just happened to be at Adam's house the night that Stuart was murdered?
Aidan: Annie saved Adam's life.
Erica: Ok, let me tell you what I actually think happened here. I think you created this whole scenario so that Annie could save Adam, and Adam would be so indebted to her that she could use his power and his money to help her buy her way out of a prison sentence that she so rightfully deserves.
Aidan: You and I might actually have something in common.
Erica: What, were you stabbed by Annie, too?
Aidan: I want her right where you do. In prison.
Jesse: Hey, man. How's your boy doing?
Zach: Ian's going to be ok.
Jesse: Excellent. That's good.
Zach: How's Frankie?
Jesse: He's hanging in there. Thanks, man.
Jesse: Listen, I just wanted to tell you that Hayward has been released.
Zach: How can that be? The footprint places him right where you said he was, where he didn't hear the gunshot.
Jesse: Well, he's now swearing that he heard the gunshot. He heard somebody running toward him, and he hid.
Zach: Somebody -- Kendall?
Jesse: He claims he saw her fleeing the scene.
Zach: Well, that's not how she remembers it, and David is a liar. Everybody knows that. What about the DA? He believes him?
Jesse: Well, it didn't hurt he's got a bulldog attorney who claims --
Zach: Well, no. It's Stark. That's the attorney. It's Stark. He's not a bulldog.
Jesse: Liza Colby.
Zach: Liza Colby? Hayward hired Liza?
Jesse: She volunteered.
Liza: You know, it's not what you think it is.
Tad: Now, just do me a favor --
Tad: And promise to get some real rings, so in case Kathy wants to play princess wedding, she can.
Jake: Princess -- it's a fitting thing.
Tad: Do you --
Jake: I do.
Tad: No, not yet.
Jake: I mean -- what? It's ok. Well, hold on. I've got something -- with this ring -- I'll turn this one on.
Jake: I take you, Amanda -- actually, I have something to say first. Can I?
Jake: Ok. I feel like I've already met my soulmate. I mean, you know, you've become my best friend, and I would be honored -- really honored, if you'd be my wife. And, of course -- of course, through sickness and health, and for richer and for poorer, and texting or twittering --
Jake: More importantly, through all the novellas and gut-wrenching movie-thons, million cups of happiness tea, I want to stick with you. I want to be by your side, and for every night that you fall asleep in my arms, I promise that each and every morning, I will wake you up with a kiss on those beautiful, beautiful lips of yours, for as long as we're both on the planet.
Tad: On the planet? Ok. What about you, Amanda? You want to give it a shot?
Amanda: I didn't prepare anything.
Jake: It's ok.
Opal: Oh, honey. Honey, your heart is ready. That's all you need.
Amanda: I love you. Your kindness, your passion, your honesty. With you, I feel like anything is possible as long as my hand is in yours. You make me feel safe and loved. True love. And you're unpredictable and spontaneous and crazy, and it just makes me love you more and more every day. And I can't wait to wake up next to you every day of my life, and wonder what will happen next. I promise to love you, trust you, and learn to cook.
Jake: Shut up, really? You will? You said it in front of these people, all right.
Opal: Tad. Tad, sweetheart, you're up.
Tad: Oh, yeah. No, that was a --
Tad: Something stuck in my throat, that's all. So, I guess, by the power vested in me by the world wide web, I now pronounce you man and wife.
[Opal laughs as Jake and Amanda kiss]
[Kendall recalls kissing Zach as she knocks on Ryan's door. Meanwhile, he's standing on his balcony, holding the green butterfly that reminds him of Greenlee.]
Tad: Ah, yes.
[Tad hugs Amanda]
Jake: All right, Reverend, that's my wife you got there.
Tad: No, it's one of the perks of my new job.
Opal: Oh, sweetie pie.
[Opal hugs Amanda]
Jake: All right, that's my wife you got there.
Opal: True love, it is all over your stars and your cards and your tea leaves. Nothing but sunshine. Oh, congratulations, mister.
Jake: Thank you.
Opal: You done good.
Krystal: I'm happy for you.
Jake: Thank you.
Krystal: I know we've had some problems.
Jake: Well, you know what? Let's -- what we'll do is erase it, forget it. It's all in the past. A fresh start.
David: [Muffled talking] Get this out of my mouth now, please.
Tad: Is there such a thing as a wedding piņata?
[David's muffled yelling]
David: [Muffled] Get me the heck out of here!
Tad: All right, because as a man of the cloth, I can afford to show some compassion. You going to play nice?
David: You all realize this is a farce, don't you? I mean, go ahead, marry this buffoon. It doesn't mean my child is going to be raised under a Martin roof. Trust me.
Tad: You know, I'll bet if we turn the other cheek, he'll disappear.
David: Why, Tad the preacher. You're all insane.
Krystal: It's called love, David. This -- this is love -- real, solid, unconditional love. And you can fight it all you want. You can pull out every nasty trick you have in your bag, but you're not going to win.
Krystal: Not against this.
David: Ah, it sounds like the same fabulous love you couldn't run away from fast enough.
Krystal: This child has a chance at a real family, David. So if you really love him, you'll let him grow up healthy and happy, and walk away.
David: I guess I shouldn't be surprised, huh? I mean, you are the expert on that, aren't you? You walked away from Jenny in order to be with me. Hell, you sold Marissa because money was more important. So you're in no position to lecture me or anyone else on the sanctity of family. You took both my daughters away from me and the home we could have provided.
Krystal: A home? A home? You know, that would have been nice, but I couldn't find you. I didn't know who you were. Ours was a one-night stand. No names, no date. Just a wham-bam, and not even a "thank you, ma'am." No, I didn't get the white house and the picket fence, and I thank God for that. Because if Babe and Marissa had grown up with you as a father, no telling how much you would have twisted them.
Marissa: You never even gave us a chance.
Jackson: Hey, Kendall. I'm sorry I startled you.
Kendall: I hope you don't mind. Greenlee gave me a key.
Jackson: No, no, no, come on in. I'm just -- packing up her stuff. I've been at this for months, and I never seem to get much done. I guess that's because when all of this is gone, well, then, she's gone. I'm having a hard time dealing with that.
Kendall: I'm sorry.
Jackson: What brings you here, anyway?
Kendall: I just came to feel closer to Greenlee.
Jackson: Listen, I'm only good for one box a day, so let me get this closed up, and I'll get out of your way. Listen, by the way, I should tell you this. I talked to the DA's office. They brought Hayward in for questioning, but they released him.
Kendall: So that makes me the number-one suspect.
Jackson: With a bullet, as they say. You should pardon the pun. You ok?
Kendall: Yeah, yeah. Sure.
[Kendall picks up a framed photo of herself hugging Greenlee]
Zach: How are you doing? So you decided to defend Hayward and to get him off?
Liza: That wasn't the plan.
Zach: What was the plan, Liza?
Liza: I was going to throw the case. Yeah, I was, but David blew it up. He told the DA and Jesse that he saw me standing over Stuart's body, and North got very interested. He let David go, and he started grilling me.
Zach: What did you say?
Liza: Well, I admitted that David was right. I was exactly where he said I was. I didn't say anything about Kendall. You have to believe me.
Zach: Of course, I have to believe you. Because if I didn't believe you, then everybody would know that this is not a real baby. Now, let's recap. As long as you remember not to see Kendall anywhere near the terrace, you have my silence.
Erica: Aidan. You don't really expect me to believe that you want Annie locked up. I mean, you've gone to extremes to help her escape repeatedly.
Aidan: I was wrong, ok? I thought that if I could help her out and give her some love and attention and some stability, that she would get better.
Erica: I see. Only she's spending all her time with Adam. So, are your feelings hurt?
Aidan: Ever since she saved Adam's life, she's got everyone convinced that she's better, but I think she's crazy. And she needs to be locked up where she can get help. And she needs to stay away from Adam Chandler, because he's dangerous.
Erica: Adam? Annie's the one who's killed people. She's threatened people. She has attacked people. I have the scars to prove it.
Aidan: Annie's vulnerable.
Erica: I think you're the one who's insane.
Aidan: Adam has an angle, Erica. I don't know what it is. I don't know what he wants. But Annie -- if she gets hurt, I don't think she's going to come back from it.
Erica: Annie's the one who's playing games. She knows that she's facing decades in prison. Well, you know what? Adam can't make that go away. Adam is the one who is vulnerable. He just lost Stuart, and Colby moved out of his house. I don't want Annie to take advantage of him.
Aidan: No one's taking advantage of Adam Chandler.
Erica: You just keep Annie as far away from Adam as possible. And then, there won't be a problem.
Aidan: If you care so much about Adam Chandler, well, then, you should tell him to back off. Otherwise, you'll both have me to answer to.
Marissa: You tied him up?
Tad: Yep. Gagged him, too.
Marissa: Oh, my God, are you ok?
David: Yeah, I'm fine. They're just a bunch of idiots.
Marissa: Are you kidding? Ranting about what a monster David is, and you pull something like this?
Jake: He came in here trying to stop a wedding.
Marissa: Well, you tied him up! You tried to strip him of his license. You tried to put him in prison for a murder he didn't commit. You -- all of you, the way you gang up on him.
David: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for defending me, but it's not going to make any difference. But thank you. So, I guess congratulations are in order. Oh, well. Enjoy the honeymoon. It's not going to last.
Jake: We're registered at Lacey's. I'd love a crock pot or something.
Tad: Time to crank up the music and dance a little bit.
Marissa: Ok, before you all celebrate the big day, just tell me. Why do you have to torture David? I mean, maybe if you just left him alone, he'd --
Opal: Eat up all of Pine Valley.
Amanda: I get he's your father, but you've seen what he's capable of.
Krystal: Wait a minute. I thought you were on Jake and Amanda's side. I thought you wanted them to keep this baby.
Marissa: Yeah, so why not convict him of a murder he didn't commit, just because it would make your lives easier? That's pretty sick. Now you guys keep screaming about how you're the victims. From what I've seen, David could be screaming the same thing, too.
Krystal: You know what? Could I just talk to you for a second, please?
Marissa: Oh --
Krystal: No, please. Please, Marissa. Come on.
Marissa: So, what? Is this where you tell me that big bad David is sucking me in? I have no will, and I'm brainwashed?
Krystal: It happened to me, and it happened to Amanda. David has a way of drawing you in when you're vulnerable. Babe died, your parents died. You think it's just the two of you against the world. And you think you have it all under control, but before you know it, you're giving up everything to help him, to be with him, to fight for him. Marissa, he was drugging me, all right? And all of a sudden, I lost everything -- everything that mattered to me -- Jenny and Tad.
Marissa: Well, lucky for me, I don't have much to lose. I've lost my parents, my birth mother sold me. My birth father actually seems to care about how I feel and what I want.
Krystal: And you feel special and needed and loved. But then one day, you wake up and you realize you've been used. I have been there, Marissa. And I am terrified that if you don't wake up and see who David is, that he's going to hurt you the same way he hurt me.
Kendall: Remember all the plans we had? It would be you and Ryan, and me and Zach, and our kids. One big happy, messy family. Well, the messy part of that's there, but the happy -- not so much. You swore Zach and I would be forever. Now look at us. Look at me. You were hardly gone, and Ryan and I -- you know. I mean, it just kind of happened. It did, and I told myself that you would be happy that Ryan and I were together. But I guess maybe that's so that I wouldn't feel so guilty. We love each other -- we do, so much, Ryan and I. But there's something in the way. And I think it might be you. I mean, Ryan loves me. I know he does, but... ok, here's the deal. I kissed Zach today. I did -- I kissed him. And it felt so good. It felt good, ok? I don't know. How can you go and die on me? How can you do that? Especially when I need you right now to tell me to stop being so stupid. And to just tell me for once in my life to just shut up and be happy, instead of looking for -- I don't even know what. Help me, Greenlee. Give me a sign. Just tell me it's ok.
[Ryan walks into Greenlee's apartment]
Marissa: I don't want to hear about how David's using me, all right? I've already lost one father. I'm not going to dump this one because everyone in town has it in for him.
Krystal: I'm just concerned about you.
Marissa: David's tough. Yeah, I get that, but there's good in him.
Jake: Oh, she's slipping to the dark side.
Marissa: What? No, I am giving him a chance, actually. I'm smart. I'm strong. I know what I'm doing. And maybe -- just maybe I'll get through to him, talk him down, help him to make better choices.
Jake: That's very honorable, but David is like a black hole. He'll suck you in and spit you right out.
Amanda: This is my fault. You were trying to help us, and now you're getting tangled into David's crazy --
Marissa: Look, I am not a victim. I know what I'm doing. Congratulations.
Krystal: Marissa --
Tad: It's her choice, Krystal. Maybe she can save David. Maybe she can save us all.
David: Liza. I didn't get to thank you earlier.
Liza: You don't have to thank me.
David: Oh, are you kidding? No charges, free man. Wow, you're one hell of an attorney.
Liza: That's true, but it didn't hurt your case to drop that little bomb about me standing over Stuart's body.
David: I was just telling the truth. How about you? Why didn't you try it on for size?
Liza: I don't know what you're talking about.
David: Oh, come on. You weren't signing on to help me. You're with that pack of whiners who's trying to keep me from my baby.
Liza: That's ridiculous. I'm impartial.
David: The hell you are. You were trying to get me thrown in jail for Stuart's murder, so I wouldn't get to be with my child. And what better way than to throw the case? I go down, you're the hero.
Liza: Let go of my arm.
David: I don't forget when people try to play me for a fool, especially when my children are involved.
David: Are you all right? The baby? Are you all right?
Liza: You leave my baby alone, and you leave me the hell alone.
Erica: Hello, Annie. Oh, it hurts, doesn't it? To be stabbed. And the blood -- oh, there's so much blood.
Annie: Leave me alone. There is a cop outside my door.
Erica: I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to talk.
Annie: I'm sorry that I stabbed you, Erica. I was not myself then. I was very troubled. I was thinking all sorts of crazy thoughts. I -- I didn't even know that it was you when I hurt you.
Erica: Stabbed me.
Annie: But I'm better now. Lots of people say that I'm better. Ryan even let me talk to Emma on the phone.
Erica: Oh, on the phone? How wonderful.
Annie: And I want to keep getting better. There are a lot of things I want to do. I have a reason to live now.
Erica: Is that reason Adam Chandler? He won't be enough to keep you going, Annie, once you're in prison where you belong.
Kendall: What are you doing here?
Ryan: It's a full moon. Sometimes on nights like this, I come here to --
Kendall: To feel closer to Greenlee?
Ryan: Yeah. I haven't been able to let her go.
Kendall: I haven't asked you to.
Ryan: I'm trying. But she just -- she creeps in, you know?
Kendall: I understand.
Ryan: Because it's the same with Zach, isn't it?
Zach: It's going to be all right, son. It's going to be all right. You're going to mend. Get strong and healthy. And be with your mom and dad.
